  • It was a perfect retreat from the city. The communications were prompt and thoughtful. The space was very clean. We appreciate our pup being welcome who scouted the woods and roads. The location is great for a Eastern Shore exploration.

  • Such an awesome spot! I loved it, would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a little get away.

  • Very clean, tranquil modern space. Bed was very comfortable. Loved waking up feeling like I was in a remote location but yet not far from the city. We plan to go again when the weather is warmer to take advantage of the firepit overlooking a beautiful river and forest scene. Highly recommend.

  • Monique 's cottage is beautifully situated by the water with easy access to route 7 and local beaches and parks.

  • Thank you for a lovely stay. It well very well equipped and comfortable. Great spot to put your kayak in the water. We will be back!

    Helen2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Second time staying at Monique's. Lovely host and lovely little spot. A nice little getaway from the city, close to beaches and kayaking, or you can just stay put and watch the rise and fall of the tide right in front of you.

    Linda2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, very private, comfortable and well equipped cottage. No complaints whatsoever. It surpassed our expectations.

    Bridget2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Monique's place is situated with a great view of an ocean inlet. The cottage was spotless and comfortable and had everything we needed. Eating breakfast on the sunny deck was a treat. Location is a little way from food shopping, etc., (which we expected) so we went fully prepared. And fyi, the restaurant at Salmon River is worth the drive. Fish and chips excellent and we watched a heron fishing at dusk (successfully!) from our table overlooking the water. Altogether a very relaxing and enjoyable few days. Thanks to terrific Nova Scotian hosts.

    Judith2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the lighthouse cottage. The location was ideal for us as it was less then a 5 minute walk from Murphy's Camp where we had family staying. The spot it itself was so peaceful and scenic. Beautiful spot. The cottage itself was cozy and had everything we needed. Our favourite part was sitting on the deck each morning having our coffee and breakfast looking at the beautiful surroundings-water, trees, birds, deer... Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is staying in the area. Monique, Ron and Bingo (the friendly dog) were wonderful hosts.

    Teresa2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy little cottage highly exceeded my expectations in every way! Immaculately clean accommodations situated on a gorgeously maintained property. If you’re looking for absolute peace & quiet, do not hesitate to book! Had a day full of activities planned but decided there was no reason to leave! Sun, water and relaxation was all right there. Wish I could have stayed longer, but will return again soon! Thanks Monique!

    Kylah2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to unwind , very close to the water and very quiet. We even saw a deer family 😍 Monique replied to all my questions quickly. The place is very neat and have more than what’s listed , they have a fire extinguisher!!! ♥️ Monique , Ron and Bingo (dog) are the most hospitable hosts we have ever met😘 Great people still exist!!! The local tips were a great help. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone!!!

The only brewery between Dartmouth and Sheet Harbour. * 2 min drive to the amazing Harbour Fish’n Fries, local pizzeria and icecream (Polar Bear Express), in season. * Sitting just off the Eastern Shore of Halifax lies a beautiful archipelago of over 100 Wild Islands dotted with white sand beaches, windswept headlands, boreal rainforests, thriving bogs and swampland. Covering over 250 kilometers of shoreline, these islands remain largely undisturbed by humans. Unmatched opportunities abound for exploration and discovery!
  • I can honestly say this spot is worth 5 stars in every category. It was immaculately clean, a perfect location and view, and had everything one could need. When my boyfriend and I opened one of the side table drawers in the bedroom to find a sleep mask and ear plugs we actually laughed because we couldn’t believe how much every detail was thought of. Perfect hospitality. Katherine will respond to any concern you have or leave you to your privacy if that’s what you prefer. I will absolutely be back here.

    Lauren2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at Kathy and John’s harbour house was amazing! The apartment is immaculate and full of warm touches that make you feel welcomed. The view of the harbour is spectacular, especially when you watch the sunset in the hot tub. I recommend this inviting space to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the area.

    Braelin2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What’s not to love about this beautiful spot and wonderful hospitality of Katharine and John. Everything was above and beyond and we refer to this as our favourite getaway place.

    J2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy place is well decorated and very clean. The host has a unique flair and does everything to make people feel comfortable and at home, with special little "extras". Beautiful view of the water. Hot tub was a bonus!

    Cindy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home that over looks the water! Katharine thought of everything from little dishes for jewellery on the bedside tables to a well stocked pantry and fridge. There are endless activities inside in case the weather is problematic but otherwise the property is on a beautiful space and the outdoors will keep you busy. This was a wonderful trip and we enjoyed every dish of chocolates and candies :)

    Olivia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • When we first arrived we already knew we were in for a treat just based off of the magnificent view of the inlet. We were visiting the area to see family and were travelling with our 8-month old baby. Katharine had absolutely everything we could have needed when travelling with an infant. The crib was set up for us and she provided us with lots of baby products to use (baby bathtub, soaps, toys, books, baby seat, etc.) and even a sweet gift with a new baby bib! Above and beyond would be the best way to summarize our stay. The hot tub at night was an amazing treat for us tired parents. We were able to relax and look at the stars even though it was below zero. Honestly, we have absolutely nothing negative to say. We even had fresh brown bread and jam from local vendors provided by Katharine... and little chocolates nestled into every room so that we always had a treat nearby. Need I say more?

    Nathan2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden gem in a gorgeous part of Nova Scotia. Perfect getaway and hosts take care of everything and even provide essentials in case you forgot something! Can’t recommend enough booking with Katharine and enjoying their little slice of heaven.

    Luke2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is my third visit and it remains my favourite getaway place. A sanctuary for relaxation, a little pampering (the hot tub) and time to recharge. The hosts are beyond amazing and personalize each of my visits. Although you are in the same building (different entrances) you cannot hear anything from upstairs. I give them the highest ratings.

The Nordic Huts are seaside micro-cabins nestled in the forest of the Norse Cove campground along the Atlantic Ocean shoreline. Very basic shelter in an amazing locale. Showers and toilet facilities in a separate (but close) building along with a cooking area, Wifi campfire rings and picnic tables. Wander the forest and walk the shoreline. This is a perfect getaway. Bed(s) are available with mattresses for you to set up your sleeping bag in comfort. Prices include local taxes (HST).
  • This place is absolutely breathtaking and is quite literally the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at. Kudos 👏

    Dan2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is perfect! Clean and comfortable for us and our two dogs. Lovely view and relaxing vibe. Hosts were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back!

    Hayley2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • It's a peaceful, unique and magical place! Kim is a caring woman and makes us feel good.

    Nathalie2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Norse Cove, they were very friendly upon arrival and welcomed our 2 large dogs with open arms. The Nordic Hutt was clean and the campsite had a picnic table and fire pit. We came to camp out but didn't need to rough it at all because they had a clean washroom, bbq to cook on and dish washing station. Campsites arnt overly private but they are spaced out enough not to bug your neighbors. Can't wait to see what's next in store for Norse Cove, see you next year! One last thought: breakfast sandwich and coffee are AWESOME!

    Monica2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really good stay in the NorseCove Cabin by the Ocean. For sure, we'll renew this as soon as possible. It's a really good place to recharge the energy, hear the waves, kayak in the 100 wild islands, eat fresh mussels, take a hike at Taylors's head... and more. Kim and Werner and really good hosts. Please keep this place peaceful as it is :)

    Dominique2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Werner were very hospitable and laid back. The hut I stayed in was a few meters from the ocean and with the door left open, I could be in the comfort of the hut with a gorgeous view. Not many others nearby made for a peaceful and quiet rustic getaway. Facilities were clean and convenient, and I appreciated a hot shower after hiking at Taylor's Head. I look forward to returning for future oceanside stays!

    Catherine-Anne2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed on the Nordic hut by the ocean. I through some mosquito netting on my bed and slept with the door open, facing the ocean. Fell asleep to the sounds of waves and the buoy. I had come to get away from everyday life but still stay connected so I could do some planning and business work. My office literally became s picnic table by the ocean and the wifi connection worked fabulous. The hosts were super helpful, the cafe coffee is delicious but most of all, the scenery was stunning. It was a great place to go to get work done and yet still destress and connect to nature.

    Sarah2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Werner were very accommodating and a joy to be around. I have done my fair share of camping and this location is one that I will definitely want to get back to. It is small, quiet and peaceful. The facilities are basic and clean with impeccable views of the ocean. Could not have asked for better.

My place is close to the beach. You’ll love my place because of the location, the outdoors space, and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The house is located at the end of the East Jeddore Road with only two neighbors homes visible from the windows. It is a 5 minute walk to a rocky beach, and a 5 minute drive to the harbor where you can walk along the sand and tide pools, Martinique beach and Clam Harbor beaches are a 30 minute drive. I think the drive to Martinique is very pretty. To get to the beach 5 minutes away from the house you will have to walk toward the last house on the road. Once in the driveway look left. Between the bunk house and the garage is a path. Follow the path to the beach. The walk may be wet on your shoes. Look for blueberries along the way and feel free to pick them. The old white house at the end of the road is owned by a very nice man who rents to a very nice person named Bill. Bill works all day and, even if he were home, wouldn't care if you walked through the property to the beach. If you chance to see and talk to Bill, he may be able to direct you to local lobster ready for boiling because he works for a lobster distributer. He also plays a super guitar in town on the weekends.
  • Such a cozy space! Had a group of friends here and a cool pup. Felt so relaxed here. Very clean as well. We all felt like it was a vintage cozy getaway. Looking forward to returning!

  • Wonderful stay 🤗

    Kripa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, quiet and cozy place. Made for the perfect getaway.

    Rob2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Its an older cottage built in the 90s but in good shape and well taken care of. We liked the place. It is a countryside place so its not the same as a house in town but that is what we wanted. There is some wear and tear to be seen as it is an older building but nothing that would be an issue. So I would happily stay there again many times. It is of course a place that is used by the owners from time to time. So if anyone has an issue with them having their personal belongings there to some extent I would like to mention that this i the case. But we did not mind that at all.

    Nicolas2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quick beautiful walk to the rocky beach!

    Shane2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was a beautiful house, slightly away from the city but it was amazing driving and staying at this place.

    Joshua2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet secluded spot as described, great for our short stay, would have stayed longer if we had time.

    Alan2019-08-27T00:00:00Z

  • Great place, peaceful atmosphere and perfect location for water adventures in the region. Susan is an awesome host !

    Théo2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s home is nestled in a quaint fishing village that offers terrific views. As I entered Susan’s home, she immediately put me at ease. She made me feel comfortable to settle myself in the various nooks throughout the house and to use the kitchen to cook my dinners. Susan provides a relaxed atmosphere where lively conversations can take place. A delicious breakfast spread was served and shared in the mornings. The bedroom is very spacious and comfortable. I had one of the best night’s sleep: with the bedroom window open, you can hear the ocean waves crashing! I had a terrific stay with Susan and would highly recommend this spot for those who wish to explore the Eastern Shore and get to know a local!

  • Cozy house on the island is just perfect for a getaway from the city. I loved her house and a great hospitality. If you’re looking to go glam digging or surfing this is the place. Loved everyday I stayed there.

    Santa2018-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a magical place. Full of lights and colours. I felt like I was visiting a friend's house. Susan made me feel at home right away and she is one of the most fabulous people I've ever met. I loved spending day time exploring the spectacular surroundings and night time talking to Susan in front of the wood stove. Indeed I was fortunate to have been here and have met her in this very special place.

Retreat and recover from the stress of the world. No TV or internet just a book and cozy fire. 10 minute walk to beautiful white sandy Martinique Beach and National Park. Famous for surfing and lessons can be taken daily.
Beautiful dock with use of a canoe
15 minutes to musquodoboit Harbour and 45minutes to Halifax
  • We were so lucky to find this little piece of paradise. The cottage is newly built and beautifully decorated. It slept our family of five very comfortably. Having no wifi allowed us to have quality family time together uninterrupted by the draw of technology. We came prepared with a few dvd’s but in the end only watched one or two, choosing rather to play a game of cards or sit down to a board game together in the evenings. The outdoor space is quite lovely, allowing us to enjoy the stunning sunsets from the front deck. Depending on the time of year, come prepared with bug spray though if you want to spend time outside. The close proximity to Martinique Beach was fantastic. For those days where the weather wasn’t ideal for the beach, Dartmouth and Halifax were a short 45 minute drive, allowing us to pop into the city for the day or evening. Vincent was a fantastic host, and got back to us very quickly with any questions we had. We feel so lucky to have been able to spend the week at this lovely cottage and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of their lives.

  • This cottage is perfect if you’re looking for a very comfortable, clean and beautiful place to stay while you enjoy what the area has to offer! With gorgeous sunsets over the ocean every night, a fireplace for the cold nights, and very efficient air conditioner, this space was the perfect place for my new husband and I to decompress after the craziness of our wedding! I’d highly recommend this place!!! Hopefully we’ll be able to stay here again!

  • A cozy cottage with breathtaking views and close to a great beach for surfing. Without tv and wifi it allowed us to meet family or board games were at the rendezvous. Thank you for everything Vincent.

    Francis2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The views from Vincent’s place are extraordinary - the photos really don’t do it justice - and the location was perfect for a week of surfing (or at least trying to!) at Martinique beach for my family of 3. We didn’t miss the wifi and we never turned on the TV, but did make good use of the board game collection we found in the evenings. Towels and linens were more cottage than hotel, but clean and plentiful. The kitchen equipment provided was basic, but we had no trouble cooking dinner every night. You need to plan on either cooking or driving a ways for your meals - the nearest town has basic amenities including a Sobeys grocery store, but its pretty tiny. We enjoyed the micro-est of any microbrewery I’ve ever been to in The Harbour Brewing Company in town, but spent most of our week wearing a path between Vincent’s Place and the beach. Halifax Surf School is almost next door (highly recommend), and kept all of us - including my almost-8-year-old well equipped for the week.

  • Had a great weekend. Was super clean and the host was very responsive. Great beaches in the area to explore. Would recommend.

    Sheldon2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was fantastic. The kitchen was spacious and loaded full of everything we could possibly need. The beds were comfortable, and the space was perfect for what we needed. The free wifi and netflix was a really nice added touch. It was right next to the wedding venue (memory lane heritage museum) and the breakfast from Webber’s store was delicious. I would definitely stay again, and would recommend if you’re in the area to check it out.

    Kristina2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed here and loved it. The apartment is quaint and cozy. It is great for two people. There is AC in the living room and a fan in the bedroom. The rooms were both cool and we were here during the summer. The complimentary Netflix is nice, as are all the little amenities like the washing machine, coffee maker, dishwasher etc. I loved that we were provided with extra pillows and towels. We enjoyed the space very much. It is 15 minutes from a great beach and 45 from the main city. Overall, I have only great things to say about Holly's place!

    Sarah2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great space to relax and use as a home base while exploring all the beaches. We even made a quick trip into Dartmouth and it didn’t take long at all. We appreciated all the luxuries like the deck, the laundry machines, the ice maker in the fridge, the Netflix and much more!! Check in was easy and the host was always quick and helpful with her responses. Great value as well!

"Magical place" is how many people have described my studio space on a large deck, dock in a private cove on an island with the best east coast surfing. Wake up to the changing tides, lively bird life and sounds of surf. Wood stove, loft add extra charm
This winterized studio has a wood stove and small loft for an extra person. The main space has two moveable beds to your liking so during the day as living room and night a bedroom. There is wifi and a provisional toilet at the studio warm showers and kitchen facilities are in the main house one minute away through a little magical forest. The main house is an open concept with two separate living and dining areas. The first living area in the front of the house is around the wood stove and window seat. The second living area is the large sun room off the kitchen also with a dining area. . The bathroom is on the main floor beside the laundry room ,off the kitchen. It has both tub and shower. The house has its special charm with cathedral ceilings and skylights in two different areas, natural wood and treasured eclectic collection of memories . My home is small but mighty with warmth and comfort .
AN ISLAND ... Surf , fishing village , outer islands to explore ,crows teasing the eagles, sand pipers feasting on clams at low tide. Diverse community of surfers, fishermen, artists . Experience a north east storm . Buy a lobster right off the boat. Bring your surf board, paddle board ,kayak ,use my canoe....hike the East Coast Trail. Lots of rentals for all this stuff. Beside Lawrencetown beach the main surfing beach about 8 minutes away, there are many other beautiful pristine beaches in the area and beautiful provincial parks . Full shopping services at Porters Lake about 12 minutes away . There is a wonderful country store with everything about five minutes way. Halifax ,our capital and historic city is about a forty five minute drive....lots of interesting life there too.
  • Expect outstanding hospitality and a welcoming, laid back experience at Susan’s! We had such a nice time at this ‘off the beaten path’ retreat for our first east coast trip. With a car rental, nothing seemed very far - there are local activities (surfing obvi), restaurants and some nice cafes plus an easy drive to Dartmouth and Halifax. It was really a pleasure hanging with Susan and her new kitten Anikin (best little cat, fearless, affectionate, funny). Be ready to “rough it” a little bit - but you’ll love the combination of quiet retreat + private forest studio (come and go freely) + anything extra you need (shower, coffee, fridge, tv, etc) inside Susan’s. From surfers to city girls, you’ll probably greatly enjoy this Airbnb!

  • Susan's place is great, in a fantastic location, and as described. She is always welcoming and makes her space a comfortable and easy to enjoy. I always look forward to staying at her place when I'm on the Eastern Shore. Thanks again, Susan!

  • Great location for a very affordable price. Dan was very attentive to communication, our check-in and out went really smoothly. We swam in the lake, did some BBQ and enjoyed the quietness and beauty of the place. Having coffee on the dock in the morning under the sun was amazing. It is also very close to surf sports and beautiful bike paths and it was easy to go grocery shopping relatively close by. I would highly recommend! Thanks to Dan and his family.

  • This Lakeside Paradise was truly that, a paradise. It was beautiful and quiet and just as gorgeous as the photos. The sunrises over the water were spectacular. The view was breathtaking and at night when the sky was clear we spent time on the deck gazing at the stars...never in a million years did I ever see them like that in the city. Dan was an amazing host, easy to reach and quick to respond. We loved our time here so much we will definitely return!

  • Paul's place is absolutely lovely, and with every amenity I could think of! Clean and very peaceful, with a hot tub by the water that was so wonderful and felt especially decadent in the winter temperatures. Paul went above and beyond, offering to pick up groceries for me in light of how late I would be arriving. So generous! I would be very happy to recommend Paul's to all my friends & family. The location and home are beautiful and serene. The wood stove was a lovely touch.

  • Erin's cottage is a privilege to stay in. The location is utterly spectacular, with easy access to the Halifax area and all the peace of staying in the country. The place itself is spacious and genuinely charming with a modern, cottage-y feel. Most importantly, Erin is extremely prompt and welcoming, and will very much meet your expectations.

**Note to guests: Anyone interested in staying with us for a month will receive a deep discount off the base price. We're also happy to entertain weekly discounts during the winter months; please get in touch.**
Spend the last days of fall bathed in the glow of the fire and the forest. The woodstove promises a cozy afternoon in the company of a good book and a glass of wine — while sunnier days can be spent wandering along your private saltwater lagoon or picnicking beneath the overhanging trees. A fully-stocked kitchen will provide everything you need to prepare an evening feast, while an antique queen bed, a new mattress and several quilts promise a perfect night’s sleep. Consider our property a home base for both relaxation and sight-seeing. The white sands of Rainbow Haven Beach are a 10-minute drive away and very private in the cooler months; more active guests can hike, cycle, ski or snowshoe the Salt Marsh Trail, a former railway that winds through the woods before opening up to a craggy coastline dotted with seals. Those interested in Nova Scotia's history will find plenty of it in nearby Fisherman’s Cove, a restored 200-year-old fishing village that’s now home to artisans, cafes and local tour operators. And while our cottage feels removed from the bustle of Halifax, the Woodside Ferry terminal is less than a 15-minute drive from your doorstep and will put you in the centre of the city. For those looking to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty, there are countless ways and places for you do so at our cottage. It offers solitude to the solo traveller or a romantic fall escape for couples looking to get away. We can’t wait to welcome you.
There's plenty that makes our neighbourhood unique; we've highlighted some of what's special in our summary above. But our guestbook inside the cottage will have many, many more suggestions.
  • If you are looking for a great get away, consider staying at Carmel's place. Its a good spot to spend some peaceful time without the everyday hassle. The cabin is decorated with all the necessities and furnishing of your home. It is also decorated with some unique treasures. If you love to sit by a wood stove and enjoy the relaxation with a good book and maybe a drink, this is the place for you. I highly recommend staying there. Shirley & Rick

  • This was our third or fourth time staying at Carmel's place on Nola's lane. My wife and I love this cottage: it's cute, comfortable, has everything one might need, and is very quiet. It snowed outside, we huddled under blankets by the fire. Nothing to say but great things!

Note that we use Professional cleaners and products so that when you stay with us you can rest assured the best possible stay ! This new, year-round vacation property, perched on a crescent of ocean frontage, evokes compact, yet spacious European design. The LazyTide on-site amenities include private boat launch, kayak, bicycles and BBQ. Restaurants are within easy walking distance, while white sand beaches, surfing and other charming destinations are just minutes away by car.
Encompassing the north-west cove of Petpeswick Inlet resides the LazyTide coastal property. In early 1900s LazyTide was home to a thriving clam factory. Later, in the fifties, LazyTide was transformed into the infamous LazyTide Dance Hall, as the social hub of the entire Eastern Shore. Following those rollicking times, LazyTide has remained largely fallow - until present! [Thanksgiving 2019] Welcome to LazyTide, an all-season getaway destination, two bedroom ocean front home, where rollicking times are still to be had though no dance hall bar or boot- leggers on-site! A 20-minute jaunt from Dartmouth, along Highway 107 brings you directly into the scenic village of Musquodoboit Harbour. LazyTide is a short stroll to/from the village, where more delights await: restaurants, fresh seafood dine-in/take-out, train museum, art galleries, gift shops, mouth-watering bakery/cafe with WiFi, pharmacy, bank, library, fully-equipped gym, new Tim Horton's gas/food center, as well as our very own craft brewery. Just a 10-minute drive down the coast from LazyTide is Nova Scotia's longest expanse of white-sand beach. Our Martinique Beach is also a world class surfing destination, even throughout the winter months! The scenery along the winding coastline and through rolling farmlands of the Musquodoboit River Valley are always breath-taking whether toured by car or by bike. Numerous hiking, biking and ATV trails, provincial parks and heritage sites are within the immediate surrounds as well as a nearby equestrian center offering 'English' riding opportunities. The LazyTide vacation property includes several on-site amenities: private drive-in launch for guests to bring along their boat or sea-do. A kayak and bicycle with helmet & life-jackets are there for guests to enjoy [at their own risk]. A BBQ and a large fire pit await steaks & marshmallows. The ocean-side observation deck provides panoramic harbour viewing and 'sighing into the sunsets'. A tiny crescent beach is a few meters down the cove where the harbour waters are exceptionally warm from early summer into autumn - great for swimming/snorkelling, though not in the winter! Drop a fishing line off the Petpeswick government wharf while admiring the 'real catch-of-the-day' brought in on the local fishing boats. Arrange with local seafarers for boat trips to explore the sea-coast or to fish off the shoals. It should be noted that LazyTide is not a summer cottage. It is a brand-new, all season, fully equipped residence, with air conditioning and high speed internet. The entire residence envelopes an abundance of bright natural light. Roiling sea storms only enhance the viewing pleasure. Imagine your 'get-away' Christmas or a wintertime escape tucked within the warm ambiance, full-home conveniences and affordability that LazyTide offers. Additionally, the LazyTide property will very shortly be offering guests the opportunity to bring along friends with a RV. Full electrical hook-up on two lots with scenic views can be reserved by our guests at an extra charge. Moreover, because landscaping on this new vacation property is a work-in-progress, LazyTide is presently available at a reduced offering of $150/night. Any advanced bookings at this current rate will be honoured within the calendar year.
  • Clean, stylish, and private with exquisite views. This place was wonderful. Sitting at the waterfront sipping morning coffee and watching the birds go by is completely tranquil. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need. The bed was really comfortable. Great place

  • Check in was smooth. The motel is located very close to Clam Harbour Beach. There is a restaurant in front of the motel so grabbing breakfast in the morning is easy. The room we had worked well... a double bed and two singles- perfect for us travelling with two kids that don't want to share a bed! The room was clean. We appreciated the AC and the chairs outside. We would stay again! Thanks Holly!

  • I was really impressed with this little motel. We only needed a place to sleep for one night, close to Clam Harbour Beach, and it fit the bill. Price appropriate, very typical little motel - except much cleaner. Tea, coffee, and even to go cups; very handy for a beach day. The self check in was very easy. Beautiful, peaceful countryside spot, the stars were amazing from out front.

  • The Doucette Lodge is a beautiful, scenic, well-appointed Air B&B with two bedrooms, large living room with large, wall-mounted TV and excellent WiFi, bath, and fully equipped kitchen/dining area. We arrived as planned Saturday, October 19 prepared to spend time touring Halifax. Because David was undergoing some physical distress, Host Nikki directed us to the ER at Dartmouth General Hospital a few minutes away. While he recovered from emergency surgery there (and recommends the hospital for its superb care), Nancy received terrific hospitality and support from Nikki. Upon dismissal, David returned and had the chance also to enjoy Nikki’s hospitality - which was beyond compare! We are so grateful for Nikki and Peter's help.   Anything one would need (and more) is supplied for bathroom and kitchen, and the beds are very comfortable. The website photos are as we found the place. It is as modern and charming as it looks, and the view of the lake is simply beautiful. We would return here for another trip in a heartbeat!

Cozy Lakeside Bungalow. Enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Echo while being only a short drive to the city.
Whole house is yours to enjoy plus full access to beautiful Lake Echo.
There is a small convenience store (Echo Pizza and Variety) a 5 minute walk away, just across the bridge. And a larger convenience store (On Your Way) located just as you're leaving Lake Echo towards Halifax. You can get food delivery from Crazy Weasel (902-829-2222). Our favourite place for pizza is Toulany's (902-827-4900) in Porters Lake (the next town over). They do not deliver, but are only a 5 minute drive away. During the summer, you can get great fish and chips/burgers from Gazoos (902-827-3435) in Porters Lake.

This place came very highly recommended to us by friends who had also stayed here and it did not disappoint. The space was exceptionally clean and spacious. It had absolutely everything we needed. We would tour around during the day and come back to the cottage to enjoy the lake, kayak, stand up paddle boards and amazing view in the evenings. Comfortable beds made for an excellent night sleep as well. We just wished we lived closer so that we could enjoy this wonderful spot again! Douglas was easy to communicate with and would respond to questions quickly! We can’t say enough great things about this rental!

  • Hands-down one of the best places we've ever stayed at. Would return in a heartbeat. Extremely clean, spacious, and well renovated/remodeled with everything aligned. Douglas trusted us enough to use our good judgment that no written notes were needed to tell visitors how to operate a TV or a machine. Everything simply worked. Massive beautiful calm lake in the backyard, with your own pier. Douglas kindly allowed us to use his kayak, paddleboat, lifejackets, and other related amenities that were surprisingly provided, including bug spray and sun lotion. His neighbors are also very friendly and welcoming. It was really easy to find the house from the road. The house is conveniently located about 25 mins away from downtown Halifax (with a CA $1 cash bridge toll each way), and great food establishments and stores within a 10-15 min driving distance. Even the roads between the airport and house were very smooth, clean, and well maintained, with gentle curves, rolling hills, and great views in the background. Even better when you drive during sunrise or sunset on a clear day. Douglas provided a laundry basket, an efficient washer/dryer with all the materials needed for doing laundry. There were some food items in the dry pantry, hot sauce in the fridge and essentially a fully functional kitchen. The open concept of the living room and kitchen worked well, and we were able to watch Netflix on the Roku by logging into our own account. Our group of four loved staying at Douglas' place and would happily return!

  • We were up for a family wedding and couldn’t have found a better spot for our family! The location is gorgeous, we sat in the living room each morning and enjoyed the amazing view of the lake! The house was spotless! It was so clean and tidy while still being cozy. Douglas was very quick to respond and was very accommodating to our requests. We couldn’t have been any happier with our stay!

  • Beautiful location, secluded peaceful area for people who love the outdoors! Comfortable stay. Very cozy, cute and clean! We couldn’t have picked a better Airbnb. We were looking for a laid back weekend with outdoor activities and this location did not disappoint. The hiking trails are amazing, and sunsets at the beach were wonderful. We will definitely be back again in the warmer months to enjoy more of what this beautiful area has to offer! Renee was a great host! She was available if need be and gave recommendations based on what we were looking for. Her little details did not go unnoticed.

The updated kitchen was great, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We loved all the little details, from the house plants to the fluffy towels. • The house is wonderful - right on the water, half an hour from groceries and gas, so its isolated enough without being an issue in case you have a real chocolate craving with nothing in the house. We had a dog with us who loved playing in the water, and we were able to drive half an hour to two of the most beautiful white-sand beaches I have ever been on. Its rocky in front of the house, with driftwood nearby to make a great fire in the fire pit and roast some marshmallows. The house has everything you need - plenty of dishes and pans and such. Lots of outdoor furniture to spend the day in the sun comfortably. There are two distinct living spaces, one up and one down if you need some separation. Nina and Jennifer were great with communication and even offered us a refund when Hurricane Dorian was closing in. We had to leave early because of the hurricane, but we would love to go back and enjoy the quiet and comfort of the beautiful house on the bay.

  • This is a great spot for a family and sleeps eight well. The area is beautiful and the snorkeling just 50 ft off the beach by the house was fantastic. Borgles Island was our destination for a picnic and took about 2 hours paddle by canoe. It was well worth it!
