"Sakurae-kan" is a Japanese-style modern guest house that has been renovated by taking advantage of the retro atmosphere of the Taisho period building.

Sakurae-kan is a private old private house located in Sakurae-cho, at the foot of the national treasure Zenko-ji Temple, the symbol of Shinshu. Zenkoji Temple is a 5-minute walk away. It is a Japanese-style modern building that has been renovated taking advantage of the retro atmosphere of Taisho period architecture. On the way to Zenkoji Temple, there is the quaint Shukubo-dori Street, and at the end of Zenkoji Temple, there is also Joyama Park, the Nagano Prefectural Museum of Art, and the Higashiyama Kaiikan, which is a resting place for Nagano citizens, so why not relax? There are many cafes, bakeries, Italian, French restaurants and cafeterias nearby, so it is convenient for eating out. Of course, you can also enjoy walking around Shinshu Soba, a specialty. The house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a spectacular view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, and Matsuo) about 15-20 minutes away by car, and they are also a great base for winter sports. Enjoy a wood-burning stove sauna and a water bath with stunning views. There are no private houses around, so you can watch music and movies with loud noises. Since it is a house nestled in the mountains, we will do our best to take care of it, but during the warmer months, insects can be seen.It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, the leaves fall. You will also need to adjust the wood burning stove yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but it's got an incredible view. The time flows graceful here, while the interval of farm labor or works in the mountain. It is a special time to have Coffee or Beer while looking at Mt. Morai on the other side.
