Inside the Buffer Zone of Nicosia
This is not a regular city walk, but a passage through a town frozen in time. It will give you an insight into the current situation of the Buffer Zone “Green Line” off the beaten track, on streets that are hard to discover without the experience of a local guide. You will see the Venetian walls and how they form a border around the old city, so unusual that once seen on a map will never be forgotten as a design synonymous with the unique shape of this ancient fortification. On our walk we will explore the south side of the city and follow the infamous “Green line” that cuts through the center, separating the city into southern and northern sections. This division has kept the two major communities, of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots apart for more than four decades. Our journey begins at the Ledra Palace hotel known in its era as the largest and most majestic hotel in the capital. You will witness life having evolved along either side of this schism, something once impossible to do until recent agreements between the two sides to open border crossings. We will explore Ledra street located at the heart of the aforementioned walled city now once again rekindled to one of the most popular pedestrian commercial streets accented by abandoned buildings reclaimed by nature through decades of lost time scarred by bullet holes, military outposts and barricades.

Divided City, a journey through time in North Nicosia
Join me on a journey through time in the last divided city of North Nicosia, strolling the back streets of the old city feels like dropping into an earlier era. Our walk through the medieval city starts in the district of Arab Ahmet, this area was one of the original 12 quarters as they existed shortly after the Ottoman conquest of Nicosia in 1570, where Armenian Cypriots had been concentrated since the Ottoman conquest, the entire area is imbued with a heady sense of yesteryear and is one of Nicosia's most interesting neighbourhoods to stroll through. We shall visit the Armenian church, first thought to have been established in the 13th century as the Abbey of Our Lady of Tyre and was handed over to the island’s Armenian community in the 15th century. As we continue our path we shall stop at the Arab Ahmet Mosque followed by the Buyuk Khan, Cyprus’ best preserve example of Ottoman caravanserai architecture. We will take a small break and sit down with a Turkish coffee and baklava as the call to prayer echoes and soak up the merging of old and new that permeates this side of the walled city. We continue our walk through the market area and visit the most prominent landmark in the old city, the Cathedral of St. Sophia, today called Selimiye Mosque. Our journey ends at the Indoor Market, you will have some time to explore all the amazing local produce before our return.

Limassol City Walk, Eat, Drink, Share Stories with a local
Let me tell you my version of the story of Limassol, traveling through time and landmarks walking around my home town. We will meet at ‘Gellatissimo’ and during introductions I'll treat you to a scoop of ice-cream. Your choice of flavor will tell me a couple of things about you. Starting with a walk around the Medieval Castle courts we head for a coffee shop nearby to enjoy our morning coffee, the way locals do. You will be introduced to the *ritual* of having a Cypriot coffee. From cooking and preparing tips and tricks to visualizing your future in the sentiment shapes at the bottom of the cup. Lots of anecdotes and stories about the local culinary culture and life style. During the walk you will get the opportunity for some shopping if you want or visit local artists’ studios that are on our way. Whatever route we take we will end up at the lunch place. A little kebab shop that was founded back in the early 1900's! This is where the fun begins! Starting with an aperitif based on local distil we will order local charcoal grilled Cypriot street food which we will share in meze style. The ritual this time involves a Libation, therefore your meal is accompanied by a local wine or a wine-based cocktail!... and more story telling ;)

Underwaterjourney-snorkeling trip
Lets start the underwater exploration. There are two really spectacular locations we would take you to. At the beginning we would come to pick you up from your accommodation and then we would drive towards Capo Greco area. First place is located in Ayia Napa. There we would visit brand new underwater museum with around 93 statues. It resembles underwater forest, first of its kind in the world. There is a need to swim 150-200 meters but we have a buoy so you can hold in case of need for a rest. After that we would go to another location located about 15 minutes driving a car. Second stop itself is so beautiful with azul blue waters and some colourful fishes but you will have a big chance to spot turtles as well. Green Turtle and the loggerhead Caretta Caretta are the one residing in Cyprus. Here is also small underwater museum with little statues. Statues also attracts the fishes so overall experience is astonishing. And then we would drive you back to your accommodation. In order to have lifelong memory, underwater pictures and videos would be taken for you with gopro camera. Point to note: In this snorkeling trip we do not use the boat, we swim to both locations as they are easily accessible from the shore. We can pick you up from Larnaca, Ayia Napa or Protaras. Regarding the other locations upon agreement for some extra charge.
