Places to stay in Castle Combe

Places to stay in Castle Combe
Your home from home, beautifully decorated lovely character cottage built in the 1800s located on Cotswolds border. Lovely rural views to the rear. Easy access to Bath 14 miles, close to famous villages of Castle Combe and Lacock. Minutes from M4 and all amenities.
We think you will love our charming, comfortable and quaint character 3 bedroom cottage which has been tastefully decorated. The styling includes interesting treasures from the past while the cottage benefits from all the 'mod cons', nice bathroom, well equipped kitchen, central heating, dishwasher etc. There is a sheltered outdoor area with BBQ, table and chairs and views to the field. Also a small mown grassed area bordering the farmers crop. You are welcome to use these spaces during your visit. Located near to Chippenham and the M4, the cottage is situated on the road to Castle Combe. It enjoys lovely rural views over fields to the rear. It's an ideal base to explore this beautiful part of England with its ancient and Roman heritage including the South Cotswolds, Bath, Avebury, Lacock and many other historic and interesting places.
Situated in the countryside between Chippenham and Yatton Keynell. Very handy to the Castle Combe race track. The road can be busy at peak times but the ever-changing rural views from the back give a sense of space.
  • The cottage was gorgeous, really cozy and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there and much more. Loaf of bread, milk and cookies on arrival were a real treat. Really appreciated the host accepting our booking with less than 24hrs notice. Beds amazingly comfy! Fire lush and lovely area. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

  • Lovely house, well placed for the local sights.

  • Clean and lovely cottage. Would stay again.

  • We had the most amazing stay. Everything that we thought we might need was there for us and so much more. It was such a treat to receive an arrival gift and card and to have access to and all the necessary things for the dishwasher, washing machine etc was a real help. We did two local walks in opposing directions from the cottage using the helpful maps and loved the open fire and snuggly fleeces of an evening. We’d love to return again.

  • Lovely cottage! Thanks again for the Christmas gifts 🎁

    Xiaoqu2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my 2 friends stayed in Lynley’s lovely cottage for a long weekend, we was having a Christmassy weekend away to which Lynley was aware. She went above and beyond in making it just that by ensuring the cottage was beautifully dressed for Christmas which gave it that extra touch. A very cosy cottage, with plenty of space - everywhere was sparkling clean we had no issues with anything not working, a lovely big bathroom with a shower and a bath. We were also left with eggs, bread, milk, bacon and juice as well as a lovely gift of cookies from Lynley for us to enjoy. I would 100% recommend, I think we will definitely be coming back! Thank you Lynley for making our weekend that bit better.

  • Our stay was fab thanks to a truly lovely property which was so homely and comfortable. There were lovely finishing touches to make our stay extra special. We will definitely be going back!

  • A charming cottage in picturesque Castle Combe. Perfect size for a family of four. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable - what more could you ask for? The parking is offsite but it’s very close, and a lovely walk back to the cottage. The host left recommendations for things to do and places to eat - great tips! The local pubs are very nice and are within walking distance. Neighbors have freshly baked cakes outside with honesty boxes. It’s really something out of a fairytale. I’d definitely recommend this lovely place for a wonderful getaway. Light a fire in the wood burner and have a dreamy time.

  • Great cottage in a wonderful location! Very clean! Had to watch the ceiling height in a few places after bumping our heads, but realize this can be typical in British cottages. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  • We've stayed here previously so all was as expected. The cottage didn't disappoint and castle combe was glorious as ever.

    Richard2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beaut of a cottage in the most stunning village, perfect location, couple min walk to the 2 pubs. Having an allocated car park was amazing as car parking is like gold dust around there. Cottage has everything you need, check in easy & all communication was great. Definitely would love to stay again.

  • Would really recommend Castle Combe and middle cottage, we had the most lovely idyllic weekend, it had lots of lovely pubs in walking distance and the village is literally out of a movie. We loved every minute of our stay- thank you!

  • Cosy little cottage in a beautiful setting. The Old Museum has the perfect location to see the village and had plenty of walks available in the local area. I would definitely recommend

  • Incredible place, lovely cottage, comfortable bed, nice added touches, clean and stylish interior. Would definitely stay again!

  • The Old Museum was everything I hoped for an English getaway! Cozy, adorable, and convenient. Fleur was an amazing host who was responsive and offered great tips. Highly recommend afternoon tea at The Old Rectory Tea Room (make sure to book ahead), dinner/drinks at The Castle Inn, and taking a day trip to Bath. Would definitely stay again!

  • The cottage is in a GREAT location, easy to get to, has a decent parking spot and it's just generally a really nice place to stay. More spacious than pictures would have you believe. And you can see Fleur really goes above and beyond - definitely a super host. The sofa and bed are comfy as! and the fire is a total BABE! 真的是一个好地方,我百分之一推荐

  • The Old Museum cottage is absolute first class accommodations. It’s located just at the top of the hill with an easy walk to the beautiful Castle Combe village. Parking is on sight, but it’s recommended to have a smaller car to fit in the driveway. The cottage was clean, cozy, light and bright modern/traditional design. Perfect sized kitchen and all the tools to cook a nice meal. A few amenities were included such as cereal, milk, coffee, tea and biscuits- thank you! We loved using the wood burning fireplace as well. We only wish we had more time to enjoy the cottage. Highly recommend if looking in this area.

  • The Lodge is so peaceful, bright, warm and sparkling clean. Very well equipped with everything one needs. We really wished we had booked for longer than just two nights. Because of the Coronavirus we believe that using ABNB accommodation within the U.K. is much safer than staying in a hotel as you are in your own self contained space. Parking is good too. Walking in the area is great so we have to return when the Countryside has dried out after all the rain! But....we had a fantastic day of sunshine so we were fortunate. Katy and Graham made us very welcome. Highly recommend. Wiltshire is a beautiful County with a lot of history.

  • A warm, friendly welcome in clean and cosy accommodation!

    Andy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

    Tina2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay for a quiet break with lovely surroundings areas to walk and visit. It was very clean and comfortable and although Katy was available if required, I was left to work in peace, which is what I was there for. :-) Thank you

  • Fantastic holiday home , well situated for Bath and Bristol and the west. Clean hone and excellent hosts

  • We had such an amazing stay at Dartbury Lodge. A short drive away from Bath- which was perfect for us! We arrived to the heating on and the lodge open for as(pre organised by Katy) and just as we realised we forgot milk! We opened the fridge and there was milk and biscuits. Thank you for being a wonderful host and making us feel so welcome. Dartbury Lodge felt like a home away from home. We will definitely be back!

    Stefanie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice, quiet little detached lodge in the countryside. It was clean and warm, the heating was amazing, perfect since it was pretty stormy out. The kitchen looked like it was well equipped even though we didn't use it since there are so many cosy pubs/cafes/restaurants nearby. Towels provided and very clean (I could still smell fresh laundry scent on them). The only "downside" was that there was no toiletry holder inside the shower but that's not a deal breaker, just would have been handy to have. Katy and Graham were great hosts, friendly, let us have our own space but was very quick to respond to messages if we had any questions. Would love to come back here again for another getaway.

Little Fosse Farm is a family home offering a country escape. We are perfectly located in beautiful countryside ideal for exploring by foot, bike or car. Breakfast is offered in the kitchen, dining room or in the garden during the summer months. We offer a Full English Breakfast using locally sourced products where available and our own free range eggs. There is plenty of parking for cars and bikes, which if required can be under cover and secured.
The house is an old Cotswold Farmhouse and has many period features, the stairs are steep and may not be suitable for the elderly. Some of the beams in the house are low. The Cotswold Room is a good sized room that offers one double bed with an additional single bed for the option of a third guest. This listing has views of both the valley and the farm. Should you require a bit more space, you can also book through Airbnb the Beaufort Room at Little Fosse Farm, another good sized room for an additional one to two guest that offers one double bed.
The house is set on the Fosseway, an old Roman road, and is within walking distance of the local shop and Post Office. Castle Combe, a village voted the prettiest village in Britain, is also within walking distance by way of a beautiful and peaceful pathway. The Cotswolds are an area of outstanding natural beauty and something not to be missed. Something new and beautiful to explore about them in every season.
  • Fantastic location, very very clean, very helpful host , amazing breakfast . Couldn’t recommend enough

    Sonya2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place to stay! Can highly recommend little fosse farm for a relaxing stay out of the city. The house and property are in a fantastic location, with loads to see around and great local pubs close by. But Jane and Mark really made the stay!! Everything was so easy and we felt so welcomed. Would love to come again.

    Julia2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a hidden gem! Mark and Jane were phenomenal hosts. They went above and beyond with their tips on places to go in the Cotswolds. Breakfast was very hearty and filling and truly an English breakfast. We had great conversation with them as well. We would highly recommend staying here and if ever coming to the area we would stay here. The location is great if you are looking for a getaway away from it all but close enough to drive to the bigger places like Bath.

    Beth2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • From check in to check out this stay was lovely! We arrived earlier than expected but Jane let us park our cars and load our luggage off so we were more comfortable. Gave us some amazing tips on local walks/restaurants/sights. The room was very comfortable and perfect for 3 friends. Breakfast was accommodated for as we are 3 vegetarians and vegetarian sausages were provided which was a nice touch. A lovely home and a lovely family - got to meet all the dogs, hens and feed the horses. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  • Jane and Mark were wonderful hosts! The cottage was such a nice quaint clean and comfortable stay. It was a great place to stay to see Castle Combe and to get to near by towns from. Thanks Mark for the wonderful breakfast and for filling our heads with local history. Jane, wonderful tips and suggestions on places to go and where to eat. It was such a pleasure meeting you both. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

  • A lovely little retreat which we found very homely and welcoming, it had everything that we needed and more. Beautiful location and scenery. Thank you

    James2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, much bigger than we expected and a real joy to stay in. A fabulously large kitchen and dining area which meant that the 8 of us could all sit round the table for breakfast and dinner. The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything you could want. A log burner in the lounge meant we were all cosy and warm and with four lovely bedrooms and two bathrooms meant we were not under each other's feet. We didn't get chance to experience the outside space as it was really cold (November) but we would love to come again in the summer. Great location, really quiet but with easy access to Bath and Castle Combe. Definitely recommended.

  • A great place to stay if you like a place full of character, great living space, and situated in a nice quiet remote part of the world.

    Laurence2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, in the countryside. Farm shop up the road. Easy to find. And very clean with extra touches added like firewood. We were a group of friends and loved cooking and playing board games in the beautiful space.

    Toni2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and explore the surrounding countryside. Very well equipped house and done to a high spec!

    Darren2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The photos really dont do the place justice. Its such a lovely warm, wonderfully decorated, comfortable spacious house. Its got character to it, and is the perfect space for entertaining. We came in winter, but it wasnt a problem! We were a bit nervous about using the dining table for playing board games (its just very old and we didnt want to damage it) , so we kept those to the living room, but there was so much space it wasnt a problem. Plenty of bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs, warm house, conservatory space for keeping boots after walking through the countryside- Dishwasher for dinner parties, little amenities such as coffee pods and shampoo available and a bottle of wine for us which was a really lovely touch! We were a group of 7 and 2 dogs, who all had a lovely time. Views were beautiful in the morning with the mist, and there is a great walk down to the local pubs which we would recommend. Loads of things nearby/places to see etc. The only thing I would say, is the garden has quite a low wall next to the road, so just keep doggies on a lead if you're unsure, but there's plenty of countryside nearby to walk in! Parking for 3 cars squished up against each other, but wouldnt fit any more in. For us it wasnt a problem though! We thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will most certainly be coming back! Would highly recommend! Quick responses from the hosts who were very friendly, and answered all questions with no problems :)

Beautiful character farm house Annex, built circa 1820. Recently renovated to a very high standard. Stone floors and reclaimed elm floorboards. Well appointed modern kitchen. Jacuzzi bath for that added luxury. Includes wood burner with logs (FOC). Own private garden. Ample parking. Rural setting with beautiful countryside walks. Excellent country pub within walking distance. Location 5 minutes from junction 18. Great access to Bath, Bristol and Cotswolds. 1 hour 30 minutes to London.
Steep stairs to bedroom and bathroom. Under floor heating in stone floors. Sattelite TV. Tea, coffee and bread and butter will be provided. Kitchen includes dishwasher (tablets provides FOC), fan oven and hob. Cooking equipment all provided. All bed linen and towels provided and can be changed during a longer stay (+5 days) on request. We have a resident dog and 2 cats. They have no direct access into the Annex. We are happy to accept well behaved dogs who will be friendly to our animals and we would expect that guests will pick up after their own.
Country Pub in the village of Burton less than 1 mile walk and many others within 2 miles. We often have horses in the surrounding fields and we are surrounded by beautiful fields.
  • Ainslie’s annex was an absolute joy to stay in, she provided homely features, such as a smart TV with access to Sky movies and Netflix. As a host, she was extremely flexible and quickly responded to any questions. Being allowed to bring our dog made the stay even more enjoyable, with fabulous local walks and places to enjoy. The annex features an absolutely lovely sofa in front of the TV and fireplace which really tied the whole farm/country side atmosphere together. When we arrived the firewood had been stacked up ready to go, and every night we had the fire roaring away keeping us warm. The kitchen was fully kitted out with a full oven, functional work top and dish washer. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage space in both large shelving and chest of drawers. Leading on from the bedroom was the finely furnished bathroom with a luxurious bath with built in jacuzzi feature meaning we could end each day of walking with a relaxing soak. One small thing that we did miss during our stay was the lack of full standing shower, this didn’t ruin our stay by any means, but was certainly missed in the mornings when we wanted a quick shower before starting our day, this was mitigated by the lovely aforementioned bath that did include a built in shower head, but no means to mount it to shower standing up. Finally, as people who were maybe somewhat dubious about staying in an annex with the fear of overbearing hosts, we can say that Ainslie gave us the space and privacy that we needed, but at the same time was quick to respond to messages and in general was there when we needed her. Overall, Nettleton was a quaint village with great footpaths and beautiful views, the perfect getaway for those who want to get away from the city. However there aren’t any shops immediately close by, so just be aware that you may need to travel a small ways to get food and other bits and pieces. The annex was a perfect little home away from home, great for a weekend away or a longer stay. Thanks Ainslie!

    Harriet2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend this quaint, comfy cottage. Ainslie is a fabulous host & we will definitely be back again for the Christmas Markets in bath.

    Angela2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place. Close to Bristol and Bath, but far enough away to escape the rush (particularly during the Christmas market!) Really loved the building modern but warm and cosy as well, particularly the fireplace and bath. It is very comfortable and clean but it is the little touches like the milk, jam and bread that made it feel so amazing to stay at. I can't recommended enough and would absolutely stay at again!

  • Excellent cosy little cottage, perfect for a weekend away.

    Calum2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ainslie’s place is perfect! The annexe was wonderfully cosy, and the kitchen is really well-stocked with equipment. Ainslie was really helpful advising places we could go to, and also left birthday chocolates which was really sweet. The area itself is perfect- really great views of the countryside and lovey walks! Definitely would go back again

    Sanah2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near to Bath,Bristol and wonderful countryside with plenty of places to visit and explore. Anislie & Ben are great hosts and live in the main house adjoining. The Annex is spacious, beautifully clean and comfortably finished with well fitted kitchen with dining and comfortable lounge area with a lovely spacious bathroom and bedroom on first floor. Parking right outside Annex Should be noted that stairs to the bedroom and bathroom are steep

    Keith2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ainslie was very welcoming, super quick to respond and the annexe was well designed. We appreciated the welcome ingredients of bread, butter, milk and jam. Oil and condiments supplied too. The property is well insulated so cosy but logs were available for the stove. Well placed for accessing Bath, Bradford on Avon, Castle Coombe. Great pubs locally with very reasonably priced food. Get yourself an ordnance survey map to orientate yourself.

    Joyce2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in Ainslies annex was exactly what I had been looking for: a quiet place all to my own, in the midst of a gorgeous landscape, however still close to everything one might need (cities Bath and Bristol, supermarkets, etc.) The fireplace was my best friend and the bath tub was just luxurious. I will most definitely try and come back again :)

Welcome to our cosy cottage in the Cotswolds. The cottage was built in the 1820’s so its traditional and full of character with all the modern amenities. It has 2 bedrooms, a modern kitchen with a dishwasher, power shower, central heating and a traditional open fire. The cottage is situated 10 metres from the local pub and local shop. There is a private front garden to enjoy with a BBQ. Location wise it is a 35 minute drive into Bath & Bristol. Castle Coombe is a 15 minute drive.
Luckington is a village and civil parish in the southern Cotswolds, in north-west Wiltshire, England, about 6 1⁄2 miles (10 km) west of Malmesbury. The village is on the B4040 road linking Malmesbury and Old Sodbury. The parish is on the county border with Gloucestershire and includes the village of Alderton and the hamlet of Brook End. The Cotswolds are designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which means it is recognised as containing some of Britain's finest countryside. As such it is protected as a special landscape of national importance. The area covers 790 square miles, of which some 80% is farmland. The region is delineated by the belt of rich limestone – the source of building materials for cottages, fine buildings and churches. The limestone Cotswold stone in the northern Cotswolds is a rich honey coloured brown which gradually grades creamier towards the south at Luckington. Badminton House is just across the county border, about 1 3⁄4 miles (2.8 km) southwest of Luckington village. Parkland of the Badminton estate extends a short distance into Luckington parish
make sure you check out the pub! great food and drink! you can also get your food to go!
  • We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely look to return. Easy check in process and the location is ideal. The cottage is seconds away from the local pub just across the road and on the first night after arriving we ate there. It was easy to park near the Airbnb and to drive to nearby areas such as Castle Combe and Cirencester for days out. Also easy to get to the arboretum at Westonbirt . There are lots of local walks in the area (bring adequate walking shoes or wellies in the wetter months!). There were tea and coffee facilities in the cottage and the central heating was easy to control. There is also a stunning fireplace and great to use on a stormy night. The kitchen was well equipped and included a dishwasher, oven and microwave. Tip if you’re over 6ft tall - watch your head as you go from the living room into the hallway! Thank you for a great stay :)

  • Clint's cottage was a perfect escapade from the city. It had everything you could want - fully equipped kitchen, fireplace which made staying in on the evenings perfect and the place itself was very stylish and comfortable. The cottage itself was in a cute little village, close to a pub so if you wanted to grab a drink in the evening without driving anywhere (less than a minute walk away), it was perfect. It was conveniently located near countryside walks and Castle Combe (about 15 minute drive away). We couldn't find a shop nearby but that wasn't a problem as we brought everything with us that we needed. Clint was very kind and hospitable, flexible and responded very quickly to all messages. Thank you so much for everything!

  • The Wife and I stayed here as our base for Bath, along with our boy, a 7yr old Greyhound. The Dairy is a beautiful place to be and we very much enjoyed coming back here after our days activities. Francesca really does think of everything, you can tell she is a fabulous host, it really did show! The pictures don't do the real thing justice, a lovely spot and the local pub makes for a lovely meal aswell, would be 10 🌟 if we could ❤️👍

  • Lovely little space in a beautiful village! Not much in the village itself but plenty surrounding it and it’s a great spot to explore the Cotswolds. Sadly it rained for us but we’ll be back in the Summer hopefully to make the most of it next time!

    Celine2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice space in a really nice location. Francesca was a lovely and welcoming host. The only problem for us was getting the temperature in the shower right as it was either too hot or too cold. Apart from that would definitely stay again.

It is very remote which is exactly what I was looking for but would suggest planning your travel very carefully if you aren’t.

  • Up there with my favourite ever air b&b stays!! The cabin is lovely and Clint was the perfect host I highly recommend

    Mark2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at this cute cabin! Bit adventurous in winter perhaps, but the electric fire provided warmed the room up very quickly. The countryside location, garden outlook. easy parking and privacy (no overlooking properties) all contributed to a great stay. Nice pub on your doorstep too and local people very friendly and welcoming. For an alternative, comfortable Airbnb stay in a typical English village, I happily recommend you stay here. (Perhaps a quick mention that the bathroom isn't heated and the entrance is external to the bedroom so you need to step out a few steps to the side across the decking to access)

  • What a beautiful home! One of the nicest places I've been lucky enough to stay in. Location is brilliant and really not too far away from anywhere you'd like to visit. We visited Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol, Castle Coombe and many other places and nothing is further than an hour and you don't compromise on location. If you dont fancy using the lovely kitchen they have then there's a really great pub a stones throw away and an array of other cuisine a 10/15 minute drive away in Chippenham. If you're reading this review then look no further and book this rare gem.

    Liam2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend staying here! One of the comfiest beds I’ve stayed in! Lovely escape from the city. Becky is a very thoughtful host- provided breakfast bits which was a lovely touch! Would definitely visit again.

    Kiran2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Becky and Chris' place for four nights in January and were very pleased with our time there. Becky went above and beyond our expectations, with the provision of basics such as farm eggs, milk and bread and a detailed folder of things to see and do showing a high level of sensitivity to our needs. The accommodation is spacious for two people, private, quiet and finished to a high specification; the bed is extremely comfortable and the kitchen is equipped very well. The property is ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds and everywhere is within a reasonable drive, with walks to neighbouring villages such as Castle Combe straightforward and pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Becky and Chris and would recommend them as hosts to anyone.

    Dale2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t recommend Becky’s place enough, the cottage has beautiful character and a cosy feel with modern amenities. Becky provides an arrival book with recommendations on restaurants, places to visit etc. We used that along with entries by previous guests in the guest book to finalise our plans for the weekend. Our main reason to stay was to be close enough to Bath but in a rural location, however you are close enough here to visit three different counties, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset depending on the length of your stay. With so much to see and do near the area we will certainly be back again as the accommodation and hospitality was second to none. Thank you

    Jacquelyne2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit, can’t fault this beautiful countryside apartment. No wonder we keep wanting to return. The comfiest bed with stunning and very peaceful views. Great central point to local cities or sites of interest. We ventured out to Stonehenge and Salisbury this time around, previously we used this space as a base for a longleat visit. Friendly hosts that are there to help.

    Lucija2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • My 14 year old daughter and I wanted to experience life in a village in the countrysides of England so we found Helen's place in Yatton Keynell. We are from a small town in the US so it was definitely out of our comfort zone. After feeling a bit of stress from the hour and a half drive (yes I attempted to drive!!) Helen agreed to drive us both to the train station the next morning and even guide us in purchasing our train tickets (since we were new to that experience as well), so we could go visit the Christmas markets in Bath without feeling the stress of driving. On our way to the station she gave me driving tips that honestly gave me the confidence I needed to get us where we needed to be the next few days! We couldn't have asked for a better host!! As for the stay...We initially couldn't find the place because the Maps on my phone told us to turn a couple driveways too soon which led us into a small loop of homes. She gave us guidance on that prior, but we still had to park in someone's driveway, take a deep breath and figure out where we needed to be. Not a fault of there's since she gave directions knowing some people's maps sends them there, but want to let you know so you too can find the right driveway and not panic;) It was nice having a spot to park the car in their driveway. You walk through their backyard to get to the private room. They have 3 adorable little boys and 2 dogs so understand that prior to booking. We love kids and dogs so this was completely fine and even fun for us, but if you're looking for a romantic, quiet retreat, this probably isn't the place for you. The room was very clean and perfect for us with a mini fridge, separate bathroom and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!! It was a fairly easy (once I was more confident) drive to the cute and sought out village of Castle Combe. Chippenham Train station is about 15 minutes away if you want to head there. The drive from the airport once off M4 consisted of only a couple roundabouts if you're nervous about those!! We

  • Perfect little space in a stunning village. The bed is so cosy I didn't want to wake up!

    Tamar2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 6 nights in this cosy and tastefully decorated annex, next to the beautiful main building and garden. We slept comfortably in a very cozy bed. Further features of this very clean Airbnb: A modern, yet stylish bathroom with quality beauty-products, a hairdryer, Nespresso coffee machine, coffee capsules, a facility to make tea plus a selection of tea, a little fridge where Helen put a bottle of fresh milk every day. Even the towels were changed regularly. Helen was very nice and helpful in every way - she did everything to make our stay as homely as possible. Her super friendly family and the beautiful dogs where very welcoming too. We will definitively come back.

Julie was incredibly warm and welcoming and provided a warm, comfortable environment for us. She had great tips for places to go and things to do. She went above and beyond in her role as a host and turned a good trip into a great one. The studio itself is a fantastic space with all the necessary amenities, leaving nothing to be desired. We would absolutely stay here again in the future!

    Connor2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was a wonderful host and the place is very idealic. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future!

    Sam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely fantastic. Julie is a tremendous host and goes above and beyond with stocking the fridge and cupboards with items to enjoy. She has great local knowledge and took the time to show us around her place and pointed out the route to the village of Castle Combe. She also gave us recommendations of where to eat and gave us tips on how best to get into Bath on our second day. We also loved her dog Rupert which was a nice added bonus! 😄 We couldn’t recommend it enough and would definitely go back if we were to go back down to that area of the country!

    Caitlin2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio is a fantastic place to stay. The accommodation has everything you could possibly want and is beautifully designed and decorated. Julie is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. Even the fridge was well stocked and the Carrot Cake an extra surprise. The hospitality of Julie was especially kind and informative given we stayed over the Christmas period! The accommodation really did feel like a beautiful five star hotel set in stunning cotswold countryside.

    Simon2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We walked into Julie’s Studio and immediately felt a sense of warmth and comfort — exactly what we were searching for a cozy pre-Christmas holiday. The Studio was well decorated, sparkling clean, had heated floors and every amenity you could ever need. We had the pleasure of meeting both Julie and Charles, and felt even more at home with their lovely presence. Genuine and warm hosts like them always make an AirBnb experience so much more pleasurable and memorable! The Studio sits on a stunning property that has a very nice walking path to get to Castle Combe. Highly recommend this place for your next countryside getaway! Our only regret was not staying longer!

    Jenna2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend a host or house more highly!

    Lisle2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place hidden away but yet only a 15 min walk into the beautiful little village. Perfect for a get away with the family/dogs..highly recommend. Julie made it extra special for us too!

The Castle Inn is located in 'England's Prettiest Village', Castle Combe, on the Southern edge of the Cotswolds, near Bath. Whilst retaining lots of original features, our standard rooms have en-suite bathrooms, complimentary wi-fi, tea & coffee making facilities and a flat screen television. We serve tasty, traditional pub food everyday in either the bar, lounge or patio terrace and have a great selection of local ales and ciders on tap.
Castle Combe is often referred to as the 'Prettiest Village in England' because of it's quaint Cotswold stone cottages, historic Market Cross and the meandering Bybrook river. There's lots to do in the area - the World Heritage City of Bath is 12 miles away and the National Trust properties at Lacock and Dyrham are nearby. Longleat is a 45 minute drive away and the heart of the Cotswolds can be reached in less than an hour.
  • Nice place to stay at!! Pretty town! Breakfast was good!

    Gerda2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I'm still a little unsure but I think The Manor House and The Castle Inn work together with books. Both places were beautiful and people were friendly. I went to check in at the Castle Inn and was told my booking wasn't seen and no rooms were available but to try at The Manor House. I went to check in there and got settled in. It was a wonderful area.

This is a shared property with the hosts offering 2 private bedrooms and a private bathroom, for up to 4 guests. A spacious yet quaint cottage in the wiltshire countryside, on the edge of the beautiful village of Castle Combe. Property has two available bedrooms, each tastefully decorated. A continental style breakfast is provided. Plenty to see and do in this picturesque location, and close to Bath.
A spacious detached cottage with character, a fusion of old and modern decor in Castle Combe, and close to Bath. There are two cosy bedrooms allocated for guests, each with a standard UK sized double bed. Every booking can therefore include up to 4 guests. The two rooms will not be booked out separately to different parties at any time. For example, up to 4 friends or a family with 2 children may book the two rooms together. If there is 1 or 2 of you in one room, then the other room remains empty. This is for your convenience and to avoid strangers having to share the bathroom. Please contact me if you require further explanation. The cost is based on two people sharing a double room, or a single person travelling alone. The second room is charged separately with an additional cost per person. It is possible for two people to have their own bedroom, however there is an additional cost for this. If this configuration is requested I will modify the price accordingly. Please do ask if you require further information. We also live in the property but give our guests plenty of privacy.
Castle Combe, set at the the tip of the Cotswolds, has been dubbed the prettiest village in England, and has been the location for various film sets. It occupies a prime location to visit the area, including the popular city of Bath and surrounding villages and attractions. There are local walks which are public that take you directly into the village. This location is also convenient for the Castle Combe Racing Circuit which is a short walk away. Noise can be heard from the circuit or as people are arriving for an event on the odd weekend but this is usuallly temporary and guests so far haven't felt it an issue.
  • Went for a weekend away to the cottage. AMAZING space and home. Very beautiful and welcoming. Fab extra little touches everywhere. Short walk into the main village area. (roughly 10 mins walking at slow pace) Hosts very friendly and helpful with plenty of local knowledge. Best to book the pub in advance if you're after dinner - luckily Richard let us know this well in advance and we took his advice. We'll definitely recommend to family and friends and hope to be back next year.

  • A truly stunning home. Richard ensured everything had been thought of with a great choice of breakfast items, fruit yoghurts, toast, croissants and fruit juice. The house is immaculately clean and furnished beautifully. We were staying near to Christmas to visit Bath Christmas market. We caught the train from Chippenham and it was a very easy journey without the hassle of driving to the city. The house was decorated for the season and we were enchanted. Thank you.

The rooms are stunning and in such a wonderful setting; small touches everywhere to make this a wonderful place to stay. So sad to have only stayed the one night. The local tips about places to eat, getting around, and what to do were so good and really enjoyed talking with our host too - so kind. It was a genuine privilege and hope I find an excuse to come back to this beautiful cottage again. Thank you Vince and Richard!!!

Charming attic room and single room in the heart of Corsham, a historic Wiltshire market town full of character. This Grade 2 listed cottage is set back from the road with a beautiful walk down the garden path to the front door. It is packed with charm and decorated beautifully with antiques and comfortable cottage furnishings.
Within an easy, flat, two minute walk from the high street Bences Lane is well situated for visitors to explore the beautiful surroundings. There are several fantastic local pubs on the high street. The attic room is a very atmospheric and relaxing bedroom supplied with a kettle so you can make drinks and a television should you choose to stay in and relax. This is a great place to base yourself to explore Corsham and all of it's riches. If you are a Poldark fan then you are a 2 minute walk from where some of the street scenes were filmed. There are plenty of local places that serve superb food. Jan will be here to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. There is a local shop at the top of the road that sells freshly baked bread! Corsham has a stunning local stately home, this cottage was formerly the gardeners cottage for Corsham Court. It dates back to 1752, so it is a great example of rustic Georgian architecture.
Corsham is a bustling market town just south of the Cotswolds with plenty around to explore such as Castle Combe or Bath for those wanting some city culture.
  • Jan was very accommodating as accepted the booking just an hour or so before I stayed, so her quick responses were much appreciated. I only stayed overnight and spent time sleeping in the bedroom. Room had a fine variety of hot drinks available. Was spot on for my needs. The Flemish pub was great for food and drinks, but do book in advance.

  • My wife and I had a 2 day stay and we absolutely loved every minute of it. Location, cleanliness and hospitality was spot on. The barn was beautiful and my wife fell in love with it straight away. If we are ever down the Cotswolds again we will definitely be staying at Talbot barn. Thankyou Carol

  • Lovely first floor barn conversion. Everything was clean and had what we needed. Great location for visiting Castle Combe and Bath. Enjoyed the Smart Tv after a day of exploring. Good pressure shower, rooms larger than they looked in pictures, and good heating. Lots of information from Host!

  • An excellent property with lots of added touches that made the stay so much better. Fitted to a very high standard, very clean and warm, with state of the art fitting and equipment, the property is ideal for a break in a beautiful part of the country. Carol is an excellent host and gave very clear directions, instructions and helpful ideas. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. She was very responsive to the few questions I had, but would no doubt help you in any way possible. I would readily recommend this property to family and friend without hesitation.

Walnut Cottage is a bright, cheerful spacious annexe to our family home, decorated in a neutral palette with splashes of colour. Converted from an old dairy in the 90s, it underwent total renovation in 2017. My family and I then lived in it for a year whilst renovating our house. The master bedroom has a super king sized bed and there are single beds in the second bedroom. The large sitting room has oak floors throughout and a wood burning stove.
Luckington is ideally suited for exploring Bath and Bristol (both about 30 mins drive away) and the Cotswolds. Westonbirt arboretum is a 10 minute drive, the market town of Malmesbury 15 minutes and Tetbury with its world class selection of antiques shops is also about 15 minutes away. The annexe is ideally suited for Badminton Horse Trials, in fact, its walkable or a less than 5 minute car drive.
  • What a lovely cottage and a real gem of an Airbnb find! Absolutely perfect for a weekend break in the cotswolds. Communication with Sharon was really easy and then once we arrived, the cottage had everything you could ask for. Beautifully decorated with plenty of space and really comfortable beds and sofa. Lovely local pub which served good food less than 5 min walk away. After a day out cycling, was lovely to come and relax with the fire on. Definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

  • This air bnb is beautiful. The views are incredible and it’s an extremely stylish place. We particularly loved using the wood burner to keep us cosy in the evenings. I think the beds were the most comfortable I’ve ever had. Sharon was on hand to help with any requests we had and was extremely helpful with local tips. The flat in the perfect base to have in the Cotswolds!

The perfect location just outside of Bath but in the countryside. Our pretty little one bedroom cottage is in a picturesque village: For a peaceful break in the country and only a short journey to Bath for days/nights out, giving you the best of both worlds. A village shop, 2 pubs all a 3 min walk. Comfy & cosy, great for a couple & very affordable. There is so much to explore in the area and miles and miles of countryside walks if you choose - or just relax in peace and quiet in comfort.
Our pretty cottage on 2 floors, there is one bedroom with a King - size bed. A fully-equipped kitchen means you can stay in and cook if you don't want to go out. For the Winter months there is a wood-burner with one basket of logs supplied (November-March). We offer free fibre broadband and the Smart TV, allows you to use your own Netflix subscription. Very cosy, warm & homely. The cottage does not have a garden, however there is a small patio area with a table and chairs, perfect for having your morning coffee or that glass of wine on a nice evening. We are pet friendly and due to the size of the cottage, we allow one small well behaved dog (no cats).
Pretty little village, ideal for a romantic getaway. A hidden gem. Short 5 minute drive to Lucknam Park hotel, 9 minute drive to the Lost Orangery (Colerne), so ideal for Wedding accommodation. If booking a taxi use Steve Bye, but book well in advance. 07788 430380. Countrywide private hire. Thickwood.

  • Roman cottage is a beautiful and relaxing place to get away for a countryside break. Rich was very quick to reply and being a dog friendly cottage was even better for us. The check in was seamless and the cottage nice and clean. The village is so peaceful and locals very polite. The surroundings are perfect for walks and to get away from city life. We will be looking forward to coming back soon

    Ben2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place just a short walk from shops and pubs in the village. Communication with Rich prior to my stay was excellent and he was helpful when I needed to extend my stay at short notice. Everything in Roman Cottage was as described. Very clean and cosy. Made to feel very welcome and the log burner was even made up and ready to go. Parking wasn’t an issue and there was a little wood close by for the dog to stretch his legs. I travelled on my own as was in the region to see friends and felt very secure and happy in the cottage at all times.

    Victoria2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cottage, warm and cozy, everything we needed, beautiful quiet little village with easy access to Bath and the M4.

  • Tania and her place were both entirely lovely! It was perfectly situated to explore Bath and the Cotswold villages, as well as Avebury and the stones there. I was able to do and see all that I wanted in the area and it was the perfect home base. Tania was so very warm and welcoming--she gave wonderful advice, not only for local things to do, but also suggestions as I continue on my trip around the UK. She made us a gorgeous breakfast in the morning, all that anyone could want and more. I would definitely stay here again!

Also better to arrive here during the day when there is still some light. It’s in a beautiful village and the cottage is surrounded by lots of open lands. It’s a nice little retreat.
