A Gorgeous Georgian house by the square which includes a lovely play area for children. 3 minute walk to the harbour and thus quieter. The house is tastefully furnished with very comfortable beds and linen. It is cleaned to a high standard. Ideal for families or couples looking for a break. If fishing is of interest we can arrange sea and game trips. Cei Bach beach is close by and offers shallow water and sandy beaches. lots to do, don't hesitate to ask.
The square is beautiful and big so plenty of room for energetic children but lovely for all to enjoy. Restaurants and pubs are within 3 minutes walk surrounding the harbour. There are 2 public car parks within 5 minutes walk
  • Super house, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Shops, cafes, restaurants and walking paths right on your doorstep. Clive’s communication was faultless. Kitchen well stocked with utensils if self catering too. Warm and cosy, and Aberaeron is delightful. Book at the Harbour Master for evening meals but walk in for lunch or breakfast. The Moody Cow down the road was also delicious for food and farm shop. Diolch yn fawr iawn Clive!

We welcome you to our spacious Sea View Cottage overlooking the panoramic views of Cardigan bay. Our Sea View Cottage is the perfect getaway for two people in a simply breath taking and peaceful location. The property is located on a working farm, and is attached to our farmhouse. Only a short distance from the local village with plenty of amenities and located nearby the public footpath.
  • The cottage has an incredible view of the sea, it was absolutely immaculate, I’m a bit of a clean freak and notice when places aren’t up to scratch but this place was beyond spotless! The underfloor heating throughout made the place feel very cosy. It was lovely that the kitchen was stocked with the basics, especially the fresh coffee!

    Mitchell2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Finally ... a place that really does have a sea view! And that is only the beginning . A beautiful , modern, clean and spacious apartment close to beautiful beaches . In easy reach of both Aberyswyth and Aberaeron you can really get out and see the sights. What more could you want ? Well you will find it here , the little additions that put a smile on your face at the end of what could be a long journey ... The fresh milk in the fridge along with the other essentials for a cuppa if you weren't able to stop on the way there , the kind hosts even put in enough for you to have a bit of breakfast the following morning ! With loads of towels and even shampoo in the bathroom , excellent wifi and television reception (when you can stop looking at the view!) along with comfortable beds and bedding this really is a gem of a place and we highly recommend it.

    Michael2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay, very comfortable, warm and everything you need. Stunning view! Great place to relax and unwind. Hosts are lovely people

    Brian2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? The beautiful views? Thoughtful hosts? Comfortable beds? Warm floors? Husband and I had 2 nights here and couldn’t have been more pleased. My husband had no hand in The planning and is hard to please but I pulled this one off. The village is small but quaint and the walk back up the hill to suite was challenging but well worth it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home and would be thrilled to come back some day.

  • This is a gem of a place. Dont turn down with seeing the less number of reviews. It's a fantastic secluded little cottage perfect for 2 with all the basic amenities.the hosts are wonderful and quick to communicate and offer us any help required. The place is really nice and private enough although the owners stay next door. Plenty of parking space and excellent views of sea rolling county side and cattle. The kitchen is well equipped with basic essentials good enough to start your breakfast.we cooked our own meals too. Mind that they are 2 single cots and not ideal to join them into a double bed . The toilet was also damn clean n provided witn basic essentials so you dont have to go mad incase you forget your shampoo and soaps etc. Overall the place was sparkling clean and spotless.we would highly recommend and wont hesitate to come again! Thank you very much

  • We had such a lovely time! We stayed for a couple of nights in the winter and although it was cold and wet outside the cabin was so cosy and warm. The place is very well put together and beautifully styled. Loved the cute touches such as the handmade soap bar and it's well stocked with other environmentally friendly products. There is a handy utility outhouse with washing machine and dryer and anything else you might need. The cabin feels very private and we loved the enclosed garden facing the sunset where we could let our dog wander around without any worries. It's very comfortable and perfect for any season not to mention it's the ideal location for a quiet beach holiday with such lovely beaches nearby. We're already thinking of coming back in a few months!

  • Barbara & Alan’s cottage is wonderful and cosy. The road noise was of no concern. The view was wonderful, at night you can see a sky full of stars - it’s magical. Super clean, super cosy, lots of space!

    Laura2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this house for our contractors who were working nearby. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and was a great place for the guys to come home to after a long, cold day on a construction site. The log burner, with a generous supply of logs, was especially well received. The house is spacious, and there are 3 different areas to relax. The kitchen was very well equipped and everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again if the need arises.

    Kate2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage that fitted our family’s needs. More spacious then excepted and communication with directions was great! We will be returning!

  • Fantastic cottage, great location for exploring.

    Scott2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a very picturesque place. We loved sitting outside on the patio and watching the cows in the field. Such incredible views. Very close by to New Quay which was just a short 15 min drive away. We went on 2 fishing boat trips run by Epic Fishing which are to be thoroughly recommended if you like fishing. The second trip we caught 16 mackerel! The outside space is very nice which a lawned area to one side and the patio to the other, not a huge garden but plenty big enough and with it backing onto the field it feels a lot bigger. Plenty big enough for our dog who really loved it. Everywhere was extremely clean and we made use of the wood burning stove in the evening when it got a little chilly which was very nice. Bed was very comfy too. We had everything there we could think of and had a very enjoyable trip. Thank you so much :-)

Maes y Môr is a one bedroomed flat that is attached to our bungalow set in glorious countryside. Having recently renovated the bungalow and rediscovered the enchantment and uniqueness here on the Welsh coast, we had to share it with you. From the quaint historical cove at Cei Bach with its lush green wooded outreach, to the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula; all this can be enjoyed alongside an evening meal in the garden or an after dinner sunset stroll.
The utility / kitchen is fully equipped with a small oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster and all saucepans, crockery and utensils which you may need for your stay. The bedroom is equipped with a double bed, tv, table and chairs, sofa, clothes rail, bedside tables and dressing table. The bedroom has patio doors which lead out to the front garden and parking area (for two cars) and leads around to the rear garden. The bathroom consists of a shower, wc and washbasin.

  • We were warm and comfortable at Ceris’s annexe despite the wet and windy January weather ! The accommodation had everything we needed for our short stay and we found Ceris very helpful and friendly . The location is great for New Quay and Aberaeron and only a short walk from the coastal path . Great location for walking . Would definitely return if heading to the area again

  • I really enjoyed my stay here, it was very private, comfortable, clean , well equipped, and tranquil, with amazing views of the hills and coast, also it is all on one level which is excellent if you have any mobility problems, and last but not least it has two wonderful and welcoming hosts. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • Very kind people. We booked last minute, they had everything we needed and were sure to make us feel comfortable. They even gave us some of their delicious homemade apple and beetroot chutney made with apples collected in the area.

A brand new eco house with hot tub, perched quite dramatically in the trees, above a stream, just 2 miles from Newquay and half a mile from Cei Bach Beach. It offers a relaxing retreat from the bustle of Newquay yet is in walking distance (by beach when the tide is out, or by road) or a short car ride (approx 5 minutes) or bus journey away. The Wales Coastal Path is a short walk from the house. 2 bedrooms (double + twin) + sofa bed in lounge . 2 bathrooms. Free Wifi. Parking for 2 cars.
  • A lovely setting with birdsong and a babbling stream. Such a lovely house to return to after a day off exploring

    Gareth2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Currently en route home after a fantastic weekend. Loved everything about the house and location. Despite the weather we thoroughly enjoyed hours in the hot tub, walks into New Quay, Cai Beach and exploring Devils Bridge. A must visit if you stay with Michael. On our last evening unfortunately we had a temporary self inflicted power cut however Michael was quick to respond to our message all being very late in the evening. We would highly recommend staying! Christina & Alex

  • This is an incredible place to stay, both indoors and outdoors. It has been designed brilliantly. Despite being February, we always felt warm and cozy, even without the underfloor heating on. The showers were fabulous and had an abundance of hot water. Kitchen well equipped and well thought out. The hot tub was fantastic and we used it every night under the stars. The location is great too and only 5 minutes from New Quay and about 15 minute walk with two children to the coast.

    Rach2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • You must book this, it does not dissapoint. The whole house is beautiful, outside is a beautiful stream along with the hot tub. Perfect to relax after walking , great location not far too get to where you want to go. A place to re visit.

  • We had a lovely time in Michaels house. It was very clean, had everything we needed and was a good space for afew days away. The outside space is the cherry on the cake, secluded & peaceful. We enjoyed the hot tub and I can imagine in the summer (we went January) you could spend all day on the terrace by the stream. Michael was super quick to respond to a query I sent and the house had lots of info on local things to do. We loved the eco friendly aspects of the house too and enjoyed looked through the book of how the property was built. If we ever return to the area we would re-book Michaels house without a doubt

    Nicola2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, with an amazing host and with an entire file box full of information about the local area

Llanarth is a beautiful, quaint village, situated perfectly to explore the natural beauty of the West Wales coast. It lies between the harbour towns of Newquay and Aberaeron where you can find your fair share of local pubs, restaurants and hand craft stores, it is also just a 30 minute drive to the lively university city of Aberystwyth.
  • Great space from which to explore the coast or, as in our case, to attend a specific family event. We found and booked Michael’s place really easily on the Airbnb app, Michael’s communication was quick, clear and helpful! On the day of our visit we were able to find Michael’s place easily using Michaels instructions and would have gained access using the instructions provided if we had not been kindly greeted, introduced to the space and fed Welsh cakes! :) I’m not committing Michael to this last additional touch every time but, we appreciated it very much. Thank you. Michael’s space is a compact loft above a double garage, everything needed for a stay is there, a small kitchen, seating area, a double bed and an ensuite. Access is through the garage and there is a narrow stair to negotiate but, we are both able bodied and did this without difficulty. Once in the loft the first impression is one of warmth and welcome after a lengthy drive to get here. Like all lofts there is restricted head space into the eaves but, I’m 5’11’ and not small and found no meaningful restriction. Our visit has been in winter but the loft was warm, cosy and comfortable throughout the evening and night; I’m sure it is also great at other times of the year! Many thanks for hosting us Michael, we highly recommend your loft! Best wishes. Mark

  • Michael and Sue were great hosts. The welsh cakes on arrival were delicious (even better that they were warm!), the location was perfect, and use of the gym/ pool table/ ping pong table was a great plus! Plenty of amenities to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you 😊

  • Great stop off point for bike ride down the West coast

    Harry2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • A spotlessly clean, compact flat with everything you need for a very comfortable and warm stay. A selection of breakfast cereals are provided, together with milk in the fridge on arrival. The location is very convenient for visits to the many lovely locations along this coast. Michael's directions are easy to follow and take you straight to the property. Highly recommended.

    Christopher2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loft is exactly as pictured on AirBnB. Separate entrance through garage. Only note is it Has steep narrow steps, if you have bad knees could be bit hard... The hosts are so friendly and outgoing.

  • This loft space is tremendously well built, thoughtfully put together and perfect for one person or a couple. It had all we needed in that space, at a great price and within a short distance of beautiful places.

  • While Aberaeron is a hidden gem if West Wales, this property is truly the hidden gem of Aberaeron, all thanks to the amazing space and wonderful hospitality we received. The house is a cosy and welcoming base from which you can explore the local area. The pics look great but I can’t help feeling they still don’t do the house justice. The kitchen is fabulous and I love the vinyl collection... a really nice touch. The perfect place for a couple or family to spend time. I’d love to come back in the summer.

  • Had an absolutely brilliant time at Rachel’s place! The house was spotless and there were so many thoughtful touches which we really appreciated. The lay-z-spa is absolutely fantastic and the garden was totally dog proof which is brilliant for piece of mind! Already trying to find dates for a return visit!

    Lucy2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel’s farmhouse cottage was absolutely wonderful. We were there for a week and didn’t want to leave... so many good things I don’t know where to start! Rachel left some thoughtful goodies for us, the house was super clean, quiet (last farm at the end of a lane surrounded by pastures and sheep), the spa was fantastic, hot shower too, huge comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, cosy log burner, child friendly (safety gates on stairs), combo washer dryer, etc. Could not have asked for anything better. We got to meet Rachel too and chat for awhile... she is so down to earth and lovely. She kindly showed us the other rental attached to ours since we’re interested in renting with friends sometime. She shared with us more of the history behind spaces and how they were before renovation. She clearly loves this childhood holiday home of hers and is working hard to preserve it for other families to enjoy. Would recommend without hesitation and would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks Rachel! :)

Our Nordic influenced cabin is a modern take on a traditional Welsh Croglofft- an ideal base to explore the stunning coastline of Cardigan Bay in West Wales. The Pig Let has been built within the restored stone walls of a former pigsty and outhouse. This cosy cabin is perfect for those who want to escape the city, experience unique spaces, overlook acres of countryside and like the idea of camping and glamping but want home comforts and easy access to boutique bars & restaurants in Aberaeron.
The inside walls of this Architect designed cabin are thick with insulation and clad with birch-plywood giving the space a warm and calming Nordic feel. The lounge area features a sofa, armchair, drawer unit, tv, and a selection of books. A shower room ensuite sits under the loft platform. Narrow steps take you up to the double bed in the 'sleeping loft'. A fridge and tea/coffee making facilities are provided in the lounge area too so its easy to make a simple cereal based breakfast (BYO). Outside is your own enclosed verandah with a seating area and covered all- season outdoor camp kitchen with a double gas burner and hot and cold running water it’s ideal for preparing simple meals- like camping but much nicer and we provide all the kit. This compact space is shaped by the thick 150 year old stone walls but the cabin interior has been cleverly used to maximise living space, like a ‘Tiny House’ project, so the staircase is steeper than normal and ceiling heights are restricted to 1.9m (6ft 2") under the platform and at the highest part of the loft. The exterior is clad in a mix of Larch and Douglas fir all grown and milled within 9 miles of the cabin.
We are surrounded on three sides by beautiful countryside with long-reaching views across fields to wooded hills beyond. We are located in the small village of Ciliau Aeron which has no shops or facilities but lies just a few miles inland from the harbour town of Aberaeron which has a number of shops, a cashpoint, a small supermarket and a good choice of restaurants and bars. Cardigan Bay has some of the country's most fantastic and least visited beaches – enjoy the long stretches of sand at Penbryn, the cafes and pubs of Llangrannog and New Quay, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, ramble over the coastal path and find some of the hidden coves. Closer to home explore the local organic vegetable farm and honesty box farm shop (Blaencamel Organic Farm), the magical Ty Glyn Trust riverside walled garden, Llanerchaeron National Trust estate and Conti's woodland cafe, and the Aberaeron cycle trail all within a mile or so.
  • What an idyllic place to stay! I had a fantastic stay the place was better than expected, very modern, quirky and cute. Great location ideal for access to lots of places. Hosts were there if needed, left you alone for privacy, perfect for what I wanted.

  • I wanted to treat myself to a couple of days away on my own whilst my daughters were away and the pig let caught my eye. The space feels cosy and luxurious and I was able to totally relax. I loved looking out at the fields whilst laying in bed. The pig let is in a brilliant location to explore the coast path whilst also being beautifully situated by the impressive Aeron river. The whole experience felt totally indulgent and I loved every second. I head back home feeling refreshed and relaxed .. and planning when I can come again!

  • A lovely place to stay to visit Aberaeron. Thoughtful touches of chocolate welsh cakes for us to enjoy. Very quiet and Collette was absolutely lovely.

    Laura2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Collette was great, we booked last minute for NYE as another host on air bnb had cancelled on us late notice, she was able to accommodate us and made us feel so very welcome. The apartment was clean and cosy, shower was amazing and loved the little touches (tea,Prosecco, Welsh cakes and other little extras). Location is perfect for beautiful long walks and all the locals are very friendly. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone!

It is a comfortable room with its own entrance and shower/toilet room in the annex at side of the farmhouse. We also have another listing now called Justafield - a 2-8 person yurt with all amenities in the field.
The house is an old welsh farmhouse with an annex on the side where the room is situated. It is a comfortable room with its own entrance and shower/toilet room in the annex at side of the farmhouse. It is on a working farmyard with gardens surrounding it. The farmhouse is at the end of a mile long country road which has beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding country side as you drop down into the valley in which the farmhouse is situated. The garden is full of birds, red kites, buzzards, robins, sparrows, blue tits, tits, sparrows and swallows at the moment as well as many others, a quiet haven full of birdsong and spectacular sunsets.
The nearest bus stop is 2 miles away so a car is useful, but we can accommodate pickups by prearrangement. Beautiful countryside and farming land. It is 10 mins from Aberaeron and 20 mins from New Quay and is quietly situated in close proximity to the beautiful Ceredigion Coastline with its many bays and sandy beaches and almost daily dolphin spotting. Central to exploring many areas of natural beauty in Wales.
  • This was my first Airbandb, so I was a little unsure what to expect. Jane welcomed us warmly and gave excellent tips on where we might find the best fish and chips in the local coastal villages when we asked for recommendations. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable, just the quiet retreat we were seeking.

  • Lovely quiet location. Clean, simple accommodation - comfortable bed

    Claire2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant last moment summer stop - thanks to a cancellation we were blessed to find a lovely space separate to the house with loads of space and beautiful nights sleep thanks Jane!

    Sarah & David2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a beautiful place! Clean and welcoming! Very comfortable bed! As stated it is down a long farm road so not ideal if a nervous driver! I’m not! I thought I had gone too far as the road was very overgrown when I arrived. It was cleared a day or two later! Much better! You have to walk all the way around the back of the property. Just for those who might feel lost upon arrival as I did! Might be a good idea to bring an extension cord as I couldn’t find many sockets! Mind you I stayed a whole week so I practically moved in! Thanks for a wonderful property! 💕

    Jo2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay if you want to get away from it all - very quiet. The annexe is simple, but nicely turned out; it ticked all my boxes. Bed was comfy and the shower was excellent; very powerful. I’ll be back!

    Cathy2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away down a country lane, an ideal stopping off point . Jane provides a warm welcome and everything we needed for our stay.

    James2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay on the outskirts of Ciliau Aeron. A quiet getaway with lots of books and a comfortable bed. The house is down a long track—you’ll need a car—but we’d liked the solitude. Thanks, Jane!

  • If it’s off grid you’re looking for but with really good levels of comfort and cleanliness ,this is for you. The night sky is as clear as you could wish for and the sunset is amazing. Jane is a great host and the value levels are unbeatable.

  • Lovely little hut, well equipped and cosy with a small secured garden and sea view! Quiet area with lots of nice walks around to enjoy! We really enjoyed our stay and it was nice and quiet over NYE for my two rescue dogs! Nicole is super friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend to everyone!

    Jess2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and Cosy Shepherds hut in a stunning location. Nicole’s hut is located up the hill from the pretty town of Aberaeron on an mature farmstead overlooking the sea. Nicole’s communication prior and during our visit was spot on and she went out of her way to make sure both ourselves and our two spaniels were comfortable. The hut itself is brand new and very costly with lots of thoughtful touches. The spot is incredibly private, we didn’t feel the need to close the curtains at all, and the view over the fields to the sea is captivating. It’s a little slice of much needed quiet and relaxation. It’s a short 15 minute downhill walk to the town with plenty of nice pubs and shops when you need to reconnect or get provisions. We look forward to returning in the, hopefully, not too distant future.

Is is a privilege to call New Quay home. New Quay is a picturesque seaside town on the Cardigan Bay coast of West Wales. Its golden sandy beaches and sheltered harbour make New Quay a delight to visit at any time of year. The coastal path is easily accessible from the house providing stunning scenery and walks. Dogs love New Quay. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk from the house and we are spoilt for choice with the beaches available. History of New Quay New Quay was once a flourishing shipbuilding centre and fishing port. Whether you are a family with small children who love the beach and come during the Summer months or those that prefer the peace and quiet and the long walks along the beaches and coastal path. We welcome dogs and our house is used to them. Eating and drinking New Quay has some great places to eat and drink including the Pepper Pot, the Blue Bell which also has a fantastic deli where you can stroll down and pick up fresh bread, croissants in the morning and be home in time for the kettle to boil. The local butcher has great homemade pies etc and obviously meat. The local fishing hut has plenty of fresh fish, depending on the season. If you fancy more pub food there are a few to select from, the popular Black Lion with its generous outside play area being one of them. There are also 3 fish and chip shops. Nearby is Aberaeron, a quick bus ride away if you fancy a few drinks. The Harbourmaster, The Cellar, The Hive to name a few. Llangrannog has The Ship a cosy pub with fantastic food right on the front. Dolphins Cardigan Bay is home to the sociable Bottlenose Dolphins. The Bottlenose Dolphins are regularly seen swimming and diving as they follow the shoals of mackerel into the bay. You can watch them from the house. Cardigan Bay also houses the comparatively shy harbour porpoise and over 5000 Atlantic grey seals. A dolphin survey boat trip will give you the opportunity to learn from expert volunteers about the work that goes into maintaining this Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Or take one of the many trip boats which all give a different experience to explore the full delights of the Cardigan Bay Marine Heritage Coast. Cardigan Bay Watersports hires out and provides lessons for most sailing and watersports at great value

  • Beautifully re-furbished house with an abundance of space. Super comfortable beds with gorgeous white linen. Very light and airy house with a cosy vibe. Everything was spotlessly clean. Bread, welsh cakes and milk provided amongst many other things. So close to everything - beach, cafes, restaurants. Will most certainly be back in future!

    Gemma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked to stay at Sara’s place as a last minute weekend break and couldn’t have asked for more. The house was ideally located to the harbour for easy access to the beach and shops. Also, only a short drive from other attractions i.e. Aberaeron. The house is deceivingly large and tastefully renovated. Also, plenty of toys available for littles ones to play with - an added bonus. Sara’s communication was fantastic throughout. Overall, a very relaxing break and excellent value for money. Thanks again Sara, we hope to be back soon!!!

  • We had a lovely stay at Deilen Aur. The location is beautiful, and I loved some quiet walks along the wildflower-filled lanes. The children (3 and 7) had a wonderful time playing with the many toys, books and craft materials; they particularly loved the pirate ship playhouse in the garden. The house itself was spotless, with good provision for cooking, washing etc., and very pleasant living spaces. Sarah was very quick, detailed and thoughtful in her responses, and gave us heaps of additional information about the local area. The surrounding beaches are quiet and peaceful, some open and sandy, some rocks or shingles, with caves and plenty of wildlife to spot (we saw seals and dolphins from the shore). Again, the children loved to explore the beaches, finding different things to do at each one. We particularly enjoyed clambering around the rocks and rockpools at Cwmtydu, collecting beautiful stones and sea glass, and a long warm afternoon at Cei-Bach, paddling and playing in the sand. Nearby Aberaeron and Newquay are both lovely little towns (we particularly liked the health food shop at Aberaeron, with its locally grown organic produce). We had a wonderful holiday, and the children are already clamouring to go back again! Thankyou Sarah and family.

  • My debut experience of Air B&B.....A lovely house in the middle of nowhere....in a good way! Close enough to the beautiful town of Aberaeron where we were meeting friends. The house was spotless, comfy and well equipped. Im a chef and was worried that there may not be the required kit for a Saturday night dinner.....I was wrong. the kitchen was well equipped! Sarah was a great host - she popped over to say hello and we knew she was there if we needed anything at all but was in no way looking over our shoulder. I loved this part of Wales and if I return....I already know where I'm staying!

Late 19th century farmhouse near Aberaeron and coastal path. Ground floor - kitchen, living room(woodburner available October-April)double bedroom and shower room. Upstairs - double, cot, single bedroom and bathroom. The 2nd upstairs double bedroom is available at request to accommodate more than 5 guests.THE FARMHOUSE IS NOT SHARED WITH OTHER GUESTS. The farmhouse is in an elevated position and children would need supervision as there are unfenced areas with high drops to the rear and sides.
Ffyllon Fawr is a south facing farmhouse built in approx 1860 and has been sympathetically renovated and modernised. The front of the property and parking area has recently been resurfaced. The farmhouse is in an elevated position and overlooks the farmyard (the next phase is updating the farmyard), where the old stone cowsheds have been converted into two small cottages. To one side is a level patio area with a picnic table and bench (and a rotary clothes line) leading onto a sloping lawned area. Children would need close supervision as there are unfenced areas with high drops. There is ample parking space. At present the land is grazed by sheep and wildlife is also in abundance, badgers, rabbits, foxes, wild birds to include red kites, buzzards, ducks and wild geese (which can be quite noisy when they fly past!). Pets are not allowed.
The farmhouse is located just off the coastal road, 2 miles south of the harbour town of Aberaeron, 20 miles south of Aberystwyth and 20 miles north of Cardigan. The coastal path of Cardigan Bay can be joined at Gilfach yr Halen which is a pebbly cove about a mile from the farmhouse. Although off the road we are not remote and the village of Llwyncelyn is just down the road (about half a mile). The village has a petrol station, convenience store and a small post office. There are riding stables and go-karting centre within 2 miles of Ffyllon Fawr. Two miles north is the picturesque town of Aberaeron with its multi-coloured houses, attractive harbour and it has much to offer visitors. It has small quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. Aberaeron is a rare example of a town in Wales that was planned from the outset. The town as we know it today began in 1807 when the Rev Alban Thomas-Jones Gwynne obtained a private Act of Parliament to rebuild the harbour. Subsequently the town was planned in the regency style around a large open square. During the summer many events are held to include the Cardigan Bay Sea food festival and the Carnival. A few miles south you can visit New Quay with its picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants. The town has narrow streets rising in terraces. The sheltered harbour and beaches offer many activities in the summer to include sailing, fishing and watersports. Boat trips to see the dolphins in Cardigan bay are very popular with visitors.
  • A great place for discovering the West coast of Wales. The house was spotless and had everything that we needed for a really comfortable and relaxing stay. Thank you.

  • This cottage is homely, comfortable and spacious and has everything you need. Jeanette is a friendly and helpful host. She even baked some bread for us, and left us a Christmas card, which was very thoughtful and welcoming after the long drive from Scotland. We will be back!

  • The farmhouse is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It’s a very comfortable place to stay in an ideal location for visiting Aberaeron, New Quay and anywhere else on the coast between Aberystwyth and Cardigan.
