I am away for Christmas so I will be renting my bedroom.
It is in a nice luxury-type building in Williamsburg with a great roof deck facing Manhattan skyline. The room is 1 of 4 BR and has its own door / bathroom.

The space

The building was open to rent this year so everything is looking nice and in good condition.
The room I am renting is on an upper-floor to which you can access either by the building's stairs (with its own door/key) or through a spiral staircase that is right in the living room. It also as its own bathroom so it will leave you a lot of privacy (you can of course use the other bathroom if needed, cook in the kitchen, etc); and also has a space that overhangs the living room, that I use as working space (with a desk, monitor, wifi access), if you do feel like working!

To be honest the bedroom is not extremely bright as it does not share walls with external walls of the buildings so does not have windows, but the private access/bathroom makes it a great place to crash after a long day/night visiting Williamsburg and being independent.

The rest of the apartment is very sunny thanks to huge windows, and volume as we are on the top floor).

Guest access

The apartment and building have really nice amenities (washer/drier/gym/lounge room with pool/roof deck/elevator) that you can access at any time

Interaction with guests

I will be away and some of my roommates might also, so please expect to be autonomous

Other things to note

The walls with the neighbors are a bit thin so you might hear some music from them during weekends.. it's a living neighborhood.. but I'll leave ear plugs in case!

My roommates are friendly but will probably be busy working during the day, so ideal guests would be independent and respectful (the room being quite separated makes it a great place to be so).

I absolutely love this location smacked between Williamsburg and Greenpoint. It's an excellent escape from the hustle of Manhattan, and close to some greats bars, shops, and eateries. Lots of great, kind folk walking the streets, too. The apartment space itself was nice-- two stories, high ceilings. The room was upstairs, and one would have to access it through a narrow, spiraling staircase (I wouldn't recommend it if you're lugging heavy baggage or have any back/knee troubles). Bed was comfortable, no closet but I was pretty nonchalant about the latter. Supposedly, hot water would only be available in the upstairs shower at certain portions of the night. I tried to no avail, so I had to resort to using the downstairs bathroom that was shared between the other (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Needless to say I had to go in with a can of lysol and clorox wipes-- but hey, at least the water was warm! Still, kind of inconvenient. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) didn't interact all too much, so if you prefer going about your business then this might be a plus. Walls were pretty thin; I could hear the next door neighbor blasting his/her entire 90's playlist. Come with earplugs, just in case. During the weekend you are bound to get a sampling of it.

Hi! My name is Gregoire, I'm from France and arrived in NYC couple years ago to finish my engineering studies. I now started working and live in a really nice apartment in Brooklyn (Williamsburg). I will occasionally rent my bedroom when traveling back home. Cheers!
