A spacious, open-plan, self-contained, self-catering studio apartment in a beautiful country church conversion, tucked away in a quiet, rural setting just 8 miles south of the World Heritage city of Bath. It's a perfect romantic getaway for a couple, or a relaxing space for up to four good friends/family. A unique and peaceful place to stay, and a great base for exploring the beautiful Somerset countryside and the South West.
The Studio is in one half of a Grade II listed former Victorian church, once a photographic studio, and now artfully transformed into a large and modern, open plan apartment which sleeps 2-4 people. It's quiet and spacious, a perfect space to relax, with everything you need for a comfortable weekend or longer stay. Even though the building is 170 years old, the conversion gives it a light and airy, modern feel whilst retaining some features of the original church. The space was for many years used as a photographic studio where the owners worked together to create images for magazine features, books and advertising. There's a comfortable king-sized bed, plus a double futon which can sleep up to two extra guests, but please note that these are both in the same space so you need to know each other well! You also have your own separate shower room. There's a Smart tv/DVD player/Netflix/Freeview, free wi-fi, plus a selection of books, DVDs, games and local maps. The kitchen is very well-equipped, with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, double oven and microwave, and a comfortable dining area. We will welcome you with some basic provisions, including butter, eggs, milk, fruit juice and fresh bread, cake or cookies. Underfloor heating will keep your toes warm, and for more chilly days the wood burner stove makes the apartment extra cosy. Outside is your own secluded, south-facing patio and pretty little country garden for you to enjoy the birdsong and sunshine. We're in a peaceful, semi-rural location just 8 miles south of the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath, and it's a great base for exploring the area. Other distances: Priston Mill 4 miles University of Bath, Claverton 9 miles Frome 9 miles Wells 13 miles Longleat 13 miles Bath & West Showground 13 miles Bristol Airport 15 miles Bruton 17 miles Cheddar 17 miles Stourhead 18 miles Glastonbury 18 miles A visit to the Bath Christmas Market is not to be missed (late November - early December) and after a busy day's festive shopping the studio is a peaceful haven to come home to! There's a useful information pack in the studio with helpful tips on things to do in the area, including a list of local shops, farm shops and markets, plus details of restaurants and good food pubs if you prefer to eat out.
The church is on the edge of the small village of Clandown, a former coal-mining community, lying 8 miles south of the Roman city of Bath in North East Somerset, just off the Fosseway and close to the Mendip Hills. It's a quiet and friendly place, with a local shop and community pub. We are in a quiet lane which is a no-through road with very little traffic, so it's peaceful and quiet. If you're interested in the history of the former Somerset coalfield, the award-winning Radstock Museum is well worth a visit, just a mile from the Studio.
  • This place is not to be missed and Christine is a wonderful host! Perfect little getaway and easy drive to lots of interesting sites, walks and places for adventures. We loved the log fire especially and Christine provided lovely homemade marmalade and breakfast treats.

  • If you are planning to have a vacation in Bath and looking for a place nearby to stay, I would highly recommend this place. It is a very special place (awesome lighting, games and books, nice beautiful garden, etc). Icing in the cake is that host is super good always trying to make you feel comfortable and have a good vacation. We are so happy to have selected this place for our vacation.

  • Our time at the church was been a dream, the spacious is gorgeous, with good decoration and astonishing windows from the church gives to the space a really comfortable ambience. The first time we came in we were absolutely amazed, the owners were lovely and made us feel in our own home. We were really happy. The location has good connections for little adventures during the day to the sea side such as Durdle Door; lovely towns such as Glastonbury, Bath, and Wells to visit and lots of supermarkets to get all you need. It was then lovely to cook a great meal in the wonderful kitchen before curling up in from of the fire to watch Netflix and drink a bottle of wine.

    Gordon2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was very spacious and clean. The studio was equipped with everything you could possible need, plus more! It was very quirky being in an old Church. Good location with a 20 min drive into Bath city centre. The host was very accommodating and replied very quickly with all recommendations that we asked for. The studio had lovely finishing touches, including fresh bread and mince pies when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this studio.

The Hole in the Wall is part of a Grade 2 listed building, the owners occupy the main house and the refurbished cottage (which is separate) is at the rear, it is 20 - 30 mins from Bath, Wells, Longleat, Glastonbury & Cheddar. On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen diner, on the first floor there is a large lounge with sofas at one end and a double bed room area at the other end. There is also a separate bedroom with twin beds, there is a comfy foldaway bed for a 5th guest.
The Hole in the Wall was originally a public house and the cottage was the brewery. After being derelict for several years it was completely renovated to a very high standard in 2016. The main lounge had many original Victorian features including a marble fireplace and original ceiling rose.
  • A great friends catch-up weekend in this beautiful property. Wonderfully clean and comfortable and 2 mins from some lovely pubs with friendly locals. Highly recommended. Thanks Emma.

    Olivia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely two days at Glen and Kirsty's place. It is a sparkling clean, fully-equipped annexe in the garden of their home, in quiet countryside only a short drive from Bath. What was even nicer were the hospitable touches - the food left for breakfast, warm welcome, and heater turned on for our return when we were late back one evening. We only wish that we could have stayed longer!

Only 10 min drive from the Odd Down Park & Ride on outskirts of Bath (10 min ride into Bath). Frome (9 miles), Shepton Mallet (10 miles), Wells (13 miles) , Wookey Hole (15 miles), Bristol (15 miles), Longleat (15 miles), Glastonbury (18 miles), Cheddar (19 miles), Stone Henge (33 miles) - not all of them accessible by public transport. Unfortunately, there is no local village pub – but the nearest pub is only a short taxi drive away in Tunley (King William) – this is a great place for food but you would be well-advised to book in advance as they are often busy! Farm shop with cosy café is only a 2 minute drive away
  • Had a great time staying here for New year's eve. Chris came and greeted us upon arrival and was very helpful. The place is clean, stylish and very cosy! Bed was extremely comfortable and we fell asleep before new year's began! 😂 Would definitely recommend for a quiet trip away or a great spot for exploring the local area

  • Thank you so much for the great stay, we absolutely loved the room and the location was gorgeous, being so close to Bath was perfect and made our weekend so amazing!! Had everything we could have possibly needed (even in the kitchen where there was a little oven in the cupboard and lovely little shampoos and conditioners!) - just perfect and we would love to return! Thanks again!!

    Grace2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The annexe was spotlessly clean, Chris & Alison were so so lovely and answered all of my questions in the run-up to the stay incredibly quickly. The annexe is stylish, modern, and absolutely stunning - the location is amazing and so close to the Odd Down Park and Ride if you’re heading towards Bath like we were. Bristol isn’t far away either. If we’re ever looking to go towards Bath/Bristol again, we’d definitely stay in the annexe!

  • Very friendly hosts who communicated really well throughout. Will definitely be using again

  • We stayed at Alison and Chris’s annexe last weekend and would definitely recommend. It’s in a peaceful setting and not too far from the city centre either. Their place is perfect for a remote cosy stay with nothing too far away. Alison, Chris and Tilly were amazing hosts with nothing too much of a problem and even took us into town on the Saturday night. A lovely family and great hosts, would stay again!

  • Well thought out accomodation in a beautiful setting. Accurate and up to date communication received from the hosts. Definitely recommend this as a place to stay when visiting Bath.

  • Great stay in the garden room. Everything was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Tony and Jane provided some breakfast items too which was very thoughtful. The garden is beautiful and in a very peaceful area.

  • Lovely place and located a short drive from Bath. Easy to find and you won’t be disappointed. Would definitely recommend.

  • Really nice, clean and quiet tiny house close to Bath. The Garden Room has everything that is necessary including a really nice and beautiful kitchen. It was very clean and Tony and Jane were really helpful and answered to question within minutes. Thank you for the weekend, we would come back in case we are in Bath again.

    Linda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay! Lots of extra touches to make the stay special and a great location.

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely spot. It feels secluded and yet an easy walk into the village with various places to eat and shop. The room was lovely and a perfect size for two! It was lovely and warm despite the storm outside. There is a perfectly sized little kitchen with microwave, fridge and hot plate. We would highly recommend!

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Room, it was perfect for our needs and had everything we needed. Everything was nice and clean, in good condition and well maintained and the special little touches and extras were much appreciated, especially the welcome pack which included milk, bread, ceraals, and even a little pot of ground coffee! The WIFI worked well too! The Garden Room is in a great location and made travelling into Bath very easy. We took the bus in everyday, which meant we could have a few drinks and not worry about driving, the buses are pretty frequent (four an hour) and it only cost us £7 each for a return ticket each day. Which isn't much more than the park and ride and much less hassle, you still have to drive! There are also a couple of small supermarkets and some take-away places in Peasedown St John, so you can always pick up any provisions you need without travelling too far if yiou fancy a lazy day. Tony and Jane made us very welcome when we arrived and their communication before and during our stay was good, quick responses, polite and very helpful. We'd definitely recommend the Garden Room to others. John and Jan

  • Pasana is very nice person. She prepared a traditional Thai style breakfast for us. Thank them very much.

  • Fantastic home and Pasana is a great guest. We had two nights stay wi the her as we were meeting friends for a party in the area and the location was perfect for where we needed to be. Very clean, lists of amenities that we would never have expected like chocolates and biscuits to go with the good selection of teas and coffee in the room. She also provided toothpaste. The beds had electric blankets which was lovely as we found the weather rather chilly ( there is also central heating in the room). Breakfast was amazing, no o her word for it. Arguably the best breakfast we’ve ever had in a B&B. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

    Stephen2019-10-27T00:00:00Z

    Buccella2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Trudy's cottage was exactly what we expected, small stonework building in a quiet village. Suitable for a couple, but not anything more. Parking was not the easiest, but we were aware of this from the start and Trudy did recommend a street to try. The kitchen was very well equipped and allowed us to cook our own meals when we wanted. Everything was clean and arranged to make a good use of space. The linen and towels were of a high quality, which has not been the case in some places I have stayed from airbnb, and it's clear that Trudy has put effort into this letting.

  • Angie and Robin were very welcoming with everything. The room was perfect and came with a lovely little kitchen and bathroom and we had our own key and entrance. We were supplied with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and even pan au chocolate, bread and jams for breakfast which was a really nice touch. Robin also provided transfers to and from bath for a reasonable price. Overall it was a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend to anyone.

  • Nice and quiet location, not too far from Bath. Expect to pay out in cabs for the distance though. One way, £30. Uber back to the property was cheaper but no ubers exist in Radstock. Accommodation nice and hosts friendly. Great views and perfect if you want to get away from the 21st century of internet, busy streets and technology. Walks in the areas recommended, it's such a lovely area to down time in.

  • Teresa's place was absolutely stunning and I would recommend it in a heart beat. Teresa was on hand to help with all the small bits along the way and the little chocolates, rose on the table were a really nice touch for out romantic getaway. This place is perfect if you want to have a quiet weekend as you have everything you need in the house including a continental breakfast bar. Although we couldn't get out much because of the rain we'll definetely be back during the summer to explore the local area more! 10/10!

  • Teresa and Mark were amazing hosts. Their space was perfect for our little holiday, and would happily come again. We were able to enjoy our days out and come back to a beautiful home, we really felt cosy and safe which was what we needed after a long journey. Would happily recommend this Space to anyone who wants to feel at home away from home! :)

  • Teresa and her husband were wonderful hosts, so friendly and accommodating. The communication before our stay was great so we felt very comfortable knowing how to get there and where to park. The apartment was even better than we expected, perfect for couples of any age. Everything that we could need was included and everything was so neatly placed and tidy, we really appreciated the effort that they had gone to with all the extra touches. They very kindly provided a very yummy complimentary breakfast which was amazing! There was lots of really handy info about the local area which if you don't already have things planned, there's plenty to try out. If you're planning on staying here to visit Bath (which we were) the drive into the city centre was quick and easy but parking is impossible if you're visiting at Christmas time so the park and ride is your best bet. Teresa and her husband did inform us of this beforehand so definitely take their advice, they're the experts! Bath and Timsbury are beautiful and so is The Cobblers! Waking up to a morning coffee and looking out over the private terrace was lovely! We couldn't have been comfier with the heating, interior (which is beautifully styled) and a great bed. A perfect place to get away, we couldn't have loved it more and will definitely be visiting again and recommending to everyone! ❤️🎄

This self-contained studio suite is attached to our house in a small hamlet 6 miles from the World Heritage City of Bath. It offers a peaceful rural setting plus easy city access. We are surrounded by countryside, with lots of walks. The popular cycle track (Sustrans Route 24) is 3 miles away. There’s a great pub/restaurant a mile away (King William at Tunley), but be warned, the first half mile is downhill but the second steeply uphill!. Uphill in the other direction are the nearest shops.
The Piggery is a self-contained annex with a private entrance porch. The hallway contains a wardrobe and leads to the shower room and the main studio. The shower room has a basin, toilet and large walk-in shower. The main studio measures 5.9m x 3.6m. At one end is the well-equipped kitchen area, with a fridge-freezer, sink, combination microwave, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and a small hob. A welcome breakfast pack is provided as well as cooking basics. At the other end, the double bed is near a window looking out onto a sunny garden. You will also find a small dining table, a large sofa and a TV. Just outside the porch is a table for two next to your car parking space. Free wifi is provided, but don’t expect high speeds! There is space for a travel cot, but we don’t provide one. We welcome dogs but ask that they don’t get on the furniture.
Wedding venues Priston Mill (3miles) and Orchardleigh House (10miles) are accessible by car or taxi. As well as easy access to Bath via the Park and Ride, we are in reach of Wells with its Cathedral and market and also the picturesque historic towns of Bradford on Avon and Frome. Longleat is 17 miles away for a longer day out.
  • Comfortable and well-appointed accommodation ideal for two people and, in our case, a dog.

  • Aisha house is absolutely beautiful inside and out, we had such a wonderful stay.

    Tina2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time in this little home. Although I had initially planned to use the weekend to make the most of the countryside and explore, stormy weather prevented me and my partner from being able to leave the house. However the cosiness, cleanliness and overall feel of the property meant that I did not feel the weekend was wasted, on the contrary. I recommend this home and Aisha as a splendid host to any considering paying a visit!

    Dotahn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully furnished and maintained to an excellent standard. The whole place had a feel of luxury and indulgence, which is exactly what was needed on our weekend away.

  • Had a lovely break with the family. The garden is child-friendly with plenty of space to run about. The bathroom is luxurious and the cottage had everything we needed. An ideal base to visit Bath and Longleat. Our hosts left us to enjoy our holiday in peace, however they were prompt to respond and someone came to the property within minutes when contacted.

The cottage is in a very quiet location, has nice country air and within an easy drive/ bus ride from the centre of Bath. The house is simple and modernised, with oil paintings and watercolour artwork on the walls. It has a small but comfortable kitchen and beautiful views.
My cottage has a very peaceful energy because it is a contemplative space where creative ideas are conceived and paintings are created. The beautiful nature that surrounds it and the view of fields with horses from the Master bedroom and the living room is what makes it extra special and joyful place to enjoy. Decor is very simple and little kitchen is well- equipped and nicely done up. There are beautiful walks around Carlingcott and apart from being close to Bath and all it’s attractions we are also within short driving distance to Mells, Frome, Wells and Cheddar Gorge, East Woodlands and other beautiful historic places.
Within a short walk there is a beautiful village of Carlincott. Nice walks around us. Another lovely village Wellow is just 7 minutes drive away and has a horse riding centre
  • Maria is a great host , house is perfect to explore Bath x

    Tess2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights at Maria's place as part of a longer trip. We really liked the cottage, it's warm and cosy and the layout is great for a family - having more than one bathroom is a real time saver in the mornings! The location was very pleasant and a good base to explore Bath and the surrounding area. The welcoming touches (fruit, bread, breakfast supplies) were much appreciated after a long drive in dark stormy weather and the bed in the master bedroom was incredibly comfortable. Communication with Maria was great both before and during our stay. We would certainly stay again if we're in the area!

    Steven2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, cosy house in an excellent location for exploring Bath and Somerset

    Amanda2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A charming, relaxing, comfortable and well appointed property. The host was very informative and left us some nice touches upon our arrival.

  • Maria is a generous, welcoming host. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home Maria. We love your beautiful paintings.

    Daniella2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We needed a place to stay for a weekend birthday celebration as a family of five adults, and Maria's lovely place in the Bath countryside was perfect. Though we sadly didn't get there in time to meet the host ourselves, our mums did (!), and they assured us she was every bit as pleasant as her communications had been. The key-lock system was very useful for check-out, and the house itself was charmingly characterful – with Maria's own paintings to boot. Our host even thoughtfully left bread and eggs for our breakfasts, on top of the generous tea, coffee and various spreads. The surroundings are just as lovely, with gorgeous views of the rolling hills. It was so quick and easy to get into central Bath with the park & ride, too. We also heartily recommend Castello, a brilliant Italian restaurant in the village of Radstock only a few minutes' drive away.

    Polis & Chris2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We hired the whole house which was ideal for a family stay. Comfortable, warm house, good value, with lots of art on the walls.

My master bedroom and living room have amazing views of the field with horses. It is a cosy house, with two rooms that I let and I stay in the third.
It is very much a countryside terrace, the house dates back to 1900s and we have families, artists and dog lovers around. Also people who like country walks. It is a quiet neighbourhood.

  • “It was a dark and stormy night”... we felt embarrassed that we had to finally call the owner about the front door. True to her advice and warning, the door expands and sticks in wet weather (and it’s been raining for weeks here apparently)! The front door key is a skeleton type and thankfully we finally got it open, so don’t give up! The 1840’s cottage is quaint and cozy. It was perfectly fine for my adult son and me and although the kitchen area is very small we weren’t staying but 2 nights and didn’t need anymore than what was provided. There are 2 small markets just a few steps away for the necessities. I chose this cottage also because it is a 5-10 minutes drive to the Park and Ride bus in to Bath. This was a great choice because traffic is heavy and parking is difficult.

    Dawn2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a few days away visiting Bath. Great location so that you’re close enough for the park and ride into Bath but can come ‘home’ at night. Great shops literally over the road too, so no need to plan food! The cottage itself is lovely and perfect for 4. Warms up really quickly and the beds are comfy. Also the shower is hot and powerful - a must for us!! Overall a lovely stay, much better than staying at a chain hotel and worked perfectly for a family with 2 teenagers.

  • A very positive experience- fantastic amenities and the place was really clean and so spacious. Perfect for our get together with friends. Our children, a variety of ages, especially loved the cinema room and games room. We really appreciated the heating being on when we arrived, even the games room is heated and warm. James was very quick and helpful in all communication too. Would definitely recommend.

  • We stayed here for our Mums Surprise 60th! From the offset, james was great! We had lots of requests, each were met with ease. He went out of his way to make our stay perfect. We also had a gathering of friends over for a buffet, and all were amazed on how lovely and hospitable James had been! From start to finish, this was a fantastic stay. The house and grounds were stunning and immaculate. ( much bigger than we anticipated) We were welcomed with a gift, which was a really nice touch! The facilities were perfect, everything was covered. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and games room(S). Which gave use parents a break! Lots of toys to entertain them too! They (or us) didn’t want to leave! The house was spacious enough that we felt we all had our own space. We are hoping to book this as our go to family get together! Thanks again James - we will be back!

I would have no hesitation in recommending Pasana to anyone who requires a B&B in this area.

  • Pasana and her husband are so welcoming and sharing their beautiful house. This was an great experience of top hospitality. The interior of the house is absolutely amazing. There was a rather large garden with a stream at the bottom and even a little waterfull. The house is sparkly clean. There was some really lovely touches in the room coffee biscuits tea etc and towels shampoo and toothpaste. The room was lovely decorated with some nice art on the wall. The room was ensuite which is rather nice too. There was several options of breakfast and it was difficult to choose as the breakfasts looked all rather delicious. The house is just under 30 minutes to Bath which was perfect to visit the spa and 30 minutes from Glastonbury. I can definitely recommend this beautiful home with some absolutely lovely amazing hosts!

  • Pasana is warm and hospitable. I know that we don't have a car. After the trip is inconvenient, we drove us to the nearby town to play, and gave us a lot of travel advice, let us have a wonderful and enjoyable four days. At the same time, Pasana also prepared delicious food and fruit for us, which made me feel at home. Pasana's house is very beautiful, with flowers, waterfalls and cute ducklings. Every day is full of joy and is highly recommended.

  • Great self contained accommodation. Ross is very friendly and welcoming and was really helpful, communicative and accommodating with our very late booking. Being able to buy honey taken from the hives that very day was an added bonus!

  • An excellent self-contained place to stay. Ross was a friendly and welcoming host. We loved the environment and the brilliant nature-friendly ethos at Laurel Farm.

  • Perfect. Everything we needed. Definitely will stay in the future. Being able to take my two dogs was exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of room for me my parents and my 2 terriers. Having the little courtyard was ideal for the dogs too.

  • This is the second time I've stayed with Ross, the studio is a little gem and Ross's hospitality is first rate. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely little tucked away place! Hosts were lovely and were very responsive, everything was there as we needed and the place was clean and tidy throughout! The annex was super warm (we went in winter) so this was lovely to come back to! Would happily go again!
