My place is close to parks. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). It is in the Victorian High Country and provides access to National Parks, Australian Fauna including wild horses (Brumby's). My place is ideal for people who love the outdoors, fishing hiking and camping. It is set on three acres with the Tambo River on my doorstep. Backpackers, tourists or couch potatoes also welcome. Golf $20 for 18 holes. There is just so much to do here.
If you are travelling on the Great Alpine Way to see the Victorian High Country or to access the ski resorts in winter this is an ideal location to rest or stay for a while. The home is fully equipped to cater to my family when on holidays. The children love the open plan of the house and spend a lot of time making cakes, pastries and bread and even preparing meals. Other interests in the area are the Olive Farm and Café, old Chinese Gold diggings, Cassilis and Ensay wineries for those who just want to relax. On a hot day go for a dip in the Tambo River. For the more adventurous, deer hunting is popular, hiking/walks, four wheel driving to visit Nuniong State forest and huts (std. vehicles can access the graded roads into the forested areas), fishing the many well stocked trout streams or trail bike riding. The Tambo Valley Golf course offers golfers an opportunity to play nine holes on a pristine course not well know to the outside world. However, the Kangaroos and Deer on the fairways can turn it into an obstacle course but also an opportunity for a great pic to take home. There are no hire clubs but if interested I can dust off my Gary Players clubs for some fun. Better still bring your own. Towns - to the south west 16 Km away is Swifts Creek and to the N/west 23 Km away is Omeo. Omeo has one of the oldest Stockades which was used to house local convicts. Omeo is also the gateway to the valley heading north towards the Hume or to Dinner plains and Mt. Hotham Ski Resort. Mt. Hotham is about 45 min. from Bindi depending on weather. In winter you are required to carry snow chains. Groceries and hardware can be bought in either Swifts Creek or Omeo and each town also have restaurants, Cafe's and pubs for the meal out if you don't feel like cooking at home. At dusk and through the night Kangaroos, Deer, Wombats and Possums come out to play on the acreage. The green grass is attractive to them. There are also some fruit trees on the property and if you are there when in fruit you are welcome to eat them. The Nashi Pears are my favourites. There is a campfire area the use of which is subject to fire restrictions. The Tambo Valley is subject to bushfire. Please call the local fire services officer in Swifts Creek to determine if a campfire can be lit. I know my children love the cold nights and toasted marshmallows with a bit of damper and hot chocolate. There is so much more to Bindi and surrounds so please ask when you make contact and I can clarify if there are activities to meet your needs.
This is a quiet neighbourhood and travellers are unlikely to experience a lot of traffic going past. I have a most sociable neighbour who is also a stock farmer. If you urgently need eggs, milk, flour etc. then just drop by at 771 Bindi Road. Peter is also the person with a spare set of keys. Peter and his wife are the salt of the earth and they will do whatever they can to help. Peter has grown up in the region and his family previously owned the land I am on. As such he is a wealth of knowledge on the history of the area which was once reliant on the forestry industry for work. Most neighbours in the area are pleased to help.

  • A good place to stay.

    Eranga2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Often it's the little things that make a trip memorable. That's exactly what we got with this stay - an Easter bunny on the table on arrival, a Bluetooth speaker to play some music, a stash of interesting teas & coffee and an assortment of kids toys. Beds were super comfortable and the space was cozy and warm. Check in was seamless and self managed which is perfect for this location when travel times are a lot slower than expected due to the winding mountain roads. Kitchen was small but well stocked with cooking equipment but the local pub has great meals so no need to be concerned about cooking.

The well equipped kitchen has a crockery, cutlery ceramic cooktop, microwave, toaster, kettle and full size fridge/freezer. Whether it be bike riding/trekking in Summer or Skiing in winter, it is one of the great places to visit in Victoria.
  • The cottage was cosy, clean and had everything we needed for a great stay

    Kevin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage handy to everything, sparkling clean and communication with Tracey was great, particularly as we did a bit of mucking around with our booking, Tracey was very understandable and helpful. Would stay again and recommend the cottage.

  • The cottage was so lovely and cosy. It was more spacious than expected and had everything you needed for a trip away. It was only a stones throw away from the Main Street which was handy. We will certainly be back in the future.

    Sarah2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the heart of town. Extremely clean and stylish cottage, the fireplace was amazing and kept the house warm. The day bed in the lounge was a favorite spot to lay and watch the fire. Tracey was very quick to respond to any questions we had positively and happy. Would recommend staying here if you just want some quiet time or a stop for a few days on your way to the snow.

    Giovanni2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Extremely clean and homely

    Nikki2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome weekend at Tracey’s cottage. It was a lovely winter getaway close to the snowfields with an awesome fire to come back to at the end of the day. The space is clean and stylish and we really enjoyed our stay. There is a lovely cafe right next to the cottage which served great coffee and food as well.

    Adele2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing cottage, We really loved the place :)

    Jishnu2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Creek Cottage is a beautiful little home in the cute town of Omeo. We were based there whilst family competed in snow sports, and like all of Tracey’s reviewers we thought it was ideal as a base if you want to keep costs down. Tracey was soooo accommodating with some schedule changes we had - nothing seemed like too much trouble. She was great. Cottage was almost perfect in every way - I do like a bbq or an oven but other than that, (and I am being picky) we had a great time and would love to come back again.

This solar powered eco friendly property has all an adventurous family could wish for. Renowned for its natural beauty, it's located in Victoria's high country. Benambra stone fireplace, (which can be a little smoky at first) wood-fired stove top & oven and gas cook-top, the house comprises open plan living & kitchen area, laundry, two upstairs bedrooms, bathroom and second toilet. Dining table, couches and rugs make for a cosy stay. The bedrooms are carpeted and the bathroom has a shower & tub.
Kangaroos in the morning, wombats in the evening and glorious birds throughout the day. We have a profusion of local wildlife at our home, with frogs, lizards and bogong moths also being regular visitors to our 35 acres of bushland. We’re powered by the sun and wind with all the heating coming from the wood fired stove (which also heats the hot water) and the open fire. (which can be a little smoky at first ) The lounge area and back verandah have beautiful views across the Casslis Valley, as do the bedrooms. All rooms have gorgeous views of the surrounding bushland and local wildlife. Foodies will love cooking on the wood fired stove, and the serenity needs to be experienced to be believed. We are located just near the Bicentennial National Trail for trail bikers or horse riding enthusiasts, and there are plenty of options for bushwalkers both on the property and very close by. Fishing spots also abound nearby, as do lovely traditional country pubs for a quiet drink after your outdoor adventures. Skiers and those wanting to experience Victoria’s snowfields will be pleased by the proximity to Dinner Plain and Mt Hotham, both within a 40 minutes drive. Sled dog tours can also be arranged in advance. There are great golf courses nearby, with the highly regarded Tambo Valley Golf Club about 25 minutes away, just near the beautiful Pressing Shed Cafe and Nullamunjie Olive Grove, complete with vine covered deck ideal for lunch. Please note that our shower is pump fed as we’re off the grid, so water pressure will be lower than you’re used to in the city. But we have plenty of water in our tanks, so you can just enjoy a shower for a longer time! Victoria’s High Country has never been more peaceful or beautiful than it is at Red Cloud Eco retreat Experience the unique beauty of Red Cloud, open for business now that the smoke has cleared.

    Michael2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Booked it for a small birthday getaway with cousins.. Trust me!! Couldn't have been better💯💯 The location, place, scenic beauty and memories = 10/10

    Hardiek2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, quaint, private and beautiful. Thanks so much Bill. We'll be back again!

    Jemma2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying in Bill's place in Omeo. It was the perfect base camp for daily trips to the snow in Dinner Plain and Hotham (40-60mins drive). The house is very cosy with open fireplace and wood fired oven, and beautiful views all round. It was really rewarding to tend to the fires daily for our comfort, cooking and hot water. My son loved collecting sticks for kindling and helping carry firewood in. It's a great house to expose kids to slower placed living, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You really feel secluded in this off the grid home surrounded by australian nature. We saw kangaroos and plenty of kookaburras and saw "evidence" of wombats. Can't wait to come back!

Cute little two bedroom house with a great view and large secure backyard. Quiet location, close to local shops, amenities and walking tracks, stones throw from the iconic Golden Age motel. Perfect for a family or couple, with or without pets. Toys available for use & infants welcome. Also suitable for people passing through town for work or anyone wanting somewhere cosy to stay on the way to the ski fields, which are approximately 40 kms away.
The whole house is available for use. The main heater is powerful for cold winter nights (during winter it's recommended that you turn it on early to give the house a chance to heat up), and the aircon is awesome during blistering summer days. There are also additional heaters for the bedrooms during particularly cold days/nights, as well as cosy blankets and the option of lighting an open fire (wood provided). The yard is large and fully secured by a fence and gates, so it's perfect for pets and small children. Once you park your car on the property, there's no need to drive during your stay in Omeo- everything is within walking distance. The snow fields (beautiful in all seasons) are closer to Omeo than Bright. The people of the town are friendly and welcoming. The main access point for the house is at the rear- so it's best to park your cars in the garage or in the street behind (address provided upon booking). The block is on a slope, so not appropriate for people with serious mobility issues. If you are concerned at all please contact the host prior to booking. At the back door, there are some remaining concrete steps, from when the house was originally built, which are steep and you should be mindful of this, however, there is an additional side entry point to the back door (the the opposite end of the retaining wall to where the steps are). If you have any concerns please contact your host directly prior to your stay.
Within walking distance to shops and iconic Golden Age motel. Close by to walking tracks and town swimming hole.
  • Clean and comfortable right in the heart of Omeo. Great place to stay and relax.

  • A great find in Omeo if the hotel and/or caravan park is not your thing. Our hosts were very good at communicating everything we needed to know as well as providing info about the area. Very close to the Golden Age Hotel so no worries if you want to have a few drinks and soak up the local culture. We can't thank our hosts enough for such a wonderful stay.

Swifts Creek is nestled in the Tambo Valley in the iconic High Country of Victoria. The town is located on the Great Alpine Road, around 4.5 hrs drive from Melbourne. We are just over an hours drive to Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance to the South. Head North and Omeo is just 20 mins away, or you can be parked and skiing at Mount Hotham within an hour. Our accommodation is located within the town and an easy walk to all the town amenities. We cater for overnight stays and longer term visits.
Both rooms have King Beds that can be split into 2 King Singles, providing the flexibility to sleep 4 singles or 2 couples or a combination of both. Please note, that when booking, if you don’t specify the number of guests it defaults to 1 guest. The listed pricing is based on one or two people sharing a king bed in one bedroom, and extra guests are charged on a per head basis. If you only book for 1 or 2 guests, you will not have access to the second bedroom. Also, if you indicate 2 guests and require two rooms, you will need to notify us prior. Hopefully, this doesn’t create any confusion, but feel free to contact us prior to booking to clarify any details.

The Mountain Farmhouse is affordable family friendly accommodation within close proximity to Mt Hotham (25min) and Dinner Plain (15min) Ski Resorts. Ideally suited to families or groups wanting to experience the Alpine Region. Located on a family owned and run 1100 acre sheep & cattle farm by the Victoria River. Self Contained & recently renovated with all the character of an original farmhouse. Peace & Quiet is assured but please note that with the remoteness comes no mobile/internet coverage.
If you are looking for self contained budget off mountain accommodation with easy access to the ski fields then our property is the best you will find. The Great Alpine Road from the Omeo side of the mountain is very rarely closed and generally has far less traffic and snow on the road than commuting from Harrietville making it a much easier alternative. Also available on the property is the smaller "Mountain Cottage" sleeping up to 4 people.

  • An incredibly beautiful property, rolling green hillside and a classic farmhouse, sparkling clean, peaceful and quiet. A perfect escape. We encourage anyone thinking of visiting the area to stop by here - it's safe now that the bushfires are out in this area and the roads are clear. It's well worth the drive to this lovely farm.

  • What a gorgeous valley. The shearer’s quarters are sweet and comfortable, more than you expect from the photos. Martine and Daniel clearly show great care for their farm and their home, which is obvious as soon as you arrive. We would love to stay again and see the place in winter. Thanks for your hospitality. • The miner's cottage was exactly what we needed for a quick scape to the snow, very comfortable, warm and clean. The place is magical, surrounded by nature in a remote part of the high country.

  • Such a delightful place to stay, the cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed supplied. The gardens were just gorgeous with all the large trees in full autumn display. I was staying there with elderly parents and a grandchild and it was perfect for both, safe level walking paths, outdoor settings under the trees and lots of space for the little one to run around in the gardens. Jason and Lyn were very helpful and accommodating, thankyou!

Super fast Wireless NBN. King bed can be split into 2 King Singles.
  • This is an ideal get-away accomodation if you’re after something with small town feel but close enough to the alps/ski fields. There were lots of small features you’d normally see in a full motel room. The bed was super comfortable (and much bigger than the photo boasts!). I appreciated the simple but adequate kitchen facilities that helped me keep costs down. The local store, bakery and cafe were all within throwing distance. It was quiet, easy to find and super clean. Very worthwhile!

  • Renee’s is a great option if you’re staying on that side of Hotham / Dinner plain. Would recommend.

  • I really loved staying at Gerards place. Is a great location and best place to stay with some of my girlfriends for a girls weekend attending the Hinnomunjie Races. Can also see myself staying here with my husband in the winter. Cosy fire, comfy couch, plenty of movies to choose from. Bliss

If getting off road and getting the 4WD muddy is more your thing then you’ll find fantastic tracks that are sure to test the mettle of even the mort experienced drivers, especially in the winter months.
  • It is remote. Lovely place for walks in hills nice fire place. All u need is there.

    Warrick2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for a budget getaway from the world. We planned a few activities but ended up preferring to just stay indoors the whole day. With the house situated at the bottom of a small valley, you really are surrounded and feel like you are alone. Easily day-trip distance from Mt Hotham, and so much cheaper than staying at Dinner Plain or similar.

    Kim2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Peters home just out of Swift’s creek for our family! We loved every bit of it, from walking around, up and down the river and seeing the little waterfall to bunking down at night by the warmth of a wood fire. Plenty of space for all 6 of us!! Thank you Peter!!

  • Fantastic spot, great cabin with everything you need to enjoy your time. Surrounded by nature with visits from emus, kangaroos the kids enjoyed seeing all the animals and swinging on the rope swing. The cabin was cool during the heat of the day but comfortable at night. Peter looks after you with maps and information about the region. Make sure you head into Swifts Creek for a swim in the river.

The Cattleman's Log Hut is a comfortable & rustic cabin with a wood burning fire, simple kitchen & living area, 1 double bed, 1 single bed, & an outdoor toilet & bathroom. We're near the Alpine National Park in a ruggedly beautiful part of the High Country. There is no TV, and mobile reception is patchy or non existent. However with horseriding, fishing, walking & cycling opportunities galore, you'll want to ditch your phone and immerse yourself in nature. There is no electricity in the log hut!
This hut is an authentic High Country Cattleman's Hut that was built in 1904. As such, it's simple, rustic and low on contemporary creature comforts — which is part of its charm. So, if you're into outdoor life, wood burners, gas lights, camp fires and are happy using an outdoor bathroom, then you're going to love staying here. It really is the perfect place to leave the modern world behind for a slice of traditional High Country life. The Cattleman's Hut does not have a fridge so we recommend that you bring along your own esky. The hut has a gas fired stove and we will provide gas bottles for your use. We can also provide solar powered lighting for the hut at night.
We're on the edge of the Alpine National Park in a remote & beautiful part of the High Country called the Bundara Valley. The scenery is stunning and there is fantastic horseriding, fly-fishing, bushwalking and cycling opportunities on the doorstep. Falls Creek Alpine Resort is 1hr15mins drive away. The nearest town is Omeo & is around 30mins drive away. We have a pretty little pub called the Blue Duck (where you can get ice) 10 mins down the road. Our location means you can't just pop to the shop. Therefore we'd recommend bringing everything you need for your trip so you don't get caught out.
  • Beautiful property! Great to get away from the busy city life and relax on the porch of the hut surrounded by horses.

    Kayla2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. We will definitely be back!

    Christian2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical! We arrived after a stunning drive through the valley and hills to the most beautiful little spot. Cabin is exactly as advertised, but way cuter. Super basic, but that was expected! We packed as if we were going camping (including lots of warm clothes as it’s chilly in the morning or while you get the fire going!) and that set us up perfectly. It was below zero on our first night, but with the fire going and some warm socks we were very cosy and absolutely loved it! Basic (think camp style) cooking utensils are available but if u are fussy about cooking or have food allergies maybe byo pan as they are quite old. If u have food allergies I’d recommend taking your own dish brush / dish cloths just to be safe as The one we were provided with was fine, but not new. Overall an absolutely amazing stay, if you are thinking about it, do it!!

  • This was our second stay at the Willows and we can’t wait for more stays in the future. Amazing place where you can be sure you’ll be looked after. Absolutely stunning

  • So happy to have discovered this Airbnb. had the best stay here where my partner and I were able to get our body clocks back in tune & have a technology detox. The place is gorgeous and close to so many amazing sights. definitely worth it

    Stephanie2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised! Spectacular location and views, babbling creek just off the verandah, horses on your door step, comfortable and cosy cottage with all the essentials for a tech free getaway. Take a good book and enjoy the quiet, go for a walk along or swim in the creek, walk up to the main house for a chat with the hosts or go on a horse ride. It’s really just that simple.

    Sheree2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a perfect time at The Willows - the cabin is the right balance between rustic and luxurious - the setting, the wood fire, a cosy bed and the incredible outdoor shower (with hot water!) are definitely highlights. There’s no electricity, no phone reception, just the stunning views of the mountains, the horses and guinea fowl for company, and lots of lovely silence. I recommend extra woolies in cold weather, and bringing extra lights or candles if you can - otherwise, just unplug, make a cup of tea, and enjoy the view. Many thanks to Helen and her team of friendly locals - I definitely plan to visit again. 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Thank you Tracey for an opportunity to stay at your tranquil retreat in the mountains. The historic atmosphere of the cottage provided for a unique experience of long lost gold rush Australia and the location to all the local amenities was fantastic: a 3 min walk to the pub after exploring Oriental Claims or hiking in the Alps was just perfect. The only thing better was relaxing on the veranda in the evening at sunset. I didn't get an opportunity to play golf, something for next time!

We're on the edge of the Alpine National Park in a ruggedly beautiful valley. Our remoteness means we rely on solar & a small hydro system so there's no TV & mobile reception is patchy. But with horseriding, fishing, walking & cycling opportunities galore, you'll want to leave the screens at home.
We're on the edge of the Alpine National Park in a remote & beautiful part of the High Country called the Bundara Valley. The scenery is stunning and there is fantastic horseriding, fly-fishing, bushwalking and cycling opportunities on the doorstep. Falls Creek resort is 1hr15mins drive away. The nearest town is Omeo & is around 40mins drive away. We have a pretty little pub called the Blue Duck (where you can get ice) 10 mins down the road. Our location means you can't just pop to the shop. Therefore we'd recommend bringing everything you need for your trip so you don't get caught out.
  • Great experience.

  • If you love outdoors we highly recommend Helen's place at Anglers Reach. We used Helen's place as a base for road riding up the back of Falls creek and Hotham. The roads are spectacular to drive or ride around. We loved driving down to the nearby rivers and dipping our feet in.

The Iron Hut is a comfortable & rustic cabin with a wood burning fire, simple kitchen & cosy living area, 1 double bed, 1 single bed, 1 bathroom & an outdoor toilet. We're near the Alpine National Park in a ruggedly beautiful part of the High Country. Mobile reception is patchy or non existent, ideal for a "digital detox". But with horseriding, fishing, walking & cycling opportunities galore, you'll want to ditch your phone & immerse yourself in nature. There is no electricity in the Iron Hut
The Iron Hut has a gas fired fridge and hot water system. It sometimes takes a little time for the fridge to get really cool so guests who've stayed with us before often bring up an Esky for back-up.

  • Very rustic - very nice - great to be really off the grid

  • Can only recommend to anyone to book a couple nights asap. The place is so quiet and nice, we thoroughly enjoyed being off the grid for a couple nights, had great bonfires, there was heaps of blankets (were there in August), the hot shower is such a blessing after a day of walking around and candle nights are the best. Perfect rustic getaway, private and stars are beautiful !

  • Cool experience. We loved it. Very rustic but charming.

  • This place truly took me by surprise, our host was beyond helpful and had a cracking sense of humour. Stellar views, abundance of wildlife, very cattle highland vibe, I have nothing else to compare to it. Perfect place to unplug from civilisation, fishing paradise!!! Off grid and quiet we truly enjoyed our trip away.

  • Lovely accommodation in an unbeatable setting. Staff were super welcoming and very friendly - they're more than happy to have a coffee or a drink and a chat with you, or respect your privacy if that's what you want - they even sorted us out with a radio next to the fire in the main house one night so we could listen to (our team lose) the footy! Great options for horse riding too. Will definitely be back!

  • The Willow's was an amazing time away, we loved the serenity and the uninterrupted time together. The shower has a beautiful view of the horse paddock and the view from the bed is superior as you look out at the horse's drinking from the dam. We loved the half day ride with Cathy our host who was magnificent with local information and wonderful stories.

Surrounded by gum trees on 30 acres of private High Country bush land, the homestead is a peaceful place where you can breathe out and enjoy life's simple pleasures. The perfect base to explore the Alpine Region's bushwalking, mountain biking, kayaking, white-water rafting and trout fishing. The homestead is also a peaceful, cosy spot to relax, sit around the campfire outside or the woodstove inside, breath in the fresh mountain air and gaze at the stars.
The rustic mud brick guesthouse has 10 bedrooms, 5 with ensuites and 5 upstairs with a shared bathroom. The Wilderness Retreat is popular with couples as well as larger groups of family and friends, school camps and study groups. The price is for 1 bedroom with ensuite, if you have a bigger group or would like a longer stay, please contact Gordy as the Airbnb pricing system doesn't allow for different pricing for different size groups. The open-plan kitchen and living room, with a huge dining table and wood stove for heating is a perfect spot to relax, share a feast and warm up after a day exploring the Alpine Region. Outside, there is an outdoor kitchen for BBQing as well as a wood-fired pizza oven, outdoor fire heated bath, and campfire. You can explore the acres of pristine bush on the property, or venture further afield for fishing, bushwalking, mountain bike riding, or snow sports higher up in the mountains. The guesthouse is off-grid, with solar hot water, and a combination of solar and hydro power. The rustic timber beams, slate floors and mud-brick walls create a cosy atmosphere - a true country wilderness retreat.
Glen Wills is a picturesque region in the pristine High Country, right next to the Glen Valley. Once a town and very rich goldfield, today it is a peaceful wilderness used mostly for grazing and recreation. Located right between Omeo and Mitta Mitta, 50kms north of Omeo via the Omeo Highway and 58kms south of Mitta Mitta, Glen Wills is remote enough to feel like a true retreat, with the nearest shop an hour away, but close enough to plan a trip to the Blue Duck Hotel Inn in Omeo or the Mitta Mitta river to swim, fish or white water raft.
  • We had a group of 20 people (adults & children) staying at Gordy's place for 4 nights. His peaceful hand built building and surrounds were a real delight to stay at. His place is awesome for a group of this size, and has mattresses for extras if needed. Gordy lives 300m away through the bush and so is there if needed, but the place is pretty self sufficient and we didn't have any issues. There was 1 electric fridge and 2 gas fridges, so lots of chiller space for all of our food and beer (which was lots!). It was great having no mobile reception to get away from it for a bit, and also having a land line that we could use was useful to contact the outside world when needed! Great showers with solar hot water heating backed up by a stove/wet back chippie, and a friendly dog sealed the deal. Thanks Gordy :)

  • This home and Gordy are some of the Alpine national Park's greatest hidden treasures (according to us). The warmth of the hand crafted home and community will leave you feeling rested and regenerated. The lodge is off the beaten track, nested into thick, lush forest with crispy mountain air - perfect if you want to switch off and connect with nature. It's a great relaxed atmosphere to meet some fellow travellers, and share a cuppa and a yarn around the fire. Even though it might seem a bit of a detour from the usual tourist trail, it was so worth it and a highlight of our roadtrip. We regretted our stay was so short - definitely worth booking for at least 3 days, and a great spot to explore the surrounding Alpine National Park. We will be coming back and bringing our friends.
