A charming and spacious, thatched cottage with a large garden, situated on a quiet country, no-through, lane and surrounded by stunning views of the countryside. Located in picturesque Horningsham, the village of Longleat Safari Park, there are lots of lovely walks from the doorstep and plenty of attractions to visit in the area.

The space

The detached cottage, some of it dating back to 16th century, has three bedrooms: the very large master with ensuite bathroom, and a double and single which share the family bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is a spacious sitting room with wood burning stove and beams, a large, well equipped kitchen with separate dining area, study, utility room, shower room and conservatory. The garden has a large sheltered terrace with space to dine.

There is parking for up to three cars.

Interaction with guests

We do not live on-site, so you'll have the place to yourselves, but someone is not far away if there are any problems.

Other things to note

Mobile reception can be patchy as it is in a valley. You can find some signal to most networks, although you might need to go into the garden. There is wireless internet in the study which reaches most rooms.

We chose this cottage for it's proximity to Stonehenge and Bath, and were not disappointed. In less that an hour we were in the bustling city or massive stones, while staying in an idyllic country setting. The house is charming, with all the amenities and lovely notes on everything you would want to know about the cottage. We really loved our stay, and will come back again soon.

Beautiful, well equipped house. Ed and his team thought of everything including tea bags, milk and a gorgeous fruit cake. There is nothing we would change about this idyllic cottage in a perfect setting. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your dream xx

The cottage was perfect for a relaxing family Christmas. It was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed plus a few extra special touches provided by the hosts! The location was ideal with plenty of walks nearby. The cottage was exactly as the photos and description stated and the hosts were on hand for anything we needed.

My husband and 3 children stayed at this beautiful thatched cottage for the weekend. It was in a stunning location with pheasants in the garden! We stayed for the weekend to go to the Longleat festival of light which was superb. We also went for a Christmas storytime and craft morning at Warminster library. The house was beautifully appointed with every home comfort needed - from the slippers to the wellies and the log fire! Ed was fantastic at communicating, extremely prompt and amicable. A great host - we'll come back next year!

Beautiful, secluded cottage yet really easy to find. The perfect base for exploring the area or simple locking yourself away from the world for a few days!! With its extremely well equipped kitchen, there's no need to eat out.we used it as a Base to visit Longleat and will definitely be back if we need a family friendly house in the area again. There isn't a shop within walking distance however, it's really easy to find one closely. Lovely little extras added like the welly boots and slippers!!! Well worth a trip!
