Response from Sharon:
I completely disagree with most of what Linda wrote. I believe she wrote this poor review because she did not want to pay the pet fee...PERIOD. We had a agreement that she would leave the pet fee for her dog at the condo, who was very sweet, rather than pay through airbnb.com. Upon departure, she "forgot" to leave it, then asked that I send her my address so she could mail it...sounds like the old 'check's in the mail' scam to me. I asked her to follow the proper channels and work through Airbnb.com to make the payment...then she roasted me on this review which I find vindictive and nasty. Anyway, here is my side of the story. The Saxon Mountain Condo was thoroughly cleaned prior to her arrival as all of my properties are-I have a professional cleaning crew that does an AMAZING JOB! If you look at all the reviews for the Saxon Mountain Condo & my other properties, they are 5 stars and truly wonderful. Families enjoy the reasonable price, THE PROXIMITY TO SKIING AND THE LAKE, and the family-friendly atmosphere of Georgetown. The condo has wifi and cable with great Rocky Mountain views. There are TWENTY photos of the 1000 foot condo...that is very sufficient for guests to see what it looks like. The bathroom was spotless when she arrived, as I checked it personally; the linens were fresh, the kitchen was scrubbed, and the floors were mopped. She claimed there were dirty dishes left in the cabinet, but the OWNERS were the last ones who stayed prior to her arrival, and I find it SO HARD to believe the owners would leave dirty dishes in the cabinet. Regardless, I apologized to her immediately as all guests are expected to wash their own dishes, and I stated that sometimes can happen. The condo does not need updating, and as a matter of fact all of the living room furniture is brand-spanking new & was replaced last month so NO IDEA what she's talking about. The condo is on the third floor and some folks just can't hack hiking, skiing, biking, or yes, even walking, in the Rocky Mountains. Living at 8519 ft is not easy, especially for people from sea level...but in my opinion, you cannot blame someone else for ones own inability to walk two flights of stairs. I assumed folks would realize the condo is on the third floor as the number is B303, but I will be sure to state that in the listing from here on out. I apologize that it wasn't clear. Along the same lines, Linda's group somehow managed to break the toilet seat & jolt the toilet bolts loose at the condo which was immediately replace & secured. They also tore down the curtain rod and never informed me that they had broke it. Let me also state that this was Linda's first time using Airbnb, so she was completely unfamiliar with accessing the Guest Resources for check-in, house rules, area info, and check-out. She tried to reach me after she arrived on a Friday night at 9pm, and I responded as soon as I received her message. I also reminded her when she booked to make sure she reviewed all check-in info for her arrival, which she did not do...the check-in information is VERY clear if one simply reads the info provided. Sorry she did not enjoy her stay, but I doubt she would have enjoyed any property in this price range...ALL OTHERS WHO STAYED AT THE SAXON MOUNTAIN CONDO DID ENJOY THEIR STAY.
