She provides the best possible experience a renter could ask for. As far as the house it is beautiful and the view is outstanding. I have stayed twice now at it and would be there right now if I could be. I brought my dog with me and she was very accommodating for him. He loved the house and the lake probably just as much if not more than me. The house is built with only the finest materials. And there is no bad view from inside or out. I really appreciate everything Barb has done for me while I stayed there. And would recommend it to anyone that wants a peaceful getaway. You will not be disappointed in any way shape or form. Thank you again Barb and best wishes... Submitted: May 18, 2015, Chris S. - Rating: 5 STARS Source: HomeAway JUST AMAZING!!!!!! - 5 STARS This was absolutely the best girl getaway ever! Adam Bergeron Burlington, VT Review Submitted January 31, 2011 Date of Stay January 29, 2011 We celebrated my wife's 30th birthday while our son stayed with the grandparents. Our expectations were far exceeded! This place is absolutely beautiful, we can't wait to return! I've rented through Homeaway and VRBO a number of times and this was by far the nicest home we've ever stayed in. From the granite countertops, to the wood floors, to the large windows and huge jacuzzi tub, it was a dream come true for us. A lot of rentals are just that--rentals. This is a home. Oh, and the view???? Out of this world. Rating: 5 STARS! Thank you Barbara, for a great long weekend at your lovely cabin. The weather was ideal. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We both enjoyed the big jacuzzi tub. We sat on the dock and fished and we fell in love with Vermont. The view is amazing and very tranquil. Visiting the local town of Middlebury and the University grounds was very nice also. We can't say enough good things about your place and will be back next September for sure. This home was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better week of vacation. We mainly came to the home for the fishing on Lake Champlain. The fishing was amazing. The home was more than anyone could ask for. The views of the lake were fabulous and the home was equipt with pretty much anything you would ever need. It was very hard to leave. This was the perfect getaway (quiet, peaceful, away from it all). I cannot wait to come back and stay in this home again. The hospitality of the owners was great and I have zero complaints about my vacation. I would reccomend this home to anyone. My wife, 1-year-old and I spent a week in this beautiful place at the end of January. The setting is magnificent, with breathtaking views of lake Champlain and beautiful rural Vermont landscapes. Nearby are local stores and restaurants, and a bit farther away Middlebury is easily accessible. The house itself is beautifully designed and equipped with its wood floors, cathedral ceilings, spacious kitchen, large windows that give on the lake, gas stove to keep things cozy in the winter, jacuzzi, and ping pong/ pool table/ dart board/ games downstairs. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground when we were here, but the house was nice and warm. We walked out onto the lake where people were ice fishing, and went sledding with the baby. The hosts were very welcoming- they baby proofed the electrical outlets for us, left some local specialities for us to try, and gave us lots of pointers. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a house on lake Champlain! Rating: 5 STARS! Leonard Calo New Haven, CT Review Submitted January 31, 2011 Recommended for: Age 55+ , Adventure Seekers , Tourists without a Car , Families with Young Children , Romantic Getaway GREAT ESCAPE! - 5 STARS! We finally had a chance to truly relax in a remarkably beautiful setting. Our charming hosts who live just down the driveway even provided a small basket of Vermont goodies for us when we arrived. Although 6 can indeed fit here, it was perfect for just 2 of us!. There is a bed for 2 in the basement and a bed for 2 upstairs with a magnificent view of the lake. The sleeping loft is in the upstairs bedroom and could sleep two more. You can lie in bed and see the stars through the skylight! The kitchen is very well equipped - a true plus as I do a fair bit of cooking. The lake is steps away and the kayaks and paddle boat were fun to use. The house is light and airy and beautifully maintained. This was my first experience renting a vacation home and I was very impressed with how smoothly everything went. The town of Vergennes is close by and has a great diner called Three Squares. Breakfast is fabulous- supper fresh eggs and delicious bacon! The Maritime Museum, which I thought had great promise....was a disappointing bore....hopefully they will get better in time. Verizon cell reception was very dicey, but the owners tell us that ATT works better. We found we could plug our IPOD into the television and we were able to play all of our own tunes. I recommend this property highly and without reservation. I plan to visit again next year! Rating: 5 STARS! David - Review Submitted October 7, 2010 Date of Stay August 7, 2010 Thank you! We had a wonderful time. Your lovely house was the perfect getaway for us, as would be for so many people. While we enjoyed a week of lounging, lazing, kayaking and cooking in, others could easily enjoy so many other activities, like hiking, swimming, and enjoying the many activities that Middlebury has to offer. The house is gorgeous. The main bedroom, with its breathtaking views and large windows, was like sleeping in a landscape painting. And the master bathroom, with its jacuzzi tub that overlooked the lake, just added to our relaxation. Finally, your own accommodations never failed to make us feel more welcome. Whether it was sharing songs with us on your porch or coming by to make sure that the outlets had safety plugs to ensure that our 1-year old was unharmed, we felt like we were well taken care of. Thank you again for a lovely vacation. It was exactly what we needed. PERFECT GETAWAY! - 5 STARS! My wife and I stayed here over Christmas together with another group of friends. It was one of the best trips we've had. The host Barbara was very helpful and the house was newly built, renovated and everything was perfect! On our way to the house, my car got stuck in the snow and couldn't move up one of the hills in VT. I called Barbara and Barbara immediately offered to help me find an alternate path. Within a few minutes, she got back to me and helped me find my way there. Upon arrival, the house was very clean and well-prepared for our arrival. Dishes were dry, the floor was clean, and everything else was in perfect order. Barbara gave us a tour around the house and introduced us to all the games and activities available. She also gave us a very good introduction to the nearby ski resorts and cities, where we could go for ice fishing etc. The wireless internet signal was also a little weak but Barbara helped to realign the wireless router such that I could get internet access on both floors of the house. The next day, Barbara referred me to a few nearby mechanics so I could get snow tires. When I arrived there they ran out of snow tires and Barbara immediately helped me call up several other stores nearby and when I arrived, I realized that Barbara and even asked them for a special discount on my behalf! We had a really good time. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is newly built, so everything is in perfect working order. The jacuzzi on the second floor is superb. But the best thing about this house is its view. Situated by Lake Champlain, it has an amazing view of the lake and the Adirondack Mountains on the other side. We arrived late at night and so we couldn't see the lake, but when we woke up the next morning, all four of us went "WOAHHHHHHH". It's truly insane. We only wished that we went in the summer, for we could not go out boating. Perfect place for a getaway and worth every penny. Rating: 5 STARS! • I can't think of a single thing that could be improved. Barbara thought of everything- from kitchen utensils to board games, the house is stocked with everything you could possible imagine needing. It was sparkling clean. The views are beautiful. It was a perfect romantic get-away! Barbara met us at the door to give a very thorough tour as we arrived. She's friendly and attentive; I immediately felt like I was in good hands. She even gave us a quick billiards lesson! 😆 Can't recommend this place highly enough.

  • My husband and I highly recommend Barbara’s place for your Lake Champlain getaway. The home is beautiful and impeccably clean. The views are magnificent. Barb’s local tips cover all of the must see and do while in Vermont. When not out and about, you can enjoy warmth by the wood burning stove or a table game down in the basement game room. Barb takes pride in her home and makes you feel like a friend upon arrival.

One private bedroom in a cozy, old, family farmhouse in rural Vermont. The community is quiet and rural, but driving distance to many eateries, hikes, and local ski mountains. The private room is in our family home with my husband, daughter, friendly pup, and I! The house is right on our dairy farm which you are welcome to walk around and explore.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Suzy’s farm. Her family was warm and welcoming and the accommodations were perfect and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing, idyllic small town location. At one point, we pulled over to the side of our road from our way back to Suzy’s after being in town just to look at the stars, which were more vibrant than I’d ever seen before.

  • Suzy and her family welcomed us warmly to their home. It’s a pretty farmhouse surrounded by rural area, as it is said in the description. I was impressed by the transformation of a normal farmhouse in such a cosy home. The room was nice, everything was clean. We could use the kitchen and all their equipment. I can definitely recommend Suzy’s place and I would love to come back! Thanks again Suzy, for your hospitality and the apple puree, it tastes amazing :)

  • No words are enough for the slice of heaven that Les and Jenny's airbnb experience is! I was looking for a getaway from the daily grind and I couldn't have found a better place to relax and have a fun experience all rolled in together. Les, Jenny and Les's brother, Bill are wonderful people that make you feel like family and are simply the sweetest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Everything from the comfortable room to my own private pool to the warm breakfast and the lovely expanse of the tranquil farm was what made for a truly heartwarming experience. The greatest highlights of my stay were bottle feeding baby alpaca, Speedy and watching the playful interactions between Speedy and puppy Addy, really great conversations with everyone in the family and a sense of home away from home. The farm is pretty close to a lot of day trips such as Burlington, Middlebury, Shelburne so there are several things to do if you wish to explore outside. I am already looking forward to visiting again! Highly recommend this experience to everyone.

The house is beautiful, roomy and comfortably accommodated our group. The kitchen was fully equipped and we ate all of our meals at the house. The house overlooks Lake Champlain and we enjoyed watching the sunset and using the fire pit on the back porch. The house is great for lounging and also as a home base for outdoors activities. There is lots great hiking nearby. We enjoyed hikes along the lake, in the Otter Creek preserve and in the mountains. The nearby town of Vergennes is quaint and has nice shops and restaurants and Middlebury is not far. They went above and beyond making sure to clear the snow when we came. They are extremely friendly and thoughtful. You won’t regret staying here.

    Regan2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mark & Kesta’s place was perfect! Really cozy and exactly as listed. They were very responsive and gave us lots of good tips for experiencing the area. Would definitely recommend.

    Lane2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Kesta’s place was lovely. The space was better than described/pictured - it’s obvious a lot of time, care, and creativity went into making the suite what it is today. We appreciated all of the little touches - from the artwork to the popcorn maker, French press, and bottled of water waiting for us when we got in. All of their instructions were super clear, and the notes around the suite were helpful as well. Mark and Kesta provided a bunch of great recommendations for our trip (snowshoeing at Sleepy Hollow, breakfast at Parkside, etc). And to top it all off, the hot tub was AMAZING (especially after a long cold day outside). Mark and Kesta were extremely accommodating and responsive. They made us feel very welcome and our only regret was not booking a longer stay! We’ve already recommended this space to a bunch of our friends, and we will be back in the spring once the weather is a bit warmer!

Shabby-Chic Historic working farm built in 1885. If you are seeking modern perfection - this isn't it. The property is across from beautiful Snake Mountain. An easy hike which climbs up to great views of the Champlain Valley. The property is open to explore and relax. Read, write, create, relax, explore, hike. Romantic getaway or a great space for a family gathering, reunion or weddings. All are welcome.
This amazing 133 year old farm house has wide plank wood floors, dramatic main staircase, large open spaces, high ceilings, extensive library, modern kitchen, french doors that open to the wrap around porch, mountain views, sunsets and so much more. We have high-speed fiber optic internet (so you can stream TV and work remotely if you need to.)
Our area is mostly family farms, wild forest, and amazing Adirondack views. We on on Rural Rt 22A. Our House is on the highway - easy to get to but, does have traffic during the day.
  • My family and I loved staying here and will definitely be back! It was worth every penny and I just feel like I found the one gem in a sea of stones when considering the alternatives. Cynthea was incredibly responsive and went over and above when we needed to extend our stay. Very clean and lovely place to stay.

  • Wonderful winter getaway for the whole family!

    LaNora2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Cynthea’s farmhouse. It’s beautiful and spacious with lots of books and cozy chairs and nice views of Snake Mountain. We really appreciated the kids’ toys and books. The beds were really comfortable and everything was very clean. It was very welcoming to come back to after a rainy and cold day out. We met the caretakers’ old dog briefly and she is very sweet and friendly. We’d definitely stay here again next time we need to be near Middlebury.

    Donna2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthea's home is bright and airy. It's the perfect retreat for families looking for a place to rest and relax in a comfortable, clean home. Because it is pet and kid-friendly you can rest easy knowing you won't break or disturb anything, yet it is clean, comfy and casual. Two families stayed together for a weekend while visiting a student at Middlebury college- it was a quick drive to the college and a nice break for my son to get off campus and stay in a homey environment. I would definitely stay at Cynthea's home in the future!

    Lisa2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Very clean. Perfect for families - my 1.5 year old son had a blast exploring this home. Nice touches like children's toys/books. Great kitchen.

The sky dome floods the yurt with natural light. Bird songs drift in through the screened windows. Wooded trails outside your door. Close to town yet private. Fire pit for sitting out under the stars. double sized bed in loft with memory foam topper makes it very comfy. This is a rustic yet elegant stay. Cooled by fans and heated by wood pellet stove. It is not a good fit for very young children due to the stairs, hot wood stove and rough lumber flooring.
Songbird Sangha is a unique place which has been thoughtfully placed amongst the trees. It's unique design gives you a spaceous and airy feel of being outdoors. The sounds of the birds , peepers and owl's, drift in through the screens. Moonlight streams in through the dome or you can look at the stars while laying in bed. It is heavenly for lover's of the outdoors.
We cannot see other houses from our property. It is quiet, has lovely views and privacy. The village has a book store, several bakery's, art gallery, jewelry store, brewery/bistro, pizza, concerts on the green, farmer's market, hiking and more.
  • The place is incredibly beautiful, very clean, and has everything you need. And Ellen is a wonderful host!

  • Great stay in this fabulous yurt! Super cozy and clean.

    Annie2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt is the coolest place I ever stayed. It is gorgeous and has everything you need. It has a full amazing kitchen that is better than most apartments have! The sky roof is the best part. Great romantic getaway.

    Zoë2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was amazing and just what we had been looking for to get away! It was well stocked and we loved all the little touches. While we were there we enjoyed a thunderstorm from under the dome and it was awesome! Stay here, you won’t regret it!

    Jennifer2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely everything about our stay at Ellen and Jay’s yurt was wonderful. We were expecting it to be cute and fun but it far exceeded all our expectations. It’s incredibly comfortable and cosy, charming and romantic. We had our coffee outside on sunny mornings and enjoyed the warmth of the stove and sound of the rain on the yurt on the couple of rainy evenings we had while enjoying home cooked dinners. Have I mentioned falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the birds, the horses, the views, the peace? This is a truly magical place.

    Geraldine2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen and Jay were perfect hosts and their yurt provided a comfortable and cozy space for our stay. We would not hesitate to return. Lovely private setting.

    Lester2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely peaceful no fuss place to stay. The bed was comfortable and downstairs was perfect, there is no microwave so bring food that you can only cook on the stove or toaster oven. Alexa was a good addition to the yurt. We loved having a fire in the fire pit at night then moved into the yurt at night then enjoyed the pellet stove.

    Joanna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the yurt was so serene. What a great space Ellen has created, with all the amenities needed to be cozy and comfortable! The animals were a sweet bonus. Ellen and Jay are great people. We would love to return and spend more time checking out Ellen's suggestions. We got some great food at Snaps in Bristol and also stopped at the local market to get ingredients to cook dinner in the yurt too. (Be patient using the pellet stove, it takes a few minutes to get ignited.)

This is a spacious guesthouse/retreat where you can relax and unwind. There are great views and walking down the road is like paradise with open fields bordered by woods and teaming with wildlife. Nestled in the foothills of the green mountains, we’re just 10-15 minutes to restaurants in Bristol or Middlebury and 30-40 minutes to the lake or skiing. Come explore all that Addison County has to offer and you’ll quickly find why so many people choose to stay.
This is a large one bedroom apartment with tall ceilings and great light. It has vintage touches mixed with modern amenities.
Our house is a 1/4 mile from the nearest neighbor, at the end of a dirt road. It is at the top of a hill so it has great views of the foothills and the back side of Mad River Glen through the Bristol gap. The road is great for walks or bike rides and the area is famous for it's great hiking, skiing or sailing.
  • The house was very clean and very comfortable. The view from the living room on the mountain was exceptional. We had everything that was needed in the accommodation. The host was very kind and knew the area well.

  • Yinglei's place was exactly what I needed for a short weekend snowboarding trip. Great hospitality and good amenities at a very affordable rate. She was also graciously accommodating when I was delayed and had quite the late-night arrival. The next day, looking outside the windows at all the fresh snow in the forest was just exceptional. I wish I had more time to stay and enjoy the place. Highly recommended!

  • Bob was a great host and the house/room was very pleasant. He was super friendly and had great suggestions for local restaurants. This was a great place to stay to ski sugarbush for the weekend—the drive to the mountain is windy and hilly, but very beautiful, so as long as winter weather isn’t too extreme it’s fine.

Located in central Vermont, our honeymoon cottage is the ideal private getaway, adjacent to in-ground pool (pool available in Vermont season: late June, July- August) ) when you stay with us. The cottage can be the perfect technology fast . Getaway from it all together. Private drive and entrance. It is also roomy enough to bring a couple kids and bags if you so desire, or have us install cot ...
We are in a rural community, down a dirt road but very close to Rt 22A with excellent central location to explore all of Vermont. we are a small family (working) farm which raises beef and alpacas. the nearest neighbor is apex . half mile
  • We had a great time staying with you. Lucy loved all the animals- feeding the baby alpacas, exploring the farm & cannonballs in the pool. The farm is beautiful bc of all the love and hard work- that is apparent. I know we will be back again! Thank you Jenny, Les, Bill & all the animals! Your friends. Lucy, Heather & Marco

    Heather2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was lovely, and Les and Jenny were both kind, welcoming hosts. They generously provided muffins and yogurt for breakfast, and shared their smores with us in the evening. The property is lovely, and we were delighted to meet the animals and tour the space.

    Louis2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage at the alpaca farm was a lovely place to have a weekend getaway and enjoy the Vermont fall. My fiancé and I spent three nights at the cottage, and found that it provided us with the perfect mix of privacy and interaction with both Les and Jenny, and the alpacas. The cottage is quaint and wonderfully furnished, and kept cozy with a pellet stove and space heater. Our hosts graciously welcomed us onto their farm, allowed us to interact with the farm critters, and offered us fresh apples and baked goods. Overall, this was an excellent spot to spend a Vermont weekend and we look forward to coming back soon!

    Abigail2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Les and Jenny are great hosts—thoughtful, accommodating and upbeat. They let us tag along to visit their cows and gave us some insight into farm life. This is a great place to get away and relax.

    Dorothy2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Les’s farm for three nights. It was a wonderful trip thanks to Les and his family. The accommodations were beautiful, the sights, sounds, and country smells of the farm were unforgettable, and Les and his family were kind and helpful in getting to know the Middlebury area. The pool house on the farm is a scenic cottage in an area with lots to see and eat;) . The pool is fantastic, the animals always provide something to look at, and the farm provides opportunities for barbecue, bonfire, or just a beautiful walk. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Kate's place. We were skiing at Sugarbush for a few days and her place is located close to that area (about a 25 minute drive). It is a great place to relax after a day of skiing. Kate was a great host who responded very quickly to any questions we had. We definitely plan to come back next time we ski Sugarbush.

  • My wife and I had a great stay celebrating our wedding anniversary at Jeff’s beautiful guest house. The location is perfect - making it very easy to venture out for some delicious meals, hikes and general exploring. Each evening Jeff left breakfast items for us to enjoy the next morning overlooking the Adirondacks. He also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and breweries nearby. We would definitely love to come back in the future!

  • Jeff was an amazing host! The guest house was perfect for two, the panoramic views of the mountains and farm pastures were beautiful. Jeff accommodated us quickly, efficiently and with care. He also provided breakfast in the main house which was an added bonus we did not know about before arriving! He also gave a great guide to the local area. Truly an awesome stay and would highly recommend! Vermont is especially beautiful in the summer time

  • Jeff was a very thoughtful host! My husband and I stayed there for our wedding night and he left us tea and fresh ground coffee as well as fruits and breads for breakfast in the morning! He was quick to respond to my questions and always made himself available to us of we needed anything. Not to mention the beautiful view! I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a beautiful relaxing weekend!

  • Great cottage-great space-great property!

    Jo Ann2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best Airbnb experience I’ve had to date. The space was bigger than I expected, as clean and attractive as advertised, and very very comfortable. A real treat was the record player and fantastic collection of records in the guest house. I slightly wish I’d read the description of the kitchenette more closely because I expected to be able to do more cooking (and in addition to microwave there is a toaster oven, which I could do quite a bit with), but had I read it more carefully, I probably would have missed out on the real pleasure of meeting Jeffrey and Mary Jane and enjoying their hospitality and the delightful nearby restaurants. I highly recommend a stay at the Whitford House.

  • Beautiful guest house in a spectacular location. Very very clean, comfortable bed, luxurious linens , private and serene. Large , spacious rooms, seems bigger enemy then the pictures show Great host!

  • Extremely quiet and scenic stop on our tour of Vermont towns. A bit further away from Stowe than we had hoped, but well worth the trek. Jeffrey was an excellent host, staying in contact with us about our arrival and offering to make dinner reservations for us. We arrived at 8:30pm so it was already dark. Jeffrey popped over to make sure we had everything we needed. I fell into the biggest most comfortable bed and was out for 11 hours. I woke to peaceful and serene mountain views. Though I would like to completely unplug when I'm away, I'm not always able to, so the Wifi let me knock out a few emails in the morning. Jeffrey delivered a pot of good coffee and homemade oatmeal with fresh whipped cream, brown sugar, and orange juice. This was a totally delightful stop on our New England get away. Thanks Jeffrey!

My place is minutes to Middlebury, close to Bristol and Vergennes and about 50 minutes to Burlington. There is much to do at our local craft breweries, wineries, distilleries, Nordic and alpine ski areas, recreation areas for hiking, kayaking, biking, great views. You’ll love the outdoor space, full private kitchen and bath, private entrance.. We welcome couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families, and well behaved dogs. A full variety of breakfast items and snacks are provided.
Apartment in newer home in a quiet country setting. Spectacular views with many attractions and activities nearby. The apartment is the lower level walkout basement of our home with plenty of light and ambiance. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, a comfortable queen pullout couch, and another full sized couch. The full kitchen is stocked with lots of dishes, pans, utensils, appliances and basic recipe ingredients and condiments to make preparing meals a breeze. Relax and enjoy the property nestled in 12+ acres of meadows (through which are mowed paths for walking and/or snowshoeing) and a partially wooded area that abuts Otter Creek. The Creek is great for fishing and kayaking and there is a public picnic area a short walk from the property. There are plenty of other creeks, ponds and lakes within short driving distance for water recreation activities as well. Wildlife abounds and sightings of our nearby nesting Eagles, Ospreys, Herons and many other birds and animals occur on a pretty regular basis. Our quiet pastoral roads are wonderful for biking and many short and extended biking tours of the state go right through our community.

She even left dog bones for our dog that accompanied us. Christine also had a refrigerator full of breakfast foods for our choosing and everything you could need to cook or bake for yourself. She is a wonderful host with a beautiful property and wonderful accommodations! We look forward to our next visit there! We highly recommend staying at Christine's daylight apartment!

  • This is a great place! We stayed during a unexpected snowstorm and they were kind enough to give us both spots in their garage for our cars, shovel us out in the morning, and check in several times. The kitchen is so well stocked, which was perfect for breakfast on a snowed-in morning. Overall, amazing hosts!

Cozy cottage, man cave, she shed, whatever you call it, it’s a fun space to stay while visiting the Adirondacks! We are located in the middle of 25 miles of mountain biking trails, cross country skiing, hiking and snow shoeing. Elizabethtown has a lot to offer if you want to stay in town, or a quick scoot to many other amazing towns. The cottage is .5-2 miles from 4 access points to the trail networks and we can point you in the right direction if you chose to leave from the house.
The cottage use to be a carport turned flower shop turned meat shop according to the locals. It is an open space with a full bed/daybed and bathroom. Blow up air mattress available as well as a pack and play for the little ones, just let me know ahead of time. Custom made old barn wood daybed, bar top and table. Bathroom custom made with old barn tin roof. Brand new carpet so please keep shoes at the door. Brand new heating unit to keep you warm. TV with spectrum cable service, Hulu, Netflix, hbo and amazon are available from the 50” tv. Mini fridge, tea kettle and slow drip pour over coffee for your convenience. Theres a dart board and pool table if you decide to stay in for the night! As the snow melts you will see that our yard/landscaping projects were not quite done in time for winter and we will be completing them as soon as weather allows this spring! Please excuse the yard!
There’s a plethora of biking, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, snow showing, golfing and ice climbing within a 45 minute radius. If you need help finding a place to go, we can help but there’s ADKOE (Adirondacks outdoor enthusiast) a few hundred feet down the road that has most up to date info on trail networks and maps and all you may need for your trip.
  • Bridgett’s place was super cozy and clean - it was perfect for an overnight with our dog. Communication was really quick and check in was easy. Highly recommended - we would definitely stay again.

Private guest bedroom with queen bed. Great for couples, solo adventurers or business travelers. 20-25 min drive from downtown Burlington + BTV airport. Our home is located in a quiet family-oriented development on the bus-line; walking distance to local restaurants, shops and attractions. We have (3) guest bedrooms which can can accommodate up to 5 guests. Please inquire re: avails & pricing.
We host all 3 of our upstairs bedrooms (typically just 2 in the winter months due to limited parking) with one shared guest bathroom. The kitchen is shared by all. We have our own private living space and bathroom in the finished basement where we live with our 4 friendly pups! Help yourself to space in the fridge as well as complimentary tea and coffee. I'm sorry, but we do not offer the use of laundry facilities. Our home is located in a safe neighborhood next to the LaPlatte Nature Trails and walking distance to several local attractions. We are an active couple who both work full-time. We are always on the go and tend to be fairly hands off, but please don't mistake this as unwelcoming. I'm usually available by text and there's a list in your room of our favorite things to do around town! All essentials are provided to include; extra blankets/pillows, towels, face cloths, bathrobes, shampoo/conditioner, body/face wash, lotion, hand soap, ear plugs, Advil, etc. I do my best to keep everything very clean and organized. While our dogs are well-behaved, they DO bark and/or whine on occasion. They are all friendly and you are welcome to say hello; they will likely compete for your affection however dogs are not allowed in the guest rooms for those who are more sensitive to pet hair and dander. We have a fenced-in yard where they like to run around, but please remember to close the gate when coming and going so they do not escape!
Safe and quiet neighborhood located right next to the LaPlatte Nature Trails and walking distance to several local attractions.
  • Tamara's place was very well equipped and very clean! This is a must stay place for anyone visiting the area.

    Derek2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here! Tamara leaves bath robes in the bedroom which is a nice touch when you share a bathroom. Her dogs are amazing! I loved getting to pet them when i arrived, and overall really appreciated her sharing her home with me. I was able to use her kitchen and sit at her kitchen table while i drank coffee in the morning. It takes a very generous person to share their home with strangers like that. Everything was very clean(bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room) no dog hair anywhere but on me after i petted them. :) (just in case someone is worried about that).

  • Tamara was an amazing host with a very comfy and charming place! She is a real pro and pulls out all the stops for her guests. I made a same-day reservation just to stay the night, and she was able to accommodate us on short notice and provided a great stay for us. In less than half a day’s notice, they prepared a perfectly clean room with sheets, towels, robes, toiletries, ear plugs, and Advil ready for us. Hosts were also very welcoming upon our arrival. Overall this was the perfect place for our quick stay.

This small cottage is nestled in a professionally landscaped garden 1.5 miles north of Bristol village. Cozy double bed, dresser, ceiling fan with vaulted ceiling make it a sweet destination. Very private outdoor shower with hot/cold water, outdoor sink, and a flushable toilet within a separate "outhouse".
The cottage does not have heat which makes this a seasonal rental only. In cool weather, an electric space heater works great. The double sized bed makes this a cozy fit for two.
Bristol is a charming village nestled on the western side of the Green Mountains and surrounded by farmland. Hiking trails start from the village or are within a short drive. On hot summer days, check out Bartlett Falls and other swimming holes in the New Haven River. There are miles of cycling on paved or dirt roads in any direction. The famous App Gap or Lincoln Gap challenges start/end here. 20 minutes from Middlebury College; 30 minutes to Kingsland Bay State Park on Lake Champlain; 45 minutes to Burlington. There are plenty of restaurants, from gourmet to casual, serving locally sourced food and craft brews. Our downtown is one block long with an interesting mix of stores and friendly shopkeepers. Honey Lights, a charming beeswax candle shop, makes great gifts. Art on Main features local artists of all genres. Rocky Dale Gardens is a treasure. Music, farmer’s markets, food and brew tours and berry picking are just a few options for local summer experiences within Addison County.
  • Gorgeous little cottage. It was like a dream. My boyfriend and I stayed one night and hope to come back again next year for even longer. Very cozy with a nice little town center.

  • Amazing

    Kyle2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Much cozier than expected. The outside shower was perfect after a long day of hiking. The bed was so, so comfortable. Marianne was an absolute delight, and she had her kitty in her arms when she met us!! If you need a small, comfortable spot to rest your head, this is the place!

    Gigi2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Marianne’s place is such a perfect, sweet, amazing little gem, nestled in the gorgeous hills of Vermont. Absolutely fell in love with the outdoor shower (in October!) which affords plenty of privacy and hot water. Temperatures were dipping into the low 40’s at night and we were plenty warm with the cabin’s little heater and blankets. Marianne is kind, helpful and allows her guests the space to relax and unwind. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and nearby downtown Bristol is all that you could wish for in rural VT with a grocery store, cafes, restaurants and shops with local crafts. You’re gonna love it so much!

    Theresa2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint little cabin in the woods! Definitely a fun experience

    Liz2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location was lovely, the grounds well maintained. The cabin is very clean and the outdoor facilities private. The patio perfect for wine, cheese and a fresh salad from the local pizzeria in Bristol.

    Laura2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely adorable- the perfect weekend getaway for someone who’s looking to have a rustic experience! We loved the outdoor shower and the decor, as well as the amazing coffee that Marianne provided!
Homey, cozy room in the upstairs of our 1700's farmhouse with a quirky family touch, shared bathroom with stand up shower
Our neighborhood is quiet and rural with a very agriculture-based feel.
  • A lovely place to stay! Suzy and Rob were wonderful, kind hosts, and we loved meeting Zee. We were even able to buy some (very affordably-priced) beef from The Pork Shop. We’d definitely stay again!

    Denise2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy’s place was great, she was very welcoming and the room was great! I loved staying on the farm

    Maddie2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky, warm and cozy farm house stay. Highly recommended and great value. Suzy and Rob are wonderful hosts and fine people. And if you like dogs, you’ll love Zee. Memorable stay.

    Michael2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • 2nd stay here, same as the first. Its a working Dairy farm so it’s exactly as expected. Cool farm house with an at home feeling. The hosts are busy working but make plenty of time to be available if needed. Location is awesome, the view is unreal and the local store is super close and has everything you need. A+++ room was clean and comfy. Ps, if you throw the tennis ball for the farm dog Zee, he will retrieve all day long. Your arm will give up before Zee does.

    Joe2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great rural farmhouse to stay at. Quiet with beautiful views all around. Suzy was a good host with a nice family. Would stay again.

    Nathan2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • After reading reviews of visitors to Bob and Suzy's home I was not surprised with my stay. It's a working farm on acres and acres of farmland. If that doesn't appeal to you go someplace else. If it does, you will be greeted by friends you've never met before. Your room will be clean and you'll sleep well in a comfortable bed. While dreaming, put the lives of the people who lived in that area of the house since before the United States existed.

    Stuart2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy was very friendly, the place had her unique touches! Happy to go back when we are in the area!

    Bernadette2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I travel quite a bit and have stayed at plenty of Airbnb properties and this was one of the best experiences we have had. First, this is a farm. It's not glamorous but the bed is comfortable and the private room and shared bath were very clean. We had use of their kitchen and deck and enjoyed visiting the calves and meeting some of the friendly staff. Coffee was available and we even got to add a little fresh milk to our coffee! (I drink my coffee black but just had to try it with the fresh milk - it was great!) What made this experience so wonderful for us was the hospitality and welcome we received from both Suzy and Rob. Our second morning the four of us chatted in their kitchen over coffee and it honestly felt like we were visiting with old friends. We might even try to come back in the next week or two and bring kayaks so we can check out more of the area. This is a great Airbnb experience and I highly recommend staying here.

Cozy cabin with beautiful view of Lake Champlain! Located on Spring St about a mile up from the lake and a short 10 min walk to the quaint town of Port Henry - an old mining town rich in history and home to Champ. The Amtrak train station stops right in Port Henry and is a 15 min walk away. Both Lake Placid and Middlebury are about a 30 min drive. Whiteface, Gore Mt. and Sugarbush are all about 1hr 15min drives. My parents live next door and are available for any needs, requests or local tips!
We have one queen size pullout sofa and one queen size futon. Both are in the same room. There is an upstairs little loft. It's very little mind you. But there are two mattresses up there.
Port Henry is a hamlet in Essex County, New York. Port Henry lies on the east side of the town of Moriah and is approximately one hour's drive south of Plattsburgh. As visitors have done for centuries, take some time to search for Champ, the famed Lake Champlain monster rumored to live off the shores of Port Henry. Even if you don't spy our famous resident, you WILL find amazing lakefront campgrounds, quaint lodging, a variety of restaurants, endless outdoor recreational opportunities, historic sites, attractions, public art and hometown events!
  • Our stay at the Cozy Cabin was wonderful and we would gladly return. The cabin is even cuter than the pictures appear and it is in excellent and clean condition. It was a great spot for a romantic long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin is located on a street near downtown Port Henry which is a very small town on Lake Champlain. The view from the front porch is pretty amazing. The host, Linda, is pleasant and greeted us when we arrived but then was also respectful of our privacy during our stay. The area is very beautiful, as it is situated between the Adirondacks and Vermont. There are plenty of things to do in the area, including excellent hiking, and also nearby cities such as Middlebury and Burlington are less than an hour away, and offer unique Vermont urban experiences (lots of breweries). The weather was very cold and snowy during our visit but we were still able to safely get around and do the activities we planned. The cabin allows dogs as well and even provides a dog blanket. I think the Cozy Cabin is a very good value. You get a cute space, in a beautiful area, that allows dogs, and all for a very reasonable price. We would gladly book this location again.

  • The Cozy Cabin is a lovely space with many amenities including a microwave, stove, oven, toaster, Mr. Coffee pot, and refrigerator. The heat works tremendously well so we were able to cozy up indoors while it snowed out. The house is located right by a lake which is great for morning walks. The highlight of this cabin is the host! Linda, Jeff, and their pup Pippa are incredibly welcoming and kind individuals. Linda (the co-host) is very responsive and helped us out throughout our stay. She is very knowledgeable about the area and has lots to recommend. We really enjoyed our time at the Cozy Cabin and highly recommend it to anyone interested!

  • This cabin was PERFECT sized for a couple (and probably perfect for a couple and one or two young-ish children if utilizing the loft). The cabin looks great in their photos, but honesty looks cuter and even better in person. We especially loved the fact that we successfully cooked all of our meals over the three days using the kitchen. (We brought some of our own cooking things such as cast iron skillets, but they do have stuff there too). The location was really cool as it’s an easy drive back west into the heart of the Adirondacks OR an easy drive across the bridge to beautiful Vermont. To our pleasure, we hiked around both. As a bonus, there is a pretty neat view from the covered porch of Lake Champlain.

    Brent2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Adorably cozy cabin with amazing views of Lake Champlain. We left town alto hike during the day and cooked all our meals in the little kitchen. A great place to unplug. Thanks!

  • We LOVED the cozy cabin! We had everything we needed and more. The space is cozy and homey with a gorgeous view. There was a couple folders in a basket with restaurant and hiking recommendations, which we were thankful for. Linda is amazing ! The pup loved it too! Can't wait to stay again!

    Cassidy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Hosts were great, cabin is beautiful and clean, everything we needed for our Adirondack weekend. Even our pup cooper approved! Thanks again for a great stay and for being pet friendly!

  • The cozy cabin was a great getaway for my boyfriend and I. We loved our stay and loved everything about the cabin. The only thing, which was mentioned in the reviews prior, was the WiFi was spotty. We were unable to connect our phones to the WiFi but their smart TV did connect so we had access to Netflix and other streaming services which was nice.

    Elizabeth2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a perfect fit for our family. The cabin was extremely clean and a great location for exploring Vermont and the Adirondacks. Although the loft is small, my 14 year old son loved it. Thanks Linda for being a great host!

This cozy, private one-bedroom two-level Victorian carriage house is down the street from the Middlebury Inn. A short walk downtown Middlebury in one direction or fields and woods in the other, this is a comfortable and charming retreat in a great location.
The carriage house is a separate building adjacent to our private home. The first level includes a bathroom with a shower, and an eating area with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and cute drop-leaf table. Upstairs is a large open area with a comfortable queen-size bed and a living area with a couch, chairs, cable tv and desk. This space has is ideal for two people. For additional guests, we can provide an air mattress in the same large room as the bed. (Please note that we do not automatically set up the air mattress for bookings for two guests. If you wish to request it, please message us. We charge an additional $20/day for bookings that use the air mattress.) Note: There have been a few minor changes to the furnishings since these photos were taken.
The property is in a fantastic location. It is less than a quarter mile to the grocery store, natural foods co-op, laundry mat, and Bagel Shop. It's only a quarter mile more into downtown Middlebury, which has lovely shops, restaurants and bars. Keep walking and you'll arrive at Middlebury College, which is one mile from our house. Our house is also a quarter of a mile from two different trail heads of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), an 18 mile walking path around our town. You can easily take a 3 mile hike directly from your door and enjoy the woods and views from Chipman Hill.
  • Very comfortable and clean, great location. We would stay there again.

  • My husband and I loved staying here for a few days. The space has real charm - kind of a funky arrangement with the bathroom & kitchen-like facilities downstairs, but very cozy and comfortable. Caitlin & Andy are great, laid-back hosts & there was lots of good local information provided. We enjoyed our stay in Middlebury and would recommend a stop at the excellent Art Museum at the College. It's free!

  • This place was wonderful! I stayed in the dead of winter when the temps dipped below freezing. The space was warm and the shower was hot. And the bed was so very comfortable. The hosts also provided a variety of Keurig coffee and teas, cream in the fridge, plates and utensils, etc. There is even an induction stove top (that I didn't use). And the location in Middlebury was perfect. I appreciated my host coming out to greet me and offer local restaurant tips, etc. She was so friendly. Perfect stay.

  • I found the Carriage House an ideal location for a long weekend in Middlebury. The interior is beautifully restored and sparkling clean. It is comfortable yet stylish and very close to downtown Middlebury and the college. I have already booked my next stay and in the Spring.

  • We loved staying at Caitlin and Andy’s place. It is walking distance to the town of Middlebury and the space was clean and comfortable.

This cozy compact cottage is in a rural setting and off the beaten path. It is about a 12 minute drive to Middlebury where you can find shops, restaurants and Middlebury College. Burlington is about 40 minutes north of where we are located. Hiking/skiing in the Green Mountains, fly fishing in the nearby New Haven River, boating/swimming on Lake Champlain, and enjoying the many local craft breweries and wineries are some of the many activities you have access to from this beautiful spot.
This is a completely refurbished small compact cottage with it's own yard and private driveway, located in a beautiful rural country setting. There is a small, separate bedroom with a cozy double bed and a comfortable full size pullout couch in the living room/kitchen area, a full size bathroom with a tub/shower combo, and a well equipped kitchen. Entry into the cottage is thru a spacious mudroom, an ideal space to store skiing, fishing/hiking equipment, or bikes. A comfortable deck off the front of the cottage can be accessed either from inside or outside the cottage.
The neighborhood is quiet with the ability to see other neighbors homes, but far enough away from them for complete privacy. We are surrounded by many trees and fields and enjoy a beautiful view of the Green Mountains. If you are an early riser, there are some amazing sunrises.
  • This place is absolutely spectacular. Writing this review is akin to shooting myself in the foot......I travel to watch my daughter, Middlebury Hockey player, play and sometimes just to visit. The location is just 12 minutes from the Middlebury College Rink and is absolutely homey! The facilities are beautiful, the linens exquisite (including quilts), breakfast clearly meets everyone's needs and to top that off, there are fresh flowers. Need I say more?

  • Just a lovely little cottage house, perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle. We stayed here for just one night during a quick vacation to Middlebury. It was the perfect distance, easy to find, and the drive offered us gorgeous views of the mountains and some local historic buildings. Marcia was very communicative, and we had everything we could have needed.

    Robin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great place to stay and the host thought of anything and everything you might need

  • Perfect weekend/mid week getaway spot

    Shawn2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage that is perfect for one or two people. It is a few minutes from the center of New Haven giving it the feel of being out in the country yet close to larger towns such as Middlebury or Vergennes. It is easy to get to and find just off of Route 7, and the host's directions are thorough and clear. There are beautiful views of the Green Mountains. The cottage was immaculate with nice touches of fresh flowers. The accommodations are simple and comfortable: a small couch and rocking chair in the living area, small table in the kitchen, a double bed, and a bathroom with a tub and shower. The kitchen has all of the appliances and dishes one needs for cooking all meals. There is no dishwasher or disposal, but that is not terribly necessary. The kitchen has staples needed for cooking (salt, pepper, etc), and the host supplies food and the usual drinks for breakfast, eggs, English muffins, several yogurts, blueberry muffins, energy bars, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. The wifi is excellent, which means that if you really want media entertainment, you can use your computer, but why not enjoy the peace, quiet, and natural beauty that surrounds you? There is a heating and airconditioning unit that was perfect for the former. I was staying in winter with temperatures around 0 degrees F outside, but I was quite comfortable inside.

    Jerry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia's place is an absolute gem. It is perfect for any solo travelers or couples in terms of its privacy, spaciousness, and the amazing hospitality Marcia provides. Marcia provided very thoughtful snacks and foods during my stay which I enjoyed thoroughly, and she was a swift message/text away whenever I needed anything. The pictures are accurate to what you can expect, and the place was sparkling clean, which is always of the most importance when I book through airbnb. It is a short drive from downtown Bristol, as well as many ski resorts in the area. I could not have been more satisfied with my stay. I strong recommend Marcia as a hostess and her beautiful cottage to anyone that may be interested.

Bell House B&B sits on a rise overlooking the Otter Creek in historic Weybridge, Vermont. We are 1/2 mile from Middlebury College, and 3/4 mile from downtown Middlebury. Spacious room with private bath; continental breakfast included. Note: Please do not enter a reservation for anyone other than yourself and your party. Thanks!
Bell House B&B is the second oldest house in Weybridge--built in 1801--and it sits right next to the oldest house, dating from the 1780s.

  • Bell House is an amazing location for a visit to Middlebury! We have stayed numerous times (in both rooms) and just love the home and hosts (and breakfast!)! Proximity to the college, town of MIddlebury and easy drive to Burlington make the Bell House a perfect location! Thank you Jeff!!!

  • Bell House is a uniquely appointed old home in the perfect location for us to walk where we needed to go in Middlebury! Jeff and Christina are great hosts ... prepared coffee and light breakfast foods for us in the morning. The Garden room and bathroom were very clean. Our son and his family stayed in the King-sized room down the hall ... a wonderful space for them to stretch out in the evening after a full day. We’ll be staying at Bell House again soon!

  • Bell House is a lovely home on beautifully landscaped grounds less than a mile from downtown Middlebury. The Garden Room is cozy, with a great bed and a beautiful newly renovated bathroom. Jeff made check in a breeze, with clear communication. A nice breakfast tops it off!

  • This is our third time staying at Jeff’s place. The home is perfect. Looking forward to our next stay!

  • Bell House is in a quiet by nature surrounded place in walking distance into Middlebury and 4 Min car ride to the College. During the summer months you’ll enjoy the wonderful plants and flowers around this airbnb. A larger pool by the house makes it a wonderful combo for a summer vacation! Also should you have any time there’s a variety of books to entertain you . Breakfast and coffee in the dining room were just what we needed :-) Check in was a breeze-Jeff send simple instructions well ahead so we were prepared. If you travel from out of state download offline maps for travel-spotty cell coverage could affect your communication. So glad there’s WIFI at the Bell House!

  • Amazing place to stay! Jeff was more than flexible as our arrival got later and later thanks to traffic. He was warm and friendly and showed us the space. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced from an Airbnb. Breakfast was amazing, the pool looked so inviting. The house was immaculate and they generously provided us with everything we could have asked for. The location is perfect, so close to so many things we wanted to see. A real pleasure to stay there! • Charming cottage within 2 min walk of Lake Champlain. Beautiful and peaceful setting with great amenities (e.g. fully equipped kitchen). Host Zubeda is super friendly and responsive - ready to answer any question you might have. We loved our Thanksgiving weekend stay.

  • This was a great place to stay! We were within an hour of Lake Placid, Whiteface and Ausable Chasm. We decided to go to Burlington, VT for the day and that was only an hour and a half away. Zubeda states that this is a bare bone house but I thought it had everything we needed! The dogs loved the outdoor area and so did we. Jambz in Westport has the best breakfast sandwiches and the marina folk were extremely friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back to Westport!

  • Zubeda was a great host. She had lots of information about the house and the surrounding area and was great with communication. The house is bare bones but very functional and exactly how Zubeda described it. The newly built back poach was definitely a plus and well used because of its privacy. There was enough hot water for 8 of us to shower which I thought was impressive. Great little cabin in the woods.

    Madison2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful area, with lots to do! Lake Champlain is beautiful and swimming during the hot summer days was refreshing. The house was charming and had everything we needed and more! Would definitely visit again

    Astra2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • First time using Airbnb. Was a bit nervous as to what to expect. Zubeda replied very quickly to my questions, had a great house manual that had literally everything needed right in it...plus the house was larger than expected! We didn't use the conoe as much as I thought we would but it was nice knowing it there if we wanted. The marina is just a few minutes from the house, we rented a boat and spent 5 hours on Lake Champlain (you can rent tubes, water skis and kayaks right there as well) General store very close to the House. Very quiet, very relaxing and all the kids appreciated the break from phones, tablets and xbox! Looking forward to another stay in the fall!

  • Sojourn camp was exactly what I needed! It's the perfect base camp for all your Adirondack adventures. I was especially delighted by the extra touches inside the tent: from a wood stove, to a small writing desk, to a thoughtful fold-away table that was perfect for setting up my camp kitchen. If you're looking for a place to camp that has just the right amount of pizzazz, look no further. Corey's even got you covered if you forgot something important. I highly recommend this site. And I know I'll be back. (My favorite thing: the fresh wood smell of the newly built deck. Don't know how long it'll last, but I just love it!)

Welcome to The Barn at Grousewood. During these unique times, we are happy to provide an escape to the woods to relax or work in isolation and to decompress. We are following the CDC cleaning guidelines to ensure the safest environment we can for our guests. Located 35 minutes from Burlington, 30 minutes from Middlebury. We have great hiking trails for exploring the woods full of wildlife. Enjoy a fire outside or read and relax in front of the hearth. A private and peaceful retreat.
We have a kitchenette if you want to cook. Looking for things to do? We are proud to boast that Vermont has the most breweries per capita and is home to one of the largest cideries in the US, Woodchuck Cider located in Middlebury. We also have some great local distilleries and even a few vineyards that remain open in the winter for tastings. If skiing or riding is in your plans, we are anywhere from a 40 to 75 minute drive from such great places as SugarBush, Bolton Valley, Mad River, Stowe, Killington, Pico or the Middlebury College Snowbowl. Visit Bristol, Middlebury or Vergennes for unique Vermont gifts and local art. The barn is a perfect get away. Come and enjoy all that quiet country living in Vermont has to offer.
We live on a dirt road. If you are visiting us in the winter, it would be important for you to have an all wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicle, or good snow tires to get up our driveway.
  • This place was amazing. The space was perfect and so many things to do but sitting by the fire was preferred. Everything you need to make meals, play games and enjoy yourself is there. Highly recommend. The place had so many cute touches!!

  • Excellent spot for a getaway in the mountains. Kris and Brian thought of everything! The place was clean, and communication was easy. We loved having Murphy greet us, and he got along well with our dog, Daisy. Remember to read through instructions before you arrive though— cell service is spotty when you are in the area.

  • If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, Grousewood barn is the place to go! We returned for a second stay and brought along our dog! They had a special little doggie bag waiting for her with some treats and a ball! It was a sweet welcome gesture. Kris and Brian’s place is perfect for a cozy trip to unwind and is close to some breweries and delicious restaurants! We enjoyed a day of snowshoeing on their property trails along with their super friendly dog, Murphy! We’ll be returning again and look forward it!

  • A perfect little couples getaway! Neat, clean and cozy with funky New England decor. If you're looking for a little taste of VT, you'll find it here. We only wish we could have taken advantage of the outdoor fire pit and Adirondack chairs, but.... we were there in February for Valentine's Day. It was 8 degrees F below zero that night. The Barn is across the driveway from the house, but all windows face away from the house so you do have privacy, and the windows have nice shades. Never met our hosts. They respected out privacy. We did meet Murphy the next morning, and he was very friendly and well behaved. Word of of warning if you visit in winter: the gas fireplace heats the main space well, but the floor remains cold and the bathroom a bit chilly even with the door left open. So bring your woolly socks and slippers, and let your partner warm the toilet seat for you! ;) Again, it was 8 below that night. Hope you enjoy the place

    Peter2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had the BEST stay at Kris and Brian's place. It was the perfect escape from the busy city. We loved exploring their beautiful property and playing with their dog, Murphy. We also appreciated all the cozy decor and thoughtful touches around the barn. We cannot wait to plan our next trip here.

    Heather2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Brian’s place is nothing short of amazing! Each detail is heartwarming and it can’t be any cozier than it is. We loved hanging out with Murphy and hiking around the property! The fireplace keeps you warm and the comfortable bed has everything you need. We would definitely return.
