Places to stay in Ebor

Places to stay in Ebor
The cottage is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and families who want to get back to nature without roughing it.
Troutbeck Cottage is your own private sanctuary located on a large park-like block in the heart of a peaceful mountain village. The property features a range of beautiful established trees which attract an abundance of birdlife. Set atop of the Great Dividing Range along the picturesque Waterfall Way, Ebor village is one of the highest located places outside the Alpine region. The cottage is a comfortable space, the wood fire providing the cosy ambience while the contemporary and vintage pieces pay homage to mountain cabin style and the great outdoors. Sit back on your Adirondack chairs on the stone porch and take in the mountain air and greenery. In winter cosy up in front of the fire with a wine and a fleecy blanket. It has been known to snow in Ebor. The cottage has all the inclusions you would expect in a fine hotel, cotton bedding and towel sets, eco soap, hairdryer, iron, as well as a full kitchen and laundry facilities. There is also a travel cot on site for an infant. It also has satellite TV, coffee pod machine and other little extras like coffee table books and throw rugs and cushions to add a touch of cosy luxury. There is also a range of fine teas and pods, and other helpful pantry items like olive oil to get you started. Troutbeck Cottage is easy walking distance to Ebor's famous twin waterfalls along the picturesque (and sealed) national park walking track, the Guy Fawkes River as well as the village café and retro pub (two doors down). Of course Ebor's speciality is its trout fishing and there are an abundance of streams to practise your craft during fishing season October through to June. Then it's just a matter of bringing your bounty home and cooking up a feast on the cottage's barbecue. In summer witness the beautiful displays of wild Shasta daisies throughout the village and surrounding Guy Fawkes River National Park and in autumn the vibrant oranges and reds of its avenues of deciduous trees. The quaint village of Ebor is situated 40mins from the attractive mountain town of Dorrigo and its world heritage national parks and skywalk. The hip and happening Bellingen 'Bello' is a further 20mins down the road from there. The historic New England city of Armidale is also less than an hour's drive.
It's peaceful location and friendly village atmosphere. The crisp, fresh air and abundance of nature in its various forms of glory.
  • A very well appointed cottage with lots of room, good facilities and excellent location to the pub and coffee in Ebor. The garden/yard is beautiful, as is the whole town of Ebor. Really clean, lots of hot water, a combustion stove and more! Really enjoyed out stay.

  • A lovely spot to stop for a couple of nights and rest on our big trip. Our two small children were happy with the big yard and loved all sleeping together in the large bedroom. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Nearby Dorrigo is perfect for a day trip, the waterfall offers great swimming and BBQ facilities. Recommended very highly!

  • A wonderful home to arrive to after travels. We loved how stylish this Airbnb was, there were so many wonderful touches added. The surrounding area is also stunning, and we're tempted to return once the forests regenerate after the bushfires.

  • Great place to stay. Picturesque and private

  • A comfortable property in a tranquil location which made for a relaxing stay. There were very good kitchen facilities, a good sized living area. The location was excellent for visiting the national parks in the area. Access to the property was straightforward. At the time of our visit there had been a number of bushfires which reduced the access to some of the parks, however it is a beautiful area. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

  • Troutbeck is a lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. It has everything you need for a cosy stay. Lesley has thought of everything and has made it super easy to escape for a short break.

  • Troutbeck was the perfect place to relax for a weekend away. Comfortable and stylish, walking distance to friendly local pup and cafe, as well as Ebor Falls, and a short drive to some incredible national parks. Highly recommended!

  • Wendie was the most amazing host, she checked in the next day and arranged a last minute massage for the both of us! Her tips around the property we're spot on and we enjoyed a nice bush walk and swim in the river! Great getaway to reset and spend some quality time. The chillies in the veggie hamper where the right amount of hot as well! The stay as everything youll need in relation to amenities and im sure Wendie would be more then happy to help with anything else.

    Krystal2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn’t speak highly enough of our experience at Wendie’s little piece of heaven. A truly remarkable location and one where switching off and melting into your surrounds comes with ease. Wendie truly has thought of everything for the cottage and there is ample outdoor comfort to enjoy the nature you’re nestled in. We had our puppy with us and Wendie accommodated him just as much as us. To go with all the physical beauty, Wendie is a remarkable woman and I am looking forward to seeing her again.

  • If you’re looking to immerse yourself in nature, and get away from all the hustle and bustle, Nulla Nulla Blacksmith’s Retreat is for you! Wendie is such a friendly, wonderful and helpful host. She really went above and beyond to ensure we had the most relaxing, care-free time and that we truly made the most of our time at the property. The cabin has been thoughtfully styled with beautiful touches and all the comforts of home. We particularly loved hanging out by the fire place and soaking in the claw-foot tub! The sound of the birds singing in the morning and the creek below the cabin is totally mesmerising. We spent our days reading our on the deck, swimming in the creek and getting cosy by the fire in the evening. Wendie’s cabin exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return some day! It was truly hard to leave this little piece of paradise! xx

  • Nulla Nulla Blacksmiths retreat is the most amazing and tranquil place. From the moment you drive in and are greeted by three beautiful dogs, to Wendie the amazing host and sitting on the balcony with a cuppa tea watching all the birds and wildlife. Wendie is a brilliant host and the space is just beautiful, I could not find fault with anything. I would highly recommend the veggie box, the fresh organic produce was delightful. The yoga session by the creek is vitalising and relaxing! I will be back to soak in the Nulla Nulla vibes again.

    Alexander2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed with this beautiful get away, from the beautiful country drive to Wendies outstanding hospitality. Make sure you order a veggie box from Wendies organic veggie patch. You can completely detach from every day life and enjoy this beautiful slice of paradise

    Jo2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The ambiance and sheer beauty of this place needs to be experienced. It is a piece of paradise. Well worth the drive through beautiful countryside. Coupled with great hosts, I can not recommend Nulla Nulla Blacksmiths enough. I also suggest you take advantage of Wendie’s culinary skills. You won’t be disappointed.

    Stuart2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil setting that exceeds "The Castle's" serenity in leaps and bounds. Great place to relax and the yoga session only compounds that relaxed feeling that overwhelms you. Not only the poses but the calming instruction. Wish I had elected to have a massage as well! Given my wife's incredible cooking creativity I am always a bit apprehensive expecting a meal to match hers, and being 'upriver' I was even more so, but the dinners (vege pie and pasta bake) produced by the chef were gorgeous and the micro-green salads just delectable. Plenty big enough servings as well, in fact there was pie enough for the next day's lunch. Catered our own breakfast and lunch so can't comment on those. Some people just know what taste and service needs to be so get out there and enjoy it. Leaf tea, teapot and strainer...gotta be a good place. Like your birds? Then sit and watch from the verandahs. Front and back have them with comfy lounges and the back lower level also has some outdoor chairs to maximise your sun uptake.

Our charming cottage is located a short walk from the main street of Dorrigo with great views of surrounding farmland . It has a wood burner and air conditioner for comfort. Dorrigo is a friendly country town with some interesting local shops and great cafes. It is surrounded by National Parks and waterfalls. Whether you want to explore the local natural attractions, attend any of the festivals or events on offer or just simply to curl up with a good book, Kurrajong is the ideal home base.
  • Lea-Anne’s beautiful cottage ‘Kurrajong’ was a ‘home away from home’. Well appointed with everything you need including a fully supplied kitchen and helpful tips about the area. Lea-Anne was a great communicator and most helpful. Outstanding furnishings and super clean, Kurrajong is super comfortable!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dorrigo is a beautiful little town, well worth a visit and Lea-Annes place is the perfect place to stay.

    Robyn2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as we opened the door, we felt welcome. Its cool, stylish interior embraced us. Kurrajong had everything we needed...lots of space, assorted arts and furnishings, fabulous hot showers after a long trek in the National Park and chairs on the veranda to enjoy a cool drink or dinner at the end of the day. Looking forward to returning in winter so we can try out the fire!!

    Louise2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • When we opened the front door we were blown away by just how amazing this house is. It's one of the most stylish places I've ever stayed, with so many original and elegant touches to the decor - even better than it looks in the photos. The location is also great - a few minutes' walk to the centre of town but with a gorgeous outlook over fields at the back. It has everything you could possibly need for a short stay, except wifi, although we didn't feel that we needed the internet for entertainment with the large collection of DVDs and magazines on offer. Very highly recommended.

    Sarah2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Lea-Anne and Phil was a five-star accommodation and we could not have expected to celebrate the new year anywhere else. As such, it is one of the best AirBNB accommodations we have ever stayed in. We star gazed in the large back yard till late in the night. It was a totally refreshing atmosphere. We will surely return if opportunity presents. Thank you, Lea-Anne and Phil.

    Viswanath2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lea-Anne is a great host and thought about all the details. The house is fully renovated and amazing inside and outside. Will be back.

    Thiago2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to explore Dorrigo and beyond. The house was very well decorated. One of the cleanest AirBNBs we have ever stayed in! Highly recommend.

    Chris2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third stay at Lea-Anne’s place. It is always such a pleasure, the house is immaculate and comfortable. Everything is just as described or better and Lea-Anne goes above and beyond to ensure every detail has been taken care of. The location is ideal for exploring Dorrigo and surrounding areas, you can’t go past it. I’ll definitely be back!

WEILHOUSE LIVING: WHO WE ARE We offer 4 unique properties under our brand WeilHouse Living. Three of those properties are Farmstays on our beautiful 8 acre Organic Farm in Bellingen NSW. Each property has been lovingly built and restored to tread lightly on the planet and to maximise the beautiful surrounds. The Bellingen Farm House, The Bellingen Vintage Farmstay and The Bellingen Farm Shed cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets. Guests can book the entire farm for a special occasion. For direct bookings search the web for Weilhouseliving. OUR VISION Our vision is simple, we are committed to providing our guests with eco-friendly accomodation and to provide you with a beautiful space which is fully equiped for you to enjoy your holiday with your loved ones. OUR HUT SPACE: Our cleverly restored eco-hut is well-insulated and spacious, sleeping up to nine people in a comfortable design that minimises your carbon footprint. It has been crafted from recycled timber and fittings with off-grid solar power, a slow-combustion fireplace and indoor-outdoor living options to take advantage of the stunning daytime vistas and sparkling night skies. Adventurers, bushwalkers and nature lovers will delight in the easy access to fishing spots, horseriding trails, waterfalls, swimming holes, lookouts and walking tracks in all directions. Surrounded by bush and pasture in total privacy, the hut is a short drive to town for basic supplies but far enough away to retreat and replenish in a unique, breathtaking setting. LAYOUT The hut is open plan, with four sleeping spaces including a small loft with a single and queen sized mattress suitable for children, as there's little head clearance in the loft. There are three queen size beds downstairs. While each is in its own area, If privacy is important then this hut won't suit you as none of the bedrooms have doors and are part of an open plan layout. Extra guests can pitch a tent nearby the open fire pit and outdoor barbecue area with its own sink. The outside bathroom with toilet and shower has glorious views over the paddocks and fruit trees. From late spring to early autumn you can help yourselves to the peaches, nectarines, pears and plums (before the birds do). The open-style living area can be closed off with glass doors for winter comfort and includes a kitchen with a slow-combustion stove and gas cooktop, also great for heating the whole hut on those cold winter nights. AMENITIES There's no fridge (they suck a lot of power!) but you can keep fresh produce icy cold in the 125L commercial Esky – an old-fashioned ice box with plenty of storage. Ice is also available at the Ebor service station five minutes away. Or you can pick it up en route at Dorrigo, Grafton or Armidale. We suggest 3-4 bags of ice. We supply soap, pillows, doonas, blankets and toilet paper .. but due to the remote location of the hut we are unable to provide towels sheets and pillow cases. So please bring a fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillow cases to go under the doonas and blankets provided. Please do not use our own linen as they are for our own use only. All beds are queen sized except one single matress in the loft. Our hybrid slow-combustion-solar power set-up means there is minimal power for gadgetry, but a single power outlet allows you to recharge small electronic devices. Telstra's 3G network provides mobile coverage. We've supplied a stack of board games and puzzles plus cards and books, so staying here is a chance to slow down, chat fireside, play games, read and relax the old-fashioned way. Due to the remoteness of the hut and the limited power on site our caretaker cleans and prepares the hut for your arrival. All you need to do is enjoy the hut and all that it has to offer. We are unable to use a vacuum on site due to limited power. so all cleaning is done by broom. We appreciate your understanding. HUT INFO When you arrive at the hut please read through the hut Information folder carefully, as it explains where everything is and how it all works. There is also a detailed check list to follow when you check out ensure the hut is shut down properly and our equipment is looked after.

  • Our baby moon had a perfect start here in the Hernani Wilderness. I love living off grid and am looking forward to building something like the Hernani hut myself someday. Loved the instructions, they were all clear and straightforward. Thankyou.

  • Very peaceful & relaxing. Everything has been thought about. Very secluded except for the cows. We spent New Years eve there & absolutely loved it. Make sure you take enough ice. 😉 highly recommend staying here.

  • A lovely stay. High car clearance for access definitely recommended - otherwise a beautiful basic hut.

  • It was fantastic place for For people who like to live in rural areas and stay away for the inconvenience and enjoy the campfire in the backyard and enjoy watching the kangaroos and listen to birdsong

    Ahmed2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Susan sent me comprehensive instructions about finding and gaining access to the Wilderness Hut. The short drive from the road, through the copse of trees, was a delight. From the outside, the hut does not look striking but it soon became clear that much thought had been put into the design of this made-from-recyclables shack. We absolutely LOVED it. The weather was cold and we lit the fires soon after settling in. The whole place was well-sealed against the winter cold. I baked bread in the wood fired oven. The shower was hot. The bed was super comfy. This place is an absolute treat.

Miss Myrtle is a little house in a great spot. It is self contained with all your own amenities. You can cook a meal, sit outside in the sun and just relax. You are only 400m from the heart of town.
Miss Myrtle is on the same block as a small hydraulics business so there will be a little noise during the day but nothing to distracting. A portacot and linen is available upon request.
Dangar Falls is only 1.6kms away you can even walk to it if you want to. Dorrigo Rainforest Centre is 4kms away so just a short drive.
  • Emmas place is really lovely, beds and linen were divine. We liked that it was walking distance to town and to Dangar falls which were spectacular. We wondered whether the workplace behind would be annoying but we didnt hear anything. Woukd definately recommend

  • Delightful setting with spectacular views. The gardens are superb. It was a joy to sit on the verandah and watch the wallabies grazing at dusk, or to sit around the wood fire in the lounge room at night. A very comfortable cottage in a tranquil and beautiful spot. We enjoyed the scenic drive into Dorrigo each day. Once back at the cottage though, we didn't want to leave.

From Dorrigo and exactly 1.01 km down Moonpar Forest Drive is an open planned log cabin in the middle of a blue gum bush. There are well maintained walking tracks that are assessable to wheelchairs especially powered wheelchairs. Four wheel drive down Moonpar Rd and find further assessable spots such as Platypus flats and The Norman Jolly Reserve.
An open planned log cabin with a very spacious and well appointed master bedroom. There is an inside fireplace for cold mountain nights and all the modern conveniences such as air conditioners and "Alexa"and a mega blast speaker which can be used outside. The kitchen is well-stocked and very functional. There are three outside dining areas with a very large lawn and many walking tracks. It's a great place for friends and family reunions.
  • WOW. This house is just beautiful! The entire property is so picturesque. The main bedroom is spacious and has gorgeous high ceilings. We found all the appliances, pots and pans we needed in the kitchen to make breakfast and dinner. The property is very well kept and extremely clean. Highly, highly recommend, would love to bring my family here in the future for a little getaway. Stop looking, this is the place to book.

  • We cannot rate John's hospitality high enough. This home is not just what you see in photos, but instead a beautiful, warming, charming, luxurious, relaxing, romantic home away from home!! The abundance of wildlife, and stunning lush surrounds, waking up to the sounds of rosellas twittering, the resident peahens and their chicks greeting you by the door for breakfast, lighting the fireplace, relaxing in the undercover spa in the patio, or large spa off the main bedroom. This cabin exceeded all expectations, the layout is like a private mountain retreat. We walked in and were greeted by a hot bubbly spa, classical music, fresh picked flowers set out in vases, pantry stocked and wine glasses at the ready. The rain on the tin roof and the scenery of surrounding lime trees and abundant gardens with beautiful flowers. Enough about the home! We could go on forever!! But John! Thank you!! Without John's thoughtful and caring nature, we would probably still be stuck in our 4x4 in the middle of a National Park in the rain and mud, thank you for saving our bacon and organising for us to be rescued. WE WILL BE BACK! ❤️❤️

  • An absolutely stunning place - both inside and out. The property takes up its own little valley which is full of sculptured landscape and ponds. Whilst its completely isolated its also only 12 minutes drive from Dorrigo and the amazing Dangar Falls pool and the Rainforest walks. We loved our stay !

  • My favorite Airbnb to date. If you’re traveling from overseas, you absolutely have to stay here. It’s a must. If you’re a local, this should be your new “go-to-getaway.” The property is gorgeous, and you can explore the grounds at your leisure. The peacocks roam around and visit with you. The wild birds come to the feeder and don’t mind that you’re sitting outside at the table playing a game with your family and having wine and cheese. We walked over to the river (you can drive to it too, if you aren’t feeling up to the walk or if you want to picnic but don’t want to lug everything down to the river...it’s not that far though). We could have stayed at John’s river all day. It’s gorgeous. If you’ve got kids, they can play on the river boulders and swim. The water was warm. I expected it to be freezing and was surprised. We skipped rocks, climbed river boulders, saw a kangaroo, and raced sticks down the river. So yes, I was Christopher Robin for a day and after seeing Roo, I couldn’t help but look for Piglet and Pooh. I didn’t want to leave. We also went to the Dorrigo Rainforest National Park and did the hike loop to the two waterfalls. Again, if you’re traveling from overseas, this is a must. It’s gorgeous and John’s Airbnb is the perfect place to stay for visiting this breathtaking rainforest. We just left the Airbnb yesterday, and I already want to go back. I want to go back to the house at Pooh Corner.

Cockatoo Cabin is a newly refurbished cabin that welcomes guests to relax and unwind. Nestled among the rolling green hills of the famous Dorrigo plateau, the cabin is situated adjacent to Bielsdown Creek and has beautiful creek views and a bush aspect. If you're keen to explore the Dorrigo World Heritage Rainforest (Skywalk Lookout) and surrounding sights and townships or prefer to simply be still and rediscover your creativity and calm then Cockatoo Cabin is a must!
Cockatoo Cabin, part of the Dorrigo Waterfall Cabins group, is conveniently situated a few minutes drive from the Dorrigo township centre and only a few hundred metres downstream from the spectacular Dangar Falls. At Dangar Falls, an 8-10 minute easy walk down a secure boardwalk takes you to the bottom where the big pond is a very popular swimming spot. Competent swimmers can even swim over to the waterfall, sit underneath it and let the waterfall cascade over your shoulders – wow! Guests have the entire cabin to themselves, access to a brand new, well equipped kitchen, as well as to a BBQ on a large private deck situated practically on top of Bielsdown Creek. Sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of running water and wildlife – including the distinctive local black cockatoo squawk. You simply won't find another place like this in Australia.
Guests will have no choice but to relax in the tranquil surroundings. There are lots of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants in the Dorrigo township itself, or after a busy day of exploring, return to the cabin and crank up the BBQ for a relaxing meal on your own private deck with a view! (There are two well stocked supermarkets in town which you drive past to get to us).
  • Fantastic communication from the hosts. Nestled in nature. Beautiful garden surrounds. Private cabin overlooking running waters. Fall asleep to the sound of a real waterfall. Highly Recommend.

  • We spent a very nice time in this excellent accommodation. We lacked for nothing. The surroundings are worth seeing (Wonga Track in Dorrigo NP, swimming in the Danger Falls) and the hosts are very friendly, cordial and sooo multicultural. What a joy! :-)

  • Great location perfect cottage, clean, tidy best host’s we have come across. If you want to get away and relax with you partner best place ever. If you also have some fur babies even better, room for them to sleep out if they want to in the heat, swimming and walking (rock hopping) everywhere and the cottage is really setup for pets.

  • We had an amazing time. It was so nice and relaxing even Pablo (our little Frenchie) loved it. Only thing my husband wished was a bigger dvd selection so he could binge on movies all night haha but other than that it was great! Thank you for being such an amazing host. Your hospitality has been one that we would never forget and definitely recommend.

  • A beautiful little cabin on the water, great to escape the hustle n bustle of the real World. We can happily recommend a stay here.

  • Such a beautiful and amazing location, you will not want to leave! Leen was so kind and attuned, she was always available to help-with my bags and made a special effort to warm the place for my stay just for examples. My dog beyond loved the place. There is also a great walk in town a short drive away that is dog friendly, but enough space around for dogs to play themselves! No reception is actually such a gift, I felt so connected and balanced by disconnecting in the cabin and tuning into nature. I could easily download something to watch in the evening during the day nearby (my laptop and hdmi cable to TV) but I found myself enjoying reading and doing yoga more! I loved this space-simple, natural light, comfy bed and waking up to the flow of water-Devine! Enjoyed cooking yummy meals with the organic fare I collected in Bellingen kn the way in-it was like a meditation in the kitchen here. Will be coming back for an extended retreat:) super! So grateful!

  • This location is secluded and a bit of a drive but is absolutely worth the drive. We loved seeing a completely different side of Australia. Really got to see nature. Just sitting outside and listening to the animals is an experience. If you are a family it will really help your family get closer and enjoy each other’s company. They left us a awesome welcome brekkie basket with local food. Huge space with a fireplace to keep you warm for the cold nights. Unclear about where to park and no Wifi but for this location I think that’s a good thing.

  • We stayed at Lucy’s place for only one night and wasn’t enough. We should have stayed more than one night and explore more her farm and enjoy peace and lovely atmosphere. House is well maintained and complementary breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs and freshly baked bread. Lucy thank you for your time in the morning and taking us around to meet with your farm animals. We really want to come back to your farm again. For those who love nature, peace and quiet environment you should go and stay at Lucy’s place.

  • We had two nights at waterfall way farm stay for my husbands graduation ceremony at UNE coming from Brisbane as a family of 5 plus my husbands parents we wanted something a little bigger than a motel. We couldn’t of been happier with Waterfall Way farm stay, only 35 min from Armidale. The house was huge, plenty of space for everyone. My eight year old enjoyed feeding the cows and chickens and trying to catch a trout in the river, ping pong and of course the play station, that grandma loved to play with him. It is so quiet and peaceful, beautiful parrots, kangaroo’s and the cattle. My teenage son enjoyed taking photos of the stars, beautiful night sky! We would definitely recommend Waterfall Way farm stay Lucy and her family were wonderful, can’t wait to go back but next time we will stay longer!

  • We had the most amazing stay at Bill and Sharon’s little piece of Paradise. The cabin is right on the Bellinger River with views straight onto state forest. There was beautiful fresh flowers round the house and the fire was going when we arrived so we could get toasty straight away! The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever stayed in! Thanks for a great few days we will definitely be back :-)

  • River Cottage is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle and get well away from it all. A river at the bottom of the garden, log fire, spacious surroundings, deck to sit and drink coffee and read a book, etc. It is a distance from either Dorrigo and Bellingen (45+ mins ) so take all your shopping with you as there are very minimal things like salt/pepper/tea in the house. Only one hotplate ( no stove yet) but an electric frypan makes cooking a meal a bit difficult. TV did not work (+ no cables) so take a laptop if you want to access Netflix via WiFi - lots of books, Scrabble and cards. Sharon (and Dee next door) were very helpful and helped make our stay very relaxing.

    Tony2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place has all of the best bits of camping (fire, beautiful outlook, remoteness) without the dodgy bits. The exclusive access to creek is lovely. Bellingen is not far away but you will not want to leave so make sure you bring all the food and wine to keep you going!

  • Wow, what a fantastic place, we had such a great time at Boss Berries we stayed an extra night. The house was stylish and clean and toasty warm in winter. The property is beautiful and well kept with so many things to do and explore, dams, rivers, creeks, fishing, animals, rolling hills to name a few. The kids loved Henny Penny and Dopey. Beautiful views in all directions. We highly recommend this property - the host is a real gem. There is also so much to do in the surrounding area. Will definitely be back.

  • Our stay was nothing short of perfection!! This holiday took my breath away; the farm is so so beautiful. Absolutely stunning, peaceful, relaxing, clean & cosy sanctuary. We were welcomed with delicious homemade scones, lovely aroma candles, freshly picked sweet pea flowers from the garden, a burning fire & bottle of wine with the most spectacular view to watch the sun go down from the verandah. Comfortable, Cosy, quaint, tasteful cottage with everything you need. I fell in love with this place! The beds were extremely comfortable with high quality linen/sheets/pillows etc. The main bedroom was like sleeping amongst the clouds. Plenty of room for a family. Some things we loved about Fay's Cottage; laying in front of the fireplace curled up on the (very comfy!) sofa reading magazines & enjoying a bottle of wine, eating yummy breakfast in the entrance sun room soaking up the sunshine, afternoon cups of tea rugged up on the verandah watching the sun go down & clouds roll in, the serenity and lovely vibe of the place, every direction you looked there were amazing views, the personal touches everywhere. The cottage and property is so relaxing & serene that you don’t need to leave, but if you do there are plenty of things to do in the area and lots of ideas and information are left inside. Beautiful cattle and horses on the property, we loved listening to the birds and bees and appreciating the stillness and crisp fresh air. Apart from the property's scenic beauty the thing that stood out the most was Hugh & Jannienes first class hospitality & personal touch; it made our stay extra special! The loveliest, helpful, warm & friendly hosts I've met, they really made us feel at home! Full of good tips and local recommendations, always more than happy to answer any questions etc. Hugh helped us light our fire every afternoon (by helped I mean did it for us) and we were also lucky enough to get a glimpse of the farm and help feed the cattle and a baby calf "Martina" who we met at 24 hours old - what a special experience that was nurturing her in her first few days. So much fun! They are so genuine and passionate and it was a pleasure to meet them and stay in the cottage. A holiday to remember; I will definitely be back!! A great place for couples, friends, family or solo travellers. Thanks for a fabulous few days - I recommend to all, it's a beautiful part of the world. X

Heritage cottage town centre. Close the gate, private garden with shady verandah, courtyard, garden at the back. Beautiful winter or summer High ceilings, cosy lounge lots of sofas a deep tub to soak away the day. Ambience of yesteryear We have upgraded the space with larger dining table art works and various furniture to make it more homely and inviting. Our photos show new and old pics. I am sure our regular guests will enjoy the difference. Sadly our wood stove has to be replaced by gas.
Step back in time built when the pace of Iife was much slower . Just a note our house is a heritage cottage built prior to 1900 please check out the photos and if you need clarification please ask..if on the other hand you are into streamline new architecture or smick renovations this is not the cottage for you 🤔😎 We love the old cottage which is heritage listed and tried to keep it as authentic as possible. If on the other hand you are into the historical you will feel right at home . It is an Australian cultural experience totally unique to the time it was built and one to be cherished from a time long past. There are two large bedrooms. Bed 1 is a queen four poster. Bedroom 2 also a heritage queen bed. Both beds are comfortable and cosy. We can provide a porta cot and we do have a queen size sofa bed in the lounge. Just ask in advance we are happy to help with sleeping logistics to make your stay comfortable:) (Also happy to answer enquiries for single night stays depending on the season etc) Nb the price quoted is for the is for two beds should you require extra linen for three beds or the sofa bed there will be an extra charge All have duvees and plenty of cosy extras. The lounge is large with very high 15 ft ceilings conveniently heated by an instant gas heater . It is extremely effective and heats the whole house. (We do not recommend it be left on whilst sleeping. There are oil heaters in the bedrooms as well as electric blankets). There is a large screen TV as well as books and games. The sitting room dining room has an extra sofa, the perfect place to curl up with a book. The kitchen is fully equipped with all dishes utensils cutlery etc also has a coffee maker, toaster, microwave as well as a full electric stove complete with oven and four hotplates. The back of the house has a private courtyard which is a lovely sunny spot. Beyond that is a large garden. The front entrance to the house is straight off the main street but totally private. we have no stairs to the main entrance but a ramp. The bathroom is original shower over the deep old fashioned bath. The sink in the bathtub has no hot water but the shower is wonderfully hot. There is a spare wash basin in the kitchen area with hot water. A cottage garden and high hedge give you total privacy whilst being in the centre of town. If you choose you have no need to drive as everything in the town is steps away. Bakery next door supermarket steps away hotel across the road together with many fabulous cafes. The front verandah is a comfortable place to sit and relax in the afternoon sun or indeed as it's covered a great place to watch storms or be outside on the inclement days . We have lots of throw rugs! curl up with a book and a hot cuppa. Check us out on Facie 41 Hickory or destination Dorrigo. Send us a message we are happy to answer any questions. If its a same day booking also enquire sometimes we will be able to organise that :) Kind regards Maria
We love the fact that you do not have to drive once you gave settled in. When you open your front gate you have everything you could possibly require at your fingertips. At the same time close the gate total privacy on the front verandah and in the private courtyard at the back of the property. So many comfy nooks to sit read ponder have a cuppa or wine inside and out of the cottage. We never tire of the seasons in Dorrigo. We love the quirky furniture it is a one of a kind cottage. Many people comment it takes them back to their grandparents house/ time. Easy drive to Dorrigo National World Heritage rain forest centre and Park. Other longer drives Ebor Falls and Cathedral Rock National Park. Dangar Falls also very close to town. On another note we are in the main streets next to a bakery there is some traffic noise and the occasional baking pan crash
  • If you are looking for a cosy home with charm then this is the place for you. The little touches will make your day even better then you could have possibly thought. Perfect to explore all the waterfalls and we even scored a band at the RSL and then at the pub!!! If this place has caught your eye then book right now, you will not regret it. Go to Dorrigo!!!

  • We were a group of 6 fellas and this space could not be more perfect. With a view of the sun rising over lush green hills each morning and a fresh flowing creek below, this place was paradise. The cabin next door even mentioned they sat and watched from the Lyrebird Cottage a Platypus for over half an hour in the creek. It sounded like a nice way to spend the morning with a hot coffee in hand. May & Leen provided us with an abundant amount of local suggestions, from the best gushing waterfalls, to great Local eateries. This whole area is called the Promised Land for a reason! The space was more than comfortable and gave us all a refreshing weekend away. I am sure we will get back here, but next time for a longer stay. Could not recommend this place enough!

    Conrad2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • NEARLY missed out on booking the Rosella Cottage, as I'd left it to the last minute. Ohhhh how sad we would have been! stayed for three nights over Anzac day & just SO loved breakky on the deck, with the mist rising above the treetops & the neverending sound of the waterfall at your footstep. The evenings were spent the same way, after touring and visiting the surrounding area. No need to go into town to eat, when you can whip up something simple & enjoy the ambience. The cottage has EVERYTHING you could think of if you wanted to cook extravagantly - just like being at home. We were lucky enough to meet the owners & learn the history of the cottages & their home. We lit the indoor fire ... then had to wear tshirts as it heated the place SO much. Thankyou. Gorgeous. Do yourself a favour & stay here for a total 'chill' vibe. No internet? No reception? No worries x

  • Mt Christopherson was the perfect spot for our three families incl. a pile of energetic kids for a long weekend. The property is really something special & worthy of exploration. We took strolls to the lookouts, did a treasure hunt & plenty of footy kicking by day, torch-walk at night & the intermittent rain meant plenty of time for board games and soaking up the incredible view. The accommodation is nicely set up for communal living & very comfortable. The hospitality was exceptional (including a much-appreciated Saturday newspaper!) and nothing was too much trouble. The retreat has clearly created with much care and the grounds maintenance is impeccable. I would recommend this gem to family groups (our kids 7-11). Thanks so much for having us!

We have our own labyrinth in a secluded bush clearing within 350 metres of the retreat. Ideal for small groups of friends and colleagues or for family get togethers. Min night stays may automatically apply during peak periods however please feel free to enquire if you are looking for a shorter stay.
Dorrigo is a gorgeous town, along the Waterfall Way, between Coffs Harbour and Armidale. There are some magnificent cafes and boutiques in town, as well as a local butcher, fruit & veg shop, 2 x independent supermarkets, sweet shop, toy shop, antiques store, bakery, post office & banks as well as a lovely pub. Just out of town, we have the Dorrigo rainforest centre where you can take a 'sky walk' and view the amazing rainforests and surrounds. Dangar Falls, a magnificent waterfall is also a short drive out of town.
  • We had the entire down stairs section, Avalon & Tranquility, with our adult sons. The Avalon section formed a great communal area for the family. Plenty of area for everyone. Good clean accommodation with helpful onsite caretakers. Beautiful views and fantastic grounds. Enjoyed the grounds as much as the accommodation.

Swallows Nest is a peaceful country retreat in the lush hinterland of the Dorrigo Plateau, which half way between Coffs Harbour and Armidale. Situated in the locality of Deer Vale, Swallows Nest overlooks a mix of well-planned gardens, rolling green pastures and distant native woodland. The house is beautifully furnished for simplicity and comfort to ensure you have a relaxing stay. It is surrounded by established gardens, a beautiful tallowwood barn and secure dog accommodation.
Our property is as safe as possible but it is not ideal for elderly people, toddlers or people with reduced mobility. We do have some steep stairs, which would be a challenge for some and the flue from the fireplace goes through the floor to one of the upstairs bedrooms. The flue makes the upstairs room nice and cosy in Winter but it might be too much of a temptation for tiny hands.
There are at least three National Parks in the area, so there is an abundance of places to walk and natural beauty to explore. It is also a bird-watchers paradise. Nearby Dorrigo is a charming and very friendly country town with a good selection of local shops. About 30 mins down the road is Belligen, which is well-known for its lively atmosphere, great restaurants and shopping.

  • Great spot in a beautiful location

  • All that it promised and more. Instant tree change, magnificent vista from the breakfast deck and the best natural swimming pool and spa on the river.

  • This is a good place to relax and to disconnect from technology. The accomodation was easy to find and had most things we needed, it was good value for money. Big space and big kitchen and nice hot shower. They have a beautiful place, well kept garden and we are very thankful for their hospitality. There were some daddy long leg spiders and cobwebs inside the cabin which we didn’t mind personally — but calling it out so future guests know what to expect. Having said that, they may have already taken on feedback and removed them for future guests. Overall we had a great stay!

  • A very relaxing and cosy Farmstay. Open fireplace is perfect in the colder weather

  • Our stay with Shara and Jock was the highlight of our trip. Anyone interested in a working sheep and cattle station would be well advised to visit. Jock took us on a tour of his property which is at the top end of modern pastoral farming. Using electronics and progeny testing he is continuing to push boundaries. Shara and Jock bent over backwards to make us welcome. We spent an enjoyable evening over a delious dinner. Their home, where we stayed offered privacy and all required amenities. Beautifully furnished and so comfortable. We wish them the best and look forward to further contact.

  • This was a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the house was spacious and elegant..well appointed. The additional dining experience was delicious and we really enjoyed the company with Jock and Shara. Thanks for a special stopover on our way to Sydney.

  • My adult daughter and I stayed for a winter night at Shara’s home, each with our own comfortable bedrooms, and private access to the extensive older part of the family’s beautiful federation home, with large modernized bathroom, and a cosy glassed-in conservatory that afforded fine views over the property. We walked around the paddocks in the glorious expansive landscape, dotted with the fine merino sheep they raise, and enjoyed a delicious dinner cooked for us by Shara, who joined us for a most interesting conversation. Communication with her was warm and helpful, and I would thoroughly recommend Coningdale for a special experience of the Australian bush. There is a well-equipped small kitchen in the conservatory, and a large comfortable lounge room for the exclusive use of guests.

To those looking to book, air bnb isn’t allowing us to accept bookings. Apologies, we’re working on this and will try to reach out when the account is resolved. Bellbrook is an amazing escape from the city. With increasing opportunity for eco tourism, we have been working on creating open relaxing spaces ready for exploration and adventure. The property is 1.7km from front to rear with hundreds of meters of creek frontage backing onto the National Park.
Offering a glamping experience, a furnished bell tent is located near the central cooking/campfire area. There is an outdoor kitchen with cooking equipment, refrigerator , private toilet and shower area. Freshwater baths can be located for private use. Range of additional tents and camping gear available for hire. Steve and Jay are available for bushwalk/creek tours, kayak available for hire with safety equipment and instruction. We are in a bush area, a safety induction will be provided on arrival. Handheld radio given to anyone adventuring out on the property. Even on the hottest days in summer the property cools down below 20 at night (great for a comfortable sleep), Cresent head is approx. 45 min drive from the property.
Historic Bellbrook is untouched bushland that is ready for exploring. We still haven't explored all of the property and have been making trails, you can help us with exploring! Naming rights available for points of interest (or platypus) you find on the property! The locals are friendly and may drop in to say hello, they are always good for a yarn. The incredible variety of local native birds, wallabies & bandicoots makes waking up to the crackle of the breakfast fire paradise!
