Places to stay in Bamfield
My place is close to the city centre, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, and parks. You’ll love my place because of the high ceilings, the views, the location, the people, and the ambiance. My place is good for families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). East side so you do not need a boat to get there. We also have of moorage and are owned by the Huuayaht First Nations. Shared amenities amongst numerous properties including the motel, pub and other lodges
  • Ron had great communication. Lovely rustic house right on the water. Can get very humid in the house. Kitchen was fine to cook for 16 people. Would happily stay again

  • We had a great stay at Ostrom's! Fantastic place for a big group, with so many bedrooms and a big communal dining table. Fabulous views of the harbour, easy access to the docks, and a very short walk to local amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

  • expect no signal for sure great isolation for bonding time

    Huyen2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Manager and staff are very helpful, and the house is very good for a big group. The only thing bothers me is that there is no cell phone signal and wifi signal is not very stable. But we understand that it is because of their location ( mountains and trees around) ; however it made the trip a real escape from the city life.

  • Excellent spot for a large group!!

  • Had a blast at ostrams lodge! There were 9 of us here for a bachelor party and we were well taken care of! They helped us find a fishing charter where we caught loads of fish. Would definitely love to come back. Thanks!

  • We had a large group stay over the New Years weekend and it was great. Secluded away that we didn’t feel bad being loud. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms! And walking distance to public dock, pub, and store. We loved Pacheena and Brady’s beach. Ron was super easy going and even joined us for some fireworks!

  • Great stay at Howard’s place. Perfect location in Bamfield, we loved every minute. A very nice touch to have firewood chopped and a beautiful fire blazing in the fireplace upon our arrival. Howard’s place is very cozy and well appointed and the beds are super comfortable 👍 Howard is a great host and always responds promptly. We highly recommend this Airbnb in Bamfield 👍

  • Howard's place is great! So much different from an general Airbnb! If you really want to escape from the city, this is a place for you. I love to sit on the front deck and watch the boats coming in and out!Truly amazing!Howard and the manager Rose are super friendly and helpful!Love it!

  • Great location. A bit pricey for a small group but overall worked very well for us.

    Stefan2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Magical. There are so many spectacular things about this rental and experience but magical says it best! Such a unique location and glorious setting. Bamfield is truly a must visit location and the cottage is the perfect place to call home! The cottage is right on the sweet boardwalk of town and allows you access to all of the local fishermen and comings and goings visitors to the island, yet offers as much privacy as you need. There is a wonderful private back patio with a glorious hot tub for those moments when you want to escape. But if you prefer to watch the boats, wildlife and water, you can sit on the front patio and feel like a local! Howard was truly the BEST host we have ever had. I am a very regular Airbnb-er and he was without any question the best! So welcoming, warm and helpful. And when he was not available, the postmistress (the local host) was available to assist. The living situation was perfect. Three nice sized bedrooms and the coziest living room you can ever imagine. The kitchen was fully stocked (and Howard even left us a freshly caught salmon) and had everything we needed! I honestly cannot say enough about the rental property and village. It exceeded all of our expectations and I would, without any hesitation, recommend it! We loved our stay in the cottage...everyone was so friendly, there were endless activities on the island, and the property was truly perfect. Magical, indeed magical!!!!

Located on the West side of Bamfield inlet our accommodation offers comfort and style suited for the outdoor enthusiast. • Great place, great host, awesome place to get away and relax. And awesome fishing. I'll be back for sure

  • It was a great place to stay The host is very nice, the view is so amazing . We love to comeback next time.

    Edz2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • My family had a fantastic time staying here. The location is perfect for West Bamfield - right at the start of the boardwalk, and the view from the deck is stunning. The house is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is very well appointed, and there is a lot of room to spread out. There were only three of us on this trip, but the house easily has room for eight people to be very comfortable. We're already making plans to come back with another family for a longer trip.

    Thomas2019-07-13T00:00:00Z

    Dave2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Vicki greeted us when we arrived, and explained the property. It is perfectly rigged up for the fisherman, with the moorage directly off the back. My family and I had a great trip

  • Would return here in an instant, 2 nights was not enough to take it all in. The shack itself is immaculate, cosy, well equipped and literally right on the beach. The location is stunning and perfectly remote, I spent hours just sitting looking out to sea. Lori is the perfect host, extremely welcoming and helpful but not overbearing. We visited Canada for 2 weeks, stayed in 8 different places and this was hands-down the best.

    Ellie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Seashack at Mussel Beach is a special place for a stay at the edge of the world. You could spend hours just watching the ocean and the weather. The Seashack is well equipped with lots of lovely touches to make it feel like home. This is glamping at its very best.

  • Excellent location. Cozy place to stay.

    Chris2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's cabin was a wonderful place to stay during our long Thanksgiving weekend in Ucluelet and Tofino. The cabin was spacious and had a great view, with all the amenities to rest and recharge after a day out. It's also a short walk to the lighthouse loop/Wild Pacific Trail, and close driving distance to a number of great cafes and restaurants in Ucluelet. Julie was easy to communicate with and check-in and check-out were a breeze -- though we didn't want to leave on our last day! Tip: Make sure to have coffee/breakfast at Zoe's Bakery and The Barkley Cafe, and lunch/dinner at Pluvio (one of the best new restaurants in Canada this year) and Jigger's (amazing fish & chips and tiger prawns).

    Li-Na2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot right by an inlet where you can see birds every morning. Feels like a very private space whilst still being close to everything you could need. The lighthouse trail right next to Julie’s place provided a beautiful short walk to a stunning sunset over the ocean! Wish we could have had longer here.

  • Jules's place felt like a secluded forest retreat, yet right in the centre of Ucluelet - just a short walk to shops, restaurants, beaches and more! We were pleased to find a private room in a modern home with our own entrance and lots of lovely touches & amenities to enhance our stay. Highly recommended!

  • This charming studio exceeded my expectations. It was clean, cozy and close to a beautiful forest walk. I would absolutely stay here again!

    Amanda2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Secret Creek studio. The place was sparking clean, well-decorated and cozy. The patio backs out onto a nice yard with a forest backdrop and I enjoyed drinking my coffee out there in the morning while listening to the birds. There were several beaches nearby which were a short a walk away, as well as the beautiful Wild Pacific Trail. Cafes, the supermarket and the liquor store were also all within walking distance! Jules was very easy to communicate with, quick to respond and made my whole stay seamless and restful. I will be recommending this place to friends and hope to come back soon!

  • The house and property were absolutely beautiful. The fact that we where able to put our boat in near Port Alberni and boat right to our door was unbelievable. Upon arrival the hospitality begins and does not stop until checkout. The boat slip and property are very safe and secure so there was never any worry about belongings.

    Jesse2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I'm the food guy for our annual fishing trip to Bamfield, so I REALLY appreciate the well equipped and complete kitchen. The bed I had was really comfortable, and I slept like a baby for the 5 nights we stayed there. I also really appreciated the close proximity to the dock, as opposed to some other local venues where something left on the boat is usually too much of a trek to bother going to fetch it. The view from the deck is beautiful, especially in the evening hours. It's a bit like being at home, but in a great locale with great scenery and good fishing close at hand.

    Rod2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • An exceptional place to stay. Very clean and awesome location. Yuko has gone to great lengths to make our stay and the place perfect.

  • Brent's hospitality is above and beyond! This was a great place to stay in Bamfield. The private dock is extremely convenient for launching/tying up your boat. There was also a table to clean fish/crab and a freezer to store everything. The place was clean and the bedsheets smelled fresh. There was strong wifi and even a spot upstairs to get a cell signal (not easy in Bamfield). Brent went out of his way to make our experience better in every way. I highly recommend him and this spot!

  • Beautiful spot for a fishing get away or just a place to relax. Private dock right on the boardwalk and a short walk to Brady's Beach.

    Rachelle2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Before we had even opened the door upon arrival we knew we wanted to book our next stay here. Bamfield is a unique town and this home is part of the picture postcard perfect waterfront. We felt right at home and found it a perfect place from which to start our land and water-based adventures. There are loads of thoughtful touches for the fishing visitors including cleaning station, freezer, and water hose at the dock. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious enough for our group to cook, dine, and relax together. Can't wait to return!

    Ben2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space for hanging out in Bamfield. The dock space is easy to access and can accommodate almost any pleasure boat. The kitchen is well appointed. It has everything you will need for cooking during your stay. Yuko and Brent are great hosts - just ask and they seem to figure out a way to address your needs. The beds are comfy and the yard is private. Great place. Great hosts.

  • Great spot on the boardwalk near the ocean, host is super helpful, our stay here was a highlight of our trip!

    Marissa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an excellent and lucky find. Bamfield is off the beaten path which is one of its highlights. The beaches and scenery are fabulous. Many thanks to the host for facilitating a local fishing and site seeing adventure! Well recommended!

    Jon2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brent is a fanfic host, full of knowledge of the area and always willing to help. Above and beyond expectations especially with ferrying you across the bay.

    David2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brent is an extraordinary host who will make you feel right at home. His home is well maintained and his communication is outstanding. If you want to experience the quiet charm of Bamfield and area I highly recommend you stay with Brent at one of his local properties. Our group has some car issues during our stay and Brent went above and beyond to not only help us resolve the issue but to think of any potential problems and hazards as the area is very remote and Brent is well connected within the local community. If you want to stay with a host who is very knowledgeable, entertaining and incredibly gracious, please opt to stay with Brent.

  • We had a great stay - it was quiet, private, and easy to get to and walkable to everything we wanted to do in Ucluelet. It's a great value and we would happily stay again. The space is comfortable and warm and has everything you need. It's one of my absolute favourite places I've stayed. Penny gave us our privacy and was very responsive when we had questions. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

  • This Forest View Suite, is a very cozy and relaxing place to stay. The location is perfect and is close to everything in Ucluelet so you can go exploring. The place was very clean and and felt just like home. The hot tub and Sauna are a great addition as it adds to the relaxation side of things! I highly recommend this suite especially if you want to get away and spend time with people you love and the hosts are friendly and accommodating! Overall I enjoyed my stay very much and I will definitely come back stay here again!

    Amy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Penny and Trevor are wonderful hosts. They left us to ourselves and gave us the right amount of privacy. Penny was quick to respond via the app and was very communicative. The use of the hot tub, bbq, deck, sauna, and fully stocked kitchen made it feel like a private oasis in the rainforest! We booked massages and made a spa day out of a whole day. Combined with walks to the close beaches it felt like an expensive retreat. I love that we had access to wifi and a TV, even though we didn't need to use it. The suite was clean, warm, cozy and rustic; hippie chic! The robes, extra blankets, candles, and decor are nice touches. We felt so much at home and it was not like a cold hotel which was preferred when leaving the big city behind. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for a cabin like retreat and get away! We will be back ♡

A dream in the making . Completely off-grid yet only recently complete enough to host stays for those not fussed over her lack of amenities. Her price reflects her nearly complete state. The Seer is currently all about the "experience" with her commanding view of Barkley Sound and solitude.
  • Truly remarkable and rustic getaway. Definitely elevated camping. Some of the reviews are out of date. There is a propane space heater now, but no where to plug in electronics.

    Matthew2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a weekend stay. Brought plany of cozy lights, cooked good food on the camping stove, listened to music and podcasts, read, and checked out the beautiful surrounding area. Nice beaches and forest. Had a storm and it was magic lying in the incredibly comfortable bed listening to the rain. Can only recommend, but prepared for simplicity. See it as a mix between a homestay and a camping trip. Also, most importantly, Douglas and the rest are incredibly nice. If in doubt, don't be afraid to ask them!

    Marcus2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely time at this rustic get away! We were happy to have somewhere warm and dry. The bedding was warm and comfortable.

  • We had a great time

    Hailey2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, Douglas was very helpful and the treehouse was amazing, rustic but comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend for those looking for something unique, quite and wild with a great host

    Steve2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Douglas' farm is rich with flora & fauna. Sleeping in the treefort surrounded by the forests and coast nearby is calming. Just as others have mentioned, it is comfortable camping, so pack a headlamp and be prepared not to have access to running water. Note, Wickianinnish beach is nearby and has showers etc.

    Max2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A spectacular host, an amazing view. We had the most splendid time at this location, and Douglas’s kind heart, and awesome friendliness made our vacation perfect.

Town is a pleasant 20 minute walk away and the porch is super nice to sit in the comfy chairs and watch the wind in the trees. Great little kitchen that's well equipped for most things you'd want and a cozy gas stove in the living room to warm you up after a long walk on the beach

  • Such an awesome place in the middle of the forest. We had a perfect week off the grid and a lot of adventure. Make sure you have candles, some firewood and basic camping gear. If you are lucky you can even see a wolf, which is very rare. Douglas was an incredible friendly host - he will always help you. :)

  • Amazing stay here! Wonderful hospitality and the food was great! Awesome animals and experience

  • Rustic cabin in the woods. Just what is described! Great place to be with yourself or intimate company and just disconnect for a while.

    Eric2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Zigaziga is the best host I‘ve ever had! You was so nice and friendly. He invited us over to his party, gave us best Tipps and even made us dinner! If you’re staying at the medicine farm know that you‘re up for an adventure! No running water, electricity or heating other than an oven. The cabins are very basic but that what makes them so special. If you’re up to live without your everyday „luxury“ you get rewarded with a wonderful and quiet place in the middle of the Canadian mountains. We felt so welcome and it was overall an unique and one of the best experiences I ever made.

    Katharina2019-11-11T00:00:00Z

    Jake2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It has been beautiful at the Medicine farm. It was so out of my world. The silence, the simplicity, the food and the company of Douglas, Emily and Eden. It is a place to chill, reconnect and explore. Thank you :)

  • Extremely peaceful and natural environment. Would have definitely booked the place earlier had I known how great the stay would be!

Brand new, modern suite steps from the Wild Pacific Trail and ten minutes drive from Wick Beach and Florencia Bay. Restaurants, shops, and the ocean are all within walking distance from this sweet little getaway.
Perfect for couples or the solo traveler, guests can access the Wild Pacific Trail, Brown's Beach, stunning views and secret coves steps from our home. Lots of light, views of Mt. Ozzard, and brand new finishings make our modern little space perfect for your next adventure on the coast! We offer a fridge and microwave (*new addition!) for your leftovers, a kitchen sink, coffee maker, kettle, and dishes/cutlery - we are not able to offer cooking facilities due to local B&B rules, but we can recommend great restaurants nearby and you're welcome to make small meals with the utensils and dishes we provide. The suite also has a television with plenty of movies for those lazy nights in after a long day outside (Stand by Me, Roman Holiday or James Bond anyone? Sorry - no cable TV, but who wants cable anyways?) .
The suite is located on a quiet cul-de-sac where dogs and deer run free. We love our neighbours, so please drive slowly!
  • A wonderful place to stay! Close to a few of Ukee’s beaches and to town as well as the Wild Pacific trail. Quiet neighborhood in a beautiful area. The space was very bright and had a lot of thoughtful west coast vibes. Would come back for sure!

  • This is a great place in a quiet neighbourhood of Ucluelet. If you are planning to explore the town a bit, it’s an easy walk to some of the cafes and restaurants. Overall, very cozy and stylish with enough room for two people. Even though there is no stove, you still have a fridge, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and utensils so breakfast can be done easily.

  • Lovely people. Beautiful views of the Ucluelet harbor. The hot tub was wonderful. The room felt newly renovated, very clean and comfortable. Had a fancy shower that I have only seen in hotels. Continental breakfast included cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee and juice. Would highly recommend.

  • Just book it! These folks are true professionals. I highly recommend staying at Tom and Carolyn’s place. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in...and the shower was out of this world. If I ever find myself back in the area I will definitely book with Tom and Carolyn.

  • Quiet and wonderful location on the inlet (inlet) opposite Ucluelet. The drive into the city takes about 15 minutes. Tom and Carolyn offer perfect service and also give good advice on what to do and see in and around Ucluelet. The equipment leaves almost nothing to be desired: Hottub, garden area with campfire, grill and breakfast - what more could you ask for? Thank you for the stay!

  • This location was by far the best on our trip through Vancouver Island. We were fortunate enough to watch white-tailed eagles and black bears from the terrace at a small but safe distance. Late in the evening, in front of the campfire, we got a goodnight song sung by the seal. The only criticism (complaints at a high level) is that the house is pretty noisy.

Mussel Beach Wilderness Campground is off the beaten path, it takes a bit to get here, but oh so worth it. Ucluelet is a quaint fishing village, a 35 minute drive away. You can pick up anything you may need there. Tofino is a 55 minute drive away and is a quaint artsy, surfing town. Then there is Long Beach in-between, a must see. There is whale watching, fishing, kayaking & hiking all nearby. Or you can stay put at Mussel Beach and do some serious chillaxing, beachcombing or hike to a cave.
  • Loved every minute of our trip here. There is a path from the trailer directly to the secluded beach, it takes less than 30 seconds to get to the shore. Lovely to have a real fire in the evening - Mark & Danielle sell firewood for a very reasonable $10. Good cooking and seating facilities both inside & out. Comfy bed. We went at end of Sept at which point it was quite chilly at night so do take layers. Mark & Danielle were very hospitable. We’d love to go back and try out their glamping tents!

  • The location is absolutely amazing. You are in the middle of nature, both in the woods and directly at the beach. We had a lovely hike along the coast and collected fresh oysters and muscles of the rocks for lunch. The little kitchen has everything you need including olive oil, spices, tea etc. You are perfectly well taken care of here. Absolutely recommend!

  • Fantastic place! It’s small but incredibly cute— perfect for a duo looking to get cozy. While it might be a little out of the way and far from town, being able to wake up and see the ocean from your pillow makes it worth it. Danielle and Mark are incredibly welcoming and helpful hosts, and went out of their way to make the stay feel special. You’ll have everything you need to feel comfortable, and there are no surprises with these folk. The heating is a great note too— it was chilly out but we were toasty all night. Just remember to bring lots of food, and light cash for firewood if you want s’mores. :)

  • This space is in a beautiful secluded area of Ucluelet. The hosts were incredible and informative. The space was perfect and clean and charming with an extremely comfortable bed and a fully equipped kitchen! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a little get away.

Sleepy Bear Guest House is a cozy studio suite situated amongst the rainforest and attached to the famous Wild Pacific Trail. A great spot for a couple looking to wind down and enjoy the beautiful rugged West Coast. The suite is one of 3 on the bottom level of a family home on a quiet cul de sac. Enjoy the privacy of your own suite or get to know your neighbours on the shared cedar deck equipped with lounge chairs and BBQ.
The suites (dens) are situated at the back of our family house looking out onto the rainforest. The suites are approximately 150 square feet with a Tempur-Pedic queen bed, and custom hand made cedar furniture. The room is equipped with high speed wifi, Optik TV (cable / netflix etc), mini fridge, electric kettle, teas, and fresh coffee from our friends at Foggy Bean Coffee Company, specifically grinded for the bodum provided. Enjoy the three piece ensuite bath with tub, shower and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Each suite has its own private entrance and sits under a shared covered cedar deck equipped with lounge chairs, so you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee looking out onto the rainforest. Sleepy Bear Guest House is situated on a very quiet street steps away from the Wild Pacific Trail, local beaches and The Black Rock Resort. A quick 2 minute drive or 15min walk will take you to the local restaurants, shops, and cafes. A perfect West Coast escape!

  • Unfortunately I could only stay for a night. Surrounding is very quiet and I like the interior design style very much. Couldn't hear the Robyn an the Family upstairs, but you can hear your neighbors, but I guess this is because how construction is done in North America, means that it was the same way in every house I stayed. Location is close to some nice walks, you don't even need to take your car. By Car the rest of Ucluelet is superclose. Would book again.

  • Highly recommend, perfectly situated. A oasis of peace. Walking distance to town center and best hicking trail. There is a shortcut from the cul de sac through the woods towards downtown area!

  • Amazing place to stay!

  • I would highly recommend booking with Robyn. Not only is the place great to stay at, he travel trips were right on the money. I am thankful that my travel plans changed and made it out her way. I am not sure when I will be able to make it back again, but my next trip will be for more than 2 nights. As I recently became a grandfather, the sounds of little foot step brought a smile to my face. Thanks again Robyn...........
