The Cleveland Cottage is a charming little 1 bed/1 bath, 900 sqft house with a spacious living room (and a pull-out couch!), and a full kitchen. The house was built with wood from the property as a carriage house for one of the first homes in town.

The space

The Cleveland Cottage is walking distance to downtown Cleveland (Cotton Row/Sharpe Street) as well as Delta State University and the Grammy Museum. We've recently renovated the entire house: we painted all the rooms, replaced most of the bathroom (except the original cast iron bathtub), and updated the kitchen. All of the furniture is brand new and very comfortable! The house was built with wood from the property over 75 years ago and the cottage is complete with old house charm including gently sloping original wood floors, original windows, and a very clean but worn cast iron bathtub. It's the best of old and new and it is a contributing property in the Founder's District, a national historic distinction.

Guest access

You'll have complete use of the house (including an oven/stove, & full refrigerator) except for the hallway closet, which we use to store supplies and such.

Interaction with guests

The house is owned by three friends who live in the town/county. We're happy to provide suggestions on what to do and where to eat!

This is my second time to stay (URL HIDDEN) wife's first. She loved it! ( as do I). It is perfect for a couple in need of quiet time. It is warm, quaint, funky, and chill. It is close to everything Cleveland has to offer. I recommended it before, and now We recommend it! Matty is a great host.

The cottage is a perfect place for two in the heart of Cleveland, walking distance to DSU or to downtown events. The cottage is very charming and has a lot of character. Comfortable bed and very clean. Matty is a great host.

Amazing location, beautiful cottage with spectacular decor. A wonderful place to call home away from home.

The rough sawn boards throughout give this locally famous cottage character & ties it to the site. The living room is spacious, the bedroom romantic & the kitchen has most everything you need. It's a short walk to Cotton Row, the charming retail & entertainment district. The Railroad Museum is full of artifacts and an impressive model train layout that changes with the seasons. Read the Blues Trail historic markers. Eat at Catfish Cabin. Get the blues at a club in Clarksdale, just 36 miles away. We loved the cottage & will be back some day!

I am very conflicted on raving about how fantastic this cottage is, just because I want to keep coming here when I return to the Delta. You can't beat the location, and I am slightly obsessed with the decor. Easily the best communication I've had using AirBnB. Highly recommended!

I grew up in New York City, but moved to rural Mississippi (about two hours south of Memphis, TN) after college and never left! My wife, Suzette, and I love to travel, meet new people, and host friends new and old here in Mississippi.
