Pictures say it all! This view is amazing and the layout was perfect for our group. Hot tub is right outside a bedroom door and was so awesome to hang out on a cool night! Relaxation was so easily done here! The amenities were spot on and they even go above and beyond and supply shampoo and conditioner! Hey that’s a win in my book.

Our stay was absolutely amazing, we had a brief ant problem but when our host was made aware of it, she promptly helped. The accommodations were amazing and the view wonderful. It was a perfect quaint cottage for two. We would absolutely stay again and very much enjoyed our time there.

Obviously a hand-built space, full of love and details. Great low-key hospitality, a friendly pooch and a setting to beat the band. Who could ask for more? I will return when I'm able - a great place!

Cozy, comfortable cottage with an amazing view! I had read previous comments so expected the hot plate burners for cooking and small bathroom with tiny sink. We managed quite well by keeping things simple. The internet connection at the cottage was inconsistent and we found absolute joy in the disconnecting for a few days. Thanks for a fabulous weekend J.A.!!! We would do it again!

I enjoyed staying here! After a long drive getting there, it was nice to have a bar to walk to right next door. They also thought of the small things, like leaving coffee, filling ice cube trays, providing dog bowls, leaving a pack of matches, a container of cookies and more. Lots of thoughtful touches here!

Nice little place with everything you need. Great location with fun amenities and the beach nearby, though by car. We walked to the beach but the road was fairly busy with no real shoulder. Noise from the bar wasn't too bad and made for a nice ambiance on the back patio.

This place is exactly as described and best of all very clean. There is a kitchen with everything and a cozy bed. The only downfall was we could hear the music a tiny bit from the bar next door for about an hour or so, but then we went and joined in on the fun and by the time we were home it was quiet. I would imagine if you want absolute silence this place isn’t for you but other than that it’s great!

It was a great place to stay and helped save us some cash by being able to cook in the unit! Very comfortable, you might consider bringing earplugs because its very close to the clam tavern but any noise didn't bother us!

This place was perfect for me! I went on a solo trip, and spend most of my time hiking. The space was exactly what I was looking for, and had the CUTEST back patio to kick back and relax. I know in other reviews, people mentioned the noise/music from the tavern. It was a little loud, but I put on some “sleep/meditation” music on, and it worked like a charm. I had no problems sleeping. The host also included coupons for local places which was a great touch 😊

I am so glad we chose to stay here! It was perfect enough for the view alone but the house itself was even better than we expected. The house was very cozy and had all that we needed for the couple of days we stayed here, the kitchen was great. The soaking tub was plenty big enough for two people to enjoy and was by far our favorite part - we made sure we were back to the house in time to enjoy a nice hot sunset bath and watch the ocean both nights we were here. The house has a heater which was perfect for the chilly nights. The market and restaurants in Trinidad was a short drive and so convenient and it was a perfect distance away from the redwood national park for us to go do some great sightseeing. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I find myself in this area!!

Great place to stay! Stunning views and a great deck. Needs some deep cleaning, but otherwise it was a good choice. The restroom and couch were dirty, but generally in okay condition. The heater didn't seem to work properly, it would not fully heat up the house. The fireplace would not light, we gave up after 15 minutes of trying to make it work. Otherwise, it's a great place and the views and soaking tub are worth it alone!

Loved my stay at the eco cabin. For all my sustainable, mindful, eco friendly, creative innovators this place is a must. So much thought and energy into making an eco cabin. Steve is very intriguing and passionate about his craftsmanship. Loved learning about it all. Thank you for the warm and fulfilled hospitality. Had everything I needed for the colder of nights (Heater, hot water, etc). Will be back in the summer. Friendly, welcoming and a joy wraps it up.

This place is a gem. Besides being environmentally friendly it’s a great deal for you wallet. The hosts are so great at responding/giving directions/friendly and being hospitable. The location is also a big plus since it’s minutes away from Patrick’s Point and Trinidad. Looking forward to staying there in the future!

This is a brand new and cool space. It looks better than the pictures and is very comfortable. It’s an outbuilding and a green house turned into a guesthouse. Steve and Casey Jo are focused on sustainability and living in balance with this world and therefore the guest house reflects their lifestyle. There is a composting toilet and a nice hot but “as needed” hot shower. The bathroom facilities are in the unheated greenhouse portion which is enclosed by sheets of plastic. It’s very neat and tidy. There is plush bathroom rug to step on as you come out of the hot shower and even if the air is cold, your body and feet are warm. From there it’s a couple steps into the cabin through big shed-type double doors where the small space heater keeps the place nice and warm. The cabin is cozy, new, clean, comfortable, well designed/built, has two big futon beds, looks better than the pictures, and has two entrances/exits for safety. The hosts are awesome and, even though there were a few little glitches that arise because the space is new, they were super helpful and fixed things immediately. They also gave me rides to a local physical therapist, shopping and small errands. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience.

My husband and I found this to be a perfect place to stay! Rose gave us excellent directions and made sure we found her place. Everything was clean and the area is beautiful!

Rose and Dick’s home is very cosy and comfortable, beautifully situated in a forest. The space available to us was huge. Rose left us little treats and a personal welcoming card which was such a beautiful touch. The water pressure in the shower was great. The best unexpected treat was the night sky. The stars were out in all their beauty and because of the lack of light pollution in that general area, the sky was amazing. This is a wonderful place to stay. Magical.

Rose and Dick were so nice to me and my husband - they gave us cakes and cider bottles as we were on our honeymoon, and even made a lovely card for us. We felt so touched. About the space, it’s in a separate building from theirs. You have to climb up some stairs, then everything from the bed to the TV to the kitchen to the bathroom is on the same level. As Christmas just passed, there were really cute ornaments everywhere. The bed was really comfortable and you can’t really want for anything. There’s a nice deck outside too, but it was raining the night we stayed there so we couldn’t really enjoy it. Overall, it was a nice secluded stay, really peaceful.

It’s unfortunate that we arrived after dark and not able to appreciate the views and a walk down to the beach. Rose and Dick are very thoughtful hosts.

This cottage is clean,cozy, and right in the midst of everything...beaches,redwoods,elk,hikes!

This place was extremely clean, well stocked and comfortable. We enjoyed the area, view and hearing the seals on the beach below. We even had some peacocks come visit our yard!

My husband and I had one of the best romantic getaways ever at the Alder Cottage. Not only did we arrive to a property that was impecably clean, the host had the heater on and some welcome music playing for us. We had a small hiccup with the hot tub and Vacasa was incredible with their response time in resolving the issue. Real top notch service. They made us feel like VIP's instead of a nuisance as some hosts can do. One of the highlights of the house is the well equipped kitchen. This is one of the rare airbnb properties that has a good, sharp set of knives. All the dishes, cookware and cutlery were of excellent quality. Do take the time to walk down to the bluff and enjoy the breathtaking views. All in all, the property felt very private despite sharing a driveway and yard with the neighboring cottage. My husband and I agreed that this is one of our favorite airbnb stays of all time, and we've been to quite a few. Highest regards to the Vacasa team and can't wait to return!

My boyfriend and I spent several days at the cottage and were amazed with the location and amenities. The views from the bluff are gorgeous and the hot tub was a great addition to a chilly vacation. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of barking sea lions and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean. You don’t have to leave the cottage for great views - you can watch the peacocks on the lawn while you have breakfast! If you must leave the cottage, Fern Canyon, Prairie Creek Redwoods, several beaches, and the Humboldt State Marine Lab (for little or big guests) were a short drive away!

The space was just right for what my husband and I were looking for on our getaway. The proximity to the ocean was such a special highlight, it was clean, cozy, and in such a great location! Would definitely book again in the future!

Tracy was a great host, and very kind. I stayed there with my two year old, and he loved the farm animals. Tracy gave us carrots every day to feed to the donkeys.

Absolutely lovely spot to stay! Out of the way and quiet, a perfect place for a weekend retreat. The animals were lovely and fun to meet, and the soaking tub was absolutely glorious! Very close to Arcata and Eureka, as well as both entrances to the Redwood forests for hiking and beaches.

This is such a spectacular getaway- the special touches Tracy leaves in the room make you feel oh so special. My boyfriend and I spent our Valentine’s Day weekend here to celebrate the holiday and our 2 year anniversary. We brought our two dogs and it was still enough space for the four of us to be comfortable. We will definitely be making a trip back this summer!

This is a gem! For the price you can’t beat it. This was exactly what I needed! I work nights and wanted to sleep in the day! Amazingly quiet! Joe is kind, friendly and just a easy going person! Great host. And his response is fast. The house is exactly how you see it.

We were on a trip down to San Fran and needed a place to crash for the night. We loved downtown Arcata and found a room here for the night. Joe was quick to respond and easy to communicate with, super easy check in and convenient check in and check out times.

This place is phenomenal. The view is amazing, the interior design is so relaxing and wonderful to stay in, and the kitchen met every need we had.

A perfect place with all the feels of home. I really enjoyed spending time on the back patio with the fire pit and sitting area. We watched the moon rise over the flats, picturesque and perfect!

The location right on the bay is fantastic and French doors and windows make the most of the view. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. The bed was super comfy, too. Just a very peaceful, relaxing spot. We enjoyed exploring nearby Arcata (dinner at the Pub and then a trip to Wildberries Market to pick up a few things). All in all, a fabulous place to break our trip down from Portland to LA.

The location on the bay is just gorgeous. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The towels were soft and fluffy and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we come back through Arcata.

Staying in Sonja’s home has been one of my favorite Airbnb experiences. Her home is welcoming, beautiful and a retreat with all the little nooks in nature. In the garden. There was a mixup with the bookings and she even gave me her personal bed. This is hospitality! No doubt I will be coming back here.

I love staying in the room in that big country house. Granted, I like things off the beaten path and Sonja’s house was like that: large, old,sprawling, with many interesting elements including a piano. Large country kitchen. Absolutely beautiful view into the backyard from the bedroom and a lovely backyard. The house was on a cold side when I got there, but the room had an electric passive heater and so did the bathroom. Room is not large, but comfy for a single person. I felt very comfortable and welcome and hope to stop by again on my travels. Thank you Sonja for accommodating me at absolutely last moment!

We just needed a place to stop on our way to the redwoods and this place was perfect for us. We were able to find the space easily late at night and the room we stayed in was super cute. She even had the heat on for us, which was nice. And it was nice to wake up with a view of the cozy backyard in the woods through the siding glass doors.

Sonja’s place is so charming! I felt so accommodated in my last minute booking and although my stay was all of 12 hours it was really delightful and just what I needed before driving back home. I highly recommend her place if you want a cozy little spot in the redwoods. I would definitely stay here again!

Sonja is incredibly nice and a wonderful host (and so were the adorable cats!). The bed was soooo comfortable and she had plenty of yummy snacks. She also gave me great local tips on things to see while in the area. Would very much stay again if I come back to the area!

We had a lovely stay at Claire’s place. The home was small but perfectly styled and clean! It was not as remote as we had anticipated, but the neighborhood was quiet and very close to the beach. The temperature was a little hard to get right but otherwise everything was great!

It’s a great location to explore Trinidad and the surrounding areas. The space is very clean and the decor is simply beautiful. I was traveling with my best friend and my dog. We felt very safe and comfortable at Clair’s place. I can’t wait to return with my husband. I highly recommend it.

Everything is so clean and modern with a few vintage touches. It smells super clean when you walk in and it's super bright. Trinidad was the perfect location in between Eureka and the national redwood forest, which made our trip so special.

This is the perfect spot for a quiet, peaceful, and restful getaway with close access to local beaches, redwoods, and coastal towns. The space was clean and fresh. A quiet and peaceful location. It’s also a great space to just hole up in to rest or write or enjoy some time to yourself. Clair is a wonderful host, responds quickly to any questions, and provides easy to follow directions on how to get there. All the windows and skylights let in beautiful natural light throughout the day and allow you to stare at the stars from bed at night. The shower is nice and hot, a full kitchen, comfy bed, and a space heater keeps the place plenty warm in the winter. I loved my time here and would gladly book another stay!

Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Alex and Allison but we absolutely loved our stay in their airstream. If you're looking for a cozy place to stay and an unbeatable beach sunset just a short walking distance from the airstream, then this is the place for you. We will definitely be back!!

This beautifully designed space was the perfect resting stop along a road trip, although we wish we had alotted more time to staying here! The airstream has a private entrance and we were greeted by the lovely cat Raj upon arrival. Highly recommend booking a stay here.

Lauren and Steve offer a very accommodating and comfortant stay in their beautiful studio. It feels very secluded and has a wonderful forest view out front. Try to use the fire pit if you can! They offer everything you could need, the place was very clean, and they are very quick to respond to questions and concerns. We hope to stay again!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and it was perfect. We were looking for a place that was near Redwoods National Park and that felt secluded in nature. This place was exactly what we were hoping for! The check-in instructions made the place was easy to find. The studio had all the amenities we needed and was very clean.

This place is clean, very cute, and in a great location. It’s right in the redwoods and near to all the best trails. It comfortable, had coffee and tea available for lazy mornings and early mornings before exploring, and was right next to delicious restaurants in Trinidad. And the beach! It was a joy to stay here. It was so charming!

We had a great stay here and would come back anytime. It’s a lovely place and the town close by offers some places to have meals.

I loved Donovan’s place! It was perfectly located close to Arcata and the redwoods (the most beautiful and humbling hike of my life at Prairie creek!) The apartment had everything I needed, well equipped kitchen and really comfy bed and linen. Would love to return here in the future.

Donavan's place was an amazing place to stay. We were only there for one night, but we had a great experience. The check-in process was easy with good instructions and directions to the location that included parking. The apartment was modern and neatly decorated with many amenities such as snacks, mini-frige, and I especially enjoyed the smart TV that had Netflix and Hulu. The bed was very comfortable and we had many warm blankets when it got cold at night as we stayed in early February. This place was lovely and I would recommend it to anyone!

Because of car issues we were unable to stay at Donovans place. I am sure that we will stay at his place sometime in the future.

This little Bungalow was perfect for my friend and I on our little “mom-cation.” It was easy to find and more spacious than expected. They provided user friendly instructions and everything thing we needed. Very clean, comfy, and safe. I highly recommend staying here and checking out the little beautiful town of Trinidad. While staying here, we spent a day hiking around Fern Canyon which is a must! Can’t wait to stay in our Bungalow retreat again!!

Talk about great location! Our dogs loved being in the woods and we loved being 5 minutes away from Trinidad and the beach. It was impossible not to have a smile on your face when you wake up with a view out to the redwoods. I even messed up and didnt book an extra night that we needed, and the hosts graciously worked with me to get another night booked in the bungalow after I made a late night call to them.

My husband and I loved staying in this tiny bungalow! The home was cozy and nestled in the most beautiful setting. Trinidad has much to offer ... we discovered something new every day! From the beaches to the redwoods and the sunsets, to the art cooperative and the winery. Great location and wonderful home!

Brian is rennovating this beautiful house and it was a pleasure to stay there. The location is perfect, if you want to visit the Redwood Forest. In case I come back to the area I'd definitely try to stay there again.

I had no idea there even were any Victorian houses in McKinleyville until I stayed here. There were so many beautiful details and they're doing a great job of restoring and renovating. My room was perfect and the tub was fabulous!

This place is sparkling clean, stylish, convenient for Humboldt towns and the national/state parks. The bed was the coziest bed I've ever slept in. Maria was super quick to respond to questions, there is free wifi, and toiletries were provided. I would definitely stay again.

This was a great place to stay. It was clean and stylish. You can’t beat the location - walking distance to the plaza, yummy restaurants and the Wildberries grocery store. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful cottage in the city of Arcata. I stayed overnight for an out of town work trip and found this to be exactly what I needed. The cottage is located close to several different restaurants and quiet at night allowing for a peaceful sleep before an early morning. It was fresh, clean, and stocked with things I needed for my stay. There were clean towels, dishes, and pots and pans for my use if needed. Fast WiFi made my stay convenient. And check in was straightforward and simple. I highly recommend Maria’s place.

We stayed at Jerry’s Place while in the middle of a three month long road trip. We had been camping for about a week beforehand. The place could use a deep clean, but overall its a great value for anyone traveling on a budget. It had all the essentials we needed for a place to rest and recalibrate for a night. There’s no TV, but the WiFi works very well and we were able to watch Netflix on our laptop. While the sofa bed wasn’t quite long enough for my boyfriend (granted he’s 6’3”) it was very comfortable, so don’t let that deter you. We had been sick of fast food/eating out from our travels, so we actually made use of the kitchen. It has more than enough supplies to whip up a simple meal. Overall, Jerry’s Place was a positive experience and we would stay again. Thank you!

Nice quite place, comfortable, perfect for the couple or single person. Meets my criteria, of hot shower, comfy bed , peaceful atmosphere!

Cozy little studio, nothing too fancy but fantastic for the price.The room is in its own little building with a full kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom. Jerry was very kind and and hospitable, and offered me quite a few thoughtful travel suggestions. A nice stay for anyone passing through.

We had to stay here for a week before we got a place to live, and it was a beautiful and relaxing stay. Kirsten was very helpful and made the stay comfortable for us. The area is amazing and there was even a fun hike nearby. We will definitely recommend!

Great location! Perfect for traveling professionals. Kitchenette is perfect with everything you need to prepare a meal. Kirsten is knowledge about sites to visit and hot tubs to relax in this area. Very close to Pacific Ocean, and hiking up to the big trees. Beautiful flowers and family environment. I would stay here in the future.

Dawn's place is a pleasant one-bedroom back-yard cottage with a view of the Mad River and the ocean. It's very convenient to downtown McKinleyville. The cottage is well stocked for cooking, and has coffee, tea and spices. Dawn has chickens and provides eggs to the tenants; they were delicious! We'll be back!

I would recommend this airstream to anyone who needs a getaway with a camping feel. The hosts have done an amazing job not only keeping the airstream beautiful, but also providing a level of comfort with both their yard and beach access. The beach is only a couple minutes walk away and there were so many times we felt like the only people for miles. Allison suggested we check out fern canyon and it was one of the greatest suggestions we could have received. I cannot recommend this stay enough. We will for sure be making a trip back when we can.

Such a cute space to stay! I loved the airstream experience and surprisingly the outdoor bath/shower on a chilly eve! The beach isn't a far walk and had a pretty amazing sunset! Totally recommend this great space! thanks for having the pup and I 😊

This was a very clean and neat Place to stay with a lot of Little fun touches in the cabin. The location was excellent 10 minutes Arcata Ten minutes to Eureka .Definitely will return!

Amazing place to stay, clean and homey

Cary was instantly communicative. The space is a well-appointed 1 brd cabin with a lovely book collection, a nice simple kitchen (everything works) and a clean bathroom. No complaints. Good value for less than 100 a night.

Cary’s cozy hideaway provided the perfect spot for my daughter to rest and rejuvenate when she came to town recently. The space is delightful and Cary was helpful and attentive.

This house was awesome! It's a perfect little surf cottage away from town but still close enough to everything you'd want to do on your visit to Arcata. We had a great time exploring the beaches and nearby dunes and all the attractions in town, and the house was always a warm and cozy place to return to at night. The layout is wonderful and makes the most of the small area, there are tons of cool books to check out, and the French press was an added bonus. It truly felt like a home away from home, and we'd absolutely stay here again if we return.

This was a great place to stay for hiking in the Redwoods . Not too far from the state and national parks, Rebecca had everything ready for us, very clean, comfortable and yummy snacks were a nice touch!

Super comfortable, the portable heater in the bedroom was great use, I took a bath and was able to heat up leftovers in the kitchenette and make tea. The bed was COZY!

We loved this place!!! Within close reach of the Redwoods, Patrick’s Point, Trinidad, and Eureka. The home is adorable, very comfortable, and extremely cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed having the gas fireplace and hot tub after hiking 10 miles a day! Would recommend and will be back!

We had a great stay at Nancy's place. Very close to the grocery store which was convenient, and about a 45 minute drive from the Prairie Creek National Park. The hot tub was very relaxing and the amenities provided were thoughtful. Would definitely stay again!

Close proximity to the ocean so that you can hear it. If you are needing an airport, it's only two minutes away. The airport is small enough you are not bothered by the sounds of the airplanes.

LOVED this Airbnb! BOOK IT!! This place was SO nice. Boyfriend and I took a romantic getaway to the woods and this was EXACTLY what we wanted/needed. This is one of the cleanest, nicest air bnb’s I have ever stayed at. The bedding was super nice and the bed itself was super comfortable. Overall super homey environment. Not to mention, they were super quick with responding when I had a few questions. My family ran into the owner outside in passing (he lives next door) and said he was super friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

We were looking for a place of visiting family in McKinleyville. Moonstone was spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked. I would recommend it to couples or a family.

This is an absolute gem of a place, big and airy and bright, with beautiful furnishings and views from every huge window of the lovely gardens. It is sparkling clean, which is no small feat in very damp Humboldt County! We loved it and you will too.

The Red Alder Retreat is a real special, beautiful space! The lighting is amazing, everything was immaculate, and it’s located in a quiet easy access neighborhood, with a big grassy back yard. Deva and Ilene were very accommodating with our special request, too, which I really appreciate.

This place is as attractive as it looks in the photos. It is big, bright, and quiet, with plenty of spots with good lighting to facilitate reading in the evening, but the ability for dim mood lighting as well. The bed and bedding is very comfortable, and additional towels, pillows, and blankets available in the room. We had everything we needed.

We very much enjoyed our stay here! Amazing location and close to Redwood NP/SP and some amazing other hikes and beaches. Cute and small space and had everything we needed. Great hosting as well, communicated great and was very generous to us!

My cat and I had another wonderful stay at Celine’s little cabin. We highly recommend this home if you are making a trip to the northern Humboldt County area. It is clean, quiet, and picturesque.
