Skylights, exposed brick and wide-plank, reclaimed wood floors exudes charm. Sprouts (an organic grocery), King Soopers, a community recreation center, public library branch and park are mere blocks away. Easy access to the mountains via I-70 is also nearby.
I recently finished renovating my house: gutting the interior, exposing brick, increasing the Great room ceiling height; a long and arduous creative process, in which I did a great deal of the work. This is my primary residence, so please treat it respectfully!
The flooring is reclaimed "Foundry Fir" hailing from Montana. I made the towel racks from flooring scraps, and old school hooks from New York City. (The crystal doorknobs are also from my NYC source.) The interior doors we made from old windows sealed into the frame of a new door! I bought the rugs in Jordan and Turkey when I was living in Jordan. I brought the print- fabric curtains back from Dhaka, and the antique Chinese wood window screens back from Thailand, when working in Asia last year.
As part of the renovation, we exposed the brick and removed the ceiling rafters in the Great room, in order to "raise" the ceiling height. These old studs (house built 1906) formed the dining room table!
I would appreciate if you would not wear shoes inside my home, and leave your shoes on the black mats by the doors. I don't want the outdoor muck & mire, mud, snow & dog poo, inside my home where we don't where shoes. *Consider bringing comfy socks, down booties or slippers for your stay!
The large bedroom has a full-size bed. The living room has a queen-size pull-out couch. The small bedroom does not currently have a bed, but an inflatable full-size air mattress.
Our personal things are in the small bedroom closet, so please leave that door closed. You are welcome to use the other closets as needed.
Feel free to avail yourself of the compost bin in the backyard should you feel so inclined!
Interaction with guests
I will be out of town but available by text/phone/email if you need help.
Other things to note
Feel free to use the kitchen, D/W and W/D and BBQ grill (backyard). Please hand wash the wineglasses and coffee mugs with "Mocha Cafe". (Mocha Cafe mugs came from a friend's former cafe in Hanoi.)
Yes, there is no tv. Go outside and/or read a book!
I would strongly appreciate if you would not wear shoes inside my home, and kindly leave your shoes on the black mats by the doors.
There is absolutely NO smoking or pets. I have an infant son and I'm very allergic to smoke and animals.
