The history of Amsterdam & Netherlands through a beer glass

Join me, a beer sommelier, for an immersive 3.5-hour dive into Dutch beer culture and history with a pub crawl through Amsterdam’s Old Town to uncover how beer shaped Dutch history—from medieval times to the modern craft beer revolution. • We will meet in Dam Square right in front of The Royal Palace and then take a 5 minute walk to our first venue. • Our first stop will be De Pilsener Club, a cozy traditional bar that opened in 1893. Sip a classic beer and jenever—a juniper-flavored liquor popular in the Netherlands—as I explain beer’s impact on trade from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. • Next, head to the tasting room at In De Wildeman to enjoy a carefully chosen beer from the selection of 18 on tap and 250-plus in bottles. I’ll discuss the effects of the Industrial Revolution on commercial brewing. • Wrap up with a locally brewed craft beer at Proeflokaal Arendsnest, which has more than 50 Dutch beers on tap and more than 100 types in bottles. The Last Night Out in Amsterdam

Hopefully, you enjoyed your trip to Amsterdam. And since this chapter has come to an end, it is time to make your last night unforgettable. Amsterdam is one of those few cities that matches everybody’s tastes all around the world. We will meet at the heart of the city, in a typically designed cafe-bar space. I will invite you for welcome drinks as the Dutch people do for warming up and ice-breaking. As our vibe gets higher, we move to another district full of different venues. Amsterdam beer has been unique until today, so we have to hit one of those bars that, for sure, offers beer for everyone. With a huge selection of other drinks as well, you will have the chance to try some unique sips. We continue through Old Town and the Red Light District, and we visit one of the pioneer bars that counts decades, and until now, it has been the host of unforgettable evenings. To feel some rebellious, liberal, hippy, and vintage vibes, we end up at an equally famous but newer spot. And that is when you wish it was not your last Last Night in Amsterdam.

Windmills and Countryside tour / Award winning experience

AWARD WINNING Airbnb experience in the category “Expertise”! A unique intimate all inclusive experience with insider access to the places we visit. We escape the big crowds! Escape the busy city! A few miles outside Amsterdam lays the beautiful countryside of Holland. Visit the windmills, explore old towns, taste Gouda cheese and Dutch apple pie. This is an all inclusive small group tour. We travel with a luxurious Mini Bus to our destinations. We come at places where no tourbusses can come. When the group is complete we drive north to the small historic fishermen village of Marken. Over there we have a short walk in the village where I explain some of the history. In the harbor of Marken we will stop at a local Dutch cafe for coffee, tea and Dutch apple pie. A great time to get to know each other a bit more. From Marken we drive to the wooden shoe and cheese farm. At the farm we will get a private tour how cheese and wooden shoes are made. You can try to walk on wooden shoes and taste all the different kinds of cheeses. After the experience we drive to the traditional sawmill where they still saw wood as in the old days. The windmill shows the big industrial revolution in the 16th century. Most of the time we will driving through countryside roads to our destinations. All admision, drinks and apple pie is included.
