this century old home was built in 1906, and has a beautiful wrap around front porch. It is located downtown CDA, and a short walk to the Beach, or the many downtown shops, galleries and restaurants. It also has a huge back yard, and large deck.

The space

This home takes you back to a by gone era, where you can sit on the front porch and watch the day go by. The home has been updated and has many modern amenities. The interior is very comfortable, and has a fully equipped kitchen, and all bedding and linens provided.
The back yard allows lots of room for the kids to play. The deck area, has a grill and plenty of seating for eating out.

Guest access

The entire house is available to you, as well as a nearly 1/6 of an acre lot, for yard games, and picnicking.

This house is a real gem in beautiful Coeur D'Alene. Gary is easy to contact and there are many informational pamphlets and tips throughout the house for local things to do and places to eat. The yard is great for outdoor activities like barbecuing, relaxing, or playing sports. The games and equipment at the house were a true highlight for our family. The house is walking distance to restaurants, antique shops, the grocery store, and the lakefront/resort area. I would highly recommend this booking to anyone.

INCREDIBLE location! In town for half iron man, and was able to walk to transition area! Great for spectators too because they could walk home and take breaks throughout day! Amazing back yard with fully stocked shed, and beautiful patio with tons of seating. Would definitely go back! Gary was excellent about communicating with me when I had questions too.

What a great house! The house is very comfortable and has every amenity you can hope for. Highlights included the big wraparound front porch and a huge backyard. Gary was in touch before, during and after the visit. We really enjoyed the stay and would return without hesitation. Thanks Gary!

My family, friends, and I had a great stay at the Benson House. We were 7 in total in town for the Ironman triathlon, and this home was a perfect set up for the extended weekend. From an athlete's point of view, it was close to the expo/transition areas and made it very easy to walk back and forth without needing a car to drop off gear, etc. From a spectator's stand point, it was close enough to walk back for a quick rest or grab something before heading back out to see us zip by on the bikes again. I definitely recommend this place to anyone competing or watching the event! We spent most of our time on the great wrap around porch or in the backyard playing lawn games (horseshoes!), and ran inside to the nice cool house when the 90 degree + heat got to us. Gary was very responsive via text message and provided a binder with several awesome recommendations around town for things to do and places to eat. Thanks so much for a great stay Gary!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Benson House this summer! It's a beautiful, spacious house with a huge back yard that's perfect for kids to play and explore! We loved being so close to downtown Coeur D'Alene and the lake! We pretty much walked everywhere we went within the area. The house was clean and is stocked with everything we needed to live there for a week, including kitchen supplies, towels and bedding, and a shed full of fun lawn games like badminton and croquet! Gary was very responsive and answered all of my questions both before and during our trip quickly and accurately. He also left a book full of helpful tips and places to go around the area, which I thought was a great addition to the experience. I would definitely recommend this rental to my friends and family. Thank you for a great stay, Gary!!

The house met our expectations (which were high!) in all respects, and exceeded them when it came to how well-provisioned the pantry and kitchen were. We laughed every time someone would find exactly what they needed, or discovered conveniences (like slide-outs for pots and pans) that we don't even have at home. But best of all: my 87-year-old, walker-bound mother loved all the sunlit downstairs common rooms, and was happy with her ground-floor bedroom w/connecting bath. (She was able to manage the few exterior, sidewalk and porch steps with our help.)

Gary was a great communicator before & during our stay! The house was the cutest in the entire neighborhood & we loved calling it home. My favorite part was the backyard for barbeques & lawn games (which they provide). I'd recommend this place again & again! And I must also mention that this is the perfect location - walking distance from the heart of Coeur d' Alene.

Gary User ProfileGary is a superhost.

Gary and Bob have lived in Sonoma Valley since 1981. We own our own furniture upholstery business. We travel whenever possible, but love to take advantage of northern California, and all that it offers.
We love gardening and hope you enjoy your surroundings as you visit. If you visit our Sonoma home in the summer months we will always provide flowers and produce, which we love to share. You'll also find our dog Luke, to be very friendly and happy to see you.
