The listing doesn’t do Rachael’s home justice. It’s absolutely stunning- the river, the views and the home were stand outs. We loved stargazing by the outdoor fireplace. Rachael is friendly and provided thoughtful extras for guests. Highly recommend. One of our fav air bnb stays.

Such a beautiful place to stay in a peaceful location. From the moment we got here we felt right at home. The accommodation is so beautifully presented, even down to all the small details and decor, Jodie and Jae have done such an amazing job. The deep questions cards were really neat and such a great way to connect. Loved how toasty it was with the gas fire going. We were really lucky and had a clear night which made stargazing in the outdoor baths perfect. The bed was lovely and comfy and it was so nice looking out at the farm in the morning whilst sitting and the breakfast bar, such a beautiful setting. Really great value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here.

Great little place, we loved the cozy fire. With a little one we would have liked a fixed fire guard, but otherwise we had a great stay thank you. Place was neat and tidy, and great value for money. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything you could need. There was plenty of lovely dry wood.

WOW is all we could say as we walked into this beautiful home - the photos did not do it justice - the views are breathtaking. The home was so very peaceful, clean and tidy, and warm - with a fabulous kitchen Whilst the bed is a bit small for 2 people, it is comfy - we like a firm bed Lovely walks, the town is about 5mins drive. Fabulous pub 5 mins walk away (Pier House) We will definitely recommend this place to our friends Keina's home fits in exactly with the magical Kaikoura vibe THANKS AGAIN Keina - amazing place to stay - we'll be back

We were looking for somewhere isolated, unique and memorable and this place delivered in droves. We wanted an escape and we found an oasis. The views to the mountains changes hour by hour as you sit atop the the highest point for miles around. The property had everything we needed and then some - but it was the outdoors spa that won us over. To sit outside in the warmth of the spa under a blanket of stars was truly remarkable - even better to have that solely to ourselves made it even more special. If you have Mariua Mountain Retreat on your wish list, book it now. If you don't, add it now - you won't regret it. NB: for the faint of heart who might feel daunted by the road up to the house - just follow David's instructions and you'll be fine. We drove a little Toyota Corolla and it made it up with no issues. It's a little bumpy in places, but take your time and you'll be up in no time.
