Places to stay in Evandale
We are in the historic and pretty village of Evandale, with beautiful views from your deck across to the Western Tiers. We're 10 minutes drive from the airport and 20 minutes to Launceston. The village has two pubs that serve dinner and a cafe/bakery for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We provide a continental breakfast for your 1st day. We do not have the facilities for cooking meals - just a microwave, toaster and kettle.
The flat has a separate entrance and a deck and is totally private. It is attached to our house, which we share with two small dogs and a special cat, and overlooks our garden, where you may see us gardening (usually weeding it seems). We are interested in sustainable and healthy living, animal welfare and minimising our impact on the environment. We don't use chemical cleaners and provide healthy (but delicious) breakfast food. Two ducks and six chooks live in the garden. Sometimes the dogs are in the garden. All our animals are friendly. If you have a pet that you can be sure will get on peacefully with our lot, we can talk about them staying.
Evandale is a beautiful village in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania, an ideal spot for exploring the coast, hiking in the mountains or just hanging out in Launceston, which is a laid-back and pretty city. Near us (5 mins walk) there is a river that is popular for fishing and kayaking. In the summer months locals picnic on the banks and swim in the river. We have one 'gastro' pub , one local pub, an awesome bakery/cafe, an art gallery, local supermarket, vintage clothes shops, craft and upmarket gift shops and a hairdresser. There is a whiskey distillery near to us that makes beautiful single malts and lots of wineries. Josef Chromy is the nearest. Evandale is the home of the National Penny Farthing Championships, the Tasmanian Chamber Orchestra Festival, the Glover landscape prize and the famous Sunday Market.

  • Good stay! It is a basic accommodation but very comfortable. It is located about 10mins to the airport so very convenient for us. Do come at daytime as after the dark it might be a little hard to find the place. However, host was available to help us though. Thank you! One thing to recommend - maybe to provide a cooking stove instead of just heating stove on microwave oven?

The Old Wesleyan Chapel (1836) is a charming Heritage Building (National Trust) that offers studio accommodation with character and history. We are situated in the heart of one of Australia's finest colonial villages, Evandale. The Chapel has been stylishly decorated and features a double bed and a sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen, large screen TV, washing machine & easy car parking outside. Best of all, you are only 15 minutes from Launceston and 5 minutes from the airport!
The Wesleyan Chapel is one of the oldest listed airbnb properties in Tasmania! You will be staying in the original Chapel built in 1836. Although the property is designed for couples we do welcome families to stay with us, there is a pull out sofa bed for the kids which makes it a great "value for money" option for families.
What makes Evandale special is its one of the prettiest and best preserved historic towns in Australia. Its Late Georgian and early Victorian buildings house shops and Pubs and it's relatively untouched streetscape offer a unique glimpse into Australia's past, with some buildings dating back to 1809. The Wesleyan Chapel is situated in Russell St, which is the main historic street and is less than 100 metres from the popular Evandale Market with over 100 stalls. Every year Evandale holds the World Penny Farthing Championships, which is something to see! The historic towns around Evandale are also delightful and are full of Historic homesteads and if you are looking to visit the popular Ben Lomond area, Evandale is a great jumping off point.
  • Lovely space and very convenient check in and out. Evandale is a gorgeous little town!

  • You would want for nothing in this little gem. Attention to detail and concideration for their guests needs was obvious. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Its location is especially good, with all your wants, just a stones throw away. The bakery cafe is very popular and a must for breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake.

  • Definitely recommend to stay here. Really nice

  • Very cosy and comfortable. My little dog George enjoyed the fenced backyard in which to play. The password access was easy to do and convenient not having a key to remember. The bed was really comfortable and being a cold night I enjoyed the electric blanket, and extra blanket provided, also the airconditioning. The stove top and oven were handy as I was able to heat a frozen pizza for tea, purchased from the General Store close by. Just about everything I needed was provided by the thoughtful hosts. Many thanks, I did enjoy my stay. The position is so convenient for enjoying this charming village.

    Helen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • First time staying in a church, a wonderful experience. The room has kitchen facilities for cooking. The location is very close to the airport, the next morning the plane, if driving by car is a good choice. Suitable for two people. The sofa bed is too soft for only one child.

  • My stay was absolutely beautiful. Provided the perfect spot to get ready for our wedding. Would absolutely recommend!

    Naomi2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • As described. Quaint cosy cottage with above average amenities. Our stay was very comfortable. Great location, short drive to Launceston airport and CBD. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and the general store. May not be an ideal place for very tall people due to low ceilings and doors in some areas. The stairs are also pretty narrow and steep so may not suit small children or older adults. The bedroom windows is situated on the Pub side next door so it can get a little noisy in the evenings when the weather is nice. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay at Blackwood Cottage and would highly recommend this accomodation for a stay outside Launceston Central.

    Joanna2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Loved reading in the daybed. Bakery next door does a great vege breakfast. The pub patrons were a bit loud one night and can be heard very clearly through the top bedroom windows, which don't completely shut out noise/wind.

    Tim2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is comfy, cozy and unique with extraordinary location. It is very convenient to access cafe and bunch of antique stores to purchase gifts. Skye is a very nice lady with patience and warm heart. I will recommend the place to my families and friends to stay around Launceston.

Glen Stuart Cottage is situated on a working sheep farm. The cottage is self contained and ideal for a couple looking for some peace and quiet. Wake to the sounds of the birds, sit on the deck to watch the beautiful sunsets and as the evening approaches, you might see some of our native animals including wallabies, possums and echidnas. We are only a short 15 minute drive to Launceston Airport, close to the village of Evandale, and a 30 minute drive to Launceston city.
This is a great spot as a base to visit areas in the north of Tasmania, from the winery region on the Tamar River, to the slopes of Ben Lomond. You will need a car to access Glen Stuart Cottage, and if you are arriving in the evening, drive a little slower on our roads as you will see some of our native animals.

A great value room, close to the city. Looking forward to having you. This is a small room on a steep busy street with no parking. You may have to park 300m away. There is a gravel driveway with difficult access and a big step. We are a young loud happy family of 4 upstairs with 2 dogs, but we are not ninjas. There is another Airbnb next door adjacent to the room. The heat pump is next to the bed and may be noisy. Please note we are in the middle of renovating.
Quirky and tidy minimal space, great budget accommodation. Can sleep 2 comfortably, and a port-a-cot with baby. You have your own bathroom. Separate access. You will get a unique key box code to enter the room with. NBN wifi available, minimal kitchenette facilities, microwave, hotplate, toaster, kettle, Crisp white sheets, towels, amenities, and a comfortable bed. Walk 20min into town, less to the supermarket, cafes and bars. There is steep hills though. Bus stop 500m away every 30min. Please keep the noise down after 10pm as it may disturb other guests. Eg. TV noise.
Walk into town, the supermarket, or cafes and bars. There is a few MOLE hills so make sure you don't mind getting the old heart rate up.

It has accommodation for 4 adults, with a cosy wood fire and electric heating. The house is a quiet haven to spend a few days or more exploring the delightful attraction around the northeast of Tasmania.

  • Immaculately presented period property in the historic and conveniently located town of Evandale. Full range of facilities available and a warm welcome. Very enjoyable stay.

    Mark2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • A picture perfect cottage. We stayed in early December - the roses and other flowers were in full bloom and the grass was still green. The cottage is delightful, as was the walk around Evandale village. The cottage was clean, the beds comfortable with lovely sheets as well as electric blankets. The cottage is about a 200 metre walk from the site of Evandale’s famous Sunday market - a must visit. Fantastic that it is DOG FRIENDLY. Thankyou! It would be better still if some fencing was provided to make the immediate backyard area dog proof. Fortunately the cottage is set back a long way from the road. Please note that you have to ASK FOR WIFI and you will be given a modem and password. This is not unlimited but should cover basic needs. Foxtel is provided but, as many have said, the program choices aren’t worth the cost. If the cottage was mine, I’d rather buy an Internet plan with unlimited data and also provide Netflix or Stan. Much better value. It is suggested that basic directions also be provided to show how to switch from the TV to Foxtel and how to use the DVD player. We finally worked it out after trial and error. Similarly, a simple note about how to use the coffee machine would be useful. The owners live in the big house next door, but left us alone. All in all, we greatly enjoyed our stay and the opportunity to spend a few days in this beautiful abode - which is a credit to the owners.

  • Grandma's House was so clean and well located. It was lovely and warm with heaters and a fire which is important in Tasmania. It was wonderfully cosy and welcoming.

  • Grandma's house is very comfortable, everything you need to have a relaxing time, I loved the Nespresso coffee machine and the location is perfect. It's great that it is dog friendly and has a garden. We loved our stay.

  • Great place , came here for the second time in the same trip

  • Trudie was very kind and hospitable during our stay. We were very comfortable in the unit and loved the peaceful outlook. Would happily stay again.

  • The place is amazing and very close to the airport. Rick and Trudi were very nice and offered to take us from the airport. The house is amazing and very home like

    Neri2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Trudi’s place. Excellent vibe, beautiful outlook and good breakfast provisions. Evandale is also a lovely little town to explore - particularly for the penny farthing championships!

  • Such wonderful & accomodating hosts - felt like staying with family. And the space was so welcoming & full of thoughful touches. Cannot rate highly enough!

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Trudi and Rick . It was a highlight of our trip. We will be visiting again next year.

    Jan2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Trudi and Rick are so hospitable and kind. Trudi considerably prepared all we needs and the breakfast. The house is lovely, tidy, clean and comfortable, I slept so well that night. When knowing we are interested in farm life, Rick took us to watch the dogs rounding the sheeps up from one place to another. The dogs are also very nice and friendly. It is not a home away home, that is a home away better than home. I also learned a lot from Trudi abount her attitute to life. That's an amazing farm experience. Strongly recommend to live in Trudi's home and enjoy your wonderful holiday with them. BTW, according to Trudi's recommendation, we went to Evandale Sunday market ( 5 min by drive from Trudi's home). You can find lots of interesting stuf's there, including food, fruit, hat and antiques. That's a good place to go if you happen to live in Trudi's home on Sunday.

    Jean2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Trudi’s place was warm and clean. Plenty of space for us and easy to find. Highly recommend for a couple.

This delightfully furnished former Brew House features a combined bedroom and sitting room with a luxurious queen sized bed and antique seating. The accommodation also provides conveniences such as a television, DVD player, refrigerator and kettle. The room features a quaint balcony that overlooks the luscious gardens, a perfect spot for that morning cup of tea. Blenheim Inn is the perfect stop for those travelling between Launceston and Hobart.
Blenheim, a Coaching Inn built in 1826, is one of the finest examples of a Georgian Inn complex within Australia. This delightful two-storey red brick building has a slate hipped roof and projecting eaves. The five-bay front facade has a corniced portico with stone entablature supported on four Tuscan columns. An assembly room upstairs was used for concerts, dancing, and a meeting room for the Masonic Lodge and other groups. Outbuildings included a brew house, stables, blacksmiths shop, cottage and loose boxes. Some of the buildings were destroyed by fire. A stones throw away from surrounding parks and rivers. Immerse yourself in the village and feel like you have stepped back in time. Purchase a delightful and original gift from the glass gallery situated inside Blenheim.
Evandale today is a National Trust classified Georgian village, popular with tourists for its unspoiled heritage buildings, notably St Andrews Church, the Uniting Church, with its classical belltower and Doric columns, Blenheim (1832) in High Street; Royal Oak (1840) and adjoining stables now Evandale Antiques, Clarendon Arms hotel (1847) and Fallgrove (1826) in Russell Street; Solomon House (1836), and the saddler's shop (1840) at the intersection of Russell Street and High Street.
  • Victoria’s place was a beautiful, quaint, self contained area of their home. Lovely breakfast and hot drink options. Plenty of things to read and watch on telly. Close walk into Evandale for shopping and meals, also very handy to the airport. Would highly recommend this bnb.

    Hamish2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Victoria’s is a trip back in time to a bygone world of peace and tranquility. We just loved our stay there and would recommend it to anyone looking for some old world Tassie charm. The building is an old coaching inn set in the heart of Evandale which must be one of Tassie’s most well preserved historic villages. What I most loved was the informal beauty of the house and gardens. Victoria obviously loves the place and obviously enjoys making sure her guests are well looked after. We’d definitely stay there again.

    Daphne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria's place is absolutely marvellous. I had a perfect stay in a beautiful room overlooking a stunning garden. Couldn't fault a thing and can't wait to return!

  • What a hidden gem Evandale is! Victoria's loft is like walking into the past with such loving touches .Recommend to dine at Clarendon Arms for 5 star meal and service. Next time we'll book on a Saturday to get to go to the market too. Wonderful short break.

Quirky , small, clean and tidy , close to city, bus stop 2 minutes walk, city 25 mins walk, You will walk past The Cataract Gorge and the Marina to get into the city. Close to the Tailrace park, walking and cycling tracks. Pleasant backyard to sit in , have coffee and enjoy the sunshine. Tasmania Zoo is 25 minute drive away and The Wetlands 10 minutes drive. Trevallyn Dam Reserve also about a 10 minute drive.
Not modern, however unique and quirky, clean, tidy and neat, everything which is required apart from clothes washing facilities. This however can be negotiated with the host.
  • The studio was clean, comfortable and Susan kindly left a few groceries for me. The location was good, though as described in the listing there is traffic noise at times. All in all a good place to stay for a week, or longer

    Diana2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place exceeded my expectations in every possible way. The place is very well laid out, which makes it feel much larger than it is. There are extra touches at every step, from breakfast supplies to snacks to toiletries and even scissors when we needed them! What little we didn’t have, Susan went out of her way to provide. We didn’t get to meet, but she made her warmth and generosity felt nonetheless. I wouldn’t dream of staying elsewhere next time I’m in Lonny!

    Alex2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed for around a month and I can't say anything bad about the place or about the host. Loved the place, very quiet and clean. And Susan is wonderful, every time I needed something she responded right away. Great choice.

  • We stayed at Solomon Cottage in Evandale for the January long weekend. The location was perfect for the wedding festivities we attended in and around the area. Solomon Cottage was delightful, full of character. It was cosy, quirky and very comfortable. My bed was so toasty, I slept like a log (I think the cooler Tasmanian temperatures helped too!). Peter and Di were the perfect hosts. I'd recommend Evandale to anyone looking for a Tassie get-away and I'd recommend Solomon Cottage without hesitation.

A delightful 1870's Georgian terrace set in the heart of the restaurant district. This heritage feel, stand alone townhouse has a tastefully decorated modern interior, a fully secured, leafy courtyard, three off street car parking spaces. It is located across the road from the Launceston General Hospital and within a gentle stroll to the CBD, and walking distance to Launceston's number one nature attraction, the First Basin and Gorge, as well as Penny Royal World and Seaport Precinct.
Close to hospitals and restaurants, but my favorite café in Launceston is literally straight across the road. Aroma's make the best coffee and snacks, well worth a visit.

  • We loved calling this place home for our stay in Launceston. Beautiful inside and out. Outside there were roses out front and a well-designed courtyard out back (very nice spot for a lazy morning coffee). Inside is a carefully modernised terrace house - with great spaces that suited our family of four. Lovely touches such as quality linen. And the cafe across the road has fantastic coffee. We highly recommend staying here.

Budget priced double-bed room in a friendly suburban home. Off-street parking, NBN WiFi, bedding, towels, electric blanket, heater, desk & chair. Ingredients for a light breakfast. Suit 1 or 2 people who can appreciate this room in our busy, unique 'cheap & cheerful' family home! Share bathroom, toilet & laundry. Profile pic showing your face required. Please confirm that you AND 2nd guest HAVE read ALL my detailed description (Click on 'Read more about the space') or I'll request you to do so!
The quiet, comfortable Airbnb guest room in my vibrant, busy and unique Peel Street West Launceston family home offers you an economical alternative to being in a backpacker hostel or camping. We are actually cheaper than a tent site at the local caravan park!! My home is welcoming, friendly, cheap & cheerful and, some say, a bit unconventional, quirky and cluttered, and my private areas of it may not be as neat and tidy as your home is! Please DON'T book to stay here if you will find this unacceptable, as I care about my guests, and need to know that their expectations will be met. My many belongings ARE in full view! We are NOT a hotel, you are staying in a room in MY home with no pretense of pristine luxury, and this is reflected in the affordable price I charge for the budget conscious traveller. We are actually cheaper than a tent site at the local caravan park!!! My Airbnb listing is best suited for independent, easy going travelers who appreciate the quirks of my budget-priced, friendly and vibrant place, don't criticise my messy clutter, understand that they will be sharing facilities (inc bathroom) with other residents, and that this is a vibrant and busy family home. We are a busy, vibrant household with people 'on the go' at all times, and WE LIVE HERE TOO!! As well as myself and my 30 year old son (Ariel), a Chinese student (Will) also lives in my home (so Mandarin Chinese as well as English is spoken). Sometimes there is a friend or Helpx helper also staying here! Like most Australian families, we have pets. Two cats, "Kilara" and "George", also live here, but they keep to themselves, and we have some chooks that just roam in the garden. Free NBN WiFi available. My kitchen is NOT part of the Airbnb listing. We are LGBTIQ / Gay Friendly. We are in a safe, quiet suburban neighborhood with off-street parking provided in a designated spot beside my house. As we are on an 'internal block' behind the house facing the street, there is a long gravel driveway to access my property. Please drive slowly and carefully when you enter and leave my driveway, there is a bit of a 'dip' at the street end. Children OK, if sharing your bed. Your room, which also has a separate door opening onto an outdoor verandah area, is bright, quiet, neat, tidy and clean. It is suitable for either a single person or a couple, as there is only one (double) bed in it, and no space to add another. The room has a heater, desk and chair, mirror, cupboards, bedside lights, and a comfortable double bed with an electric blanket and good bedding. Tourist information, reading material, free book exchange, towels and toiletries are also supplied. Ingredients for a light breakfast, use of a small fridge, microwave and tea/coffee/toast making facilities are provided for you in a utility room close to your bedroom. I provide freshly laundered towels and bed linen, and your room is neat, clean and tidy. If you accidentally make a mess in the bathroom or toilet, there are cleaning supplies provided for your use. When booking, please indicate that you, and the 2nd guest (if there is one), HAVE read ALL my detailed description by writing "Yes, I read all your detailed description" or I will request you to do so before I accept your booking. Please let me know the NAMES of ALL guests and make sure you have a clear photo of all guest's faces. I like to know who is arriving to stay with us here! . I don't charge you an extra cleaning fee or bond, to keep my prices low and affordable. There is no en-suite (you will be SHARING the bathroom, toilet and other facilities with all of the other household residents), but my Airbnb room is priced accordingly and I offer guests great value for money for the budget-conscious traveller who appreciates staying in a local family home, and the amenities I make available for them. These include providing ingredients for a light breakfast, fruit, tea and coffee, toiletries, tourist information, reading material and a 'book exchange', as well as laundry facilities on request. You can come and go as you like, and have total privacy in your room, but this IS a vibrant and busy household with visitors visiting and people on the go at all hours... though your bedroom is at the quiet end of the house, with a lock on the door and a key, ensuring privacy when you are in or away from the room. Free NBN WiFi Internet available. All facilities are shared, including toilet, bathroom (with shower and separate bathtub) and laundry (which has a modern washing machine and dryer, plus washing powder, for you to use, as well as an iron and ironing board). A small fridge, with its own little freezer, plus tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave oven, a toaster, sandwich toaster and ingredients (bread, cereals, jams & spreads, fruit, milk, tea and coffee) for a light breakfast are provided for you in the laundry/utility room, next-door to your bedroom, so you can help yourself whenever you like! PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION! My home is in West Launceston, a suburb about 10 minutes drive from the CBD, and about 20 minutes from the airport, and like most of Launceston, we are on a HILL and the street is STEEP. We are NOT in the CBD, but are an easy, short drive away. PLEASE note that my exact location is pinned on the map with my listing, so before you book check this carefully, so there will be no need for YOU to make a mistake on 'location' and unfairly penalise me for this!! I get VERY upset when I find that guests give me a lower 'star rating' for 'Location' because they made a mistake when they chose to stay here, or didn't bother to find the exact address on the map and complain that we were 'hard to find' or that I didn't give you the correct address. There is a large sign on a tree at my letterbox that the entrance is 'this driveway' and this is also written in Chinese at the bottom of the sign! There is a local bus service, and a bus stop just up the road, but we ARE in the suburbs, not in the city, so there are no shops or restaurants in my immediate neighborhood.. but there are a couple of supermarkets and places to eat a short drive away. I can usually arrange to collect you from central Launceston on request. To get to my home from the airport, there is a taxi (about $45) and shuttle bus service ($25 per person). I can often arrange an airport pick and/or delivery (for $20 per journey each way). My home is number 91A, it is on an INTERNAL BLOCK, access is via the LOWER driveway, DOWN THE HILL from house number 91 and DIRECTLY beside it. I am located BEHIND that house! There is a sign on a tree at the beginning of my long gravel driveway saying "91A Entrance This Driveway". Call or message me if you need more directions.
LOCATION. Please note, I am being extremely accurate about my location... we are in the SUBURBS, not the city! West Launceston is an appealing, safe neighborhood about 10 minutes drive from the CBD and about 20 minutes from the AIRPORT. Like most of Launceston, we are on a HILL. There is a long gravel driveway from the street to my home, which is located on an 'internal block' so is not visible from the street. There is a sign on a tree near my letterbox, saying '.... this driveway....'.

  • Staying at Yvonne’s place was quiet the Air B & B experience! Amazing hospitality! We had a blast, met some great people and made some memories. Yvonne was a fantastic and welcoming host, she made us feel at home and even picked us up from the bus! My advice is read the description carefully, Yvonne’s place is exactly as she advertises. We will most certainly be back again!

A quaint little cottage, that was once owned by Mrs Brown and her son Joe. They made Pegs from the willows down by the river in the early 1900's. It sits quietly near the weeping willow tree and flowering garden. Guests are able to wonder freely throughout the garden, maybe enjoy a glass of wine and cheese sitting by the privately owned Water Tower at any time of day or night. Stroll to the main street, see other historic sites along the way. The walk is all paved and on flat ground.
"Peg Cottage" has beautiful handcrafted leadlight windows. A small deck to enjoy. All new shower & toilet facilities, kitchenette with microwave, induction hot plate, fridge, sheridan bath robes, electric blanket. Iron & mini iron board, Hair dryer,shampoo/conditioner/soap. Free parking on premises, electronic gate with spare remote. Breakfast provisions provided.
Evandale is a historic town, many things to see and do, Antique shops, Fresh Bakery & meals, Prince of Wales Hotel, Clarendon Arms Hotel, two churches one being the oldest church in Australia. Unique and very popular markets every Sunday held in Falls Park. Enjoy fresh scones, jam tea and coffee in the hall. Leather goods shop, post office & IGA. You are able to walk from Peg Cottage to the main street, all flat ground. Do the historic walk along the way with sign plaques on places of interest. Take in the small muesum at the information centre a block away.

  • We were greeted with what we’ve come to describe as the Tasmanian warmth and hospitality. The cottage was immaculately clean. I appreciated all the extra thoughtful additions to cover you if you forgot any personal items such as body products and bathroom personal items. They thought of everything in this cottage to make our stay very comfortable. Lots of extras I didn’t expect. I loved the basket of breakfast foods also. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Julie and Gary.

    Louise2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pegs cottage was such a beautiful and cosy space. We loved everything about it, the bed was super comfy, the place was really clean and Julie and Gary are such lovely people, ensuring we had enough supplies during our stay. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit.

    Anna2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We could not recommend the peg cottage enough! My partner and I spent a few nights at this cosy and charming cottage as a base for our travels around Tasmania. The hosts Gary and Julie were exceptionally caring, attentive, and hospitable and made sure our stay was perfect. Communicating with them was very easy and timely. All amenities within the cottage were thoughtful, such as fresh breakfast items, coffee/tea, a few toiletries, wifi with Netflix available, and even fresh flowers as a nice decorative touch. The bed was comfortable and the hot shower was a welcoming relief after a long day of exploring. Gary was also happy to guide us and provide great local recommendations. Thanks Gary and Julie for making our Tasmanian trip so memorable, and we hope to visit again in the future!

Welcome, experience the 1840's in comfort in our latest airbnb (please check our other apartment's reviews). It is warm, comfortable, spacious & enriched with history and character. Former residence of Frank Browne, first man to conduct xray in Tasmania. Great location, CBD-3 min walk to restaurants, shops, city park & aquatic centre. The interior's been lovingly restored & currently there is restoration work on the exterior including a rear wall. This will not impact your stay.
Experience the heritage of this 1840s building in the heart of Launceston. Everything is in easy walking distance including many main attractions.
Fantastic central location with easy walking access to many attractions e.g city park which hosts events like Festivale, James Boag Brewery who host the beer festival. Also 5 min walk to shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and the aquatic centre. Approximately a 20 minute walk to University/Aurora Stadium and Inveresk museum. Downhill there and return walk is up the hill of Tamar Street.

The room is carefully designed as well as very quite, clean and neat. We enjoyed our stay here and chances are that will return again! Also if you want to live in a place close to the airport Laura's place is a good choice.

  • "White Dove Cottage" is an amazing place to stay. So clean, fabulous garden to walk in, so tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed, all guests needs covered meticulously. We opted for a small extra payment for breakfast which was delightful. Paula is the prefect host. We highly recommend this as property to visit in a very pretty, clean country town, with great grocery shopping and a good Pub meal on offer.

This is a tiny room on a steep busy street with no parking. You may have to park 300m away. There is a gravel driveway with difficult access and a big step. There is a young loud family of 4 upstairs with 2 dogs, we are not ninjas. There is another Airbnb next door adjacent to the room. The heat pump is next to the bed and may be noisy. Please note we are in the middle of renovating.
  • Good little room when heading through Launceston. Street parking across a main road can be a bit dicey if you have a lot of baggage - we left it all in the car. But the bed and room was comfortable and clean. Louis recommended Burger Junkie for dinner and it was great.

    Tash2020-03-19T00:00:00Z

  • Louis’ space was clean & cozy, complete with stylish decor (love the lights!) and an easily navigable entry. The sweet touch of bacon, eggs, muesli and milk (which we would’ve loved had we not hit the road early to get to the spectacular Freycinet National Park- just 2 hours from Louis’ place) in conjunction with the quick and friendly responses made this a really lovely stay :)

Our comfortable modern industrial style apartment is situated in our private oasis of a garden. With a queen bed, quality linen, fast unlimited wifi and Netflix. We have a few gorgeous chickens, a Springer spaniel pup and red kelpie dog. Located 15min walk to CBD, and 5min to shops and other necessities. Safe on-street parking directly out the front.
The studio space comfortably suits a couple. A kitchenette and fridge for the late night snack or a 3 course meal. The apartment is very private on its own floor with newly renovated bathroom. Our home is on the next level, so occasionally you may hear footsteps from above, as you might see from our reviews this is very rarely an issue, however we want to be transparent about the space. The accomodation is very safe and private with gated entry.
We live opposite Invermay Oval, a stones throw from UTAS Stadium, a short walk to Heritage Park and the North Esk river. We don't have any direct neighbours, so although an active area the accomodation is private and quiet. That being said, occasionally it can be a little active when the oval is being used across the road. Deli, grocery, laundromat restaurants and shops are a 5 min walk away.
  • Cozy, stylish and convenient location close to downtown, the Gorge and the beautiful Tamar Valley vineyards. Sparking clean and great hosts. Would highly recommend!

  • With it's quirky/rustic styling, little treats (yum - fresh bread for breakfast!), a comfortable bed with big cosy pillows and a beautiful garden setting you will feel right at home in Anthony's studio. During our week long stay the resident dogs, Bam and Augie, kept us amused and greeted us like long lost friends when we returned home each day. They are gorgeous.

    Jill2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The guest suite is a fantastic combination of stylish and cozy. There was a super helpful folder of local recommendations on what to see and do, as well as the best cafes and restaurants in town. Communication was easy and timely, check in was a breeze and Anthony was a welcoming host. If we’re ever back in Launceston we’d definitely stay here again!

    James2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had three nights at this stylish and comfortable studio. Access was streamlined via a key pad, and the thoughtfully designed studio is in a lovely old Launceston weatherboard, set in a beautiful garden. We were greeted warmly on Friday evening by August the young springer spaniel, and enjoyed every aspect of our stay - from the super comfortable bed, to the lovely walk-in shower, great wi-fi and streaming services, as well as a convenient location just out of the city. An added bonus was a Sunday morning walk on a nearby pathway along the scenic Tamar River.

    Jane2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and plenty of street parking. We loved the freshly baked bread - the smell of it was super welcoming when we stepped into the house and it was delicious! Overall, great place for a stop over with yummy food and attractions nearby.

    Alvin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was so stylish and set in beautiful gardens. It had everything we needed and more - we were very lucky to get fresh bread and eggs from the chickens for breakfast.

  • Anthony and Leeroy's space is lovely. So stylish and cozy. A basement unit that still feels airy and bright! The fresh bread was a lovely tough, as were the eggs. The garden was beautiful and I wish we had more time to enjoy it. As a basement unit it did have a bit of noise from movement upstairs but it didn't affect our stay. Thanks so much Anthony and Leeroy! Would definitely stay again!

  • Well, I am from India & we are used to big spaces. When I first reached Pod Inn around 3 pm in the afternoon, very honestly I got very petrified. But with each hour passing by, I started feeling very comfortable. The pods were extremely clean, the mattress & linen very comfortable, the washrooms were spotlessly clean & the staff was extremely cooperative. In fact by nightfall I had started enjoying my stay here at Pod Inn. I slept very well & by morning I was completely enjoying my stay. It was a first time unique kind of an experience & I am now looking forward for a chance to stay at Pod Inn again. & I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to my host Zac who went out of the way to help me with everything.

Susan’s home is located in Evandale, Tasmania, Australia. Evandale is a 20 minute drive from Launceston, 5 minutes to the airport and a convenient place to access the many Tamar Valley and Northern Midlands attractions. Evandale has many wonderful examples of colonial buildings. It hosts the "National Penny-Farthing Championships" each February, the "Glover Prize" for landscape art in March, and the "Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival" in October. The Evandale Market runs every Sunday with food, craft, produce and bricabrac. The Evandale Light Rail and Steam Society run miniature train rides on Sundays.
  • Peter and Susan have a wonderful place to stay at. They are welcoming and make you feel at home. The accommodation is super clean and comfortable with everything you need for a great stay. Excellent location in Evandale. Close to the airport for those early departures. Definitely recommended.

She also left us delicious home baked cookies and a loaf of bread for breakfast. About 5 min to the airport which was a plus for an early morning flight. Wish we had more time to spend at Sue's place! Thank you for everything!

Just a short drive to the city, nice walk to the Cataract Gorge through the bush track. We welcome longer stays. A few minutes drive to restaurants, and attractions of Launceston such as Boags brewery, St Johns Craft beer, Cider house, Queen Victoria Museum and Inveresk art precinct. Penny Royal Adventure is just at the bottom of the hill.
We are offering you a private room in our Character home. The double bed is comfortable and the bathroom is shared by guests. Lovely garden and peaceful location. A warm welcome and....a coffee machine!
The property is situated just a few minutes from the city centre. You can walk or drive. We are located at the top of the hill. The home is on the edge of the Cataract Gorge reserve which is a nice walk through the bush track. There is a convenience store just 10 minutes walk, the Woolworths and Coles supermarkets are a five minute drive.
  • It is a very nice place, close to the gorge. The house is beautiful and Gina is a phantastic host. She is friendly and allways willing to help. She knows a lot about the area and the animals....If I ever come back to Launceston, I know where to stay!

    Jo2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Gina and Tony’s place was great. The older home gave it a nice feel of what Launceston of yesteryear was like. Gina was also very helpful and letting me know what was going on in town and we even had fun hanging out at the market one night and listen to music. We had good conversation and I highly recommend The stay. It was very close to the gorge and to get downtown even by foot.

    Cheekong2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a well-furnished place with virtually everything one could need furnished. It has a spectacular view over Launceston, with an easy downhill walk into the city. Coming back, you will either need to have a car or use an Uber or taxi, as it would be a very demanding walk back up.

    John2018-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, easy access to the shops, easy check in and out

    Lahiru2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
