  • This place was a dream. David met us personally and made us feel incredibly welcomed and like all of our questions were answered. The cabin is secluded and cozy, but if you need anything there are things nearby, too! It was a much needed get away for us. Cannot recommend enough!

  • My husband and I loved the treehouse cabin! It sits on a beautiful piece of land with stunning views. David and Kimberly have thought of everything for their guests, which made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The cabin was very clean and the woodsy decor made it feel very cozy. We plan to visit again so we can check out more of the hiking trails and waterfalls in the area!

  • Fantastic place. Just the right size. Love The loft, plenty of room, everything inside was just perfect! Marshall was great with communication and the location was perfect for wonderful hikes and to go catch a show at the caverns. Only change I would make is the bright security light on the front deck. I like to sit out in the darkness at night sometimes, especially with the snow Friday night. Not a deal-breaker, but the other properties that Marshall has in his tiny house complex are darker if you prefer that. I have stayed at a lot of airbnb's, Marshall is a wonderful host, highly recommend him!

    William2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • For the price, definitely worth it. Cute listless rustic cabin with the necessities. Felt very safe and it was just a short drive to the the trails. The mattresses were not great. But if you’re just looking for a place to crash near the woods, this is perfect.

  • If your staying in Monteagle tn. Check this out , excellent is a small word for how great this place is. Very clean booking was easy and the host Was always on top of things. Wished we could have stayed longer and will be back, was already thinking of how to come back before we left. Me and my wife go three or four times a year and stay at hotels, you never see anything as clean, quiet and nice as this was. It’s like a dream home away from home.

Built in the late 1940's as a working milk barn, the Milk Barn Cottage is 800 sq. ft of cozy comfort. The cottage is near the foot of Monteagle Mountain in the beautiful Pelham Valley. We are half-way between Nashville and Chattanooga, about 2 miles off exit 127 on I-24. The Caverns is about 8 minutes away. Pelham has a coffee shop and quaint restaurants to visit plus all of the natural beauty in our area. We are also just 13 miles from Sewanee and the University of the South.
The cottage is set up like a studio apartment, with a communal sleeping area and a private dressing area with a bath. It also has a fully equipped kitchen with a table for four.
The cottage is situated on a 65 acre Black Angus cattle farm in Pelham Valley and is still owned by the grandchildren of the original dairy farmer. Pelham is a friendly, rural community.
  • Beautiful little cottage on a dairy farm. Reeda was a wonderful host and met us to put flowers in the cottage upon check in and plenty of local tips. Gave us privacy but was available for any questions. Cottage is an old converted milking building but beautifully done with all the amenities including full kitchen, washer/dryer, TV and wifi. Very relaxing and loved walking around the farm looking at the cows. Nearby cafe, coffee shop, and great hiking. Would definitely stay again.

  • Reeda, and her husband, Larry, are the ultimate AirBnB hosts. Reeda is the functioning host, but Larry is welcoming as well. The space offers a uniquely pleasant ambiance in a lovely rural setting, which means quiet and serene beauty. It's a terrific bargain and the apartment simply has everything you need for an extended stay. This was my third time to be there (a week) and I'll back in May for four days.

Cozy Log Cabin on the bluff above 50 foot Miller's Falls. Located in the Village on Sewanee Creek, a sustainable community on Tennessee's Eco-Rich Cumberland Plateau. Hike or ATV miles of wooded trails.
Follow the trail through the meadow to our private 50' waterfall. Bring your Mountain Bikes or ATV's for outdoor adventure. Hike miles of trails on the bluff or dropping 800 feet through the canyon along cascades and waterfalls to Sewanee Creek. There are two beds that will sleep four. But you are welcome to bring sleeping bags for more.
We live in a sustainable village that we founded, filled with loving, caring neighbors. Each in their own way is working towards self-sufficiency within a tight-knit community. We build our own houses, help each other with many projects, raise our own food, keep goats and chickens, maintain a large greenhouse, experiment with alternative energy, capture the rain from our roofs and enjoy life together. The Village features a large amphitheater with stage, barbecue facilities, gazebos and an outdoor, large screen projection theater. If you have a car, you will be: * 2 miles from Grundy Lakes State Park for swimming, canoeing and fishing. * 6 minutes from historic Tracy City, "Birthplace of the Industrialized South", featuring the oldest bakery in the South, Grundy Historical Society Museum, South Cumberland State Park Ranger Station. * 7 State Parks within 30 minutes. * 25 minutes from Nickajack Lake on the Tennessee River. * 25 minutes from Sewanee, the University of the South (among top 10 most beautiful campuses in America) * 45 minutes from Chattanooga, "Gig City". * 1:45 from Nashville, Music City.
  • Awesome spot with a great view. Perfect place to get away from the day to day and just get lost in the beauty of the woods and waterfall. Highly recommend. Grant was friendly and super helpful.

    Tristen2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Grant's Log cabin was a wonderful place to get away from it all but still stay connected. I loved the appearance of seclusion but the safety of having people close by. I loved exploring the falls and being able to hang my hammock up in the backyard and bask in the sun. I especially loved that I was able to bring my Newfoundland Dog Maggie with me. Not many places are suitable or will allow her to come with me. She enjoying laying on the deck in the cool air watching for wildlife. I hope with all the stress in the world that i will be able to come back and enjoy the quite calmness.

  • If you're looking for impeccable modern stylings in a cozy space, this is the spot. The abundance of cooking tools and kitchen accessories was much appreciated for those who enjoy home cooking. There was plenty of sleeping space with the loft above and a fantastically comfortable sofa. There were so many small and thoughtful touches including toiletries and coffee/tea. It's conveniently located about 7 minutes from Monteagle for eats and 30 minutes from South Cumberland State Park for hiking. We would love to come back next time we're in town.

  • This is a perfect location for a trip to The Caverns. 15-20min drive through the woods in a quiet area with plenty of space and privacy. Brandon and Casey were very thoughtful with the accommodations. The space fits 2 people perfectly with a huge bathroom and bedroom and a smaller cozy living area/kitchen with an electric fireplace. Check in was easy with just a quick text for the lock code. Friendly dogs live near by whom like to stop by and say hello.

  • We found The Dove’s Nest when we decided to take a last minute weekend trip and I’m so glad we did! The location for us was perfect...close to home and close enough to our Chattanooga family to allow for a quick day visit. Driving into the cottage driveway made us smile! The outside is so cute and inviting and the surroundings are lovely! We were greeted by three friendly dogs that showed us the way to the door! Inside we found a warm, generously appointed cottage just perfect for our weekend get away! Ample snacks and other supplies are there to make the stay comfortable and lacking in nothing! We enjoyed looking through some of the many books in the mini library and even watched a dvd or two from the dvd basket. The cottage was warm and toasty and the shower warm and relaxing! We can’t wait to come back when the weather is warm and do some hiking, grilling, and relaxing on the front porch! Thanks, Brandon and Casey, for creating such a lovely “nest”! We’ll spread the word!🥰

Recently transformed from a horse barn, Kayak Cottage now bears little resemblance to its former use - the hosts managed to retain the former barn's rustic charm while completely redesigning the structure. An eclectic mix of materials were re-purposed to create the welcoming space - both inside and out. Located on a rise above the Collins River - the river is not immediately visible but is only steps away! There is also easy access for launching kayaks or small fishing boats on the property.
Relax inside or out. Under the spacious covered porch, you'll find a wrought iron table with chairs & vintage church pews, which line the outer walls. (You can even shower in the private outdoor shower off the deck!) Everly House was built with one idea in mind: to Restore Your Soul. Lounge on this huge deck and enjoy the quiet canopy of trees or take the 10-minute hike to one of TN's largest waterfalls right on site. You won't find a nicer, more luxurious tiny home on the mountain that sleeps up to 6 for this price OR on a full acre of land providing tons of privacy! Read, rest, hike, explore, play, create, pour, be yourself, or find yourself: Everly House restores the soul.
GENERAL INFO: Everly House is a 400sqft "tiny home" but don't let that fool you as this "small space" sleeps six and there is plenty of room to roam. Everly is great for individuals, couples, young families, pastor retreats, song-writer retreats, honeymooners, weekend-ers, and those looking to do day-hikes and have a beautiful place to come back to. Everly House is nestled in the Retreat at Deer Lick Falls community and is roughly 300 ft away from the next closest residence. TRAILS: There is a well-marked perimeter trail that is 1.25 miles. The trail-head is between lots 12&11 and is lined with rocks and fresh mulch. Simply follow the green ribbons and enjoy the creek! The trailhead to the Falls is just beyond the party pavilion. It is a 10-20 minute walk (depending on pace) down to the Deer Lick Falls waterfall. The waterfall is BEAUTIFUL and is one of the main reasons we love the property. Sometimes it can be muddy getting down there so wear appropriate shoes. Our 5 year old does well on the trail to the falls but our 3 year-old sometimes needs to be carried as it is steep in some places. Not stroller friendly. :) Both kids do GREAT on the perimeter trail! KITCHEN: Everly is equipped with a full kitchen including a gas stove/range. Because of the small space keep in mind that cooking at a high heat can easily set off the smoke alarm so it's best to cook at low temps, or make sure you have some windows open for ample airflow.
The Retreat at Deer Licks Falls is a gated, private community with awesome amenities, including: community firepit (we have a private firepit at Everly as well), playground, and a party pavilion. You are in the woods where there are lots of little critters so to make your stay "critter-free" make sure you dispose of all trash each day in the outdoor bin, don't leave food out on the counter, and keep the doors shut most of the time.

  • Deb is an excellent host who is both very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and all it has to offer. She gave us great advice about the nearby trails and places to visit. From fresh flowers and fresh eggs waiting for us to capturing our special engagement weekend with wonderful photos, Deb goes the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. Don’t miss this great opportunity to stay in this wonderfully appointed cozy cabin!

  • The cabin was very clean and cozy. The area is secluded and beautiful. The firepit worked great as well as the gas grill which are both right next to the cabin. The sunrise as well as the sunsets were beautiful even though the property itself is located in a valley, yet on a hill there was a lot of light and shadows providing beautiful views. It’s a perfect spot if you’re looking to get away and “disconnect”, clear your head etc. The service was spotty but that’s expected, besides you don’t go to a secluded cabin to be on the Internet ;-). Deb was a great host, she gave us great tips on local spots food wise etc, as well as things to do around the area. And the stars! Amazing view of the stars. We can’t wait to go back!

  • Deb's cabin is a truly magnificent little gem and Deb is a very welcoming host. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back on another occasion. We highly recommend this place!

    Els2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough about my little getaway to Deb’s lovely cabin. It was like having a tiny house of my own with a view I couldn’t have picked better myself. Deb’s thoughtful touches throughout really had tranquility and relaxation at the center of her focus for her guests. She made excellent recommendations for hiking, food, entertainment, and even let me accompany her to the barn to meet her sweet little animal family. She even gifted me with two very fresh eggs from her chickens, which I made for breakfast the next morning. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, quiet and all you need to get away and reset from life. What a wonderful escape. See you again soon, Deb!

    Amy2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and myself loved every minute of the time we got to relax and explore both in the cabin and in Deb's recommend hiking sites. Kirsten and I both read some reviews on the way over and were a bit concerned with how closely someone would be watching us. However the experience was nothing shy of amazing. From the moment we arrived to the time we left any questions we had Deb was able to answer. She was very welcoming and kind as she showed us around. Deb has a great knowledge of the land around her and the hiking trails near by. Which for the two of us was just what we were looking for. In the same sense Deb did not bother either of us while we were there. We felt safe and relaxed while in the cabin. The bed in the cabin was very comfortable and both of us got a great night sleep. My girlfriend being a Kitchen and bath designer loved the little details and selections Deb picked to make the place feel like home. This trip was just what we needed. We both can honestly say we left the Little Cabin feeling refreshed; which doesn't happen often enough when we go in vacation. We can not thank you enough Deb for everything you did to make us feel comfortable.

    Gage2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Deb's lil cabin is MAGNIFICENT! I'm retired military that's travelled extensively, this is HANDS DOWN the best cabin! Deb's thought of every detail, communicated well from start to finish, & shared the best the area has to offer. Sunrises on the porch will leave you in awe. Thanks, Deb. We'll be back soon:) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

    Lorena2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute, secluded place. Deb is super helpful if anything comes up.

    Kim2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our 2nd stay at this charming cabin retreat even more than the first time! It's such a treat to find seclusion and privacy to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of our fast paced corporate lives. Takes you back to the simple pleasures of nature and life on a farm. Deb is a wonderful host and will accommodate your preference for complete privacy or casual conversation and adventure recommendations. Even though she lives on the property, your privacy is assured.  It's wonderful to interact with a host that is willing to meet you where you want to be and provide information or suggestions to satisfy your degree of adventure! She is very knowledgeable of the area and has a zest for life and all things nature! The cabin view of the pasture and country hillside is spectacular! Sunrise on the deck in a rocking chair and coffee in hand, simply surreal and never disappoints! The cabin is perfectly functional for 2 or 3 guests but it's cozy and charming with all the amenities that you actually need, nothing more nothing less! We will return again and again!!

It's very close to the main businesses in Tracy City which you can't really tell from the pictures - this was not a problem, just a little bit of a surprise. Cabin doesn't have a kitchen but does have a large toaster oven, a microwave, an electric griddle, a hot plate, and two coffee makers. The bed was comfortable and the gas fireplace was VERY warm and cozy. Really rustic and adorable - would stay there again.

  • This tiny house is a great place to crash after a long day of hiking. The trail to Deer Lick Falls is wonderful and right out the front door. The house was spotless and had lots of things provided such as coffee and filters, condiments, spices, toiletries. Great little place.

    Peggy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was so perfect! The host, Pam, was so sweet and helped us even at the super late hour we stated check-in. The location is great for both hiking locally and an easy day trip to Chattanooga. We will definitely be back!

    Heather2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pam was an absolute joy to work with. She gave us great recommendations for hiking and eating. She responded quickly and kept in touch prior to our stay. The space was stunning and actually felt fairly roomy for just the two of us! The fire pit and outdoor space were lovely, and fire wood was supplied. It felt really private, and the kitchen and bathrooms were stocked, too. Thanks so much for our stay! Can’t wait to come back!!

    Alexandrea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pams a nice host and we enjoyed our stay!

    Cindy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very modern with cute decor! Plenty of space for 3 adults. The house has lots of extras with a washer and dryer and all the food items and paper goods you could think of. It’s a quiet location but not too far from restaurants and shops. The falls on the property is an added bonus! And Pam was great with all questions and prompt responses. Terrific host.

    Luanne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pam was an amazing host! Everything was so clean and there were lots of amenities. Overall just a cozy stay, will be coming back!

“On the Beech” A Unique, Authentically Hand-Crafted Tiny Treehouse above a world class waterfall
EXPERIENCE FINE GLAMPING This amazing tiny “treehouse” sits solidly on the ground on the edge of a cliff, yet perched amidst the lofty branches of a giant Beech tree that is rooted below the cliff. Hence it’s name, “On the Beech”. Featuring truly unique, authentic and creative craftsmanship, you won’t find anything like it in this world. I hand crafted the Trusses for the barrel shaped roof of the covered porch to mirror the curve of the half dome roof over the bathroom. Trivia quiz upon arrival: what is the dome repurposed from and what other creatively repurposed items can you spot in the construction of this creative space? SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: 1. Climb the stairs to a spacious loft with queen sized bed/couch. Escaping to the woods to write a novel? You will find a built-in desk in this heated and air conditioned space. Close the trap door for complete, cozy privacy. 2. The space under the stairs in the heated kitchen accommodates a double floor mattress that can be moved from the futon couch on the covered deck. OR 3. On balmy summer nights, enjoy sleeping for two on the double futon couch on the covered deck. 4. Maybe a bit extreme, but the open portion of the deck can handle two more in hammocks. It’s a crowded stretch, but for truly social animals, that’s 2 in the loft, 2 under the stairs, 2 on the covered deck and 2 in hammocks. 8 in a tiny treehouse? Wow! The indoor BATHROOM features a spacious hot shower and sink. An odorless composting privy sits just outside the main bathroom. Toilet facilities are shared with tiny gypsy house, Hamlin, located nearby. FOOD PREP: The kitchen is furnished with a 2-burner hot plate, microwave oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, and sink. A charcoal grill is on the open deck in the trees. There is a fire pit just outside. S’mores, roast hot dogs or brew up a tasty stew in a cast iron pot hung from the provided tripod. DINING AREA: With classic “Tiny House” space efficiency, the dining table, located in the kitchen, is on locking wheels. It’s a prep counter that converts to a dining table that can be enjoyed either indoors or rolled outside to the covered porch or treetop deck next to the grill. Have it your way. Oh, did we mention that THE BEECH Treehouse sits just 30 feet from BB the top of a Tennessee State Park class, 50-foot tall PRIVATE WATERFALL? Depending on rainfall, Miller Falls will thunder or gently lull you to sleep. A short walk across the foot bridge is a bench at the top of the falls for quiet contemplation in nature’s magnificence. Follow the trail to the bottom of the falls and to the natural stone bench located in the grotto behind the falls. Cool summer bliss. Take a bracing summer shower with your significant other in the falls. For the fit and adventurous, follow the trail-less creek bed down the ravine over boulders the size of school busses to the next waterfall. We named it Swallow-Tail Falls for obvious reasons. Hungry for more adventure? Keep descending the creek bed to the confluence of Miller’s Creek and Sewanee Creek. The bottom of the canyon (AKA “gulf” to locals) is spectacular. You can follow Sewanee Creek for many miles, exploring caves, underground fountains and springs that gush from sheer mountain sides. The Falls at Sewanee Creek offers even more. From the top of the bluff are hidden lookouts I can show you. Book other nearby cabins (Log, CONEX, or “Hamlin, the Tiny Gypsy Wagon) for larger groups. Or, stay in our semi-primitive campground featuring small sleeping yurts we call “Yurtles”.
I’m the founder/developer of the Village on Sewanee Creek. So the greater Village facilities, including a huge amphitheater with facilities for outdoor movies, a stage for concerts and a Commons stuffed with BBQ’S, foosball and ping pong, volleyball and more are available on request. Miles of trails through primeval forests lead to Sewanee Creek, blue holes and caves. Grundy Lakes State Park is just 2 miles away, offering swimming, boating and stocked for fishing. Tracy City is just 6 minutes away with a convenient grocery store, 6 great restaurants, 2 gas stations, 2 dollar stores and an auto parts store. All this with a tiny rural population of about 1,600. Search google for more area info on my website titled @the Falls at Sewanee Creek” It has photos, directions and reviews of all the local restaurants and attractions. Eight State Parks within a half-hour drive centered around Tennessees’ South Cumberland Plateau Park Visitor’s Center, staffed with rangers who will assist with guided hikes, maps and adventures. World famous Fiery Gizzard Trail Head (on America’s list of top 20 trails) is 10 minutes away. Are you a cycler? The Mountain Goat Trail offers miles and miles of paved bicycling through forests and quaint towns from Tracy City and Monteagle to Sewanee.
  • This was the perfect location for a peaceful retreat. It is very close to some amazing hiking trails and the sound of the waterfall lulls you to sleep every night. The treehouse was clean, cozy, and the perfect size. Grant and Becky were very welcoming and gave us lots of suggestions for hiking trails and places to eat. We made some yummy grilled cheese sandwiches in the cute toaster. I would definitely recommend a trip to the “on the beech house treehouse” for anyone looking for a little getaway. If you end up taking a trip to the treehouse make sure you eat at the Dutch Maid Bakery one morning because those biscuits and gravy were too good.

  • This is a hidden gem. It’s rustic so if you’re not into compost toilets and no WiFi, this is NOT your destination. BUT-if you’re a hiker and you love nature and waterfalls and prestige beauty BOOK this place. It’s truly magical. We can’t wait to go back!!

    Margaret2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This space was so much fun. Even though it was freezing, we had enough heat and blankets to be comfortable. The space is so unique and in in beautiful scenery. Rustic but clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back!

    Samantha2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the tree house and Hamlin house. These quaint spaces had everything we needed for a lovely weekend stay. We cooked, we had a fire in the pit, we used the fabulous hot shower after a day of hiking and wondering the land. Our dogs were very happy too. The owners were very attentive and communicative with us and we felt comfortable and like we could rely on them should we needed anything. If you love the outdoors this is a great experience.

The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls is a gated luxury tiny home community in southeast Tennessee. The community is only 15 minutes from the University of the South in Sewannee. It is also a short drive from Nashville, Chattanooga, and a couple hours from Atlanta.
  • My family loved our stay here. It was like camping but with a nice comfy place to sleep. We love Monteagle and all the hiking it has to offer and this is the perfect place to stay to enjoy the area. One thing to note: there is a trail on the property that goes down to a waterfall. This is not a nice little nature walk. It’s a steep climb down and up so be prepared.

    Tania2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot, very close to caverns for a concert. Cabin had everything we needed. We had a lovely time. And the walk to the falls is so worth it!

    Sims2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet place to stay. Don't miss the hike to the waterfall.

    Michele2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and exactly as described. You couldn't ask for a better location for hiking down to the waterfall. The wifi was fast and reliable and the TV had an integrated Firestick, so you have access to the normal assortment of apps, assuming you're a current subscriber (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). The renter was very quick to respond to our questions. A rock/cement firepit was located next to the house with a fresh and ample supply of firewood.

    Kevin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time with friends state in the tiny home while we were in town for a concert at the Caverns! Unit was very clean, with great amenities while still being a tiny home!

    Michael2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place! I work at the Caverns and found this spot to be SO convenient to the Caverns. The property & the community have so much potential to grow but are just perfect the way they are now. I loved waking up and being in the woods without having to deal with the other discomforts of camping. The owner was very quick to respond, and the check in process was a breeze. The only suggestions I have for newcomers to the property is to have the map sent for "check in instructions" ready for your arrival, there are a number of sites and the map makes it easier to find the place. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering this place! Do yourself a favor and don't just stay one night, make a weekend out of it to enjoy this beautiful location & the surrounding setting!

    Josie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Close to great restaurants and friendly locals. Make sure to visit Foster Fall and the local bakery in Tracy City.

    Monica2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were fabulous with communication. The cabin was perfect for a weekend retreat with two adults and four children. The girls absolutely loved the loft. We ate, played games, and watched Christmas movies. Great getaway and we are already looking at when we can book again. Highly recommend!

  • Phelps Pharm is half way between Manchester and McMinnville Tennessee, about 20 minutes from Morrison. It is a working farm with chickens, dogs, horses, and cattle. The main residence is an updated old farmhouse. There are three sleeping venues--a "Tree House" on stilts, a Ranch House, and a Loft in the Main House. We stayed in the Loft for a week. The setting is very peaceful on a quiet country road near wooded hills and fields. The Loft is quaint, with steep stairs to ascend, but has lots of room and several beds, a private bathroom downstairs, and is quiet. The main house is decorated with antiques and country charm. Susan, the Host, was very helpful and kind. She made a big breakfast for us each day including french toast, biscuits and gravy, orange juice, eggs, and sausage. We went on an enjoyable horseback ride ($25 ea) on their 70 acres. Susan gave us suggestions for things to see and do in Nashville and local places to eat, and responded immediately whenever we had questions. We had an enjoyable time and hope to stay there again next time we are in Tennessee.

    Robert2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Trip was amazing!!! Trust me when I say we were all delighted! Breakfast was amazing. The place was cooler in person. The beds were very comfy! Make sure to book horse back rides, and eat pizza in downtown viola! There were no complaints from anyone in the group!! Lovely Trip, we cannot wait to go back and book the whole farm!

    Amy2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as stated in the listing! Susan was so kind and thoughtful! Love that she share a blessing and sat and ate with us! She sets the bar high as a super host!

    Keane2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was always quick to respond and very accommodating. Be aware that several very friendly dogs will greet you when you pull up. It was a nice and clean Bed and Breakfast with welcoming hosts. It was conveniently located for us this trip about 30 minutes from Cumberland Caverns and 30 minutes from Old Stone Fort Archaeological State park and several other nice nature hike areas. We had a wonderful time!

    Melissa2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. That's the best way to describe this stay. Sue will treat you like royalty, or at least like a treasured family member. She fixed a yummy ranch-hand breakfast every morning and we had wonderful conversation. Enjoyed walking the property and interacting with the critters. The surroundings are beautiful, and our attic hideaway was cozy and private. We hope to return someday!

The bunk house includes a bedroom with a full size bed a kitchenette with a sink, stove with oven, refrigerator and microwave. A gas grill is also available for outdoor cooking.
  • Quiet country experience. Not too long of a drive from the Caverns music venue.

    Rachel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is all about the animals..experiencing farm life..we loved every second of it.

    India2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkhouse was nicely decorated, clean, and peaceful. If you enjoy horses, you'll love staying here, as you share a pasture with some. Susan provided eggs, sourdough bread and some goodies - so thoughtful! The mountains provide a beautiful view for the sunrise/sunset. Wish I could've stayed longer! Electronics: I have t-mobile and had no service. The place has wifi, it can be spotty so working on a computer might not be best, but it worked fine for my phone. But once you see the mountains and horses you'll forget about your electronics anyways!

    Renee2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Farm-tastic family fun! I'm a new widow and came to spend Valentine's weekend with my 3 kids (13, 11 and 4) making some happy memories. We had so many fun adventures exploring the farm, riding the horses, splashing in the creek with the cows... You couldn't ask for a more kind hearted and gracious host family. We will definitely be going back!

    Kristi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very quiet and relaxing time! It is off the beaten path but very easy to find. There was a full moon on my stay and at night the sky was beautiful!

    Amber2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly can't think of enough kind words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Phelps Farm!!!! My 6 year old daughter was in tears that we had to leave, and she hasn't stopped talking about it! The bunk house is so comfortable and has so many beautiful details! It was such a treat when we arrived to see how special it was, and to be greeted with fresh eggs and a home made loaf of bread! The house is so well organized, and we just fell completely in love with it!!! It's so fun to pull up to the house and immediately be surrounded by so many sweet animals. We especially LOVED all the sweet dogs and meeting the beautiful horses and donkey. Susan was the most amazing host we've ever had the pleasure of meeting! She helped us paint horse shoes to bring home, collected eggs from the chicken house with my daughter, and shared so much helpful information and fun farm stories. Her granddaughter, Ashley, was so incredible introducing us all to the horses and giving my daughter a ride! We loved eating pizza at the Viola Pizza Company, and just seeing the beautiful farmland in the area. We can't wait for our next visit to the Phelps Farm!!!

    Sherrie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and decorated nicely, has everything you need. Quiet and our host left homemade bread, eggs, and a very thoughtful goody bag with some handy items. Would highly recommend.

    Sheila2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Susan communicates quickly. She let us check in several hours early. And what makes her stand out then the rest, I wasn’t feeling very well on thanksgiving and she was kind and offered to bring me soup. Very compassionate person. The farm is a fantastic area as well.

If you are looking for a quiet cabin in the forest we have just the place. The Clark cabin is outfitted with 4 cots and additional bunk cots can be rented to accommodate more people if requested. Be sure to bring your own bedding and sleeping bags. It over looks a small creek during wet weather and a small frog marsh to lull you to sleep. It is just a short walk to the composting toilet outhouse and pavilion. There is also plenty of room to bring RV's or tents for an additional charge.
We have other camp spots with more being added so be sure to check out our other listings and our Camp Chet FB page for updates and more photos. Make sure to bring your own water as utilities are not available onsite.
Day trips less than an hour away include the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Nickajack Lake and Bat Cave among many others. Come to hike, relax, bike, explore, and recharge.
  • Ruth and Robert are extremely kind and generous hosts and the cabin’s location is very beautiful and peaceful. One thing to be aware of if you stay here is that driving up and down the gravel road that leads to the cabin can be tricky if you have a car that is low to the ground. Overall we had a wonderful time and I wish we could have stayed longer!

    Veronica2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great value if you're looking for a simple getaway in the woods. Robert was a helpful and responsive host. Didn't have time to explore the surrounding property but the less-traveled hiking trails nearby is a plus. Recommend having an AWD vehicle for the drive in/out.

    Brian2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • They offered me a another rental that was closer to the road due to the flooding from large storm. They were very accessible as well as concerned during my trip through storm to Whitwell.

    Sterling2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cabin in the woods. It has everything that you need if you want to get away from everything and not be completely roughing it. The cabin is cozy, has a nice front porch, comfortable cots, and a portable heater if it gets cold. Firepit and wood were right outside the front door. You have access to a grill, a covered eating area, and a composting toilet. The views were spectacular. We went on a couple of hikes around the area, and never ran into anyone else. If you want a place where you can take a deep breath and be restored, this is the place for you. I will certainly return in the near future.

  • Mark's cabin was the perfect place for a weekend getaway to experience the Caverns and enjoy some site seeing. He's a great host and is more than helpful for anything you need. The driveway is steep but it's well worth it even if you have to walk. The view from the porch is outstanding!

  • The Pelham Pointe cabin is an amazing family destination. The views from the deck are spectacular and sunsets are extraordinary. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cookware. The fire pit on the back of the cabin is another wonderful family gathering place. Mark was an excellent host and very responsive throughout our stay. Make sure you have four wheel or all wheel drive on your vehicle as the slope and curves on the driveway are very steep. We highly recommend you stay at this special cabin that has views for miles.

Our Place is located in The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls, which is a gated tiny home community in southeast Tennessee. It is a short drive from Nashville, Chattanooga, and a couple hours from Atlanta. The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls community is still under construction, but our home is ready to enjoy. Our Place, is a beautiful tiny home situated on a private lot in The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls, close to some of the premier hiking in the Southeast and a short six miles from The Caverns.
440 Deer Lick Trail or Lot 25 is set back from the road across from the pavilion, so if you want a fire outside, or if you prefer to sit on our back porch and listening to the creek. Our house is quaint with all the amenities needed to have an enjoyable visit.
The neighborhood is very quiet and relaxed during all hours of the day or night, looking out the driveway to the left hand side down the drive is the trail to Deer Lick Falls. The trail is steep and muddy in spots.
  • Very clean and comfortable

  • We stayed at Michael's Tiny Home with our family and it was awesome! Our two girls slept in the loft and loved it. It was easy to get to from Nashville and easy to take a day trip into Chattanooga for the aquarium. The beds were comfy and everything was very clean and new. We roasted smores and hotdogs across the path at the pavillion and fire pit, the kids loved it. We would go back in a heartbeat! Can't say enough about the fun we had and how great the home was.

The Carriage House Farm is located on the Cumberland Plateau, surrounded by the South Cumberland State Park system. We are within minutes of Fiery Gizzard, Stone Door, Greeter Falls. the Mountain Goat Trail and Bluegrass Underground. The Carriage House is quiet and secluded and offers walking trails, bluff views, some farm animals and a duck pond on the property. We are new to AirbnBb but but have been in service for 6 years.
In spring and summer come and enjoy the butterfly garden and the flowers that attract them. In fall, the changing leaves are gorgeous on the bluff. Whatever the season the ducks are always ready for some bread and the donkeys love carrots and pets.
We are about a mile and a half from the main highway. We are at the end of Adams Rd. and there is no through traffic. We are part of a 400 acre farm on one side and the bluff on the other. It is very peaceful!
  • We had a wonderful stay! We went to a show last night at the caverns, explored the property, and socialized with the donkeys. We will be back!

    Stacy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the carriage house! Melba and Jim were quick to respond to us and were very welcoming. It felt like home away from home! The dogs took us on a hike on their property. The views were breath taking! FYI, on google maps, go further than where is says the destination is.

    Tori2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice spacious and clean, private carriage house by a very nice trail. Beautiful property and friendly hosts. Little trouble with WiFi, perhaps due to remote/weather conditions but Mel and Jim were very responsive and eager to help.

    Matthew2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet spot for relaxing. We loved the proximity of Monteagle and all our hiking adventures in Altamont

    Lindsay2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the carriage house very much!! We arrived late, after midnight, it was easy to find and get in. The place is sparkling clean! The dogs welcomed us and our little dog Sue 🐶 The trail is wonderful and the view amazing! I felt like we were staying in our own little Statepark with a petting zoo 😃 The location is great, you MUST check out the “Dutch Maid Bakery” and “Tea on the Mountain” 😋 The Caverns are not far away, we came here to see “Blue October”. I fell in love with this area last year, and hopefully will be able to be back soon and stay at the carriage house again :-) Thanks for everything!! Barbara, Nina and Sue 🐶

  • This is a wonderful location if you want a quiet, secluded getaway but close to Monteagle and Sewanee and, of course, all the great hiking and biking trails. The donkeys and dogs are gentle and the gardens are eye candy.

    Carol2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, pup & I had a great time here. The farm is great, we loved the donkeys and the short hike to a great view. The house was very clean and the area very quiet and peaceful. The dogs were very nice too. We went to a concert at the Caverns that was amazing and swimming at Foster Falls, both very close by. 10/10 would go back!

The treehouse you always wanted as child but can enjoy as an adult. I started out next to three trees that had to be removed but you still may feel a treehouse sway if the wind blows the right way. We are a working farm raising beef cattle and offer horseback riding lessons, arena rides and trail rides along with kayaking down our local river in McMinnville. Our guests have the opportunity to experience farm life and assist us in gathering eggs, feeding the cows or helping with the horses.
The treehouse has a studio style main floor with a kitchenette that includes a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, small electric skillet and Keurig coffee pot; Full Bathroom and queen size bed, there is also a loft with a queen size bed. Guests have the option of a family style country breakfast typically served at 8am or can be provided with country eggs and homemade sourdough bread to cook their own breakfast included with your stay. Your choice will be requested at the time of your reservation.
We are located 15 minutes between Manchester and McMinnville TN.
  • What a wonderful getaway! Such a neat “almost treehouse” and beautiful view outside the window. Cozy space for the two of us and the kitchen has what you need to cook some meals if you’d like. We would certainly come again!

    Luis2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Phelps Pharm outdid itself when it built the Tree-house. It is so cozy and rustically decorated, yet amenity-loaded. I love that it's well-windowed for taking advantage of the a magnificent view. I finally ticked this must-do off my bucket list and was it ever an awesome experience! Admittedly, I NEVER sleep when I'm on the Pharm because I can't stop looking out at the Cumberland Plateau and up at the night sky. There's no light pollution so star-gazing and sky watching is perfect from the Tree-house and all around the Pharm. This is by far my favorite AirBnB on the planet and thankfully it's just down the road. I'm in love with the Pharm...

    Holly2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We love Phelps Pharm!! This is our 5th visit and we plan to always return!!

    Shannon2019-12-01T00:00:00Z

  • We really enjoyed our stay at The treehouse! It was clean, comfortable and very stylish space. Susan was very friendly and a great host. We really loved being able to watch the sunrise over the farm from bed! We will Definitely be back and recommend anyone.

    Zachary2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the tree house! It was a girlfriend weekend and so this was a perfect space for us. You awake with the sounds of country life stirring. You can participate in the farm family functions or you can sip your coffee and watch. In the evening, watch the stars from the cozy firepit. Such a peaceful place nestled in the foothills of Tennessee. Very family friendly, cozy, and just breathtaking country. Susan is an outstanding host and will do anything to accommodate each guest. Love this place and can not wait to visit again soon! You will NOT be disappointed!!

Experience a glimpse of life on a humble alpaca farm, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians. Enjoy the front half of this rustic farmhouse, originally built in the late 1860's. Includes a cozy bedroom equipped with 2 bunk beds, private bath, living room with private entrance/exit, and access to visit with the resident critters. Located within minutes of amazing hiking trails and world renowned climbing destinations, yet close enough to Chattanooga to enjoy a day trip to the city.
The front two rooms of this rustic farmhouse were originally built in the late 1860's and have been slowly renovated ever since. Guests will have their own private entrance, a living room with a large table and chairs that doubles as a teaching space for the occasional textile related workshop hosted at the farm. (All event dates are blocked out on the calendar to ensure that guests do not book during any of the previously scheduled workshops) A mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster is also accessible for guests to use. The cozy bedroom is equipped with 2 sets of brand new bunk beds that were graciously donated by my dear friends over at Ashley Furniture. The newly renovated (attached) bathroom comes with a standard sink and shower (running hot/cold water) and a COMPOST TOILET made in the USA by Nature's Head ™. (full instructions for use are framed above the toilet) Guests will not be required to empty the toilet at any point during their stay, but please note that it is a composting toilet by all means and does require a bit more attention to detail than your standard flush toilet. (i.e. you sit when you pee, regardless. If that weirds you out, then this might not be the place for you, and that's totally OK. ) The front porch is equipped with two rocking chairs and a swing for guests to enjoy, along with a charcoal grill + fire pit around back. **Please note - I do not use any type of bug spray, weed killer, unknown chemicals, etc anywhere inside or around the property. That means the occasional bug finds its way inside, despite routine cleaning sessions. If the idea of co-habitation with a bug or two in the corner of a room is not your cup of tea, might I suggest booking elsewhere : )
Located in Tracy City (within 3 miles) - Fiery Gizzard Trailhead (incredible hiking, waterfalls, overlooks) - Grundy Lakes State Park (easy hiking trails, swimming, picnic area, playground) - Dutch Maid Bakery (TN's oldest family owned bakery) - The Grundy County Historical Society - 2 gift / antique shops - 3 season fruit stand (with local produce, flowers, etc.) - Flury's Mercantile (with a small deli, antiques, memorabilia) - Local Restaurants: (Hank's Corner Grill & Bar, Maguey's Mexican, Annex Cafe) Local Attractions (less than 20 minutes) - Foster Falls - Denny Cove - Greeter Falls -Stone Door -Savage Gulf - Sewanee and the University of the South - The Mountain Goat Trail - Mountain Goat Market - The Smokehouse (live music every Friday night) - The Monteagle Assembly - The Caverns (live music venue inside a cave, located at the foot of the mountain)
  • What an awesome experience. The farm, and farm house...local spots to visit in a small town...learning to weave on a loom and so much more...i felt at home. Hope to learn more from such an awesome host. Thank you for a wonderful time in Tracy City.

  • Cozy space, close to town yet in the country. Beds are comfy and the space is clean. Kacie does a great job making you feel at home while still giving you privacy. We loved interacting with the animals on the farm. Great location if you’re headed to see a show at The Caverns or just exploring the local area

    Shannon2019-10-19T00:00:00Z

  • Cute little place hidden away from the business of city life. The alpacas and donkeys were adorable.

    Natasha2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kacie has a beautiful place. It's very comfortable and cute and cozy. If you are a down-to-earth person this is the place for you. Kacie is very down-to-earth and her sweet home reflects that. I felt right at home and Kacie was great to chat to. Very friendly but she respected my space. You have complete privacy if you want it. The bedroom is big with an attached bathroom of your own. The room was cool and air conditioned and there was also a standing fan in it. You also have a large room with a big table that she uses for classes, but it's yours to use when you stay there and that's where the coffee maker and fridge are. There are also two chairs. The porch with two rocking chairs is wonderful to sit on and listen to the critters at night. The place is "rustic" in a good way. There was a special touch of fresh flowers in my room. The bed was comfy. The mattress is not a spring mattress but some sort of thick foam thing. It was firm and I like that. She's got an adorable dog and cat that greeted me as I sat on the porch in a rocker and drank coffee in the morning.

    Victoria (Tori)2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kacie is passionate about her animals, trade, and farm. What a great place to chill in the country!

    Becky2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kacie's alpaca farm is a very comfortable, quaint space. No detail was overlooked. From the freshly cut flowers from her garden, to the Dunkin Donuts coffee provided, she made sure that our stay was pleasant. The location is close to great hiking trails and the town of Monteagle. We loved getting to meet all of the animals as well. We will definitely be back!
