  • We Stayed in Woodpecker Lodge and have had a fantastic stay. Keith and Serena are lovely hostswith lots of local information. The lodge was perfect....there is a Woodpecker which you can hear and you may be lucky to see the Deer if you wander the pathways. There is an onsite store and a nearby Superstore for all needs. The hot tub sets it all off, it was ready for use when we got there and is great to get in at night with some Bubbly.

  • Well what can I say about woodpecker lodge? Absolutely amazing! We wanted a quiet and relaxing weekend to de stress and this log cabin was exactly the perfect place! The cabin was stylish and comfy. The kitchen well equipped for all needs and the log burner was amazing on the cold nights. We loved the hot tub with multi function and lights and even enjoyed it during stormy weather with torrential rain which made it even more special! Keith and his wife were awesome hosts and totally went above and beyond for us when we had a flat tyre! These guys are truly awesome and we will be recommending this place to our friends and family!

  • We had the best time at Woodpecker Lodge! The location is beautiful, private and so peaceful. The hot tub (an absolute favourite) and the wood burner made our stay extra special. Our great hosts responded quickly and couldn’t do enough to help. As a group we would absolutely recommend Woodpecker Lodge and we fully intend on returning for a longer stay in the future! :)

  • Beautiful log cabin set among the forest. Best thing about it was sitting in the hot tub with the star spattered sky above you, listening to the sounds of the wild like an owl and its chicks. You don’t get to hear or see much of that in the city! The cabin was spotless, the log burner a cosy touch and the kitchen was well stocked with every utensil, pan etc. you could possibly need. Perfect little break away and I would recommend to anyone!

    Sarah2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Woodpecker Lodge is perfect! It’s clean and has everything you could possibly need. It’s in a secluded location and therefore you have your privacy. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • Really cosy and romantic cabin with plenty of space. We stayed in woodpecker lodge with a hot tub for three nights. For our first night we only had one neighbour but thankfully the hot tub is mostly covered by a wooden screen - the hot tub next door was the other side of some bushes and we could hear the others but it didn’t disturb us. Access to the hot tub was a little chilly as you can’t go from the cabin door down the steps to it, there’s a wooden ramp before hand but once you’re in the tub it’s lovely. The shop was shut when we went to visit for more drinks or kindling (you get enough for 1 fire) but we sent a message and they opened up quickly for us. We were given detailed maps and some recommendations of where to go and what to see. We did the pooh sticks walk which was about 3 miles in total and had some nice views. The amenities were clean but the crockery and cutlery was all poorly washed so we had to clean things as we used them - that’s most likely the fault of previous occupants though and not necessarily the hosts. All in all a positive experience, it was a relaxing, charming atmosphere and comfortable.

  • I would highly recommend this beautiful place. So relaxing and cosy. Staff are very helpful and friendly with giving tips on what to do locally. I would love to come back again.

  • Woodpecker Lodge is the perfect place for a relaxing break. The lodge is bigger than it looks in the photos, and has absolutely everything you need. The hot tub was lovely and warm, and perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking. The lodge is cosy and very warm and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back again.

  • Paul was the perfect host, from the minute we arrived we were treated with the best hospitality. The venue exceeded everyone’s expectations and was perfect for the hen do we had planned. The food was fantastic! I cannot fault our stay we will most certainly be back and I could not recommend more! Thank you Paul

    Charlotte2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with lots of things to do. We would love to return when the weather improves and make use of the lovely outdoor pool and facilities but the hot tub was fantastic. In the evening we made use of the separate ‘party area’ which was lovely. Paul lit the wood burner so we all sat down and ate together or had a dip in the tub. Lyme Regis is fab for a day out, fresh fish and lovely shops. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

    Kerry2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a hen party. Super accommodating host (Paul), very friendly and on hand to help with any queries. So many great little touches - fires burning on arrival, massage chair, karaoke, hot tub ...the lists goes on... Fantastic value and location.

    Jacqui2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a lovely, laid back host. He made sure that the fires were lit to keep us warm out in the party house, and was always available if we needed anything. The place itself was amazing and is simply the perfect location for any event/occasion (we were celebrating a 21st birthday). I would not hesitate to book again!

    Chloe2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • 12 of us headed down to Mistletoe Farm for a hen party in January and it could not have been more perfect. The location was beautiful and we had a lovely countryside walk to the Haymakers pub nearby. The venue itself was amazing - beautiful buildings, nice clean beds, everything we needed. Our favourite was the bar/party room which was well stocked and had great touches such as the disco lights and karaoke machine. The log burner kept it nice and cosy and there was plenty of space for us to chill/dance/eat/party. Paul and his family were excellent hosts - a great mix of tolerant (!) attentive, but not at all in the way, and good humoured. They made a delicious curry for our dinner - the onion bhajis especially were a huge hit. He kept our fire burning and seemed to be so pleased that we were having a great time in the surroundings he'd created. We're already plotting an excuse to head back down in the future, if they'd have us - be it for another hen, a family get together or just a countryside retreat. Wonderful, flexible venue and hosts!!! Thank you so much, the hen and the rest of us had the best time.

    Joanne2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We all had the best time here, 10 of us visited to celebrate a 30th. Paul was the perfect host who was there when we needed him, then let us have the place to ourselves the rest of the time! He was so helpful showing us round and so relaxed around setting up the rooms with decorations to make it an extra special birthday. The party rooms are separate from the sleeping areas which makes it really to host events here and the hot tub, party room with kareoke, sauna and bar were real highlights. Could not recommend this place more for hosting birthday or group celebration!

    Natalie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place - outstanding hospitality from Paul, always happy to help and making sure the fire(s) were lit. Pool/hot tub/sauna excellent and clean.

  • Great find. We only used Maureen’s place for a one night stopover but would happily have spent more time there. The house was clean and comfortable and Maureen left us breakfast supplies for the morning.

  • Perfect easy going host and a great location, with unbeatable value for money

    Sam2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

The private wing of the house is great for a group of friends or family with its own seating area, kitchen, bathroom, and two comfortable bedrooms. Definitely stay here if you are traveling through the beautiful English countryside.

  • A very tranquil and private accomodation, with easy access to Axminster. We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.

  • We had a great time at Simon and Greta’s and felt very looked after. We arrived to a fridge full of all the essentials plus fresh eggs, apples grown in the orchard and even some delicious cider. We were there to visit Lyme Regis and draw the landscape, so we were perfectly located with a 20 minute drive to the beach. We were there in October and had a couple of days with high winds but it was so cosy to be in our little studio hide out. It felt so snug. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

    Kate2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is exactly as described. Very comfy beds, a couple of arm chairs for tv watching. We took our own supper and there were plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. Fabulous provisions for breakfast, a real bonus, with fab verandah and view. Lovely hosts.

  • Really lovely place, Simon was very friendly and welcoming. The place is so relaxing and peaceful with stunning views from the balcony. A very generous (maybe too generous) selection was available for breakfast. We stayed to go to a wedding party nearby and after being let down by the taxi company our host simon kindly took us

  • Fabulous cottage! We were delighted with everything about this place. It was warm and welcoming and had everything we needed for our short break. Leigh was welcoming and helpful and the cottage was full of local information. Terrific to be so close to the lamas and hens. Super country walks for our little dog. Well stocked local shop. Pretty perfect place!!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was beautifully styled, comfortable and cosy. Leigh and Nick provide little touches that made us feel really welcome - fresh eggs from the chickens, a vase of flowers, afternoon tea and even a special treat for our dog. We loved meeting the llamas and chickens. The local village and pub was a short walk down the road despite feeling like we were miles from anywhere. It was a short drive to Lyme Regis and loads of other attractions around the area. Overall, we’re really happy to have stayed here.

  • Fantastic, beautifully renovated cottage. We were three families with three toddlers between us and the space was perfect. It had everything we needed to cook at home both nights, superb facilities all round and comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and living space. We really appreciated the basic groceries left for us on arrival. Close to lots of lovely villages and Lyme Regis isn’t far away either (about 30 minutes). Would definitely recommend, including for those without toddlers!

  • This place is a little gem, exceeded expectations without a doubt. Much bigger than I anticipated. Kitted our with everything and more than you could wish for. Some essentials were there for us to enjoy, such as bread, butter, homemade plum jam, duck eggs milk tea and coffee. Paula was a wonderful host who showed me round and was happy for me to contact her whilst there if we needed anything we didn’t have (as I said previously they have kitted this place out with literally everything you could need/want) Visiting family in the area this was perfect for myself, my daughter and our pooch Marley. Will certainly book again. Thanks again.

  • We had a lovely time here and it was a great place to stay. Wonderful hosts and the eggs and bread were a lovely thought. Thank you very much

  • This place was a perfect stay for me and my family. We had stayed there for 13 nights, when entering the site we had an impact of an exceeded expectation. The place is in a very beautiful hilly location, close to Ilminster and you can supply easier with food and drinks. The annex is great, very tidy clean and warm and it has also history: it has around 400 years old and it used to be something else, they renovated using the walls between the bedroom, lounge and bathroom (the remaining of the old building maybe) and added the rest of it and gave a classic style that you feel when entering inside. There is also a longcase clock and it's up to you whether you want to pull the cable pulleys or not. Paula and Chris are two lovely hosts and they know the area very well and they can guide you especially if you are looking for carboots or other similar events. They are very flexibile and understanding, and if you have a pet or not, looking for a relaxing place for holidays , this place is the best for you!

  • Used as a base fir a fossil hunting trip with daughter. Great ease for booking in and out and great communication. Great space for two and definitely larger than expected. Expect some traffic noise from road but annexe is generally well insulated. I would return again if visiting the area

  • Dinah is a warm, caring, and interesting hostess who is genuinely interested in meeting people and wants her guests to be totally at their ease. Add to this an amazingly comfortable bed and a spotlessly clean room, and you have the ideal listing for a solo traveller.

Buckland st Mary is a quiet rural village in the heart of Somerset. Our location gives you peace and quiet, but is also convenient for day trips to all the sights this region has to offer, such as Lyme Regis on the Jurassic coast, beautiful north Devon beaches, Exmoor National Park, Sheppy’s local cider orchards and Forde Abbey, with its spectacular gardens. If you’d rather stay closer to home, there are some lovely walks and several outstanding local pubs, in particular, The Candlelight Inn in the neighbouring village of Bishopswood.
  • What a great Airbnb! A warm welcome into a special house, in a beautiful area. Church View is a really well thought out space, with lots of nice touches. The breakfast bits were fantastic and makes Christina's place great value. Definitely recommend!

    Harry2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Book this place! I’ve been on Airbnb for 10 years and this is my number 1 favorite stay ever. The home is immaculate and the hosts are the kindest and most elegantly accommodating. So grateful to travel and find gems like this. Worth so much more than they charge, you’ll be so happy you stayed with Christine. I’ll definitely be back soon for another visit!

  • Fantastic apartment with beautiful views at the top of an amazing Grade 2 historic building. Everything was as described and very clean. There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding areas which I would really recommend. Thank you to Christina for the recommendation of the Candlelight Inn - very cozy, cute local pub! It can get slightly chilly without central heating but there are a couple space heaters and an electric blanket. I would definitely come back and would recommend!

    Jordan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was perfect for our two night break away, easy to find and spotlessly clean. We were made to feel right at home and would definitely stay again, thank you!

    Jenn2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely, spacious and very well appointed with a superb view. The house itself is full of character and set in a very quiet location, so nothing to disturb your sleep. The hosts have left a plethora of information about local things to do. The village has no pub so it is a bit of a walk or a short car ride to find somewhere to eat but the kitchen in the apartment has more than sufficient facilities to self-cater. Lovely hosts with a lovely home - an Airbnb classic!

    Michael2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully beautiful home, with a lovely host who went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. The accommodation has everything you need, spotlessly clean and felt very homey and welcoming. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Had a lovely weekend stay with Carol and David. We got caught in Storm Jorge on the first night, but felt toasty and secure listening to the wind and rain in front of the log fire. Their garden is beautiful and they were fabulous hosts – fresh bread and cakes on our arrival. Our little dog loved playing with their dogs and walking through the muddy fields. Definitely recommend for a weekend escape.

    Jonathan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s place is at the end of a track. So there are no neighbours and the the outlook is over fields. Really lovely and peaceful. Carol was welcoming and I had everything I needed. There is a wonderful wood burner and good internet. The bed and duvet are really comfortable. The whole place was immaculate, I felt like I was the first guest. The accommodation is simple and tastefully decorated. Carol has an excellent eye for detail. Great location for exploring the area. Myself and dog were made very welcome.

  • Probably one of the best airbnbs I've stayed in. David was incredibly welcoming and helpful and the cabin itself was exactly as described - if not better. The fire was lit on my arrival and fresh bread, eggs and more were all put out. Could not recommend this stay more.

The two Donkeys were gorgeous and the dogs were delightful- Deborah always made sure we were ok with them if they were out so even if you're not particularly a dog person you'd be fine! We managed to cook full meals both nights using the equipment provided and snuggle up by the log burner. The village is lovely, the local pub (The Green Dragon) was great and there's a well equipped little local shop. If you're after an animal filled relaxing retreat then we wholeheartedly recommend staying with Deborah and Michael!!

  • I booked Rosemary and Pete's place for a much needed break for my parents. Thank you for the lovely warm welcome you gave to Mum and Dad. They were truly delighted with how stylish and well appointed the property was with everything they could possibly need. They had a wonderful time and raved about their perfect nights sleep in beautiful bed linen and the softest pillows! It all sounded lovely - I hope that I get a chance to visit myself sometime!

  • What a wonderful, wonderful place tucked away right in the heart of Ilminster. Rosemary and Pete have decorated Smallcote really stylishly and it’s so cosy that we just loved curling up on the sofa in the evening. There were lots of thoughtful touches, delicious local foodie bits and their communication was faultless before and throughout. Ilminster is a very cute little town and there’s a large Tesco around the corner for stocking up! Without a doubt one of the loveliest Airbnbs I’ve stayed in!

  • We had a wonderful short stay at Smallcote. It is a beautiful space to unwind in a lovely part of Somerset. Rosemary and Pete were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. We look forward to returning soon!

  • Smallcote was beautiful, peaceful yet close enough to pubs and restaurants for you not to drive!! Very clean and the little things make all the difference :)

  • Karen's place has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It's just like in the photos and the bed is super comfortable. We had a great meal at Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton St George. Thanks again, Karen :)

  • It is exactly like the pictures! Loved the little touches, bowl of fruit, shortbread and a bottle of cider from Perry’s which is 5 minutes up the road. The bed is comfy, a lovely living space, sparkling clean with every kind of tool you’d ever need in the kitchen. The WiFi is great (no drop outs, fast etc.) My only complaint if I was going to be picky is that the shower isn’t very powerful, but genuinely loved my stay.

    Lydia2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the loft. A cosy stylish space with beautiful walks from the doorstep. We spent a lovely day exploring Glastonbury just a 40-minute drive away.

Our cottage is located in a village on a quiet country lane popular with walkers, horse riders and cyclists. The village is located just off the A303 and the A358, near to the Blackdown Hills, an area of oustanding natural beauty. And near to the Somerset Levels. Ideal for breaking your journey if you are travelling to and from Cornwall. And ideal for a quiet time in the country. There are two pubs within walking distance. Both do excellent food (one closed on Mondays).
The room is located on the ground floor, at the back of the cottage with its own access. There is an ensuite shower room with toilet and wash basin. It is a barn style, light and airy, single storey room with two velux windows. A kettle, mugs and a variety of teas, coffees and hot chocolate is provided.
This part of Somerset is often overlooked. Visitors and holidaymakers drive through on their way to Devon or Cornwall. They are missing out on a beautiful part of the West Country. The unspoilt Blackdown Hills offer excellent walking opportunities. The nearby Somerset Levels are a haven for cyclists and for wildlife. The abundance of small village cafe's, often run by volunteers, make local touring a complete delight.
  • Anne & Tim are excellent hosts, they made me feel right at home. They have a wonderful space with lots of room and the parking was off the road and right outside the room I was staying in which made everything super easy! Breakfast in the morning was a lovely treat too. Thank you so much!

  • We had a lovely 1 night stay and Anne and Tim were attentive and very friendly hosts. We walked to The Bell pub and took a lovely dark, stumble home. The bed was comfy and it was very peaceful and quiet in the morning. Breakfast was very well received and a nice touch. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and indeed book again.

    Lucy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • You'll get a warm friendly welcome at Anne's place. There's a comfy bed to lay your head a nice shower room to freshen up and plenty of space to spread out and relax and TV as well. Breakfast in the morning will give most people a good start for the day, so come and stay for a very reasonable price.

Orchard Cottage is beautiful grade II listed house on the private drive to Dillington House. Inside it has been recently renovated to a high standard. There are three main bedrooms, one loft bedroom, and three bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, allowing easy access for those less able to cope with stairs (however there are one or two steps on the ground floor). The cottage has an open plan kitchen / dining room that is well equipped for those who enjoy cooking, and the dining table seats 10. There is a separate utility with washing facilities next door to the kitchen and a separate library / study area off the dining area. Next door is a spacious living room with a wood-burning stove, large flatscreen TV and comfy sofas. The house also has a garden, with a protected and well-lit outdoor dining area (right outside the kitchen), and a wood-fired hot-tub in the garden. There is private parking for three cars. The house’s rural location makes it a great escape for those looking to spend some time in the countryside, with plenty of pubs to walk / cycle to and things to see and do nearby, and convenient shopping in Ilminster is not far away.
BEDROOMS There are three main bedrooms and one loft room, all with deep mattresses, 400 thread count cotton bedding, indulgent mattress toppers and indulgent fluffy bathrobes. The ground floor bedroom has a superking-sized bed that can be separated into two singles and its own wet-room shower room. This room is a lovely room for anyone, but is especially well suited to those less able to navigate stairs, although there are two internal stairs on the ground floor so access is not entirely step-free. In the two main bedrooms upstairs, the first has a superking-sized double turned leg four-poster, and a bathroom with a beautiful freestanding nickel bath (as well as walk-in shower), the second can be arranged as superking-sized double or with twin singles and has a walk-in shower only. The fourth bedroom is a twin and is accessed only through the four-poster bedroom mentioned above, with which it also shares a bathroom, and so together these two rooms are ideally suited to a family with children. LIVING AREAS The kitchen / dining room is well equipped with an induction hob, oven, and there is a large fridge freezer with ice-machine in the nearby utility / larder. The dining table can seat 10 comfortably. The house also has a washer-dryer for any laundry that can’t wait until you get home. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove set into a large stone fireplace and is equipped with a 55” flatscreen internet-connected TV with Bluetooth soundbar and a Bluetooth DAB radio sound system. There is also a little library / study area for reading – or anyone who really must work! And there is a good-sized lawn with a wood-fired hot-tub, a charcoal bbq and a teak outdoor table with chairs in a sheltered sunken patio area directly outside the kitchen.
SETTING & LOCAL AREA Orchard Cottage is situated on the private drive to Dillington House, which is 100 metres or so further along the drive. As well as being a quiet road, the drive to Dillington House is a bridleway and footpath. It leads into Dillington Park, which is a large area of parkland ideal for walks and dogs, and onto a myriad of other walking and cycling routes. Nearby there are several pubs, such as the Dinnington Docks, Lord Poulett Arms, or Five Dials. We also recommend the micro-brewery at Stocklinch – Stocklinch Ales – which is open for visitors on Friday evenings after 7pm and Sunday lunchtimes. Barrington House, a National Trust house with gardens open to the public, is nearby, as is Dillington House. The Dennis Chinaworks in Shepton Beauchamp are also very close and worth a visit, for the tea rooms as much as anything else. There are several local cider producers whose orchards and presses are worth seeing, Perry’s Cider in Dowlish Wake being one, and Julian Temperley’s cider and cider brandy distillery over at Burrow Hill another. A little further away the beach at Lyme Regis and walks along the Jurassic coastline are 40mins or so to the South, and the Hauser and Wirth gallery near Bruton is 40 mins or so to the East.
  • Gorgeous cottage with beautiful interiors. Make sure you leave enough time to heat the hot tub, it’s worth it!

We would go back in a heartbeat.

Nothing bad to say about the place, would highly recommend to stay - I came with friends and there was so much space and the rooms so comfortable. • A comfortable and happy 7 weeks spent here. The hosts were fantastic. Warm and welcoming. The accommodation used to be the garage of the main home. It has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard and is fully equipped. It is accessed through a shared driveway with the main home. There is enough parking and turning space. The accommodation is private to the main house. The accommodation has double patio doors which back onto a private aspect of the garden. I was greeted with a box of chocolates on my first night. The host also met me in person on my first night and I always had my privacy respected. The accommodation was cleaned once a week in a private arrangement as I had intended to stay for 7 weeks as a mon to fri commuter from South Wales. I would recommend this place highly. It could easily house 2 or more guests.

Home from home for those seeking a little less formality, situated centrally in a Somerset market town where history, community atmosphere and all amenities are available on foot. Truly a great location for interesting days out, a real bubble in a busy world! Good for adventurers, work placement students and travelers. Room facilities include a wash hand basin & WiFi. On some occasions it may be possible to host more people on request. Strictly no extra guests unless booked.
This is my home so most unlisted facilities will be available on request such as iron & board, needle & thread or limited tool box for running repairs. I offer a self-catering environment, where appropriate food storage and cooking facilities are available. All I ask is that "if you use it, put it back. If you break it, tell me."
Two super markets, two pharmacies, take away restaurants and pubs all easily accessible on foot. Daily coach connection to London Hammersmith at the end of Silver Street. A local theatre, exceptional minster and other community groups make this town welcoming. Excursions to National Parks and places of interest within an hour by car.

The house is clean modernly decorated, with the added comfort of a log fire. The location is great, with excellent pubs in short and long walking distance, and a short car journey away. We particularly enjoyed our New Year's Day lunch at the Cotley Inn, after a misty drive down a long country lane. I would recommend staying at Yvette's to anybody looking for a lovely country break, but with all the modern comforts of walk in showers, Netflix, and pubs and shops close by.

  • We were so lucky to find this beautiful house for our family holiday. There is so much to do in the area, and Yvette is the perfect host. The house is very clean and comfortable, definitely the nicest place we have ever stayed on holiday. Thank you, Yvette!

  • The view of the Blackdown Hills is mesmerising, the house is beautiful and the location is wonderfully peaceful (but with plenty to do within a half hour drive). Highly recommended.

  • Yvette and Matt have created a beautiful house in a lovely setting. The house was perfect for our family of four and 1 dog, with plenty of walks on the doorstep and only 30min drive to the Jurassic coast. There is a really good pub 5 min walk away which does a superb Sunday lunch and has a really nice garden. I would happily recommend Yvette’s home to all friends and family.

  • Lovely retreat with in a nice safe area, hot tub was lovely and the cottage was immaculately presented. Mike is a host that likes to tailor your stay. He pre asked if the child we were taking is a boy or girl so they could provide some toys for the stay and a bed guard if needed.

  • The property is so much better than the pictures suggest and it looks lovely in the pictures. Even though it is attached to the hosts house it feels completely private and having exclusive use of the hot tub is wonderful. Definatley recommend if you are looking to stay in the area

  • The reviews for this lodge are amazing, and we certainly were not disappointed! My friend and I stayed for new year, along with her two children (one 4-year old, and one 4-week old by prior arrangement). We messaged regarding the baby and Michael and Caroline responded quickly and were very helpful. The directions given by Michael were clear and easy to follow. There is plenty of parking too, and Michael gave a very warm welcome and all the information we needed on arrival. The lodge has everything you may need, and is beautifully decorated. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax, and the information about the local area was very useful. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone wanting a calm and homely place to stay!

  • Well worth a visit. With plenty to do around the area and a central location for travelling further afield. Made to feel welcome with quick responses to our queries. Hot tub was lovely and warm and the little extras made all the difference.

  • Wow. This place is amazing. Comfortable, clean, modern yet welcoming. The extra touches with the cereal, bread, milk, butter, cider and more were very much appriciated as were the toys left out for my daughter. An amazing stay. Will 100% be back!

This cosy character cottage has 2 bedrooms both with King size beds, one bed can be made up as a twin. Situated on the edge of this picturesque village, surrounded by open countryside, Devon/Dorset borders and Jurassic coast at Lyme Regis (16 ml). Idea all year retreat with gas CH and wood burning stove. Pub 100m. Perry’s cider mill, with it’s farm shop and cafe. Beautiful countryside walks, cycle routes, golf course (2ml), NT properties. Easy access to the A303 and just 12 miles from the M5.
A well equipped kitchen, a dining room and comfortable sitting room. But if this all fails the pub is only 100 stumbling metres away.
The cottage with its renovated character accommodation, has full central heating and an inviting relaxing atmosphere ideal for that special holiday or weekend away. Situated on a quiet lane on the edge of this picturesque village, in the beautiful south Somerset area. There are some excellent walks nearby across the fields or on the quiet country lanes. Your well behaved dog (small/medium), will always be welcome, but please let us know before.
  • Suzy and Andrew's cottage is every bit as good as it looks. Clean, comfortable beds, characterful, lovely to sit in front of wood burner with logs and kindling provided. We would certainly visit again. Communication was excellent, the Lemon Drizzle cake was delicious and the Cider was an added bonus. Suzy really makes an effort to engage and make the stay a good one.

  • Lovely clean comfortable cottage as described - you won't be disappointed ! - friendly pub in the village - good food in or as a takeaway ... well equipped cottage , comfy beds and lovely bed linen !!

  • This is a cracking cottage set in a gorgeous location. Can’t speak highly enough about how good Suzy and Andrew were as hosts, the cottage was not only spotless on arrival but we were greeted with homemade lemon drizzle cake and some local cider! Beautiful surroundings to explore and not far from the coast either which is a bonus when the sun (finally) comes out! Would highly recommend staying here, we hope to be back for sure.

  • Scrumpy cottage is a real home from home, offering a beautifully appointed, tastefully decorated, comfortable home. The accommodation set up suited our needs perfectly. We also appreciated the extra special little touches. Both beds were supremely comfortable, with sumptuous bedding. The sofas in the lounge were also very comfortable. Both bathrooms were immaculate and tastefully fitted out. The kitchen had all mod cons with a handy boot room. The outdoor space was a lovely fully enclosed courtyard handy for our little doggy. Unloading and loading the car and parking were easy. The utter peace, tranquility and nighttime darkness gave us the perfect start to our holiday. I truly believe we have found our perfect stop over ! Suzy was the perfect hostess, nothing was too much trouble for her.

  • Amazing cosy cottage with everything you need. Cider and cake on arrival. Beautiful place to stay!

    Tracey2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in the cottage. From the start to end this was the simplest air BnB experience. Great communication, simple check in, a lovely warm welcome with local cider and a home baked cake (which is incredible!). The cottage is better than the pics, a real find. It is very homely and cosy. The fire was excellent, beautifully furnished. The beds were really comfy and the place always felt warm. The local pub is excellent and they were very welcoming. Situated in a lovely part of Somerset and close to lots of attractions and things to do. Would 100% stay again and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking.

  • Beautiful cosy cottage in a great location. Lovely walks nearby and the cider tasting and cafe were a treat.

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a snug and cosy cottage, each of the 2 bedrooms have wc and shower facilities which is a real plus. Big squashy sofas to relax on and the whole feel of the place was nice, clean, welcoming and spacious, a home from home.
