  • Amazing place! The cottage is in quite a remote are so it s perfect if you just want to get away from it all. It s “off the grid” yet the amenities are fantastic. We stayed in the middle of winter and had a wood fired fireplace in our cottage which was super comfortable and kept us warm. One of the highlights of as the sauna! Also loved Pan, their super friendly dog who came to visit us in our cottage

  • This is a beautiful cabin in a stunning location. The cabin is warm and cozy with a fully-stocked kitchen. Carmen and Robert are welcoming hosts. We hope to come back in the summer to do some hiking in the mountains surrounding the property.

  • awesome place with a great view!

    Morgan & Dylan2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We spent about a week in Carmen and Robert's cabin. Our holiday was an absolute delight! Based on the description we went in with pretty high expectations, which were exceeded by the setup and coziness, the warm welcome we received, as well as the breathtaking surroundings of the cabin. The place is exactly as advertised, super neat and clean and very well maintained. Coming home after a cold, snowy day into this welcoming and cozy home was a pleasure. We found Carmen and Robert to be absolutely charming hosts, very easy going, and great communicators. The surroundings are wild and wonderful, just as we hoped for. The family lives close by, so we never felt isolated. Carmen and Robert were always helpful with providing hints and suggestions, as well as the occasional wireless access. Overall, we'd strongly recommend this place to anyone seeking a retreat close to nature. We would definitely go again.

  • It was so welcoming to arrive to a warm cabin, fire already stoked and water heating on top. The cabin is very basic but extremely clean, cute, and everything has been thought about -- extra kindling and paper, flashlight, soaps, kitchen utensils. We had a fantastic weekend playing games by propane lamp, cozy with the wood fire. Definitely will be returning to this gem.

  • What an amazing place! Best AirBnb experience so far. The yurt is beautiful and warm (even in the middle of yukon winter). The views are stunning. Great place to see and photograph northern lights. Breakfast was delicious. Only 20 mins from Whitehorse.

    Joanna2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing place to experience the Yukon at its best. A once in a lifetime adventure. The Yurt is comfortable and warm and the views are to die for. Amanda is an exceptional host, providing a wonderful healthy breakfast, local tips to help you make the most of your stay. Highly recommend and hope to return some day.

    Gillian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The best view of our trip to Whitehorse, a unique experience that we want to repeat.

    Christian2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had an awesome weekend In the Yurt. There is so much to do and see on the property alone. Amanda and Philip are so friendly and awesome hosts; we had a wonderful breakfast every morning, they gladly lent us their cross country skis and boots, snow shoes and helpful hints and tips for what to get up to. The Yurt offers a unique, glamping experience kept cozy with its own wood burning stove (this can be tricky to get the hang of but once you do, you’re all set). Views from the yurt are stunning with lots of privacy.

Spend a moment on the shores of Marsh lake in a rustic, but clean bright private cabin. Beside visiting the cabin, an experience Yukon visitors should try, doing yoga in a wall tent then having a sauna. Or go kayaking in the summer, sledding in the winter all the while taking a good look around the lake. Or simply build a fire and watch for northern lights while star gazing. My cabin is only 35 minutes from downtown Whitehorse (about 50km). You will have the entire property to yourself to enjoy.
Private property with an electrically heated cabin, a wall tent(not electrically heated) and an open deck space with wood stoves each. All exclusively yours!
It’s waterfront with private beach, breathtaking view throughout the year and quiet atmosphere. Perfect Yukon cabin experience close to downtown. The cabin is also close to Jake's Corner which is a full service restaurant / gas station with shower facility.(It’s temporarily closed until further notice except gas station.) This private, well treed lakeside property is easily accessible by road, just off Alaska Highway. Our private driveway includes ample parking for 1-3 vehicles from small sedans to large SUVs. Larger vehicles, trailers and RVs can be accommodated on the nearby access road just less than a minute walk from the property.
  • Beautiful place located right next to the lake we stayed there in the winter when it was pretty cold but the place had a lovely fireplace which kept us warm.also loved the little touches such as a collection of Japanese anime movies and the collection interior design magazines. One highlight was the sauna located in a separate cottage which we used every day.

    Max2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place. Awesome location and lots of great extra touches to make the stay more comfortable. We had so much fun on the sled and being able to sit outside with fireplace and enjoy the gorgeous scenery was wonderful. We loved the sauna too and the shower set up was novel and good! Rika's communication was excellent from booking right through to check-in. Thanks so much.

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin on the lake. Many thoughtful touches throughout. So many aspects about the cabin were amazing. Imagine all the outside facilities would be a lot of fun in the summer. Definitely recommend!!

    Ryan2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It is a warm and cozy cabin, the snowy landscape outside the window was so beautiful. The host carefully prepared everything we needed during our stay. I had to use the outside toilet and the water in the bucket, but it was a new and enjoyable experience like the sauna facilities and the fireplace. I will not forget the fun of sledding, especially as I returned to my childhood after roasting sausages at an outdoor bonfire.

    Seulgi2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! Although close to the highway which was great for getting there safely in winter it was peaceful. We enjoyed the multiple dwellings, the sauna was fantastic. I would love to come with friends to share to amazing place if i ever had the chance to come again regardless my partner and I had the most relaxing time. Thanks for letting us stay!

    Rohan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s official we’ve rented this place for all of the seasons and winter is no less amazing. Great places to walk and skate right out the front door!

    Melanie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rika's cabin is really cozy. She made the off-grid stay as comfortable as possible with lots of water, firewood, etc accessible. We had a great time and can only recommend it!

  • Great place to stay! Kevin is lovely!

    Neil2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying with Kevin!! He is so friendly and allowed us to use his hot tub and sauna. Plus he was kind enough to share some of his personal background and history and even gave us a few green tomatoes from his garden to share. The breakfast provided was amazing! So many options. The cabin itself is beautiful and located right on the water. We also had access to his canoe. We had a bit of difficulty actually locating the cabin when we arrived (mostly because we did not have cell reception so could not message/call Kevin for more detailed instructions) but everything worked out. We wish we had stayed there longer, we would highly recommend this to anyone (warning: no indoor pluming but Kevin offered for us to use the shower in his basement if we wanted, and he provided lots of clean water for us to use to wash up)

    Noren2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • It is a perfect place for relaxing. Kevin is very helpful. The cabin is near the lake, amazing! It is not far from Whitehorse and Carcross. Thanks Kevin that we were allowed to be your guests and that you have accepted my dog. We had a fantastic time here!

    Sina2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic cabin as described. Kevin is a great host and accepts LATE check ins.

  • Minutes away from Carcross Mountain biking trails, wonderful lake, amazing cabin, SAUNA AND A SPA! I mean; I really I felt like I was in the middle of a postcard! We had an amazing time! Everything was as expected. We where able to cook all our meals! The fireplace!!! The cabin is pretty epic! We are coming back next year for sure! Merci beaucoup!

  • I stayed at the Eagles Nest with my Mom, her partner and my partner. This place is wonderful and perfect if you are travelling with family or a group of friends! The cabin has everything you could possibly need for cooking a nice meal, it was clean, beautiful and really warm from the wood stove. We really enjoyed cooking on the wood oven, making bon fires, the jacuzzi, the sauna and simply enjoying beautiful Crag Lake. We highly recommend this place to others and will be back soon with friends! Thank you Chuck for your hospitality, we really enjoyed chatting with you.

    Karly2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little dry cabin, with a warm wood stove and plenty of privacy. Access to the hot tub was really great.

    Jesse2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin is definitely a super host! Our trip to the Yukon was amazing and so glad we could experience his cabin and everything it has to offer! It’s definitely rustic experience but we all loved it! There’s a shared shower but we had no issues with it. The view was phenomenal and close to Carcross where our friends live! Definitely take the canoe out on the lake we only did once day before we left and wish we took it out more, the views are breathtaking. Thank you again Kevin!

  • Although the cabin was described as rustic, I found it to be very cozy and had more than what I had expected. There were electricity and typical kitchen appliances (fridge, microwave, electric stove, toaster). An indoor shower was in the process of being installed, but we were offered to shower in the main house. I thought it was going to get cold at night, but with the wood stove, it ended up being very warm. There were canoes to use, but I didn't have enough time to take advantage of it. Kevin left breakfast items in the fridge for us, which was a nice touch.

    Ming2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • If I could leave 10 stars out of 5, I would! Kevin is a thoughtful, kind, and welcoming host. From the small touches waiting for us upon arrival, to the tips and tricks to help us make the most of our stay, to the welcoming heart and good conversation, everything was top notch at Eagles Nest. Our group really felt in our element, the location is SURREAL. We cooked over the fire and using the wood burning stove, picked fresh rosehips for campfire brewed tea, went for a completely blissful canoe ride on the lake with the company of a few otters, and enjoyed the sauna overlooking the lake. I can't wait to come back! Thanks Kevin!

    Elizabeth2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is unique !, love the cabin living with all the coziness, space and nature. Kevin is a great host, great amenities in the fridge to complement our meals. The lake and share spaces are a great way to connect with extraordinary nature. Surely a place to come back.

    Ana2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to get away from it all with lake access and a comfortable place to relax.

    Denise2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Stay began with a ride from Kevin from the bus stop and a quick pause for wine outside Carcross. Enjoyed a evening on the lake dock and then great hangout time in the well stocked cabin. During our three days we laid low, paddled canoe around a portion of the lake, and drank in the calm. Great stop for soul restoration.

  • This is paradise! The sauna is a dream, beautiful patio for morning coffee, cozy and comfortable cabin. Couldn’t have asked for more.

    Suzanne2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute must side trip to Carcross. This accommodation makes the trip all the more worth it. Suzanne was lovely and the property a quiet lake side jem. We will be back and will send all family and friends for a visit in the mean time!

    Claire2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed with Suzanne and Robertson In late June 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed a genuine Yukon experience - the cabin was cosy and funky and comfortable and the sauna even better (bring crocs). It's a beautiful location - the pics don't do it justice. Suzanne made us breakfast every day and it was delivered by pulley up to the cabin's front porch - as they do in Europe. The cabin has a fridge and gas stove and sink but, in keeping with the frontier experience, has no running water - drinking and washing water is provided - so we found it not to be a problem - actually added to the experience! We hope to be back for a longer stay - it was great!

    David2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is gorgeous--warm, bright, cheery--and very clean. Bed is comfy. Hosts are great and they clearly put a lot of thought into all the details. We chose the spot for the sauna and the lake and were delighted to find that it came with such a nice cabin to hang out in between ski and sauna! We will likely be back for our next White Pass ski weekend. Thanks for a great stay!

    Kate2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin that Robertson has built is really beautiful. It's well set up and clean and the kitchen is great - fully stocked, just bring your own spices. They are friendly people and have built it as a retreat for people. I felt a little bit uncomfortable with being right in their yard which I didn't realize how much you are in their space, but that's not necessarily bad, I just thought we'd have more privacy. The sauna was great - very hot and relaxing. You can use it for one night of your stay only. We kick-sledded which was really fun. We also had a group out for Easter dinner in the greenhouse and it was a great setting to have a community meal like that. I forgot a pot of meatballs and they were kind to bring it into town with them and I got it back which was great. Overall a great place and friendly hosts.

  • We had a lovely stay at Marsh lake in this cabin. It’s a little remodelled since the photos were taken (the bedroom is different), but very comfortable, attractively decorated & definitely the most pleasant dry cabin I’ve ever stayed in! It was super cosy with the heating system despite the snow & very spacious for two. Some notes for future travellers: Bring groceries with you, there’s lots of cooking implements at the cabin, and there’s a great dining table to eat at. The freezer is just a little box at the top of the fridge though, so not suitable for items that need to remain very cold. Beers etc can probably sit outside, but freezing food on the porch seems a bad idea bear-wise. Incidentally the deck seems really nice & will be great in summer. And seriously pay attention to how much water you’ve used - we let the waste water get too full & it was a drama emptying it behind the house, it was so heavy. We were warned, it’s just easy to forget.

  • This hostel is clean and the location environment is so wonderful and wonderful. By the way, Korean people are not familiar with the heating of the stove, so it will be difficult to use it.

  • I've stayed at Travelling Light BnB twice before, once at the Yurt and once at the lakeside cabin, and both were great experiences. It's close to town, but the scenery is BEAUTIFUL and the family is really nice, so it's nice to have breakfast with them. This time I had to cancel and Amanda was nice enough to refund me last minute. I appreciate her quick communication!

    Lisa2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place was extremely cozy and quiet. The cabin had everything that was expected and more. The views were stunning and the millions of stars up above during the night sky is unbeatable. Unfortunately I was unable to stay for the breakfast as our schedule was pretty tight. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys beautiful views and a cabin that doesn't disappoint.

  • Cabin is so beautiful and they are very kind. Thank you. :)

    Moonkyung2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This little piece of paradise was a cozy getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. You have an outstanding lake view right from your window and all the basics available. We had a lovely canoe down at the lake and settled in to a warm cabin, fueled by the wood stove in the suite. It puts out an extraordinary amount of heat for a little stove and there's plenty of firewood to keep the place warm. Amanda opened up her house to us with a lovely breakfast and the ability to have a warm shower and running water in the main structure, clearly a home that was crafted and curated with very personal touches and love. Would happily recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore Whitehorse or Carcross (it's almost equidistant) but also have direct access to nature and great views. Thanks again Amanda!

    Aki Mauree2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The view is what makes this place worth every penny! The cabin has your basic needs and the ability to use the main house for showering was much appreciated. We also loved how it was halfway between Whitehorse and Carcross so you can access both places in seemingly no time at all. Easy to find, easy to check in.

    Christina2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay at the lakeview cabin. It was clean and comfortable, the hosts were very accommodating, and the area was beautiful. We went down to the lake one night to paddle the canoes around. We also swam in the lake. Amanda gave us some tips about trails around the place and even let my boys help with her beehive. The breakfast was wonderful (and the coffee was strong and perfect!). I hope to come back next summer.

    Gabe2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was so sweet and helpful, the cabin was peaceful and homey, a delicious breakfast was a lovely touch, and canoeing on the lake was gorgeous and fun. A truly enjoyable stay.

  • As per the other reviews. This is a magical place. Hendrik Nicole and their kids are such amazing hosts with a big heart...and to me this is what made the difference with a lot of other cabin rentals. Not a lot more to say that wasn't said already...just book it, you will not regret it.

    Ugo2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A very special part of the world and very special people! The birdhouse is the perfect bolthole whatever time of year you are visiting. So much to see and do, we really loved staying outside of Whitehorse and being able to explore the city, surrounds and southern lakes. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a bit of escapism in its finest form.

  • Lovely and cozy little cabin. A fire was already on for us. We loved it! A "must go back" :)

  • I stayed at Nicole and Heinrik's place with my partner and a friend. The cabin is the perfect place for a relaxing day in the forest, playing board games or reading a book by the wood stove. The cabin is located on Marsh lake and is surrounded by hiking and cross country ski trails. The cabin is in fabulous shape, great design and very thoughtful touches. It is extremely clean and there is everything you need, water, wood, cutlery, glasses etc etc. We really appreciated having the fire started before our arrival, it's getting cold in the Yukon! We highly recommend and will be back very soon. Thank you!

There is a canoe to explore the lake and its fauna ( an eagle was feeding a few steps from our canoe). A path behind the house offers miles of hikes on cross-country sky trails. Andrea, a long time resident of Marsh Lake is very knowledgeable aboug the area and offers good suggestions. He is attentive to the comfort and well-being of his guests . • cozy little cabin on a huge lot in a beautiful area. the cabin is far enough away from stefans house to really enjoy privacy and near enough to easily walk over to grab a coffee in the morning or a bundle of firewood for the wood stove. stefan is a great host, has lots of knowledge about the area and even organzises all sorts of trips if you so desire. and he is a great cook too. thanks again for the steaks! me and my puppy really enjoyed our time there.

  • Stefan's cabin was exactly what we expected with how it was advertised. The cabin was clean, quaint, warm and simply lovely! There's a nice wood burning stove to keep the place warm. The kitchen amenities were simple, functional and served us well. The out house was also clean, simple and served it's purpose well. The setting was stellar! ..quiet, peaceful and we woke up to a moose in the yard! Quite ideal!

  • Rustic and exquisite cabin - hand crafted and I found it large and very comfortable. Wood Stove to keep warm, fantastic views - off the beaten path in a gorgeous part of the Yukon. Tagish is known for its beauty, wildlife, forests, lakes and quiet. Stefan is a fantastic host - and also built the cabins. There is an outhouse - as an FYI - no running water - but the kitchen has a large set-up for fresh water, and a stove for cooking, and electric and great wi-fi. Fantastic sauna and shower system set up as well and It's awesome!

  • Stefan's cabin is a dream place for holiday or just a few days staying quiet and relax. It's warm, clean and with fresh air around it. Stefan is a wonderful host, helpful, and warm-hearted. We hope that we could come back to stay another time.

  • We had an amazing stay and would very highly recommend this spot if you are looking for accommodation in Skagway or Dyea. (It is a 10-15 min beautiful drive from Skagway and well worth it!) Our cabin was clean and cosy with all of the modern amenities and the complimentary breakfast was delicious - and the perfect way to start our day of Chilkoot trail and old town exploring! But our favourite part of our stay (besides the wonderful hospitality) was sitting by the campfire after a long day enjoying ‘Alaskan Smores’! It is a lovely spot to make family memories (and hear stories of the history of the area!). Would definitely stay again!

Enjoy the simplicity of this unique cabin set in 21 private acres on Cowley Lake. This is the perfect place to base your Yukon adventures and take time out to relax. The stunning lake and mountain views are worth the visit. I hope you enjoy the photos...they are all taken on or around the property. It really is a photographer's paradise.
This unique cabin was originally built to be set on a river barge boat. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the property, it is now available for our guests during their time in the Yukon. There is a spacious living area, kitchen and bedroom. It's simple but homely. In traditional Yukon cabin style it has been hooked up to electricity, is heated by wood stove, does not have running water (we provide water for guests), and it's closest bathroom facilities is an outhouse in the forest!
Traveling Light Bed and Breakfast is a 25 minute drive south of Whitehorse on the Klondike Highway. Surrounded by spectacular forest, lake and mountain views we are the perfect base for a peaceful Yukon adventure. A short walk down the hill will take you straight to Cowley Lake where you can skate, ski and snowshoe in winter or swim and canoe in summer. Our property is very private, but close enough to Whitehorse to be convenient for guests to travel in to have dinner. Traveling Light Bed and Breakfast is perfectly situated in the Southern Lakes region of the Yukon where there is easy access to some of the most spectacular hiking, biking and skiing trails in the region.
  • Amanda has a spacious home and land. We enjoyed the fire pit outside which can be used to barbeque. Cabin is spacious with fun decor. Wood stove works well, outhouse super clean. We did not meet Amanda but enjoyed socializing with other guests over a great self serve breakfast. We are hosts and highly recommend.

  • LOVED our experiential stay here. Adventure Base cabin is beyond cozy, we enjoyed making fires for heat and the community feel of the housing space. The breakfast provided each morning of stay was incredible! Truly is a B&B. Amanda and Philippe or blessings, and are gifted in hospitality. My pup loved the space and enjoyed running around freely to play with other dogs. Would definitely stay there again!

  • Amanda was very quick to respond and confirm the reservation, which was wonderful considering it was a last minute trip. The space was incredibly special, and the grounds were stunning. There was a lovely little hike down to a lake and plenty of area to explore. The access to the main house for indoor plumbing and showering purposes was greatly appreciated, and the breakfast in the morning that was provided proved delicious. We were also given a flexible check-in time. The B&B was a perfect spot for the night.

  • Amanda and Philippe were very welcoming and made our stay enjoyable. The lake was a quiet and scenic spot and we had a comfortable overnight stay. Thanks for the delicious breakfast!

  • Amanda is an amazing host and the Adventure Cabin is clean and super comfortable. It was so wonderful that I stayed an extra night! The bed is very firm and comfortable. Everything was nice and clean and the wood stove was lovely to have for chilly evenings. Instructions for the wood stove were clear and easy to follow. No running water or bathroom in the cabin, as mentioned in the listing, but the outhouse is easy to access and I was made welcome and had access to the bathroom/shower in the house whenever needed. Would definitely stay again!

As well, an outdoor wood fired sauna is available(please request it 1 day ahead so I can be sure to have it ready) I can arrange custom tours to some of my local favorite areas for an additional fee. Need another room? A second bedroom is available(book Mount Lorne Meadows Home 2 as well as this one) Both rooms are beside each other and bathroom is shared between the 2 rooms.
This is a unique location halfway between Whitehorse and Carcross(25 to 30 minutes drive) which allows for exploring local trails, rivers, lakes.. As well Skagway is a good day trip to explore in to Alaska. During the winter, moose make an almost daily appearance as they wander around the meadows.
