  • We stayed for two nights at the start of February 2020, and what a find it was! The house is perched on the tippy top of mountain above Bez overlooking wooded valleys, mountains and farmland on all sides. We loved the clearly routed hiking and enjoyed a lovely day of walking. Great heating, good facilities, excellent host, we'd stay again for sure!

  • Large new house in a hamlet of great tranquility. Véronique welcomed us perfectly. A stay to redo as much for the beauty of the places as for the quality of housing.

  • Pleasant stay, excellent reception by the daughter of Veronique in his absence. House very nice and comfortable, consistent with the description. On the ground floor, very functional kitchen, large bedroom with a very practical dressing room (rare in seasonal rental), functional bathroom also with large shower. On the floor, very bright and resting living room with nice view; terrace at the top for the sunset. Many small walks and hiking trails from the village and surroundings. Small village square in the shade of lime trees with table and benches, very nice at the foot of the fountain and bread oven. To recommend without hesitation.

  • We spent 2 perfect weeks here, thanks to Stephen and Marie, their beautiful little mazet, its garden, Bréau, the Cévennes… We had nice temperatures for walking and the region provides lovely hikes, demanding but not too extreme mountains, things to discover where ever you get, medieval villages, amazing rock formations, rivers, gorges, spectacular views and light forests spending welcome shadows. And, what a start of every day, having the best fresh baguettes and croissants in the village. Very much appreciated, Stephens leaflets describing the hikes. Using his French versions we got nice language lessons. Highly recommended, Peter & Lisa (Sweden)

The Orangerie is a bright room with a bedroom for 2 people; The kitchen has a fridge, oven, gascomfoor, coffee maker, kettle etc. The spacious bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet.
Only 3 km away is the small and cosy town of le Vigan with restaurants and cafés. And the beautiful nature of the Cevennes, the beautiful cities of Nimes and Montpellier are nearby.
  • Great stay at Ingeborg and Hans. Welcoming and discreet, we appreciated the authentic decoration of the place, the autonomy of our space, the cleanliness and the garden with the chickens and the swimming pool, ideal to cool off. Breakfast and a plus also to have bread and fresh pastries. Thanks again! The location is great to enjoy the area: Mont Aigoual, circus navacelles ... (by the way I recommend the restaurant La Cravate with a great panorma- it is necessary to book, but no need to stop at Vigan, it's a not very creepy)

    Johanna2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Superb apartment, not too hot in summer. The garden is very beautiful and the pool small but nice to cool off. The host is very friendly and available. The location of the house in the Cevennes is perfect for visiting.

  • A haven of peace in nature, caring and serene hosts, the bottle on arrival completes the idyllic setting for a relaxing holiday. The little dog is adorable, not noisy, and what a pleasure to meet up to have breakfast with the chickens! Everything is very well maintained, Hans and Ingeborg are adorable, they are so discreet and responsive and always good advice. It's really a place I recommend for a magical parenthesis in nature!

  • This unique and special home has a magical feel. We loved the location in the midst of natural beauty, the views, the decoration, the stone, the windows and doors, the terraces, and all the rooms of the home. We were three American couples who couldn’t have been more pleased with our week spent here, exploring medieval villages and Templar walled hamlets and deep, beautiful gorges. The last 3km of the road is steep and narrow and the front stairs are steep too, but the stunning home is worth every effort to get there. It is like a fairytale home and setting.

  • Odile home naturally very well, in his beautiful house. I will say that she is able to make you discover the walk in the surrounding mountains by her only enthusiasm and vitality, even if you have never done ... Thank you again for this good meal shared !!

  • At Odile we feel at home. And more.

    Veronique2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect stay at Odile. Upon our arrival we were seduced by the village of Breau, isolated from the bustle and close to the Vigan for all businesses. The accommodation is near several rivers for swimming and a multitude of hiking trails. Once in the housing we were happily surprised to discover a beautiful flower garden with trees that could not be imagined in the photos. The common areas are nice, the pool in mind (!) And the functional room and very clean. Odile is a caring hostess for her travelers. The breakfast is rich and diversified. She has also provided good advice for all activities in the area. We recommend without hesitation the table d'hôte thanks to which we could taste the good cooking of Odile and share with her the meal and the discussions.

  • Aurelie's house is a family home as we would all like to have one at the option of distant cousins. The garden, rather the terraces are to be preferred for your nap breaks as you read breaks.

  • The house has good amenities and sitting areas, plenty of room for us as a couple. The village is authentic, nestled in the mountains, with lovely views.

  • What a special place! Arre and Armelle's little house truly captured my heart. I spent 9 delightful days here-- sitting on the terrace enjoying the sound of the bubbling river and the view of the mountains, hiking on one of the many trails directly from the house, and even swimming in the river (it is refreshing!). Arre is a charming town with friendly, kind inhabitants. A little boulangerie with some groceries and delicious croissants and baguettes, and a pharmacy right in town. Le Vigan and Ganges have weekly markets where you can get all the produce and cheeses you could want! and Armelle was a very helpful and kind host. Can only recommend for a relaxing holiday truly in nature.

    Julia2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Armelle, it's a cozy little nest, in a beautiful environment at the edge of the river, exactly what you need to get away from the city.

    Claudine2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a little over a week in the cottage Armelle and it was a wonderful stay! Armelle was there when we arrived with a delicate attention (Pelards are really delicious cheeses!). The beds were made, she went around the owner and gave us advice for visits and hikes around a cottage. The cottage is equipped with all comforts, large, bright and very well done inside. The view from the terrace is really amazing! And we discovered the southern Cevennes which is a beautiful region that is worth seeing. Thanks again to Armelle for her welcome and her sympathy!

    Justine2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, quiet village house with views over the immaculately tended village vegetable gardens to the mountains. Birdsong all day long. Dark and starry night sky’s. Sit in the sun drinking your coffee in the morning & lunch on the patio. A good base for exploring on foot & by car. Le Vigan is close by and has probably the best local produce we have ever had. Local Boulangerie in Arre has the best croissants. Armelle is a thoughtful & responsive host. Would definitely come again.

    Eva2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Small cottage very cute, in a small charming village by the river. Too bad the village bakery is closed. Armelle hostess adorable, good advice and good guide to find the right path :-) a need for calm and greenery? ... spend a few nights there ..

Located at the south Cevennes National Park , traditional village house is entirely renovated and decorated. The accommodation offers two balconies and a fireplace, so you could appreciate your stay at all seasons.
A bakery is just at the other side of the road. Nearby, you could enjoy activities such as hiking, fishing or even swimming in the river. You’ll be close to major attractions : Mont Aigoual mountains, Larzac or the Cirque de Navacelles (Unesco). The local town of the Vigan offers several animations all year round and hosts an organic market every Tuesday and Saturday
The bakery (just across the street from the flat) is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 5AM to 13PM (only 12.30 on Sundays). A drugstore is available in the village as well as a postal agency if you wish to write to your entourage. Children can enjoy a new playground area, near a “petanque” field and football pitch. If you like cycling, you can use the cycling green lane going from the village to the town of Le Vigan in 30 minutes (organic market Tuesday and Saturday).

  • One of the best accommodations we rented. Terrace and balcony (rather high) with magnificent views. Ideal for 2 adults and 1 or 2 children. The layout is quality, materials, furniture and household equipment are complete and at home. You do not feel in a rented apartment but ... at home ... Board games for all ages and albums that remind young readers (beautiful collection of Martines ;-) Housing is both close to the Vigan (15 minutes) and shops and in front of a small bakery open from 5 am to 8 pm (in August at least). Hiking, guided tours, swimming in the Arre just down to the allotment gardens - no need to go further and there are far fewer people than the water points quoted by the guides. You can have water up to the waist. The hosts are available, adorable and full of little touches. A treat to spend a stay at home, I highly recommend this accommodation

  • Shhh! This place is magic! So intimate, unique, that one would like to be the only ones to have discovered it! Superb stone farmhouse, nestled in a hamlet in the heart of the Cevennes, with its cozy terraces of sun sheltered from the winds .... Decorated with the excellent taste of the Mistress of the place ... Each object is chosen, mottled ... very beautiful potteries, Vallauris, Biot ... On leaving, we already think to return one day ....;

  • We really loved our recent stay at Martine's bastide in the Cevennes. The photos really don't do it justice, as there are dozens of interesting rooms and works of art to discover! Despite the cool autumn weather, we really loved watching the sun set from (note: one of several!) the terrace. We also loved exploring Esparon itself, and driving through the picturesque villages nearby. The caretakers, Samir and Aicha, were delightful and very patient with our slow and often incorrrect French. They made sure we had everything we needed, and gave us suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Overall, a wonderful experience.

    Katie2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perched high above the valley in an incredibly atmospheric hamlet, the Great Old Bastide is an intriguing building that has been turned into a fantastic home. With a seemingly endless choice of rooms, nooks, terraces and unexpected views to explore, it would be easy to never leave. Each of the spaces is impeccably but comfortably furnished and we felt privileged to be invited in. Martine's communication was speedy, friendly and accurate and our arrival and departure were completely smooth. Everything to recommend it...

    Dan2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our time at Martine's house in Esparon. The house and village were extremely peaceful and we felt very relaxed as soon as we arrived. It was wonderful spending time in the outdoor terraces, eating our meals or reading books. The surrounding natural environment is beautiful and there are many great walks in the area. Martine was very helpful giving lots of information on places to visit and things to do.

    Katherine2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing beautiful haven of tranquility on top of the world! Martine was so accommodating of our short last minute stay and her housekeepers aicha and samir were so kind. Wish we could have stayed longer and we can't wait to return.

This is a sunny, welcoming space 10 minutes from le Vigan, with a large shared terrace( table football, table, chairs available) and a room to hang out in heated by a wood burning stove in the centre of Molieres. A great place for walkers. A separate shower and toilet across the terrace. For groups of 4 people there is another room available (see separate listing: "Bedroom (2) in a Cevenol village near le Vigan") Rustic, quiet, calm. Rest, relaxation, pause.
The bedroom is situated in an extension built of wood. The space is light and peaceful. The large room contains a piano which is available for guests and a small sink with cold water where you can make a cup of tea...the wood burning stove heats the whole space. The toilet and shower (house side of the terrace) are new. The terrace is often in the sun and, in my opinion, is a joy to be on! We often eat there, read, chat, snooze, play music, relax, look at the hills around...
Molières is a small, quiet village. My house is situated next to the boules patch and the church, and the sound of boules and the chiming of the church bell are often the only sounds around! The water from the fountain is excellent and in good weather there is often an aperitif there. People are welcoming. There are no shops, just the school and the mairie but there is an underground "emergency grocers" that works well between neighbours!

  • Elisabeth, smiling and friendly, welcomed us in its very typical accommodation, on the heights of this very pretty village of Molière. An accommodation, certainly basic, but so calm and invigorating for who would like to press "pause".

Beautiful, rustic old house in the Cevennes National Park, set on the edge of a village. Four light and airy bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two outdoor terraces with seating and a barbecue, set in a large garden. Ideal for people wanting to relax or to explore the Languedoc.
House details: Bedroom 1 - large room with views over the garden and the valley, two single beds. Bedroom 2 - double room, with views over the garden and front terrace. Bedroom 3 - leading off bedroom 2, two single beds with access to the garden down some stone steps. Views over the garden, terrace and valley. Bedroom 4 - ground floor room with super king bed. Hall - table for eight if the weather is bad, serving hatch to rear terrace. Wood burning stove. Salon - two sets of French windows opening out to the garden and rear terrace. Large open fire. Built in stereo system with controls for speakers in the hall and rear terrace. Bathrooms - one family bathroom with bath and shower; one bathroom with shower only. Front terrace - raised terrace with views towards the village and over the valley; table, parasol and vines for shade. Rear terrace and garden - covered rear terrace with large dining table, sofas and coffee table, and stone barbecue. Huge terraced garden with parking, olive trees and lawns.
The house is on the edge of a small village in the Cevennes national park. The village has a boulangerie, a bar and a post office, and a small fruit and veg market on Wednesday mornings. Two supermarkets in the local town (10 minute drive), which has a range of bars, restaurants and cafes. It also has a market on Saturdays (and Tuesdays in summer), along with a cinema, pharmacies, boulangeries and other services. Plenty of outdoor activities nearby, and easy access to Nimes, Montpellier, the Pont du Gard, Cirque de Navacelles and Gorges du Tarn. Approximately 1.5 hours to the Mediterranean coast, there is river swimming available in several places nearby (within a ten minute drive) and an outdoor public pool in the local town. For more information about the surrounding area, there are a number of tourist board websites. The most comprehensive is probably Tourisme Cevennes Navacelles, which will give you a good idea of some of the activities on offer and things to do nearby.
  • Great stay! The house is very comfortable and warm and the exteriors very pleasant with a beautiful covered terrace and a splendid garden. Calm and change of scenery assured.

  • Richard's house was perfect for us. We were looking for a small relaxing vacation and the house was a complete success. The BBQ place is incredible and Richard offers all the necessary tools to take the most advantage out of it. The house was really cosy itself and the living room was incredibly comfortable to spend some time by the fireplace. Richard was also very kind with us, we couldn't meet him but his cousin Fred was totally available for us whenever we called him for something. We strongly recommend this house to anyone who is looking for some relaxing days. We would love to go back. Aitana and family, from Barcelona

  • We are a family of four, who spent a wonderful week in the old rustic house right outside the small town of Bez. The house is perfect for people who love the authentic French atmosphere with rough stones, delicate interior and stunning views to the mountains from every corner of the house. The house has lots of space and very useful terraces. You can easily visit interesting places in the area. Caves, rivers and historical cities are within 1 -2 hours drive. There are supermarkets nearby, but don't miss the local bakery and the Saturday market in Le Vigan. We had a very easy communication with Richard, and he is a good host, who takes care of his guests.

    Birgitte2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The frame of the house is very pretty, it is an old stone house which is a bit cool (especially at night) but extra quilts are available. We particularly enjoyed the covered terrace (with the covered barbecue too), which allowed us to eat outside despite the bad weather. Richard is a caring host who takes the time to answer all our questions before and during the stay.

    Stephanie2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant stay, rustic house preferable to the beautiful days, ultra well equipped, well located with its local shops. Richard was very welcoming and yet we did not see each other! Very available and accommodating. Thanks to him and to the pleasure.

  • A great house with lots of charm, which has a certain medieval side with a large fireplace and a stove to have a nice warmth. A beautiful garden, several terraces, super comfortable beds and a magnificent view! The location of the house is great for lots of walks around. And the big plus - a great music system to enjoy your music in the living room and on the terrace. We had a great time!

    Carole2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at La Boissiere. A nice comfortable house, a superb view from both sides, quiet, a hi-fi system to listen to music everywhere and spend nice evenings on the terrace, a well equipped kitchen ... A guest at the ' listening and available to answer any questions. What more ?

    Lesley2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very good stay in this large stone building. The large garden, the decoration and the calm ambient are perfect for a weekend of rest and discovery in the heart of the Cevennes. The owner could be reached without worry and arranged for departure. Despite the rain, the interior space is sufficient with the children. We will be back! Didier

  • We had a very nice week in "La Pécole". The house is very personally furnished with many charming finds and antiques. The equipment was nothing missing. It has given us, although it seems small, enough space for four people. The proximity of the village (and the village bathing area) we liked very much. But the area also offers plenty of excursion possibilities, which we had not exhausted after a week.

  • Nature lovers looking for a place to spend a few weeks of vacation surrounded by greenery, close to refreshing rivers, sumptuous mountain scenery where to find the air on hot days, hiking trails for all levels, authentic markets where you can provide good products, in a region where there is always a party, a tavern, a concert, an event to participate in summer ... a place where children will be happy to discover many toys, comics , books, trees, fruits, insects while parents are free to have an aperitif with friends come to visit them and spend a few nights ... If you recognize yourself a little in these lines, "the school" is waiting for you! Claire and Nicolas were perfect hosts. Easy to communicate, both important information and good mood. This is definitely a perfect home for family holidays, some of which are after books. Thank you Claire, thank you Nicolas. We will come back because we miss it already!

  • What a great place to stay! We thought from the listing and reviews that Vi's place would be wonderful, and our expectations were exceeded. The old village in which the building is located is very special, nestled into the forested mountains and with a view over all of Arre. Vi's apartment is beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable. We had many happy days and nights making meals and taking in the views of the mountains from our windows. Though Arre is a small town, it is quite conveniently located. If you have a car, you can take many trips to the sights of the Cevennes. But we also thoroughly enjoyed staying in Arre itself, walking along the river, going swimming, and relaxing.

    Lucy2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is very stylish and spacious with great views over some houses and gardens and up the hills. Once I mastered the shutters the place stayed fairly cool during the hot spell of weather. The kitchen was well stocked with pots etc and a good sized fridge. Good parking and loads of atmosphere. Many thanks Vi, I enjoyed my stay. Lois.

  • Very nice place, we loved the fire! Thank you

    Lizzy2018-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • I spent more than a month at Vi's beautiful apartment in the Cevennes to write and enjoy the surrounding nature and the village of Arre. It is a truly magic place with friendly people, gardens, a river inviting to take a swim to cool down and many more possibilities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or simply taking a walk to look at the mountains from above and below. The next town, Le Vigan, has a beautiful market at the weekend with a wide range of offers by local vendors, which contributed a lot to my experience. One can cycle there via the "voie verte", i. e. railways that have been transformed to a magnificent bike path. Upon arrival Vi gave me many hints to make my stay as pleasant as possible and introduced me to her neighbours who are pretty nice company. The most lovely aspect about Vi's place is her passion for the interior design as well as how one can experience how the light travels from room to room during the day. Situated on a hill it is a perfect spot to observe how the sun is coming up in the morning and how it turns the mountains in different colours in the evening. The rhythm of nature is really close to it: one may observe birds, bats and the stars by night. In walking distance is a source with water from the mountain. I have never experienced a place that felt quite close to paradise and was so calm and peaceful. I left Arre being very grateful that Vi has been sharing this special place with me!

  • Very romantic and relaxing.

    Britta2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as described. The room is tiny up in the tower but very comfortable and stylish. The spiral staircase going down in the middle of the room serves as a constant reminder that you're staying in a tower. Some reviewers mentioned road noise, indeed it is close to a road but only serves a remote valley and thus carries only very little traffic (and virtually none at night). We loved the place and the location in the Parc des Cevennes.

    Ronald2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ingeborg and Hans have made their home a place full of character or it's good to spend a few days to discover the area. Everything is very clean and well thought out. The small tower, pool, garden with chickens, everything is very charming.

  • What have we enjoyed! The perfect place to unwind, but also centrally located to explore the area. Hans and Ingeborg are very friendly and are ready to help you wherever you go. Definitely recommended!

  • Hans and Ingeborg are very welcoming hosts, pleasant, available if you want while being discreet, which is very appreciable when looking for a quiet place in nature. The place is very beautiful, full of charm, beautiful view of the studio, nice swimming pool, small town close with all amenities. This was our first experience with a host and we loved it, in the future we will continue our vacation through this.

  • Inge and Hans's home is a wonderful place to stay. It's very peaceful and the lovely garden and portico are great places to relax. It's in a good location in the Cevennes with Le Vigan nearby and a couple of great restaurants (La Cravate and Croq'Jardin) within reasonable driving distance. Highly recommended.

  • Ingeborg and her family are very welcoming, the house is beautiful and the setting very relaxing. Full of small water point nearby for swimming in nature. We will come back without hesitation!

  • Very secluded location, but not too far from the nearest town. The apartment is well equipped , and stayed cool when it was really hot outside. The hosts are friendly and helpful, but give you privacy. We had a very relaxing time.

    Hilary2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The atypical place has something to seduce! Enjoy the bathing, the freshness of a covered terrace in these times of heat wave in the middle of a fragrant and alive garden. Great! And what a decor!

This is a sunny, welcoming space 10 minutes from le Vigan, with a large shared terrace( table football, table, chairs available) and a room to hang out in heated by a wood burning stove in the centre of Molieres. A great place for walkers. A separate shower and toilet across the terrace. For groups of 4 people there is another room available (see separate listing: "Bedroom (1) in a Cevenol village near le Vigan") Rustic, quiet, calm.
  • Friendly village, we are welcome. During cold days you can heat without worry and without getting cold to have enough energy to go outside. The small 'foodtruck' pizza down the village is also recommended!

  • A wonderful welcome from Elisabeth. Listening, flexible and warm. Located in the heart of a quiet village, his house is charming. The friendliness of Elisabeth and her friends made us live a very pleasant evening, especially humanly. My best Airbnb experience to date!

The house, which we've had and worked on for 7 years, is situated in the French cevennes, on the d999 between Millau(45 min) and Montpellier (1 hour) in a little village with 300 habitants. It has a little pool (4 m/2m50) and a courtyard with a dining-table, right next to a little fireplace/barbecue. The courtyard leads to a smaller courtyard behind the main building that has a more private atmosphere and an outdoor shower. Go to our website danmarre for more pictures and info
  • The house is very nice, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. The welcome was perfect and our guests very attentive. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing moment in the green and quiet.

  • Great stay with girlfriends! The accommodation could also be a good family holiday. Fabrice is reactive, the arrival welcomed by Jackie is no problem. The house is clean, the decor is nice, and the outside is great! I recommend for a stay in green ++

    Gabrielle2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, with plenty of space and everything you could need in a home from home. Very helpful hosts, we would highly recommend and would stay again. Thanks

  • And fantastic beautiful house, which is beautifully decorated, my daughter always started the day with a dip in the pool, and the American fridge found the kids (and we of course) extremely helpful. We immediately felt at home and really enjoyed our vacation. I really hope to return one day

  • We had a family stay in this very nice house, by the pool, with a great view, we enjoyed the weather, then we could visit the surroundings, there is plenty to see! Evenings on the terrace lit by lanterns are peaceful. And the hosts and Jackie are caring, available, accommodating and attentive. You will have a good time ...

    Marion2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice house with all the necessary comfort. Thank you to the owners for sharing this little piece of paradise!

    Selma2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house and pool are amazing, and we loved the different terraces in the garden, and the lights up the outside stairs. The steps in the garden, and the stairs in the house would be difficult for those with any mobility issues. The bed was comfortable, best nights sleep I've had. The house was very clean and beautiful, everything was there for our stay, plenty of crockery, cooking utensils etc. It was definitely an immersion into french life, and everyone in the village and surrounding area were very friendly. Jackie was most helpful.
