  • This is an awesome place. Very cozy winter getaway! The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms super clean! View the parking video before you go... that would have been helpful for myself for sure. Getting there also in the daylight would have been a plus. The fire pit, hot tub, and fireplace were very nice pluses.

  • We loved our stay in this cabin. It had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The fireplace was very warm, the beds comfortable, and hot water showers were very enjoyable. Beautiful cabin inside and out. The renters next door were very friendly as well. Great communication with the host. Banner Elk Cafe food was excellent and Valle de Bravo had delicious fajitas and cheese dip! We skied at Sugar and Beech Mountain, about a 15 min drive to all these except Beech was a little further drive.

  • Great hospitality and beautiful cabin. In the winter months though make sure to bring a vehicle that is AWD or has 4x4, in case of snow and ice. If not, make sure to shovel the snow and lay salt before leaving. I would also recommend parking your vehicles at the lowest driveway. my family had a blast though and the commute to Sugar Mountain and Banner Elk are reasonable!

  • Great location. Close to sugar mountain and Hawks nest. Clean home with nice touches. Plenty of kitchen gear (crockpot, the whole nine) and spices!! (So nice!) towels and soap left on bed for arrival was a nice touch. Great place, we will be back!

  • Eunice was a wonderful hostess. The house was very clean and cozy, beds are comfortable, and there is a fenced in yard for children and pets to play in. She had a fully stocked kitchen and then some, a Keurig with coffee pods provided, and plenty of blankets and pillows. We received complimentary entry from her to Grandfather Mtn which was beautiful. She made excellent recommendations as well. We had a wonderful time in the snow!

  • This was a great place for us to return to after skiing/tubing at Beech Mountains. Comfortable and had everything we needed to relax and feel at home. Eunice left a note and little bunny that my boys loved (such a thoughtful touch!). We used the grill to cook out on after skiing all day. The fenced yard was great for our dog. Bed were comfortable, shower was hot, and we had every amenity needed (coffee pot, dishwasher, washer/dryer, etc). Thank you so much Eunice!

Sweet mountain house with Lots of natural light, big yard, in a sweet neighborhood. View of the Hump Mountain with Appalachian Trail access and winter lights of the Beech Mountain Ski Slopes from the porch swing. Just down the road to the Elk River Falls. Perfect get away for the avid outdoorsman or for rest and rejuvination.
The house is charming with lots of antiques that are safe from children !
The neighborhood is quiet and yards are large.
  • This place was SO CUTE! It's about 15 minutes to Banner Elk. I would certainly recommend it to others!

  • This home is so lovely, and comfortable. It was extremely clean, and felt like home as soon as we walked in. It is a ten minute drive to Elk River Falls, and while your there check out Times Square Restaurant up the road. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in a long time. Bring some board games, books, and enjoy family time.

    Hope2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my very first stay in an Airbnb and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I don't really like hotels, and we needed a place for 4 to stay for the weekend so I started looking at my options. While Edwina's place may not have been the closest to where we wanted to be, the charm kept drawing me back in. I wasn't disappointed. This is a charming little house on a not so busy street. It's QUIET here aside from the traffic going to and from the waterfall at the end of the street. If you stay here, you really should check out the waterfall, especially if it's warm weather and you want to go for a swim! It's a nice couple mile drive to the end of the road. You'll pass some old houses and barns and a Christmas tree farm. When you get to the end of the road you park your car and it's probably about a .2 mile hike down to the swimming hole. It's a really pretty sight and I wish we'd have thought to bring bathing suits! Back on the main road there are a couple of antique stores full of hidden treasures. There is also a hardware store that is 4th generation owned and operated. Everyone in this little strip is friendly. A little further up the street is a local produce market. We wanted to check this out, but unfortunately they had just closed when we arrived. Luckily there was an Ingles grocery store right down the road. We prepared most of our meals at the house so unfortunately didn't get to check out any of the local restaurants on the list. They all looked great though! We were in town to check out the Land of Oz. That had been on my destination list for many years. I think it's something anyone who likes the wizard of Oz should go to at least once. Back at the house we all enjoyed sitting on the front porch. My son loved the old couch. He also enjoyed the old rotary telephone in the house. That's just not something you see all the time anymore. I spent more hours on that front porch relaxing than I have since who knows when. There are several cats in the area that I would see go by, but they never came to the house or anywhere near me. Kind of a shame as it would have been nice to rock on that front porch petting a cat! This old House didn't have central AC, but that wasn't needed. We just opened the windows and it stayed pretty cool. In fact, late at night it got pretty cold. We didn't have any cell phone reception with our carrier (T-Mobile) which was okay, except it's been so long since I was somewhere without reception that I just wasn't used to it. There were places around town that I had it, and sometimes out in the front yard. So just be prepared to disconnect here. We absolutely loved our stay here and loved this little house and yard. I wish we would have had time to roast some marshmallows! I hope we can come back again and stay a bit longer next time!

Enjoy our cozy cabin with hiking, fishing, and relaxing in rural North Carolina. The Appalachian Trail just 2 miles away. Elk River Falls is an easy hike. A full kitchen invites you to cook. Roast s'mores on the fire pit. Dine on the porch or enjoy the patter of rain on the roof, or snow in the winter. Play movies on the blue ray/DVD. Free electric vehicle charging. Four miles from Elk Park (pop. 800), a truly remote getaway. Privacy and intimacy guaranteed! Please, no pets.
Our 400-square-foot tiny-house cabin in the woods is close to streams, hiking (Appalachian Trail), state parks, and the majestic, 50-foot, Elk River Falls. It is nestled on a steep forest slope at an elevation of about 3000 feet (900 meters). The cabin can sleep up to 5 guests. (The love-seat folds out into a small bed. It is suitable for children or adults up to about 5’10” tall. The mattress is 33” x 72”. This is 5 inches narrower and 2 inches shorter than a standard twin.) The bunk beds are located in the hallway between the kitchen and the master bedroom. They are comfy but not a separate (second) bedroom. You’ll love our place because of the cozy cabin atmosphere, covered porch, large fire pit, and spacious open deck with a woodsy view of the river. Pisgah Getaway is great for couples, solo adventurers, families with kids, and nature lovers. There's a television monitor with a DVD/blue ray player in the bedroom, plus a huge library of DVDs. (The television doesn't receive broadcasts such as satellite or cable.) There is an additional television monitor with a DVD/blue ray player in the common area. ***WiFi limitation: To state this bluntly, but in all good humor, please don’t pig out on the WiFi. We bought the maximum data plan offered by our carrier for this remote rural area – 15 gigs per month. It is meant for your convenience, so you can stay in touch with the outside world, search for local shopping, restaurants, etc. check your email, do a bit of social networking. But if any of our guests use WiFi to watch video, this generous but limited amount of data access will quickly go up in smoke, and the guests who come after you may not have the convenience of fast WiFi. So: No videos, no YouTube, no Netflix, no Hulu, no S-k-y-p-e or FaceTime – you get the idea. If you want video entertainment, we have a lot of DVDs you can play in the great room or the bedroom, or you can bring your own. See House Manual in cabin for WiFi user-id and password. You will have access to all the cabin space, large outside fire pit area, lighted parking area with free, level-2 charging for an electric car, and the entire cabin property down to the river. Parking area is 17 feet (5 meters) wide x 42 feet (13 meters) long. Check the fridge or counter top for a complimentary bottle of wine. The cabin property borders Pisgah National Forest. You can hike in the woods at your own risk. There is much wildlife in the area: We've seen lots of turkey and deer, and the occasional bear and beaver. So far we've identified 47 species of Spring wildflowers on our 1.3-acre property! Enjoy!
This is a great place for a quiet and intimate getaway. Enjoy the Elk River from our front yard. You can hear rushing waterfalls from the front porch. Walk 15 feet from the porch steps and you are in the Pisgah Game Lands (part of Pisgah National Forest). You're just a mile from a spur trail leading to the Appalachian Trail. Two popular ski resorts, Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain, are just 15 miles away. In the Spring and Summer months, there may be extra traffic on Elk River Road from the locals who love visiting the spectacular Elk River Falls. Just be mindful of the possibility of extra traffic. Winter skiing in nearby Beach Mountain and Sugar Mountain. Attractions: Grandfather Mountain State Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Roan Mountain State Park. The short trail to 50-foot Elk River Falls is across the river and just down Elk River Road. Check out the House Manual in the cabin to learn more about these and other attractions. The nearest grocery shopping is J's Market on Hwy. 19E, just north of the turnoff to Elk River Road, about 4 miles from the cabin. Ingles is about about 10 miles away in Newland. You can enjoy breakfast at Sissy's Ole Country House Family Cafe on Hwy. 19E in Elk Park, at Times Square Restaurant in Elk Park, or at Kaye's Kitchen in nearby Newland. We love Brinkley Hardware ("est. 1903"), which is like a time machine just 4 miles up the road in Elk Park across from the Dollar General Store. Our guest guidebook will guide you to other nearby attractions, such as a winery, a cheese farm, restaurants and the famous Mast General Store.
  • What a fabulous experience at Pisgah Getaway cabin! We hope to return anytime we can get back to the area. We appreciated how much thought went into all the details, supplies, furnishings, the instructions, and house manual, etc. Spotless. **This place is ideal as a getaway with lovely views and walking distance to the beautiful Elk River Falls; This is a supreme find for any AT section or slackpackers - less than two miles to the AT! Plus super convenient to many of the other trails and AT trailheads in the Roan Mtn area, Carvers Gap, 19E, etc. Perfect choice for day hikers who want some comfort and TLC at night instead of backpacking :D This was one of the best AirBNB experiences we have had. Jim recommended some great local spots too: definitely eat breakfast once at Kayes - fabulous recommendation. The Newland Library is a great place for heavy internet catchup and video uploads of your adventures - open until 8pm!

  • What a perfect Airbnb this was! The location was great, the area was beautiful and the cabin had the perfect little touches. The cabin is kind of tucked away but very easy to find with the directions they give you. We stopped at the closest grocery store which was about 15 minutes away and just stocked up on food for the whole time we were there. They provide you with coffee, a full kitchen that we used every day, a discount card for restaurants nearby, an adorable fire pit, that we used twice, and there are a lot of movies to keep you occupied as well. It’s about 25 minutes to sugar mountain, 35 to grandfather mountain and there’s a beautiful little hike to a waterfall, 3 minutes down the road. As if all of this wasn’t amazing enough, Jim was an excellent host and wrote back instantly when we were having a small car issue. We had a wonderful experience and would love to come back one day.

    Morgan2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for the price! Was perfect for just the two of us and was extremely close to Elk River Falls (less than a 3 minute drive).

    Meghan2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Pisgah Getaway was a dream come true. Jim and Walter have done a fabulous job with all the thoughtfulness put into this little cabin in the woods. Service is very limited once you get deep into the mountains so definitely map out where you are going before you loose service. The house has basically everything you could think of. All kitchen amenities, bathroom essentials, first aid kits, outdoor essentials for cooking on the fire pit. The views on the drive down to the cabin are incredible. After checking in we ventured to Elk River Falls. Such a beautiful little hike and so close to the cabin. We spent time on Roan Mountain which is 5 miles west on 19 into Tennessee. We also spent time east at Grandfather Mountain. Incredible views and very rugged terrain. Definitely take a drive in any direction onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. You won’t be disappointed with all the epic outlooks. Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Grandfather etc, are all 30-40 minutes from the cabin. We visited Sugar Mountain for the ski/tube vibe. Make sure you call before making plans because they can shut down due to weather conditions. Overall we had a blast. We will definitely book again and I can’t wait! The mountains are calling!

    Shari2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

Tucked into the edge of Pisgah National Forest, our hostel in the foothills of Yellow Mountain overlooks Toe River. It is centrally located to many activities such as hiking or skiing, craft beers, rafting, fishing (the Toe River is stocked), wineries or village shopping. With no neighboring yards it is quiet except for the river and the occasional cars on the road. We offer many opportunities to disconnect and relax.
Constructed in 1938, and freshly renovated and updated. It was originally the home of the longest sitting principal of Cranberry High School which is now registered as a historic structure. The river is less than thirty steps away, and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit is also available. The house sits at the bottom of elevation with access to the backcountry. Our focus is on the needs of our outdoors community whatever the chosen sport or skill level. We operate primarily as a hostel with shuttles and guide services.
We are minutes away from Linville Gorge, often called "The Grand Canyon of the East," and Grandfather Mountain Biosphere reserve. Nearby towns offer many unique experiences.

Banner Elk is just over a mile up the road and has several restaurants, 2 grocery stores, convenience stores, local shopping and is the home to Lees McRae College. There are also seasonal activities close by like whitewater rafting, lots of hiking trails, trout fishing and zip lining. For Winter sports enthusiasts, Memory's Guest House is equidistant to two of the best ski resorts in the Southeast - Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. (As a matter of fact, this vacation home is nestled in the valley below Beech Mountain.) In the opposite direction lies the cute little town of Elk Park, NC - home to Elk River Falls and some neat little antique shoppes. Just a bit farther down the road is the breathtakingly beautiful Roan Mountain State Park in Tennessee. AND....we're just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from several other iconic Blue Ridge Mountain towns like Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis and the big "metropolis" of Boone, NC (Home to Appalachian State University). Oh ! And you have to take a drive on the acclaimed Blue Ridge Parkway. Yes! Memory's Guest House is a great place to base your High Country excursions from. (Especially since it's so easy to find....Just a mile and a half or so from Banner Elks' only traffic light on Hwy 194. No "trailhopping" on back mountain roads required). This mountain family home has a master bedroom (queen bed) with it's own bathroom (shower only), a second bedroom (full bed) and a kids room (Full and twin bunkbeds) that share a full bathroom (shower/tub combo) which is located in the hallway. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area just waiting to accommodate those sit-down family dinners that you never have time for at home. And the living room has a craft/game/jigsaw puzzle space to help relax those travel weary muscles. There are two covered porches that tempt you to enjoy outdoor meals (no rain worries here). And there is a "smores" area off of the back porch. There is convenient parking for two regular sized vehicles with easy ground-level access. (There are three small steps into the home.) You enter the home through a utility room that allows for (non-motorized) sporting item storage. In the "Garden Season", we've prepared a small vegetable garden for you to glean from and there are apples and grapes to pick when they're ripe as well. We've done all that we can to prepare a sweet and "memory"-able place for you and your loved ones to enjoy and relax in. We hope to see you soon!

  • This place is awesome!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • David's entire operation at the Station 19e is absolutely phenomenal. He was quick to respond and offers everything you could want as a hiker. The hostel was clean and comfy cozy, the bar/restaurant has an amazing selection of craft beer and great food, live music (at least when I was there on a Friday), and a shuttle service to trailheads which is so clutch for doing any point to point/section hikes. I cannot say enough about how wonderful of a place and stay this was. I highly recommend it to anyone!

    Kayce2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • All of the through-hiker-hostel vibes your little heart could wish for—and a tap list from all over the Southeast downstairs. Truly an idyllic respite from the winter outside.

  • We had a large group come through here and it was awesome! David went so far as to book a band for us that turned out to be incredible. Such an awesome place with an even better atmosphere.

    Crista2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. There is a pub downstairs with a good selection of craft beers. Dave is a great host, very friendly guy and recommends good beer. Met some really nice people out there and will definitely be back.

    Jaison2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place is located on the state line of Tennessee and North Carolina. It’s easy to find and easy to feel welcome there. It’s the perfect place for the outdoorsmen to spend the night or a few days. The Hostel has all the amenities of a house with a large family. Livingroom, M&W Restrooms, Kitchen, Semi-private rooms and washer & dryer. It’s a rustic, campish environment, so don’t expect it to be a Holiday Inn. But the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable, the silverware was washed and coffee was great in the morning! I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

A Hiker's Dream. Craft Beer Pub downstairs and 27 bed hostel upstairs. Don't worry you cannot hear the noise upstairs. Lot's to do in the area and always interesting people to meet off the Appalachian Trail.
  • David is a great host and the hostel was well stocked, clean, and full of fun people.

  • I will highly recommend this hostel. The owner is very nice. There is a bar under the bedroom and the people there are very friendly. You can play pool in the bar and have beers. It's really a good experience living there.

  • What a difference a day makes: last time I was here it was the height of hiking season and I arrived unprepared and tired. I’m old and I had to stay on a top bunk: my bad that I didn’t realize what was entailed. THIS time it was AWESOMe! The vibe is great, the ppl are great and the host is beyond great ... because of his suggestion to go up to the gap, I had a surprise treat for the day. It really is run well and has all the amenities one can desire for a hiking hostel. I highly recommend it:) I will always stay here and tell my best friends to as well 5 Stars!

  • Very close to Sugar mountain(20min drive) and the price is very friendly near the area. The people there are all very nice, we had a good stay there. One advice is asking the host address before you start drive just to make sure you have the right route!

  • We would highly recommend this cottage. It is lovely. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Perfectly clean. Comfy beds. Nice linens. Great porch. The area itself is stunning. Nice dinnerware and cookware. Just bring a large frying pan and a spatula if you plan on cooking. The only thing lacking. Everything else is absolutely perfect.

  • Eagles Nest is amazing. We loved our stay! Watched the most beautiful sunset we’d ever seen by the amphitheater, played put put golf at Great Camp, went for hikes, sat by the river. So peaceful.

  • Great!

    Gisele2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place was PERFECT. Spotless and cozy. Donna and John were very responsive to my many questions and requests (including a last second request to stay for an extra night because I had a serious brain fart and thought checkout was the next day!!). Eagles Nest is an amazing place with lots to do in property. The house itself was well stocked and maintained. We LOVED it and hated to leave...

Come unwind in the lush green mountains of Tennessee. We have 120 acres ready for you to explore, plus there are 31 miles of horse riding trails within two miles. Horses welcome or guided tours on our horses! Recently renovated, the Brinkley House is an ongoing labor of love. Our simply furnished rooms lend themselves to those seeking a retreat from the busyness of daily living. Built in 1891,
  • Perfect location and rustic charm. David is one-of-a-kind and a great host. Very easy to communicate with and readily available if needed. Having the horses right outside the window was a bonus. The rockers on the porch are amazing and make you want to stay in them. The Brinkley House is unique and a beautiful home.

    Karen2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a weekend to snowboard at Beech Mountain and horseback ride at the property. David was so nice and accommodating. We went horseback riding with him and got to take a long trail ride and tour the entire property. The house is very charming and rustic...it was like going back in time. It was so nice waking up to the horses outside our door...our dogs loved them! We are for sure going to stay here again!

    Julia2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

  • If you like old farmhouses with tons of rustic charm. This is your place!

    Sherry2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The moment I walked into this old farmhouse the smell was wonderful, that smell of an old house just like my grandmother's. David is a great communicator. He met us at the house which was nice since it was after dark. I love the area of Roan Mountain and my stay at Brinkley House was perfect. My husband and I enjoyed the peacefulness and we got a lot of rest.

    Cynthia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Brinkley house is such a unique piece in the small town of Roan Mountain. David was so a great host!! Highly recommend this air bnb.

  • Would highly recommend to anyone and would definitely book again!

    Gavin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice family trip with our two dogs. The house is certainly an interesting piece of history. The beds were very comfortable, great views from the property and the horses were a huge bonus! David was a great host, very considerate and responds quickly. We got the chance to meet him before we left and had a great time talking about the house, horses and the area. The only regret we have is not scheduling a longer trip so that we could enjoy the property on horseback. We will be back.

  • Was just passing through for the night with my dog and this is hands down the best hostel I’ve found in the US. Great place, but even better people. No frills in the best of ways but tons of great little details in the sleeping quarters and common areas— shampoo, lotion, night lights, etc. Clean, easy to find (Apple maps), and very safe and accommodating atmosphere. The real gem is the pub downstairs, the best array of beers you’ll find around, get the French dip sandwich — it’s delish, live music, cheery locals, and a wonderfully intriguing, fun, and gracious staff and owner team. 15/10 would stay again.

  • Cabin Daughter Bear is an ideal spot for a weekend or more in the NC High Country. Frank makes it easy and is a great host!

    Drew2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Daughter Bear Cabin was wonderful! It was close to Beech Mountain where we enjoyed skiing after a good amount of fresh snow. The view is beautiful and the house is very clean and accommodating. I can’t say enough about Frank’s hospitality, he was extremely helpful and when we had issues in the snow/ice with our 2WD vehicle he was quick to help us find assistance. Our 4WD vehicle had no issues, definitely recommend having 4WD if there is a chance of snow/ice for your visit. We will definitely visit again!

    Taylor2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! The house was beautiful with so many extras that it made it “home” for a few days. Everything was as expected from the description and pictures online, but there were some extra touches that made it wonderful, especially for the boys. The games, foosball table, and a basketball shooting game gave them so much to do while we were resting that they hardly took time to actually rest and loved every minute of it. It was so easy to enjoy every minute of our time, especially with the beautiful views. Would stay again no doubt.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We found the house very clean, comfortable, and has a perfect layout for a couple with children. The view was gorgeous with all the sliding glass doors and there was even a great fireworks display on the 4th right across the golf course from the house! We enjoyed wine on the deck every evening. Our grandchildren (ages 6 and 8) loved the loft bedroom upstairs as exploring outside. It was private and in quiet and lovely neighborhood, and tons of charm. A number of local restaurants were great and a grocery store was a short drive away. We would gladly stay here again, such a charming getaway home!

Private loft with one queen bed and one twin. There are two accordion doors. If you do not know what a hostel is please Google it first.
The space is a traditional bunk style hostel. This bunk has a privacy curtain. There are a few private spaces, but mostly an open bunk space with a downstairs and upstairs loft area. Laundry, linens, showers and use of a kitchen area are all included.
  • We often begin the public review with comments on whether we'd stay again, or recommend. In the case of David's place, we're gonna hit first on the factor that qualifies as the highlight of our stay and that is the "bar", "eatery", and karaoke night hosted by David's establishment. Loads of fun, great vibe; friendly fun! Can't wait to do it again!!! With regard to the accommodations the answer is yes, we'd recommend David's place for people who are prepared for a kinda no-frills hostel experience. With it's long trek to the bathroom, incredibly simple breakfast fare, and somewhat stuffy (stagnant) atmosphere the "hostel" offers an innumerable amount of beds, all coming at-cha the second you enter through the door (it feels like a dormitory exploded with wall to wall, mismatched linen draped beds). We were offered a private room, that contained just one large bed and its linen, a bright eastern exposure window, and our own air conditioner, which we found incredibly comfortable, though, at nearly thrice the price of the easy to find, single bed options, we were a bit taken aback, though far too weary and tired to fuss. Hope this helps. We'll be back Many of those in attendance at the karaoke night were regulars who gave the evening a special charm and appeal.

  • This place is great. It’s a hostel so a bit different than Airbnb. I was apprehensive the first night but the stay was so great we didn’t want to leave!

  • This is a great place to spend a night off the road or off the trail. Great beer selection downstairs. Great host.

  • what an experience! we stayed one night before hiking the next day. great beer selection, live music, and everyone was so kind.

  • My husband and I had such a blast at this hostel! Everyone was so kind and made us feel right at home. We didn’t want to leave! The live music was amazing, the craft beer was incredible, but I’d have to say the company was the best part! David and Wild Wolf were awesome. Thanks for making us feel like a part of the family! We will be back. ☺️

  • I’d heard great things by word of mouth about this hostel. So when my son and his friend needed a place to stay after a day of skiing, I knew just the place. In setting up the reservation, David, the owner, was incredibly helpful and kind. He was flexible, informative, and really quick to respond. The place was “super clean and fun”. David was hospitable, friendly, and personable. Great place!

    Kate2019-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • it was a wonderful place to stay. As time didn't permit I couldn't stay at David's place. David gave me an opportunity to visit his home and Aquaponics farm. Mr. and Mrs. David are wonderful people who welcomed me to their home and farm and demonstrated me the Aquaponics process. Thanks David for the wonderful experience.

  • We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely come back! It’s a beautiful home with very stylish furnishings, yet is also extremely cozy. Exceptionally clean, seems very new. Sleeping areas are beautiful with upscale linens, I could have stayed in bed all day. We appreciated the Keurig and provided coffee when we did decide to rise. :) Sleeping areas have very little separation between them (a small laundry room) if privacy is a factor. Beautiful outdoor space at the home and around the property, just steps away from the Elk River. Having access to Eagle’s Nest amenities was wonderful. The home is a very short, easy drive to Banner Elk and Beech Mountain. Also not far from Boone and Blowing Rock, as well as Grandfather and Sugar Mountains. Directions were clear and easy to follow, thank you! Home sits close to the road, so no steep driveway, etc.

  • Perfect view. The cabin was beatiful and the host gave me great attention throughout my stay. The only bad thing was that the toilet in the main room was clogged and we could only use it once but other than that It was perfect. Next time I come to NC I will definitely stay here again.

Any time we had a question Mindy was readily available to make sure we were all taken care of! We will definitely be back.

  • This home was beautiful and private. The house was more than we expected and we couldn’t be happier. Mindy is probably the easiest host I’ve ever been in contact with. She’s been great since day one. The color changing of the trees on the mountains was simply breathtaking! Local recommendations Mindy provided were great as well. If you visit be sure to visit Grandfather Mountain. This was the perfect getaway for us!

    Crystal2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • “Mountain Bliss” is the perfect description of this home. Situated in the midst of a Christmas tree farm it was quiet and private. The home was 10-15 minutes away from a grocery store. Nearby Banner Elk and Boone about 30 minutes away. Blowing Rock less than an hour away. Only a few miles to access the Blue Ridge Parkway near Linville. Home was clean and well appointed. Kitchen had appliances, utensils, baking dishes in good repair. Bathrooms had towels aplenty. Beds were comfortable with quality linens. Both front and back decks had rocking chairs to view sunrise and sunsets. Jacuzzi clean and appreciated after a long day . Mindy allowed us to stay an additional night because we truly did not want to leave. Will definitely book another stay in the future.

  • This Cabin is all you need for a perfect ski weekend trip! Very tastefully decorated and only 15 min to Sugar mtn. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fire pit outside and the wonderful sound of the running stream right on the property. The fireplace was wonderful at night as was the nice quiet neighborhood. The only thing that can be a drawback for some is that you can hear right between the floors of the bedrooms. It wasn’t a problem for us though. Truly a very nice stylish cabin with everything you need and fairly close.

  • Great place to get away and/or go skiing. Sugar Mountain is only 12 minutes away. It is a cozy and very nice cabin, hidden away in the mountains. The owners are great to work with and respond right away if need it. We’ll be coming back for another pleasant stay.

  • Great cabin with thoughtful touches.

    Melissa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was a Christmas ski trip for my sons and they were just as impressed with the cabin as my husband and I. Sugar Mountain was easily accessible-only 12 minutes away. Great cabin to escape to after a day of skiing. We are already planning our next trip to Sugar Mountain and plan to stay here again.

Our staff is currently working remotely, and you may still reach us by phone or email. We hope to be able to welcome everyone back to the High Country again soon! We know finding a spot to charge your vehicle can be challenging while here, but for those staying in Eagles Landing, there is now a charging station in the garage. Just throw your bags in your Tesla and head to the mountains! Welcome to Eagles Landing, a custom-designed Banner Elk vacation rental perfect for families or adult groups looking for something special. For those who think there is no such thing as affordable luxury rentals in the High Country, all we can say is you have yet to experience this new vacation home in The Lodges at Eagles Nest! Designed by the homeowner especially for those seeking something extra for their next getaway, this home does not disappoint, inside or out. Once you pass through the towering cedar gates into Eagles Nest, you sense immediately you have arrived somewhere very special. The attention to detail throughout this luxurious private gated community is obvious wherever you look, from the hand-stacked stone walls to the paved road meandering past boulders and overlooking amazing vistas. Just after passing the popular Great Camp area, you will arrive at Eagles Landing – nestled in the trees yet still offering wonderful views from the decks. No detail has been overlooked in this Eagles Nest luxury rental. From the 30 foot stone fireplace and wall of windows looking out to the view, to the custom made furniture and fixtures, to the location – when you find Eagles Landing, you have found it all. The living area, once you look away from the view, offers a custom sofa that is the epitome of mountain style, natural stone fireplace, rhododendron railings, and access to the deck that will summon you again and again to take in this little bit of paradise. The well-planned kitchen will have everyone wanting to serve as chef, with large farmhouse-style copper sink, gas range with hammered-copper hood, simply beautiful granite counters, custom cabinets and all you could desire to prepare meals. When everything is ready, the large dining table with custom seating awaits, providing room for all – with a view! After dinner, enjoy your evening cocktail or coffee on one of the two decks, where you can take in the mountain vistas, passing wildlife, or take the kids out with you and just try to count all the stars! For another option, head down to the large family room and enjoy your choice of entertainment – a custom log pool table, foosball, large screen television and more await. Some may sit and catch up on the comfy furniture while others find their game of choice – show the kids your teenage favorite on the 60-game video arcade, let them show you their favorites on the PS4, or slip out onto the deck for a soak in the hot tub. Dart tournament? No problem – and the scorekeeper can even sit at the custom Eagles Landing whiskey barrel pub table. Outdoor options await as well – the fire pit is the perfect spot for roasting s'mores while reliving family or college memories. The Great Camp area is also just a short walk away, with a ropes course popular with the kids, and access to some of the many trails within Eagles Nest. After all this fun, when it is time to turn in the bedrooms will not disappoint. With three masters and an amazing bunkroom for the kids, who wouldn't be ready to hit the hay?! The first master is on the main level, with king bed, views, deck access, and an amazing master bath. Some may prefer the tiled walk-in shower, but be sure to allow yourself time to enjoy a soak in the hammered copper tub, big enough for two! Upstairs you will find two additional master bedrooms, each with king bed and private bath. And downstairs, the kids will be racing to claim their bunk. With a double set of custom log bunk beds, there is room for four, or take advantage of the twin trundle for the younger kids who may not care to try out a bunk quite yet. Even with all there is to do in Eagles Landing as well as within the Eagles Nest community, you may eventually decide to venture out and see the rest of our area. The location is ideal, with Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain so close (mountaintop yoga and bike trails in summer, scenic lift rides in summer and autumn, and amazing winter recreation including skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and tubing); experience the shops, dining and events in the bucolic downtown areas of Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, Boone and Blowing Rock; or just take a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our area is abundant in natural beauty and recreation any time of year, so there are multiple options for golf, fly fishing, hiking, antiquing and more. Need some suggestions or help narrowing down the choices? Just give our office a call and our staff will be happy to help! Within the Eagles Nest luxury private gated community, guests may enjoy outdoor adventure and entertainment throughout the year. • Highly recommended. Both, the house and the neighborhood are beautiful. The house is extremely well prepared for family trips. All rooms are fully equiped with premium furniture and appliances. A 4x4 SUV is a must in winter season. Banner Elk Town and recreational activites are 4-8 miles away from the house

  • We loved our stay in Banner Elk. Some of our favorite features were the hot tub, the gas logs, and the cleanliness of the property. We also loved the fact that the cabin was 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. If you are searching for the perfect getaway spot, look no further!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at 37 Cabin Ridge in Banner Elk. The home was clean and comfortable, with modern conveniences while maintaining a nice rustic "cabin" feel . It worked out really well for us. ConciAir's was responsive when needed. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • Nice place! Spacious with everything you’d need. Hot Tub water was overdue to be changed and the thermostat would automatically set temperature we’re the only issues we had. I would stay again though.

  • This is a must stay cabin! Everything was PERFECT!! From the warm welcoming living room, to the cozy jacuzzi with a great view, not to mention the incredible close to town location. My family enjoyed this cabin so much we actually cancelled dinner plans to eat hotdogs and s’mores over the fire pit. The host was very accommodating, we had a number of basic questions and the host reached out to us immediately and was more than happy to answer our questions. We will definitely be back!

    Sam2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing! It is exactly what the pictures show and the description. It is in a great location and has many great mountains, vineyards, breweries and restaurants nearby. The grill, hot tub and bonfire pit are additional things the house offers which really made our trip! The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone
