Adorable cedar shingle camp on 400 acres of classic Maine wilderness. Acadia National Park is 18 miles away. Large sleeping loft can accommodate 4 people. Woodstove and gas cook stove, H&C running water in kitchen, cozy living area and covered porch!
Available from mid-May to mid-October!
There are miles of secluded walking roads on the property to observe wildlife...and it's only 18 miles to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park! The camp is quintessential Maine at its finest. Camp Kwitchabitchin was hand-built by the owners in 200 7 with all re-purposed materials. It is very cozy. The owners lived in it while they built their permanent home which is across the lane. PLEASE NOTE! The cabin is lovely but it is a true rustic Maine camp. There is an outdoor hot water shower, an outhouse and a BRAND NEW flush toilet and sink in the "Water Closet" upstairs next to the sleeping loft.
Here is what our first Airbnb lodgers had to say:
~ Carol & Tom, Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your cabin with us. It was exactly what we had hoped for and a great retreat from the city. It really allowed us to get back to the country. We hope to be back soon! It was so cool to be your first lodgers.
~ The outdoor shower is amazing! Peace!
~ Carol & Tom, This was truly an experience of coming home. Thank you for the simple, yet cozy cabin. We’ll definitely be back. All the best,
The Fancy Boys
(Eddie, Ian & Chris)
PS—I just saw that they wrote on the outhouse graffiti-chalkboard, “Best seat in the house. I ain’t shittin’!”
Guests have full access to our land which is 400 acres of pristine Down East Maine wilderness. There are miles of walking gravel roads to observe our resident wildlife...beaver lodges, heron rookery (nursery), bald eagles, coyotes, bears, white-tail deer, moose, pileated woodpeckers, snowshoe rabbits, wild (URL HIDDEN) mention only a few!
Interaction with guests
Both Tom and Carol are usually available for recommendations...they will be working on the property. There are printed directions to local hot-spots, scenic areas and events. There will be breakfast foods provided in the pantry and fridge.
Other things to note
We have two very friendly female dogs--Rhoda and Charley--who might like to tag along on your walks--if you'd like. Dogs are allowed with a small housekeeping fee ($15 per night/per dog).
Absolutely NO SMOKING in the camp. If you smoke on the grounds, please be aware of your butts and dispose of them safely. Thank you.
