About this listing

'Santosha' (sleeps 2 ) is in close proximity to some of the most beautiful beaches of Cornwall. Marazion is a 3 minute drive (20 minute walk) away. St Ives only 20 minute drive. The space is clean, contemporary, light and airy. Note : During the peak season June - September we only take bookings for 5 nights plus, unless there is a shorter gap between bookings. Then we are happy to take shorter bookings.

The space

Santosha is a stylish piedaterre for couples wishing to be within close proximity to a stunning coastline. Characterised by a look that is cheerful, light and airy; the pristine white decor and pale blonde wood finishes punctuated with splashes of bold primary colours create a contemporary and refreshing atmosphere. Situated in a quiet residential area in the village of Perran Downs, at Cornwall's narrowest point which is a stretch of just 6 miles, a five minute drive is all that distances guests from the south coast and the white sandy beaches at Perranuthnoe, Praa Sands and Marazion while a 20 minute drive will reveal the contrasts of the dramatic north coast. A central location for touring the far west and visiting the landmark attractions of St Michaels Mount, Land's End and The Minack Theatre and a convenient location for coastal and countryside pursuits with a 9 hole coastal golf course, surf school and scenic coastal footpath within close reach. The ancient market town of Penzance is 4 miles away and never short of interest with its bustling harbour, shops of all kinds, art galleries, fine restaurants and ornamental gardens. The uncluttered open plan interior is generously proportioned for two and there is the added benefit of a sheltered garden with patio furniture. The living room is comfortably arranged with a kitchen/dining area whilst upstairs is a lovely bedroom set into the eaves which can be presented as a double with a king size bed or a twin, by prior request. Semi-detached to the owners' residence yet not overlooked, once inside it is private and an ideal winter retreat with full gas central heating. A popular pub serving delicious homemade food and locally brewed ales and a convenience store are within a 10 minute walk and there is off road parking for one car.

Guest access

Guests have access to parking and the whole separate house, with their own facilities.

Interaction with guests

We allow guests to enjoy their break at Santosha in peace. However, we are always happy to give advice on the area etc.

Other things to note

During the peak weeks, so from May through until September, we tend to only rent Santosha out for a minimum of 5 nights. It is advertised as a sleep 2, however we are more than happy to accommodate up to 4 guests, as there is a lovely sofa bed. There is an extra charge for each adult, this will be discussed when receiving your enquiry. Also, Santosha is a self catering apartment, so we don't provide breakfast.

An absolute gem of a place to stay! As described - very clean, lovely decor and style, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Karly and Sam are very friendly and welcoming and although we didn't need to find them for anything, they were available if needed for any questions or help. A welcome pack of treats was provided and much appreciated! The house is in a quiet part of the village but near enough to walk to village to visit friendly pubs or shop. The nearest beach is Penruthnoe, about a mile away - lovely spot with 2 very pleasant cafes and facilities. Lots to see in the area close by or for day trips out. Thoroughly recommend Santosha and would definitely use again if visiting this beautiful part of the country. Thanks Karly and Sam!

Had a great 10 days in Karly's place staying with our one year old son. Although it seemed smaller than I imagined when we checked in, the space was amazingly well designed with loads of hidden storage so once we had unpacked, it was perfect. It is a really light and airy space with a nice little garden which we sadly didn't really get to use as the weather wasn't great for our visit. In hindsight, it probably isn't an ideal place to stay with a young child for a long break as it is very open plan and the bedroom has no door so we had to be quite quiet after bed time but there is plenty of space for a travel cot upstairs. The area is fairly quiet but with easy access to surrounding towns and beaches, a car is a must as most of the surrounding roads don't have pavements so walking isn't really practical. We mostly cooked in the well-equipped kitchen but had an amazing meal at the Victoria Inn in Perranuthnoe one night, would highly recommend! Karly was very warm and friendly and on-hand to answers any questions. She also left us an amazing welcome pack with scones and clotted cream, which was lovely. Thanks again for having us all, hope our son's crying didn't disturb you too much!!

Santosha was a great base for our Cornish adventures. Mousehole, St Ives, Lands End... all the places you'd want to visit are very accessible. Lovely clean and comfortable space - a big thank you to Karly and Sam. Hope to try Karly's yoga classes next visit!

We stayed here for our honneymoon. We both really enjoyed Cornwall. Sam was very helpful and friendly . We took the train to St Ives one day and Sam suggested we go to St Erth Station, this was a great suggestion and it worked out nicely . There were alot of places to put things for when we were there. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances etc. We also enjoyed the fact there was a picnic table in the back as it allowed us to eat outside - which was nice because it was hot while we were there . Thank you so much for making our visit enjoyable . We would recommend saying here .

We had a very happy stay at Karly's place which looks just like the photos. A great base to explore Cornwall from, within easy driving distance of Penzance, St Ives and Land's End. And if you get caught in a downpour (or two) it's lovely to come back to a cozy place to get warm and dry.

Loved this sunny modern & very clean flat in Gold Sithney. Karly was most welcoming after a long drive down and we were grateful for the welcome pack provided to get us started. We loved the location, it was lovely & quiet & found it an excellent base to explore from. The bed was comfortable & lovely & roomy. Would recommend you book somewhere for Sat evening if eating out as it was hard to find anywhere that wasnt fully booked & it seems most places stop serving food at 8pm even the fish & chip shops! We found The Godolphin in Marazion only takes walk ins & serves later so If you're stuck because you havent booked anywhere go there! The food was good too. Can recommend The Kings Arms in Marazion too for food, best to book though as it's only small. A lovey stay and just the break we needed, I would recommend this place to others visiting the area.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as the house was exactly as it appeared in the photos. The house was superbly designed with clever storage was very comfortable. It was equipped with everything we needed and even little things like a small book and dvd library made a difference. We had hired a car so getting to and from the nearby restaurants and shops was quick and easy. Karly greeted us shortly after arrival and was very helpful. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this lovely place.

I am a mother and yoga teacher (@karliyoga) who loves living in Cornwall with my 2 son's and my partner (their dad) Sam, who is from Zurich in Switzerland. Sam and I met in South Africa 15 years ago, and enjoyed sky diving as a hobby together! Things soon changed once we became parents! Sam is a keen surfer, and we all try to head out to the beaches as much as possible. We love living here because of the laid back lifestyle and all the gorgeous beaches we are very close to ; Perranuthnoe, Praa Sands and Marazion. We enjoy travel, adventure and the outdoors. I also enjoy the occasional night out dancing :)
