This is a studio cabin in a very secluded setting. The cabin is adjacent to our primary residence. It is located approximately 3.5 miles from Cadillac, MI. This area has year round outdoor activities such as golfing, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing (downhill and cross-country) and snowmobiling.
The cabin can comfortably fit 2-3 people. It is a studio type setting with a (separate) bathroom, kitchenette, near full-size refrigerator and stove. We do not have good internet so we are unable to offer WiFi. There is a TV and a DVD player in the cabin. There is plenty of room to bring a snowmobile trailer onto the property and launch snowmobiles from the property. You will be less than a 1/4 mile from snowmobile trail #35.
The property is in a very quiet, wooded area with a feel of being in the middle of nowhere. In reality, we are only about 6 miles from “Cadillac West” where you’ll find a bowling alley / bar, a more up-scale restaurant (Lakeside Charlie’s), McDonalds, coffee shops and gas stations. The property is a couple miles from about 1,000 acres of Federal land and about a mile from a snowmobile trailhead.
  • The place is so wonderful we stayed again to get in another weekend of skiing and snowshoeing. I would recommend to anyone looking for a more private stay in the Cadillac area.

  • We stayed at the cabin for a quick ski trip at caberfae peaks and loved it. It’s exactly as pictured. The cabin is cozy and the hosts are very thoughtful. I would recommend.

  • Great space for a weekend getaway! Super clean and comfy and had everything we needed. It feels secluded yet is close to town and nearby activities. Would definitely recommend!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful experience. We prefer a more secluded location when visiting the area and this cabin provides that and much more. It was an easy drive to Caberfae and other Cadillac attractions. There was plenty of space and all the amenities we needed were included. We especially liked the hooks for our gear and other belongings. There was local area information on the table and a trail map on the wall. The hosts were also very quick to respond to any questions. We look forward to more trips up to Tustin!

We are a rustic campground. This unit is above our store. While here, you will have access to all the amenities that our campground guests love. We have an outdoor seasonal pool, a 9 hole putt putt course, a playground, and 19 acres of hiking trails. You could also have a site with a picnic table and fire pit with your stay.
The space is open like a studio apartment. The open area has a king size bed and a small seating area. It has two small cubby rooms with one twin bed in each.
We are in the country about 9 miles from Cadillac. We have a little campground store that is available almost anytime.
  • Shane’s place was very nice and the location was beautiful! The bed was comfortable and my stay was very peaceful. I would highly recommend choosing Shane’s place. Shane is very responsive to any questions you may have as well.

    Travis2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay here! The place was so cute and super clean when we arrived. They provided everything we needed and the some. Shane and Cindy were super friendly and made it clear that they were a phone call away if we needed anything. It was very cozy after a long day of snowboarding, and we hope to return soon and use the trails they have since we didn’t have time this trip. We highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

  • This is a great space to stay. The main room was very nice for the two of us. The snow was amazing and about 16 inches on the ground. Shane and Christy were very nice. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the area when warmer.

    Erika2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A nice small space to stay for short weekend trips. The Manistee forest is about a forty minute drive depending on which trailhead you enter in from, but a still a scenic area. The Cadillac Pathway is close by which is a great walk if you bring your pet. Cadillac is a cozy town with nice shops and couple breweries and restaurants. Gary was helpful and accommodating. Will keep this location on the list for future travels.

  • The Mackinaw Timbers Cabins sit at the edge of an expansive corn field and offers a unique tidy space in which to launch oneself into the areas activities. We enjoyed the helpful maps, guides and reference materials inside. The ambiance was Pure Michigan and a throwback to simpler times. It served our purpose perfectly!

    Jeff2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and simple place. Friendly host.

    Lexxe2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mackinaw Timbers is a nice jumping off point to explore Cadillac and the surrounding outdoor activities. The cabins are what most people would describe as "rustic", with basic amenities, and a futon to fold out and sheets you put on it yourself. We were looking for an easy spot to stay before heading out to Manistee National Forest for a few days of backpacking, so this was perfect for that. Getting to and accessing the cabins is very simple.

Completely remodeled lakefront cottage on a private all sports lake. Peaceful setting with beautiful views of the lake from multiple spots in the home. View loons, deer and bald eagles from your lakeside deck. Two queen bedrooms and one bunkroom with 4 cherry wood beds. Fully stocked kitchen and dining room. Great fishing from the dock or the rowboat. Just 10 minutes from downtown Cadillac restaurants and attractions.
Located on a private all-sports lake tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the real word. It is a quiet and peaceful respite from our everyday life. But yet you are only 10-15 minutes from amazing restaurants, bike trails and grocery stores.
  • We had a great time! The space was clean and perfect for our visit! We loved being on the lake and the beautiful views.

  • It’s a amazing place with amazing hosts

    Tony2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage had such cute beach house vibes! We loved the space as there is seating outside, a fire pit, a little boat to take on the lake, as well as cute living rooms to enjoy. It isn't too far from downtown Cadillac, which includes a variety of different places to eat that we enjoyed. We appreciated the booklet Crystal provided with different places to eat and things to do in the area.

    Hanna2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Crystal’s lake house. I don’t have one complaint about it, it was super clean, updated and fit our large family stay comfortably! It was such a great experience waking up and seeing the mist rising off the lake in the morning. Our family had so much fun canoeing, kayaking and peddle boating. At night we relaxed by the fire and roasting s’mores. We even saw a bald eagle twice! My family and myself are already planning our next stay next summer! Crystal was super helpful and ready to answer any questions and or concerns we had (which we had no concerns). It was my first time doing Airbnb and honestly she made it such a great experience!

    Jacqueline2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful lake front home was a great place for my family to get away and relax for a bit. Beautiful sunsets could be enjoyed on this peaceful lake. My husband and grandson had a great time fishing and catching blue gill, pike, perch and bass! The house was well stocked with anything we needed and the beds were amazingly comfortable! Our host was quick to respond to our inquiries and the hospitality was outstanding!

  • From the great communication with the host Brenda to the perfect location of the A-Frame, our trip was just great. The cabin is located right off the lake near multiple hiking trails and eating locations. The downtown area is a quick drive and any last minute needs can be found at the gas station a short walk away. Would highly recommend this place for any couple trying to slow down and getaway.

    Thomas2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect quaint Chalet! Very clean and a stones throw from Lake Emmit(maybe a hundred feet away and you can see it beautifully. Did fall color sightseeing, pumpkin patch, and local eateries, but chalet comes with all the amenities. Dishes, stove, refrigerator, dryer, coffee pot, utensils, towels, soap etc. Only thing I would like to see different is maybe a 3 panel privacy fence to block off backyard on the side that faces the road where gas station is. Just to have more privacy for sitting around firepit it in back. Otherwise perfect place!

Cozy, comfortable, and convenient cottage that is located on a well maintained two-lane highway. The cottage sits on a wooded acre, surrounded by fields and other wooded areas. Relax in front of the cast iron stove while watching one of the movies offered or board game after day's adventure. In the summer, swing on the front porch with a morning coffee. During the spring and fall enjoy a campfire with the wood provided. I'd be happy to research an activity that you are interested in trying!
A small cottage conveniently on M 115, providing a direct route to numerous outdoor activities and places. Cottage can accommodate two mature adults very nicely. Fully appointed kitchen with all the items you'll need to cook. A small selection of movies and games, just in case of bad weather. The walk- in shower is spacious and the water is nice and hot. Linens are provided for guest use. A great base of operations to have a good night's sleep, relax, and enjoy hot cocoa or a cold lemonade. Good alternative to a motel; cottage offers more space and privacy, as well as an affordable nightly rate. Much of the cottage has been recently renovated and new projects are planned. Duck Away offers an inexpensive place to sleep comfortably (without the hassle of hotels or rude guests), offers a little more privacy, and plenty of room to stretch. Cottage is in a rural location in a region surrounded by lakes, rivers and small towns. Use the cottage as your home base to explore. Michigan DNR has trail maps and information on events and activities for the area! Within a short 20 minute drive or less you will find numerous outdoor activities in Osceola, Wexford, and Lake Counties (view and print maps at Michigan DNR). Longer day trips are about an hour of cottage....Traverse City, Lake City, and Manistee. Lakes and rivers within several miles in all directions. There is a great little party store 1 mile down the road at the intersection of 20 mile road. We are located within a short drive of Cadillac, Lake City, Marion, Evart, and Tustin.
Cadillac is just 15 miles from cottage and offers all your shopping needs and dining options, and a little taste of nightlife with Clam Lake Bar and The Raven Brewery. There are an abundance of trails in the area. More details on these trails can be found on cadillacmichigan.com. Cadillac also has a nice path around the lake and a couple of parks. LeRoy and Tustin are access sites to ride a bike or walk the White Pine Trail that stretches from Grand Rapids to Cadillac, the area also offers ORV trailheads. There's even more....but you need to come and explore!
  • Sparkling clean awesome little cabin in the woods

  • Great place to get off the grid. We enjoyed it.

  • Second time guests here. Our stay this time was just as wonderful at the first time around and we're hoping to keep coming back. Rhonda is an amazing host. Responds quickly, provides whatever you might need, and maintains the cabin beautifully. I would recommend the duck-a-way to anyone.

    Brooke2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's cabin is adorable, well decorated, clean, and perfect for a little getaway!

    Patricia2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's provides a perfect getaway place close to many places to visit. We found the cabin clean and includes lots of extras many of us might have forgotten otherwise. She try's to get to know you to provide those extras.

    Beverly2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda’s place was great! Quiet and cozy with close proximity to local attractions. Rhonda was great! She offered advice on things to do and see in the area. Communication was phenomenal. Place was clean. I’d definitely recommend staying here

  • This cozy cabin oozes character and theme. It was clean from top to bottom, and had a gorgeous view of the surrounding forestry. It was a little bit of a quick turn in to the property the first time coming, but it was well tucked away for the perfect escape!

***Pontoon Rental Available Beginning May 15!*** Open and spacious, family-friendly house on the south side of Lake Mitchell has private frontage and a shallow, sandy bottom, perfect for all ages. Fenced yard, fire pit, and beach area are Lakeside, and a huge "back" yard is perfect for lawn games. Snowmobile trails, skiing, and public land are all nearby. A 4k TV with cable and Netflix is provided.
Lake Fun: Lake Mitchell and Cadillac provide year-round fun. Some of the best ice-fishing is right outside our house. We are about 10 - 15 minutes from Caberfae and just a few minutes from snow-mobile trails. Fall provides a beautiful view with evergreens providing a backdrop for beautiful, colorful fall foliage framing the lake. Both Fall and Spring allow for great fishing with cooler water temps. And of course, summers can't be beat. The shore is shallow, with a solid sandy bottom, allowing even small children to enjoy the lake. There is a beach area, and we provide plenty of sand toys. Paddle boards, lake toys / floats / mats are also included. There is a hammock for afternoon naps. And the fire pit is perfect for s'mores at sunset. Outside: Idlewind is the perfect family retreat. There are trees on both side for privacy, and 50 feet of sandy-bottom frontage. There are toys and games, such as corn hole, Kan Jam, and sand toys. There is a fire pit with seating. You can use the firewood stocked on the side of the house or, in the rare event I run out, more is available for sale nearby. We offer both a charcoal grill and a new wood pellet grill. In the "back yard", there is a large grassy area perfect for lawn games. You will find that there is plenty of space for your friends and family to park, play, relax, eat, and sleep. Inside: On the first floor, there are two dining areas and three separate living areas. One bedroom / living area and the main dining area overlook the lake. There is a 4K TV with cable and Netflix. Amazon Alexa is available throughout the first floor to control the lights or play music. There are instructions for everything in a welcome binder. The kitchen was updated in September 2018 and is fully stocked. It has a nice cook top and double oven. (For outdoor cooking, we use a charcoal grill - it just tastes better than gas!) You can easily make Thanksgiving dinner for a large family! There are also two portable griddles perfect for pancakes and bacon. We include coffee, creamer, sugar, a variety of tea, and hot cocoa. The refrigerator has a ton of condiments, salad dressings, jam, and maple syrup. The spice cabinet has salt, pepper, rubs, and other seasonings. Just bring your perishables! You are welcome to any other staples in the cabinets (olive oil, balsamic vinegar, oatmeal, pancake mix), but we can't guarantee there will be anything there! There are plenty of swimming and bathing towels (brand new in Sept. 2018), as well as a laundry room. The downstairs bathroom is large, and includes a tub. The upstairs has an additional door at the top of the stairs - perfect for those that want to go to bed early or sleep in while others are having fun downstairs! There is a small bathroom with a stand-up shower at the end of the hall. There are four bedrooms upstairs. The mermaid room is small, and perfect for a little girl, but we have also put our grown adult friends in there. It has a beautiful lake view! Across from the mermaid room is a good-sized room with a queen bed. This room also has extra linens in the cabinet. In one closet are a box fan, extra pillows and sheets. In the other are two twin memory foam mattresses. The twin mattresses can fit in any of the other bedrooms except the mermaid room. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the lake, and is spacious. The last bedroom upstairs has two twin beds. All bedrooms except the mermaid room have ceiling fans. Seasonal Note: The dock and boat lifts are typically removed mid-September and put in the water mid-May. With advance notice it may be possible to install or remove these sooner or later. Boat lifts are stored in the "back yard" towards the road and the dock is stacked in a corner of the fenced lake yard. We are mindful to keep these items out of the way of our guests and their view! Allergy note: Although we have our home professionally cleaned for guests, our pets do accompany us to the cottage, especially during the summer. If you have a pet allergy, please come prepared.
The south side is the place to be! We have both the sunrise and the sunset, and you can occasionally see the Northern Lights! A shallow boat launch is conveniently located next door and is great for getting your snowmobile or shanty on the water, but not so great for boats (go to the "real" boat launch a mile or so away for anything bigger than a jet ski or small fishing boat, or a pontoon with a crank down trailer). There is a business across the street that, while technically a gas and convenience store, would be more aptly termed a liquor and homemade ice-cream shop! Cadillac offers four seasons of fun! We are conveniently located about 10-15 minutes from Caberfae ski area and the Manistee National Forest. There are snow mobile trails everywhere. We are minutes from the White Pine Trail, which is great for running, biking, and snow mobiling! A fun playground and nature preserve are five minutes away. Downtown Cadillac is less than 10 minutes away by car and has fun festivals and entertainment almost every weekend in summer. You can also boat there and tie up at the public dock! Lake Mitchell connects to Lake Cadillac through a fun little canal, offering about 4,000 acres of lake altogether. There is a boat-up restaurant that is fun for kids.
  • We really enjoyed our stay. We're also automation fans so having Alexa on hand was a nice touch. We liked all the varied spaces to hang out in, and thought it was a delightfully unique home. We might come back in the summer or for ice fishing next year!

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • House has a old world charm with touches of the modern life. A lot of nice touches for travelers. All the stuff you need to enjoy the trip without the hassle of finding a store to buy life’s necessities.

  • This was a great place to stay for our three generation ski trip. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and still spend time together. The large kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies you need to prepare meals. Stephanie is generous in providing multiple kinds of coffee and tea and other kitchen basics. The beds are clean and comfortable. We only stayed for the weekend and the grandkids are already begging to come back. I highly recommend this house for your stay.

  • We loved our stay at the Blue Gill! Perfect place to spend time with family. Movie selection was fun and paddling the canoe around the channel was awesome. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you are in the area.

    Sherry2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just what we needed to come to town for my great aunts 90th birthday! Dewayne is clearly experienced and has everything in place for anybody to be able to understand and his instructions are super simple and clear. It was such a nice place and I was able to watch a few VHS tapes and reminisce.

    Tasha2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Dewayne's place as a get away for my mother's birthday. She really loved how quaint and peaceful it was. The best part was the proximity to the canal that leads to the lake for a great day kayaking. The bottle of wine was a welcoming suprise. Thank you for a great stay.

    Derrick2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dewayne's house was definetly quiet and relaxing as promised. The location was also good, only about 10 minutes from downtown Cadillac. The VHS collection was a wonderful treat, and it was lovely to take a trip down memory lane. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer on the premises. My only problem was the cleanliness. The bath tub had some hair in it and the kitchen had dirt on the floor, as well as under the furniture. However, since guests are responsible to clean up at the end of their stay, it's not Dewaynes fault. All in all it was a great stay, and I would recommend it for a low-key trip with friends or family.

    Devon2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive host and great location!

    Dawn2019-08-06T00:00:00Z

Nearly new trailer for rent in our yard just West of Cadillac. It has all of the comforts of home including queen bed, table for 4 that converts to another bed, fridge with freezer, stove, microwave, hot water heater, bathroom, shower, power awning, inside/outside stereo, heat and air-conditioning, TV. Ideal for fall color tours, weekend fishing trips, the Michigan trout opener, steelhead fishing, visiting relatives, snowmobilers, hunters, or an Up North weekend getaway. Pets are welcome
We are 20 minutes away from Caberfae Ski area, and Wexford county is home to 1000's of acres of state and federal lands. Cadillac is one of only 7 cities in the US that has a lake completely within its city limits. Our place is just minutes to downtown Cadillac, but is completely quiet and private, and is on a paved road. Your pets are welcome--we have a chain link kennel and a large fenced area in the back yard. Cadillac is home to several bass fishing tournaments every year, and there is plenty of room for your boat in the yard and we are literally second away from a public launch onto Lake Mitchell. We also have an excellent Craft Beer Fest about the third weekend in September, and of course music lovers will be excited to see an upcoming show, as the Gopherwood Concert series will be starting it's 36th year on October 5, with the folk duo Escaping Pavement, and Luke Winslow King will follow on October26 with a house concert here.
We have a neighbor on the opposite side of the yard from the camper, but they are about 300 yards away. There were large numbers of deer both behind the house tonight, and across the street
  • Cozy camper, perfect for one or two. Nancy made me feel welcome with flowers, water and fresh apples, and half & half in the fridge for my morning coffee. She had the camper ready for me with the heat and lights on since I was arriving after dark. There were thorough instructions for operating everything in the camper. The bed is super comfortable, and the area is dark and quiet for restful sleeping. I was only there for an overnight and had to leave early in the AM, so regretfully I didn’t have time to enjoy the yard or view, but it didn’t look like there were any closeby neighbors, and the area is beautiful farm land and woodland.

    Molly2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very secluded and cozy- Nancy is very accommodating!

    Diana2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great access to so many areas. The Lakes are all close by as is the downtown area. you can also shoot up further north if you want to explore the sand dunes at Empire. or the Traverse city area too. Little kitchenette will come in handy. Has fridge too. Beds are comfortable. The land that surrounds the RV is lovely and Nancy is very accommodating. Let us use her relaxing yard. Very nicely done.

    Luis2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a great host. She was so thoughtful as my son forgot his uniform for the competition he was in and we had to turn around to go back home and and get uniform. So we arrived much later than we had anticipated. Nancy had made up the bed for my son, had a small bouquet of flowers on the counter and instructions how to use things left out for us. She also made sure the grill had a fresh propane tank in it so we could grill out one evening. Highly recommend.

    Carlene2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's RV was a fun twist to staying in an Airbnb. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay, as well as meeting our hosts. The RV was new, super cute, and had all we needed for our evening stay.

    Susie2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy responded quickly to any communication with her. I actually had to cancel my booking with her before I had got to see her place due to other people that we were traveling with cancelling their trip. We had a nice time in the traverse city area anyways and regret not making it down to Cadillac. Maybe next trip.

    Dawn2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was so responsive, kind and thoughtful. I stayed here for 3 weeks while waiting to close on a house. It was such a nice little home away from home. Great little camper, perfect for my needs. Would definitely stay again!

Nice fire pit and beautiful scenery to enjoy! The breakfast foods they provide for your first morning was a great bonus! We loved that we could bike from our cabin to the bike trail. Tustin’s town has a great ice cream store and restaurant too.

    Sue2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This lodge is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Very quiet but easy access to the main road. We used it for a group golf outing for 10 people and it worked out great as it is 15 minute drive or less to several golf courses and local bars/restaurants in the immediate area as well as Cadillac. The host Dennis communicated very quickly in advance and while we were there. We did not have any problems and Dennis stopped by briefly after we arrived to ensure everything was OK. Beautiful views off the back of the lodge and the two decks overlooking the woods. We all felt it was an excellent value for the price paid and we would recommend it to others. There isn't a whole lot in Tustin but we did find a nice restaurant just down the road (Mineral Springs) that had great burgers and pizza. Tustin has a small grocery and dollar store so no problem picking up a few items if needed.

  • The log cabin is a beautiful place to stay! It’s comfortable and spacious, built of beautiful wood with thoughtful interior decorations throughout. The setting is quiet and peaceful in the woods. There is a very well equipped kitchen. I stayed there with my large family and everyone really enjoyed it! Highly recommended!

  • Amanda's place was a great place to stay if you are looking for a spacious home relatively close to Caberfae Ski Resort. It was plenty big enough for two families of five. We spent most of our time skiing, but we enjoyed coming back to the house after a long day of skiing and camping out by the fire. We cooked dinner and then did puzzles, played games, had contests on the Wii, etc.

  • Amanda was a great hostess! She communicated often and did a great job of answering any questions I had. The place was really nice, and we hope to stay again in the future!

  • This really is an outstanding property. It’s much more than we expected. The space for the group of people we had was more than enough. The boat launch/lake access is only a couple doors down which made our ice fishing trip that much more enjoyable. Amanda is an incredible host that will answer questions immediately and stay in contact during the stay. I can’t wait to plan a trip back during the summer months. I highly recommend this property for a nice, carefree, relaxing getaway.

  • Relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful views. The spacious layout of the house made it easy for us to be together. Well equipped kitchen. Handy having Thirstys across the street.

The boathouse was completely renovated in the summer of 2018. It sleeps 2-4 people, has a spacious new bathroom, full kitchen and both a screened in porch and an elevated roof top deck to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets. It is directly on the water and has plenty of parking. It is for rent in addition to our main vacation home (Lake Mitchell Retreat) at a discounted price (message me for details) or as a stand-alone rental. We close it from Nov 1 until May 1 each year.
Guests have access to the entire property when rented in addition to the main house. When rented separately you will have access to the backyard, waterfront, fire pit, dock, paddle boards and peddle boat, rooftop deck and screened in porch that is under the boathouse but all outdoor space will be shared with who ever is renting the main house or with our family when we are in residence. Please note there are steps both inside and to get to the outdoor space.
On the shores of Lake Mitchell the Boathouse is close to Cadillac West and just minutes from Caberfae Ski Resort, Lake Cadillac, downtown Cadillac, several golf courses, great restaurants and hiking trails.
  • The boathouse is incredible. It was a perfect getaway right on the lake. The space was beautiful and had everything you would need for a lakeside vacation. We would highly recommend it.

  • The boathouse is a great getaway spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Loved the porch and the fire pit! Amanda and Adam were wonderful hosts, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful. I would stay here again!

  • The boat-house is on a beautiful Lake Mitchell and has wonderful 180 degree views. We loved the scenery and enjoyed our stay very much.

  • She truly puts a spark in your day. The whole family reminds you of how great families can be.

    Teckla2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time on the lake. Each day our grandchildren came and enjoyed a delightful water fun time! We had plenty of space for Dining outside, s’more building and just relaxing fun. We walked to get ice cream from Thirsty’s, relaxed in the sun, and delighted in the beautiful sunsets we were provided.

    Suzanne2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The boat house is just so amazing. It is a little piece of heaven to look out the loft window and just see water, to listen to the lapping of the waves as you fall asleep, to watch sun sets from either of the porches while playing scrabble and drinking a Michigan beer. Amanda and her family treat you like family. Bed is comfy but firm. The renovations and colors are so tasteful. We loved everything.

    Susan2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s Place is a small boathouse located on Lake Mitchell with a great view of sunrises, sunsets, and the beautiful lake. My wife and I brought our kayaks and loved utilizing the lake and the boathouse to have a fun but relaxing experience. Amanda is a fabulous host and we would highly recommend Amanda’s Place to anyone or any couple looking for a great place to getaway!

    Ryan2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is small, but so cozy. Perfect for two! It’s decorated very tastefully, definitely feels like a little cabin/boat house. The lake equipment provided was great (paddle boards, life jackets, pedal boat, etc.). We went paddle boarding most mornings and evenings and the dock was fun to sit out on and watch the boats and the sunrises/sunsets. Even though the property is shared with a larger house, the boat house felt very private. We actually enjoyed talking to and socializing with the other guests. It was nice coming back each day from our activities and having a comfortable place to relax and sleep. Great place to stay!

Newly-constructed log cabin on just under 3 acres. Located on a seasonal road with very few homes and lots of open land with mature hardwoods. The cabin gives you a truly off-the-grid experience without electricity or running water and featuring a wood stove for heat. Get out of the city and take time to recharge and reconnect. The cabin has a large loft which is furnished with 2 twin beds and 2 full beds. The main area is an open space with a kitchen area and living space.
The cabin is small and geared toward adventurers and those seeking a back-to-nature experience. If you cannot survive without your hairdryer, this is not the place for you :-) That being said, the cabin is newly-constructed and very comfortable, a great place to unplug and enjoy life at a slower pace. Sleeping: There are 2 twin and 2 full beds in the loft of the cabin and the sectional does pull out as well. No linens or blankets are provided. Bring your sleeping bags and pillow. Cooking: A cast iron set can be used for indoor/outdoor cooking. You can cook on top of wood stove or outdoors over fire. There is also a 2-burner propane camping stove for your use if desired - bring Colman mini propane tank with you. Basic cooking utensils provided, dishes are not available.
The cabin is on a seasonal dirt road with very few houses. Our property lines are clearly marked and guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the 3 acres and hike up and down the road but be warned not to cross onto neighboring property-owners' land.
  • As described. We had a great time!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin, peace and quiet!

    Drew2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a quiet rustic get away this is it, beautifully crafted log cabin that feels cozy. We went during a snowfall so all you could hear was that, was almost something out of a movie. There is some stuff that is left over from other stays but make sure to bring some water and propane! 10/10 would experience again.

    Josie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time, cabin was clean and exactly as expected. Plenty of wood and supplies were there making the stay very comfortable, even in the winter.

  • Great area way out in the woods. Wood stove makes the place feel very cozy

    Chris2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a good way to get out in the woods!

    Andrew2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect location for a weekend getaway. The wind in the trees sounded like waves, and we really enjoyed the quiet with no distractions. Even when a thunderstorm rolled in this morning, it was so peaceful. My husband and I slept on the pullout couch, which was relatively comfortable. There was plenty of propane, bottled water, and kitchen supplies left by previous visitors. The outhouse had toilet paper (we brought some just in case) and was clean. You can’t see the house from the road when there are leaves on the trees FYI, but they gave a Google pin and good directions.

    Emily2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice little cabin. Great for those that want a get away. I would recommend checking out the place before stocking up on to many supplies. Guests are encouraged to leave things for others passing through so you may not need as much as you think.

This home is just a block away from Lake Cadillac and is situated in a quiet residential area. The surrounding area is a wonderful combination of lakes, northern Michigan woods, nearby rivers, along with great restaurants and shopping. This is a very spacious, comfortable home with all of the amenities, including a third bedroom that acts as an office area. The neighborhood is very quiet with full time residential owners. Please keep this in mind, as the property butts up to two other backyards.

1940's Fish House completely renovated in 2018 on a beautiful 126 ft. piece of Lake Mitchell shoreline. Classic wood beams, stone fireplace, updated with granite countertops, farmhouse sink, and new bathroom/shower. New deck across the front and a long dock and outdoor swings for relaxation. Adirondack chairs around a firepit, and tall, tall Northern White Pine trees to gaze up to. This is the epitome of peace and tranquility. But bear in mind your only AC is from the lake breezes! ;-)
All new comfortable Pottery Barn furnishings and decor. Fully equipped kitchen with Fiesta dinnerware. New gas stove and appliances, washer dryer. Open floor plan with queen sized bedroom with views overlooking the lake in the distance. Bunk room for overflow, but this is really perfect for just one couple :-) New well drilled in 2018, safe drinking water, but the water is discolored from the cedar tress all along the shore in this area. This is not a Ritz Carlton, but it is a wonderful nostalgic step back in time in a beautiful one of a kind setting!
Typical "up north" cottagey neighborhood. The cottage sits off West Lake Mitchell Drive, on Paul Bunyan Drive, which hugs the lake along with other summer cottages. Large yard, picnic table, deck and outdoor gas grill.

  • Farmhouse layout -large rooms that are perfect for bigger families or groups of friends. Everything was VERY clean! I am sensitive to scents, but the air fresheners placed around the house (in the sockets) were very pleasant. The upstairs bathroom is huge - and I noticed there was a baby bathtub available if needed. Many updates to the old house have been done - floors, carpeting, upstairs bathroom, windows on the first floor, trim, paint - and still preserving the farmhouse charm! New appliances in the kitchen and many small appliances (coffee maker, crockpot, food processor, etc) help with meal prep and cleanup! The beds are all very comfortable, and the sectional in the living room is so comfy several of us fell asleep on it after a day skiing at Caberfae. Highly recommended!

  • This is a spacious home, perfect for a family, and is very clean. The hospitable touches make it seem as though you’re arriving at a resort, but with all the comforts of home. My family and I would definitely return!

  • Good location and nice view of lake

    David2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing, beautiful views and the lake was absolutely beautiful. Swimming in it was a bit cold but locals said the lake is usually on the colder side. But you adjust quickly once in we had a blast for a girls get away weekend. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. Perfect for a nice lake retreat.

  • Nancy was very quick to respond to our questions. Our kids enjoyed the bikes and fishing off of the dock. My 91 year old father enjoyed showing the grandkids tricks on the pool table. We also enjoyed talking to the nice neighbor Mr Schmitt.

  • Very spacious and you really don't need to bring anything! The lake is just a couple steps away and the fire pit was good for our use. I highly recommend this house.

  • Awesome place to stay at, the pictures don't do it justice! Right on the lake, and plenty of amenities

    Evan2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Overall lovely stay. We stayed during a polar vortex and were kept quite warm. I imagine the place is quite incredible in the summer being right on the water! Plenty of blankets and whatnot and Internet was stable (huge plus as cell coverage for Verizon was hit and miss). pool table in the garage was neat and there was plenty of space to store skis/snowboards in the garage. Plenty of space to store bikes or any other gear as well. Water tastes fine but has a slight sulphate smell to it. Not bad when cold but bathing can get the air a bit eggy. Not a big deal if you’re used to it or expecting it but was a bit of a new experience for some travelers. Knowing that ahead of time there’s nothing to worry about. Overall spacious but cozy. I would consider staying again on my next trip up. Oh and place is very clean for the most part. A few trash cans still were full but not with anything gross. Otherwise bathrooms were very clean. Be warned there is no lock or door really for the... pantry bathroom? It’s in the kitchen and has swinging pantry doors. Kinda odd but was clean. As long as the room isn’t full of people it’s not awkward haha! Upstairs has locking door with shower. House smells of pine and I assume that’s from the walls. Beautiful smell I hope it lasts for the next time!

Glamping: this is the place for someone who wants to go camping without roughing it. Queen size bed, hot shower, stove, refrigerator, electrical outlets and privacy to enjoy the great outdoors. Relax around fire pit and don't be surprised if a deer wanders in. This is the spot where we take our grandchildren camping because we want to enjoy being outdoors but want comfort while being close to all that Cadillac has to offer. Local lakes nearby, close to bike and orv trails.
While the site is private you are only minutes away from Cadillac. The wall tent is 16x20 with a plywood floor with throw rugs. It has both a front and back covered porch to allow you to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. If it is cool at night there is a propane radiant heater in the tent. The back porch overlooks a deep valley that often serves as a pathway for deer and wild turkeys. The utility area is 15 feet from the tent and contains both a kitchen and bathroom. There is an instant on water heater so you have plenty of hot water. The antique stove is beautiful as well as functional and you have a full refrigerator. Just outside you will find a large grill. If the chickens cooperate you will have some fresh eggs available for breakfast. There is a large fire pit for your pleasure. We provide fire starters and an ample supply of firewood.
  • Love this place so much! This was my second time staying here and planning to visit again in the future. Even though it was cold there was plenty of firewood provided along with a propane heater and enough propane to get us through three nights. Lots of cozy blankets too (: The grounds were so beautiful in all the fall colors and the cows came to visit us every day. Can’t wait to stay here again next year!

    Megan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was absolutely amazing! The heater helped cut the chill after some rainy nights, and the area was gorgeous and so fun to explore! The shower was a dream on the cold and rainy days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make our own meals, and the fire pit and grill gave us plenty of options. Lots of wildlife to watch and listen to, as well as friendly cows that would wander close to the campsite. Being so close to the woods, bugs and spiders were definitely a thing, but no more so than any regular camping trip - overall an excellent stay.

  • If you want a camping experience without the small sleeping space and sleeping bag, this is the place to go. Everything was beyond expectations. The decor is amazing as well.

    Ashley2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is highly recommended. This place has the camping experience together with the comfort of staying on a cabin or house. Located in a very quiet place but also close to the main highways so you can go anywhere around the area.

  • We had such an amazing getaway here. What a beautiful place to unplug, relax, unwind, and enjoy the simplicity of life with our group of friends. Everything about this space is so dreamy. Thankful for the laughs and memories made, we will definitely be making this an annual trip moving forward. If you enjoy nature this land offers so much, and it’s about 30 minutes to the Manistee River Trails.

  • Charming old school up north cabin. Small but sparkling clean and decorated really well in classic up north style. Check in was easy. Sheets were soft and smelled nice, and there was a fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee maker. A more unique stay than a hotel. Full of charm. There is a busy road near by but running the fan covered it up.

  • It was my first time up in Cadillac and my first time visiting the area for a fall color tour. I had a great time! The cabins were easy to find, even when we arrived at night. We had no trouble using the keypad on the cabin door and getting in. The cabin is super cozy and clean, with reliable wi-fi, hot water, and heat. We were impressed and had no issue with the facility! It was just two of us this time, but we are already discussing coming back with some more friends and renting a few cabins and make use of the bonfire in the future!

  • I brought a group of Amish folks to visit from Pennsylvania. Mackinaw Timbers was perfect for me. It's cozy and rustic, quiet and comfortable, and was WARM on a mighty cold and windy day. The great rate sealed the deal. A late-night plumbing issue was handled quickly and thoroughly. I highly recommend, and will stay there every time I get to the area.
