Our Bunglow built in 1964 is a Remodeled Tea plantation bungalow situated amidst 160 acres of lush tea and rubber plantation.
We have 10 bedrooms, 7 double rooms and 2 triples,and one single room.
10 bathrooms with hot water.
We have a old style kitchen.with a wood burning stove and a pantry which is modern.
The guests can expect to have the local cuisine, with garden grown produce, and many fruits grown in the garden,
They can have a tour of the tea estate, and the rubber plantation, visit the tea factory, visit the school run by the tea estate,
Also if they are adventurous they can go bird watching early in the morning and find more than 30 species of birds, and enjoy the fauna and flora of the surrounding area, and the villages.
there is a town nearby 10 minutes walk from the bungalow, where you can find many things you may need.
World Heritage site Sinharaja Forest is about 1 and a half hour away.you can visit Kekuna Ella, Duvili Ella,Hathmala ella, also go trekking into the forest.If you wish to go trekking into the forest, we will prepare a picnic lunch for you.
You can visit the famous Getabaru Temple which is about 6 kms away.Udawalawe Safari Park is 3 hrs away.
Yes, there is a bus stop about 10 minutes away from the bungalow, which can take you anywhere in the island with connecting buses or trains.
Our place is unique as a visitor can experience the day in the life of a tea plucker /rubber tapper in the tea plantation. and what it takes to produce a delicious cup of tea. Our visitors can flavor the delicious Ice Tea with different fresh fruit flavors which has become a hit in our bungalow. which is served free of charge anytime of the day.
From Galle it is 68 Kms, you can travel by public transport or taxi.it is easily accessible with public transport as well.
Interaction with guests
Yes we are always available to help plan your daily activities. you can travel to the beach in Unawatuna or Galle, or you can do a day trip to Uda Walawe national Park, or to the Sinharaja rain forest.
Other things to note
you can visit our school in the tea plantation and volunteer to do some teaching during your stay, or visit the tea factory.
To be respectful of the quiet envoirment, and appreciate the Eco surroundings, not to bring or throw plastics in the plantation.
