This house is in the most beautiful, remote location. Basically you have a private beach. The only people we saw were some guys going by on a small boat. It's quiet and beautiful. The house is open and airy. Lots of places to sit and read and lay out. The deck with the pool was the perfect place to spend most of the day if you don't want to be down on the beach. Viewing the sunset from the deck or the beach is stunning. We rented a car but didn't use it at all really. I would recommend just getting a cab to the house and staying out for the duration of your trip. If you did want to go out and explore a car would be needed. There isn't anything walking distance from the house. If you want to cook be sure to food shop on the island you fly into before taking the ferry to the North Island. We did go out to find a few things one afternoon and the small stores don't have too much to offer.
My girlfriend and I spent a week at Diana's house, “The Pink House” as we call it, and had an absolutely wonderful time. If you're looking to travel to Turks and Caico's (or the Caribbean in general) and would enjoy a more private, less "touristy" experience, this house is the one. It sits right against the ocean with hundreds (maybe thousands...) of feet of private beach. There's a pool in the backyard, a large deck to sunbathe or BBQ or watch the sunset, and there's a surf board, kayak and goggles/snorkel to explore the ocean. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms all have windows that can open up (with screens) to let in a gentle, temperate ocean breeze as you fall asleep. The kitchen is modern, there's wifi that functions quite well (in an otherwise fairly remote location), and there's a small beach bar and restaurant within walking distance. It’s really the best of both worlds; privacy and tranquility with all the amenities and comforts. It’s well suited for a couple, as we did, but I think it would also be a blast to go with a small group, as the house can comfortable accommodate at least six people. We would definitely go back and stay again, and are hoping to do so.
