Our environmentally-conscious and modern micro farm is a dream come true for us - and we are excited to share it with you during your stay! Only 3 miles from the French Quarter, it is the perfect place to write, relax, read, take photos, celebrate, hug a chicken and get away to recharge for a bit.
Come enjoy the private guest suite of our home and see why the Holy Cross neighborhood is New Orleans' best kept secret.

LGBTQ safe & friendly.

The space

Soaring ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors, & a deep clawfoot tub add touches of luxury while a gorgeous backyard with chickens & large garden give you plenty of space in which to relax and unwind after your adventures.

Just 3 miles downriver of the French Quarter, our retreat features a private entrance, queen-sized pillowtop bed, living room, and private bath suitable for a solo traveler, couple, or 3 close friends. You will also have access to our large backyard patio/lawn and front porch cafe table.

The house is a double shotgun that has been converted to a single-family residence. The guest quarters is half of the downstairs and is separated entirely from the rest of the house by a locking pocket door. The private entrance opens into the office/living room space. This is connected to a hallway with a large bathroom and bedroom. There is a large closet with hangers and shelving as well as an iron, bathrobes, and slippers. Nothing says vacation like a bathrobe :)

Though there is no kitchen, there is a mini fridge for you to store your leftovers. Upon request, we will deliver a farm-to-plate breakfast of our organic eggs, seasonal fruit, fresh bread, homemade jam, and farm-roasted coffee for $12 per guest per day - honestly, it is such a lovely treat. If you plan on exploring restaurants, we will leave a list of our favorite spots around town.

Our house is on a dead-end street with very little foot or car traffic. We offer a quiet environment in which to unwind after all of your adventures. Neighborhood quiet hours are 10pm to 8am.

Guest access

You are free to come and go as you please. You are welcome to use the back patio which can be accessed from the front of the house. Cafe lights make the backyard cozy and beautiful at night. Our lovely chickens are let out in the yard at sunrise and are put to bed before sunset.

You have a private entrance with a living room, bathroom & bedroom that are all separated entirely from the rest of the house.

Interaction with guests

We are committed to respecting your privacy but we also want to make sure you have the best possible experience while you're in New Orleans. This is our home and we are happy to answer any questions, but if you're looking to be left alone we are good at that too.

It's not unusual to find us enjoying a glass of wine while we watch the sunset from the backyard and you're more than welcome to join us :)

Other things to note

*We have two very friendly and adorable dogs named Iggy (a 10 year old westie) and Puna (1-year-old German Shepherd)

*We have beautiful hens free-ranging in the backyard!

*Due to boat traffic on the river (yes we are that close!) wifi on the property works for email, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, and general browsing. Streaming movies are often interrupted, so if your idea of a great vacation is to catch up on Netflix, this may not be the best listing for you.

*The green cottage in the back is also an AirBnB listing. If you're looking for a full kitchen or washer/dryer access, see the listing at "SUMMER SALE - Bright Cottage on an Urban Farm"

Stay at Betsy's place if you're visiting New Orleans!! We won't look anywhere else next time we visit! Betsy was super sweet and really cared about making our stay perfect. You can see how much thought and care she puts into hosting - from the fully stocked bathroom (sunscreen, shampoo, hair dryer, etc) to the bathrobe and bubble bath for the beautiful clawfoot tub. The house is STUNNINGLY restored and perfectly clean. Take her up on the offer for breakfast if available - she served us eggs from her own chickens, fruit from her garden, homemade jam and bread, and fresh roasted coffee that we enjoyed in the sunny sitting room of our rental. Location is ideal! Within walking distance to GREAT restaurants while enjoying views of the beautiful NOLA skyline along the levee. A quick uber ride into downtown. Highly recommend you check out the lower 9th ward!

In one word it was just PERFECT! We stayed at Betsys for 3 days and we really enjoyed every minute that we spent there Place was clean, confy and we felt that we were at home with the backyard, the chicken and the dogs going around. That makes you feel relax and peacefull. Betsy and Tim are very welcoming and they know are to make us feel confortable. They were always there to answer questions and they gave us many places to go .... one ouf the best place is Bachanal! Need to go there for sure to make you understand are people from New Orleans are friendly and welcoming. It is not that far from the house and was definitly one it the best moment we had during our trip. We also had the chance to visit few places in the town and everything is pretty close to the house and very secure... dont need to worry everyone is there to smile to you and help you. Definitly one of the best trips we had and hope to be back again and bring the kids with us to make them realise how this place is beautiful Thanks Betsy and Tim Diane and Fred from Montréal

Betsy greeted us warmly upon arrival, and provided us with a little packet of info to better assist our stay in her home. The house was beautifully furnished and equipped with all the things needed to enjoy our stay. Our part of the house was completely separate from theirs so it felt completely private. When the power went out during the storm she checked in on us to make sure we were alright and even gave us a little bottle of champagne to to thank us for our patience! She continuously checked in on us during our stay. The neighborhood was very quiet which was a refreshing break from the bustling city, but was only a short Uber ride to the French Quarter. I must say I'm no longer afraid to stay Air BnB (it was my first time) but Betsy and Tim certainly set the standard! Check them out if your staying in NOLA- I'll definitely be staying with them when I visit again!

Virgin Air BNB travelers......we were thrilled with this place! Beautiful home, clean, comfy and so inviting, with our "own" entrance and side of the house. Betsy communicated with me from the minute I booked her place, and continued until we arrived. She greeted us with her beautiful smile and recommended a fabulous wine bar/rest. for a snack which was just what the doctor ordered......outdoor, wine, cheese, and jazz! Dinner suggestion was one of the best meals we've had, and even the breakfast joint was amazing! Loved and can't wait to go back!!

Betsy's place was so beautiful and picturesque, and we LOVED the chickens! Everything was very clean and orderly, and Betsy was very thoughtful. She had very clear communication with me, which made our stay very easy. This was perfect for our weekend quick trip to NOLA! Would definitely recommend :)
