Affordable self-contained tourist accommodation in Hobart. The Gardens Apartment Hobart can accommodate a single adult or a couple only and is available for stays of 3 to 14 nights duration. Generous discounts apply for stays of 7 nights or more.
The Gardens Apartment - nestled in the tranquil, leafy riverside suburb of Taroona and just 10 minutes drive from the Hobart CBD, Salamanca precinct and the ferry or bus to MONA.
Built in 2013 and fitted out to a very high standard, The Gardens Apartment is completely self-contained and will appeal to the discerning tourist or holidaymaker who would like to enjoy some of Hobart’s fine restaurants but who also appreciates having the use of a serious kitchen while away from home - featuring gas cooktop (with flame-fail detection), 3 function oven, dishwasher, fridge and washing machine. There’s even a coffee machine (Caffitaly pod system). Complementary tea and coffee pods provided, as are some breakfast goodies for our guests' first night.
The lounge offers high quality 'Tessa' leather lounge chairs, flued gas heating, High Definition 32" LCD LED TV and Blu-Ray/DVD/CD player and a selection of movies for your enjoyment. There's also a bluetooth stereo soundbar for TV and your own music. Recently upgraded NBN broadband WiFi, with great coverage throughout the apartment, is perfect for streaming, internet and email. The bathroom is compact and stylish and there is a separate toilet.
The spacious upstairs bedroom is a major feature of the apartment. It has a specially designed lighting system, twin built-in robes and new queen-size bed with high quality pocket spring mattress for minimum partner disturbance and a restful night's sleep.
The apartment has its own courtyard and clothes line. Under-cover off-street parking completes the package.
Nearby there’s easy access to beaches, cafés, pubs, restaurants and the renowned Lipscombe Larder - a delicatessen that provides wonderful meals – either ready-to-cook or pre-cooked, as well as a great selection of Tasmania’s outstanding cool climate wines and fine local produce. As the area provides the ideal riding environment for cyclists, we offer the use of two TREK FX 7.1 flat-bar road bicycles for those who wish to use them: a 44.5cm men's and a 38cm women's... and helmets, of course!

Interaction with guests
As travellers, we enjoy interacting with our guests and discussing things to do and see in Tasmania - it's one of the reasons for us having a tourist accommodation. But if our guests prefer a more private stay, that's fine with us too.
Other things to note
We not only hold an Occupancy Permit from our local Council permitting us to operate a Visitor Accommodation, we are also members of the Tasmanian Hospitality Association and Tourism Accommodation Australia (Tas). We always ask our guests to review our apartment so that you can get an idea of how they have found the standard of our accommodation. We'd like to think that we have thought of everything, but occasionally our guests make suggestions on how we can make our apartment even better. If it's practical to implement those suggestions - we do! For example, the road bikes we offer the use of, came from a suggestion from our first ever paying guest.
• No smoking inside, please
• No parties or loud noise, please.
• No pets.
• For both comfort and economy, we ask guests to ensure that the heater is turned off before going to bed.
• We ask our guests not to cut or place hot pans directly on the kitchen bench surfaces - chopping boards and pot trivets are provided.
• Guests are required to pay for any damage/loss to the apartment or its contents.
I'm Tom and I enjoy my work with young people, helping them decide what they want for their future and how to achieve it. Pam is a Production Supervisor and Author. We both love our garden and making it a sanctuary from which to draw inspiration each day. We also love travelling - both within Australia and internationally - and we love meeting people as well. That's why we decided to build a high quality affordable tourist accommodation, to share these and other interests with our guests.
