  • Thanks to Juergen and his wonderful cabin, I had a really relaxing stay. The personal touches and the space are very welcoming. If you're unfamiliar with the climate here, it can rain or become windy unexpectedly even in warm winters - so do yourself a favor and play it safe. And yes, as other reviews and the host has encouraged, you're much safer by taking a 4wd car, which I did and am glad I did. The roads to this cabin, and actually the Shenandoah/Luray area in general if you're exploring the area, wind around with uphills/downhills and gravel paths. The cabin's location is a great experience - you have wonderful views in the day, even when it's not sunny there's a cool fog rolling over the mountain. At night, lots of stars. It was the highlight having breakfast and coffee on the porch as well. Space was clean, and not too hot or cold during my winter stay. There's everything you need in the cabin as well. Not much cell service but great wifi, so that's no problem. Beds are clean and comfy, the sunroom is also a great highlight of the cabin. Juergen is also very responsive and informative. You can feel peaceful solitude without being too far from civilization. I would definitely recommend staying here if that's what you're looking for.

  • A quiet little place for everyone, scenic views and a nice uphill drive, winery right next to the main street and Massanutten isn’t to far away for some winter fun.

  • It was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed ourselves very much!

  • Juergen is an incredible host, he provided a wonderful getaway for my girlfriend & I. We had an amazing time in this beautiful space, he’s so hospitable and attentive. All the little touches to the home were fantastic. Getting out there was a fun time in itself, make sure you have 4WD or AWD because you have to go down a couple miles of unpaved, dirt roads that can be extremely steep at times but it was such a great time traversing the terrain.

What Past Guests Are Saying: "First of all, no way was I expecting the chalet to have everything you needed. I was going to put it to the test. You PASSED. Everything you can imagine you would need, is there. Second, I was skeptical about having privacy or peace and quiet. It was so quiet a pin drop would be too loud. Absolutely private and quiet, we felt very safe. Third, My Husband said jesh, this is cleaner than most hotels we've stayed at. Overall we gave it "11" we will be back." -Gary and Sue V. "Lynn, Well we just got back and the first thing I had to do was e-mail you and let you know what a terrific time we had. I contacted you in hopes of finding somewhere we could get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and we got just that. Your Chalet is absolutely amazing, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. From the moment we arrived to the saddened departure it was absolutely the best time we have had in a very long time. Your directions were exact and everything worked out exactly as planned. There was nothing better than sitting on the front deck with a glass of wine listening to nothing for a change, it was The touches of home did nothing but add to that feeling and it was amazing. Thank you from both of us for allowing us to stay at your wonderful get away, I can absolutely assure you that we will be contacting you again soon many times. Finally again thank you very much we had an amazing weekend, if you EVER consider selling your property PLEASE let me know, seriously there is not a place in the world that can fulfill exactly what we were looking for like yours did." -Nick A. "What a wonderful place! I have now stayed here twice and can't wait to go back. The chalet is in a perfect location nestled in the hills and not far from great hiking, restaurants and adventure. Whether a long weekend or a week, well worth it!" -Guest Review from erik "I just wanted to leave you an email that I forgot to send a long time ago. My girlfriend and I went up there the weekend of July 21st just to get away for the weekend. What she didnt know is that after having a wonderful day horseback riding and enjoying downtown Luray I was going to propose to her. So at sunset after a wonderful dinner I proposed to her on your deck of the chalet. We had a wonderful time, loved the location, loved the chalet and would definitely go back. Thank you again!" -Jeff B. "Just right!!! We have rented many cabins in many different areas. This cabin was just right. It felt very much like home. Some cabins are too rustic, or have to many unnecessary luxuries. This cabin, met in the middle, I did not pay extra for things I did not need, and yet was very comfortable." -Len and Ri from Longwood FL "Wonderful cabin, great price! Everything you need in this nice little cabin get-away. Surrounded by woods and wildlife. Great quite place to get away, enjoy nature, see deer, and take pictures. They had everything you could think of from dishes & coffee to DVD movies. Highly recomended. Great price. Only minutes from Skyline Drive and many caverns." -Guest Review from JGdesigner "My fiance and I spent Halloween weekend in your cabin. It was beautiful! I was impressed with how stocked the place is. it was just like being at home! We visited Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive while in the area, and the cabin was convenient to both. We just wanted to thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We hope to return soon!" -Tanika M. "Nice getaway. This chalet was exactly as described. The location was beautiful and the house was clean and very affordable. Thanks for the hiking suggestions as it was too warm for skiing. Lots to do in nearby Luray too." -Guest Review from kreay "Perfect and affordable Place to Get-A-Way from the Hussle and Bussle. We have stayed at the Chalet twice and just love it. The price is right and the house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We have used it as a get-a-way in the winter to leave the hectic pace of DC and love that there's no cable, internet, or cell phone coverage... we bring dvd's, lots of food and drink, hike during the day and cook and relax at night. This past trip, we hit a couple of close wineries, which was just a perfect touch. Highly Recommend!" -Guest Review from dmiller "Wonderful vacation in the historic Shenandoah. Being a Virginian any chance to travel the Shenandoah Valley is a pleasure. Rarely, due to work schedules, have my wife an I been able to stay for more than a day or two. This time I had seven whole days. I believe this was the first site that I visited yet it seemed to have all that I was looking for to relax and explore in detail parts of the Valley. Where else but among the folks of the valley could you arrive and check in with such ease. The setting is as beautiful as described with a wonderful view of the mountains saying good night at sunset and to awaken us at sunrise. The chalet was a delight with every thing we would need. Even phone service was provided since cell service is spotty at best. Being from the Washington area the last thing we needed was blaring media news. We came to the Shenandoah to get away from that. We used the chalet as a base camp to explore from Waynesboro to Winchester. Seven days of perfect weather did not hamper things while hiking the Skyline but even a steady rain would have been fun here. This is a great place inhabited by wonderful people. We will be back. We really did not want to leave today. Regards, Wilson F. Gaithersburg, MD." -Guest Review from urspider68 "Thank you very much for your help with the cabin last weekend. We had a very nice time, the skiing was great, and the beds were very comfortable (after skiing, that is important!). So thank you very much and have a great weekend!" -Nathanael "Wonderful winter getaway. Myself and a couple of girlfriends spent a weekend at the chalet. What I liked about it was that they had comfortable furnishings and yet felt like it belonged in the woods. It was quiet and peaceful. When looking for a place what stood out about the chalet was that we would be able to walk to a hiking trail within Shenandoah - and we did that while we were there. I would definitely go back again and would recommend it." -K. A. from Globe Trekker "I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know we had a pleasant stay at your cabin. The place was very clean and you thought of everything we need in the kitchen and bathroom. It was nice and relaxing to come back to such a nice place after our ski trip. This was a memorable Christmas for our family. We would definitely like to go back in the future." -Yunhui & Family "We had a most pleasant time at your Shenandoah chalet the past week. The accommodations/facilities were superb. We had a peaceful and quiet vacation and the weekday cost to rent was very fair. We also visited Massanutten Ski area for some snowtubing, Hiking to Rapidan Hoover Camp in Shenandoah National Park, The Mt. Powell hiking trails near your chalet, and on the way back home, we visited Montpelier - home of James Madison. Thank you for the opportunity to rent your most wonderful vacation home! We plan to rent your chalet again in the future. We look forward til the next time." -Pio G. "Lovely, quiet refuge from the craziness of urban life! This chalet is quiet, comfortable, and outfitted with everything we needed for a lovely long summer weekend. We had two teenaged boys with us, and they loved sharing the loft upstairs, away from us adults in the bedroom on the first floor. The chalet was outfitted with all the cookware we needed to prepare several different kinds of meals. The bathroom is roomy, clean, and came with plenty of towels for all of us. We enjoyed the quiet of sitting on the decks, sipping our morning coffees or just reading in peace and stillness. Overall, a delightful rental property, and we would request it again in a heartbeat." -Cynde from Oak Hill, VA "I wanted to send you a note and thank you for a wonderful stay at your cabin. We really enjoyed our vacation. You have a lovely cabin! I even saw some hummingbirds at your flowers outside and found a four leaf clover in the front yard. I miss it already! It is so peaceful there. ... Hope to stay again." -Jennifer B. "Just wanted to let you know we had a great time at your chalet. It was the most relaxing vacation we have every had. You had the place stocked with everything needed. It was just like being at home. I had brought things from home and you already had them there. The view of the mountains was spectacular. We will definitely be renting it again." -Wanda and John B. "Just a quick note to say that we had another awesome experience at the Chalet. The ability to unplug from cell phones, emails, and the constant news cycle so prevalent in DC just multiplies the relaxation factor... we are vowing not to let 3 years pass again before returning and maybe stay when the weather is a little warmer, even though the 6-8 inches of snow on Thursday was so beautiful and the perfect addition to the fire in the fireplace and the Christmas carols on the Ipod! (Not to mention the glass of wine in hand!) And I can't remember the last time that I started and finished a booked in 3-4 days! Our best to you and Steve for a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year!" -David M. "Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our stay in the chalet. Everything was perfect and sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and the wind in the trees, was heaven. And I have to say that we've never rented a condo or cabin as well equipped as yours - just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for sharing." -Ann D. "We had a wonderful time in your cabin. It was so attractively and comfortably furnished. We loved watching the sun set behind the mountain from the deck and watching the resident rabbit nibbling on the grass in the back." -Alice S. "We absolutely LOVED our stay. What a lovely cabin! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and pampered. Having pancakes with fresh maple syrup and delicious coffee while looking out at the beautiful mountains will be one of my favorite memories. We will definitely be recommending your beautiful cabin to our families and friends. Thanks you so much for everything!" -Christine C. "Our stay at the chalet was lovely, thank you. It was comfortable, extremely well appointed, and the little touches of hospitality (pancake mix and firewood) were much appreciated. I would definitely recommend the chalet to others." -J.M. "We had the most wonderful time in the cabin over the weekend. My mother and I absolutely loved it-- both the breathtaking views and the very comfortable interior. We hope to come back!" -Natalia B. "The cottage was great. We had a wonderful time.... We are both mountain folks by heart just not location, so it was nice to get away for a while." -Julie S. "Just got home and wanted to send you an email letting you know that Monica and I had wonderful weekend at your Chalet. It was so relaxing, and we fell in love with your place. We most certainly will be visiting again. It was fantastic!!!!" -John and Monica "I just wanted to thank you for the days that we spent at your chalet. We had a very good time and it was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was perfect! Hopefully we'll be back soon." -Hernan "Everything was superb - the linens, bed, nice couch, wonderful magazines, nice landscaping, grill, views. we spent a lot of time out on the deck, reading and just enjoying the remote-ness and beauty. thanks again." -Lalong "Just a thank you for allowing us the privilege of enjoying the hospitality of your chalet. The pancake mix was a great addition to our mornings on the panoramic deck. It was a wonderful weekend for us both and are planning a return trip sometime later. Take care and thanks again for a most enjoyable stay in the mountains." -Melissa and Daniel "Your Chalet was absolutely fabulous. My wife and I could not have asked for a more cozy place for our anniversary. The bay window sealed the deal, its going to be hard for me to top this next year. Thank you again." -Aaron W. "Just wanted to drop a quick note to say we had a fabulous time and your chalet is beautiful! thanks a bunch!" -Jamie "My uncle, Harry Robinson, rented your cabin this past weekend for my sister, her husband, my husband and me. We are from NC and since he was married Sunday, he wanted us to be close by. (His house is also on Overlook Mountain Road) We really enjoyed our stay in your chalet. My husband and I stayed in the loft and loved the openness of it and enjoyed the deck. Once we arrived Friday night, we didn't leave Overlook Mountain Road until Sunday morning!" -Lori "I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at your cabin. My wife and I were both due for a much needed getaway from our jobs and your cabin made a nice home base for sightseeing around the area and the park." -Jim Z. "Truly wonderful experience, especially for our honeymoon! Our stay was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better cabin or a better location. It was great to get away and not have to worry about a thing." -Heather from Cumberland, MD "Lil Chalet in the woods. Very comfy, was heated and warm when we arrived at 2am. Keys were exactly where we were told we would find them. Very nice for 2 couples wanting to get away from it all. Kitchen was excellent for cooking, very comfy bedding." -Sandy from Levittown PA "My fiance and I were here for a week and loved it. Price is very good, clean, open space." -Ramish from Chicago "Romantic and Relaxing. The Shenandoah Chalet is a place we'd like to retire to... cozy, comfortable, and clean. I forgot peaceful - really peaceful. We enjoyed our entire experiences, our pancake breakfasts, our hikes, our all-night game of scrabble. It's going back to simpler times without shopping, traffic or craziness. When can we move in?" -Jackie & family from Rockville, MD "Excellent getaway choice near Shenandoah National Park. The Shenandoah Chalet is a very good choice as a home base for exploring the Shenandoah Valley or the National Park. Many other interesting places to explore are nearby, with Charlottesville and Monticello about an hour away. The chalet is situated a few miles from the Western park border northeast of Elkton Virginia and convenient to Skyline Drive and, further South, the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although some might see it as a disadvantage, the Chalet is rather isolated, well off the beaten path several miles off Highway 340. However, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet when not out sightseeing. The Shenandoah Chalet is perfect for a quiet getaway and would easily accomodate 3-4 people. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with a great variety of cooking utensils. The loft bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and the small downstairs bedroom could accomodate another person or couple. The owners were very helpful, answering our email questions very promptly. Highly recommended!" -Boilermaker_91 from Oxford, Indiana "Romantic anniversary getaway. The cabin was incredible, The morning view when you wake up is breath taking. We enjoyed it very very much." -Happy Hearts from Richmond, VA "Pre-Baby Get away. My wife and I rented the Chalet while my was pregnant just as a getaway before my son came. The cabin is very charming and we had everything that we needed. There is an awesome view from the front of the cabin. Further, you can hear the nearby stream in the background. A very picturesque setting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as a quiet getaway in the hills." -Zee from Silver Spring, MD "The cabin was really peaceful and easy to find, spending three nights there after our wedding in the area. We explored nearby swimming holes and flea markets and had a wonderful stay." -Leia P. "Wonderful cabin. Exactly as described. Even with the huge storm that moved through we didn't lose power unlike the neighboring town. which was great. Would recommend to anyone." -Frank C. "Just as advertised. I would recommend to a friend." -David N. "What a beautiful place! Stunning house and we had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The house has everything you need and the directions make it easy to find. Lovely." -Laura F. "Great cabin and an enjoyable stay. Thanks!" -Jiasi C. "The place was very clean and cozy. It is in a really good location if you are interested in visiting Shenandoah National Park." -Lauren B. "My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time this past weekend. The cabin had everything, all we had to bring was ourselves and food. I definitely recommend anyone who is interested in getting away for the weekend to stay here." -James B. "Very clean, comfortable, and peaceful. Beautiful setting. Everything we needed was there: towels, utensils, etc. We are very light sleepers and this chalet was very quiet. • Such a perfect, quaint get away. The window in the A-Frame is the perfect view to wake up to. I never wanted to get out of bed.

  • Lovely, quiet space! Definitely would go back again.

    Carolynn2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin and a great location to get away from the city into nature. It's a short drive to the nearby town of Elkton, which has a nice coffee shop and other fun stores/restaurants. Lynn was friendly and quick to reply to questions. Overall, would recommend!

    Ryan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a charming chatlet near Shenandoah! Very clean! A great place to stay for a couple nights!

    Keenan2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, tidy , comfy bed with super soft sheets. Lots of kitchen facility for cooking. Great verandah for star gazing. The only noise we could hear was the cows mooing and the birds chirping.... and of course, at the bottom of the hill is Naked Creek flowing quietly on its way to the Shenandoah River. I highly recommend this cosy place if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle and need quiet time and peace. Real Zen head stuff. Bring what you need to to eat and drink as the shops are quite a distance away. Take a walk or drive up to the top of overlook mountain. The views are spectacular.

    Janice2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a few days with some friends at Lynn's mountain cabin to celebrate New Years 2020 and had a blast. The space is about an hour from Harrisonburg and Charlottesville with Massanutten about 20 minutes away. The cabin is secluded enough to feel out in the woods without being completely in the middle of nowhere, and has one of the best equipped kitchens we've seen in an AirBNB. The beds were comfortable and the loft has a great view out over the mountains. All in all a great value and a good time.

    Ross2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely time at Lynn's house! She was extremely attentive and responsive to our messages, and the directions she provided on how to get around were so helpful. Data and cell signal for major providers do not work in or around the cabin, so the free wifi is helpful as well. We were looking for a secluded getaway however, so it worked out for us! Also she has every pot and pan you could imagine, was able to cook a full dinner every night we stayed there!

    Shalini2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin great for a getaway. Easy access to Shenandoah and the kitchen is remarkably well-equipped. Our time at Lynn’s was wonderful.

  • Quaint older home in the small town of Elkton. Perfect location if you enjoy Massanutten without the expense of staying in the resort. Also convenient to JMU and Harrisburg. I spent the weekend with my family of 5 and it was comfy and cozy. Had all the comforts of home. Would definitely stay again.

    Andrea2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in good location near Massanutten. Would definitely come back!

    Rachel2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is right in downtown Elkton, which is a great location. It is on a busy road, but setback for privacy. You can walk to quite a few restaurants and errands which was really nice. There is a brew house opening soon and we were so bummed to miss out. 10 min drive to Massanutten! Stayed with my husband and 2 young kids. Plenty of space and felt like home.

    Molly2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, cozy, older home with the perfect amount of space for our family of 6. Check in/check out was super easy, and the host was quick to respond as needed via messages. Just a 12 minute drive to Massanutten Resort, and a much better value than actually staying at the resort. Jenny’s local coffee and food recommendations were on point! Blue Elk coffee is a must for a morning brew; and the locals in this small town could not be any sweeter! We brought our own groceries and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking family meals. Netflix was a nice touch for family movie nights and the furniture was so comfortable, it felt like home. Perfect getaway for a little family R&R. Would definitely book again in the future.

    Elizabeth2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Love, love, love this house! We stay here when visiting family in the area and it is absolutely perfect for our needs. Lots of space, wonderfully furnished kitchen, just a great place to hang out and relax. This time we brought our dog (pet friendly listing) and it worked out perfectly. Jenny, the host, is a great communicator and the whole reservation was seamless. The house is perfectly located to explore Skyline Drive or Massanutten.

    Jenni2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Large, clean, and cozy. All linens provided, kitchen had all the essentials. Very nice outdoor space as well.

  • This cabin finds the balance between nature, tranquility, and location being so close to many wonderful wineries. The cabin was incredibly clean — which we were greatly appreciative of given the global pandemic. The wood stove, porch, and babbling brook were among our favorites in this hidden gem. We look forward to returning in the future!

  • Great room, so clean and had literally everything we needed! The kitchen space is especially great; the host provided all the necessary kitchenware for us to cook a nice dinner after a long day of hiking :)

  • The Welsh Run farm is the perfect woodland getaway. Tucked off of a country rode it is deadcenter between downtown Charlottesville and Shenandoah National Park. Happily for us these were the two places we wanted to go the most! It is a basement studio which gives you the whole floor to yourself with a private entrance. There were cats, dogs and horses which we loved. We felt welcome from the moment we pulled in. It had everything needed for a short or long stay. Full Kitchen, 3/4 bath and a comfy bed. Would certainly stay here again

  • If my math is correct we spent 13 days at Welsh Run Farm. No matter what your purpose is for being in the area you would do well staying at this location. Robin is an excellent and very responsive host. You are minutes from shopping, eating and many other activities or you can just relax on the farm.

I live 4 miles from the Harrisonburg City limits, 15 minutes from JMU, 5 minutes from EMU. This is a country setting with no close neighbors. The house is solar powered. There are great views of the mountains. There is a stream below the house to hike to. Red tail hawks usually nest here from March until June. Lots of bird watching. I have a mushroom farm here, please ask for a tour. Plenty of outdoor space to run a dog. I have two rooms for rent on AirBnb and one shared bathroom.
This room has a new queen bed with new sheets. It shares a bathroom with another room that is on AirBnB . I live on the other end of the house with my own bathroom . Please ask to use the kitchen. There is a refrigerator for guest use. I have one cat that is mostly outdoor. There are great views of the mountains. Very quiet. I often see deer and hear owls at night and Red tail hawks nest here from March to June. There is another room for rent for travelers of more than two. Look at my listings to book that room. This room has it's own heater and it's own window unit AC so you can adjust the temperature to your liking.
Very quiet with a wooded area and a stream below the house. Lots of wildlife and a great view of the mountains. Lots of places to eat in town. Harrisonburg city limits are 5 minutes away . Not too far from Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns etc.

  • Doug's cute cottage was very welcoming and cozy. He was quick to respond to messages and accommodated us, even with our last minute booking. I appreciated the accurate posting description and the small touches in the cottage that made it feel homey. In addition, I am grateful for the perfect balance Doug had of being a gracious host and giving us adequate privacy. The amenities were also great: tea, coffee, water/soda, chocolate, popcorn, silverware, microwave, fridge, Netflix a wonderful heating system, you name it - Doug had it! Great spot to recharge; we felt safe staying here and will definitely book again if we're ever in the area.

  • This was my second time staying at the Little Cottage. It is so well located to the places that I was visiting in and around the area. It’s perfect for one or two people, and easily accessible from I-81, but in a very quiet neighborhood. I really appreciated the little touches like the coffee maker with extra coffee pods, teabags, creamers and sweetener packets. Doug is a wonderful host, and I hope to be able to stay there again on my next trip to the area.

  • Randy is a great host. Five stars for everything, from welcoming us to all the great amenities and small touches. Randy's home is sparkling clean and very comfortable. It's a great location a few minutes from Highway 81, very convenient for us since we was traveling through on a long drive. We could not ask for anything more. The neighbourhood is good and we felt secure leaving out vehicle parked on the street in front of Randy's house. The place is exactly or even better than advertised. We have a saying: "If one would do or ask for anything different with our stay at Randy's Green Room, we would ruin it!!!" :) Thank you Randy for the hospitality and for having us stay with you. Next time we are passing through definetly we will be staying again and we also recommend this place to everyone with out a doubt.

This quaint cottage is tucked into a mountainside offering beautiful views. The interior is warm and inviting and has everything you will need for a relaxing retreat from the rest of the world.
The entire place is yours during your stay. Recently acquired from David VanDerveer by his nephew Ken Argenbright, the cottage is still closely associated with the White Lotus Eco Spa Retreat (15 minutes away) and guests are welcome to come enjoy all of its amenities. Ken has been helping David to host and maintain the White Lotus and David will continue to co-host with Ken for Shepherds Cottage.
  • Absolutely enjoyed my stay at Ken's cottage. It's the perfect space to isolate, detach, and unplug from all the craziness of the everyday life. Super cozy once you get the fire going and the place warms up, making it a wonderful stay in the winter. But the view and the tub(!) would make it amazing through the rest of the year as well. Totally plan on visiting again in the different seasons. Also, a short (15-20 min) drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah NP and Skyline Drive, perfect location to go for a day of hiking and spot to come back to.

  • The view is phenomenal! I walked in and was greeted by music and a very cozy environment. Huge bed to sprawl out on and enjoy coffee, lovely couch closer to the window if you prefer that, the brick floors really pull it all together. Amazing aesthetic!

Loved that there were windows to wake up to a beautiful views and there was even a window in the bathroom so that you always have a view of the outside. The cabin is on a hill which makes it feel more secluded and love being in the woods. We enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again! Ken was a great host and we enjoyed all the local tips!

This cottage is on a large, 110-acre farm in Rockingham County. On the property are three ponds (sorry, no fishing), hiking trails (sorry, no ATVs), and beautiful grounds. With the cottage, guests can use and enjoy the fire pit and seating (wood provided), outdoor grill, picnic table, and lovely grounds. There is a bug zapper to keep pesky bugs away. We would be happy to meet with you when you arrive to show you around. Close to Massanutten Resort. About 20 minutes from Harrisonburg.
This is a lovely rural area, yet close to Massanutten Resort (5 minutes) and the City of Harrisonburg, VA (20 minutes). There are some great local restaurants and wineries nearby (within 5 minutes). The property is 141 acres of woods and pastures with mowed trails and ponds, which you are welcome to explore at your leisure.
  • This cabin/cottage was clean, quaint, quiet, and cleverly appointed. It is a very comfortable, cozy space on a beautiful historic property with paths, ponds, woods, and views. The hosts are responsive and friendly without being intrusive. The place to be if you are looking to unplug!

  • Cozy little cabin! Wish I could have spent more time there, but it has everything you need to feel comfy and at home!

    Nicole2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at our cottage. It was cute, clean, and roomier than expected! It slept all 4 of us comfortably. We loved the cat that hung out with us all weekend (Blue), we made fires every night, hiked the grounds, and even got to peek inside a few of the other cottages on the property after meeting the owners (who are absolutely wonderful and incredibly inviting)! This is the perfect little mountain getaway. We spent one afternoon in Harrisonburg (about 20 minutes away- home of James Madison University) and got some great homemade ice cream at Kline’s, saw a free show at the planetarium, and checked out the free Botanical gardens and aquarium. This is also very close (about 15 minutes) from the entrance of Shenandoah National Park- one of my favorite places on earth. We had the best time!

Welcome to Old Hill Cider House! Located just steps away from the first row of Summer Rambo Apple Trees at Showalter's Orchard. The thoughtful renovation was just completed in early July. The former wash house could be a base for all your Shenandoah Valley Travels or this light airy and romantic little house is a comfortable and cozy place for your farm vacation. The kitchen is small but has all the basics, one queen bed, one bath. We look forward to making your acquaintance.
The cider house is a separate outbuilding fashioned from the farm's original wash house. The cottage is light and airy with clerestory windows. Its views are exceptionally suited to take in the vistas in each direction of apple trees as far as you can see to the west and of the Shenandoah Valley to the East. Just a few steps from the doorstep you'll be standing in the oldest part of our orchard. Enjoy exploring the rows and rows of trees. If you are visiting during apple or peach harvest season, we offer pick your own apples and peaches. Your ciderhouse kitchen is ready with everything you need to prepare your meals or even better to make your apple or peach pie with fruit that you just picked. You'll find our favorite recipe for apple pie on the kitchen counter. If your visit happens to be when the bounty of the vegetable garden is ready, please help yourself. It too is right outside your door. This peaceful and private place is also perfect to relax and rejuvenate and watch your favorite Roku programming or take advantage of all its natural light to read to your heart's content. A brick patio under the canopy of enormous oak trees is available along with a fire pit and firewood to sit outside and enjoy looking at the stunning view while you sip a glass of cider. The production facility and tasting room for Old Hill Cider is on the premises. Enjoy a complimentary tasting for two while you're here.
  • This spot is so cute! The place itself is exactly as described....very cute and clean. We went in the off season, so weren't able to pick apples, but did visit the cider tasting room and loved it! The surrounding area is so pretty too.

  • This little house is so cute! It looks exactly like the pictures! We were able to feel at peace and relaxed for our stay here. We wish we could’ve seen how the orchid looks in the spring but we plan on coming back! Sarah provided us with everything we needed to cook and live comfortably. This place is a great experience with a beautiful view

What an absolutely adorable cottage Sarah has created on her beautiful orchard property. If you can’t relax there, you can’t relax anywhere! Had a great time tasting their hard ciders and surveying of the grounds, and also venturing in to the tiny little village of New Market and down to Harrisonburg. I hope to make it back to the Old Hill Cider House again!" Thanks so much for making this weekend getaway wonderful for my family! They can't wait to come back again sometime!

  • Sarah’s orchard farm is amazing! We loved our stay in the cute little guest house - it was warm and inviting yet very romantic! We did the cider tasting and Kristy was a doll. We love the people on this farm and will returning soon (but not soon enough)

    Alexis2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful time at the orchard. The space was beautiful, staff were friendly, and the furry friends snuggly. Great location for exploring the mountains and surrounding towns.

    Bianca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is the perfect spot for a little get away. It was just as described and depicted and met all of our needs and then some. Very clean, quaint, quiet, relaxing, and welcoming. Checking in couldn't have been easier and communication with Sarah was easy and super helpful. Sarah's place is located off of country roads, in a very accessible location, just a short trip to Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, etc. The cottage sits on an orchard with easy access to the on-premise Cidery. Their hard cider was delicious (much different and better than an Angry Orchard cider) and they offer quite the variety, I definitely recommend anyone that stays here to pop in for a drink around sunset time - great views of the mountains and the orchard.

  • Sarah was an incredible, gracious host. Her cabin is perfect for a lazy day in, and is extremely comfortable. She made sure to be very accommodating, and gave us any necessities we requested immediately! Due to our own sheer laziness there were a few things we didn't have or bother asking for, but I have no doubts she would have retrieved them for us if we had simply asked. Honestly, her cottage was everything we could have wished for and more! It was a beautiful place to reset. Also, the cider was delicious!!

    Paige2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cider house is an absolutely darling place to stay. Very clean and comfortable, and with an excellent view of the area. Sarah is very responsive and helpful. Can’t recommend enough.

  • “Tiny Home takes Big Place in Our Hearts.” This was our first tiny home experience and we are in love. The space was clean, well planned and decorated to perfection. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere we’ve stayed before. Sustainability is felt throughout and is supported by the rustic aesthetic and design. The open and green landscape of the surrounding farms can be seen from every angle through the walls of windows. We loved waking up to the sheep and being able to watch the family care for them. Nathan even encouraged us to come out and called in the herd for us to meet. Their sweetest puppy giving us love was also a plus. I booked this weekend stay for my partner and I over the coldest weekend of the year and was nervous about the heat situation. Don’t be scared! We were plenty warm and cozy with the stove, portable heater (provided) and plush linens. Despite having 19 degrees as the high all weekend, we had an amazing time, at home and within the community. The area has plenty to do; farmers markets, caverns, trails and hiking, breweries and shopping. We loved everything about this home and would recommend to any and everyone thinking about taking a weekend trip. Thank you, Lindsay and Nathan!

Guests are welcome to explore the entire farm property with its many mowed trails and ponds.
The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful! McGaheysville, VA has some wonderful restaurants close by. The Thunderbird Cafe which has a great breakfast, and Hank's BBQ and Romano's (Italian) are all within a mile or two of the cottage.
  • This is the place. Great food close by? Check! Awesome hosts who have thought of everything? Check! Breath taking views? Check! Comfortable, relaxing, cozy cabin? Check!

  • This is a fantastic, picturesque farm at the base the mountain. It has amazing views, ponds, chickens, hiking trails and beautifully manicured grounds. The cabins are cozy and clean. I could not have asked for better hosts than Tom and Denise. They were very attentive to every need. If you have to be Olin the Rockingham Co area and need a place, choosing this cabin (or any of their others) will be one of your better decisions.

    Tom2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Slice of heaven! Never will you find a nicer host, a more comfortable cabin or a more picturesque location. The cabin was just as it was described, sparkling clean and very cozy. The check in/out process is personal and easy and great food within walking distance or a 5 min drive (Hanks and Thunderbird Diner). If visiting the Rockingham county area, consider Shenandoah Farms for your stay. It will prove you be one of your better decisions.

We only stayed the night, so we did not take advantage of all she offered. It would be a great place for a family to stay.

Our home is in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Enjoy stunning views of Massanutten Mountain and the Blue Ridge Mountains from our neighborhood, or sit in our backyard and enjoy our gardens. We are minutes away from I-81, JMU, EMU, Historic Downtown Harrisonburg, Massanutten Four Season Resort, the Swift Run Gap Entrance to Shenandoah National Park, and many other destinations! Come to our cozy place to relax and get away while visiting or passing through the Shenandoah Valley.
Your room, (the Art Gallery, as we call it) is on the second floor and has a very comfortable queen size bed with many pillows, lots of natural light and a private bathroom with shower down the hallway. Fresh linens and towels are always available. You will notice that your room has a collection of some of our favorite art on the walls. The pieces are all originals that have special significance to our family. The combination of pictures and calm color palette creates a warm and peaceful atmosphere for our guests.
Our neighborhood is quaint and has lovely views of the surrounding mountains. There are several places we enjoy walking to and will happily share them if you are interested. We are within walking distance of a small art gallery and antique store, as well as a few restaurants.
  • Jantena’s room was perfect for a couple like us. The room with the private bathroom gives you privacy and easy check-in. The room is artistic and the bed is super comfortable. Jantena attends to details such as coffee, water, etc., which was very convenient. Overall it was truly an amazing stay experience. Her place is minutes away from some really nice Asian dining places, which was a plus. Thank you, Jantena!

    Tahiya2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Jantena’s place for 2 night weekend trip. It’s conveniently located close to the Massanutten resort where I went snow tubing as well as the Shenandoah National Park and Harrisonburg. Her place was sparkling clean and super adorable! The bed was SO comfortable to sleep in. Jantena provided lots of towels for the bathroom as well as qtips, cotton balls, toothpaste, and a hairdryer in the event you forget your own. Not a lot of time was spent in her place for my trip but it was really nice to come back to after a full day of activities. I’d definitely stay here again. :)

    Elizabeth2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jantena’s place was cozy, clean, and very relaxing. We enjoyed our stay.

  • So many thoughtful touches. It was a really cozy and comfortable stay.

    Gabriel2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • True to it's description, Jantena has a cozy bedroom that is private from the rest of the house. We chose her place so we could enjoy a spot close to Massanutten for skiing and a short drive to any restaurants. It was quaint and more than comfortable! Nice touches included a bath robe and water, as well as a coffee machine. There's also a microwave and minifridge available to you. There is no TV, but we packed a small screen to enjoy some shows after being out on the mountain all day. In addition, Jantena was kind enough to let us use the dryer to dry some of our ski gear. She is a very kind host and we highly recommend staying here!

    Jackie2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable and clean place close to massanutten resort. Would recommend!

NEW MAY 2019 - We’ve converted an old milk parlor into a charming rural retreat – just for you! The cottage is situated on the edge of our 15 acre farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We're sure you will love everything about our cozy cottage, from the shiplap walls to the breathtaking sunrises.
Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure we've got you covered; our cottage is located just 10 minutes from Interstate 81, 20 minutes to James Madison University/downtown Harrisonburg, and 3 minutes to the nearest winery. The Milk Parlor at Cross Keys' bedroom features a king bed with Casper Mattress, a seating area (with sleeper sofa), dresser, and coffee bar. You can count on us to stock the bar with some coffee and snack bars, plus bottled waters in the mini-fridge. Our walls are decorated with local art and an "Alexa" enabled Sonos speaker allows you to play your favorite music or get the forecast, using just your voice. Furthermore, if you want to stay in and enjoy relaxing, we have a TV that is logged-in to stream Neflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO. There is so much more and we can't wait to share it with you! #stayinamilkparlor
If you appreciate wine, you are in luck, we are surrounded by wineries! The closest is Cross Keys Vineyard, which also has a restaurant. It is 1.5 miles away. For our beer loving guests you can drive into downtown Harrisonburg to experience multiple great breweries or drive 20 minutes north or south to visit Cave Hill Farms Brewery or Stable Craft Brewing. Check out the Shenandoah Spirits Trail (https://www.shenandoahspiritstrail.com/) for more details on nearby wineries, craft breweries, cideries, and distilleries. If you enjoy local food, downtown Harrisonburg is 20 minutes away and is full of amazing restaurants. We also recommend Valley Pike Market, which is in Weyers Cave about 12 min from the Milk Parlor. It has lots of local goodies, a deli, food trucks, ice cream bar, and coffee shop. If you're "outdoorsy" and like hiking, biking or fishing, there are miles of trails, scenic roads, and waterways out of our door step. The view from the cottage looks right at the Blue Ridge Mountains, home of Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. We actually own a local biking and running shop, so we can recommend many places to explore, plus we have plenty of storage space for your bikes and other equipment. If you want to relax around the farm we have our own nature trail for you to enjoy. It is about a .5 mile walk, where we have a few trail side benches and a hammock and some chairs down by the stream. Do you like blueberries? Hobbit Hill Blueberry Farm is a pick-your-own patch right around the corner. (Seasonal - OPEN NOW) Massanutten Four-Season Resort is 20 minutes from our farm. They have lots of fun activities - skiing, waterpark, biking, and much more. Like pizza? Vito's Pizza is just a few minutes down the road and it's delicious (they also deliver to the farm.) Have kids? There is a new trampoline park 15 minutes down the road. Bonus, there is an ice cream shop and community playground right beside it! Horse enthusiast? Our property was once a horse farm and we have a few stables available for you to use, plus you're welcome to ride around our farm. Another fun activity near by is visiting the Grand Caverns. They are about 12 minutes from our cottage and a must-do experience if you've never been in a cave! Like antiquing? There are many great shops in our area - we recommend trying the Factory Antique Mall in Verona or if you're lucky enough to be here when the Barn at Creekside Farm is open - you must go!
  • Absolutely beautiful place to stay! This bnb was clean, cozy and felt just like home. Love the view of the mountain range and farm land!

  • Great location with lots of thoughtful touches. Space is larger than described With two distinct sleeping areas. Great for traveling with a kid. Kitchenette and toiletries are particularly well stocked if you need anything. When I asked questions Amanda went above and beyond to answer.

  • We loved the place. It was sparkling clean and she had a lot of nice touches and little extras. We would highly recommend the place.

  • Terrific place that feels very private. The amenities were amazing and we had everything that we needed for the weekend!

    Jacob2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic suite over their garage! Spent the weekend there - great kitchenette, huge bedroom area, and bathroom has anything you forgot! Definitely would stay there again for a trip to Shenandoah.

    Patience2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing location, such a beautiful spot. Loved our stay here and would definitely return in the future!

    Jessica2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as described, a unique little apartment tucked in rural Virginia. The instructions provided were really helpful to find the house off the highway. It was a bit cold when we arrived, and the floor board heating units are slow to heat, but it eventually did get warmer and cozy. A great spot if you’re looking to explore breweries or wineries nearby. It’s a bit of a stretch from Charlottesville (~40 minute drive), but it’s a pretty drive. Overall worth its value! It’s a bit small, so suggest being under 5’9” to be comfortable throughout the apartment, due to low ceilings. Would recommend! Thanks!

    Alek2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was an incredible host - very communicative, and left thoughtful touches all throughout the space, which is adorably decorated, sparkling clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The location is unbeatable and a great value. I will definitely come again!

    Renae2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is one of the cutest I’ve ever stayed in. From the back, off the main road location down to the huge bathtub. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. The bedroom and living area is so cozy, and they have games you can play! We spent the weekend unplugged and connecting with each other, basically. They also have a bunch of things in case you forgot anything- which helped so much when I forgot my flossers (and when I got acid reflux from drinking too much wine!) it’s in a lovely location, 30 min from Charlottesville and an hour from the VA brewery trail. Thanks Amanda!

  • The place was beautiful and so comfy! I love the fresh clean feel of the space and wonderfull little touches throughout. The gorgeous morning view with a hot coffee was the perfect start to a long days drive ahead. Ardith was very sweet to greet us at the drive and show us around. Thanks again!

  • Best kept secret is Ardith's place.

    Jack2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I was traveling to Shenandoah Valley for work and had the pleasure of staying in Ardith’s AirBnB. From the day of booking through check-in, Ardith was super communicative. The AirBnB is nestled right next to the main house with a great view of the sunrise. There were many thoughtful touches throughout the suite including water and snacks. These were especially welcoming after a long day of travel/work. Lastly, it’s a short drive to shops and food which is key. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone!

  • We stayed here for an overnight. Easy access to I81 so it was a great choice. The suite is in a lovely setting, comfortable, clean, and Ardith was a wonderful host. Excellent communication, and she offered many nice touches like healthy snacks, water bottles, and tips on local restaurants. Highly recommend and look forward to returning again.

  • If you're looking for a space you can show up and relax, this cabin is for you. All the little details are taken care of, with helpful notes laminated and placed everywhere to let you know how to use various appliances, where to put trash and dishes, and you don't have to go searching high and low for local information - it's all neatly provided on the book shelf right inside. The proximity to a bunch of local sites is great, and while you can see neighbor cabins, it's still quiet and the view is gorgeous. What an absolute find this place was - worth the money, and I'm VERY excited to come again in a different season.

  • Jim and Lisa were excellent hosts. This cabin is perfect for two people. It's well-designed, with a spacious kitchen and dining area, ideal for cooking meals at home. Their guest manual was also incredibly detailed, with many helpful suggestions for fun attractions and sightseeing in the area. We loved the fact that this cabin was just a 15-minute drive from a local vineyard, the Massanutten Storybrook Trail, Luray Caverns, and Stanley's small downtown area. I highly recommend booking a stay here!

    Rian2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Lisa’s place was perfect for a romantic getaway weekend in Shenandoah. Skyline Drive was closed the day we were there, but we found some great local wineries and stayed around the cabin. Very cozy. The hot tub and fire pit were amazing!

  • Magical rustic lodge surrounded by trees. Super comfortable beds, convenient little kitchen and friendly, helpful hosts. By car, the location is 20 minutes from the Switch Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Had planned to bike Skyline Drive from there, but there was black ice from rain the night before, so I did a little section of the Appalachian trail hiking to the Hilltop summit. It was a very enjoyable hike (climbing about 1200 feet) and I totally recommend it!

  • First of all We like to Thank The Divines for sharing their absolutely lovely cozy, clean and impeccable home with us. Everything one could possibly ask for away from home. James is truly a super host. Quick to respond to the most silliest questions. Much appreciated. We loved everything this little hideaway blessed us with. The cabin - Clean, immaculate, plenty of towels and Beds very comfortable. Lots of extra towels, blankets and pillows for those traveling with a larger family. The lake - Serene The hot tub - clean and relaxing and We were fortunate to have had great weather to be able to utilize it every evening. Our cocker spaniel loved the fact he could pretty much run around as much as he could with his one eye. Hence didn’t wonder off looking for game - (Thank God) Nevertheless enjoyed to wilderness smells. Not to far from Ruckersville. Quaint little town with all the necessities one required. The Tiny House is open. Email me for info on our extra precautions. Looking to (re)treat yourself? Artists, writers, nature-lovers...welcome! The Tiny House is a place to reconnect with the wild and precious - within and around you. Located on a farm at the outskirts of Shenandoah National Park, this is a place to immerse yourself in beauty, simplicity, and down-to-earthiness. Hike the mountains. Visit local wineries or art galleries. Befriend a goat. Or, read a good book at pond-edge.
I'm still accepting weekend guests and taking extra precautions to sanitize the space - consistent with CDC/WHO guidelines. Let us support your physical and mental health needs in a gorgeous location. I have opened up onsite trails for your use - complete with mountain streams, rock outcroppings, and a fern glen. You can book sessions for my Resilience Counciling (see Facebook page) while you are here. I can also teach you to forage for wild foods and you can purchase fresh garden items when they are available. Ravens Ridge Farm is featured in my book, RidgeLines: A View of Nature and Human Nature (2019). This is a working farm in a natural setting. Three lovable working dogs will bark during the day (it's their job to protect the goats and sheep), but are typically inside by 10pm. Adorable, yet overly narcissistic, cats are likely to stop by for some cuddling. Wildlife abounds. You might get lucky enough to see one of the resident bears, foxes, or bobcats. During spring and summer nights you may hear chorusing frogs at the farm's three ponds, perhaps an owl, maybe a coyote. For a virtual introduction to the beauty and beasts, visit my Fine Art America gallery. Search Jamie K. Reaser on Fine Art America. Notes: I will make every reasonable effort to accommodate special needs. If you require particular lodging conditions (e.g., due to health concerns), please contact me before booking in order to ensure that I can fully support your stay. If this lodging is not a good fit for you, I may be able to suggest other local Airbnb options that will meet your specific needs. Ravens Ridge Farm is currently for sale. I will be opening the booking calendar on a monthly basis in order to reduce the likelihood that booking conflicts arise when the property goes under new ownership. I'm currently accepting bookings through June.
Shenandoah National Park's Central District entrance is just 4 miles away by road. In 10 minutes you can be in downtown Stanardsville, in 20 minutes Ruckersville, and a 50 minute drive will enable you to enjoy all the amenities of a university town - either Harrisonburg to the West or Charlottesville to the South. Art, antiques, boating, breweries, cideries, distilleries, dancing, dining, fishing, hiking, rafting, rock climbing...there is so much to do in central Virginia! Search Explore Greene County for local tourism information.
  • Very charming setting, quaint house, and beautiful land. Enjoyed our stay!

    Diane2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie clearly puts a lot of thought into making the Tiny House a wonderful place to stay. The farm and surrounding area is beautiful and makes for a restorative get-away from the crowded, busy lives many of us lead. Highly recommend!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An art-graced, charming farm employing sustainable gardening practices and supportive of wildlife as well as friendly pets including goats and a sheep. The place is very special, nestled in a sunny spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains with sparkling streams below an abundance of mountain laurel and a pleasant hike to a gorgeous vista of the South River Valley. The Tiny House is a delightful place to stay.

    Deborah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Highly recommended! An incredibly peaceful location just outside Shenandoah National Park. You can feel your soul being cleansed as you immerse yourself in the woods. The "tiny house" isn't quite as tiny as you might think -- more like a small three-room apartment. We were quite comfortable and had everything we needed. The place was sparkling clean. The host is quick to communicate, warm, gracious, willing to share her knowledge of biology and the surrounding area. We love her...

    Eric & Erica2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny house was nicer than the photos I saw. Clean and cozy rooms, adorable animals and stars in the night sky. Also, Jamie was a very kind host. I think staying here is one of the good choices to experience Shenandoah National Park.

    EUNJI2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful, secluded place with all the right touches to make you feel cozy and at home.

    Cora2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is small, but it was definitely way more functional than I thought it would be. It did not feel cramped and instead, was a perfect amount of space for a cozy winter weekend away. We loved watching the goats and petting the friendly cats on the property. There was also an alphabetized "where everything is" page in the binder, which was super helpful when we were cooking and didn't know where to find things! We had all these grand plans for exploring the area and doing some hiking, but we ended up spending the entire weekend in the tiny house drinking coffee, reading, and playing board games. It was the perfect weekend away from the city.

    Keisha2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie’s tiny house is so wonderful! Hidden away in a magical oasis filled with birds and lush trees. Waking up to the sounds of the peaceful stream. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Jamie provided excellent directions and details for finding things to do. We fell in love with the cats and enjoyed morning walks around the gorgeous property greeting her goats and admiring the view. Highly recommended!!

Very close to I81 (3 blocks), JMU (2 blocks), downtown Harrisonburg (1.5 miles), and Purcell Park (3 blocks). We are an active family living upstairs. Some noise transfer is inevitable. We are conscientious of our guests and follow a 10PM quiet time. After 8/1/19 we need to charge 7.0% tax on the rental fee, to meet tax requirements. This is due in CASH at check-in
    Private entrance, complete privacy.
Quiet, established neighborhood. Close to a very nice park with 3 miles of walking trails.
  • We have stayed here before, and it is perfect for us to stay one night on our way to and from NC. An almost halfway point, and close to highway, convenient to restaurants and amenities. Pat and Vic are very pleasant and welcoming. The room is clean, comfortable and cozy. Definitely recommended.

In the heart of the Shenandoah mountains. 1 mile from White Oak Canyon and Old Rag. Perfect for the fly fisherman (lots of local streams or in the back yard is the Robinson River) or a nice quiet get-away for a couple. Once you park your car you can sit back and just listen to the river flowing in the back yard and enjoy a nice beverage next to the fire pit.
Shower, toilet and sink. Futon for sleeping. Refrigerator, microwave, 2 top hot pot, grill, cooking utensils, plates and silverware. Bring a pack and play for your baby. Or just sit outside and listen to the river flowing in the back yard.
  • A great stay for Old Rag Mountain, and a relaxing getaway. Especially liked the grill and campfire options!

  • Great little cabin right next to a little stream, calm and peaceful. Enjoyed seeing the stars and burning some firewood outdoors... Very close to several good hikes. Coming back! :)

  • Awesome property. Very close to some amazing trails!

  • The absolute cutest little cabin!! The shower and toilet area were separated from each other which was super nice, made getting ready with 2 people easier. The kitchen was perfect size, we used the grill and it worked perfect! They had a coffee maker/microwave/hot plate plus everything you need for cooking and serving. The hot plate cooks slow, but again, we were ok with using the grill! The cabin was clean and easy to find. The back yard was adorable with a seating area, fire ring and nice view of the woods and stream. We can’t wait to go back in the summer!

Very quiet neighborhood. No close neighbors. This a new house built Dec 2015. There are two rooms on Airbnb with a shared bathroom on one end of the house and I live on the other end of the house with my own bathroom. There is a new queen bed 9/2016 My bathroom is available if the guest bathroom is tied up. Plenty of parking and room to move about outside with good views and wildlife. I have a mushroom farm here, please ask for a tour. Harrisonburg city limits are 5 minutes from here
This bedroom has a full size bed and a single bed. Lots of closet space. There is a shared bathroom with the other room but usually the other room is not booked. That room has a queen bed. I provide washcloths and towels. This room has it's own heater and its own window AC so you can adjust the temperature to your own liking. I have internet with wifi but it may be too slow for HD movies etc.
Nice wooded area. There are nice views of the mountains here. Lots of restaurants in town. Very peaceful and quiet. Feel free to hike the wooded area or to the stream below the house. Red Tail hawks nest here most summers from March to June. Lots of birds for birdwatching. Very secluded, no neighbors.
  • Perfect place for a pit-stop on a long road trip.

  • Highly recommended!

  • Orv is a great host and he works hard to make his place clean and special. The mushroom garden is super interesting, and ask him to show you the hawks nest!

    Michael2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I arrived a lot later than I intended and Orv showed me in despite having to wake up early. Didn't get a chance to chat with him since it was so late, but it was a pleasant interaction. Really unique place with a lot of character. Hand made things all around the house, and many really cool wildlife photography and what looks like handmade frames. Most importantly everything was very clean. Carpet freshly vacuumed, clean sheets, bathroom sparkling clean. Lots of cereals in the kitchen. Only thing to be aware of is I think the water is really soft, if that's something that affects your preference. It was a really cool place to stay and had everything you could need. I'd definitely stay again if possible.

  • Excellent place to stay. Private and peaceful. Orv couldn't have been more accommodating.

  • I took a trip with one other person to visit Harrisonburg for the weekend. I have to say, we were very lucky that we were able to stay by Orv's Airbnb for the weekend. The place was very quiet and mostly hidden away from the main road. While it does get a little dark there, it's very peaceful and quiet. Coming from a very noisy area, this was a very nice change of pace for once. Orv was very kind and understanding of us having to check in a bit early as well. We can't thank him enough for his kindness and hospitality. Definitely a place I would love to stay at once more if I ever visit Harrisonburg again.

    Mildred2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay. Very quiet and comfortable. Great views and setting. Orv was friendly, welcoming, and responsive. Would highly recommend!

  • Orv's place is awesome! There are magnificent views of the mountains, Orv is very knowledgeable about the area and can direct you to anything you're looking for. He is super generous and hospitable and it was just a pleasure to stay at his place, I'll definitely stay again.

  • Such a beautiful cabin! Very clean and in a nice and peaceful area. We will definitely be coming back!

    Bailey2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin with two bedrooms with comfortable beds and pillows, a nice fireplace, and full kitchen and bath with many thoughtful touches. The record player was a plus as was a climb up the mountain on the farm to see Meditation Tower. Great place to stay and close to Massanutten and not to far from JMU! Owners were very friendly and helpful. Nice place to just be.

  • Awesome place...a must stay! Denise and Tom are outstanding hosts. We stayed in Cottage 2. It was so cute, rustic and had so many really cool nicknacks in and outside. Massanutten resort is right up the street. Lovely property, well kept ~ Firepit, charcoal grill, trails to walk on with 2 ponds.. Rooster, chickens, kitties and doggies and wildlife. Will definitely be going back! Thanks guys...

  • Denise’s place was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The cabin was perfect for 4 people and had great amenities. Denise was very prompt with the responses and she had great recommendations for local spots. The cabin was only 15 minutes away to some hikes in Shenandoah. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

    Therese2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was very clean and had many extra touches! It is in a quiet, peaceful setting. We hope to return again!

    Christine Kemp2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect pit stop while hiking Shenandoah. The cabin was very cute and loved having the indoor or outdoor options for fires with supplied wood. Sadly we didn’t have time to enjoy the grounds of the farm, but they looked great as well. Denise was very responsive and provided local recommendations as well. Would definitely stay again!

    Luke2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give Denise and Tom a 10 star review I would! The cabin is absolutely charming, exactly what you would want in a rustic weekend getaway. It was clean and welcoming when we arrived. We made use of the fire pit and the grounds while we were there and loved it! Denise and Tim were so welcoming and thoughtful, the best hosts I’ve ever had! If you’re thinking about staying near the Shenandoah, this farm is the place to stay! You will fall in love with it, it’s so charming!

    Katie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage 2 is a real gem! My family stayed for a night while visiting Shenandoah National Park and we couldn't have been more pleased with the visit. The cottage itself was very clean, cozy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. My two young children loved the fire pit and exploring the farm, including being able to feed the catfish in the pond! Denise was a wonderful host, very communicative and made everything easy. We would definitely stay here again!
