This newly remodeled 2nd floor one bedroom apartment is in the heart of the Walled City.
The balcony is a delightful perch allowing you to enjoy the typically bustling Cartagena street below. Have a beverage and people watch to your heart's content!
Your apartment is within walking distance of all restaurants, museums and attractions within the old walls of Cartagena, as well as the hip, cool and artsy neighborhood of Getsemani.

The space

The studio is one of 3 apartments (studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom), all located on the 2nd floor above a clothing shop on Calle de La Moneda in the historic Walled City. Upon entering the building you will walk up the stairs to a common hallway. Each apartment has its own secure door from this hallway.
The unit is perfect for one to four persons. The bed has a new firm and very comfortable mattress. A sofa bed in the common room can sleep two persons. An energy efficient mini split provides generous coolness on hot days. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and a selection of pots and pans. Silverware, cups, plates, bowls and cooking utensils are also provided. Other amenities include large ceiling fans, cable tv, wireless internet access, tile throughout, wardrobe, a safe for valuables and of course the balcony!
The bathroom is beautiful and modern. We even have hot water which is not normally available everywhere in Cartagena.
In the hallway that accesses each apartment is a a cabinet which holds beach towels, extra soaps, extra toilet paper, extra pillows, and some tourist books and maps. Those items available to guests will be stored on the left side of the cabinet.
Yasmina, our caretaker, will be available to do laundry for guests at a charge of 5,000 pesos per load. (She will use a laundry bag labeled for each apartment making it hard to lose any of your laundry.) No laundry service on Sunday.

The 1BR apartment is clean, comfortable, spacious, well-appointed, modern with local accents. The A/C units worked strongly, quietly, and perfectly, as did the ceiling fans - your choice (or, sit shirtless on the balcony as the locals do...) Real hot water - yay! WiFi worked fine. Additional towels and cleaning supplies in the laundry room - self-help - no waiting for service. Building manager Benjamin is a really nice person and very helpful. The balcony is off the living room; the BR is set back, so potential street noise is not an issue. Street is a busy commercial street during the day, quiet at night, safe any time. Right in the middle of the "walled city" - most places of interest to tourists are no further than 15 minutes of unhurried walking. Several grocery stores nearby, inc. a big supermarket (with cell phone shop). Juan Valdez coffee shop a block away - this is a step up from Starbucks; better coffee to be had at the Brioche eatery across the street from it (but if you want the best coffee in Cartagena, amble over to Cafe San Alberto, near Plaza Bolivar, which also offers a coffee class) (and while I'm offering this sort of tips, the chocolate museum - Museo del Cacao - about a block from the apartment offers chocolate classes). Also easy access to Getsemani shopping and entertainment districts, if that's your thing. Would stay again.
