Private 2 bedroom suite downstairs in 4 bedroom house. Very quiet street/safe neighborhood. Walking distance to coffee, campuses, restaurants, and brewery. Raleigh Greenway leads to NC Museum of Art. Very relaxing back yard. Plenty of parking.
You will have downstairs all to yourself. Both bedrooms are double antique frame beds. Though there are two bedrooms I only book one party at a time (meaning your bath is always private). The house has two more bedrooms upstairs with bath. Two couches and two air mattresses also available. For larger parties of 4 or more ask me about renting whole house for brief stays.
I wash pillows, sheets, bedspreads, and all towels between each guest. Dryer has steam cycle. I also supply fresh dove soap and Herbal Essence Shampoo and Conditioner. House has iron and hair dryer and various personal care needs upon request.
Street/neighborhood is very quiet at night and safe. Flower gardens throughout the yard, abundant birds, hammock/deck in backyard. Screened in porch. Great kitchen for cooking. Grill also available.
Kitchen renovated 2013. All new appliances.
Neighborhood is very friendly. Walking distance to coffee. Long but pleasant walk to bars, restaurants, and two grocery stores (less than a mile).
City center is $8-12 cab fare away. Bus stop is a block away. $1 gets you downtown every half hour.
Three entrances. You'll get a code to the back door. Entry into sunroom/kitchen. There is a strong porch light for late night arrival. Help yourself to food and beverage items. Just replenish what you finish. Nice china is on higher shelves. Glasses in cupboard next to refrigerator are crystal. Prefer guests to use everyday dishes, but handwash crystal if you want a cocktail.
Interaction with guests
Happy to answer questions & interact with social guests. I will gladly help you enjoy your stay by offering city or regional advice on what to see/do/eat....or I'll give you your space and quiet as I often retreat upstairs to my office and bedroom.
Other things to note
If you would like any specialty items during your stay feel free to send in a request. You might consider that Whole foods allows call in orders. I'm happy to pick up most anything if you call it in.
Things to do in Raleigh: The Independent Weekly comes out new every Wednesday and will have "best bets" for the weekend. I will grab you a copy but be sure to check it out online.

Places to grab a high quality cocktail: Foxes, C-Grace, and Foundation. Brunch: Capital City Club, Irregardless Cafe
Southern Cookin': Watkins Grill, State Farmers Market Restaurant
Try not to break or fix anything. No unexpected guests. If you get lucky with a local, get a hotel. I'm happy to work out a reimbursement. No smoking in house. No illegal drugs on property (I won't judge, NC is just not one of those states yet so recreate elsewhere please)
Former park ranger, dude ranch wrangler, and restaurant manager who is happy to host and help you plan your stay while in Raleigh. I'm a native North Carolinian who has been to every corner of the state. Hoping to raise funds to finish attic into walk in closet and put in a greenhouse in backyard. Look forward to meeting new travelers and sharing my home. I can also clear out if you need the whole house and stay with friends nearby.
