Places to stay in Altus

Places to stay in Altus
Enjoy Arkansas Wine Country in this remodeled 1878 homestead. We are set atop St. Mary’s mountain in Altus with a panoramic view of the Arkansas river valley. Great for large groups or family gatherings, with covered parking, an outdoor fireplace room, and large yard for outdoor activities. We are steps from historic St. Mary’s Church, minutes from 6 wineries, 3 breweries, canoeing/ATV/biking near the Mulberry River, touring Subiaco Abbey, and exploring and hiking Mt. Magazine state park. Enjoy!
Our historic homestead has been lived in by four generations of our family. It has a cozy feel and a charm of a farmhouse. There is plenty of gathering space, including a sleeping loft that has floor space for children to “camp out.” Our family’s father was born and raised in this house, and we lived here with our 7 children for many years. It is a house full of good memories and is set in a peaceful, beautiful spot. There is covered parking for 3 vehicles, and an outdoor fireplace room that is perfect for s’mores, a glass of wine, and storytelling. You will feel at home here, and we look forward to sharing our small town hospitality with you.
We are located in a peaceful, quiet, rural neighborhood. Our shining jewel is St. Marys Church, but also our fabulous view, and our area wineries and vineyards make Altus one of Arkansas’ gems.
  • This was an AMAZING girls trip! Everyone at Post Winery were so sweet and the family at the homestead didn’t disappoint either!! The place was clean, the owners were welcoming and so helpful! They made sure our fire pit was ready to go, gave us awesome recommendations and it was just a great experience!!

Everything you would have in a premium hotel room, except television and WiFi. You are equipped with a Sirius XM Stereo. Located in Arkansas Wine Country seated at the foothills of the Boston Mountains of the Ozarks. The room comes with a wonderful touch of nature and a sunset view for the ages. The view does not stop when you go to bed. The skylight provides a beautiful view of the heavens. Just one mile off of I-40 exit 41 South on Highway 186.
  • Awesome little yurt! Very clean, easy to get to. Hosts also run Dionysus and were extremely helpful! And the view is INCREDIBLE.

    Nathan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We love Altus and we especially love Dennis and Sharla at Dionysus Winery and Brew! They are so warm and friendly! The yurt ⛺️ is a perfect place to stay while wine tasting in Altus. We recommend Wiedekher for dinner. Sharla waits tables there and was our waitress. Such a great weekend!

    Savannah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A must stay location for anyone looking to get centered and get in touch with nature again! Blown away by the hospitality and the views! The sky light looking up at the stars in bed was spectacular. Just go you won’t regret it!

  • Cute little stay! Everything was so cozy and nice!! Wish to stay again!

    Priscila2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical little spot just off I-40. The yurt was cozy and comfy and surprisingly warm (temps dropped down to 28 while we were there). We loved the fire ring and charcoal grill. We will definitely stay the next time we pass through!

    Keelie2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place! Very relaxing and Dennis and his wife make you feel like family!

    Karri2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed this cute yurt that is close enough to the freeway to make sense for a traveler to stay overnight, but sits in a big open field and feels like you’re in the country! Enjoyed the cute touches like wine glasses and a wine opener, and wood in the fire pit. Nice hot shower (if it gets cold too quickly just turn it off for a moment and when you turn it back on it gives you a much longer shot of hot water) and clean and comfy spot. Would love to stay again when I have more time to enjoy it. Close to wineries and a liquor store and Swiss restaurant, what more do you need?

    JoJo2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect midpoint on our west to East road trip. Convenient location, Sleep accommodations were comfy and the property was the perfect spot for our pup to roam. Just wish we could have stayed longer and experience the area.

Welcome to my century old farmhouse on six acres. This house is located only seven miles to the wild and scenic Mulberry River known for its class III rapids. My house is also in close vicinity to amazing hiking experiences such as Mount Magazine, White Rock Mountain or Mount Nebo. Don’t hesitate to bring your ATV or side by side recreational vehicles because Mulberry Mountain Lodging has the scenic trails you’ve always dreamed of.
The kitchen is fully stocked to make that special meal or enjoy watching nature on our wrap around porch.
Enjoy nature by kayaking or canoeing the nearby Mulberry River. There are ATV trails by the Mulberry Mountain Lodge. Hiking is available at Mount Magazine, Mount Nebo or White Rock Recreational Park.
  • Well, I am afraid to write what I think, because then Annette's place will get too booked for my wife and to come back in the fall. What can I say. Annette's place was truly awesome. If you're looking for the farmhouse experience, close to the Ozarks, easy highway access, quite, and a great overall relaxing get away, then Annette's place is for you! We can't wait to return during the fall colors.

    Jay2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Netties Nest! It was cute and charming, and very spacious. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of spices, so making food was nice and easy. We would love to come back, and recommend this home to others who come to Mulberry!

    Mackenzie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t hesitate to stay here! It’s an adorable old farmhouse with so much charm. Annette was a wonderful host she even had a delicious homemade cake waiting on us when we got there. The house is located in the country but super close to the Mulberry River. We had such a relaxing stay and I can’t wait to go back!

Hey! Welcome to our Sweet Retreat! We have a good reason for naming our guesthouse such a name... It was our former chocolate shop!! Yesssss...Chocolates! Our name was Classic Candies and we started our business in this space back in 1986. We are no longer in the chocolate business but do still make chocolates for our family...and now for you, our guests! With every visit, there will be waiting for you, a little chocolate gift from us to you!
The kitchen island top is the original piece on which we made our chocolates. There are a few framed pieces scattered here and there reminiscent of our candy shop days. We offer a nice kitchen, coffee/hot chocolate/tea bar, 43" TV with Dish, Xbox, nice bathroom with walk in shower, and comfortable bedroom with new mattress. Outdoors, there is a fire pit, a patio area and a stocked pond, if you'd like to do a little fishing on the warmer months...or, if the pond water is warm, you can just feed the fish, throw a handful of fish food in pond and watch the water boil with catfish coming up to get a bite! Our guesthouse is on 3 acres just behind our main house. Enjoy the sunset and all of the night sounds...frogs croaking, crickets cricketing, and cicadas doing what cicadas do!
We are located, basically, right at the center of Ozark, Paris, Booneville and Charleston. Mt. Magazine is 39 min drive from here, four Wineries from 9 - 30 min away, choice of good restaurants from 2 - 19 min away, Hot Springs attractions little over 2 hrs from here and Eureka Springs attractions around 2 hour drive.
  • Debbie’s place was super clean. She was an exceptional host. We’d definitely choose her place again.

    Jennifer2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection! It was the most darling little house. It has a pond and a fire pit and everything you need for a fire or fishing. Debbie was always just a call away. Also only about 20 mins away from some of the most amazing views at Mt. Magazine. They also have the most cutest puppy named maverick she was perfect with my daughter. Over all i would highly recommend staying at "The sweet retreat".

This is 1 of 2 guest bedrooms. Both rooms have a queen-sized bed, walk-in closet, a work station and plenty of room. There is a full bath, only shared if there are other guests. Grocery store, park w/creek & wineries are minutes away. Kitchen is available! My 2nd room’s name is, “Super Comfy guest room!
My home is set in a grove of tress on 1.67 acres, making it a peaceful & serene country environment. The room is west facing over looking the side yard & great view of sunsets. Lighting is filtered & calm! There is a full bath sometimes shared w/other guests! Front porch w/swing cushioned chairs & bench, back deck with bird station for you bird watching enjoyment & other wild life. Kitchen privileges available. A grocery store, park w/ creek for fishing & picnics, square, and wineries are minutes away. Famous BBQ in town & other eateries. Many outdoor adventurist destinations w/in an hour or so, as well as city life!
This neighborhood is quiet, neighbors are friendly but polite. Deer come up on the property most evenings & some earlier in the day. Roads are paved and great for walking & biking. There may be children playing or dogs barking, but sounds like in the distance. However I have a very friendly dog who loves everyone and barks when animals or people enter his domain.
  • My partner and I had a great stay in Jelsomin’s home. The room was comfortable and clean and her home felt very welcoming. Jelsomin was so kind and accommodating and we really enjoyed chatting with her. Her home is a short drive from great hikes in the national forest (we did the 8 mile Redmond/Spy Rock loop) and nearby wineries (we went to Mount Bethel). We also loved her sweet dog, Tux. Would totally come back!

    Darya2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay! Jelsomin gave us great hospitality, as did the loveable Tux the pup. It was great to be able to enjoy the property the evening of our stay, and to meet and talk with Jelsomin over coffee the next morning! Easy to find, easy to stay, great value and great company as well, if you desire.

    Tyler2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jelsomin’s place was a perfect stop traveling along I-40. In general, I felt like I was “home”. We chatted over coffee in the morning while watching the birds on the back deck. It was exactly what I needed

    Kenneth2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was excellent! The house smelled wonderful and Tux the pupper was the sweetest and so friendly. The host was extremely welcoming and I would highly recommend a stay!

    Ellis2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great deal for such a lovely space and amazing hospitality.

    Ryder2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jelsomin’s home was welcoming and warm. I was so comfortable in the spacious bedroom, with everything you could think to need. Jelsomin was overly hospitable and took the time to show me the space and make sure I had all I could need or want. I would be so happy to return to Ozark and stay again. Thank you!!!

    Brianna2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jelsomin's place was easy to find and check in to, even in the dark. She's a welcoming, flexible, friendly host, and I felt very comfortable in her home. The place is very clean and hospitable, with some lovely touches. Would gladly stay here again.

    Rebecca2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint little home, simple but cute. Clean, and easy to get into. Wish I could've stayed long enough to have met Jelsomin, but she was very kind and responsive through text

You can enjoy Christmas year-round at The Christmas Cabin. Nestled in the middle of thousands of Christmas Trees this cabin is perfect for a quiet get-away. This is a working tree farm, so depending on the days you book you may see us planting or trimming our trees. Occasional photo shoots capturing the beauty of our Christmas trees can also be a festive seasonal activity you may encounter. New addition in December 2019...Disney+!
Christmas Tree Lane is a working tree farm. We use this Cabin during the Christmas season, but make it available during the other parts of the year. Occasionally photo shoots or other festive activities occur, especially during the Christmas season. The Cabin is rustic meaning rusty metal, barnwood, and a vaulted ceiling with lots of wintery things hanging on the walls (sleds, ice skates etc.) and possibly some dust.
This is a rural area, with a grass runway on the property for those guests who would like to fly in.
  • I loved my stay at Jim and Karen’s cabin. It had everything I needed and I appreciated how clean and comfy it was. I hope I’ll be able to stay again some day!

    Sara2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cabin for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. It's even better in person than in the photos. The beds are extremely comfortable, lots of thoughtful touches and amenities and plenty of things to do nearby. Close distance to great hiking trails at Mount Magazine and a cute little town is close by with restaurants and a grocery store. We will definitely stay here again.

    Brandi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This has been one of my favorite Airbnb stays ever. Not only was the place the perfect balance of quaint cabin and modern amenities, but the hosts were so kind as well. They welcomed us the night we arrived and made sure the place was warmed up for us. I will definitely be telling my friends about this slice of Christmas in the wilderness and hope to stay here again in the future.

    Joe2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible cabin! We loved it! We are really considering going back soon. Hosts will reach take care of you.

    Ivan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Do you love Christmas? We do... do you love a nice, peaceful quiet place that is still fairly close to town? We do... when you stay at an air bnb do you like cleanliness and comfortable resting place? We do... this cabin was simply magical the hosts made sure to give this place a lot of love and made sure that everything you may need when away from home was readily available. On cold nights the hot cocoa and marshmallows were a perfect touch, snacks for our hikes were readily available as well. Zero complaints i would highly recommend this location.

    Melissa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Christmas tree cabin was so clean and so many activities for my children- inside and out. They had everything you would need including hot chocolate and marshmallows. We will definitely be back. This just was the perfect country cabin that gave my children room to run around

    Ashley2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Highly recommend. Very comfortable at home feeling. Kids had a blast watching Christmas movies, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, playing on the large see saw with the adults and exploring the tree farm. Tons of photo were taken on the tree farm and the old truck. Thanks so much for letting us stay.

    Erika2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beyond amazing stay at the Xmas tree farm! We really loved all of the above and beyond touches that Jim and Karen provided. They were quick to respond and easy to converse with, all around good people. Our dogs also loved staying at the cabin! We were able to walk them around the tree farm and through some of the trails on the property. We hiked mount magazine and visited a couple wineries in Altus. We loved Mount Bethel Winery. We hope to visit again soon!

  • Super clean! Charming! The snacks were an added bonus! It was nice not having to go out as the property is located 5 or so miles from town. The bed is super soft and comfy, nicer than your average hotel bed. The hot tub was so relaxing! It was also nice getting to have our fur child with us for a reasonable price!

  • Cabins are #’s 1,2 and 3 from the road. 246 is the 3rd (there are no cabin #s that we could find). Fairly new construction, so clean and comfortable. Fantastic setup in the woods, but close enough to Clarksville for last minute needs or forgotten necessities. Coffee, creamer, tea, sugar and snacks provided were a very kind gesture. Refrigerator goods left over from other occupants a plus and minus...check the dates before consuming! Was nice to have sealed bottled water that I forgot to grab, though. Hot tub had a glitch while we were there, so didn’t get to enjoy it because chemicals weren’t balanced. Hopefully won’t be an issue next time. Cool little place to get away from the city and just relax. Will definitely stay here again!

    Candace2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is absolutely beautiful and larger than it appears in the photos. I comfortably had 9 people over for dinner and we all had plenty of room. It's squeaky clean. They do a wonderful job because it was immaculate. I wanted a place in the woods for Christmas and I had a lovely stay.

Paris, AR - Accommodates 4 people comfortably. There is 1 Queen Bed and 2 Twin Beds. A Queen air mattress is also available for possibly 2 more guests. 2 BR , 1 Bath with convenient 'in-town' location. Please see notes in "Overview" prior to booking cottage with more than 4 guests. Thanks.
Although the home is located in town within sight of the Historic Courthouse, it is still in a relatively 'private' setting, right next door to the Logan County Historical Jail Museum. Paris is Home to Mount Magazine, the tallest point in Arkansas. It is just 19 miles to to top of Mt. Magazine from the cottage. I highly recommend guests do a 'sunset' dinner at the Skycrest Restaurant in the Lodge on Mt. Magazine during their stay.
Our cottage is reminiscent of "Grandma's House" and you'll love the convenience of being in town, yet still in a private setting. There's so many great things to do in this area ! You will definitely want to take in the sights at Mt. Magazine, which is just 19 miles away and Mt. Nebo, which is 35 miles away. If you'd like to try your hand at some fishing, or perhaps want to go for a swim, you can enjoy 160-acre scenic 'Cove Lake' which is just 9 miles from Paris. Perhaps you'll want to visit 5 of Arkansas local wineries which are within 30 minutes of the cottage (including Cowie Wine Cellars and Vineyard, right here in Paris). There are also a lot of 'antique/resale' shops within a 30 - 45 minute drive of the cottage ! This is a great lay-over spot for those traveling up to Eureka Springs (98 miles away) or Branson, MO (137 miles away). You can also enjoy all that Fort Smith has to offer ~ From Museums to 'Cherokee Casino' which is just across the Oklahoma border, only 8 mi. from Ft. Smith. It's 41 miles from the Cottage to Fort Smith ! Of course you'll want to 'relax' as well ! Our kitchen is stocked with all the items you need to cook up a great meal, or you may want to use our BBQ pit and have a cookout, then enjoy it under the gazebo : ) The bathroom is small, but 'cozy' and you'll enjoy relaxing in the antique claw-foot tub (with shower) No matter what time of year you come, there's always something to do in the area. Even in the winter ! Paris is on the 'Arkansas Trail of Holiday Lights' and our community turns its downtown square into a winter wonderland each Christmas season. Postcards could be made from the beauty 'fall foliage' in our area. Mt. Magazine (Tallest point in Arkansas) - 19 beautiful miles to the top from our cottage. Be sure to take in a 'sunset' dinner there ! Whether you just want to get away for a few days to 'unwind', or looking for a quaint place to stay for your Anniversary, our 'cottage' is sure to be a welcome retreat for you ! Come experience the Arkansas River Valley with us and create new memories ! There may be a few rentals available for a slightly 'lower' cost. However, we are in a very 'convenient' location ! You are also getting the use of the entire home. Even though it is 'in town', it is in a relatively 'private', quiet setting. If you consider the cost of 'gas' to stay in a location further out, we believe our cottage is actually one of the best deals in this area and comparable to the cost of hotels. And you can have 'peace of mind' .. We are located within blocks of the police, fire station and hospital ! CV's family grocery, Walmart & Dollar Tree are in town. Washer & Dryer are located in the Kitchen Area. Ladies: Please bring your own washcloth or makeup removal pads for makeup removal. Cleaning fee does not include dishes ~ Please wash and put away the dishes and cooking utensils as they are used. Please do NOT make up the beds prior to leaving... Thanks :) Pets will only be considered on 'monthly' rentals. *** (Additional Notes: Our home has 1 Queen Bed & 2 Twin Beds. We do offer a Queen air mattress, if needed, which would accommodate 2 additional people. Remember, the bathroom is 'small', so if more than 4 guests stay, you will probably need to allow for re-heating of water in the water heater. Enjoy Your Stay ! PJ Price, Owner

  • Super cute house and a great value. Probably the best equipped kitchen of any AirBnb I’ve stayed at. Lots to do in the area for nature lovers ~ Petit Jean SP was great! Great communication from PJ too.

From the welcome card, local tip pamphlet, goodie bag, amazingly clean and stylish accomodations to the prompt, clear and helpful responses to calls and texts, and helpful instructions and tips posted around the home, this was an exemplary visit, and an exemplary host!

  • Ty's place was in a lovely setting with a nice cabin-like feel. It was very roomy with nice amenities. Would definitely stay there again!

    Shari2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ty was a great host, very prompt in responses and above and beyond customer service. There was an issue with the heater due to a power outage the day before, but Ty got the HVAC repairman out to repair it promptly and we ended up plenty warm. It's about a half hour drive from the Mount Magazine lodge, but it's a pretty drive.

Mulberry River Lodge, with all modern conveniences (Including Wifi), sits directly on the Mulberry River (A National Wild and Scenic River) between the Ozark National Forrest & several large tracts of private land. The Lodge is on 60 acres of mixed timber and fields & has 1320FT of your own private river frontage with multiple river access points & no neighbors seen or heard. Multiple large wall maps & guidebooks are provided in the lodge to help you pick & choose your own adventure!
This property is unique because of its convenience and ease of access to a traveler while providing a very backcountry feel. It is less than 15 minutes from the I40/US23 Exit In Ozark and only the last mile is dirt road that is easily accessible by car and wide enough to handle any size trailer you want to tow out. It offers amazing mountain & river views in a pristine natural & very private setting. You are directly on the river, you are less than 15 min from town and you can access the entire Ozark National Forrest directly from the location.
    Peace and Quiet
  • Great place for family gatherings with a beautiful view of the river. I hope to go back soon.

  • Perfect cabin to get away from the city. Jeep rental was a bonus.

    Jess2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is RURAL! It was absolutely fabulous. Walking the property was so fun. It was a little disappointing to see the beds on the floor, until I slept in one....super comfortable. I definitely plan to return to this location.

    Sheri2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for anyone that enjoys off road activities, canoeing and being with friends and family. On the border of the national forest so lots to see. Landy does a great job with local information on trails and other activities. You also have access to a Willy’s Jeep if desired. You probably won’t get cell service but WiFi is available and there is no cable TV but plenty of movies. Had a great fire by the river and the full moonrise over the Mulberry river was spectacular! Basic furnishings and beds but the beds were very comfortable! Would highly recommend!

    Steve2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Landy was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay again!! So much land to explore and relaxing deck right off the river.

    Vanessa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very friendly and helpful host. We got a lot of guidance before reaching the spot. Loved the location and view. The house was very clean and well equipped. The local tour guide map helped us in planning our trip. Walmart and gas station are just 15min away. It is one of the best place to stay when you plan to vist ozark national forest.

    Suhas2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing. Comes equipped with anything and everything you will need. It sits right on the river and has great views. Host is fantastic. Dont pass this cabin up!

My place is close to almost nothing! It is 1/4 mile from Highway 22, 2 miles to the nearest restaurant, 20 miles to Subiaco abbey, and 40 minutes to Mt Magazine. It is quiet! No noisy neighbors. Lots of early morning quiet and birdsong. You can even see the stars at night and the southwest end of Mt. Magazine. Horeshoe Mountain is a backdrop to the East.
I think the space is listed as entire house, which is true, except for my bedroom...I am not always at the house but many times I am. Just ask if you want to know if I will be here. Of course, if I am here you will get breakfast if you want it. There is a basement with a pool table, table-tennis, air hockey, and foos-ball that can be used with adult supervision. Please, only use the pool cues with tips and please do not let children throw the balls or use the table if they are not at least waist high at the pool table.
Shane's country restaurant is two miles from the house...quite good. The Grapevine restaurant is in Paris which is 11 miles from the house and is very good. Both of these are closed on Monday. Rivertown barbecue is a favored place of many and it is 12 miles from the house in Ozark. From Ozark you could go to Altus where there are a couple wineries with wine tasting (Post Winery has a very good tasting room, gift shop and tour) , Weiderkehr winery has a German/Swiss restaurant.
  • Beautiful quiet area with lots of space. Really enjoyed our stay.

  • This place is amazing!!! Everything was super clean and felt very homey. Matt also provided snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and water, which was such a welcoming touch. We had a blast using the fire pit outside to roast hot dogs and marshmallows and we were even joined by a cute little black cat who was extremely friendly and kept us company while we sat out by the fire. It is a charming little cottage and a great place to stay. Already looking forward to the next time we'll be able to come down here!

  • This is a space I will certainly remember in case I’m passing through in the future. It was cozy and spacious at the same time. Matt took the time to add little touches like snacks and a Roku that made relaxing in the space even more enjoyable. I enjoyed my time there so much that I extended a couple times! It was super convenient that I could have my pet there, too. I’ll definitely be back!

Whether you're looking for a place to just kick back and relax or a home base for Arkansas Wine Country tours, Bikes Blues & BBQ, or excursions to Hot Springs or Eureka Springs, we've got you covered! We are 20-ish minutes from University of the Ozarks, the Arkansas River and Mulberry River, Byrd's Adventure Center, a smattering of wineries and homegrown restaurants. This rustic home has a full kitchen, plenty of sleeping space, a private setting with a fenced in backyard, and so much more!
We are just over an hour from Little Rock and Ft. Smith. Fayetteville and Eureka Springs are about 2 hours away on the Interstate, a little longer (and much prettier) if you take "Pig Trail" up the mountains on Hwy 23. Mt. Ida, and Hot Springs are about 2 hours away through the gorgeous Ouachita National Forest. This country house offers 3 bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom has a Queen size bed. The other rooms each have a twin bed over full size bed (bunk beds). There is a full size sleeper sofa in the living room and plenty of space for air mattresses. Whether you're in town to visit family, explore the Arkansas River Valley, get your kid settled in at University of the Ozarks, or enjoy the countless activities and festivals within an hour or so, our home is your home. We welcome all families as well as corporate, yoga, and writer's retreats.
Rural, quiet, and relaxing. Our neighborhood is eclectic: sit on the front porch and wave at the cars as they pass. Hear the roosters and cows in the background.

We have satellite T.V. and we have plenty of old-fashioned board games for your family or group to enjoy! The bathroom has a shower stall with a seat but does not have a tub. You will love the kitchen/dining area! Very spacious and well-lit with natural light from the large windows. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, creamer & sweetener available for you. It’s the best “Farm-to-Table” restaurant around! As for the only two other restaurants close to our location, there’s The Burger Barn (8 miles away) and the historical Oark General Store (10 miles away), which is the oldest continually operated store/cafe in Arkansas. Or if you prefer to prepare your own meals, the kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, and utensils. Just bring your own food! During your stay, I’ll be more than happy to provide you with a home-cooked breakfast. And for a fee, I’ll be happy to make you lunch and supper too!
  • We couldn’t imagine a more comfortable and hospitable experience for a family getaway! We absolutely felt right at home. There were so many homey touches & little extras that went a long way. We LOVED the farm tour (cows, bluff views, & a cave!), yummy homemade breakfast delivered each morning, fishing & pedal boating in the pond, exploring around the property, swinging on the back deck, watching deer in the morning-it sure was hard to leave! We definitely hope to return and would recommend the Country Mountain Retreat to anyone wanting a relaxing and fun getaway in the beautiful Ozarks!

  • We absolutely loved our stay! The home and hosts were very welcoming. It had everything we needed. Our 2 and 5 year old loved seeing the calves in February and appreciated the toys in the front room. The cozy bean bag in the front was also a hit with them! Tracy's cooking was so delicious too, the breakfast toasties & biscuits and gravy were our favorite! I definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a cozy place to stay with great views and hikes within driving distance.

  • Tracy has a lovely, warm country retreat! She is an excellent chef - the cinnamon rolls were delicious. The mountain scenery is breathtaking, and the livestock are just amazing. Seeing a new born calf stand and walk for the first time brings back the simplicity and appreciation of life. Hiking is incredible and a must see in the Ozarks! If you want to experience the natural state, please stay here and make memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Tracy, for allowing us to enjoy your retreat.

  • The Ozark’s hidden gem! Perfect location for hikes and enough amenities that you’ll think about not leaving and just enjoying the area directly around the house. Tracy and John were the best hosts I’ve ever dealt with. Extremely thoughtful and accommodating

  • What a wonderful place to stay. Large, private, extremely well kept house and grounds. Large enough for a big family, yet I did not feel at all overwhelmed as a solo traveler. Hosts were wonderful, taking me on a tour of the property - including some waterfalls and a meet and greet with some of their livestock (this is a working farm). Even brought me a delicious home-cooked breakfast. Highly recommend!

  • Our stay at Tracy’s Airbnb was spectacular!!!!!! A group of us came down for a wedding and needed a cozy getaway the night before the wedding, this home was the perfect treat. Tracy was SO accommodating and there was plenty of space for us to all stay comfortably. I appreciated the quick communication and helpful tips from Tracy! We definitely would come back again!!!! This was the most beautiful place for a nice getaway.

    Emily2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed! If you have an OHV this is a great place to stay and ride. John and Tracy are so helpful with anything you need!

    Lea Ann2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sparkling clean cottage with everything you need. Well except toothbrush and toothpaste, but even you forgot, Tracy prepares a few in cabinet and you can get them with a dollar or two. We traveled with kids and unfortunately it was raining through our stay. Luckily the cottage are equipped with lots of toys, board games and puzzles, so our kids were engaged all the time when we stayed inside. Tracy provided a bucket of cow foods, and kids went out to approach cows and feed them. She also prepared S’more set!! Kids were truly happy to toast marshmallows and make s’mores. Tracy sent a bottle of apple juice to us on first day, which got really popular among the kids and they finished it on second day. We had to buy a new bottle for them on third day lol From all above, you can see Tracy truly cares about travelers need. and she is willing to spend time to talk to us and listen to us. (We had a pleasant chat at campfire) It’s a great choice to stay here.

  • This is the perfect spot for an outdoor getaway. House offers every available feature along with a perfect location for the Mulberry River, several hiking trails and for the National Forest in general. Can’t say enough about this spot!

    Joseph2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This home is quaint and has historical charm you just can’t get at a hotel. Beds are comfortable and home is very clean. Full kitchen made it easy to supplement restaurant meals at home instead of gas station snacks. Laundry room is fully equipped to wash those dirty clothes after a day of riding ATVs. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard complete with ready to burn firewood. I would highly recommend!

  • LOVED our stay at Ben's cozy home in the Ozark National Forest. Ben was professional, personable, and a stellar communicator. I would highly recommend!!

    Sallie2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is legit! Quit little cottage just a few minutes from town, plenty of ATV mountain trails nearby, and awesome little restaurant— Byrd’s Riverside Restaurant, just 2 miles down the road (the only one in the area). This place has everything you’d want for a fun get away. Ben was easy to work with. Will not disappoint.

  • Excellent location and home!!

  • Cass House was the perfect place for my family to get away and reconnect. What a gem! My husband and I brought our two sons (4 yrs old and 2 months old) to Cass House to see the Ozark National Forest. The house and land it sits on are beautiful and fun to explore! There are also great trails nearby. The kitchen was well stocked and the house very clean (both important to me with the kiddos). Also, Ben was quick to respond to any questions we had. We’re already discussing our next trip to Cass House. Thank you for some beautiful memories!

  • Scott was an amazing host! He came to greet us and make sure we have everything we need. A+ services! Highly recommended!!!

    Anthony2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to relax and play with the family! Volleyball, bocce, ping pong, kayaks, fishing, hikes, & a beautiful location. Scott is extremely hospitable and responsive. We enjoyed ourselves!

    Monique2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was great. He provided a great place for a fun weekend getaway!! He helped us a lot when the weather was being uncooperative!!

    James2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place is beautiful. 3 cabins that allow for a variety of people to sleep. About 25 min from civilization, which is perfect. This cabin is also located right on Horsehead Lake, and he has all the river amenities you'd need: fishing pole, kayak, boat, life jackets, etc. This place felt very homey.

    Logan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place to get away that has everything for a group to have fun this place is perfect! We had a group of 8 adults and 6 kids and had PLENTY of room. The cabins are not only very nice but the host went out of his way to make our stay fun and comfortable. Tons of entertainment outside. The lake is beautiful and perfect swimming place for kids. The cabin was clean, comfortable and even had some food items stocked since the store is 30 minutes out. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would.

    Alexa2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at The Compound for two nights. It was a time for our family and close friends to come together and reminisce and create new memories. The kids had a blast canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Not one time did they ask to play on their electronics. Scott went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend staying at The Compound.

    Amy2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place for a large group. We truly had the best time. Scott was the perfect host and went above and beyond expected hospitality. There are so many things do, we didn’t even get a chance to take advantage of them all. The lake wasn’t busy at all so it was almost like we had it all to ourselves. I highly recommend your group staying with Scott!

Beautiful cabin right on the Mulberry River at a great location for riding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking and having fun with family and friends! During your stay, enjoy a full kitchen, outdoor grill, washer, dryer, screened in back porch, firepit, master bedroom with balcony overlooking the river, city water, central heat and air, covered parking, and cell phone service if you have AT&T. Check out/message our page on Facebook for more pics and info @CrookedHCabinMulberryRiver
The best part about Crooked H Cabin is the scenery, seclusion, location on the river and nearby riding trails, BUT you get the comforts of home. We love the outdoors, but we also love the comforts of clean city water, central heat and air, two bathrooms, and cozy beds to come home to when our adventures are over for the day.
  • The place was great! It was exactly what we were hoping for! Leah was quick to respond and went our of her way to offer several local spots/hikes to explore. The place was clean and the grounds were perfect for sitting by the fire and cooking out in the evenings. Highly recommend it! The road to the home can get a a bit rough if its raining so would recommend an SUV or truck,. However, we were able to navigate the roads in a Honda Accord so it is possible in a smaller vehicle :)

  • Place was awesome.

    Brandon2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • everything was perfect from the min we stepped in. The location is breathtaking and the cabin was equipped well. The beds were very comfortable to sleep in and extra bedding was available. Walmart was approximately 7 miles and few options to eat a little up head. We did a lot of hiking, swimming and canoeing in the lake. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Arkansas !!!

  • This is a great cabin for families wanting to get away from it all. Absolutely stunning views and seclusion. Home is very clean and comfortable. Our family had a great time cooking our meals and eating outside, hanging out fireside and in the screened porch area. Not great for children to swim as you have to climb down to the river but perfect for older kids and adults.

  • Very secluded getaway. Not convenient location if you are wanting to venture out daily or run into Ozark, AR. Had a good time with friends. Back to reality now.

    Candida2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We met another couple at this very private and secluded home and it was perfect. Both couples had their own bedroom and bath which was great. The grounds are beautiful. It was mowed and welcoming with pretty flower beds and plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the waterfall and river. We fished but did not catch anything because of all the recent rain. Cooked most meals on the grill and enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. So private and peaceful, it was wonderful to check out and enjoy a weekend with friends and nature. Leah was quick to answer questions and provided great directions and instructions. We will go back!

    Barbara2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a great place to stay. Cozy, quaint, and full of gorgeous views. The river is truly right at your fingertips and makes grilling outdoors even better! Leah, the host is a quick responder and helps answer any questions that arrise. Overall, perfect place for a family vacation.

He responds quickly if you have any questions or concerns. The cabin is amazing. The porches overlooking the lake is our favorite feature. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us, and we weren’t cramped or stepping on each other’s toes. It was absolutely perfect for our first ever family vacation!

    Nancy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
