Welcome to the small CHATEAU IN THE TREES.The Apt is in the heart of the East Village Manhattan, considered by many to be one of the most dynamic neighborhoods of the world. You will have an entire studio apartment to yourselves, Charming and Quiet as you can get.Designed, decorated and furnished in a French Style of Decor. The apartment has a beautiful garden view with many trees. You Hear no traffic noise just birds chirping away, truly special for NYC. Apt faces south so you get plenty of light.
I grew up in New York City and this is the quietest apartment I have ever had. You will have an entire studio apartment to yourselves. The view out the window of all the trees are a rare find and creates such a peaceful setting. I have never heard so many birds before in New York City, it’s a symphony of song in the morning. The apartment has a Queen size bed and a very wide modern couch that turns into a bed for a single person by moving the single portion of the couch to the bottom part of the love seat portion of the couch to create a long comfortable bed for a 3rd person. I hope you will enjoy the decor, it has a european feel towards the French side. You will be in the heart of the East Village in Manhattan, considered to be one of the most exciting and dynamic neighborhoods of the world, a true New York City experience. Just step right out the door and you will have everything at your feet. Enjoy, have fun and please be respectful of the neighbors and keep the noise down to a minimum in the apartment. PLEASE ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IN THE APARTMENT OR THE FIRE ESCAPE OR IN THE HALLWAYS.
This is the East Village one of the most dynamic, exciting and energetic neighborhoods of the world. In the heart of down town Manhattan. The best of everything New York City has to offer is just a step out the door. A true New York City experience. Enjoy!!

  • place is just as described! clean, cozy little studio with some lovely old world touches. the building is a walk-up, but it is a manageable two flights of stairs. the area around the apartment is full of things to do and see. we appreciated the provided coffee and tea supplies in the kitchen and the bed was very comfortable! stefanie was very easy to communicate with and kept us updated in a timely manner!

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 500+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods, the largest Trader Joe's on the east coast and few blocks from the new Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Super nice and spacious apartment in a vibrant neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay. Carol and Marc were extremely accommodating , helpful and friendly. Super comfy bed too! Would highly recommend!

    Matt2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing stay at Carol and Marc’s place. I felt like I was at home or staying with relatives. That’s how comfortable and welcoming they were. The place was as described. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, very clean. Carol and Marc made great suggestions for breakfast and dinner. They went above and beyond what was expected of them. The bed was so comfortable. I wish the weather was nicer so we could have taken advantage of the terrace (next time). I highly recommend Carol and Marc’s place. This is the place you want to stay when visiting New York. Everything you can think of is just outside there door.

    Emmanuelle2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a large, clean and comfortable 3rd floor apartment with keyed elevator. Felt completely safe walking around at night. Very quiet street. Just 3 blocks to metro and trains taking you uptown. Great coffee shops and lots of cultures and cuisines to explore nearby. The hosts know every nook and cranny of the lower east side, so ask for their recommendations. Would stay there again.

    Ann2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a shared apartment. Marc and Carol live in the back when you are there. It is an amazing place in a great location. Marc and Carol are kind and respect your space and are also engaging if you are. It is a great way to feel at home away from home in NYC.

    Jason2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Marc and Carol. They both are delightful hosts and had so many suggestions for us first timers to NYC. We were given a guide ahead of time of so many things to do, places to see, and places to eat. Check in was super easy and a bit early, which didn’t seem to be a problem at all this particular day. Marc gave a short tutorial showing us how to get in the building and how to use the elevator. It was great not to have to navigate stairs with suitcases. The apartment was spacious and spotless and we had access to everything we needed. Having shampoo, conditioner, and body wash already there for us to use was nice. Especially since you don’t have to pack it in your suitcase, which makes it a bit lighter for the airport. We didn’t use the kitchen much as we didn’t want to cook for ourselves, but it seemed to have everything you’d need if you did decide to cook. The internet was great and there were lots of choices for tv streaming services. After a long day of walking outside in the cold, it was nice to get back, curl up on the sofa with lots of pillows, have a nice fire in the fireplace, and watch a little tv. Only bad thing was that we didn’t have enough time to see and do all the things we wanted. Well, that means we’ll need to come back and we will have this fantastic place to stay!

    Kathleen2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Carol and Mark are very nice and very welcoming. I love the location to be able to walk everywhere. Again, I highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

    William2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AMAZING - the pictures don’t do it justice (the tub is a jacuzzi!)!! Carol and Marc were consummate hosts, their hospitality generous without being intrusive. The location is so close to the subway, we were able to easily travel throughout the city with no trouble at all, and the area was and felt safe at all times. We can’t wait to return to the city and spend more time there!!! Thank you 😊

    Kelly2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ahhhhh :) what an amazing way to experience NYC. Firstly entering the apartment via an elevator set the mood immediately for the most new yorky stay ever! The apartment is amazing, all the beds all comfy, the shower lush, and the location brilliant. So much quieter than staying Central, which we loved. But not far away from anything! Close to subway and bus stops. And if you are tired (or have tired kids who don’t want to walk after you’ve been to the theatre) an Uber doesn’t break the bank to here either. Marc is just the sweetest gentleman and Carol is just lovely. Felt safe, felt welcome. Thank you guys :) I hope our paths cross again. Big loves xx

Private bedroom (75 sq ft) with full mattress fits two comfortably. South facing windows get great sunlight. Full closet & dresser draws. Fresh Linens and towels always provided. Iron and hair dryer provided. Walkup apt (no elevator). Full bath, kitchen, living room (with entertainment center), and roof deck also included as shared spaces. Vibrant neighborhood (main factor in listing price). Spaced shared with me & another guest. Understand that these older buildings aren't especially spacious.
Fairly historic building representing the classic east village neighborhood. Spiral staircase in the apartment leads to a private roof deck with a gorgeous view of lower Manhattan. In nicer weather, there will be a full hammock set up which fits two. Reiterating here that this apartment is not sprawling and huge. Do not expect that.
Arguably Manhattan's most vibrant neighborhood in terms of live music, fine art, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Very close to the quaint Tompkins Sq park, home to the city's first dog run. Major subway line extremely close to the apartment. Public transit is ample. This is real NYC, far from the typical tourist traps.
  • Great place, Joe is super friendly and the rooftop view is amazing

  • Great location of the apartment, quiet neighborhood, street facing apartment which gives the exact New York experience, host is amazing, there is a coffee/tea set up, along with the water from the water cooler machine. The bed was so comfy, making it hard to part with in the mornings when i was going out in the city. Value matches the experience and comfort! 👌

Apartment share on a quiet street in a lively neighborhood, this 2nd-fl walk-up is just blocks from NYU, Washington Sq Pk, SoHo, and Lower East Side. Grab Michelin-rated sushi or $3 PBRs within 50 feet (15 m) of the front door. East Village diversity at its finest.
Your large bedroom has a queen size mattress with a memory foam topper that is very comfortable. There's also a full-size air mattress for one extra guest. The room gets a lot of light from the large windows. The curtains and blinds keep it nice and dark at night. You will have access to the shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom. There is wi-fi, an Apple TV, cable TV and everything you need to feel right at home. The bedroom faces a rear courtyard, so street noise is minimal to non-existent. You may hear an occasional garden party. If they get too loud, let me know and I'll take care of it.
The East Village is socially and culturally diverse without being pretentious. New York's immigrant origins, 70s punk scene, and current food renaissance all energetically coexist in the East Village like nowhere else in Manhattan. You can seriously get Michelin-rated sushi or three-dollar PBRs within 50 feet (15 m) of the front door. Its residents, an unlikely mix of businesspeople, artists, laborers, designers, and nomads anachronistically make themselves at home among Old New York's Gilded Age and Pre-war brick-and-stone architectural hand-me-downs. Midtown's steel-and-glass landscape and the West Village's yuppie homogeneity haven't invaded the East Village...yet.

  • Sne is a wonderful host. The room was nice and cozy and very clean. It was also very quiet at night. We got some really useful tips on restaurants and other places to visit in New York. Sne even offered us delicious freshly baked bread. I definitely recommend to stay at Sne's apartment.

    Eugenia2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Just a fantastic place to stay with a wonderfully welcoming host in lower Manhattan. Convenient location , cool neighborhood, stylish, clean and surprisingly quiet room. Sne has truly mastered the art of air bnb hosting. I can't recommend any higher!

    Ruth2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I would stay again with Sne. The place was very close to lots of different subway lines. There was lots of nice places to eat around the East Village. Sne also went above and beyond such as carrying my heavy suitcase up the stairs, and offering me coffee in the morning. The room was lovely and spacious which was such a blessing. I would love to stay again

    Claire2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sne's apartment is clean, sunny and super convenient to getting around the city. More quiet than we expected, despite having with a bar and a coffee shop steps away from the front door. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be close to the East Village and NYU, with easy access to the rest of Manhattan and even Brooklyn.

    Shelby2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Reliable, low cost for New York. The host is very accommodating and has a wicked sense of humor! He has a little booklet filled with tips about the area and NY in general!

    Maria2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sne’s place is absolutely amazing and Sne himself is awesome! The best Airbnb host we’ve ever had. Sne put together an awesome guide to the neighborhood with food recommendations and we had so much fun going on a food crawl around the East Village. He let us check in early, was super helpful and communicative, and was sooo friendly. The only “down” side to this is now we never want to stay anywhere else in New York! I would say this is a good problem to have. We will be back for sure!

This is an amazing studio apartment on the ground floor with a loft feel. All surfaces scrubbed and disinfected for your stay during this time. Enjoy these affordable safe accommodations in Manhattan's most exciting, diverse, authentic and hippest neighborhood. A Queen size bed perfect for a single traveler or couple with the flexibility of a twin size floor mattress for an additional person. Not upscale, but comfy clean with attention to sterile surfaces and viral prevention/disenfectant.
For sleeping there is one Queen size regular bed, another twin size mattress in the closet that can be taken out and used as a floor mattress and a large non-fold out couch for a child or small adult.
The is the East Village of Manhattan!!!! Do you have to ask? Haha! This is the cultural center of the capital of the world! Have fun!
  • This place was amazingly clean and the host was very kind. During these crazy times, having a clean, safe place to stay was so reassuring.

  • Wonderful, clean, cool space. As one-room studio apartments go, it's large. Relatively quiet street (at least on a Thursday) but with good access to bars and restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend.

Bedroom in the heart of the trendiest neighborhood on Manhattan. Buzzing with life from bars, restaurants and boutiques giving a real New Yorker experience along with easy subway transit minutes away to all tourist attractions.
East Village double bedroom in gay friendly and social walk up apartment. We have a clean bright and very quiet true NY apartment in the center of the East Village with tons of bars, restaurants, boutiques and Tompkin Sq Park/Union Sq just outside the door. A fully functional kitchen as well as toiletries and towels included for the shower(just bring your toothbrush!). Two Blocks from the L-train that will take you to both the west side and trendy Willamsburg. We have a lot of knowledge of the area and the city for activities and nightlife. The apartment can be social or as private as you wish and we love meeting new people and sharing our NYC experience. Occasionally work from home but for the most part the apartment will seem like your own. We are very easy going and will accommodate the best we can with your traveling schedule and any needs you may have when you arrive.
The East Village is my favorite neighborhood! It is quite, trendy and super safe but still very active. There are so many great bars, restaurants and little shops all over and great to explore without all the tourist chaos! Please check out the guidebook for some of my favorite places in the city! :)

  • Located in East Village, this place is close to stores and the metro making everything accessible. Note that Each room has its' different style and the rooms are considerably large in my opinion. Would definetly come back again.

  • Seth’s place was amazingly stylish and unique. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to meet Seth personally, but his boyfriend Sam was lovely. Communication with Seth was always very good and Sam was extremely helpful when it came to finding my way to the house from the airport! The house is incredible well located and as a solo traveler I felt quite safe walking around the area really early in the mornings and in the evenings.

  • Thank you to Lili for letting us stay in her cozy apartment in the LES. It is a good location and is very accessible, yet safe. I had some questions regarding check-in and Lili answered the phone right away and stayed on the phone until I was able to fully check-in, which I appreciate. Thank you Lili for making our stay in New York a fabulous one!

    Nadine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • As a host on Airbnb I can say that Lili is one of the best hosts in Airbnb! It was a plesure.

    Aviv2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lili was super helpful throughout the stay and the house was clean.

    Milka2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lili’s place is excellently located in lower east side, lots of cool local bars and an easy walk to the subway. The bed is very comfortable. It is simply furnished and clean and good value for money for a short stay. If you wanted to cook at home you’d need a little more equipment but most people just get food out and about or take out. The sofa bed is a little uncomfortable, but again for a short stay manageable. Lili is an excellent host in that she checks up on how you’re getting on, and on the occasion we had a plumbing issue she resolved it within the day without any inconvenience to us. Checking in was easy too. All in all I would recommend her place.

    Zia2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lili's stay was perfect for our trip. It was in a great location, close to alot of cafes, bars, restaurants all within walking distance. It's close to the subway and Williamsburg is a short stroll over the bridge. The property is alot bigger than it seems from the photos and was the perfect place to recharge after long days exploring new York. We had a great time staying here and would definitely recommend

  • We had a wonderful stay at Lili's place. It was cozy and located in a great area of the lower east side. She was so helpful with check in and check out and was just a phone call away during our stay. We hope to stay here again during our next visit to the city.

This is East Village, it's the best neighborhood in NYC. Lots of bars and restaurants. easy to walk to soho, union Square, close to the subway. • I recently stayed at Seith's amazing duplex for a work trip and I absolutely LOVED the apartment. I come to NYC at least once a month and always try to say in different parts of the city. I have to say, this has been my best stay yet! The apartment is HUGE and although it was just me, I thoroughly enjoyed all the extra space which is unheard of in the city. It was really easy to find and a quick walk to the subway station and some great restaurants. AMAZING value for the price. It was really cozy and I love that there's a balcony right off the upstairs bedrooms. I will absolutely try to book this place again and would not mind staying here every time I come to the city for work. P.S. Seith was very responsive over the chat! He even let me leave my bag in the building after check out so I could explore East Village a little before catching my flight. EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE.

  • What a lovely experience to share yoga with Lucas in such a magical space. We felt fully welcomed, embraced—-this was a very special experienced filled with humanity and heart. Thank you Lucas! Namaste.

  • Great place for our group to gather! I booked Seith's place (and the 2 bedroom below) for a group of friends in town for a wedding. This was the perfect space for us all to be able to enjoy each other's company, cook breakfast together and relax on the sofas. It's a bit dated and felt crowded with 9 people, but without question there were plenty of sheets, towels, and sleeping surfaces, and it's excellent value for the location and amount of space.

    Genevieve2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a great location with bars and great places to eat a short walk away, the apartment is well set up with loads of space (especially for NYC), check in and out were a breeze - thanks for hospitality Seith

    Toby2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great trip and right in the center of everything I wanted to see this trip.

    Sean2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • There are definitely a LOT of stairs as stated in the listing. The stairs inside the apartment can be quite slippery so be cautious. Large space and in a great location!

NOTE: Due to Coronavirus we are completely disinfecting the room after every guest while cleaning. We also will be providing disinfectant spray for every guest to use. A cozy, quiet and safe space, right in the East Village. The 1st Ave L train station is a block (2 mins) away connects to every subway line in Manhattan, and just 1 stop to Brooklyn Williamsburg, which means quick and easy access to the most famous attractions, including Times Square, Central Park, best Restaurants, Bars, etc.
The apartment is on the second floor, the room is small but has a window, high ceiling with a full size loft bed, a comfortable space. Fully furnished with a couch bed, lamp, air-conditioning, desk, chair, mirror, drawer etc. And your room has it's own lock and key. The apartment is a wing type 2 bedroom, there is a kitchen and bathroom between the 2 bedrooms, so its a pretty private space. There is a laundry 2 buildings away. Please note that to use the bed you need to climb up and down a bunk bed ladder. There is no sink in the bathroom but there is one right outside the bathroom in front of your room. We keep the space very clean and are rarely in there so you can use any facilities we have.
  • Amazing stay! Would definitely visit again.

  • The apartment is really cute, with a nice and spacious room for guests with a king size bed and a large couch. Staying with Linnea&Shogo was nice, the guys are friendly and precise on information for guests and ready to help for necessities. Hope to saty again with them on future occasions! Thanks!!

    Andrea2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts and the place is just as described. The thing that surprised me the most was how dark and quiet my room was at night--that's not something East Village is known for. I slept wonderfully each night. They warned me that the heat in the room can get intense, which is pretty normal for an NYC apartment, but I actually found it pretty cozy and didn't need to use the fans or open the window.

    Lauren2020-02-29T00:00:00Z

    Christine2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Zev was a great host. Communication is key and he was great at getting back to me promptly. I loved that he had a bed bug mattress cover on the mattress due to a past experience it gave me peace of mind. Easy access to subway. The only thing that could have been there in addition to the towels was some washcloths and maybe adding some instructions for the booking about how the keys work when unlocking both doors. Great stay and awesome experience!

THE APARTMENT: The room and bathroom are located at one end of the apartment anchored by the kitchen. The bathroom and bedroom are for your private use alone and the kitchen is a shared space. My section of the apartment is off limits and is separated by a hanging divider. THE BEDROOM: Your room is private with a non-key lock on the door (fire regulations state that egress to fire escape cannot be locked and the bedroom is the only exit to the fire escape). The queen size platform bed comes complete with a dreamy memory gel mattress, memory foam pillows and brushed microfiber sheets. Sheer drapes let a ton of sun through two north facing windows, but there are also blackout drapes located in the dresser if you prefer the room to be dark. I have recently switched bed frames to accommodate a larger mattress. Air conditioning is provided from May 1st until October 15th. Heat is not controlled in unit and kicks on/off automatically dictated by the temperature outside--apartment generally runs hot in the winter but you're welcome to open the window. There is a 55" LED TV where you can enjoy Netflix & Amazon Fire TV. I do not subscribe to cable so if that is a deal breaker, please try another listing. There is ample dresser space for your clothing and belongings and an empty closet to hang stuff in and store your luggage. Plenty of towels and linens are provided. A small desk allows you to work and/or browse on your laptop. And for those rainy days, you will find books and games on the shelf as well.
If you’re looking for an authentic NYC vibe, the East Village is definitely the place to be during your stay in Manhattan. It's a real neighborhood with REAL people and plenty of culture, food, and general awesomeness. Old tenements, bodegas and small businesses meet chic cocktail and wine bars, upscale restaurants and cozy coffee shops. Residents range from original punk rockers to old-school nimbys to young families to NYU students. You can literally walk EVERYWHERE and everything you need is within arms reach.
  • Kim’s room setup is truly ideal for any traveler. It’s cozy and very conveniently located to some really cool parts of New York City. The venue we were in town for was at Joe’s Pub and it was a perfect walking distance, not to mention the delicious eateries along the way. The room and place itself was incredibly clean and adorable decorated. The bed was definitely comfortable and although the outside temperatures were in the 20s/30s, we were always cozy. And oh my, the laundry smelled amazing! We would definitely stay here again and love the area! We’ll see you again soon New York!

  • Great crash pad in East Village. I had the place to my self. I didn’t realize it until my last nite but it was great. I never met the host but she was very prompt in replies to my questions. My new favorite spot for LES

  • Great place to stay with our kids. The neighborhood is great. Many options for shopping and dining.

    Ryan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah was just a perfect host! Proactive and very friendly! Having lived in the city for 10 years, I know that finding something spacious to rent can be hard. There were four of us on a Mom/Daughter trip, and we were so very comfortable. We logged about 50 miles on foot in 3 and 1/2 days, and the condo was very convenient for touring around. The East Village is full of energy and interesting food, drink and music. It is the place to be whether you are a city newbie or a veteran. We will definitely try to book Deborah first when we are heading to NYC next time!

    Kate2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • As former East Village/Alphabet City residents, my friends and I really enjoyed being back in the old neighborhood for a few days, and Deborah's apartment was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of amenities to help it feel like a real home. Next time I come to the city I would like to stay there again.

    Denise2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's place is palatial by NYC standards. We had room to spread out with 4 of us in the place. The apartment was so clean. Deborah was quick to respond to every message and accommodating. She checked in throughout our stay and was quite simply a delight to work with. The East Village has such a great vibe. There is a bodega across the street, great bars and nightlife around every corner, and easy access to public transit. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah was fantastic. Communication was a breeze and great location.

    Ty2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic spot to spend time in NYC! Great location in a wonderful, dynamic neighbourhood. The large living area was perfect for our family and gave our teenage sons enough space to make our stay tension-free. Deborah was an excellent host, answering all questions promptly. Cannot recommend highly enough

    Fiona2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. Very spacious, clean and in a good location. Our host Deborah was very accommodating and made checking in and out easy. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the bnb. Only thing is that it is pretty far from the subway but there’s a bus stop close by that will take you straight to one. Will definitely book this place again the next time I am in New York.

    Mat2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This space was located in a great location for exploring NYC. Deborah was always quick to respond. The space was accurately portrayed as listed. We didn't get to enjoy the yard as it was January in NY, but it looked amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Read our recent 2019 guests ☆☆☆☆☆ reviews (MAY ☆ JUNE ☆ JULY) Newly painted and renovated!! Cute new furniture and amenities! 2 BDR Apartment! 1 bathroom and a cute living room area with a futon bed that can sleep one adult or two children (full size). There is queen bed in one bedroom and two single beds in the other. East Village is the best part of Manhattan!
My New York City AIRBNB listing is legal. It is okay to rent rooms in a townhouse/family home and this is exactly the case. NEWLY RENOVATED!! This place is close to everything, it's in an amazing little building that I own on 6th Street and 2nd Avenue, I have two other listings in the building: DUPLEX: https://abnb.me/tI5zUmkYZX & STUDIO: https://abnb.me/WGWbmwZyXX This is one floor apartment. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and two single beds in the other room. There is a nice futon bed in the living area that sleeps 1 adult or 2 small children. Small fridge, coffee maker in the flat. It has a nice bathroom with tub. There is a cooking area on the first floor, which is shared with studio guests on the first floor. AC's on each room and living room area. The apartment comes with fresh sheets. This is by far the hottest area of Manhattan to live at the moment, the subway N R and 6 is 2 1/2 blocks away, F is 5 short blocks away and L is 8. Q & A:: Q: I believe the ad said that it's flexible check-in/check-out...is there an absolute time we have to check in by or check out by? In other words, what's the latest we can check in or check out (we arrive in New York at 5:40pm)? A: You can leave bags until 9pm in kitchen Q: When does the cleaning lady come? Also, is she optional? Some people are worried about having someone go through their stuff… A: Before you arrive and after you leave. Q: How many sets of keys will we be given? Can we have four sets since some of us will be going in and out at different times? A: 2 but you can make copies on 7st 2av hardware store for 2 dollars – you should leave those copies before checking out. Please don't buzz all apartments because you forgot keys; call me, there is a backup key in a restaurant, and I can arrange for it. Also, if you need to arrive late there is a way to leave you a key, please ask me and I will explain. Q: If something goes wrong (with the plumbing, electrical or whatever) who do we call? Will we be left someone's contact info? A: Call me , I have a plumber and carpenter on call. there is a sticker with plumber number on the boilers and water heaters in real emergency. the restaurant on the first floor helps you out. Q: Will you be stopping by the place during our stay? (Some people have read reviews about owners showing up without notice) A: No. Q: Is there anything we should be aware of? Maintenance issues, noises, weird neighbors.... A: Just don’t buzz all apts at 2am. Don't write me a message if you really don't want to book just to see if I reply, I get tons of messages and I reply to every one of them. Thanks for reading, by renting this you are helping me pay for Stanford ;) •#HASHTAG#_ABSOLUTELY_NO_PARTYING! •#HASHTAG Seriously! No loud partying inside. •This is a 2nd floor walk-up. Must climb stairs. Free workout! •No smoking •Check-in time 24 hours available. •We expect our guests to respect night time with quiet hours starting at 11 PM until 7 AM; •Respect neighbors and our lovely neighborhood!
The East Village is known for its happening nightlife. Old-school bars, music venues and performance spaces share the streets with posh cocktail lounges, hip restaurants. Daytime sees a more laid-back crowd browsing boutiques, vintage shops and tattoo parlors, and dining at casual cafes. Once the epicenter of the city's punk scene, St. Mark's Place now features of-the-moment fast-food eateries and souvenir shops.
  • Seiths place was perfect. Walking distance from the subway, local bars, food places. Check in and check out was easy.

    Ricardo2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for our group to gather! I booked Seith's place including the duplex above for a group of friends in town for a wedding. This was the perfect space for us all to be able to enjoy each other's company, cook breakfast together and relax in the sunny spaces. It's a bit dated, but without question there were plenty of sheets, towels, and it's excellent value for the location and amount of space.

    Genevieve2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great space and location ! 10/10 would recommend

    Alex2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Love where it’s at. Be careful of the steep stairs (especially for older folks)...it’s a sign of an old building but it was clean. The price was a value for the area. Be wary of the bar revelers on Friday & Saturday nights...the vibe of the night life was electric!

    Peter2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in a nice area of East Village, neat little apartment, everything was absolutely fine. Easy access, however you do need to walk up some a couple of flights of stairs (no elevator access) - so be aware if you don't like carrying your luggage up stairs! Pretty quiet street too for Manhatten! Definately reccommend

    Leah2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place close to everything in NYC. Very convenient plenty of space.

    Nick2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and basecamp for the city. Place was clean and comfortable and Seith was easy to work with

    Kenny2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment in a fantastic location for access to anywhere in Manhattan, but especially downtown and East Village which is such a cool area. We were a family of 4 incl 2 teenagers so the second split room was perfect for them. The shared kitchen facilities are only really good to fix a quick snack or for tea/coffee. We ate out all the time so wasn’t an issue for us. Lots of very local places for breakfast/brunch/lunch and dinner. Near subway too. Check in/out was faultless and the host provides great comms. Would recommend. Thanks Seith!

Location, location, location! Did I mention location? Just renovated, my apt is situated around the corner from the metro, across the street from Whole Foods. Street parking + 2 garages up the block, 3-minute walk to SoHo, Nolita and Lower East Side. Brand new bathroom, 2nd floor, high-end mattresses, bedding and towels, 2 TVs, 2 ACs, WiFi, iron with the iron board. Att: This is a classic railroad style apt with 3 rooms separated by doors. The middle room is a walkthrough. No full-size kitchen.
My apt is uniquely configured and is ideal for 4 people. It has an exposed brick wall throughout, queen size bed, queen size convertible couch and a twin size convertible sofa sleeper (memory foam mattress). 400 thread count sheets, goose down comforters and pillows (memory foam available) will ensure you will get a good night sleep. 2 TVs with cable and Netflix plus Xbox will keep you entertained at night. 3 heaters, 2 ACs, Iron with ironing board. There is no full size kitchen in this apt so if you are planning to cook this may not be the right space for you. There is a mini kitchen with a fridge, microwave, hot water kettle and paper plates/cups /plastic utensils. There are approx 250 amazing restaurants within 10 block radius to make up for the lack of proper kitchen.
East Village is one of NYC's most exciting neighborhoods with its authentic dining from world's best cuisines, galleries , theaters and nightlife. In fact our block is home to 4 restaurants including famous Prune, 2 bars and 3 galleries. Lower East Side, Soho, Noho, Little Italy, West Village and Alphabet City are only minutes away.
  • Zev’s place was amazing. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our weekend stay. Check in was pretty easy, and the location of the place itself was super convenient. Lots of good food options and bars nearby. We definitely recommend this place.

    Lamar2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great working stay with a small team at Zev'z place, location is excellent and all worked exactly as planned, Zev had clear and precise instructions for everything. Can recommend!

    Akseli2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a week at Zev’s place with my husband and two kids (7 and 10). We needed somewhere with enough beds that the kids didn’t have to share and was within our budget. Having read some of the other reviews I was concerned about how warm the apartment would be especially being February but the plug in heaters were more than sufficient and in fact we only used them a couple of times. The apartment was clean and is in a great location with lots of food places and a subway near by which we used daily for exploring NYC. The bathroom is small but this didn’t bother us as everything worked well, nice hot shower, clean towels provided etc. The beds were all comfy with clean bedding. We thought the apartment was surprisingly quiet. Considering its near a busy road and opposite a homeless charity we had no problem with noice from neighbours or the street. I should say that we also had absolutely no issues with the homeless people hanging around near the apartment. Zev is a great host, when we arrived the sofa beds were missing sheets but he literally sorted this out for us within a matter of minutes. Five star apartment and host.

    Anya2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT PLACE!!! The location is literally phenomenal, everything was well described and easy to understand as far as check in and house rules go. Would definitely recommend this spot to anybody with a small party looking to be close to soho. I my self will be interested in using this space for the future. Thanks Zev.

And the subway is literally half a block away. And did I mention a couple of super friendly watering holes nearby? Rated as the best AirBnB in New York, and one of the Top 10 AirBnBs in the world. Don't just visit New York and stay in a boring 5 star hotel. Instead, live the true New York life and have an experience you won't forget. This is a one-of-a-kind designer NYC penthouse apartment with a PRIVATE ROOF TERRACE! It's perfectly located in the heart of Manhattan and has incredible views of the Empire State Building. It's a true hidden gem that you have to experience first-hand!
The most unique aspect of this penthouse is the large private roof terrace with an oversized sofa bed and view of the NYC skyline. It's particularly stunning at night when it's lit up by beautiful lights. The penthouse also features: - Chic white floorboards and quaint exposed brick walls - Dreamy white canopy over your bed - Indoor mahogany rope swing (which you can actually swing on) - High loft ceilings with skylights (this much natural light is a rarity in NYC) - Spiral staircase wrapped in fairy lights - straight from a 90's movie dream! - Nebula projector with Smart TV (which is great for cosy nights watching Netflix with a glass of wine in hand) - NEW extremely comfortable Casper mattress - Luxury linens and towels (the sheets have a 700 thread count) - In-apartment washing machine and dryer (which is very rare in New York) - Unique natural plants, including a cactus and hanging vines over your dining table for a romantic evening - Views from the bed to the One World Trade Center (the perfect way to wake up) - New stainless steel kitchen appliances, including a De'Longhi coffee/expresso machine and a Ninja blender/smoothie maker for all your acai bowls - Designer lighting, including a photographer studio lamp, rare salt crystal lamps and custom-made branch with hanging lights - Unique mirrors, including a natural edge full-length floor mirror and a hanging Palladian mirror We also offer two one-of-a-kind experiences on our NYC rooftop: >> ROOFTOP BED EXPERIENCE. When else are you going to sleep outside under the NYC skyline? This experience involves a fully-made private queen bed on the rooftop. That way you can stargaze and wake up on the top of New York from the comfort of a private outdoor bed. A very unique experience that you can't have anywhere else in Manhattan. Bedding (sheets, duvet, pillows) and accessories are provided as well as wine, chocolate, and fresh fruit. >> ROOFTOP CINEMA EXPERIENCE. Sign up for the ULTIMATE romantic experience. Enjoy one of your favorite movies under the stars and NYC skyline. We will set up the projector for you, make the rooftop bed (with soft pillows, a warm white duvet, and 600 thread count organic cotton sheets) and provide you with wine and snacks (chocolate, popcorn, fruit, dips and crackers). We can accommodate dietary restrictions. We created our dream rooftop cinema and believe it to be so truly breathtaking that we would feel guilty not sharing it with others. These add-ons are for a small additional fee. Please note the following rules: - No parties - No smoking or drug-use either indoors or on the private roofdeck
Having lived in all different parts of New York (including Soho, West Village, Chelsea and Williamsburg), this is by far my favorite area! There are hundreds of amazing bars, restaurants, cafes and boutique shops all within a 30 second walk. It is impossible to get bored or to run out of things to do! It's also only a short walk to Washington Square Park, Whole Foods and Tompkins Park.
  • Terrific apartment and extremely responsive host! This apartment is full of romance and style. Excellent location in the heart of the East Village - close to so many great neighborhoods. Street is quiet, and the view from the roof deck (looking north) is AMAZING! You will be in walking distance to scores of excellent and interesting bars, restaurants, and shops, not to mention a few blocks from Katz’s Deli, the site of the famous “I’ll have what she’s having” scene from When Harry Met Sally. (Walk a little more to Delaney Street for the most outrageously good pie in the world at Peetie’s Pies.) Very high ceilings with sky lights and comfortable bed.

  • Jen's place was very spacious and airy. It lives much larger than other places in the area. Many of the finishing touches in the place have been updated nicely and the layout is good. In good weather, the rooftop sitting area is a great place to have a drink and enjoy the city view. It's a nice place and is just steps away from a Starbuck's on one corner and a great Italian restaurant on the other. Frankie's pizza is also very close and we thought that was some of the best pizza in the city.

    Tony2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was easily one of our favorite Airbnb's. The apartment was amazing with outstanding views. It was very stylishly decorated, you could tell someone with interior design skill was behind it. We highly recommend this stay and will be back ourselves!

    Ryan2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and beautifully set up. Does require you to take 5 flights of stairs to get to the apartment, so be weary. Close to the subway and soho, cosy apartment with an amazing rooftop view. Jen was exceptional with her communication.

    Evan2019-12-10T00:00:00Z

  • Because of COVID-19 we weren’t actually able to stay here - but as soon as we can reschedule, I hope to reserve Patty’s place again. She has been delightful to communicate with, and I would recommend her on that basis alone.

  • The loft in Chinatown was very comfortable and surrounded by excellent food within walking distance. Chinatown and Little Italy blocks away. Getting to midtown and Brooklyn easy on the subway. Patty was helpful and quick with communication. Hoping to stay again in the future

  • Really, really nice place. The location is Perfect and Patricia is such a nice host! She gave us loads of tips and suggestions! The place is super cozy and neat!

  • I liked the look of the apartment online but in real life it was even better! Really cool, cozy feel - We felt right at home. The location is great to get around both Manhattan and Brooklyn. I had thought NY would be really noisy, but it felt quiet and safe at Patty's apartment. Would definitely recommend.

    Rowan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Patricia's is the perfect location for discovering and enjoying NYC.

  • A great space for the two of us. We enjoyed having a fully self contained space for our trip. It was close to a couple of subway lines. Heaps of restaurants around. The apartment felt very relaxed and homely which was great!

  • We absolutely loved staying at Patty’s place. She was the best host ever. The apartment was nicely located, not far from well connected tube stops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. If I have friends coming in the future I’d recommend her every time. Always replies to queries on Airbnb within the hour and goes above and beyond to accommodate guests. Thanks Patty! X

Amazing two story apartment on Houston and Orchard with large Terrace and a beautiful view of the City , right at the intersection of SOHO, East Village and The Lower East Side ( LES ). NYC , New York City
Amazing Lower East Side apartment that not only has two floors (which is basically unheard of in New York) but also has a massive 300 sq foot terrace with views of both the Empire State Building and the Freedom Tower. Better yet, the terrace is shared with only one other tenant (and he’s basically never home). The first floor of the apartment has a fully stocked galley kitchen, bathroom, and living room with a pullout couch that can comfortably sleep two (probably a couple more but I’m not gonna judge) and a dining room table next to the window. Upstairs is just big enough for the queen sized bed, with a door leading to the terrace. We’re located right at the intersection of SOHO, the East Village, and the Lower East Side. One block from the F train and three blocks from the JMZ trains, you’re literally steps away from the heart of New York City’s nightlife, but high up enough that you don’t have to worry about sleeping through the night. One note: The photos of the downstairs on this profile are a little out of date. (I’m working on new ones.) I’ve upgraded to a bigger couch and moved a few things around to better utilize the space. While I have the apartment professionally cleaned before every guest, it’s not the place for anyone who’s looking for hospital corners on the bed and everything pristine and brand new. But if you’re looking for something interesting, unique, well situated and well kept then my apartment is the spot. And bonus: the place comes with two awesome cats. They’ll likely remain in the apartment with food and water, but they’re super low maintenance — all they ask is a cuddle or two.
  • Awesome location with killer views from the rooftop. Evan was easy to communicate with and his cats were such a fun addition to the stay. It’s kind of refreshing to stay in someone’s home, not just an investment property. I was ok with it but be aware you have to walk up 8 or so flights of stairs so if mobility is an issue it might not be the best place :) all in all great stay!

    Betsy2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My group and I are so happy to have chosen this location for our weekend getaway! The cats were absolutely adorable and super cuddly!! The place had a great home feeling to it! The view was also amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone!

    Vanessa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in the heat of NYC. Nestled in a really vibrant area and plenty of space inside. Highly recommend.

  • Excellent place and outstanding location. Cats are super friendly. Rooftop has great views. Would definitely stay again.

  • It was great location and really nice orner the check in and check out was super easy

    Ori2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay if you’re traveling alone or have a partner with you. If you don’t mind a 6th floor walk-up, the view you’ll have on that rooftop terrace is unbelievable. Evan was extremely communicative and helpful throughout my stay, always responding to messages super quickly. The location is great and everything you need (grocery stores, subway, food) is in walking distance. Would definitely stay again!

    John Paul2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Evan was super quick with responding and a great host overall! The location was perfect, there are tons of good food and bars just a block away. The cats were super friendly and an added bonus! Would highly recommend Evan and his place for an nyc stay.

    Elizabeth2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views!!! We stayed over the 4th of July and were able to watch parts of the Macy's and Jersey City fireworks from the terrace. The location was great with lots of nightlife in the neighborhood and within walking distance to plenty of other areas. Evan was extremely responsive and really on the ball with communication. I would not hesitate to stay at Evan's place again.

This apartment is a 1-minute walk from 3 major subway lines, and centrally-located between midtown and downtown. It sits on the border between the young and stylish East Village and Lower East Side neighborhoods, surrounded by inexpensive restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. The room features a memory-foam bed, TV with Netflix, and a street-facing window. The rest of the apartment is yours to enjoy as well, welcome!
Situated in a renovated two-bedroom apartment, your private room is furnished with brand-new amenities, including a desk, ultra-comfortable queen-size memory foam mattress, soft towels and a 26" flat screen TV with Netflix. The bathroom is shared with me (I live in the other bedroom). Your room has a south-facing window with lots of light and a blackout shade. It overlooks a lively corner, which can sometimes be a bit noisy (mostly on the weekends). I am happy to provide earplugs for your comfort. You have access to the roof and its fantastic view of the Freedom Tower, the Chrysler Building and more. The room has its own air conditioning during the summer and its own heater during winter.
One of the New York City’s liveliest and trendiest neighborhoods, the Lower East Side offers countless restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and performance venues for you to enjoy. (Pianos, Beauty and Essex, Arlene's Grocery, The Box and GalleryBar are just a few nightlife examples). The neighborhood is dynamic, safe and has a lot to offer historically - in the past it served as home to so many of the city's immigrants that it even has its own museum (The Tenement Museum). Staying in the Lower East Side is easy, with food, other supplies and laundry readily available and close by. There is a laundromat less than one block from the apartment where you can wash or have your clothing washed, and a grocery store in the building next door. The subway (about a minute's walk from the apartment) offers easy transportation all over the city, though it's also possible to walk to many of the city's sites if you enjoy walking. When you are ready to explore further, you can check out other stylish neighborhoods nearby, including SOHO, Greenwich Village, the East Village, NOHO and more.
  • This accommodation is very recommandable ! It was quite easy to join Tim before our trip for any sort of questions and he was also very available during our stay in New York. The apartment is well located and offers all kind of equipment. It is just a few steps away from numerous bars and restaurants which is cool if you wanna go out in the evening. There are 2 subway stations nearby which take you to central Manhattan or Brooklyn. The apartment is really clean which was very important for us ! All in all, we would definitely consider another stay at Tim's ! :-)

    Debbie2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Tim’s place during an overnight trip to New York. We spent most of the time out exploring, and we wanted a cheap, safe, comfortable place to sleep, and that’s exactly what we got. Tim was lovely and the room was comfortable. The location is unbeatable.

  • Tim was an absolutely amazing host to me and my mom! He was very quick to respond to our texts and easy to communicate with, and just the right balance of friendliness and privacy. The apartment was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. It does get loud at night but earplugs come with the room, and the noise didn’t really bother us. Overall a dream of a stay in NYC. Definitely recommend!

The East Village/Union Square/Gramercy are the greatests NYC neighborhoods Manhattan has to offer. Anyone can go see lights in times square but all true NY'ers want to live downtown Manhattan because it's the true heart beat of NYC and makes you feel alive. I've lived here for just over six years and I absolutely love it for its vibrancy, good vibes, endless supply of restaurants and bars, fantastic local shops, great coffee, etc.

  • Carol was an amazing host. Her apartment was literally in the best location in manhattan. Every thing is close by and the apartment was such a great place for a couple to cozy up in. The place was stocked with every essential and was like a home away from home. A great place to stay in if your visiting. Great host, all the essentials, easy check-in, and very accommodating.

    Naim2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Central place to stay while in NYC. Really can't beat the location if you're hoping to have the convenience of being in Manhattan. Be it brooklyn or upper manhattan, my friends and I were only a 20/40 minute subway ride away from it all. The place was smaller than I had anticipated but that was all my fault, I had a different expectation in my head. Mostly due to the fact that I'm not a New Yorker haha. Nonetheless, Carol was a great host and was quick to respond to my questions prior to my visit. Obtaining the key was easy peasy and I quite liked that she left it with a doorman who would be there 24/7.

  • Had a great time staying at Gary’s place. We were delighted to find such a modern and clean space near where we wanted to be. The flat is more spacious than it seemed to be in the pictures. Checking in was hassle free, Gary was very helpful with information that we needed. Would 100% recommend!

  • Everything was perfect as it seemed online. The location is a 5-star, very easy to get around with subway and walking distance to awesome bars and restaurants. We found the best pizza restaurant just next to Gary’s home. The room is very clean and comfortable. Bathroom is clean. Even though it’s located on a busy street, Gary’s place is quiet and calming at all times. Gary is the most thoughtful, gracious host. He is responsive and flexible with check-in and check-out time, which was extremely helpful. I would definitely come again!

We use the profits from the guest rooms here to provide hot meals for homeless people on the streets of New York City. Please take a moment to look at the pictures on our listing. Since the money you give us for your room is financing the meal distribution program, just by staying here, you're already helping to support this program. But if you'd like to personally come out to help with the meal distribution for two hours (from 9:30AM until 11:30AM) for one of the days of your visit, we will offer you the bed and breakfast guest room for a special price.
This neighborhood is called: "The East Village". There are literally hundreds of small unique restaurants, shops, book stores, galleries, theaters and pubs in the East Village. You will find, gently-strolling, pedestrian traffic at all hours of the day of evening. The East Village is not a dark, or dangerous area. It's a neighborhood that's full of life. Many artists, musicians, writers, actors, NYU medical students, other graduate students, similar intelligentsia, and creative people live in the East Village. I think you'll like it here. You can get anywhere in New York City quickly and easily from here. The subway station is two blocks away (a two minute walk).

  • While the East Village seems like an out of the way place to stay for a tourist, the F line is just blocks away and will take you to the heart of midtown. I found this place was a great respite to come back to after a long day of walking and sight seeing. Adi and Evangel are great hosts and I would stay again.

  • A lovely and very quiet zen temple in the heart of The East Village. Stayed 2 nights. The bed in my first room was miserably hard so I asked for a room change and was granted my request. Minimal interaction with other guests and hosts made it feel like my own place.

    Molly2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, clean and warm. The public space feels bigger than the photos. Breakfast includes bread, cereals, milk, soy milk, fruit juice and more. We also went with Adi to help distribute food next to the park in the morning. Will consider staying again next time in New York.

Entire studio. Pre-war building. Quite street. Walk to everything. NOT much natural light. First floor window facing north. Beautiful and relaxed neighborhood designed for walking&exploring. Lovely cleaning Mom hired. Value The best value of this place is that you don't need to share space with host or other guests. Can’t beat this Location. Safe building for one person to live alone too. Tenants in this building are mostly young, friendly and nice kids.
Location. Privacy (entire studio). First floor. Quiet street. Pets friendly. Walk to food, bars and entertainment. East Village is one of the signature neighborhood. Comfortable for 1 guest, good for 2 guests, small space for 3 guests. Window facing north NOT much natural light. Good for: people who can handle self checking in with a master lock. People who look for safe, quite and private space to rest. people who like East Village. people positive, easy going. NOT good for: people who are looking for big space people who are looking for good natural light. people who don't like down to earth New York pre-war building. people who never asked host what they need but just leave bad reviews. The goal for me is that to see people enjoying New York trip and find the best suitable accommodations.
East Village is known for its happening nightlife. Old-school bars, music venues and performance spaces share the streets with posh cocktail lounges, hip restaurants. Daytime sees a more laid-back crowd browsing boutiques, vintage shops.

  • We had a great stay in the east village at Emma’s place. It was our honeymoon. We came in from California to see a show, friends and stop by my firehouse on East 67th. Flying in and out of Newark was incredibly easy.

  • Charming apartment with lovely decoration. The neighborhood is very nice, in full expansion of renovation, with very pleasant restaurant addresses. The apartment is ideal for two, but our teenager slept very well on the sofa bed. Emma is charming, I recommend this address to all those who love charm and calm in New York.

  • Emma’s place is an oasis in the city. It is cosy, stylish and very clean. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. The furniture and paintings are beautiful. It really does feel like a room in an old English manor. The area is a goldmine of restaurants, cafes, clubs and cocktail bars. We only ended up going one block away the first night for three different places. View from bedroom window reminds me of Sesame Street. So iconic! Friendly and very responsive hosts. I’d highly recommend staying here.

  • Adorable and spotless place in a great neighborhood.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Emma's place and would highly recommend booking with her. To start off, Emma's communication was quick and clear. She provided lots of details to help with the check-in process (very easy to manage) and even gave local recommendations. We also loved the apartment. It is a good-sized place by NY standards and had a very comfortable queen size bed. The shower was a plus as well. Water temp and pressure were better than our apartment at home! The apartment was very clean and well decorated and we enjoyed the "English Manor" touches. We had no trouble sleeping as the street is very quiet and so were the neighbors. The location of the apartment in the East Village was perfect. While not near the typical tourist traps of midtown-Manhattan, we appreciated that the apartment provided us more of a neighborhood feel. There are tons of bars, restaurants, parks, coffee shops and stores within walking distance and we took advantage of them each day. NYU, the Lower East Side and Greenwich Village are all within walking distance and in my opinion it's better to walk than take the subway because you get to take in the sights around you. So overall, we would highly recommend Emma's place!

Private bedroom with memory foam full mattress fits two comfortably. South facing window w/great sunlight and blackout blinds. Walkup apt (no elevator), 1 full bath, roof deck. Fun east village manhattan neighborhood. Shared space with other guests(max 4). This is a busy area of Manhattan so those who are sensitive to street noise may want to look elsewhere. The window in the bedroom can always be shut to mitigate the issue. Not a large space but cosy. Air conditioned!
  • Absolutely incredible view from the balcony and such a value

  • My first Airbnb experience and I loved Joe’s place. It’s very walkable to many great sights, subway stations, and food. The room is small but perfect for a 3 night weekend getaway. There are nice amenities. Great to have coffee so I don’t look like a zombie out on the streets. There is Saltwater which is fantastic less than a 2 minute block away. There are many stairs to get up to the apartment but that didn’t really bother me. The apartment smells very clean. The water in the shower can get REALLY hot. You have to finagle with the faucets until you get it right. The hot showers was perfect for the cold (and snowy) NY weather for me. There are plenty of blankets to keep you warm too. It was a great experience

  • Joe was very welcoming, that was one of the few airbnbs where you wouldn’t mind hanging out somewhere apart from your room, he’s got tv w Netflix and everything in the living room, and an amazing rooftop balcony

  • Joe is like a friend you forgot you had. He’s helpful, tells you the best way to get around, and makes sure you are comfortable. Couldn’t recommend him more.

  • Joe's place is great! While the room is a little small, it's great value for money, it's super well located, Joe is very communicative and easy to talk to, and the overall experience was awesome. Highly recommended.

Large, comfy studio with lots of natural light, exposed brick and hard wood floors. It's right on St. Marks Place where all the fun in the East Village begins. Just a few blocks from the 6, N and R trains, and 5 minute walk to Union Square. The neighborhood is also one of the best New York City has to offer. There are loads of amazing bars and restaurants just steps away from the apartment. And if you are more of a stay in and cook kinda person, the union square green market just a few minutes walk from the apartment will supply you with all the local and organic foods you'll need to make an amazing meal with my all-clad cookware. Also, don't worry about noise either as the flat is on the back side of the building and you can sleep with the windows open and not hear a sound from the streets outside. There may be some noise from neighbors here and there of course as with any apartment in NYC, but I have never had much trouble. The guy upstairs plays guitar in the afternoons sometimes, so if you like to sleep the afternoon away, that may or may not keep you up. Amenities Include: * Queen Size TEMPURPEDIC Bed * 42" Flat Screen TV with DVD Player * Leather Sofa * WiFi * Cold A/C * Fire Escape * Full Kitchen with Premium Cookware * Full Bathroom with great water pressure in shower!
  • The place is exactly as described. Amazing location. Never felt unsafe. Lots of great little places very close to the apartment. Not a complaint but just so future travelers know, it is 5 flights of stairs to the apartment so keep that in mind, sunlight will come in the fire escape window so if your sensitive to light that’s also something to keep in mind. Lastly if you do bring a car, I don’t recommend it, but you can find parking on close streets that is free and you can park for ~3 days at a time. Overall a great place and would totally stay again!

  • Very nice flat in a very nice street. Everythink was clear and ready to use when we arrived.

  • Lovely, small apartment in the heart of the East Village. Perfect size for solo travelers or a couple.

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommand this place. Perfectly situated, very calm, sunny, with a full equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful week. We recommand you to bring mask because there is no curton (which is very common in NY).
