Welcome to Butterrow Gate, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Butterrow Gate is a distinctive, beautifully renovated Grade II listed property which sits proudly on Butterrow Hill on the outskirts of the market town of Stroud. Located in the heart of the stunning "Five Valleys" region of the Cotswolds, Stroud is well known for its bohemian vibe and eclectic mix of shops, with Jasper Conran describing the weekly Farmers' Market held in the town as "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". The Five Valleys converge on Stroud and contain some of the most beautiful countryside Britain has to offer. Butterrow Gate is also well placed for exploring further afield, with the spa towns of Bath and Cheltenham both within easy reach. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
The green front door opens into an entrance hall which houses the washing machine/tumble dryer, and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: Laid with beautiful flagstone flooring, this uniquely shaped room features original Cotswold stone walls, pretty stone mullion windows and a cosy wood burning stove. Tastefully decorated, this room contains a sofa, a footstool and an armchair, along with a Freesat TV with DVD player and a small dining table with drop down leaves which comfortably seats two; Kitchen: This compact yet well-equipped space contains an electric oven with four ring-induction hob, a dishwasher, Morphy Richards coffee machine, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a kettle and toaster; Family bathroom: Located off the entrance hall, this room contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the living area directly into the characterful bedroom: Master bedroom: With original Elm floorboards dating back to 1825, and exposed Cotswold stone walls, this bedroom has a romantic ambience and stunning views from the stone mullion windows over the pretty market town of Stroud and the surrounding valley. There is a pretty wrought iron double bed and two occasional chairs, as well an ornamental stone fireplace and a double wardrobe. The stable door from the bedroom opens onto the outside patio area decorated with pretty pots and featuring the walk-on glass area directly above the kitchen. Three steps lead up to a larger patio area with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the market town of Stroud. This private, sunny space has an outdoor table, two chairs and a wooden bench, perfect for relaxing on warm summer days. A charcoal barbecue is provided from April to September, and there is a chiminea for cooler evenings. The outside space can also be accessed via a right of way through the neighbour’s garden and on street parking is available close to the property.
Encircled by five sweeping valleys opening out to the River Severn and made famous by Laurie Lee's novel "Cider with Rosie", the scenery is dramatic around Stroud. The town and its surrounding villages provide a great base from which to explore the undiscovered south Cotswolds, as well as for day trips to Bristol and Bath. London is just a 90 minute direct train away. At a time when the prevalence of chain stores has turned many of Britain's High Streets into copies of each other, Stroud is a welcome relief. With a bohemian vibe and an enviable array of independent shops, Stroud offers a unique shopping experience unrivalled by any town or city in the locality. Brimming with character and standing amidst the dramatic backdrop of the Five Valleys, Stroud has an eclectic mix of shops in the most beautiful of settings. The award-winning Farmers' Market is held each Saturday and is one of the best in the country, described by Jasper Conran as "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". Throughout the summer months, street performers will entertain you every Saturday morning and there is a full programme of music and theatre throughout the year – a true hub of cultural events. Stroud is a place that repays investigation, especially for the quality and variety of artists at work in the area – you could also choose to take part in one of the many traditional workshops! Food & Drink Stroud has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: JRooL Bistro (www.jrool.co.uk): JRooL Bistro is a fine example of the sum of its parts being greater than the whole. The team has a passion for food and wine, such that the end result is an experience of food, wine and service that is, simply, award winning. The flexibility of the dining room encourages leisurely family lunches, business dining, appetisers and drinks at the bar, pre-theatre dinners or a full gastronomic experience; No 23 Bar & Bistro: No 23 is a popular, independent Stroud Bar, Café and Restaurant, specialising in tapas and Mediterranean fare. The fully stocked bar serves choice wines, beers and aperitifs to complement the extensive menu; Sorrento Italian Restaurant (www.sorrentostroud.co.uk): The menu offers superb presentations of traditional favourites, such as pizzas, pasta, succulent steaks, chicken and fish dishes, all served in a relaxing, friendly environment. Stroud also has a wide range of food retailers, including an award winning Farmers' Market, held every Saturday.
  • Great, special and quirky space. Amenities were great and the place was sparkling clean, would definitely recommend and stay again. I imagine it would be spectacular in the summer. Jut watch out for stepping right onto quite a busy road where traffic comes roaring past. Parking was also tricky.

  • Property was lovely and perfect for a few days away. Tip: don't park opposite the property as you will get a note from one of the neighbours, also take your own milk as this isn't provided. Great stay and great location.

  • Beautifully decorated, great homely feel and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

    Anna2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the cottage and it’s more beautiful in real life with an amazing view. Would definitely recommend and return. Not much off street parking but we didn’t mind parking down the hill and walking up. Worth a visit for sure!

  • We had a wonderful winter break at Butterrow gate. The property is gorgeous, very quirky and has everything you need. It is also clean and well presented. The location is great for exploring Stroud and other local villages. The tips provided by the host were perfect. We loved the farmer’s market, the antiques mill and local walks. It is worth noting that the property is on a busy road and you may be kept awake by traffic if you are a light sleeper. We slept like logs from all of the walking! Xx

  • My partner and I stayed at the cottage for a week while exploring the Cotswolds. It was such a lovely place to stay. It is exactly as it looks in the pictures small and super cozy and wonderful. We had a really good time. The place was in a good location if you had a car to explore all the surrounding towns. Without a car the cottage it a little but above the town and therefore is a bit less accessible. Contact with character cottages was easy, check in and out was no issue. The only negative feedback is that the place was a little low on essentials. When we arrived there wasn’t any coffee for the coffee machine and there were no other supplies for cooking other than olive oil. However the kitchen is very sweet and easy to use for home cooked meals. We also weren’t informed beforehand that the washer and dryer machine didn’t work and didn’t find this out till arriving, I thought this would have been great to be told earlier in order to organise our washing. Otherwise the place was the picture perfect cottage and we would definitely stay there again. I would definitely recommend a visit for anyone considering it.

Little Culver is a stunning and unique Cotswold stone property, built in 1821. The cottage forms the right hand half of a beautiful castellated Grade II listed building, Culver Cottage. Little Culver is located in the heart of the village of Minchinhampton. An ornate arched doorway on the street opens into a lobby, which is shared with the neighbouring property. Little Culver’s front door opens from the lobby into the living room. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living room: A beautiful, spacious room, adorned with antique maps and artwork, which has a stunning Gothic window with a window seat, and a Cotswold stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. There are two leather sofas, plus a bench seat, and a SMART TV with a freesat box and a DVD player; Kitchen/dining room: A stylish, contemporary room that overlooks the back garden. The well presented kitchen has a range cooker with a five ring gas hob and two electric ovens, two under counter fridges (one with a freezer compartment), a dishwasher, toaster, kettle and cafetiere. The large dining table has seating for six, and there is also a pew bench underneath a lovely Gothic window. Floor-to-ceiling cupboards provide larder space, as well as storage for coats and shoes; Utility room: Accessed from the garden, this useful space contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave, as well as a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the ground floor to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A characterful room, with a wooden floor and a Gothic window overlooking the garden, which contains a double bed, chest of drawers and a freestanding wardrobe; Bedroom 2: Another lovely room, again with a wooden floor and a Gothic window, as well as a decorative exposed stone alcove. There are two single beds, a chest of drawers, and a white Eames chair; Bedroom 3: A charming room, which contains a single day bed, bedside table, desk and chair; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. A door from the kitchen leads out to a patio and a large, enclosed courtyard garden, which catches the late afternoon sun. Minchinhampton is a very attractive, thriving hilltop town, situated on a tongue of high land between the Golden Valley and the Nailsworth Valley, 1.5 miles north east of Nailsworth. The town also sits on the eastern fringes of Minchinhampton Common, high above the valleys that were once prosperous with the production of cloth. The centre of Minchinhampton is a picture-postcard image of what people expect of a small Cotswold town, with a selection of nice shops and places to eat. The town is centred on its High Street and old Market Square, the main feature of which is the late 17th century Market House, supported on stone columns. The interesting Holy Trinity Church dates from the 12th century and has a truncated spire looking over the Market Square. The church was given to Caen's Abbaye aux Dames by William the Conqueror and then in 1415 passed to Syon Abbey, in whose hands it remained until the Dissolution. Minchinhampton Common is a large area of open grassland with spectacular views over the Stroud and Nailsworth valleys. The area is owned by National Trust and is an important archaeological landscape, with prehistoric field systems, burial mounds and the remains of a defensive earthwork, known as The Bulwarks. In the summer the Commons are grazed by local commoners' cattle. The area covers 635 acres and is renowned for its colourful array of wild flowers and butterflies. Food & Drink For a small market town, Minchinhampton is fortunate to be blessed with a number of good places to eat and drink: The Crown Inn (https://www.thecrown-minchinhampton.com/): Roaring fires, a restaurant serving up locally inspired flavours, and a cellar stocked full of craft ales, fine wines, and fizz - when it comes to Cotswold country pubs, The Crown Inn is the perfect place to meet, eat, and make great memories. The Ragged Cot (www.theraggedcot.co.uk): Perched high on the Cotswolds outside the ancient market town of Minchinhampton sits the Ragged Cot, a country inn getaway created for serious pleasure seekers. Born of a 17th century coaching house inn set beside six hundred acres of National Trust common land the Ragged Cot is a pretty special place with an intriguing history of highwaymen and pilferage. The proprietors of the Ragged Cot take pride in their professional approach to food and service, with the seasonal menu offering great British food sourced from local farmers and even their own vegetable garden. With dishes such as seared ox tongue with pickled red cabbage, pheasant with braised leeks and artichoke puree or just simply ham, eggs with triple cooked chips you will always find a dish to fit; The Kitchen (www.thekitchenminchinhampton.co.uk): Choose a seat by the beautiful bay window and watch for riders trotting by on horseback or perhaps the occasional herd of cows strolling down from the Common. Serving delicious breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas, and lunches, all the locally sourced food is prepared fresh daily; The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton Common (www.food-club.com/old-lodge.htm): The Old Lodge is beautifully located in the centre of Minchinhampton Common. With unrivalled views of the Cotswolds, this 400 year old hunting lodge is the perfect place to escape the rush. Enjoy quality, locally sourced food served in the restaurant, the bar area, one of the smaller dining rooms or al fresco in the spacious garden. The stunning restaurant accommodates parties of up to 85 people seated and has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto Minchinhampton Common. Minchinhampton also has an excellent butcher's shop and an organic cheese shop: L Taylor & Sons (www.taylorsminchinhampton.com): For nearly a century L Taylor and Sons has been supplying the highest quality meat to discerning customers. The quality of the shop has been recognised with a Cotswold Life Butcher of the year award; Woefuldane Organic Dairy (www.woefuldanedairy.co.uk): All the products are made by hand in the farm dairy in time honoured ways. The unpasteurised cheeses change throughout the seasons as the milk varies depending on what the cows are eating.

  • Great location, right in the centre of the village. Had a great stay and would love to go back one day. Sad to have to leave at the end of the holiday.

  • Had a lovely stay in Little Culver. All was as advertised - plenty of space for 5 people, very comfortable and stylish. Loved the original features of the house. Thoughtful touches like chocolates and biscuits on arrival were appreciated and the key safe made our arrival stress-free as travelling from London. Would definitely stay again if travelling to the Cotswolds.

  • The perfect pad to explore the Cotswolds, set in a cute little village. Loved the treats and the garden was so beautiful to sit in and enjoy the rest of the British summer.

    Leo2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house In the quiet quintessential English village of Minchinhampton. We rocked up with 5 people and found there to be plenty of room for everyone. The Garden was well kept and a really chilled out place to hangout in the sunshine. No negative comments here! The one thing I would say is to bring cash with you because many of the local establishments don’t take cards.

Clean, spotless, neat and quiet!!!!  Heating system and hot water awesome, a pleasure arriving home after driving around on winter.  Located in a strategic zone to explore the entire Cotswolds. Maximum 1 hour driving to the farthest town of this area.  Bread and milk at arriving and thanks for letting us check in earlier just to arrive home with light. It has all kinds of elements that make it a complete house.  100% recommended. We will come back soon for sure!!!!!!

  • We loved our stay here. It was really cosy with lovely underfloor heating. It had everything we needed for a New Year getaway. We cooked a couple of meals: the oven was good and a double hob and decent-sized kitchen was handy. There’s a pub virtually at the end of the drive, and a corner shop open until 9pm. We can also recommend the Jolly Fryer chippy half a mile away!

  • Cedars retreat was a lovely, peaceful stay for me and my small family whilst on a work course nearby. It’s a lovely hideaway from the main roads whilst still being in a great location to local amenities and walks. We had a lovely comfortable stay and enjoyed the space. It had everything we would need and will definitely recommend to friends and family when in the area.

This is a beautiful space with stunning views over the fields towards stroud. It is very simply decorated inside with lovely oak beams and staircase. There is also a wood burning stove for extra warmth in the winter months. From the outside it almost looks like a swiss chalet, and upstairs on the mezzanine floor you will find traditional Japanese Tatami mats and futon beds. There are currently no kitchen facilities apart from a kettle, fridge and microwave.
The Annexe is clad in beautiful Larch wood which gives it a lovely warm glowing look, the floor, doors and stairs are all warm wood too. The Tatami mats and Futon beds are genuine traditional Japanese pieces.
The surrounding area is great for walking and cycling, not far from the town of stroud too which has an award winning farmers market every Saturday which has amazing local produce. Stroud is nestled in the 5 valleys in the heart of the Cotswolds with beautiful countryside all round.
  • Such a lovely space! Beautifully decorated and very cozy. If you don't like a thinner, more firm mattress you may want to steer clear; personally I liked the traditional tatami mats.

    Hilary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, peaceful space. It was a shame to only spend one night here but we had a great time. Love the Japanese theme!

  • Gill's house is very cozy, warm and clean, and makes you feel at home. Tea, coffee and an electric kettle are provided in the room, and you can also nibble some biscuits when you feel peckish. You will be impressed with her hospitality. I think very friendly and beautiful dog would heal the fatigue of visitors. You will be absorbed in taking pictures of the wonderful scenery around the house. I would revisit during the warm months! *Sometimes, Google map doesn't show the correct place so before visiting, I recommend asking her about the correct place.

    Itsuko2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Situated beautifully near the cotswold paths Gill’s home is a wonderful example of a traditional country stone cottage. Gill was the perfect host, and Lottie made for an affectionate four-legged co-host. Nothing was too much for Gill and she had some great recommendations for the area. I felt welcomed, looked after and at home. And the best bit; I slept like a log! (which I find hard to do away from my own bed!) The room was clean, well-presented and had plentiful amenities for my stay. The private bathroom was stunning with both shower and bath, and was a sheer luxury to have during my stay. I would thoroughly recommend Gill’s home and will definitely stay again when I’m in the area! Thank you Gill!

    Robert2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely room and bathroom in a peaceful location. Gill is a superb host and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

    Beth2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were fascinated to learn that Gill's home was a pub years ago. It is a beautiful building, very characteristic of the area, and quite a privilege to stay in it. Gill is very welcoming, and we enjoyed our stay there. Lottie the dog is very friendly too!

    Deborah2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming cottage and so spacious, too! Very well appointed. Cosy and comfortable . Gill is the perfect host. I wanted for nothing. Would definitely recommend and return.

    Susan2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Only a few steps from Cotswold Way (although don't trust Google maps! It will take past and up the hill) A really comfortable bedroom, lots of room and a welcoming bathroom with bath. Sunday means nowhere to eat so bring provisions. Breakfast was great, and Gill kindly set everything out for me so I could make an early start. An old house with character, I loved it.

    Eliza2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely room in a lovely house with one of the most welcoming hosts we've encountered. Gill was fantastic and the room was exactly as described with everything we needed for a comfortable stay whilst visiting family. Would highly recommend to anyone needing to stay in the area!

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • A gorgeous cottage with lots of character and stunning views. We had a lovely cosy weekend with fires (make sure you pick up enough kindling from the local supermarket) and walks through the woods (wellies necessary!) to the pub, finished off with brunch in the well set up kitchen. Be prepared to climb a very steep hill if your car can’t make it up!

  • Grange Cottage is very comfortable, warm and cosy. It is a classic Cotswolds cottage with great views over the valley opposite. The location, while up a very steep hill, was excellent - - a short walk through the wood to the fantastic Amberley Inn - - and no issue with access with our car. The log burner was a welcome addition on the cold evenings we spent there.

  • Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your fabulous cottage. It was a beautiful warm, cosy and very clean property with views to die for! I cannot thank you enough for sending back our Google Chromecast so quickly after we left it behind in the property, it arrived in the post today. That is what I call a first class service! Funny thing was that we didn’t even need it as Netflix was already provided. I would like to highly recommend Character Cottages for anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

    Sachin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage had everything you could ask for - 4 beautiful bedrooms with lovely clean bed linen and comfortable beds. Fantastic views and a cosy log fire with idyllic walks around the area. It was very quiet and peaceful and just what we needed as four mums trying to get some relaxation time away from hectic lives and young children. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you!

  • A beautiful house located on a serene hill. Quaint details were added throughout the house which made the experience all the more wonderful. The place was super clean! The only downside is that it is located on a very steep hill & a bit too narrow & difficult to drive up. It was a very good stay regardless :)

    Maznan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. Fantastic views. Cottage up a steep hill. Pleasant walks from the cottage. Low ceilings but that's to be expected when you consider when it was built.

    Mark2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant cottage, all as described! Even though it rained quite literally the ENTIRE stay, we didn’t really notice because the house was so nice and had everything we needed! Thank you!

    Harriet2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for a quaint well appointed traditional English cottage go no further!! It’s right here! A spotlessly clean, charming, cosy, scenic, comfortable home away from home. Sunny, double room in a tall Victorian end of terrace. Perfect for those who want a cosy base right in the centre of Stroud. Breakfast is 'help yourself'. In a big busy, friendly, family, cosy home, with kids, 2 lodgers, cats and fish. Warm welcome assured
Small sunny double bedroom This room on the 3rd floor contains a 4ft 6" double bed, bedside shelves, a hanging rail, a corner desk with lamp and a stool. There is an eco radiator or fan depending on time of year. The shared bathroom is a half landing away with a bath, electric shower, loo and sink. There's another loo next door to the bathroom too. A breakfast of tea/coffee, cereal, toast and fruit juice is included in the price if you stay less than a week (you help yourself). If you're here longer then please provide your own food (our generous discount reflects this). You are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking. We have WIFI which you are welcome to use. The house is a large family and shared 'end of terrace Victorian' home. Its a mixture of classic, contemporary and growing children style. We have 3 cats, lots of fish, several children/young adults and lodgers. The house is by no means 'perfect' - guests can expect a clean and tidy room, with the rest of the house cleaned professionally weekly and kitchen/bathrooms attended to more often. We pride ourselves on a warm relaxed atmosphere for both family and guests which doesn't equate to minimalist immaculate surroundings. Please note there are lots of stairs, so the kitchen is in the basement and the bedroom is 3 floors above.. We're right in central Stroud, minutes from the station and all the shops and restaurants. Parking is available behind the house or on street in front of the house (visitors permit needed except in the evenings and on Sundays). We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Stroud is an 'alternative' town with interesting shops and cafes, alongside some of the usual high street shops. The countryside round about is particularly lovely and there are many walks that can be done from the house. We're ideally placed for the award winning Saturday farmers market, Stroud Subscription Rooms, Centre of Arts and Science and Lansdown Hall (all within 3-7 minutes walk).
  • Really lovely room and Natasha was really welcoming.

  • Nice and clean room, and Natasha is a super host. Highly recommended...

    Florian2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Natasha's house has a lovely lived-in feeling and is full of character and I loved looking at all her artwork on the walls. While there were several people in the house (as well as cats, fish and the newest addition to the family, a cute labradoodle puppy!), it is big enough for you to find a quiet space when you want it. The bedroom while small was adequate for my needs and the comfortable bed gave me a good night's sleep. The location of her house is great, only a minute's walk to the town centre on a fairly quiet road. Stroud is lovely with lots of quirky and creative shops to browse and lots of friendly people to help you on your way - a great community spirit!

Great views, walks and cycle rides in nearby AONB fields & woods, the 'Cotswold Way' long distance path, old Randwick village, Stroud town & the River Severn. This newly-built annex is light, warm, has high ceilings, comfortable bed and a very adequate kitchen for self-catering. Good for singles or couples, we could also accommodate a child or dog.
Built-up area below the annex, AONB above, in the form of fields & woods. Be prepared for some slopes & small hills if you walk in these areas. Premier stores half a mile away, Co-op supermarket a mile. Vine Tree pub is near at hand & does decent food.
  • Lovely location and lovely annex to stay in. Vernon was very welcoming and showed us a local dog walk when we arrived. Perfect for our springer to stretch his legs after a few hours in the car. The annex is fully equipped with everything we needed for a peaceful few days away.

    Jenny2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, Vernon was very fast at communicating and very helpful with timings. The house was clean and perfect for a couple with dogs. It is a really scenic place and the snowdrops only the room were a really nice touch.

    Henry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for money, everything you need as a bolt hole. Lovely views. Pub 2 min walk up the road, not far out of Stroud, but roads a windy and can be a bit tight. Only thing to note that there are about 8 steps down to the Annex. I was recovering from an Op, vernon and his wife Betsy kindly helped me with my belongings. Vernon even brought some fresh eggs from their chickens which are just in front of the Annex.

    Amanda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rapid response to enquiries, warm and helpful welcome. Plenty of advice on local walks/pubs/lots of local guidance. The Annex is a separate independent building with all that you would need for a few days quiet break. There is an excellent pub a few minutes walk away with good food ,beer and welcoming owner.

  • It’s been a few days since I left Joanna’s house, and I still miss the 2 days of staying there. The house is a little far from Stroud train station and can take a few stops or walk. We walked along the small canal for about 30 minutes and watched the scenery all the way. The environment of the community is quiet and beautiful, making people feel safe. There are small rivers and large green lawns nearby. Although the bedroom is small, it is enough for 2 girls to live and it is very clean. Joanna was kind and easygoing. She spent a lot of time helping us to call a taxi to find the bus bus schedule to and from the attractions. We had a pleasant conversation with Joanna, watched the photos together, and got along very happy, thanking her again. If you want to experience the style of a British town, this is a good choice.

Welcome to my flat in Stroud town centre! We are opposite the train station and the bustling town where you have all the local shops and services on your doorstep. The room is nicely lit and very quiet in spite of being so central as we are on the top floor of the apartment building. The studio lounge/kitchen is comfortable and warm and you are welcome to use the utilities such as tv and wifi..
I have a two bedroom flat with one bathroom and a studio kitchen/lounge.
  • Chris's flat is clean, quiet, safe, and very convenient if you would like to visit Stroud and the surrounding Cotswold region. Although it is within a few yards if the railway station and located in the centre of the village, it is set back from the street perfectly so that there is no noise whatsoever. The one large bedroom and adjoining bathroom were perfectly clean and the shower itself was hot, strong and really good after as long day out. His living/kitchen has all that you need to make a quick meal though there are also many little cafes and restaurants nearby - an advantage of being in the centre of town. I would strongly recommend Chris's flat for anyone looking to stay at an inexpensive BnB in the great little village of Stroud.

Your accommodation is a single storey extension, to the side of my home, which I have completely modernised and refurbished. You have your own entrance via the back garden and the guest area is locked off from the rest of the house, to ensure guests' privacy. Self service breakfast of cereals and milk available plus tea and coffee facilities in your kitchenette. Own fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and toaster, washing machine. Shared garden and patio with table and chairs.
This little guest suite consists of a double bedroom with double bed (mattress is memory foam, medium firm), laptop desk and clothes hanging rail and drawers. You also have your own kitchenette containing fridge with ice box, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and crockery etc. There is also a washing machine you are welcome to use. Finally, you have your own newly fitted shower room with large shower, basin and toilet. Please note: I have made the additional guest option available at a surcharge of £10/night. Please note that the kitchenette only has a small breakfast bar and stool to seat one person. The accomodation is therefore only really suitable for two people if you just want a place to sleep.
We live in a quiet, residential area surrounded by a wealth of footpaths which lead you through fields with wonderful views. You can walk into Stroud via various shortcuts, or up the hill into the village of Whiteshill where you will find a lovely pub called The Star and also a village shop (commuity run). Stroud itself is famous for it's Saturday morning farmers market and it's arty, crafty vibe with plenty happening in the local area and a good selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes. The Cotswold Way is, of course, also on the doorstep.

  • We had a great time staying at Luuks. He's a really friendly and helpful host. Would definitely recommend staying there.

  • I would recommend staying at Luuk's place. It is comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the countryside. Luuk was a super host, very responsive and helpful.

  • This is a really great find. The flat is just perfect. You have everything you need, a really comfortable bed, great kitchen, lovely bathroom, and a really special view. It is sparkling clean. I have terrible animal and dust allergies and I was completely fine here. Luuk is a great host. Helpful and kind.

    Gemma2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely peaceful stay at Luuks place . It was a luxury to have everything we needed in our own little private home space . Sleep is vital to me as my health isnt great . I was SO pleased that the curtains blocked out a lot of light , the bed was comfortable and the area was really quiet and peaceful while being really short walk from the town centre . The views are stunning from the flat and i got a good sense of stroud and the surrounding countryside from staying there which was important to me .

    Rebecca2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little flat. Everything we needed for a short stay. Really comfy bed as well.

    Victoria2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This little place is a real gem. The views from the apartment are breathtaking, and it is only about a 15 minute walk into town. Communication with Luuk was very easy and he was very responsive to our queries. Check-in was very smooth, and the space itself was sparkling clean and lovely. The water pressure in the shower was incredible! It also has a surprising little roof terrace, which we didn't use because of the weather. Location wise, the apartment is in a great spot - a couple of great pubs within a few minutes walk, fantastic views over the hills around Stroud, and a few minutes drive to a Waitrose supermarket (or a few more minutes walk if you aren't afraid of a few hills!). We had a really great time - thanks Luuk!

The Retreat is situated on Woodchester Valley Vineyard in the Cotswolds, close to Stroud and 1 mile from Nailsworth town with many restaurants, walks, shops and supermarkets. It offers spacious accommodation with stunning views over the valley, a fully equipped kitchen, log burners in both the kitchen and sitting rooms as well as the full sky TV package in 2 separate rooms. As this is adjacent to a working vineyard, regrettably no children under the age of 12 can be accommodated.
The master bedroom offers a super king size bed which can be made into twin beds upon request.
We are located 1.5 miles from the bustling town of Nailsworth, which has an abundance of restaurants, cafés and pubs for breakfast, brunch and dinner options. We are 3.5 miles from the market town of Stroud which boasts one of the best farmers markets in the country every Saturday. The spa towns of Cheltenham and Bath are within 45 minutes, and the area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and those looking for a base from which to explore the South Cotswolds.
  • We had such a wonderful stay here. Although there are only two bedrooms the communal space feels like the house is much larger. There are gorgeous log burners and the house is lovely and warm. We stayed for Christmas and the host had set up a beautiful Christmas tree with lights for us, and couldn't have been more helpful with various changes and questions we had in the run up. Thanks to you all and we hope to come again this year!

  • Second time staying at this Cotswold haven! Can not recommend this place enough, really is a home away from home with views for days! Such good value for money also! Cannot wait to come back again. Thank you to Gail & Carol for being such wonderful hosts!

  • What a magic spot. A must stay if you are staying in the Cotswolds area. A great location, lovely hosts, gorgeous house. Thank you for the welcome treat, it was appreciated. Definitely try the wine it was lovely. We would definitely stay again

  • A beutiful house with outstanding views. Well equiped, cozy and clean.

  • Had a fantastic stay at the retreat. A beautiful house with lovely views. It was incredibly spacious for just 4 people. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautifully appointed with large showers and baths. Great enclosed garden for our little dog and also big garden out the front to enjoy. You are literally staying within the vineyards. We did the wine tasting tour at the vineyard, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Woodchester valley wines were superb! The tasting room is next door to the property. There are some great pubs nearby but not within walking distance. A lovely place to stay if you like wine and want a relaxing time! Highly recommend!

    Emily2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, incredible views, great facilities and space. A very quiet and secluded house in a stunning location, with amazing views across the valley. Tremendously peaceful and restorative.

    Alex2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place has the wow factor. The pictures don’t do it justice. The living room and kitchen are both huge and are great entertaining spaces. The kitchen and the living room both open out onto the front garden and drive which was perfect as the weather was so good when we visited! The bedrooms were a great size and exactly what we needed. It is a tad steep if you’re walking up, but it was generally fine and if you can’t be bothered with that then the local taxis were more than happy to take us home. The view over the hills is also fantastic - such a nice view to wake up to. Highly recommended. Gail was really helpful in the lead up to our visit and throughout!

    Peter2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures don’t do this home justice. It is beautiful, luxurious and relaxing. Just what we needed for our home base while walking the Cotswolds way.

Peaceful and great communication from Gail. Access is up a farm track and great views from the cabin. Will definitely stay again.

  • My first time using Airbnb and this was a doddle to book. I recieved a response very quickly and was not disappointed when I arrived. It's a little off the beaten track but that's its charm and the direction sent to me were spot on. The property itself was perfect. Very clean and modern and for a cold November night it was very warm too. I would love to come back.

Great getaway cabin on the side of a beautiful valley overlooking the Gloucestershire countryside. A perfect base for enjoying hill walks, exploring the Cotswolds or taking a relaxing break . It is 5 minutes walk to the local pub, 30 minutes walk to the market town of Stroud or 30 minutes drive to the popular Spa town of Cheltenham. It is situated next to one of the most beautiful woods around Stroud, renowned for its wildlife, the 'Bluebell experience' and its part in 'The Cotswold Way'.
There is access to a barbecue and hot tub. The cabin is in the garden of our family home and in close proximity of the main property. Continental breakfast included.
This Cabin is located in Randwick. Randwick, is a village bordering the market town of Stroud in Gloucestershire. It is known locally for its folk traditions such as the Randwick Wap, a celebration of May Day, and its annual pantomime. Randwick is well situated and is a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It is also a short (30 minute drive) from Randwick to Cheltenham. Cheltenham is a large spa town on the edge of the Cotswolds in the county of Gloucestershire. Cheltenham became known as a health and holiday spa town resort following the discovery of mineral springs in 1716. The town hosts several festivals of culture, often featuring nationally and internationally famous contributors and attendees, including the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, the Cheltenham Science Festival, the Cheltenham Music Festival, the Cheltenham Cricket Festival, and the Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival. In steeplechase horse racing, the Gold Cup is the main event of the Cheltenham Festival, held every March.
  • A delightful weekend retreat with a gorgeous view of what the Cotswold has to offer. As we arrived at the Cotswold Cabin, we were warmly greeted by the hosts, Jo and Charlie who very kindly showed us around the cabin. My first impression walking in is how peaceful and cozy it was. Decorated with comfortable furnishings with small references to their adorable furry friend, Blue the dog. A sure bonus for all the dog lovers. The double bed faces the breath-taking view of the valleys of Stroud. Waking up to such scenery is sure to relieve all the stresses in life. I highly recommend sitting on the porch for morning breakfast, a great way to kickstart the day. For all the strong coffee lovers, the Cabin had all the essential amenities for that vital morning coffee such as Kettle, China and coffee machine. A mini fridge is also included with light beverages. The en-suite includes an efficient power shower with hooks behind the door for clothes and towels. A small amenities rack is located next to the sink, in which you can conveniently place all your skincare essentials. Just like the french saying, 'La vie est faite de petits bonheurs' - Life is full of little pleasures. End the day with a dip in the hottub and admire the sunset gradually fade into darkness. Overall, a refreshing stay at the Cotsworld Cabin. It was a pleasure to meet Jo, a fabulous host with the warmest smile. She surely made us feel at home. Highly recommend for all those who are looking for a break away from the city.

Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction As you approach Walkley Wood Cottage through the winding lanes of Nailsworth, you will notice how the town and surrounding properties are almost hidden by the secluded woodland valley to the east of Stroud. Proudly perched on the side of sleepy Shortwood Road is Walkley Wood Cottage, a distinguished 19th century property with rustic golden stone that immediately casts a warm and welcoming aura. Ideally situated, this cottage is the perfect base for exploring the tranquillity of the surrounding Stroud Valleys and the wider Cotswolds, while guests are also in easy walking distance of the cheerfully eclectic town of Nailsworth. If you’re looking for somewhere to totally relax and unwind, then Walkley Wood is the perfect Cotswold home for you. As you approach the cottage through the cast iron gate and down the stone steps, you will notice a small outdoor table and chairs set down from the lane behind the dry-stone wall. Guests are welcome to sit outside and enjoy the warmth of the summer months in this compact but delightful sun trap. You may find yourself admiring the beautiful architecture and delicate Georgian windows, this cottage was, after all, built in 1852. Although the exact history of the cottage remains largely a mystery, it has been suggested that the building may have been used as a pub many years ago, which could explain the origins of the kitchen skylight. Either way, it’s nice to consider that many happy memories have been created within these historic walls! Inside, Walkley Wood really is the perfect holiday home. Devoid of fussiness and frill, Karen has struck the perfect balance between homely-cosy comfort and refreshing simplicity. Each floor is brought to life by a sprinkling of quirky vintage features, while guests can simultaneously enjoy a bright and Scandinavian-inspired minimalist feel. The living room is the real heart of the property. A log-burning stove immediately creates a wonderful cosy atmosphere, with soft blankets and cushions scattered over furniture to help guests make themselves feel at home. Just a short walk away is the artistic town of Nailsworth, a gem in the heart of the Cotswold valleys. We live in a lovely timber clad house set in a 3/4 acre walled garden in a beautiful rolling valley running between Nailsworth and Stroud- both great towns to explore with an award winning Farmers market, local brewery (with pizza oven), great arts, pubs, music scene and lots of independant shops and cafe’s. We have direct access to footpaths through a nature reserve behind the house (endangered bush crickets!) up to Amberley village and beautiful Minchinhampton Common with its free ranging cows and ponies, ice cream factory, visiting circus, pubs, golf course, great views and kite flying. Or use the footpath down to the Nailsworth/Stroud cycle path, which in turn leads into the lovely canal tow paths. Great for mountain biking pretty much anywhere; golfing at Minchinhampton; walking & trees at Westonbirt; birds & nature at Slimbridge, horses at Gatcombe & Badminton; culture & shopping at Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester. Or go large in Bristol! Last, but not least we are within walking distance of the mysterious Woodchester Park; or even up to spooky Hetty Pegler’s Tump....
  • Great place to stay. Lovely little touches in the studio. Excellent location for exploring the local area with good pubs/restaurants in walking distance.

  • Not a single negative point to make from our 3 night stay. The accommodation is larger than it looks in the pictures, but remains a cosy hideaway for chilly evenings. It's full of interesting bits n bobs whilst the bathroom is more than adequate inclusive of a powerful shower. Comfy bed, comfy sofa, comfy table and chairs at which to eat your provided breakfast whilst watching the birds at the feeder opposite. The hosts provided tips about the area which we utilised, however there is so much within walking, hiking, or short driving distance we were spoilt for choice. Loved it.

  • Me and my partner spent two nights over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at bears place. Check in was very swift and she was very quick to respond to any questions I had. The place was exactly how it is showed on pictures, it’s the perfect location with local supermarket just under a 10min drive away. There was little touches ie decor that made the place look really nice. The bed was very comfortable and we both cannot fault anything. Thank you for being an amazing host.

  • The Teasle Loft is simple but very stylish and cosy. We stayed here over Christmas and it provided the perfect nest for us as we visited family. We walked on Selsey Common in the fog it was beautiful.

The Cotswolds: If you’re looking for somewhere with a surprise round every corner then look no further than the beautiful Cotswolds. Famous for quintessentially English market towns and villages built from honey-coloured stone, the Cotswolds are a range of gently rolling hills and the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales making them a perfect base for keen walkers and cyclists. Escape the high street and lose yourself in village lanes full to bursting with quirky and independent shops, restaurants and farmers markets or soak up the amazing atmosphere of one of our many festivals and events. You’ll find some of the world’s most famous – and beautiful gardens in the Cotswolds, as well as wildlife parks, castles and stately homes and some of the finest historic buildings and churches in the country. Don’t be put off by our lack of coastline either! We have 40 miles of lakes in the Cotswold Water Park and numerous gently winding streams, canals and waterways criss-crossing the picturesque towns and villages. On the door step: WOODCHESTER PARK - the secret valley: Nestled in the Cotswolds, the secluded valley of Woodchester Park is home to the remains of an 18th- and 19th-century landscape park, a Victorian mansion, a chain of five lakes fringed by woodland and pasture, and an abundance of wildlife. The 19th Century Victorian Gothic Masterpiece was abandoned in mid-construction in 1873. Hidden in a secluded Cotswold valley, it is untouched by time and the modern world. This Grade 1 Listed Building has been saved from dereliction, but will never be completed. Visitors walk through an extraordinary architectural exhibit in which the secrets of the medieval Gothic builders and masons are laid bare. The carvings in Woodchester Mansion are among the finest of their kind in the world. 3 mins drive / 30 mins walk: NAILSWORTH: The artistic, market town of Nailsworth is nestled in a wooded valley in the south Cotswolds. Nailsworth is renowned for its selection of award-winning restaurants, pubs and cafes. Eating out in Nailsworth means you are spoilt for choice. Hobbs House Bakery is famous for being owned by the Fabulous Baker Brothers – Tom and Henry Herbert – and was featured on their TV show. William’s Food Hall has helped turn Nailsworth into a foodie haven. It draws celebrities and foodies through its doors to dine on fresh seafood and local produce. 5 mins drive: MINCHINHAMPTON The delightful, small market town of Minchinhampton sits on the edge of Minchinhampton Common. It's made up of pretty stone cottages, many dating back to the 17th century and medieval wool trade. There is a weekly country market and a good choice of cafes. Minchinhampton was chosen as a scenic location for the recent BBC TV adaptation of J K Rowling’s Casual Vacancy. There are breathtaking panoramic views of the Stroud Valleys from Minchinhampton Common, which sits on the Cotswold escarpment. It is an important archaeological landscape and managed by the National Trust. Rare orchids and butterflies can be spotted along with freely roaming horses and cattle. Please drive carefully over the common and keep an eye out for (URL HIDDEN) of the most famous residents is the Princess Royal who lives at Gatcombe Park on the edge of town. Every year, the famously quirky Giffords Circus takes up residence in Minchinhampton as part of its annual summer tour of the Cotswolds. 15 mins drive: TETBURY: Tetbury is a historic market town that is now internationally famous for its range of antiques shops and dealers. Independent boutique shops sit alongside restaurants that feature in the Michelin Guides. Tetbury attracts everyone from Royalty (Prince Charles and his sons' home, Highgrove, sits less than a mile away) to English countryside lovers, antique-finders, foodies and real ale connoisseurs. 8 min drive: STROUD: In the opposite direction and you will find yourself in the market town of Stroud - Situated below the western escarpment of the Cotswold Hills at the meeting point of the Five Valleys, the town is noted for its steep streets, independent spirit and cafe culture. The Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounds the town, and the Cotswold Way path passes by it to the west. The award winning saturday farmers market IS A MUST! 25 min drive: BIBURY & ARLINGTON Bibury is a charming, typically Cotswold village just a short drive from Cirencester. It’s easy to see why William Morris called Bibury ‘The most beautiful village in England’ – wonderful stone buildings strung out along the banks of the River Coln. Arlington Row, owned by the National Trust, is one of England’s most iconic and photographed sites – it even appears on the inside cover of UK passports! Originally built in the 14th century as a monastic wool store, it was converted in the 17th century into a row of weavers’ cottages. The cottages are now lived in by National Trust tenants, with no public access to the cottages or gardens, although one of them can be rented out as a holiday cottage. The River Coln flows through Bibury sandwiched between the main village street and an expanse of boggy water meadow known as Rack Isle, so called because wool was once hung out to dry there on racks after it had been washed in Arlington Row. With Arlington Row as a backdrop, it makes one of the most picturesque scenes you will find in the Cotswolds. 30 min drive:CHELTENHAM SPA 45 min drive: BATH SPA

  • Lovely little apartment done up to a very good standard. Very homely and cosy. Fully equipped kitchen which was great as we didn't want to head out for dinner. Was in a good location to a few shops and pubs. Bit of miscommunication with check in, however was sorted quite easily.

  • My husband and I were looking for a quiet night away. We came across this place and thought it looked interesting. We were blown by the beautiful location. We also booked a couple's yoga session which was incredible. It gave us 1.5 hours to really connect with each other. Victoria & Dave were amazing hosts. We will be back again without a doubt.

  • A little gem of an apartment. We also had a few of the amazing ‘treatments/sessions’ on offer by Victoria which we found great. Her hospitality adds to the totally relaxing atmosphere. Lots of walks straight from the apartment. Shops, restaurants and bars a few miles away and yet you feel in the middle of nowhere.

Character filled cottage with all the mod cons, within walking distance of Stroud town centre and acres of National Trust land
The setting is an ideal mix of countryside (5 minute walk up to Rodborough Common) and urban (10 minute walk down to Stroud town centre & train station) Town boasts a variety of independent shops, bars, restaurants, cinema and an award-winning farmers market each Saturday morning. Parking is on the road but there are always spaces nearby with no restrictions.
Rodborough is a highly desirable neighbourhood due to its location to the common with the famous Winstons ice cream factory, miles of open parkland and a multitude of Cotswold country pubs. The locals are a very friendly and charming bunch of people! The Prince Albert pub next to the house wins many awards in the Cotswolds (Best Neighbourhood Pub several years running) where you can listen to live bands or every shape and size, or just enjoy a quiet pint!
  • Very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and Ross was so welcoming and has a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Location close to town and beautiful views across Rodborough Common and close to a great pub and music venue ‘The Prince Albert.’One of our best Airbnb stays.

  • Ross has a lovely home and is very welcoming. Bed very comfy and room size is great. Our second stay and we will come again soon!

    Rosa2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ross' charming cottage is the perfect place to stay when visiting Stroud. It is a short walk from town but directly by the common for excellent walks and scenery. Ross is a fantastic host; very friendly and attentive. He was thoughtful and kept in touch, sharing local tips and advice. He is very knowledgeable about Stroud and passionate about the area - a perfect guide.

  • Best host for a while.

    Ryan2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • My mother in law stayed with Ross for our wedding weekend and she was blown away by the cleanliness, comfortable bed and ease of everything. Thank you Ross for providing such a great place for folk visiting Rodborough to stay in.

    Charlotte2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy and convenient, with the lovely common just up the hill. Ross is a friendly host and makes it very clear and easy how it all works. It’s a good spot if you’re over for a night, but any longer and I think I’d personally need a bit more of my own space. Ultimately though, Ross is opening to his home to perfect strangers which he does so in a very kind and generous way. It’s clear he has made a lot of effort to decorate the house with care, and wants his guests to feel safe and welcome. Thanks again!

    Emily2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this Airbnb was a bit like being transported to an idyllic British fairytale island: Stroud is a fascinating and intriguing location with it’s natural beauty dipping in and out of valleys; however, this quintessentially warm vibe is very present at Ross’ property. From the Beatrix Potter books to the incredibly comfortable sleep, I highly recommend you take the chance to visit Stroud and stay here (central, great pub, fast WiFi, warm, hospitality...etc.) — Enjoy!

    Nicholas2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay at Ross' lovely cottage, and once again we didn't get to meet. My fault as I went straight to the gig at the nearby pub as the weather was horrendous and by the time I left in the Morning Ross had gone to work. Communication with Ross is always superb throughout the stay and his home is very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Hi!, If you stay at Far View I can show you around, take you to the brilliant local pub (3 minute walk) The Prince Albert to see sone live music. Or maybe mountain biking... perhaps come tandem paragliding with me or wild swimming (before the pub not after!) Of course, instead, be relaxed and private, it's up to you. The house has a very large garden, and BBQ with beautiful views across Stroud and the river Severn, so there's a possibility for camping. Town and train 🚂 is a short walk away.
There's the newly refurbished canal (walk down to the stroud brewery for fresh organic local ales and homemade pizza, the river Frome that wind up the Golden valley together, or woodchester lakes, and of course Rodborough common with its fantastic views.

When you arrive you'll find a small welcome basket of food for breakfast. The bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and the floors are all limed oak, warmed by underfloor heating.
We live at the end of a narrow lane, overlooking a quiet valley on the very edge of Nailsworth, and only a short walk to the centre of this small town, with its range of shops, pubs and great restaurants. Five miles away, Stroud is renowned for its creative culture, frequent art and music events, and its awarding winning Saturday morning farmers market.
  • Absolutely perfect stay. The balcony was our favourite. Really great location to base yourself to explore the south cotswolds. Would definitely stay again!

  • The studio was perfect as a base for my partner and I to spend a couple of nights away. Very comfortable and compact, and it had everything we needed. Kate was an excellent host and a warm and friendly welcome was much appreciated. The view from the bedroom is outstanding and worth the steep climb up the driveway!

  • Lovely stay at Kaye's studio. Bed very comfy. Shame in the weather (Storm Ciara). Lovely town for dinner + supermarkets close by also. Enjoyed our trip to Bath which was only 40 minutes drive away. Yummy milk! Thanks Kaye and Richard

  • Just spent a wonderful 2 nights at Kaye and Richards place. The view from the studio apartment is stunning and feels so peaceful. The place is spotlessly clean. tastefully furnished and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. There were fresh flowers in the room , a really comfy bed, quality bedding, organic shower gels and shampoo , not to mention the lovely fresh coffee, fruit, juice, cereals and yogurt for your first breakfast. I would have loved to have stayed longer and hope to stay there again. Kaye and Richard are wonderful hosts who make you feel so welcome. The place is a real hidden gem away from all the hustle bustle of life yet near all the local nearby amenities.

  • I stayed 2 nights for work trip. It is a lovely, cozy, homely place. Great location near town centre, little Co-op a few mins away for easentials. Hosts have made a huge effort to equip the place with lovely touches. I will be returning, any time I'm in Stroud. Exceeded my expectations.

  • We had a great, peaceful stay here, within easy reach from the centre of Stroud and even walkable to Slad and the famous Woolpack Inn. Oana was a super host and there is a great attention to detail in the flat.

  • We had a lovely stay at Stefan and Oana’s place. We didn’t have a car so Oana came and met us at the train station when we first arrived and walked us to the flat (about ten mins walk). The flat itself is small and cosy but not cramped - comfy beds and nice hot shower, little kitchen area with everything you need and a smart TV if you want to watch a movie or listen to music. We had lots of treats and snacks left out for us too :) Stroud is a great place for exploring the area and I would recommend spending a day walking around Slad Valley (following The Laurie Lee route for fans) as suggested by Oana - it was a lovely day. Thank you for having us! Chloe and Nick
