Sunny and spacious charming vintage one-bedroom flat in the heart of a very safe neighborhood with easy access to public transit. A gem in a great neighborhood in a great city!
CAT LOVERS ONLY: I have a kitten, so potential guests must be cat lovers and free of cat allergies.
Please read my profile before requesting to book.
Large, sunny, one bedroom apartment (living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, bath, patio) in the super-safe and charming Roscoe Village / North Center neighborhood. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, a few friends, or a very small family. Queen bed (very comfortable!) in bedroom and day bed (real twin) in living room. Option for air mattress on request. There is a swinging door which separates the living room area from the rest of the apartment, so anyone sleeping in the living room will have some privacy.
Other notes: Back patio; garden courtyard; laundry room; dishwasher; 1 block from Trader Joe's grocery store; steps away from Damen bus; 8 minute walk to Brown Line 'L' train; 1 block from Divvy Bicycle Rental; tons of free and easy street parking. Short walk to great restaurants and bars, shopping, cafes, music venues, boutiques, salons, etc, etc...
I truly love this neighborhood and location. I can get to the Loop with an easy 18-25 minute 'L' ride (or 15 minutes via car); jump on the Damen bus and I'm in Wicker Park in 10 minutes; I'm a mile from Wrigley Field; 2 miles from the lakefront. The neighborhood is one of the safest in the city, tons of parks and extremely well-maintained. It's the perfect blend of a residential and bustling urban neighborhood, with great restaurants, boutiques, theatre, comedy clubs, nightlife, antique stores, and music venues just a short walk away in any direction.
Air conditioning units are available from mid-June through late August only.
**PLEASE MESSAGE ME FIRST BEFORE SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST and tell me a little bit about yourself and your reasons for your travels. I love to know my guests :) Also, please no requests for young children, and please no requests for discounts. THANKS! :) **
You will have access to the entire apartment, patio, and laundry room.
Interaction with guests
Please feel free to contact me at any time and I'll respond as quickly as possible!
Other things to note
My flat is near the Chicago Fire Department. The firemen, who sit outside the station day and night in nice weather, further add to the security of the street. It can be a little noisy at times, but they turn off their sirens during nighttime sleeping hours.

I'm a single mother to a 10-year-old and a photographer by trade and by passion (and have a pretty bad case of wanderlust). With my camera and suitcase in hand, I'm the most happy!
Fun fact: I was a cast member on the Danish TV show "Alt for Danmark" ("Everything for Denmark"), which aired in Fall 2012. The show is about 14 Danish-Americans who come to Denmark to learn more about the country and culture of our ancestors. I completely fell in love with Denmark during my time there and plan to come back to visit every year (if at all possible!).
Please note: This is my home and not a rental property, and I'm now only accepting well-reviewed guests who are also hosts. For me, Airbnb will always be about sharing my home with like-minded, easy-going travelers, not turning my home into a hotel or being treated as a concierge. If you love old, vintage homes, are friendly, low-maintenance, and have realistic expectations, and will treat my home like you would your own, then send me a message and we'll take it from there! :)
In your message, please tell me:
1) Your age, where you live, and the reason for your trip to Chicago;
2) Your favorite Airbnb experience;
3) Your least favorite Airbnb experience;
4) Confirm that you don't have cat allergies and are aware that a cat lives in my home (although she won't be home during your stay)
