Bendabout has two separate bedrooms, each with king bed, walk-in closet and private bathroom. There is a kitchenette with fridge, sink, microwave, toaster oven & more. Enjoy a private patio and barbecue and just a 5 minute walk to the river!

The space

Bendabout is named for the roundabouts in Bend, it doesn't take long to appreciate and love them! The space is a private apartment featuring two bedrooms each with it's own king bed, bathroom and walk-in closet in a newly constructed apartment suite. The suite is built onto the side of a historic 1930 house that originally served as a grocery store to Bend's mill workers in the 30's and 40's.

There is a kitchenette with a small dinette table and chairs and two comfortable lounging chairs. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, coffee maker, cookware, toaster and most everything needed for simple meals. The patio has table and chairs and a barbeque.

In 2015, an addition was added onto my home to make a perfect vacation rental for all the interesting people that visit Bend. There are two rooms, Bendabout Inn and Bendabout Too. The common room has a kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, coffee pot, toaster oven, toaster and more. The patio has it's own table, chairs and barbeque. You are also welcome to enjoy my patio as well.

I've lived in my house since 1999 and have enjoyed turning it into the home of my dreams. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood overlooking the Deschutes river and Old Mill District. It is a short walk down the hill to all the river activities, dining, nightlife, entertainment, parks and trails. Also, a very short 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to downtown Bend. It also offers easy access to the Parkway (Hwy 97) and the Southern Bridge, the gateway to the Cascade Lakes Hwy and Mt. Bachelor.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the private patio or relax on the shared deck with a glass of wine or one of Bend's famous craft brews. Barbeque also available for those beautiful summer evenings!

I share my home with Piper, a miniature Australian labradoodle. Piper loves people and will greet you enthusiastically.

Guest access

Bendabout will be your private space with a private entrance. There is a hallway connecting to my home and laundry room which is available with permission. Each bedroom also has it's own key, there is a private patio for your use or you can share my patio with me, depending on time of year, sun and weather.

Interaction with guests

I enjoy meeting my guests and sharing information about the space. I love sharing with you the great places around Bend and Central Oregon. And I also respect your privacy.

Other things to note

Bendabout for the outdoors person - starts with a walk to the Old Mill where you can rent a bike, kayak, canoe or paddle board. Visit an awesome fly fishing shop or plan a tour of Bend on an electric bike or Segway. Just a one minute drive to get on the road to Mt. Bachelor.

Bendabout for the concert-goer and foodie - again start with a walk down to the Old Mill District. Restaurants, art galleries and the Les Schwab amphitheater are all only a few minutes away.

Bendabout is a lovely home and Marilyn made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The beds were fabulous and the home was clean and quiet. We watched the eclipse out on our own patio! Marilyn's home is close to everything and there were maps and brochures for many activities. You couldn't ask for a better home away from home.

Great spot. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, but right next to the river and old mill.

Marilyn and her place were great! After being on the road for 4 days prior to our stay in Bend, it was great to enjoy the comforts of like being "home". Beds were fantastic and being able to cook breakfast was nice. Being able to walk to RiverBend Park and the Old Mill shops was a good break from having to dive everywhere.

Thanks Jenn, glad you were so comfortable! Marilyn

Marilyn is a wonderful, caring, and accommodating host! Bendabout is clean and comfortable, and Marilyn provides basics like coffee, shampoo, hair dryers, etc. It was very nice not to have to pack those things! Although Bendabout is perfect for families, it is not suitable for anyone with a mobility problem because of a few stairs (very few). I would recommend Bendabout to those who are visiting Bend. It is reasonably priced, and the beds are SO comfortable!

Response from Marilyn:
HI Judy, that is a great idea to put a handrail on the steps. Thanks! Have a great rest of your summer. Marilyn

I'm Marilyn, a quilt shop owner and lover of Bend, Central Oregon and everything it has to offer. I've been in Bend for 24 years a transplant from British Colombia and Colorado. My business, QuiltWorks, now in it's 7th year is right in the heart of Bend across the street from Pilot Butte Drive In.

I like to find a weekend getaway once in a while to share with a friend and sew, eat, laugh and just connect.
