Places to stay in East Quantoxhead
A uniquely appointed wood cabin sited under mature oak trees in our lovely garden. The Shack has one lovely room with kitchen area inc microwave, fridge and toaster, no cooker but a single electric ring. Items for breakfast will be left for your first night and you are welcome to request more. These include homemade bread and jam, milk, tea and coffee and cereal. Well insulated so warm in winter and cool in summer. 3 miles to the coast. A short drive to Exmoor or the Quantock hills. Meet our chickens and dogs, chill on the veranda listening to birds and the river, or stroll to the very local pub.
The Shack comprises a good size room with double bed. There's a kitchenette and your own bathroom with toilet, sink and our special galvanised metal shower! As we are keen to re-use and upcycle as much as possible you will find many examples of this in the shack. There's the pallet wood wall and floor which was taken up from an old pub skittle alley. Lights and other features hand made by ourselves in reclaimed wood.
The Shack is situated in the hamlet of Torre (pronounced tor) just a few yards from the river Washford. The White Horse pub is just a few metres away, has a beer garden next to the river and otters can occasionally be seen. We are pretty quiet yet not isolated and only 10 minutes from the coast at Blue Anchor. Washford has a lovely quirky small zoo which has great indoor and outdoor play areas and is enjoyed by adults and children alike. The Steam railway (which is the longest in the country) stops in the village and the train is often heard from our property. The neighbourhood is very friendly and welcoming. Our property is set in a small valley and there are many trees around. The sound of birds ( Inc owls) around the shack is lovely and we regularly get nuthatches, tree creepers, long tailed tits and goldfinches to our feeders. Sit on your terrace and listen to the river and relax...
  • Our stay with Jill & John was wonderful. The shack is very cozy and pretty. Everything was clean and quiet and John was very welcoming. We were sad we only booked one night :)

  • Tom and Fiona’s cottage is the perfect escape! The cottage is super cosy, warm and comfortable and has everything you’d need for any length of stay! There are lovely little touches everywhere, it’s beautifully decorated, private and even has a lovely outside area. To our surprise, when we arrived, we were greeted with a delicious cream tea and ended up playing board games and drinking copious amounts of tea in this little nest, forgetting the outside world! The cottage is a great base for seeing Exmoor National Park and surrounding villages - with the long list of recommendations given, there’s an endless amount of things to do and see in the local area. (We loved Dunster castle!) Fiona and Tom were fab hosts, Tom even suggested a walk for us and provided us with a map and directions. The walk was spectacular, we just really wished we had booked a few extra nights to explore some more!

    Nikolija2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend at the cottage. It is well equipped for a weekend away, and very cosy even in windy February! We very much enjoyed the cream tea left out to welcome us. The location is ideal for exploring Somerset and Devon. Fi and Tom recommended Kilve Beach which was stunning, and the Notley Arms where the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend staying here and I'm sure we will come back!

  • The Little Orchard Cottage was beautiful, clean, and cosy. It had everything that we needed for a weekend away and was exactly as described online. The surrounding area is beautiful and provides a great retreat for getting away from the city. Fiona and Tom provided great tips and walking routes, local pubs and restaurants, and were very friendly and helpful.

  • Lovely little cottage and garden in a beautiful area, within walking distance to the Qauntocks. Lots of information and maps of walks in the local area. Fiona made a delicious cream tea for our arrival which was much appreciated. We would recommend staying here.

  • The two of us had a wonderful stay in a spectacular location, where we felt welcomed by the host. The Steam Rocket was a brilliantly unique and rural location which led us on country walks and invited us out into the fresh air. Highly recommend this stay to those who want to relax in a peaceful area of Somerset and go for long afternoon walks.

  • We loved our stay at the Steam Rocket. Anne goes above and beyond with thoughtful touches. The cake on arrival was well received and we can highly recommend the breakfast that Anne makes. The location is great for getting out and exploring, and it's close to local amenities. It was lovely to wake up to see countryside and Donkeys. The Steam Rocket is compact but has everything you could need. Thankyou for such an enjoyable stay :)

  • The steam rocket is great, so different to any where I have stayed before, lovely little space in a great location, hosts are really friendly nice people. Would love to go again.

    Maxine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for somewhere different to stay while we were in West Somerset for a few days after our wedding (our minI-noon). The Steam Rocket really delivered on that. It is so well designed. It’s very cosy and quirky. I slept so well in the very comfortable bed. I wish the weather was a little kinder so that we could have made use of the outdoor areas but if the sun is shining you’ll love sitting outside looking across the field towards the steam railway. And do try Anne’s breakfast. It was delicious. We would definitely recommend the Steam Rocket.

  • The accommodation is cosy and well thought out. An ideal location for two people to get away from it all. Sam was helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The dairy is quiet even on the working farm. A real gem

    Jasmine2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sam’s place. We loved the space and it had everything we needed and a whole lot of charm! The log burner was very welcome after long walks on the nearby beaches. The kitchen has everything you need to cook should you not wish to venture out. There is also a TV if you fancy a night in but the lovely cows and chickens in the fields will also provide lots of entertainment! We were left some complimentary eggs and cupcakes which was a nice extra. The eggs were delicious for breakfast! Bedroom was lovely and warm and the bathroom had a very luxurious shower. A wonderful base for exploring the area. We loved the local beaches, especially Kilve Beach which had plenty of fossils to discover. Overall just a brilliant stay and we’d love to come back again!

    Laura2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely fantastic time at Zine Farm. The accommodation was rustic and beautiful. The space is perfect for couples and very dog friendly which is always top of our list. Sam was great and couldn’t do enough for us. The area is so peaceful and quiet. I haven’t slept like that in ages (made even more so by the comfy bed!) thanks again for making us so welcome.

    Rachel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful location and very accommodating hosts. Property was sparkling clean with some very thoughtful and considerate touches. We can’t recommend highly enough.

    Karl2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic find. We stayed in the aftermath of storm Ciara so was very wet and windy. We were lovely and cosy inside with the log burner. The dairy has everything you need for a short or longer stay. The bed is very comfortable and the shower huge and hot. Short drive to beach or longer walk across fields which we did not attempt due to mud. Fresh eggs were a bonus. Don't want to recommend too much as may become too booked!

    Rachel2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • An AMAZING stay! Sam's hospitality was second to none. There for anything that you wanted but never intrusive or over the top, always on hand to help with any queries such as directions to the nearest beach or which local pubs to visit. The property itself was exceptionally clean with high quality amenities such as a well equipped kitchen and lovely drencher shower. We were greeted with a torrent of thoughtful touches such as the multi fuel stove being already lit, cookies on the table for us, dog treats in a bowl, milk in the fridge, farm fresh eggs for breakfast and a well stocked supply of beer and wine (available to pay for via an honesty jar). The property truly felt like a home from home and we are already planning a return visit as ours was so outstanding.

    Baxter2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. Sums it up really. Very quiet. Lovely space for our two dogs to play. Lots of little touches to make you comfortable. Cant wait to go back.

A double en suite room with TV and Wifi. It’s a great budget room for one person comfortably, two is cosy as its a 4ft double bed but the price may make it worth it to you! The room is in a self contained annex to the main house with one other air bnb room sharing a dining area and kitchenette. Breakfast is included. The space is popular for those who want to shower, sleep and go - ideal for cyclists, walkers, for those passing through or staying locally on a budget and especially HPC workers.
My space is aimed at people who want to crash for one or two nights or who want a room as a base for longer. There are two rooms - this being the smaller - both are modern, recently built, clean, and each room has an en-suite, TV and Wifi and a wardrobe. There is a fridge and a microwave in the shared kitchenette. The rooms are designed to be aimed at people who need a clean and comfortable bed, a shower but who aren't requiring an 'experience' like four poster beds or bacon breakfasts. There is oodles of parking. The rooms are slightly separated from the main house so you can have privacy or interaction - whichever you prefer - but this makes it easy for you to come and go when you wish. We could be like ships that pass in the night as I work out of the village but I am always on the end of the phone if needs be. The rooms operate very much stand alone so I may not be around when you arrive but this is made easy with a key safe and self entry. I try to make a point of saying hello but with my timings and guests’ itineraries we could possibly miss each other too. Unlimited tea and coffee facilities are in the communal area. There is also a small dining/seating area which is shared with the other room. Breakfast is provided (cereals, yoghurts and toast) but if you prefer there are also cafes both within walking distance or a car drive to beach or hillside cafes. I can advise you of the tried and tested places! I am in the centre of Williton but tucked away - the size and privacy of the house and garden is always a surprise. The garden is a work in progress and is slowly being tamed but you are welcome to sit out in it should you wish, either with breakfast or a glass of wine. Plenty of space for dogs to run around if you are bringing your fluffy friend with you (£5 fee tba). Cyclists and walkers are very welcome and I am increasing the facilities for these guests each year. The space has been popular with walkers, cyclists, people who crash as a stop off on a long journey to Cornwall, wedding visitors, Watchet Festival visitors and people working locally. If you are here for work - particularly Hinkley - I am happy to discuss long stay arrangements. I like to give any long stayers value for money if I can and the rooms are ideal for anyone who needs a clean, tidy place to sleep between busy periods of work or cycling or walking etc. If you need a bank, cafe, fish and chips, groceries, Indian supper, beer, hairdressers, post office, old fashioned iron mongers, country clothing or petrol they are a few minutes walk away. You can take a 15 minute walk to the Quantocks or Exmoor to start your day or take the steam train from the local station to a destination on the line and start there. The Coleridge Way, MacMillan Walk and South West Coast Path, as well as the West Somerset Coast Path are all within nodding distance. The Quantocks are popular with cyclists, there is a Jurassic beach full of fossils within a 5 minute drive and a plethora of places to pique your interest and I am happy to advise on any of these.
If you love the countryside then it is perfect. As well as convenient access to the Quantocks and Exmoor we also have the local beaches. At Doniford, you can not only walk for miles long the beautiful coastline but hunt for fossils. Why not walk to Watchet, enjoy a cafe meal and walk back over the hill? Or swim at Minehead. You can walk or cycle directly onto either the Quantocks or Exmoor from here. There are lots of local interest spots within striking distance, the nearest being Dunster Castle and Coleridge Cottage if you like history. You can explore the coastline or the countryside without being too far away from 'civilisation' or too far a journey away from the M5. Watchet has a marina, popular music venues and pubs. There are several pubs in Williton for food and drink too. The West Somerset Railway has a station in Williton from which you can access the line in both directions.
  • Small, but excellent value for money.

  • Outstanding stay and definitely worth every penny, Clair was fantastic to communicate with and we even managed to meet her before she went off to work. The room was immaculate and I couldn’t fault the facilities here. Will definitely stay again

The Granary is a delightful detached south facing barn conversion with fabulous views situated in Over Stowey in the foothills of the Quantocks - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first designated in the UK. The Granary offers exceptional, spacious self catering accommodation for two. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with its free roaming herds of wild red deer and Quantock ponies.
Ideal for walkers, the recently designated Coleridge Way starts from the National Trust owned Coleridge Cottage in the neighbouring village of Nether Stowey. For cyclists, the Quantocks have miles of cycling trails and here at the Granary we can offer plenty of storage for biking equipment. For birdwatchers and walkers alike, we are within 15 minutes' drive of the stunning new Steart Marshes reserve, run by the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust.
We are in a rural location, with the Quantock Hills within less than a 5 minute drive and a Forestry Commission Forest just down the road. Coleridge Cottage, a National Trust Property, is in the nearby village of Nether Stowey. The stunning new nature reserve at Steart Marshes is less than 15 minutes away, as is North Somerset's Jurassic Coast.
  • A very comfortable, cosy but also spacious place to stay. Ideal for exploring the area, especially the Quantock Hills which we walked to and from on one of our days walk. We intend to return!

Groom’s Cottage is tucked into the folds of the Quantock Hills and close to the fossil-rich beach in Kilve. Perfect for walking, horse riding and mountain biking, it’s only a short walk along our no-through lane and on to the hills (and Coleridge Way) and half a mile to the village shop and superb gastro pub. The cottage sleeps 4 in 2 double rooms, has bath and shower and open-plan downstairs. It forms the west wing of our farmhouse whose grounds (loungers and barbecue) you are welcome to enjoy.
The Quantock Hills, immediately above the cottage, are Somerset’s unspoilt wilderness. Here, the open land is criss-crossed with footpaths and bridleways, including the nationally important Coleridge Way, where you can follow in the footsteps of the romantic poet or link to the Two Moors Way and the South West Coast Path. Although the self-catering cottage feels a world away from the hubbub of modern life, it is just an hour’s drive from Bristol (M4/M5 interchange) and closer to London than Devon or Cornwall.
  • This is a delightful, gem of a cottage. Incredibly comfortable and stylish. All amenities you can wish for plus some wonderful extras including Crabtree & Evelyn goodies. So warm and such a beautiful setting surrounded by trees, rolling fields, horses and even a goat. Charming. We had two small children with us and they loved it too. Travel cot was provided which was very helpful. Thank you!

  • From the moment you arrive you very much feel at home. Ann and Marks hospitality is amazing and nothing is too much bother for them. The cottage itself is in a fantastic location for walking and exploring the local area. The interior is nicely decorated, well appointed and very comfortable. Only stayed for 3 nights.. would happily have stayed longer.

    Madeleine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was comfortable and cosy, just like the pictures and with great walks right on our doorstep. We were given some maps by Ann and followed the route down to the beach before a really good pub lunch at The Hood. Thanks for having us!

  • I was looking for somewhere quiet to get away for my birthday weekend about an hour drive from Bristol and decided to look on Airbnb. Privacy, along with a safe and fun environment for my 7-year-old son was also a key factor. I have been to Kilve a few times over the years and knew the beach was great for fossil hunting but hadn’t walked in the Quantocks for years. I came across Groom’s Cottage and what struck me, alongside the look of the place, were the reviews and particularly the tone. The descriptions sold it to me, and we weren’t disappointed. Mark was there to meet us and within minutes we were unpacked and relaxed. My son had already disappeared with the gorgeous Frankie, the most wonderful dog you could wish to meet, and Mark to see the horses. We had a lovely birthday meal and Frankie spent the evening and night with us! We don’t have a dog, but the sight of Alex cuddled up with her on the sofa was great. Saturday morning a relaxing late breakfast and Ann popped round to see us. We decided on a hike up onto the hills and we could take Frankie with us. We had a wonderful walk, through the mist and muddy hills, met the occasional walker on the way and 4 hours later returned tired but relaxed and ready for the evening meal. You feel like part of the family here and the wonderful sense of trust taking someone’s beloved pet out for the day is a great feeling. We love the natural world and all it has to offer, come rain or shine. Will we come back? Absolutely, and we can’t wait! Thanks so much to Mark, Ann and of course Frankie, Alex will miss you!

  • We were a large family group (8 people, 1 baby, 1 dog) and we stayed in the Airbnb and the adjoining B&B. Everything was very well-arranged, comfortable and clean. Mark and Ann were attentive hosts and full of top tips for good walks and what local pubs to try. It was great to be surrounded by the horses and the friendly goat! Would thoroughly recommend Pardlestone Farm for a long weekend :)

    Emilia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? There are so many positives, too many to list! Ann and Mark are lovely, welcoming hosts. The annexe is simply beautiful. Thoughtfully furnished, warm and comfortable with everything you need. Fully fitted kitchen, great sitting room, comfortable beds, high quality bedding & towels and spotlessly clean. Lovely and quiet too, with good views from the windows. The location is perfect for walking, just a few minutes up the quiet lane and you’re straight onto the Quantock hills. All this and dog-friendly too. What could be better? We hope to return early next year. Thank you Ann & Mark!

    Penny2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a little gem, great care has been taken in the choice of furnishings. Everything you may need has been thought of by Ann and Mark, ensuring you can relax and enjoy your stay. The kitchen is well equipped, and the lounge area has good quality armchairs and settee. The bathroom has a good sized efficient shower and a relaxing bath. The beds are very comfortable. The location is beautiful , the peace and quiet of the area is complimented by the birdsong, the views are wonderful. There is plenty to see and do locally, Dunster Castle, Hestercombe Gardens, Kilve beach with the coastal paths is approx 40mins walk from the cottage. Ann and Mark are excellent hosts, always ready to help or advise but never intrusive.

Nether Stowey lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills - which are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just off the A39. The perfect location for walkers and cyclists, with enough local attractions for those looking for a more relaxed break. Nether Stowey has a long and interesting history. It is the starting point of the Coleridge Way. The Coleridge Way is famous for its links with the Romantic Poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth. The older part of the village is in a conservation area. The village has two pubs, the Rose and Crown and The Ancient Mariner; the latter serves food at lunchtime and evenings. There are a good selection of convenient stores , a small library and the village post office also houses the Quantock Tearoom.
  • If I could I would give them more than five stars, it‘s definitely one of the best BnB‘s I‘ve been so far! Very kind and friendly people with good tips, I would go there again without hesitation!

  • 2nd time saying at Jill's Shepherds hut. Really love getting away down here for relaxation. So very cosy inside with the fire and for us its great to be able to bring/get food to cook and just hibernate with a book or Netflix inside....with the odd escape out to the seaside and pub!

  • Lovely cosy shepherds hut on a working riding school. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful. All the horses are friendly too. If I visited again, I’d choose the slightly larger hut purely because I’m 6”3 and I didn’t quite fit the bed! An occupational hazard for a tall person like myself!

    Neil2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • What a lovely hut! We stayed for two nights arriving late on the Friday parking was easy to find and the outdoor light being left on meant that we could get in! The log fire is a lovely touch and makes the cabin super warm! We did not use the outdoor oven but noticed the couple next door having a good time using it We found there to be no noise and people using the farm were very friendly and helped us find the town! A superb location you will not be disappointed!! - Bring your walking boots!!!

    Tom2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

Within the main house at Crowcombe Court there are 11 magnificent bedrooms. Each bedroom is unique – they all hold character furniture which continues the feeling of traditional grandeur that the house exudes, some boasting four-poster beds and luxurious bathroom with both a roll top bath and shower. We have a mix of double rooms, twin rooms and family suites which have 2 bedrooms and shared bathroom.
During their stay in the main house, resident guests have access to the principal drawing room, the Great Hall, beautiful gardens and lake. Our excellent full English breakfast as well as various cereals, fruits and yogurts is served in our charming Dining Room overlooking the circle.
We are set in the heart of the Quantock Hills so there are many great walking tracks and outdoor pursuits. The local pub is in walking distance and there are a further many great pubs and restaurants within 20mins drive.

  • What a fabulous surprise. This lovely Georgian Manor is enormous and set in rolling Quantock foothills. I was looked after very well and stayed in a very comfortable suite of rooms. The large double bed was excellent. There were even usb sockets in the plugs which was handy. The bathroom was great: the shower was very powerful and the temperature easily adjustable. After a good nights sleep, I awoke to see 4 red deer on the drive. Breakfast was just the ticket. Definitely recommend. It seemed like this place is really well geared up for seriously special weddings too. Thank you to Natasha and Chris for such a great stay.

    Ed2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Feeling blessed to have had the opportunity to stay in Crowcombe Court, a beautiful Georgian manor house nestled at the foot of the Quantocks. Our original plan to cycle there was scuppered by an appalling weather forecast which failed to materialise. Nonetheless, loaded the bikes into the car we were able to ride on the Sunday to Watchet, skirting back along the edge of Exmoor, back to Bishops Lydeard, up over the Quantocks and back to Crowcombe. This is a fabulous location for cycling breaks, as long as you don't mind hills, and plenty of testing gradients at that! Nice to also have facilities to hose down the bikes at the end of a muddy lane ride, plus somewhere secure to leave them inside. The hearty and perfectly cooked breakfast certainly helps set you up for the day ahead, but be warned, you will struggle to leave the most comfortable bed to make it down. We struggled! The room itself felt like a touch of modest luxury to me. No tv, but that was a welcome escape. The Carew Arms is extremely close by for food and drink, easy walking distance (10 minutes, if that). We did try out The Blue Ball on our Sunday ride, a little over a mile away and it's an alternative option for somewhere to eat out.

  • This lovely place is a real gem, and incredible value. Very romantic. Essentially, it is a grand old manor house surrounded by the formal gardens and adjacent to a parkland and woodland landscape where you can see red deer grazing every evening. The Quantock AONB location is stunning. The staff, especially Chris, were very friendly and helpful. We had such a great time and would definitely book again.

  • Stayed for two nights. Beautiful place with great use of space. Very stylish, with lovely touches. Peaceful. Location wise you are right on top of the Great Wood. Foxy Bean Cafe is next door (and great). Much as per other reviews, we would reiterate that the space would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues, as the steps to the bed/mezzanine are steep.... though that's what makes it so cosy up there! We did struggle to find much in the way of interesting food in the local area other than pub-grub, so possibly not ideal for foodies. But a brilliant spot to relax, and great communication from the hosts. Highly recommended.

  • A beautiful little annex in the heart of the Quantocks. It had everything you need, including a deluxe shower and bathroom. The velux window above the bed is perfect for star gazing and listening to the stream just outside. Lovely vibrant cafe next door and forest walks from the front door.

  • This is a beautiful little place to stay. The property is done out really nicely with cute finishing touches everywhere. The kitchen has everything you need and the appliances are all really good quality! Bathroom is absolutely delightful with faux rustic tiles in the shower. The sofa is super comfortable and TV has top of the range sound system to enjoy films on the Netflix account. Bed on the mezzanine is really comfortable, although reaching it via the tight staircase might be problematic for some elderly or drunk people. There is enough headroom to sit up in bed comfortably, but it is not high enough to do star jumps, which was fine. The house is located really close to some lovely walks. There is Hawkridge Reservoir just a 7 minute drive away and The Great Wood (an amazingly beautiful place to walk) is on the doorstep. There is also a cafe on site, which was closed when we were there (open Wednesday- Sunday), but we read the reviews on Airbnb and people said it was really nice. So we think it would have been nice, so feel confident in recommending it to others. Lovely. Hosts were helpful, but also left us to it and made us feel at home in the property. Check in was smooth and hassle-free. Would 100% recommend staying in this lovely place and love to go back soon!

    Harry2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space! Close to a lovely little cafe and some great woodland and countryside walks. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely to fall asleep to the sound of the stream. The place was small but had everything you need. Good shower, comfy bed, great TV, WiFi, kitchen etc. The access to the bed on the mezzanine floor would be a little tricky for some as its basically a wooden ladder but we found it fine for our needs. Would come again!

  • Lovely little space amazing location very happy with our stay .

    Ashley2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here - great location for our mountain biking weekend! very peaceful and flat is much bigger then photos suggest! The decor is really lovely. Our only slight downside was that we found it quite cold - there was no central heating; a heater was provided, but found it didn't offer too much heat - the bathroom was very cold! Not sure I would like to stay more into winter! however we would definitely return in the summer :) We were also able to leave our car there after we checked out so we could head straight out on the bikes which was a bonus :)

    Sally2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This a great place to stay, and feels like your own cabin in the woods! We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts have made a great job of organising and decorating the space. There was everything we needed and if felt very homely. Would definitely recommend it!

Crowcombe Court is a Grade I listed Georgian manor house with 12 king size bedrooms which is located just outside Taunton (great for the cricket). The Great Hall makes for a grand entrance with fine examples of Italian plaster-work. There are over 10 acres to wander in made up of formal croquet lawns, a woodland walk and a small lake. In the local area there is fantastic walking on the Quantock Hills, beach is 30 mins drive away and local pub in walking distance.
There is a guest lounge/ TV room and a pool table and games room for use.
We are set in the heart of the Quantock Hills so there are many great walking tracks and outdoor pursuits. The local pub is in walking distance and there are a further many great pubs and restaurants within 20mins drive.
  • Felt like a princess! Crowcombe Court is a wonderful place to stay at. The service was great and the breakfast was very good. Would definitely recommend it and go and see the Quantock hills! Thanks for having us

  • The Bolthole is a fantastic place to stay, relax and unwind. The beds are very comfortable, bathroom is clean and shower is great. There is so much to do on-site. We were so happy to find somewhere where dogs were allowed to stay and this made our holiday perfect! We would absolutely love to come and stay again please!

    Ruth2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The bolt hole is a little gem! Sara has really put her love into this place with her art work on the walls and her personal descriptions of places to go and explore. It is cosy and comfortable with everything you need, including a secure garden for your furry friends. The site is quiet and friendly and can spend many an hour just listening to the sound of the sea and the waterfall without leaving the mobile home! The park has many places to explore including fields to let the dogs run. Woodland walks, and the private beach. But also plenty in the local area to see and do also. I would highly recommend the bolt hole for a quiet, relaxing, friendly place to take a break!

    Jenny2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s place is set in a woodland campsite alongside the coast. Two double bedrooms, generous living room and kitchen. Large garden with seating area. Heating is the fireplace in the living room and oven (wasn’t working during our stay). There is a lovely swimming pool which you have to book at the office but we had to ourselves. There is a shop and pub on site too which we didn’t use. We visited Blue Anchor, Minehead and Watchet. We spent a lovely morning sea fishing, very reasonable prices and a lovely group.

  • Perfect! Such a lovely bungalow, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Excellent hosts, there when needed, friendly and helpful, but also leaving us to come and go as we pleased. An ideal place for wandering the area, even in late January - and even nicer with the cosy wood burner. Extensive grounds to wander, and the best things for my grandson, who is already asking when we can return - a very friendly ram and a totally gorgeous dog, both of whom kept him very happily entertained! Thanks so much - looking forward to our next visit when the trains will be running!

The local village has a pub and a shop and there are multiple other nearby villages with plenty of eateries and other things to do. Julia was a fantastic host, leaving a few essentials for us in the kitchen. She was always quick to respond and is very friendly.

  • A great place that suited our plans perfectly for a weekend away. The locals in the pubs and Co-Op were very friendly. A short walk to the beach can be enjoyed from the cottage and there are some nice beaches a short drive away.

  • Very nice cottage, located right in the heart of Watchet. Very quiet and comfortable. We were basically using it as a base to visit family etc. But I'd heartily recommend as a play to stay. Neil was extremely responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

  • We visited with our 2 kids and 2 dogs. The caravan was lovely. It was spotlessly clean and exactly as described. There were beautiful fields to the back of the caravan and sea views to the front and the site was delightful and quiet. We enjoyed the use of the pool which you can book for private (or relatively private) use for 30minutes at the office. We all had fun on the beach looking for fossils, sea creatures etc. It was pretty windy and wet weather as we staying during storm Dennis but we were super cosy as the radiators heated it up quickly. The garden was secure for dogs so we could let them out for a wee and didn’t have to worry about them escaping. We would definitely go back.

  • This place is fantastic. Lots of space, cozy underfloor heating kept the whole place warm and snug. Loads of hot water with great powerful showers. Clean and comfy. Good facilities, modern with a great country feel. We were 3 adult women enjoying a lovely girls weekend, but would equally suit couples or a family of four, loads of space! Highly recommend as our expectations were exceeded!

The very subtle underfloor heating keeps it snug and the whole space is light and very spacious - much more space than we expected! Very comfortable place to stay in this charming, rural village and fascinating area. Brilliant!

  • Great location for all sorts of holidays, but particularly good as a base for walking in and around the Quantocks and over to Exmoor. Even in the storms this February it was, as headlined. warm and cosy. Based on a farm "Saffies" also provides a great opportunity to learn more about the challenges and enjoyment of farming in this beautiful area.

    Anthony2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy's place is lovely and perfectly situated to explore the many sights in the surrounding area. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and cosy and, it's true, the showers are great! If we are back in the area, I will seek to book again, as there is so much more to see!

    Maxine2020-02-05T00:00:00Z

A luxury fully self contained cabin set in our beautiful orchard. Lovely outdoor space with a log fired pizza oven. Plenty of parking on the farm. An ideal location for the West Somerset Coast, Quantock Hills and Exmoor. Walking distance of the West Somerset Steam railway. The village of Williton is within an easy stroll, plant of pubs, coffee shops, fish & chips and pubs. A fantastic footpath network runs from the farm. Interact with out horses and ponies or book a riding lesson if you wish.
Walk around the farm and stables, filled with our much loved horses and ponies, enjoy sunsets in the lovely orchard with a gin and tonic or cook pizza in the log fired pizza oven. On winter evenings snuggle up in from of the Woodburner and enjoy watching a favourite film on the smart tv.
The farm is right beside a footpath that links to both the West Somerset Coast Path and the Macmillan Way for fabulous walking. The West Somerset Railway is a short walk away and runs through the farm. You can arrive by public transport if you choose as there is a bus route nearby. We run a small but busy riding school on the farm, enjoy our wonderful horses and ponies or why not book a riding lesson? We are ideally located for the Quantock Hills and Exmoor, the harbour town of Watchet (do visit “Pebbles” tavern). Dunster Village and Castle are definitely worth a visit, Porlock Weir, Lynton and Lynmouth would definitely be high on the list too!
  • Fantastic shepherds hut. Lots of nice touches including a packet of custard creams!

  • Very cosy hut, perfect for two people. The underfloor heating offered a warm welcome from the cold-damp winter evenings. Great location for exploring the area by steam train (10 minute walk) and by car. Hope to return to explore more by foot and maybe horseback. Friendly welcome from the hosts, and staff, enjoyed the freedom to check out the stables and meet some of the equine residents.

    Ian2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little cabin in an easy to reach spot. We were made to feel welcome straight away which was lovely. The cabin itself was nice and warm and had everything we needed - even biscuits and milk! Thank you Jill 😊

This room is a double (4’6” bed) en suite with TV and WiFi. The room is clean, fresh, includes breakfast and is most suitable for anyone who wants to shower, sleep and go - great for local contractual workers (Hinkley Point), busy cyclists and committed walkers or if you are passing through or staying locally on a budget. There is the use of a shared kitchenette with microwave and dining space and garden. Great value if you want a great place to crash on a budget as opposed to four poster beds!
My space is aimed at people who want to crash for one or two nights or who want a room as a base for longer. There are two rooms - this being the larger - both are modern, recently built, clean, and each room has an en-suite, TV and Wifi and a wardrobe. There is a fridge and a microwave and kettle in the shared kitchenette. The rooms are designed to be aimed at people who need a clean and comfortable bed, a shower but who aren't requiring a more expensive 'experience' like four poster beds or bacon breakfasts. If you are here for work - particularly Hinkly Point - I am happy to discuss long stay arrangements.
There is lots of local interest spots within striking distance, the nearest being Dunster Castle if you like history. You can explore the coastline or the countryside without being too far away from 'civilisation' or too far a journey away from the M5. Watchet has a marina, popular music venues and pubs. There are several pubs in Williton for food and drink too.
  • A warm and friendly bolt hole if you’re on your way down West. Clair is a thoughtful host and her rooms are quiet, homely and even come with breakfast!

  • A very convenient place. The rooms were comfortable, and clean. The use of the kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities was very helpful. The separate living room was well stocked with games and breakfast was more than adequate. We rented both bedrooms.

  • We enjoy staying with Clair, very laid back, great host. Knowledgeable on local area, places to go and restaurants. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at breakfast, we didn't feel in a rush to get up. Definitely be staying again. Thank you Clair

  • Great place to stay. Was attending a nearby wedding at St Audries and Clair's place was only a 5 mins drive from there. Place was spotless with a great shower and a separate place to have breakfast.

  • Highly recommended for the facilities and attention to detail. Lovely location too !!

    Geoff2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had wonderful stay at Clair's over the weekend. Straight after booking Clair messaged with detailed and concise information on how to find the house, codes for key box and local restaurants and pubs. We'd been on a long hike during the day so had to push back our arrival time, Clair was quick to reply to my update messages and was there to great us when we arrived, with her lovely dog. The room and en suit was sparkling clean with towels provided. The kitchen area was well stocked with tea and coffee and the small living space just off from the kitchen was cosy and very comfortable. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast with a range of cereals and toast and jam. Overall, considering Clair's house is 30 seconds to the nearest pub and a short drive from Minehead, we won't hesitate to book again if we plan another visit, and for such a reasonable price. Thanks, Clair!
