20min from Annapolis Royal with it's vibrant seasonal Farmers Mkt., Gift & Antique Shops, Restaurants, Arts & Culture. 5min to Port Royal Habitat., 25min to Upper Clements. But really, why go anywhere?. Everyone loves Jimmy's Cottage. This place is good for your soul. Amazing view of The River & The North & South Mountains that form The Valley. Access to beach is at end of lot , be amazed at the high & low tides., hunt for sea glass & watch seals. My place is good for solos, cpls &, families.
Master bedroom is on the main floor. 2 other small bedrooms are in the converted attic. Please note that The Cottage maximum is 4 adults (there is only one bathroom (off the kitchen) and the bedrooms in the attic are just 2 small rooms with beds (see pics). It gets hot upstairs in the summer, and chilly in the winter, but there are fans and heaters in both rooms. Hot Tub back up and running :)
Pls note this Cottage is in Port Wade ( Postal Code points to Granville Ferry)
  • We are return guests to this lovely cottage. Such a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. Sandra is a gem to deal with!

    Nicole2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Was a perfect little cottage for a quiet girls weekend away, hot tub & wood stove were definitely a hit! Hosts are amazing & super friendly, can't wait to come back!

    Rebecca2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jimmy’s cottage most definitely exceeded our expectations. It was so cute and cozy, exceptionally clean and tidy. The location is spot on with many places to Hike and adventure close by. The cottage overlooks the ocean, providing a great view when dining or relaxing in the hot tub outside. Sandra and Jim were great hosts, I could text them at any point and receive a reply very quickly. They were so kind to provide complementary drinks to get us started on our vacay, and a smart TV and wifi(with good connection!!) to enjoy as well. Overall, a 5 stars is definitely deserved here. Thank you for helping us make our weekend so wonderful!

    Victoria2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, quiet, wood stove and hot tub.....need I say more

    William2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this place- quite the view! The very friendly touches of the cottage make all the difference for a weekend getaway. We will be delighted to return.

    Jennifer2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a long weekend in the winter and it was so cozy! The woodstove is great and really warms up the whole cottage! Sandra and Jim left a really great supply of wood and kindling for us. The hot tub under the stars, overlooking the ocean was dreamy. We had such a lovely time. Get over to Pension Pies if you can (roadside sign on your way back towards Annapolis Royal/Halifax) or stop by their stall at the market!! Swoon over those pies and scones, I'm tellin' ya. This cottage was lovely - plus, great value!

    Robyn2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My parents had a great stay at Sandra and Jim’s cottage! Loved the hot tub and woodstove, and just a short drive to Annapolis Royal.

    Jocelyn2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Amazing time. You can’t ask for better hosts, invisible and completely accommodating. We will absolutely be returning.

Our cottage overlooking Annapolis Royal is the perfect setting to create your own adventure, whether you are exploring the Cradle of Canada, researching your ancestry, enjoying the outdoors or looking for the perfect forever home. You might even catch a glimpse of a seal! Our Nova Scotia Tourism registration number is RYA2020-000135.
One private bedroom with a queen-size bed and a queen-size sofabed in the living room (not private). A truly unique setting, first row to watch the tide come in or out, and to keep the million-dollar unobstructed view, please watch out for your dog and kids. We are right on the water, in the Annapolis Basin, there is no real beach to stroll in, and the currents are quite strong, so we don't recommend swimming. We are 2 minutes away from Annapolis Royal in the Village of Granville Ferry, so we are surrounded by our friendly neighbours. However, you will feel on your own in the backyard. The newly renovated cottage is a charming place with the quirks of all old houses, and that in itself makes it unique but not the Ritz.
The Cradle of Canada, vibrant community in the summertime, nice restaurants in the area, and lots of day trips, like whale watching, canoeing, great hikes, tons of history. As well, you can quietly stay at home watching the tide come in or go out.
  • We had a wonderful stay. Pros: great location (easy access to the Atlantic and to town, beautiful views (we took a gazillion pictures), cottage was unique (didn't feel like we were staying in a hotel), helpful hosts (little touches everywhere).

  • Best air bnb I’ve ever stayed in. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place for a little romantic getaway. Valentina was lovely and couldn’t have made our stay any more comfortable

    Mary2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming hosts , very adorable cottage.

    Dianne2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fascinating cottage on a very active river - the tide’s working 24/7!

    Bruce2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a great place too spend a quite weekend. This is the place. Our stay was very enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

    Louis2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place to stay! The cottage is spacious, clean and has everything you need. Pictures don't reflect how remarkable the location is, right on the bank of the river. Easily the most special Airbnb I have experienced

    Warren2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say but STAY HERE! It's a lovely, charming, little bit retro, little bit shabby chic, relaxing space with a beautiful, interesting ever-changing view. Private and quiet. We loved it!

    Caroline2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Even though the power went out with the hurricane, we had the best time! Plenty of board games and the view is stunning from the cottage! Valentina was extremely welcoming and even helped us out with feeding us and supplying coffees when the power went out! The cottage is nice and clean, and it's in a nice quiet spot! I would definitely book to go again and would recommend to anyone!

I may be biased, but it is one of the prettiest communities in Nova Scotia! You will love every second of sitting on our deck listening to the river and watching eagles and osprey flying over head!
  • Absolutely stunning home with lots of character! Lindsay thought of everything, made us feel right at home! The hot tub and sauna made for lovely evenings under the stars!

    Jill2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious, clean and stylish home, it is actually much larger than it looks from the road. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was extremely well equipped (coffee, tea and creamers provided), did not get to use the hot tub so will have to save that for another trip. Furniture is stylish and great for hanging out (separate lounge area and another room for watching TV). Wifi was strong and reliable. Communication with the host was quick and responsive. We were a group of 7 women who thoroughly enjoyed our getaway weekend. It is a short walk into Annapolis Royal and Lindsay had some good local tips for us. We had dinner at the Founders Dining room, go there, you won’t regret it! Thanks so much for sharing your special home with us - 5 stars!!!

    Teressa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely older home is perfect for a family or friends getaway! The view was stunning and our stay was great. The house had everything you could possibly need and more. Lindsay was so responsive and helpful, it made for a stress-free girls' weekend!

    Erin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique, special place to take a break in! Lindsay was very quick to respond to any questions I had prior to arrival. The layout of the house was my favorite. It was extremely clean and was also easy to clean before check out. A very comfortable house to spend time with your loved ones. The hot tub was a special feature that we 3 very much enjoyed. The hardest and most difficult part of our stay, was leaving. We hope to return to Granville House again!

    Joelene2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful house with an amazing host. Lots of unique little touches and wonderful amenities. My significant other and I came for a two night stay to get away. We brought our food with us and had a lovely stay-cation. We hardly left the house. It was perfect. Clean, comfortable, had everything we needed for comfort and for preparing meals and the hot tub and sauna were so relaxing. We will be back.

    Ian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • House was very clean and bright. Beds were comfortable and enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed for making dinner and host was very easy to deal with.

    Nick2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and Lindsay is great! We will definitely be back!

    Krystal2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We drove 2 .5 hours to get to Lindsay's bnb and we were not disappointed! It looked just like the pictures, a quiet getaway from the city. Lindsay was also very accommodating and everything was clean and ready to use. A lot of sweet touches, including a handwritten card from the host and a basket. Back to reality (boo!) but we will be back soon. :)

  • This has to be my favorite Airbnb to date. Everything from the amenities to the location was absolutely perfect. The views from the living area windows are phenomenal and was mesmerizing to watch the ever changing tides. The entire home seemed new and was spotless! Every convenience of home was found easily and then some. Many thoughtful amenities including binoculars to watch the birds, brochures/maps, fire pit, nice patio area with table and chairs. Very roomy with two bedrooms and two gorgeous full baths. The upstairs King bed has to be the most comfortable luxurious bed I have ever slept in. Satellite TV, WiFi ( spotty at times) Landline phone, washer/dryer, grill, fireplace and so much more. And the view, did I mention the view!? Such a private location but close enough to Digby for food and shopping. Chris was a super cool host and was such a pleasure to met. Such a fabulous value stay. If your dates are available, do not hesitate to book, you will regret it if you don’t!!!

    Mare2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I went to Digby primarily for whale watching, which was promptly cancelled due to weather. However, this Airbnb made up for it and turned out to a highlight of the trip. Very well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Thoughtful touches abound and you can't beat a peaceful yet convenient location.

    Katie2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House was amazing! You won’t be disappointed if you stay here! Chris and Terry are responsive and very friendly and have built a luxurious home! The views from the deck are postcard worthy. We were sad to leave and plan to return again!

    Mark2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House is located on a secluded bay, which is characterized by the Tide. Bald eagles, hummingbirds and cormorants can be seen there every day. The house has an exceptional decor, very thoughtful in every respect, with modern appliances and exceptionally tasteful decoration with artistic aspiration. The view of the sea is "awesome". The highlight, however, is the owners Chris and Terry, who took great care of us during the Dorian storm and subsequent two-day power outage.

    _Erich2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. The location was beautiful, peaceful and very clean and we'll decorated. Very easy to feel at home. Exceeded our expectations a great deal!

    Heather2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This home is in a private location with nature all around and has great outdoor space as well as indoor space. The view is fabulous. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and have high-end bedding to top it off. The home is very stylish and feels welcoming. Chris is a gracious host. She is just next door if you need anything, but provides lots of privacy to renters. It is by far the nicest Airbnb that I have rented and is an excellent value. It is very well located for exploring the area. This home is a gem!

    Lorien2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a beautiful week at the beach house, where do I begin. This place is one of the most beautiful relaxing places I have been to. The house, the view, everything about this place is perfect. Chris and Terry are amazing hosts they make sure you have everything you need and more. If you are planning on booking here you definitely need to book more then a few days to make sure you are able to enjoy the tranquility of it. The town of Digby is only a few minutes drive and has everything you need. We made sure to book another week for next year before we left and look forward to enjoying this little piece of heaven again.

    Cheryl2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place on the water. Home was beautiful, clean and offered all the necessary kitchen supplies to make a good meal. Lovely, quiet spot to enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

World famous whale watching excursions, local craft galleries, hiking, pretty villages, quiet beaches, thousands of birds and friendly, welcoming people! A walk on the Fundy Beach each day is one of the highlights of Sandy Cove and we highly recommend it. The tides are ever changing and the view is never the same! 'The Neck & Islands' are a step back in time, with wonderful old homes built in the 1840's and still lived in. Many families have been here for generations, since the British Empire Loyalists arrived in the 1700's. History is everywhere! Check out https://digbyneckandislands.ca/ for more information about the area.
  • The perfect place to stay! Such a beautiful space, spectacular view, great recommendations for places to visit in the surrounding area. Check out T.R's falls if you're feeling adventurous, and to Sandy Cove beach to watch the sunset as David recommended to us, you won't regret it!

    Ashley2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lewis Cabin is not only a great place to stay on the Digby Neck, but probably one of the nicest private stays in the entire province. Be sure to give yourself time to watch the sunset from Sandy cove Beach and enjoy a cosy night in at the cabin. David and Sarah have captured Nova Scotia at its finest.

    Ben2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were sad to leave this place, as the second half of our trip was supposed to be in Cape Breton. It was so lovely! Plenty of space for two people, a really nice functioning kitchen with all the necessary tools and such (we cooked a lot—stewed apples with local fruit and their provided honey and spices, locally caught fish, etc...) and tons of cute thoughtful touches throughout the space. There’s a Crokinole game hanging by the TV. Definitely recommend looking that up. My husband and I want to get one now. We would come back just to stay here!

    McKenzie2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage and a spectacular view of the harbour.could sit there all day watching the water. We'll definitely be returning

    Kenton2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The property is quiet, nicely decorated and has a great view of the bay. It was clean, very comfortable and had everything you needed (including barbecue and beach chairs). Particularly noteworthy is the stove in the living area. When we arrived we were personally welcomed, everything was explained and any outstanding questions could be clarified directly. But otherwise communication was always uncomplicated. We would book this accommodation again.

    Claudia2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a snazzy space, chocked full of amenities, a comfy bed and thoughtful space design. We loved dining on the covered front porch with a bird's eye view of the water and surrounding area. David created a great space for a getaway!

    Karen2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cozy cabin with a fabulous view! Great hosts who communicated well. I high recommend this place!

    Brenda2019-09-13T00:00:00Z

  • We loved our stay here! Amazing spot inside and out. Love the way it was decorated and the hosts were amazing, always quick to respond when I had a question! Highly recommend this cabin/chalet!!!

    Cl2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Everything you could want in a place to get away. A little further off the beaten path than we expected but very quiet in fall and amazing fall colours everywhere we looked! We would definitely stay here again, so much to do and see within a 2hr drive and only 20min to Annapolis Royal for groceries or wandering historic sites and the waterfront. Had no issues with the internet data cap (despite watching election results for 4+ hrs). Coffee maker is a multi option one cup (you can do k-cups or it has a brew basket for ground coffee) and a small teapot also available. Amy was very quick to respond to questions and the guide she provides when you book was very helpful (with directions, details and recommendations).

    Erica2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage, would highly recommend!

    Jenna2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location. Spectacular views. Immaculately kept cabin. Perfect for a relaxing getaway!!! Amy was super helpful and communicative. I'd highly recommend!

    Ami2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. It looked just like the photos. Waking up by the lake was beautiful and the atmosphere was very peaceful. We couldn't have had a more relaxing stay. Amy was great at communicating before and during our stay. She provided several recommendations for food and local activities. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen and pantry had everything we needed and we even played a mean game of Life. We wish the cottage was much closer to us in Maryland. Thanks for everything Amy.

    Kimmie2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional spot. Everything was as advertised or better. We stayed just after hurricane Dorian and Amy was extremely communicative about the power situation and let us know as soon as it was back on. 10/10 would stay again.

    Luke2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tall Pine Cove is absolutely amazing. It has everything you could ever need and more. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back next year and stay much longer. Truly the best getaway and a place for relaxation.

    Allison2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Amy’s beautiful cottage on Grand Lake was the best way to end Summer 2019. We were so impressed by the stylish and comfortable space. You have everything you need..The lake was amazing, we enjoyed a few canoe excursions and our dog loved being able to swim. Close by to the cafes, restaurants, shops and more in Annapolis Royal (but it’s certainly hard to leave the cottage!). I can’t recommend Amy’s cottage enough it was perfect! We hope to return next summer.

  • This lakefront spot is truly a gem. The home is exceptionally clean an outfitted with comfortable furniture and an amazing tub! We visited in October so couldn't take advantage of the pool, but the deck overlooking the lake with the fire pit was magical and I didn't want to leave it. Sharon is a wonderful, considerate host who is available at a moment's notice.

  • The Hidden Gem is such a special place. A great place when you really need some RnR. We spent two nights there and totally took advantage of the amenities the first night (Mother Nature had other plans for our second night with hurricane Dorian) however Sharon was all too quick to continually check in on us and make sure we weren’t in need of anything, even went above and beyond our last morning with hot water for us to have coffee delivered to the door and offered to feed us breakfast at their home. We have already started looking at future dates, and can not wait to return to the hidden gem. :)

    Sheila2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place will not disappoint. It is extremely quiet and peaceful, the pool is absolutely lovely, and the view is stunning, especially the sun rise and sun set over the water. Sharon went out of her way to add a personal touch to make our visit even more special. Truly a wonderful place to stay!

    Melanie2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hidden gem. Our family had a great time playing the pool, enjoying the waterfront patio, and watching the humming birds and bald eagles. Highly recommend.

  • This place is truly perfect if you want a beautiful, relaxing vacation! The view as you drive up to the side of the cottage will take your breath away! Our whole family LOVED having our morning coffee on the deck down on the lake...the lake is so calm at times it looks like a mirror...the sounds of nature as you breathe in the morning air are perfect for recharging your energy... We also LOVED spending time in the beautiful pool as a family and taking the paddle boat out for a few spins was super fun. Ending our days with a bonfire lakeside as a family was also a huge highlight for us! Sharon is a wonderful host. We are a French Acadian family and were there over the Acadian celebrations on August 15th. Sharon had sent us the itinerary of the local activities for that day. We made our way down to the “Tintamarre” and free concert in the evening. What a fun experience! The whole community of Clare sure knows how to show their Acadian pride!! Sharon had also recommended a restaurant with authentic Acadian cuisine in the neighboring community of Saulnierville, “La Cuisine Robichaud”. It did not disappoint. Delicious food and very generous portions! Overall we had a WONDERFULLY MEMORABLE family vacation and would not hesitate for one minute to return to Sharon’s property! In fact, we truly hope to be able to return some day! Thank you Sharon and David! This was exactly what our family needed this year! Having been diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of the year and going through chemo and radiation was a pretty trying time for me and my whole family...but being able to come together as a family in such a beautiful and peaceful location was perfect! Thank you for sharing your “hidden gem” with us! It was a pleasure meeting both of you! A la prochaine!

    Lynn2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Hidden Gem was all we expected and more. There were so many thoughtful little touches like balloons for my daughter's birthday and a map to the best fishing spot for her boyfriend, coffee, bottled water and a little basket of toiletries for things one was bound to forget (which we did ha ha!). We felt spoiled with the private pool (80 degrees!) and gazebo and only wish we had a few more days to enjoy the peace! We hope to come back again next year! Thanks so much for hosting us! :) Scott, Lurinda, Kailee and Jeremy

  • This little gem was exactly what the Dr. Ordered...no literally! We arrived for 4 nights just as the Covid-19 pandemic was taking hold. Jay was so thoughtful to have done extra cleaning and sanitation before we arrived and even left extra disinfectant supplies to make us feel comfortable during such a crazy time in the world. Jay is a very gracious host that had some awesome treats waiting for us!! Very well stocked kitchen and even toiletry products incase we forgot the essentials. We absolutely loved our staycation and can't wait to come back in the summer! Time your morning expresso or latte (great machine provided) around the sunrise...they are breathtaking! Thanks again Jay!! :)

  • We loved this little spot! It is tiny and perfect. Tastefully decorated and full of many extras in the kitchen, which we wish were included in every Airbnb. Gorgeous view, private and comfortable. Jason was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

  • The Lily Pad was everything we’d hoped for and more! Perfect weekend getaway with our pup. I highly recommend and we’re hoping to be back soon!

  • Very charming home with everything you could possibly need for a great stay and really great hosts.

  • 10/10 would stay again!! This space was carefully thought out, with everything you need. We enjoyed a bonfire which was a real treat. And our dog loved it too!!

  • I cannot use enough words to describe how awesome this place was. I had great expectations based on the listing, but they were surpassed when I arrived. I think when the concept of Airbnb was thought of, this matches the model!

    Lawrence2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. Very few homes have made me feel as comfortable, relaxed and energized ! Great local hiking trails, FULLY equipped kitchen which was a dream to cook in. I’m usually not a fan of shower stalls, but that shower is a DREAM. Our pups were so happy! We had the best vacation and would go back anytime. I’m sure this will be a hard spot to book because it’s so great. THANK YOU!

    Ashley2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is amazing! We got to meet the hosts - lovely folks. Beautiful view. Nicely decorated and organized. So many thoughtful touches in Mama’s Lily Pad. We especially loved the beautiful dishes and mugs! The kitchen is wonderfully equipped. Bed was comfortable. Very cozy!

The locals once called it "The City" Dark Harbour is its name. Enjoy peace, serenity and beautiful sunsets! This cabin is nestled around the bend on the beach of Dark Harbour Pond. Fully accessible by vehicle when the tide is down. When the water rises you can enjoy complete solitude or throw the kayak in and go for a paddle.
This is an "off the grid" cabin on the beach in Dark Harbour, Grand Manan. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping couch to accommodate up to 7 people comfortably. We have recently installed a rainwater collection tank although there is Fresh Mountain spring water flowing near by. You will be surprised to find indoor bathroom facilities. These include a solar shower and toilet! It's rustic, cozy and beautiful! There is no power, other than solar and battery powered lights. Hence the rustic nature of this location. *we are continually working towards comforts of home to serve you better. But for now the beauty and serenity of this place will be enough to make your trip to Grand Manan the most memorable vacation spot yet!
The road to Dark Harbour is winding with quick turns and very high cliffs. Please take care whilst driving. We are just 5 minutes to the convenience / liquor store in the village of Castalia. About 10 minutes from the Ferry landing. All other sites and locations are within 30mins away. The island is only 21miles long so getting around is a piece of cake.
  • Very quiet, clean and serene! We enjoyed our weekend stay and plan to come back!

    Chantal2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful off the grid Airbnb perfect for getting away, enjoying the nature and a nice cozy evening by the fire place after exploring the island. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway. Brenda and Jennifer went over and above to make sure we were well taken care of. Had a great time and can’t wait to come back one day.

    Al2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had no problems planning our outing around high tide to plan our outings, and felt very comfortable parking our vehicle in the driveway during high tide. There are a few things that required us to do differently because of the cottage being off grid; however nothing that made our stay unbearable. You cannot drink the water that is coming out of the taps however the owners provide plenty of drinking water. The refrigerator is small so bring coolers with ice. There is a small TV with a DVD player and lots of board games but the best part is being able to walk the rocky beach.

    Una2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place will change your life in a mystical way, if you let it.

    Jay2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in early October. Jennifer’s mom met us there and showed us everything we needed to know about the place. We quickly learned to adjust with the tides and parked next to the camp or on the road as needed. Beds were very comfortable, and in spite of being off the grid, the solar panel provided all the electricity we needed, and there was plenty of drinking water provided. Grand Manan is a beautiful place and Dark Harbour is one of its unique spots with lots of history as well. We enjoyed using the kayaks that are there to explore the harbor. We were impressed with how comfortable and cozy the place was. The only thing some might find challenging is the shower situation. There is a stall in the bathroom with a shower bag that you fill up with warm water. The toilet is like a camper toilet and easy to use. We loved our time there in Dark Harbour, and found Jennifer and her mother’s place to be an exceptional value for a beautiful spot.

    Brian & Sherrie2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot in Dark Harbour! Jennifer and Brenda were amazing hosts and the cabin was great! We weathered through hurricane Dorian but were all set because the place is solar powered. It’s away from the busier side of the island so it’s a nice little spot to really enjoy the stars and hear the sounds of nature.

    Kaeley2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Everything was great! Jennifer was amazing to deal with!

    Dana2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cozy spot in an absolutely gorgeous location. It is very secluded, dark and quite. We stayed up late one night and watched as the tide come in while star gazing. One night it rained and the rain tapping on the tin roof made the whole atmosphere super cozy. Bed was very comfortable and the owner was accommodating, letting us bring our dog and providing things like hot water. We loved our stay! The only thing we had a problem with was the shower situation at the cabin. We ended up at a campground for a hot shower after hiking all day!

Small private lakefront cottage. Secluded property next to the beautiful Ellenwood Provincial Park, full of hiking/walking trails. Rustic, and undergoing minor renovations but a very cozy, clean place to stay. The Lake is clean and great for swimming! Full kitchen with most everything, an outdoor fire pit for nice nights, and a piano for rainy days. The bbq is in rough shape but still gets good in hot! The Primary heat of the space is a wood stove (See add. info).
Secluded and private, with no other lake lots or camps in direct view. Central location, 10 minute drive to town, as well as 10 minute drive to beaches (Port Maitland). Primary heating is wood heat. If you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with wood heat, please ask questions before booking to find out if the place is right for you! :) SPECIAL NOTE: On the weekend of August 17th 2019 the property will host a large event. Depending on the weather, the lawn may be a little beatdown from foot traffic for a week or to prior.
Quiet road, with mostly seasonal cottages. Provincial Park provides great wild life and seclusion.
  • Was sad to leave. What an amazing spot, just a short drive from town but completely secluded, beautiful view of lake, great outdoor space and a nice cozy fire heated cabin. Piano was an awesome bonus for me. Andrew was quick to respond, and very friendly and helpful.

  • This adorable cottage with an unbeatable view was the perfect location for our 2 couple family getaway. The house was warm and cozy, comfortable and peaceful. We slept like rocks in the comfortable beds! The house was clean and well set up with lots of homey touches. By far, one of the best parts of this experience was Mike and Bonnie themselves. Funny, accommodating, and generous, they made us feel like old friends coming to stay, not strangers. They even helped us get our US money exchanged for Canadian. They truly went above and beyond. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed.

  • This is "One Stop Shopping" at it's best! Whatever your looking for, this listing has it all. It is romantic, stylish and as complete as you will find. The location of the rental, on this wonderful island, will astound you. If I had one piece of advice to pass on it would be that you book this for longer than your considering because you will not want to give it up when it comes time to leave. Thanks again to Debrah and Charlie ( hosts supreme ) but I have to leave this review now to see if I can fit a return trip in the next couple weeks ;>}]

  • It's difficult to think who could possibly come away from a stay at the Red Herring Cottage anything less than happy and rested. Such a tasteful, elegant, and comfortable cottage with unrivaled views and easy access to lovely trails and beaches. Top marks to Deborah and Charlie, who were tirelessly gracious and attentive and made us feel at home right away. 10/10 would recommend this spot for anyone looking to reconnect with nature, have a romantic getaway with someone special, or take a break from the over-stimulating mainland world.

    Maggie2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • I am now convinced that Red Herring Cottage, and Grand Manan, represents everything that is great in this world. The stunning views, adventurous hiking trials, and friendly locals make this a must stay. My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at Red Herring Cottage and Debbie and Charlie welcomed us with open arms... literally. The cottage was equipped with a full kitchenette, snacks, and even a bottle of wine for us. The exquisite architecture and interior design of Red Herring Cottage–paired with the high-end finishes and bedding feels like you're staying at a five-star hotel. The beautiful floor to ceiling windows overlook Pettes Cove and is accentuated by Swallowtail Lighthouse. Spend a few moments lounging on the many adirondack chairs and you will be greeted by the abundant marine wildlife of the Bay of Fundy. All-in-all, the Red Herring Cottage was a trip of a lifetime, and that's not an understatement.

    Craig2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough wonderful things about our three night stay at The Red Herring Cottage. Deborah greeted us with open arms (literally) and we could not get over the personal touches that she added. A gorgeous flower bouquet and chilled prosecco to welcome us on our first night of our honeymoon, and local and honey and bread for breakfast were just a couple of the little details that made us feel so welcome. The cottage is GORGEOUS with an amazing view of the Swallow Tail light and very comfortable for the two of us to lounge, cook casual dinners, and just relax. The cottage was a bit closer to the main residence than I had imagined but we still felt private, and in fact only saw our hosts when Deborah brought us fresh blueberries. I'm a bit of a clean freak so I was pleased to see that this cottage was immaculate upon our arrival. All in all a really lovely retreat for a couple looking to get away and just "chill" and with lovely hosts.

    Amy2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah was so welcoming and gracious we felt at home instantly! Her cottage is beautifully designed and a joy to be in. The view out the window wall is stunning! We spent four nights there and would have stayed a full week if we could have. It was our sixth visit to the island. We love to hike and explore and there's no end to it there. I highly recommend staying there!

    Mark2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Red Herring Cottage. Charlie and Deborah were so thoughtful and friendly. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, best quality, and had everything we needed, including many thoughtful details like up-to-date magazines, a bluetooth speaker, flashlights, and binoculars. A walking trail passes right in front of the cottage, and Deborah gave us tips on other places to hike on the island. This cottage offers a perfect retreat.

    Hannah2015-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed a week at the Red Herring cottage and everything was great! The house is like the pictures. It's beautiful, warm, welcoming and comfortable ... even in small details. Guests waiting for us when we arrived to welcome us and make us go around the owner. Throughout our stay they were good advice (things to see and eat, hiking to do ...) and discrete. Direct access to the beach allows us to go see the waves (and sometimes seals!) More closely. Gorgeous views and 2 chairs at the end of the year allowed us to appreciate even more the surveys and sunsets! The island is lovely (as the locals). We'd stayed another week if it was possible! It is a splendid place to discover! Deborah Charlie and thank you for your welcome!

An elegant turn of the century Victorian home, with wrap around veranda. Beautiful garden, and proximity to the world renowned Bay of Fundy tides, whale watching, Acadian shore of Nova Scotia. Breakfast included.
Weymouth was founded in 1783 by United Empire Loyalists, (Americans who were on the losing side of the American Revolution, and resettled in Canada). Next door are French speaking Acadians who settled this region after being expelled from their homes in other parts of Atlantic Canada
  • Only stayed for one quick evening, but really enjoyed Debra & Scott's hospitality. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, but also were considerate of my need for rest after a long day on the road. Would stay again!

Your hosts live just minutes away...and are always willing to answer your questions about the area.
This cottage is located on a quiet lane in a small fishing village. Our Bay of Fundy tides are famous for being the highest in the world. You can see the dramatic difference between high and low tides at Beautiful Cove, just a few minutes walk from the Cottage.
  • My partner and I can't say enough good things about this cottage, but I will try. The setting is outstanding: a wind-battered coast in the middle of the ocean. We were here in the fall on a wet weekend where the giant water facing windows and wood stove made it wonderfully cozy. I can only imagine that it would be equally spectacular on a beautiful summer day. The cottage itself is the most well-stocked Airbnb that we have ever stayed at. Coffee, spices, a fridge full of essentials, toiletries, and homemade oatmeal cookies and muffins! If you forget something it likely won't matter because Chris and Andy will have stocked it. Finally, Chris and Andy were very accommodating. They came to meet us shortly after we arrived to give us the lay of the land and to point out where we could find treats for their horse and donkey in case we wanted to go meet them. Can't recommend staying here enough. You won't be disappointed.

  • There were so many wonderful amenities (food, kitchen gear, rain ponchos, reading material about current local and historical events, maps, etc.) in this well-stocked cottage. Too many to mention, in fact. In the food department, we had pancakes, hot chocolate, popcorn, eggs, cream, fresh fruit, canned goods, spices, and more (all from supplies in the home) AND we received home made cookies and muffins baked by Chris. We loved our short walks to Beautiful Cove, viewing Briar Island harbour activity, and watching the lighthouse. We feel like this location on Long Island (close to Briar Island) is the best place for exploring both islands. We even loved looking out the cottage's glass wall on a dramatic weather day of nearly horizontal rain and high wind. We were cozy and warm with books, games, plenty to cook, and Internet TV. The home is bright even on rainy days. The hosts, Chris and Andy were very generous and welcoming and helped us plan local adventures. We want to return!

  • It is perfect. Cozy wood stove and an amazing view. The home made goodies are very tasty and add a wonderful personal touch. Chris was so attentive, even offering to pick things up while she went into Digby. It is a wonderful place to unwind and connect with your loved one. PS, the horse loves carrots.😀😀

  • An exceptional AirBnB, absolutely loved the location and the cottage. We especially enjoyed the views over the Bay of Fundy, cosy evenings by the wood burner, local walks and whale watching off Briar Island. Chris and Andy are exceptional hosts. Chris provided delicious cookies and muffins and the kitchen is very well equipped, so we ate well. They also provide a great deal of local information in the cottage and are on hand to answer any queries or offer suggestions. We loved meeting their various furry pets. We hope to return one day.

  • Super furnished house with really everything, what you need. View from the terrace dreamlike. (When there is no fog). Feel-good character high.

  • 'Beautiful Cove Cottage', in Freeport, is an incredibly charming and comfortable place to call home while spending time on Long Island. From the moment I walked in the door, after first meeting Andy outside as I arrived, ( and Christine later when she returned from running errands in Digby ), I discovered fresh, home baked( by Christine) cookies , muffins, a fruit platter, freshly cut flowers, and a wood ,fire set- up and ready to go ( by Andy ), and all the amenities and personal touches imaginable. The location is perfect for day-tripping to Brier Island, taking in Whale watching tours, biking, hiking, touring Long Island, or simply sitting on the deck basking in the glorious sights and sounds of the Bay of Fundy. There is an unobstructed view from the deck of the cottage...and I found that it was easy to perfect the art of rest and relaxation while reading on the deck when not out exploring. I never tired of the view, and having a set of binoculars (thoughtfully provided by Andy and Christine in the cottage ) made scanning the 'waters' while sipping a cup of tea particularly appealing. I would like to say that 'Beautiful Cove Cottage' is one of those 'best kept secrets' but judging by the reviews/comments of many previous guests...I am not alone in my discovery and/or love of the place. The warmth, generosity, and hospitality of Christine and Andy made it particularly special...and I have no doubt that I'll return. Thank you again Christine and Andy for making me feel so welcome and 'at home' ....

  • If I could give Chris 10 stars, I would. My wife and I stayed a week, and it was wonderful. Chris was attentive and took great care of us. The place is neat and clean, with lots of glass and an outdoor deck facing the Bay of Fundy. The place is small and basic, sort of like a studio apartment, but it suited us just right. The kitchen is well equipped, husband Andy provided everything needed for fires in the wood stove, which was super cozy as the temperatures were starting to dip. Lots of nice touches: flowers on the table, butter in the butter dish, sodas in the fridge, fresh baked cookies and muffins. The views are beautiful. Easy walk down to Beautiful Cove. Freeport is a charming town. I just asked my wife what I should say, and she responded: “fantastic, one of a kind, feel at home, lacking nothing” Highly recommended. Just leave room for us to return! (-;

Our cottages, overlooking spectacular Flagg's Cove, are a perfect location for exploring all that Grand Manan has to offer!
Our cottages have a fully functional kitchen to prepare your own meals. You can enjoy them on the furnished deck if the spirit moves you! Both bedrooms have memory foam mattresses, and the bathroom is equipped with a new shower. Towels, bedding and soap are provided; everything you need for a comfortable stay! We might just turn you into a Grand Mananer!
Moonlight Bay Cottage are smack dab between the villages of North Head and Castalia overlooking Flagg's Cove. Incredible sunrises, and the moon travelling across the cove is spectacular!
  • Great little cottage for my stay, clean and efficient. I was on the island for work so didn't get to explore but this would be a great base for any island visitor.

    Lisa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We recommend moonlight bay cottages, very clean and modern, a few minutes drive from all services. A beautiful place to discover whether on foot, by car or by boat, you will not fail to be dazzled by all that you will see! Price-quality 10/10 ...! Our host Deborah, a lady very welcoming and concerned about our comfort. We loved our stay at Grand Manan Island

    Sylvie2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Turns out this tiny house is actually not so tiny after all. We were two adults and were very comfortable. Lovely amenities throughout. Everyone who reviews this cottage mentions two things in particular: the view and Deb. The reason for that is both are awesome. There really are no words to describe the view, it's just spectacular. Early risers (like us) are also treated to incredible sunrises, and if you stay up late and bundle up, you'll hear the whales singing. Deb is fabulous to deal with, always smiling, even when showing up during Dorian's angry visit to bring us candles and a flashlight. Grand Manan is incredibly beautiful, the people so friendly and helpful, it's really like another world. We found the prices on the island to be comparable with other tourist areas, and actually the grocery store prices are pretty much the same as here in Montreal. The cottage is in the perfect spot to explore the island easily. We thought nine days would be long enough to see everything we wanted to but we were wrong. If you're a nature lover, this is your happy place. Trust me on this.

    Andrea2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully appointed cottage with amenities that make you feel right at home! We could have simply sat on the porch daily to enjoy the view but knowing the view would be there was the best part of returning to the cottage each day. Dining al fresco was delightful for this reason. We enjoyed our stay very much, our first Airbnb experience. Our hosts definitely hit the mark with this cottage. Grand Manan is a special place to visit.

    Leigh A2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little cabin and very clean. With a easy but rugged walk down to the beach . Stayed there with my husband and 12 year old son. Deb is accurate that it is an ideal location for exploring the whole island. Great distance to town. We didn’t really need Deb for anything, but I felt she was easy to contact if we did.

    Kelly2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great view, nice amenities, great host.

    Sherry2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • lovely cottage, had all the necessities for your stay, was very surprised with tv and nexflix. power went off 2 while we were there, but not Deborah's fault. The island is beautiful but a week was way to long, prices on the island are much higher that the main land so be aware

  • The Barn at Lazy Bear Brewing was one of the most breathtaking accommodations I have ever staid in. The barn itself is a beautiful space, with modern updates, comfortable living and sleeping spaces and gorgeous views. It was spotless with no detail left out. Erin was welcoming, helpful and respectful of our privacy. We came in the off season, but will be back to stay and to take advantage of the brewery below.

  • Gorgeous views from a great space to stay. Wonderfully renovated barn property, clean and bright. Great for a little getaway. Had everything you could need to make it home away from home.

  • The pictures do not do this place justice. What a gorgeous spot. The apartment was so spacious with a very comfy bed and deep tub. The kitchen was fully functional with everything I needed at my fingertips. Quiet, private and very relaxing. The view of the bay was absolutely stunning through the huge windows, even in winter. We loved watching the boats come in and out of Digby Gut. The walk to the beach was beautiful. The beer was also really yummy and affordable. We would absolutely stay here again.

Thank you again!

  • Amazing spot!!! So relaxing, tastefully decorated and beautiful view! Erin and Andy are such great hosts! So quick to respond and very accommodating! They opened the brewery for us and even let us run down and fill another growler after hours! Their beer is absolutely delicious as well! We can’t wait to come again :)

  • Steven's and Mary Ann's place was absolutely amazing. We stayed 1 night but could have stayed longer it felt like home. Everything we could need from shampoo to coffee even little jars of jam and Peanuts for the Chipmunks! I absolutely loved the live animal show outside the bedroom window of Blue Jay's, Robin's and Chipmunks it made my whole trip! Would highly recommend and stay again!

    Erika2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Steven and Mary Ann were excellent hosts. There were many thoughtful things including snacks, binoculars and suggestions of things to do in Sandy Cove. The home was very neat and clean, with a kitchenette. They are very welcoming. Would highly recommend staying at their home! Thank you Steven and Mary Ann!

    Rui2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot. Beautiful view. Steven and Mary Ann truly thought of everything from binoculars to blackberry jam! We had a great quick overnight stay after a day of whale watching and it was great to come back to a peaceful spot where we could bbq on the deck, stargaze that evening and have coffee with a view the next morning. You may sometimes hear footsteps from upstairs but it is a minor detail compared to all of the positives of this space. We travelled with an 8 year old and she even found a teddy for bedtime and we had some fun with the beach hat selection. They even put the “breakfast” in Air”bnb”. A little gem with great hosts. Would absolutely recommend this spot.

  • My husband and I had the total pleasure of spending 2 nights at Steve and Mary Ann’s beautiful home in Sandy Cove. We wish we could have stayed longer. The location is excellent for exploring the Digby area and islands. Their property is gorgeous...peaceful with amazing views of Sandy Cove and beautiful gardens with lots of birds and friendly chipmunks. The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious, well appointed with a lovely decor and a very comfortable bed. Mary Ann and Steve were perfect hosts....friendly, helpful and respectful. We felt totally at home and could not have asked for more. The bar has been set very high for future Airbnb experiences!! Thank you so much Steve and Mary Ann. .

  • We spent a few days with Steven and Mary Ann for some some days off and whale watching in the area. They and their place are great and we loved every aspect of our stay. We would definitely come back :-).

    Manuel2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Steve and Mary Anns suite from Aug 30 to Sept 1. We have stayed at a few AirBnBs in the past but the 2 days we spent here are our favourite. Steve and Mary Ann are fantastic hosts and so enjoyable to talk to, we really didn't want to leave. They are located about 20kms from Digby on Digby Arm, there home is part way up a hill with views of St Marys Bay. Taking a short drive over the hill there is another beautiful sandy beach where one can walk, spend an afternoon and even watch the sun go down over The Bay of Fundy. The suite is very roomy and exceptionally clean but for us it was all the little details such as the supplies in the fridge that you may need, the english muffins and fruit etc. There were the beach chairs you take for a day trip, picnic basket even binoculars. The peanuts for the chipmunks which you can hand feed if you stay still, the view and the gardens are wonderful. Steve and Mary Ann also have a wealth of information on the area from restaurants, day trips and such. As for eating out you will need to travel back to Digby (15-20mins) or to the East Ferry (10 mins) but it is well worth the drive to stay there. My wife and I would not hesitate stay there again if we are in the Digby area.

This charming building was built 1720's in the oldest home is well located in the heart of Granville ferry village across the water from Annapolis Royal. You have full parking, your own entrance and the freedom to come and go as you need. The unit is its own space completely private. Recently moved to Nova Scotia from BC, we are LOVING the area, Whale watching, great lobster, sunsets and great local wines and beers. Get ready to say hello a lot as the locals are as charming as the sight seeing.
New queen bed with extra sheets, towles everything you need from home. Enjoy the coffee, tea and other things in the fridge. Enjoy a campfire while the sun goes down and Pets are welcome. The charm of the place is the post and beam construction, In the 1720's nothing was perfect so, you feel it in this home and part of the charm. :)
Neighbourhood is terrific, 2 minutes from Annapolis Royal, 15 minutes from Victoria Beach, 7 minutes from the shore, 20 minutes to Digby, 20 minutes to Bridge Town. Basically, your surrounded by culture, history and close to everything.
  • Beautiful stay. I stayed in the Lily Pad place instead of my booking at their other AirBNB due to renovations . The LilyPad is well stocked with anything you may need to cook a few meals, extra bathroom amenities, great wifi and some very thoughtful touches to make me feel welcome. It has a stunning view and a nice chunk of backyard. It has all the modern things you need to make life easy while maintaining the charm and beauty of an old home.

  • Old world charm with modern amenities. Jay more than accommodated us when he allowed us to check in 3 days earlier even though he was renovating next door. As he felt we wouldn’t have the best stay under those circumstances, he upgraded us by moving us to his other rental property. My husband especially enjoyed the terrific view of the basin and the daily flow of the tide. Lily Pad included a spacious kitchen with a large island. Jay stocked cupboards and the fridge with many complimentary items. The espresso machine was a much appreciated addition. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely. Thanks Jay!

Natalia will always prepare a fun but delicious breakfast that will leave you wanting more. I was a little worried about being in a room and having shared space but it really was a great stay. I loved every minute of it. Natalia was also super helpful/knowledgable offering some great restaurants that I urge you to try!

  • Natalia was an outstanding host! You can tell she takes great pride in being a host and has an eye for detail. Her home is located near most amenities and, although we stayed in December, you will enjoy an amazing view as you enjoy your morning coffee in the garden during the summer!

  • Natalia's place is a lovely self-contained space within her beautiful home. It has awesome scenery,a splendid sunrise. The room and bath were sparkling clean;and and all amenities were provided. The gourmet breakfast was delicious, locally sourced food...apple cider drink,jams..I would highly recommend Natalia's and Dave 's lovely home if you are looking for a jumping off point to explore Annapolis Royal and adjacent villages and towns..

  • I highly recommend staying at Natalia’s place. It is a beautiful home in a stunning location. My favourite part was eating a delicious breakfast prepared by Natalia while looking out onto the beautiful view through the big picture window. Everything was perfect, and the hosts were so lovely. I will definitely book again if I am ever in the area. Thanks Natalia for making my stay so great!

Welcome to 1555 Lake Annis Road located in a quaint cottage village 25 minutes outside the town of Yarmouth. This is a great place to come relax with friends and family in a peaceful, natural setting.
In the cottage you will find a kitchen with a full size stove, a refrigerator, cooking utensils as well as pots and pans. There is a large living and dining area with a fireplace, and two bedrooms with a total of three beds. A double inflatable bed is also available if required. The bathroom with shower is located in the adjacent garage. The cottage has an expansive deck where you can lie in the hammock with your favourite book and enjoy the surrounding nature.
Lake Annis is a quiet, friendly place that soothes the soul. You will find yourself surrounded by nature, be it the calls from the local loons or evening flutes from the resident thrushes. The sandy beach on the lake is a lovely 5 minute walk away where you can relax with a book and watch beautiful sunsets, or take the kayaks out for a relaxing paddle to explore the lake's various inlets and coves.
  • Hope the hurricane doesn't affect you

  • It’s hard to know where to start with this sweet little cabin. From the reviews and the cabin description it was exactly as stated. The fireplace, the hammock, jutting across the little yard in the middle of the night to pee; all made for a wonderful woodsy experience. We spent our days adventuring, Clark even left us a cooler to use for the duration of our trip!

    Aimee2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We felt at home here in this cottage by beautiful beautiful Lake Annis. Our stay here took us back in time to a simpler time and allowed us to unwind and have a digital detox. The cottage is the cutest and cosiest place with a log fire and beautiful back balcony. It has real character which we love. It takes you back in time and allows you to just spend time at home. We normally go and drop our things at an air BnB and start to explore as much as we can in the local surrounds but we spent the first few days here just pottering around the cottage drinking coffee and reading on the back balcony. We played puzzles and read for hours and hours. The lake is beautiful and there is lots of walking along the trails and beautiful kayaking on the lake. Clark and Jess were excellent communicators and gave us lots of information about the local area and left the place very welcoming for our stay. We would come back here again and again. We were sad to leave.

  • If you are looking for a cozy retreat, in a quiet area where you can relax and enjoy some old fashion entertainment, this is the perfect spot for you. I picked it because it is what I imagined Nova Scotia to be. Colourful. Charming. Warm. A Canadian hat trick. It didn't disappoint.

    Lori2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Clark’s and Jess’s cosy and well equipped cottage. Located in a small village it was the perfect spot to rest and relax after some busy weeks of traveling and exploring Nova Scotia. The communication was outstanding and we especially enjoyed the lake and kayaks. We would definitely recommend staying there and will take some wonderful memories back home! Thanks a lot for having us!

  • Enjoyed my stay in this fun cottage situated in a quiet, wooded area near Lake Annis. The dark night skies and comfortable bed made for great sleeping. The cottage had everything I needed for my 8 day stay and Clark was helpful and quick to respond to questions. Thanks!

    Linda2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing!! Every little detail is on point from the adorable little coffee bar to the isolated beach on the lake. It is an old and rustic cottage with everything you could possibly want for a weekend away with family. We were visiting the area on a tour around Nova Scotia so just there for a couple days. I quickly wished I had just booked our whole week there. We even came back early from sightseeing to make sure we could enjoy the lake, the kayaks, and the isolated family time. The stars by the lake at night were also amazing!! Don't pass this place up, easily my favorite in Nova Scotia so far!

    Cara2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stay here while participating in the Baie Sainte-Marie cycling Grand Fondo ....absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed the lake, kayaks, BBQing, and sunsets on the porch. Clark was a great host and he was quick to respond to all questions. This is a wonderful area and the people are warm and friendly. Thank you, Scott, Karen, Jonathan and Susan

An elegant turn of the century Victorian home, with wrap around veranda. Beautiful garden, and proximity to the world renowned Bay of Fundy tides, whale watching, Acadian shore of Nova Scotia. Breakfast included.
The house was built in 1901 by an Acadian craftsman, it was later purchased by a local merchant.
Weymouth was founded in 1783 by United Empire Loyalists, (Americans who were on the losing side of the American Revolution, and resettled in Canada). Next door are French speaking Acadians who settled this region after being expelled from their homes in other parts of Atlantic Canada
  • Super clean, comfy bed, and friendly folks made me feel like I was at home :)

    Jacob2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Debra and Scott were amazing hosts, who were incredibly accommodating on my visit to Weymouth. Their house is beautiful, and the room was great.

    Duncan2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debra and Scott are a charming couple and their place is a lovingly restored old house with a lot of characters. We stayed there while our son played in a tournament at University of Saint Anne, which is 12 minutes away. Debra and Scott went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

Idyllic GRAND MANAN ISLAND OCEANFRONT LOCATION! The first thing you`ll notice as you embark down the winding driveway is the fresh sea breeze and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocky shore. This oceanfront property is located at the peaceful end of the island, well known for it`s serenity. The loft offers panoramic views of the Bay of Fundy and beyond. The beautiful loft compromises a queen size bed, kitchenette, shower, and a peaceful seating area overlooking the bay.
The loft is located in the top half of a building located next to our home. The open concept loft overlooks the ocean with its many windows. You can hear the oceans crashing waves during your entire stay! Because of its location you will be awoken every morning by the beautiful sunrises! The kitchenette features a mini fridge, cooktop, toaster, toaster oven, microwave, crock pot, and other little items! The bathroom consists of a stand up shower, toilet and sink with a large mirror. The queen size bed is located in the centre of the loft. Take in all the breathtaking views directly from the bed. Musically talented? The loft also features a piano! Is there something in particular you were looking for? Simply ask and we will see what we can do!
Southern Head is at the opposite end of the island from the ferry terminal. It takes approximately 15 minutes to arrive at the loft from the ferry terminal. Southern Head is noted for its breathtaking views, private locations, and serenity. The southern head lighthouse is only a minute away from the loft. Deep Cove beach is only a couple minutes away and at low tide is known to be one of the best beaches around! There are many little shops and restaurants located on the island. Just ask us about our favorites!
  • Great space, it was very clean and comfortable. Location is easy to get to and so quiet- all you hear are the crashing waves outside your windows. Kitchen is stocked with all the cookware essentials You may need. Great trail right outside the door takes you to one of the Island’s many lighthouses.

    Khristine 2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful! Would come again for sure! Loved that it was in the south end of Grand Manan because it gave us the opportunity to drive all over the Island and hit every spot that we looked forward to visiting! The views outside the windows and attention to detail was my favourite parts about the loft! Watching the sunrise with our coffees, seeing seals right outside our windows, it was everything I had hoped for! The flock of sheep trail is also connected to this property, we hiked almost all of the trails on Grand Manan and this one was by far our favourite (The Hole in the wall was also great) ! When you drive down to the property make sure you keep an eye out for the spray painted sheep on the road, was pretty neat to see! Victoria and Alex were so down to earth and you instantly felt looked after. Thank you for opening up your space for us. 5/5 in our books.

    Samantha2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I lucked out with the weather even though my stay was during the off-season. Bright and sunny!! If you like to wake up with the sun and want your own little private writers’/readers’ getaway, this is the spot for you.

    Lori-Ann2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot! The loft was more than we had anticipated. Was bright, comfortable and decorated perfectly. We watched seals from the loft and had the waves crashing along the shore to put us to sleep. We hiked the Flock of Sheep trail right from the loft. The views along the trail was unreal. Victoria and Alex are great. We will definitely be back to explore more of that beautiful island.

    Stacey2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the stay at Sou'west Sunrise. It is a lovely upstairs garage apartment overlooking the Bay of Fundy. There is an incredible hiking trail that runs past this property called the "Flock of Sheep". It is a must do for anyone wanting a great hike and breathtaking views. The apartment is spacious and a great place to unwind. We enjoyed our stay and would return any time.

    Steven2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you love nature and being close to the sea, you will not find a better place the Victoria’s and Alex’s loft. It overlooks the Bay of Fundy, and is a large, open space with views. All the amenities are included, even an upright piano. My wife and I stayed 3 nights, and cooked local seafood in the loft, never having a desire to explore the few restaurants on Grand Manan. Hiking trails are out the door, with spectacular views overlooking cliffs. And the hosts are fine people, who will give you any info you need to get to know the island. This is our 2nd time staying, and we hope to return when we can. Highly recommended!

    Robert2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great get-away from all the distractions of your busy life!! Know before you go — you MUST make a reservation for the ferry at least two days before your planned crossing — we didn’t know, but because a hurricane was blowing through, we “got lucky” and got a spot. Visit coastaltransport.ca for details. The space is efficient and comfortable — beautiful views everywhere you look! Great hiking, very friendly people. Depending on when you visit, be aware that you might not find a lot open. We were there in early Sept and found most restaurants were closed. Every place that was recommended to us was “closed for the season.” The space had a well-equipped kitchenette, so I suppose I could have cooked...but I was hoping to avoid that while on vacation. 😬

Cozy and delightful! A bright sun filled space to soak in the ocean view. Located on St Mary's Bay, the waters are part of Nova Scotia's largest lobster fishing area. Located on the Acadian French shore the neighbors are mostly bilingual (english/french) speakers with a unique and interesting history and a friendly disposition. Good location for day trips to Yarmouth, Annapolis Royal, Digby, and Digby neck, whale watching . Very close to Gran Fondo starting point and Clare golf course
This house is a beautifully bright open concept home, which is literally bathed in light all day long. Elegant design elements give it a light and cheerful atmosphere. Large patio doors open out to the ocean view. It is a happy space to be in! Or sit outside and enjoy the gardens and the backyard patio. The large exterior back yard gives a place for families to play games together. Walk down to the trail to the ocean front and you can take a trail along the oceans edge. Or carefully scramble down the embankment to the rocky beach and go beach combing.
The Acadian Region of Clare, is home to a bilingual (English/French) people with a rich history and a zest for life. Enjoy the ocean, the seafood, and the culture.

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise .... across the waters of historic ANNAPOLIS ROYAL. All the conveniences plus HOT TUB & SWIMING POOL privileges. Close to town - 20 min walking, or 5 min cycling. View the spectacular changes of the BAY of FUNDY tides from your window. Swim in the pool, or the ocean (at high tide).... or relax in the sun or shade in our waterfront gardens, our little piece of PARADISO !
Our place is great for couples & solo travellers, as well as a family (using the futon bed). If you like a quiet private setting with a waterfront, this is it. The cottage is cozy, open and airy, and with a full kitchen and bath. You have your own private yard/garden space with lawn chairs and barbecue .......and that gorgeous waterfront view !
A quiet and friendly little waterfront village next to the historic town of Annapolis Royal - vibrant in arts, theatre, dining, museums and shops. Central location for all of southwest Nova Scotia, including from Kejimikijik National Park to the famous whale watching of the Bay of Fundy.
  • A lovely little cabin by the sea. Everything you will need, cosy and the most beautiful view. A warm and friendly hostess, easiest stay you can imagine.

  • Janis' cottage is a perfect size for two people. Everything needed is supplied. The backyard faces the water with a very nice view and a cute garden. Janis and Cam live next door and seem to love to speak with their guests, though I am sure they would not intrude if guests want to be left alone. They are delightful company - well-traveled and well-read. The cottage is very close to Port Royal and Annapolis Royal.

    Julia2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Janis and her husband Cam were EXCEPTIONAL hosts! They were so welcoming and generous. We LOVED their little cottage and property. Quite possibly the best view of Annapolis Royal you could ever get. Fully stocked kitchen. Sweet little bedroom. Bathroom sparkly clean and lots of towels/soap/etc. Will definitely stay again and can easily and wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family.

  • Janis and Cam were awesome hosts and their cozy cottage and bay side gardens were lovely at the end of a busy day. Returning each day was a pleasure after days of hiking and exploring the quaint harbors and coves along the Bay of Fundy. Close to everything we wanted to see in our visit to Nova Scotia. My wife and I couldn't have stayed in a nicer place. Tim and Jean Griffin

    Tim2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We adored our stay here. The view from the cottage is spectacular, we adored having our breakfast out in the little garden, our daughter enjoyed the hot tub and pool, Cam took us on a wonderful kayaking trip, beds were comfy, and Janis and Cam were fantastic hosts.

    Denis2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Luxury takes many forms. If you are expecting the Ritz then maybe Nova Scotia isn't for you let alone Waters edge ! But if you are looking for a quaint and comfortable home for exploring the Annapolis valley then you've arrived.Jan and Cam live next door and you share the yard and pool and hot tub as public spaces but the grounds and views are spectacular. They are welcoming hosts with great local knowledge but respect your privacy as well. We explored the valley on day trips to wineries and had a great day whale watching with Jan's cousin Penny. Each day we returned home to our little refuge with stunning water views of Annapolis Royal. Thank you Jan and Cam. We hope to return someday soon. You won't find a better home away from home in the area!

  • This beautifully designed apartment is right in the heart of Annapolis Royal, with the river very close (visible from windows, and a 1-minute walk away). Nancy is an artist, and the apartment reflects her fun—and fine—taste. Kitchen is very well appointed, and bathroom has a whirlpool tub and excellent shower. Great dvd library too. We also found the bed so comfortable. Our dog loved the space too (!), and we found multiple interesting walks right out the door. It’s just a block from the boardwalk that runs along the river in town, and to Fort Anne with walking trails. Nancy is a super welcoming and respectful host; she left us some lovely extras that sweetened our arrival. We highly recommend her space.

  • In Annapolis Royal working and found this fun colorful place right in the center of town. It had what we needed when we came back home on a chilly Nov day. It was cozy(with added warmth from the little wood stove), movies to watch, comfortable bed and great coffee for the morning. Nancy is a thoughtful host and provided extras ..like popcorn and chips that we appreciated along with advice on things to see in the Valley which is easy from this location. I hope we can visit again

  • Nancy’s place is well situated in downtown Annapolis Royal and an easy walk from a number of lovely local businesses. The suite is charming, clean, and private. Our only wish was that the weather would have been less windy so we could use the woodstove - but there’s not anything Nancy can control about that. She was a gracious and accommodating host.

The winter season is upon us, so why not make the best of it. Come to Riverside Retreat for a winter get-away, just five minutes from historic Annapolis Royal (2 hrs from Halifax). The cottage is perfect for couples or young families interested in exploring the natural winter landscape of the Annapolis Valley.
Please come for a relaxing time at the cabin, and sit in front of the electric fireplace with a good book and cozy blanket. End your day sitting at an open fire outside the cabin (firewood included) while gazing at the stars and Milky Way through our crystal clear winter skies, and don't forget to make a wish upon a falling star! Note that 'smores' also taste good in the dark winter night! Either way, this is the place for you to beat those winter-time blues.
You are five-minute drive from historic Annapolis Royal, the oldest permanent settlement in North America and host to Fort Anne, the Historic Gardens, the Habitation, the first tidal power plant in North America, and a quaint main street and waterfront on the world-renowned Bay of Fundy, with the highest tides in the world. You are also less than a 45 minute drive from Kejimkujik National Park, and whale-watching or sea kayaking out of nearby Digby, Nova Scotia. A short walking trail to the Annapolis River starts at your door, giving you access to marine wildlife (beaver, ducks, geese, seals, etc.) and fishing for mackerel, flounder, and 'lunker'-sized striped bass (these tidal waters require no fishing license). There is also an outdoor barbecue and fire pit ready to help you roast some marshmallows.
  • This beautiful little cabin was perfect for our weekend winter getaway. Nice and quiet, just off the beaten path, and within a short drive to Annapolis Royal. We enjoyed several hikes and walks, as well as the experiences in town. His cabin, right on the river, and with stairs' access down to the water. Will definitely have to make a return trip in the summer!

  • Fantastic get away in a beautiful spot! Jeremy is a super host and it definitely shows, he provides excellent attention to detail (local apple cider in ice ready to go, local bacon and free range eggs for breakfast and a Christmas tree all set up). He is also great at providing recommendations and local must-sees/dos. We will definitely be back!

    Dan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy went above and beyond for us. We were welcomed with ciders on ice and local bacon and eggs. Coming down to visit family has never been so easy. He made us feel very welcomed even had a little Christmas tree set up. Just perfection. Thank you for all the laughs.

  • The cabin is comfortable but rustic. Lots of privacy, a great deck for eating out, and a nice path through the woods and down over the stairs to the water. There aren't many walks from the cabin, but it's well located for exploring (by car) the nearby town of Annapolis Royal (5 minutes away) and many wonderful parks, hiking trails, fishing villages and lovely waterside towns all along the coasts of Nova Scotia.

    Barbara2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent and attentive hosts in a comfortable and relaxing setting. What more could anyone want? In the last year my wife and I have stayed here on three occasions (the last time during extra tropical storm Dorian - where we were as snug as bugs!). We are looking forward to our fourth upcoming trip in November! We find Jeremy's cabin a great place to stay when we visit Annapolis Royal (where we are treated to wonderful venues at the King's Theatre) and the Historical Gardens while touring the surrounding area. :)

  • Just fabulous Jeremy make our trip perfect. The cabin is clean and well located. The bed is very comfortable and you have everything fresh for breakfast eggs, bacon and blueberry. Don’t hesitate to make Jeremy’s place, your choice and you will enjoy it!

Located within the historic summer resort property of Harbourview, this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is fully self contained for your comfort and convenience. Full access to all property amenities (pool, tennis court, play area) are included in your rental and only steps away. The unit is bright and spacious with a set up conducive to privacy. Close to Digby, Annapolis Royal, Bear River, Digby Neck and Islands and the Acadian French Shore there are no shortage of things to do and sea!
Originally built as a casino in the 1930's ( dance floor large enough for 150 couples) the property was the site of weekly dances and other social gatherings. In 1941 the building burnt to the ground but was rebuilt to the exact measurements on the original site. My parents bought the Inn and Harbourview property in the early 60's continuing to utilize the dance hall into the 70's where it had eventually evolved into a children's program site ( children of guests staying on the property and Inn could put their children into daily supervised programs ) . The dance hall was eventually transformed into apartments, laundromat and workshop in the early 80's then most recently into a private residence. The guest unit I am renting has been fully renovated and reinvented this past winter 2019.
  • Unbelievable place to stay

  • This is a wonderful apartment! Jennifer was a great host! Decorated beautifully and in such a neat little resort community near Digby. We wished we had planned to stay longer! Beds were super comfortable and space was laid out nicely and was very quiet.

  • Inspiring space, we slept so soundly and woke up to the most incredible sky. I’d recommend this to anyone and look forward to the opportunity to return. It’s a good stooping point for anyone making a tour or motor trip of the province. Next time I’m going swimming in Milo lake!

  • Very compact but very cool space.

    Michel2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie & Petra have a beautiful spot. Views of the lake really make it. The studio is cozy, comfortable, clean and very modern with a European flair. A compact kitchen and bar fridge allow for putting together a simple meal or breakfast. No formal sitting area but the stools at the small breakfast bar suffice. I enjoyed my stay :)

    Lynn2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Petra and Jamie cared a lot; the communication went well. The loft is beautiful. The location is great. They even offered muffins for the wedding anniversary.
