A relaxing and private detached 1 bed converted Barn with Hot tub in a country lane overlooking fields. Currently unavailable due to current travel restrictions. Bookings for September 2020 onwards are available.
Guests have sole use of Barn, Hot Tub, garden and carport. You do not share with anyone else, the whole place is yours. The Barn has its own access and entrance with double carport (195cm high), private garden with Hot Tub all enclosed with high hedges and fencing which reaches to the ground making it perfectly safe for dogs to run around the barn and garden to their hearts content. The Hot Tub is huge with 6 seats, jets, lights and is on all year round. The garden also has a large terrace with brick BBQ (coals provided), large covered seating area with cushions which is south facing and a delightful place to sit whether it’s summer or winter. There is a large flower wall on the terrace with soft evening lighting making it a lovely place day or night. There are string lights all around the hot tub garden and barn that come on every evening on a timer. There is also a separate courtyard garden off the bedroom. The Barn has lots of lovely things for you to use, a wood burning stove (logs provided), TV with Netflix, DVD player and wide range of DVDs, your own WiFi so signal is always strong and a choice of board games. There are lanterns in the garden and plenty of tea lights found in the kitchen for them. In the bedroom the kingsize bed will be made, it’s an EMMA mattress, 3 towels each on top and homemade chocolate brownies plus towel and treat for your dog if they’re coming too. Loo rolls and a range of toiletries to help yourself to in the bathroom that has a huge walk in shower. Coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper and oil in the kitchen. The kitchen has a washing machine, an electric hob and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils to cook whatever you wish. Washing up liquid, scourer, cloth etc all provided. There is an ice bucket and ice in the freezer for your drinks. Dogs are very welcome for no extra cost, just let me know they are coming so I can leave water bowls, towels and treats. Unregistered guests are not allowed, please don’t invite friends as it will result in all of you having to leave the property. The Barn is strictly 2 adults maximum.
Restaurants and places to visit are closing or adapting to COVID-19 so my guidebook and info below is currently inaccurate. I will be providing an updated list in the barn welcome folder. Do look at my guidebook, similar info below. A peaceful no through village lane next to Bersted Brooks Nature Reserve. Although 3 mins drive away you’ll find a retail park with Sainsbury’s, 24hr Tesco, Marks&Spencer Foodhall, McDonald’s, Pets at Home etc 10 mins drive away is West Beach Littlehampton and is a beautiful National Trust bay with sand dunes, stones up high and lots of sand when the tides out. East Head part of West Wittering beach is 25 min drive away and has sand dunes, flat soft sand and gentle waves. For dog owners it’s great as both East Head and West Beach allow dogs off lead all year round. Plenty more beaches but these two are my favourite and they have toilets and a cafe. Arundel Castle and Amberley Castle are close, very different to each other. Arundel castle is huge and impressive and worth booking a tour. Afternoon tea at Amberley castle which is now a 5 star hotel is very special and a great way to spend the afternoon, can be booked on their website, unfortunately no dogs allowed. Tinwood Estates Vineyard 10 min drive do a fabulous afternoon at 3pm every day where you can learn about the vines and sample them on their gorgeous terrace, dogs allowed too. Easy to book on their website. On the same lane as us is Splash Hounds, an indoor swimming pool for dogs, details on their website for bookings, a favourite with our guests. Also grubbiepuppiesdoggrooming (Becky) has a Mobile van and can come to you, book in advance for appointment, your pup will be totally spoilt by her! There’s a pub 10 min walk away, The Robin Hood which is very convenient! All the country pubs near us welcome dogs and I’d be more than happy to answer any questions/make suggestions about where to go. In the welcome folder I’ve listed our favourite pubs with descriptions so you can choose what suits you best. Chichester is the nearest city, 15 min drive away and has lots and lots of restaurants and high street shops as well as independent and boutique shops. The centre is pedestrian friendly and plenty of car parks. It has a good nightlife too with taxis being £20-£25 from The Barn to Chichester. Bognor is the nearest town with all you’d expect from a seaside town, amusement arcade by the pier, fish and chips, sticks of rock and a really long promenade to walk on along the seafront. Dogs on lead.
  • The Barn is the perfect stay for getting out in the countryside and enjoying some lovely beaches. Fleur was quick to respond to messages and really welcoming, there wasn't anything she hadn't thought of, and the gorgeous homemade brownies upon arrival were a bonus! Overall a lovely, relaxing place and the hot tub is a must!

  • There aren’t enough words to sum up just how wonderful Fleur’s place is. We had the best weekend get away; from the moment we arrived Fleur made us feel so comfortable and at home with her warm friendly demeanour and hilarious sense of humour we couldn’t have asked for a better host. The barn is set in such a beautiful location, Fleur’s extra touches made this the best stay from homemade brownies to biscuits for our little pup we felt so well looked after. We can’t wait to return! We love the barn!! Xxx

  • Amazing 2 night stay at Them Barn' from first booking to arrival Fleur was replying to our messages efficiently. The Barn was easy to find but still nicely hidden and private. There was everything you could think of including brownies, sauces & toiletries. The log fire was lovely however the cabin was very warm anyway! Hot tub was great we sat in for hours! Highly recommend the barn to everyone!

  • Just home from a lovely stay at Rusper house. Justin’s was a lovely host who made the stay very relaxing. We made very good use of the indoor pool and hot tub we could barely get the children out. In the local area there is a lovely vineyard where we did a wine tasting experience, which was good value for money. There is also a very good aviation museum a few minutes drive away. The house is lovely and the garden was very secure for the dogs.

    Keely2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Justin is very responsive. The house is lovely for groups, the pool is very large for a house pool.. and the location is excellent. We had a lovely time !

    Cheryl2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time!!! Highly recommended. The pool is perfect and the kids thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The house is cosy, well equipped, quaint and well heated!

    Benny2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The pool was excellent, the kids loved it.

    David2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a wonderful week staying at Rusper House. It is such a homely house and we all instantly felt relaxed! Justin's communication was fantastic and he was very friendly throughout our stay! The pool is the nicest pool we've had at a property. The temperature was spot on and the depth was perfect for us and our children to enjoy (ages 3 and 7). We loved the hot tub which has the added bonus of being covered, so we could use it even in the rain. The rooms are a good size and beds comfy. There were plenty of towels and blankets etc. for all of us. We found lots of nice places to eat within a short drive, had a lovely Indian takeaway delivered and Tescos delivered our shop to the house without a problem. There seemed to be lots to do nearby, but we didn't need to venture out much as the pool, hot tub, a disco ball in one of the bedrooms and lots of places to hide in hide and seek kept the children very entertained! We have loved our stay so much we are coming back in the summer with the grandparents. We all can't wait!

    Lucy2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photographs of the property do no do it justice. It is a delightful place with all the linen clean laid out with toiletries and towels. Facilities were excellent with a pool and Hot tub, TV and even the boring stuff like hairdryers and ironing boards. Kitchen facilities were excellent. We had a great stay. Very relaxing.

  • We both had a lovely stay at this gateway and enjoyed exploring the local towns. Very comfy and dog friendly.

    Joe2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time at the Shepard’s Hut. It was a perfect space for two and had everything we needed. The chose the wettest, windiest weekend but it didn’t matter was we had so much fun staying cosy inside the hut watching films on the iPad. We didn’t have a car but it’s pretty easy to get to without one. We got a train from London and one of Sues taxi friends picked us up to take us to the hut. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend. We will definitely be back.

    Julia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great little hut. In closed garden... overlooking 3 sheep in a field! Brilliant use of space in the hut. Everything you need to cook! We used the BBQ in january and was lovely still! Logs for fire. Warms up super quick! Lots of lovely walks nearby the countryside on the doorstep! Charlie's farm shop was a must have and it being under a mile away is perfect! Easy check in and out.... Such a lovely cosy hut! And Sue was a great host!

    Ally2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Super cosy shepherds hut even in January - loads of local tips and really easy check in. Thoroughly recommended.

    Florian2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely lovely. My partner and I stayed here over New Years to get away from the London crowds and will definitely be back in summer! We used the wood burner a lot as it was a great way to keep warm and makes the hut super cosy. Sue was very helpful and a great host. We loved the Christmas treats left out for us on arrival! Sue was there if and when we needed help and left us to relax the rest of the time. There are lots of lovely pubs in the area serving great food and drink. My partner and I are 32 and 27 with very hectic jobs and lifestyles based in London. I’d highly recommend other city dwellers with lots going on to come and decompress here. Read, cook, relax, go to the local town, take in the countryside. Can’t wait to come back!!

Cosy little room with en-suite shower facilities and small tea and coffee area. The pool house is at the end of the garden with its own private entrance across the lawn and along the side of the pool. Guests are welcome to use the pool and deck in the summer months. We are 10 minutes from Arundel, the entrance to the South Downs National Park. Close to lots of amenities and tourist attractions. 5 miles from the beach.
I can make a hair dryer and iron available if needed but do not leave them in the pool house because of the limited space. I will arrange directly with guests as to when it is convenient to top up the fridge, tea and coffee etc. so as not to intrude on your space. The fridge is stocked with water, milk and orange juice and also breakfast items which include croissants, ham & cheeses, butter and jams etc. It there is anything else you would like, let me know and I will arrange for it to be in your room ready.
Our home is along a quiet dead end lane and next to a real old fashioned local pub. The property backs onto fields on 2 sides and is generally very quiet.
  • In one word. Magnificent

A beautiful and unique self contained private space, set in a walled garden, only a couple of minutes walk from Littlehampton's award winning blue flag East Beach.
Please read all the information provided, it will answer lots of your questions and give you a real flavour of this lovely little space! Please come back to me with any queries. This unique rental is a WW2 converted air raid shelter, situated in the garden of your hosts. As a completely self-contained property, the air raid shelter has its own private entrance and includes the sole use of a sheltered, walled garden where you can enjoy the seaside sunshine and the sound of seagulls, but without the sea breeze. There is an outside dining table with rattan armchairs where you can enjoy meals or just soak up some sun. A barbecue can be provided on request. The air raid shelter has been lovingly converted into a beautiful bijou space, perfect for couples on a romantic mini-break, or as a retreat for writers or artists seeking solitude from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Free Wi-Fi is available but once you close the door on your own little hideaway, you may find you’re happy to switch off your phones and laptops, at least for a while! The accommodation is comprised of two rooms: a compact double bedroom with a small kitchen area, and a bathroom with a large roll-top bath, bubble bath included! (the priority here is indulgent relaxation rather than slaving over a hot stove). The double bed has cotton bed linen, luxury feather duvet and pillows, (this can be changed for guests with allergies) with storage underneath for suitcases. There is a small desk/table with dining stools in the same room and a small library of books and dvds with a television which has an integrated dvd player. The compact but well-designed kitchen area includes a small fridge, kettle, toaster with warming rack, and a cafetiere. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and milk are provided, along with a breakfast hamper offering a choice of croissants/bagels, white/brown bread, marmalade/cream cheese and apple/orange juice. Please let me know if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements and I will do my best to cater for your needs. A microwave can be provided on request. The separate bathroom is tastefully decorated, and towels are provided, all the better to enjoy the wonderful roll-top bath, which can accommodate two – although if you want to swim, you’ll have to head to the beach! Despite the secluded feel of this property, it is centrally located, with the award-winning Littlehampton beach only a 5-minute stroll away. Also within easy 10-minute walking distance are plenty of cafes and restaurants (including the stunning East Beach Café), the town centre, and the train station. Your hosts are Annie and Rad Radburn, who will be more than happy to advise you on what Littlehampton has to offer, but equally will leave you alone to enjoy the space in peace if that’s what you need. Rad is a local artist whose work is displayed in the air raid shelter and is for sale, should you wish to take home a memento of your stay. Rad also undertakes private commissions, including portraits. If you are planning a romantic stay, Rad and Annie can by prior arrangement provide flowers/champagne/chocolates etc or for late arrivals a flask of home made soup with bread and cheese. Please feel free to get in touch and discuss your requirements.
  • We loved staying at “Annies Place” although small, it has everything you would need for a couple having a weekend away. This beautiful little place, is close to all public amenities should you need/want to explore the town. The seafront is also very close by, and perfect for walks. We brought our little dog Murphy with us, and he had a lovely time staying with us and exploring the garden, which is fully gated the whole way round so no worries about escaping! Annie was an exceptional host. She got back with enquiries and messages straight away and made staying at her place very simply and easy. She welcomed us at the start of our stay, and then left us for the remainder of our time there in the knowledge that if we needed her, we only had to send her a message and she would help us with anything we needed. She also suggested a few dog-friendly pubs that we could eat in (as we didn’t feel it was fair to leave the dog) and we were delighted to be able to have a lovely Valentines meal at The Arun View Inn, which is very close by and I would definitely recommend. The place is kept sparklingly clean, and I would definitely recommend that people make use of the stunning bathroom facilities including the roll top bath with some bubbles in! All the little extra touches are very cute too, including all the pictures and crockery around the place, making it very homely! We made use of the TV and DVD player too, especially when the weather was too bad to go out in Storm Dennis, we could snuggly in bed and watch a film! It is lovely having your own side entrance to the Air Raid Shelter so that you don’t disturb anyone, and you can come and go as you please too. We will definitely stay again in the future!

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy stay in a beautifully quirky and well thought out space. Great bathroom facilities with roll top bath and helpful toiletries. Perfect place to bring a dog; the garden is fully enclosed and spacious with a fantastic garden shed relax area which would be great in the summer months! Location is great for amenities and so close to the beaches! Our dog Merlin especially loved his visit to nearby West Beach! Annie is a fantastic host who was extremely helpful and welcoming, and recommended dog friendly pubs to us. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay! We will be back! X

    Katherine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay, Anniw was a lovely host, really friendly and helpful. A nice small but private area and accomodation with a great locatipon near the seafront.

    Helen2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was perfect for me, my 6”4 partner and our little dog. It was actually larger than we had imagined with plenty of clever spaces to store things. A little radiator was provided which kept us warm and cosy. Everything we needed was in walking distance. All in all we had a great experience and I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.

    Bethany2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Annie for hosting us in Littlehampton. It was perfectly located for our Christmas visit to a family member. We were delighted with how quaint and cosy the space was, and how close it was to the beach. Even on a cold December day, it was lovely to walk along the coast! The breakfast was a lovely touch. We sadly had to cut short our break as my partner was unwell - I should mention that this was nothing to do with our stay! - and Annie was very accommodating to our change of plans. We hope to use the shelter on future visits to the south coast!

    Emma2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our mini break in Littlehampton a lot! Annie’s converted shelter was super cute and cozy! Very comfortable bed, lovely big bath and spacious garden with a very useful shed. Annie was very kind and caring host she left us delicious fruit and was very helpful with anything we needed. This tiny place gives lots of privacy and it is perfectly located right by the shore. Ideal for a romantic gate away and long walks on the beach.

    Katarzyna2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a little gem! Fantastic touches from the host on breakfast bits, milk, tea and coffee. Outside is a lovely little courtyard all enclosed which is brilliant for the pooch. Cosy atmosphere ideal place to relax.

  • Lovely little place with everything we needed and even more. We enjoyed getting sun in a private walled garden, having beer in a summer house and lying on a comfy bed. Beach and Harvester were just 3 mins away. Thank you Annie for prepping the house for us on your birthday! Dylan the dog says thank you too :)

Recently built, this oak framed garden room offers some of the best views in Sussex. Whether rambling or cycling the South Downs, we are at the exact half way point close to Pulborough train station.
A recently built oak framed garden room with doors opening onto steps descending to garden level. Oak beams, sloping skeilings, and flooring give the space an open, modern feel whilst respecting the age of the main house next door dating from 1700s. The entire space is open plan with the upper floor area comprising the bedroom area with a king size bed. There is a separate slate tiled bathroom with shower, sink and wc. A small kitchenette area with a sink and microwave completes the space on the upper level and gives you the flexibility to make simple meals or by all means try some of our excellent pubs in the area. The sitting room area is down one step from the bedroom and kitchen; it faces the garden and the amazing views of the South Downs over the rear garden. The sitting room has a TV & DVD player (with a choice of DVDs), a B&W speaker, two sofas one of which converts to a sofa bed suitable for one adult or two children. A separate single bed is available if four adults wish to share but it will be a bit snug if so. The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge/freezer, sandwich toaster, sink, toaster & kettle. Please note there is no oven and no Wifi. Guests will need to rely on their phones for data services. There is good phone coverage in this area.
A stunning area of West Sussex, our house is in the South Downs National Park. We can be reached easily via main road and are within 20 minutes drive of the South Coast beaches around Chichester and Clymping. Goodwood is 25 minutes by car so we are ideally located for Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival or Glorious Goodwood. Petwork House is 10 minutes by car. We are close to Bury Hill one of the main intersection points half way on the South Downs for any guests cycling or rambling the 110 mile route. Bignor Roman Villa is 10 minutes by car. The area has fantastic walks down by the Arun river or along the South Downs Way with views across the Weald towards London and the North Downs. In season, we are close to a number of well established shooting party organisers.
  • Just book!!! My husband and I just got back on Sunday and have the holiday blues... We had a wonderful stay at the view. Waking up in the mornings and drinking coffee looking over the downs was such bliss! Claire is an amazing host she greets you and shows you round and answers all your questions and shes on hand throughout your stay. We were supplied with plenty of tea and coffee, juice, hit cross buns, bread, jams, marmalade, eggs, milk, cereal which was lovely that you could have a leisurely morning and not feel like you had to rush out for breakfast. The place itself is very well designed and stylishly decorated. Theres a TV, DVDs, games, books, magazines, you honestly dont need to leave and you'll wish you hadn't apart from to explore the quaint town of Arundel. You must visit the black horse pub for dinner the food, service and atmosphere are exceptional! There are ample tea rooms and a lovely farm shop also. The larger supermarkets are also local, theres plenty around but you do need a car.

  • This was our second stay at The View and we just absolutely love it here. It’s so peaceful and relaxing and Claire and Phil make you feel really welcome. All the little touches in the Airbnb make it so special and the fridge is well stocked making it even easier to relax there. We will definitely be back hopefully soon.

  • Fantastic weekend get away. Claire was so helpful upon arrival with tips on where to explore in the local area. The place was perfect - clean, stylish with lots of lovely touches such as bathrobes and candles etc. Would highly recommend and would love to return!

  • Very peaceful location with some fun walks and great pubs nearby. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

  • Stop scrolling....book now. This is an incredible place - whether you're looking for a base to explore the South Downs or just want to hunker down somewhere warm and homely with incredible views. The welcome was the best I've ever experienced and describing it as a 'home from home' undersells it....the kitchen and bathroom were more well stocked than my own! The sheets were crisp and everything was spotlessly clean. As a serial AirBnBer, I have pretty high standards and this surpassed all of my expectations. Thank you!

    Rebecca2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Lovely views, cosy and a bit different! Recommend

    Kym2020-01-13T00:00:00Z

  • Cannot fault Claire as a host. The pictures in the profile speak for themselves. Stunning view in a clean and comfortable space. Generous amounts of food in the fridge helped us out too. Recommendations for walks/pubs were great. Thanks for a great stay!

Yew Tree cottage is a cosy home away from home, set in the historic centre of Arundel. With a private garden, hot tub, wood burning stove and two cosy double bedrooms, Yew Tree cottage is perfect for a weekend away or for a longer holiday to make the most of Arundel and the beautiful West Sussex countryside.
Open the french doors onto the well-lit courtyard to enjoy your evening meal and/or a quiet soak in the hot tub or, when the weather gets a little too British, cosy up to our wood burning stove in the open plan sitting room. We have a well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons, including a coffee maker, which makes self-catering easy. An open plan sitting room leads onto a downstairs bathroom with power shower. On the first floor is a double room with jack'n' jill bathroom that links to our nursery, furnished with cot bed and changing table for younger guests (<3). A kingsize bed is on the top floor, enjoying views over the South Downs and river. Excellent wi-fi throughout the house and garden
Based in the centre of Arundel, the cottage is perfect for exploring the town, Arundel castle, antique shops, restaurants and pubs, (one right next door but don’t worry, it’s a lovely quiet wee pub with roaring fires and good beer) or perhaps to hire a boat for a trip along the river Arun. For the more active, Arundel Lido is on the doorstep where you can enjoy the view of Arundel castle while swimming in the heated outdoor pools. The Wildfowl trust is a few minutes walk, as well as tennis courts, putting greens, play ground and boating on Swanbourne lake. Horse riding across the downs, etc... its a great place for families. We are just 20 minutes from Goodwood racecourse, 10 minutes to Climping beach and 10/15 mins from the golf courses at Littlehampton and Worthing. Wittering Beach is 30 mins away where you can kite surf, windsurf or fossil hunt! Perfect for ramblers, hikers, mountain bikers- the cottage lies directly on the Monarchs way and just minutes from the South Downs Way.
  • Fantastic place in the centre of Arundel. A beautiful town with plenty of walks, pubs and shops in easy distance. The hot tub was a brilliant bonus. Clean, tidy and has everything you would need. Would stay again

    Wendy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • There were four of us staying there for a weekend and we loved the cottage. It is very cosy, clean and stylish. It has everything you need and even more - gas stove and hot tub are great additions. Big table in the kitchen is very convenient. Kitchen is overall very well equipped so you can easily prepare your meals there if you like. Parking is very close and for short period of time you can also park the car right in front of doors to load/unload which was very helpful. Antonia provided all the information needed in clear way and was replying very quickly. Definitely recommended place and would come back there if we are in the area again.

Our place is close to Arundel town center which offers many great pubs, restaurants and shops. There are many fabulous countryside walks. Our place is a very homely place to stay, backing onto the River Arun. The Boat House is self contained, offering a bathroom, kitchen area which has no cooking facilities, there is a fridge, kettle, toaster ,crockery, and several places to sit and enjoy the view. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. No smoking is allowed
Guests will especially enjoy the Summer House because the views across the River Arun are very special including the view of the magnificent Cathederal. There is an outside patio area in the front and back of the Summer House . If you like swans many are to be seen in the river. The river is the second fastest flowing river in the United Kingdom.
Arundel is a wonderful historic town with its Castle, Cathedral and bird sanctuary. There are many individual shops and in Tarrant Street there is Sparks Yard which besides being a shop selling interesting gifts has a great restaurant on the top floor which is excellent for breakfast.A few of the pubs the Eagle and the Red Lion have music featuring great local bands.Beer drinkers are well catered for at the White Hart and the Kings Arms.
  • Fantastic, highly recommend 🙂 Beautiful location and very friendly, would definitely stay again - thank you for having us!

Very hospitable welcoming hosts. Tasteful practical space which has a similar feel to camping but more luxurious- perfect!

Welcoming, light and airy home in Arundel. Private double room and private bathroom (+ single room if 3 traveling together (single rate) Kettle, tv. etc.in your room. Breakfast which is included in the fee is served in large family open plan dining/living room or in the garden if the sun shines! A selection of fresh fruit/meusli/bagels/smoked salmon/toast for breakfast with choice of teas and coffee
1 School Lane is a fairly modern house which is unusually light and airy as the main living area is glass roofed and looks directly out onto the garden. The kitchen, dining and living area form one large open-plan space.
School Lane whilst being in the town centre is really quiet, especially at night. The road is too narrow for lorries so you will not be woken up by delivery trucks. Rather if you were to sleep late in the morning you would most likely be awoken by the chattering of children passing by on their way to the local junior school! Main shops, bars and restaurants are a few minutes walk along a pretty residential street. Like most small towns during busy times on-street parking can be tricky but Arundel has 3 good sized car parks and in School Lane (and many of the surrounding streets) there are no parking restrictions at all...other than the usual yellow line rules. The street is well lit at night.
  • Thank you Karin for having us in your lovely home! The breakfast was delicious and cookies, tea and milk in the room were great touches.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Karin’s place. The bedroom is delightful, the bed comfy, the shower (in the bath) was hot and strong and the breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in any Airbnb anywhere. Karin was warm, friendly, informative and relaxed. We loved all the art work everywhere and Karin’s love of colour and style made the house an interesting and inspiring environment to spend time in. Karin has thought of everything even providing cookies, tea and coffee in the bedroom, bathrobes, hairdryer and keeping the cats to a confined area. Walking distance to great pub and restaurants and the lovely Gallery 57 round the corner. Would definitely stay again.

A quiet two-bedroomed bungalow overlooking extensive water meadows that the cows freely roam. Alongside the driveway is a small brook with hedgerows where kingfishers, moorhens, reed warblers and cuckoos can be found. Murmurations of starlings swoop overhead at dusk. A short distance from the historic town centre of Arundel that boasts a castle, cathedral, antique shops and tea rooms. Close by to the beach, river walks, Goodwood, Chichester, Roman villas and beautiful Sussex countryside.
The bungalow is situated near the windmill in Arundel. Giving fabulous views across the fields, a bird watchers paradise. You can wake up to peace and quiet, watching birds flying over the wetlands.
Arundel is a historic town with the Castle and St Nicholas church dating back to Saxon times. Lovely rambling streets with unique shops and restaurants. The river Arun flows through the centre, where merchant tall ships used to sail.
  • Had a really nice stay at Debbie's cottage. Easy check-in, really cosy cottage with nice garden in lovely location.

  • Great views across fields comfortable beds, log fire, easy walk to town /pub and shops.

    Kevin2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely comfy home which is conveniently appointed to the South Downs. Debbie was very accommodating and special touches such as basic food supplies and a bottle of champagne were very appreciated. The home is very clean, with comfortable beds and sofas. There was a wood fire set for us but we didn’t need it because the central heating was more than adequate. The town of Arundel has many lovely places to eat and is a great stepping stone to great walks in the South Downs

  • A lovely lovely home, with thoughtful extra homely touches. Easy to find and check in was a breeze. Child-friendly (we have two under 5) and lovely and clean. There were games in a cupboard and Netflix on the tv, and in the summer the garden and BBQ area would be heaven! Even in the Winter it was gorgeous and we watched the sunrise whilst sipping warm cocoa. The host was friendly, responsive and so helpful and gave us great local tips. The location is fantastic, quiet and relaxing but near enough to amenities and fun places to visit. We were well looked after!

    Liz2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bungalow with everything you need for a comfy stay. The fireplace was a bonus!

    Anne2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We only had a short stay but it was long enough to see how welcoming and helpful Debbie was as a host. She was really accommodating and flexible and there were some lovely welcoming touches in the fridge and cupboard. The fireplace was a real bonus too after some very long and very wet walks and it made the bungalow feel especially homely. The location is great, nice and quiet but central enough to be convenient. The views from the garden are also lovely. We were there for a wet November weekend and it was great but I can imagine it's a real gem in the spring/summer too.

  • If you’re looking for a comfy, spacious 1 bed flat, then look no further. We stayed in the garden facing flat so perfect for our little family of three. The box of toys (inc. bath toys) were a great touch for our 18 month old and the place was spotless. It’s a shame it was winter otherwise we would have opened the doors and made good use of the garden! Joanne was prompt at responding and I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a self-catering, good value option.

The whole place was beautifully clean. The bed was so comfortable and I slept really well. I would definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area.

"The Hideaway" is situated in Houghton, very close to the point at which the South Downs Way crosses the River Arun. The oak framed garden room offers studio style open plan living space with double bed, well equipped kitchenette & separate bathroom. The doors open onto a garden area to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or simply just to soak up the sun & offer beautiful panoramic views of the South Downs. Houghton is also a mid-way point on the South Downs Way making it the perfect stop over
Located 300 metres from the South Downs Way, the 17sqm studio sleeps 2 very comfortably on a double bed on the ground floor. There is also a mezzanine bunk area accessed via a ladder (restricted headroom) with 2 single floor mattresses so the space would suit couples, 2 nimble friends or even a family with one or 2 small children (albeit at a squeeze!). Please let us know your sleeping configuration preferences at the time of booking. The kitchenette provides a sink, fridge/freezer box, kettle, toaster, microwave and induction hob. A light breakfast of cereals, bread, butter, jams, tea, coffee and milk is provided but if you have any specific requirements upon arrival we will be more than happy to accommodate your request. The bathroom comprises a WC, sink and shower which is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels, hair dryer and mirror allowing for light travelling (essential for you hikers and cyclists out there!). The studio also offers free Wi-Fi access, freesat TV/DVD player and Alexa-enabled Bluetooth speaker with free access to Spotify digital music service. The area benefits from very good mobile reception. Also within walking distance is Amberley Railway Station, two lovely pubs (The Bridge Inn and the George & Dragon) both serving lunch and dinner and a riverside café that caters for breakfast, teas, lunch, pizzas and more recently self-hire river cruises. The George & Dragon, Houghton offers breathtaking views of the South Downs and is reputedly one of the oldest 3 pubs in Sussex. It has a wealth of charm & character and said to have been a stop-off point for King Charles II following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester. The nearby, picturesque village of Amberley with its pretty thatched cottages has a tea rooms, village stores (useful for lunch supplies) and a further two pubs! During the colder months the South Downs can get rather muddy in places so if you intend to explore the area we would highly recommend bringing suitable footwear. A unique attraction of the area is its International Dark Sky Reserve status making our location the ideal place for a spot of stargazing (on a clear night, of course!). Dark Skies are areas where you can look at the night sky without the light pollution created by street lights etc. so if you are checking in at night the drive and garden lights are on a sensor but the surrounding area will be dark, very dark! For those walking or cycling the South Downs Way we can provide a baggage transfer service up to 20 miles in an Easterly or Westerly direction for a set fee of £20. Please enquire at the time of booking. If you fancy exploring the South Downs on two wheels, never has it been so easy thanks to the introduction of e-bikes! Chalkpit Trails Mobile Cycle Hire offer a free drop off and collection service from The Hideaway supplying e-bikes and regular mountain bikes. Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Perfectly located for Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood.
A stunning area of West Sussex. Houghton is a hamlet in the South Downs National Park making it perfect for hikers and cyclists keen to complete the breath-taking 100 mile stretch of national trail running from Winchester to Eastbourne. It is on the River Arun, where it has a bridge to a rural part of Amberley, 3 miles (5 km) north of Arundel. The Monarch’s Way long-distance footpath (which follows Charles's supposed route from Worcester to Shoreham-by-Sea) descends from the Downs to the west into the village, before heading south along the river towards Arundel. In May 2016 the South Downs National Park became the world’s newest International Dark Sky Reserve, only the 2nd in England and 12th in the world! Across the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve, some of the best locations for stargazing are already designated as Dark Skies Discovery Sites, offering sweeping views of the starry skies. One of the darkest locations in the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve is at Bignor Hill (3.5 miles from The Hideaway) between Arundel and Petworth. This remote hilltop location offers extensive views of the night sky in all directions and delivers exquisite views of the Milky Way on a moonless night in late summer and mid-winter.
  • Great location in the South Downs especially if you are looking to go walking. The space was lovely and as described, perfect for 2 adults. Cosy at night and gorgeous views from the breakfast table in the morning. Would have no hesitation in recommending!

A quiet flat in a new build property situated on a friendly, well presented estate. There is a communal garden with benches and grassy areas to sit and enjoy.
The room is newly decorated with a new day bed. This is a single bed which can be opened up to a double for the benefit of two guests. The room has a desk which is a useful work space or dressing table. Hanging space and shelves for you own belongings. A private bathroom which has a bath and use of a sit-down shower hose. I have spare toothbrushes, just in case and provide other little extras which will hopefully help to make you feel at home. The room comes with a kettle, various teas/coffee/sugar/mini milks and water. There are plates, cups and cutlery if you wanted to bring a take away or other food home. The room has a range of books and board games. These are for you to use and enjoy during your stay. Please do not take them with you as it stops future guests benefiting from them. If you haven't finished the book during your stay, you are welcome to come back and stay again :)
Close to the beach, just a 5 minute drive (with free parking on the front) or circa 25 minute walk. Sea Lane Cafe is on the seafront and is a lovely place to grab a meal or a coffee and a cake during the daytime. Local shops just around the corner which include; a Co-op open until 10pm, chemist, bakery, fresh sandwich shop, various take aways/ fish & chips, a pub and a petrol station which is useful if you need to fill up the car. Worthing Leisure Centre and Field Place have fitness classes and facilities which are available to 'non-members'. These are very close, both within 10 minute walking distance. Plenty of restaurants, pubs and entertainment throughout Worthing. Worthing Town Centre is easily accessible with public transport and plenty of parking around town if you plan on driving. If you need something which is not in our local shops, there are lots of large supermarkets are near by, the closest is Tesco Extra which is a 6 minute drive, however, Asda and Sainsburys superstores are just under 10 minutes in the car with an Aldi not much further away.

The accomodation is a fully self contained annexe with a hallway, kitchen, shower room, & large living room/bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, fridge freezer, & all cooking/eating utensils. The shower room has a walk-in shower, a toilet, & a wash-hand basin. The main living space has a comfortable king-size bed & a sofa bed that can sleep 2 children or 1 adult. There is a large wardrobe & a dining table with chairs. The annexe has it's own entrance, central heating, & wifi.
The property is entered through a front door that is for the exclusive use of the guests. This opens onto a hallway with a cupboard & shelving for coats and shoes. Leading off the hall is the fully fitted galley kitchen. There is a further door from the hall into the shower room & toilet, and another door from the hall leading into the main living room. In addition to the large, and exceptionally comfortable sleigh bed, is a sofa bed which can be used as an additional bed for two children or one adult. There is a dining table and chairs, a wardrobe, a television, and ethernet sockets. Wifi is also available at the property. Free parking is found directly outside the property, and buses stop nearby every twenty to thirty minutes.
Stone Lane is an unusual road, with my property dating back to the early 1600s (with a date stone added later when the lifting beam was removed). Houses have been added over the centuries with most of the properties dating from the early to mid 20th century. Less than 3 minutes walk from the property is the John Selden pub - a friendly local serving a variety of beverages, food, and live music events. Opposite the pub is a small Co-op that serves us well for all day to day shopping needs. There is also a fish and chip shop on the opposite corner from the pub.

The cottage is located in the seaside town of Rustington (West Sussex). The cottage is a separate dwelling from the main house, with private entrance, patio and parking space. Downstairs the cottage consists of an open plan living space with fully integrated kitchen, dining area, lounge area with sofa bed. Upstairs is the bedroom and separate bathroom with an overhead shower.
The kitchen has an oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The stairs have a turn and are a little narrow. The bedroom is in the eaves of the room, so there is a slopping ceiling giving great character (but mind your head!) We have listed the property as suitable for 2 guests, but there is a sofa bed downstairs and we also have ‘z bed’ for children, if needed. A £20 a night charge for each additional person will be added for each booking of more than 2 guests.
Rustington is a small, thriving seaside town with many eating places - coffee shops, Indian, Thai, Italian and a Tapas bar. The cottage is situated in the centre of the town, and local shops are just a two minute walk. The cottage is a ten minute walk to a lovely beach, where there is the opportunity for long beach walks. There are two local pubs in Rustington, and a gastro pub in the village of Angmering (2 miles). Littlehampton (2 miles)is a thriving fishing town with a busy river - fishing trips, recreational trips, and the famous (award winning) East Beach Cafe. Rustington is also an excellent base for visiting the historic town of Arundel with its cathedral and castle. Chichester is just a 30 minute drive and has a lovely shopping area and Cathedral. Brighton is a 40 minute drive (or 30 minute train) to enjoy the famous Lanes for shopping and eating. The South Downs National Park is just north of Rustington with access at various points within a 7 mile radius. There are numerous opportunities for walking, running and mountain biking. There are two excellent golf courses within 3 miles, one parkland and one Links. There is a new sports complex on the sea front, The Wave, with a new pool, children’s pool, fitness suite and sports hall.
  • A cosy little cottage in a convenient position near many shops and restaurants. A ten minute walk to the sea. The cottage is smart and well equipped.

Welcoming, charming cottage on the South Downs way near Amberley. Professionally cleaned after each guest departure. Just round the corner from Amberley station and the Museum, this cosy cottage boasts a welcoming kitchen and lounge and through to the main bedroom with king size bed and ensuite with shower. Upstairs, with limited head height is a second small double bedroom with adjoining bathroom. The cottage is in a perfect position, mid point on the south downs way.
The cottage is on the South Downs way and a 2 minute walk from Amberley Train station (and don't forget Amberley Museum aka Roger Moore 007 film location). It has the convenience of an excellent pub over the road, where you can get a swift drink and good quality food (in high season you will need to book in advance) or a delightful riverside tea room round the corner. The cottage backs onto the main road through Amberley, and whilst it is double glazed, you can hear the traffic. In the kitchen there is a belfast sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, combination oven and ceramic hob. Please let me know if you want me to leave the travel cot at the time of booking. In the main bedroom there is a king size bed with wardrobes, shelves and an ensuite with toilet, shower and basin. In the other bedroom please note, there is limited head height. There are 2 single beds in there. But let me know if you only want 1 single bed in there and I will remove 1 of them so that there is more space. In this bedroom there is a bath and basin. Please note, the bath is super tiny. Really tiny. Please also note that the house owner (not me) is currently clearing out the house and there is currently a container on the parking lot. However there are still 4 other parking spaces available. The cottage also offers free Wi-Fi access and a TV and dvd player. The local towns and villages of Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Often, travellers stay with us to attend Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood (Horse Racing).
This cottage has great transport links with Amberley train station a couple of minutes walk away. There is ample parking on the premises.
  • Cosy, stylish space in very good location. Can particularly recommend the Black Horse in Amberley. Good value.

  • Fabulously clean cottage in a lovely country setting. Easiest check-in I've ever had. Cottage was well equipped including a washing machine which was essential after the English weather was on expected form for February. Will return next time I'm on the south Downs

  • Cosy cottage, very responsive host, child friendly place.

  • We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Jane's cottage, which was actually booked last minute due to a cancellation of another accommodation. The communication was excellent and Jane couldn't have been more helpful in making our booking. The cottage is lovely, situated opposite a very nice pub which is great for dinner and drinks. And the best bit - the location! Right on the South Downs Way with easy access to hours of exploring. Thanks for a great stay :)

    Ross2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house with lots of character in a really convenient location. Great spot for dog walkers. Nice pub and a tea room within seconds of the house where dogs are allowed.

    Zach2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful little cottage in a perfect location for beautiful walks in the South Downs. Everything was clean, comfortable and a pleasure to use. The pub across the road (the Bridge Inn) is great for drinks - we didn’t eat there so not sure about the food. We had the most delicious dinner at the Black Horse inn, which is about 20 mins walk away and well worth the trip! Amberley village is chocolate box pretty and we’d love to come back.

My home is very light and welcoming and ideal for solo travellers, businessman and holiday makers alike. We are near to the seaside town of Worthing on a bus route which can take you as far as Brighton and Portsmouth. We are also near to a rail station with links to Gatwick Airport, Arundel and London. Our home is on the borders of the South Downs National Park which offers some lovely country walks. Ferring village and beach are a short bus ride away.
We are close to Worthing with it’s pier and retro cinema and many restaurant. Littlehampton is a bus ride away where there is a marina, places to eat and a sandy beach.
  • Lovely hostess. Bed very comfy, warm house and free coffee/tea at any time. Space for food in the fridge & freezer plus full use of kitchen facilities. Recommended.

  • Liz is a great host! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Great value for money. Location was perfect. Good choice of transportation links both bus and train. Plus, a big 24hr Asda and petrol station just round the corner, very handy! The house is very spacious, exceptionally clean, modern and well kept. Overall, definitely the best airbnb experience I've had thus far.

I was able to have space in the fridge and in the cupboard for my food, which was important for me. My room was clean, bright and airy. If I was travelling to this area again, I would choose to book with Liz again.

The property is a standard three bedroom end of terrace house that is situated on a busy road. There is a bus stop just outside the front with frequent buses to Worthing town centre. The rear of the property is secluded as it backs onto a small woodland and park area and is home to a variety of birds and wildlife.
The room is situated to the rear of the house, away from the busy road and overlooks the rear garden and the woodland beyond.
The neighbourhood is well served with shops, a large Tesco Extra store is a 5 minute walk away, along with a chemist, Subway fast food restaurant, charity shop and a Costa Coffee Shop that is situated within the Tesco Store. There is a David Lloyd Centre and a Tennis Club also just a few minutes walk. If you like walking there are numerous country walks close by, Highdown Hill, Gardens and Tea Rooms make a lovely trip out. Close by are a couple of pubs and the Sussex Yeoman is a pub/restaurant if you are looking for something to eat and is just a 10 minute walk from the house.
  • Very comfortable, clean and cosy room with a clean shared bathroom. The lovely breakfast that Ginny leaves out is simple but all that’s needed. I had full access to the kitchen, too, so I could make my own meals. It’s a wonderful Airbnb and I highly recommend it!

  • Debora's house is a dream - everything is beautiful and she's a really thoughtful host. Stayed with 3 friends for some hiking in West Sussex, and we all agreed it's the nicest air bnb we've ever stayed in / wanted to move in! Thank you for having us x

    Charlotte2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, just WOW. The house is absolutely beautiful, with an outstanding host to go with it. The location is pefectly situated in walking distance to a number of fantastic pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Debora couldn’t have done more for us and was available whenever we needed. Faultless. 10 / 10... cannot wait to stay there again.

    Carly2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • 73 Tarrent Street was the perfect base for a lovely weekend in Arundel with Friends. Particular highlights include the stunning kitchen which was a lovely space to cook and chill out (the underfloor heating is also dreamy) and its location- it's right in the heart of town but isn't too noisy. I'd thoroughly recommend staying here although probably not with small children or people who struggle with stairs as they are quite narrow and steep. -but don't let that put you off it's a little gem of a spot. Debora was a great host - really responsive and accomodating and loads of thoughtful touches. Would definitely come back if we we're ever returning to Arundel.

    Kirsty2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here over the holiday period. Lovely place to stay very centrally in Arundel for 1-2 couples. A lot of care and attention has been paid to the house, which has been finished to a very high standard. Definitely a massive upgrade on staying in a hotel! Debora is a great host, very responsive and adds lots of lovely touches to make your stay memorable. Highly recommended!

    Chris2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just, wow! What an incredible and host and place. Our first family holiday will be so memorable thanks to Debora. Location was perfect to visit Arundel and Debora was the perfect host. Her place had all the amenities and the added extras, the interior design is to die for. Would highly recommend her place to anyone visiting! We will definitely be back again!

  • Beautiful cottage in a great location. Boutique hotel standard. Debora’s a Great host with excellent recommendations for walks and eating out. Decorated the cottage for Christmas. Really special. Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful stay. Debora's place is absolutely spotless and newly renovated. We stayed with our 6 month old baby and Debora set up a travel cot for her. This was much better than staying at a hotel!

    Anna-Maria2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for the weekend on a girls’ trip with my best friend. We had a lovely time. The house is in a fantastic location, right in the centre of Arundel, and is every bit as stylish as it looks in the pictures. An uncluttered, comfortable home from home with a basement kitchen to dream of! Debora included so many finishing touches - complimentary toiletries, coffee, milk and wine; fresh flowers; chocolates - that made us feel cared for and the whole experience very special. This isn’t the cheapest Air BnB you will find but you get what you pay for and this delivers on all counts. Highly recommended.
