Luxurious and spacious apartment in Grade 2 mill on banks of Aire. Master bedroom, hand-crafted wooden 'sleigh' bed, large bathroom with free-standing bath; twin bedroom with en-suite shower room; open-plan living area; hand-crafted bespoke kitchen
Located in the tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this apartment is ideally located for walkers and cyclists. Close to the Pennine Way, Malham's spectacular cove and Yorkshire's Three Peaks, it is a comfortable and cosy base from which to explore this stunning area
Airton is a peaceful village set in the heart of Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a popular village store/farm shop and cafe which sells a good selection of basic provisions and local produce. Many of our guests have commented favourably on it. A public footpath leads through the mill's wetland garden and the Pennine Way, 100m walk from the apartment, can be seen from the main rooms. There is a never-ending variety of walks through the natural beauty of 'Calendar Girls' countryside. The area is popular with cyclists, walkers, horse-riders and climbers. You can ramble along the riverside to Malham's stunning cove, limestone pavement and tranquil tarn. During the summer months, there are numerous rural shows and music and art festivals. Museums, steam trains, ice-cream farm, falconry centre - the variety of activities ensures there will never be a dull moment, whatever the weather.
  • Beautiful apartment with lovely riverside views. Plenty of amenities that will surpass your expectations. Clean. Warm. Wonderful.

  • Jesca's home was beautiful and comfortable. The whole family enjoyed the scenic hiking trails just outside the home, the views from the back windows, the small quiet town, the country drive getting there, and the great Farm House grocery store and tea room. This is a stop I recommend if you are looking for special! Enjoyed our stay!!

  • Jesca’s place was perfect for our needs, spotless, well equipped, and in a beautiful location. Jesca was very easy to communicate with, our booking was at short notice, however the booking was completed promptly without fuss. Jesca’s customer standards are high. She informed me of a very minor omission from the advertised facilities. I would not have noticed and had I done so certainly not complained, such was my very favourable impression of her property. Nonetheless, without my bidding Jesca gave me a rebate to compensate my ‘inconvenience’. Quality service, highly recommended.

  • This place is a hidden gem. It has everything you need and is situated wonderfully in the Yorkshire Dales. Worth a visit to Malham Cove when staying. The place is well equipped with everything you should need. Spacious enough for 4 people. The beds were lovely and comfy. A tidy, clean and every amenity you need place. Jesca had milk for our arrival which was brilliant. Shampoo and shower gel is also provided. The place has dvds, board games and books to keep you busy. The neighbours are all so friendly and engaging. It’s a lovely community. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • Jane's place was just what we were looking for - warm, cosy and with everything we needed with fantastic walks on the doorstep and a farm shop around the corner. We loved the board games, books and piano too and we'd be happy there come rain or shine. My only regret was that we'd booked it for one night instead of a week. Next time I'll be sure to stay for longer. Many thanks Jane for your hospitality.

Our riverside cottage is on the River Aire in a quiet Yorkshire village near Skipton. It is a haven for wildlife and recently otters have been sighted in the river. Ideally placed for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. In addition to the river, Gargrave is on the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the Pennine Way. The village has two good pubs, a lovely tea room, a fish and chip shop, a local CoOp and several antique shops. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and anyone who enjoys a break in the country.
The cottage is near the village green and through an archway. Tea and coffee is provided.Small well behaved dogs are welcome. Please let us know if you intend to bring a canine friend. There is a returnable cleaning deposit of £20.
The Old Swan provides a friendly welcome and a good dining menu. There is a quaint tearoom and even an Indian restaurant. All are within easy walking distance.
  • Jeremy & Jacqui are great hosts! Their cottage was as described - peaceful and right on the river. We had a very comfortable stay and if we happen to be in Gargrave again, would absolutely come back to stay!

    Olivia2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Property is charming the hosts are very kind and the village has a nice buzz with good pubs and choices for eating and tons of walks on the doorstep- what is not to like

  • A cosy, very comfortable cottage with wonderful views across the river and countryside beyond. Great location for walking in the countryside and along the canal, with Malham and all the associated walks around there close at hand, accessed either by bus or your own car within about 15 or so minutes. Village has two good log fire dog friendly pubs. Our first time in Gargrave, and would recommend staying here.

    Mark Edwin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jeremy's place because we were attending a family Wedding at Coniston Hall - 5mins drive away. We found Jeremy and Jacqui to be most helpful and friendly hosts and the cottage clean, tastefully decorated and everything you need to be comfortable. We hope to return for a better exploration of the area which is peaceful and lovely. Thanks.

Beautifully renovated 18th century listed, self contained annexe with fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, large vaulted bedroom with exposed beams. Situated in the centre of Gargrave village near the river and on the edge of the rugged and beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park . Perfect for exploring the area, a stones throw from the Pennine Way, only 10 minutes walk from the train station and canal. Complimentary Au Lait toiletries. Well behaved doggies welcome.
Cosy open plan bespoke country kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and fridge, dining area and lounge with exposed stone walls and cobbled courtyard with parking to outside. Bespoke oak staircase takes you to stunning light and airy bedroom with exposed roof beams and ensuite marble bathroom
Gargrave really is in a great position, on the Pennine way and on the edge of the fabulous Dales but not too far away from anything you might need, even Michelin star restaurants (yes they do exist outside London !) For the antique hunters out there (and we love everything 18th century) there are three very good antique shops in Gargrave. There is a fantastic farm shop with fabulous meat and veg only 5 minutes away, and the best cheese shop ever, 20 mins up the road towards Cumbria which itself is only just over an hours drive. For those wishing to leave the cooking and get hot and spicy there is an award winning Indian restaurant only 4 doors away. For the gourmands we have some fantastic fine dining experiences close by, with the very nice Angel at Hetton (8 min drive) which has recently been taken over by 2 Michelin * chef Michael Wignall from Gidleigh Park, the superb Burlington at the Devonshire Arms Bolton Abbey (15 min drive and which deserves a Michelin * ! ) and the Michelin * White Swan a little further at Fence (30 min) . If you want to go down the traditional route there are two cracking real Yorkshire pubs serving good Yorkshire ale and pub food and a good fish and chip shop only a 5 minute stroll away. Fancy a good old English breakfast then we have a nice little cafe at the end of the road. The River Aire is just a stones throw where you can skip across the stepping stones and have a picnic by the river. We are not too far away from the beautiful Bolton Abbey (with super walks by the river), the Pendle witches, Bronte country and Boundary Mill for great bargains for the shopaholics !
  • The cottage is alot bigger than I thought. Especially the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The rooms are bright and cozy. Loved how the cottage is set up. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook. We went to the two pubs both great village pubs. We also had a Indian take away which was worth the money. Loved our stay so will you I am sure.

  • Alison's place is a wonderful base to explore Yorkshire Dales from, located on the Pennine Way. Alison was most helpful with maps on the local walks, handy telephone numbers, etc. The house is even better than advertised - there are many thoughtful touches like lovely toiletries, lots of board games and magazines for the cold evenings and very well done up interiors. A converted portion of their house, one gets the feeling that a lot of careful effort and love went into the design. Alison was very hospitable and kept in touch with us before, especially as our plans changed last minute. She was there in person to check us in and give us a warm welcome. Our only regret is that we had to cut our trip short and could not stay longer. Really hoping to be back some day.

    Ekta2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • A well equipped place with everything you will need. Easy off-road parking. Some nice touches including toiletries, teas and choccie biscuits. Excellent welcome pack with suggestions of places to visit and where to eat. Good location for us to explore the Dales. Close to Skipton and a short walk to a Co-op, the river and canal. If you're light sensitive, be aware the daylight comes through the bathroom rooflight into the bedroom.

    Andrew2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • As always another great stay. Lovely place to stay.

    Tina2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at Alison's place. On arrival, Keith and Alison were very hospitable and gave us some great ideas of things to do in the local area. The house is absolutely stunning and there are loads of little extras which make it just really well thought out and special. The local area is absolutely stunning and we can't wait to come back and explore some more! Would highly recommend.

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay.

    Tina2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely welcome from Alison in a cold and wet day. The annex looked welcoming and Alison had put side lights on to make it look cosy and warm. The decor is beautiful and finished to a high spec. Everything that you need is provided as well as little extras to give that finishing touch. Highly recommend a visit.

Crag Wood View has everything you could need for your stay in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The tiny house is comprised of a garden room (bedroom/living room), next to which is a SEPARATE building housing the kitchen/shower room. The house is situated in a private, secluded and quiet area behind our home in a garden that attracts wildlife all year round. Blinds are pulled down over the two windows at the rear of our house ensuring complete privacy for both hosts and guests during your stay.
A totally one-off type of self-catering accommodation with a modern and minimal set up, yet still retaining a traditional and cosy vibe. Very quirky and original. Easy to walk around, use and enjoy, as all guest areas are on ground level. We are fortunate to live on the edge of the village, which is so much quieter than the centre - only a 5 minute walk when you need something, but peace, quiet and relaxation when you don't! The tiny house has a fully fitted and modern kitchen with all of the equipment you could ever need for dining, including a Cafetière for that important morning coffee. The property is ideal for longer stays as there is a massive freezer and two fridges for storing lots of food/drink as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer to keep on top of your laundry. We have Netflix and Freeview TV available on a flat screen ‘smart’ TV for guests to enjoy during their stay as well as free Wi-Fi to use, playing cards and board game. For those who enjoy listening to the radio we have a DAB radio alarm clock with USB charging ports (as well as a multi-plug extension lead with USB charging ports). You can also pick up many radio stations on the TV as well as plenty of apps including YouTube. The TV also has ports for plugging in either a USB stick or external hard drive if you like to bring your own entertainment with you when you travel. Also provided are portable and waterproof bluetooth speakers for you to connect to and use, perfect for listening to in the shower room, whilst cooking in the kitchen or out in the garden. There is a gym that is only a 5 minute walk (0.2 miles) away from the tiny house (£5 for a day pass or £20 for a weekly pass), a Co-Op supermarket for all of your essentials, pharmacy, dentists, 3 pubs in the village offering excellent food and drink, a fantastic Fish & Chip shop (which is a takeaway and a restaurant combined), an Indian restaurant and the cyclist's favourite -> The Dalesman Cafe and Sweet Emporium, who offer breakfasts (including a full English), lite bites and many, many old fashioned sweets as well as their famous 'Flat Rascal'! (As seen on C5's 'Celebrity Britain by Barge'). In the village we also have a couple of hairdressers, a florists, antique shops, clothes shop, a bicycle repair shop and a tandem bicycle shop. We're only 3 miles away from The Coniston Hotel and so an ideal place for wedding guests to stay or for anybody visiting the Coniston for any of their events or wishing to use their spa facilities - they offer a great 4x4 'off-road' experience which we would highly recommend having a go at! We're 4 miles away from the market town of Skipton (very direct and easy to get to by private or public transport) with its wonderfully preserved medieval Castle, eclectic mix of shops, markets, swimming pool, cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, supermarkets and vintage Plaza Cinema. Crag Wood View is a great place to stay, the perfect base for a visit to the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, the Lake District or industrial West Yorkshire. You won't find anywhere else quite like it!
Gargrave is a peaceful village on the edge of the Dales, surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful countryside, a typically Yorkshire rural retreat with friendly locals, amazing 'Instagram worthy' scenery and an expansive network of cycling roads, public footpaths and walkways for you to enjoy.
  • This house is a lovely place with great hosts! We highly recommend staying there!

  • As one superhost to another thanks very much for going the extra mile that we as superhosts do ! We loved our stay with you. It was great to spend time chatting and thanks for the meal recommendation, The Old Swan Inn is lovely. Your house is welcoming, sparkling clean, stylish and has all the facilities we needed, as well as many little unexpected luxuries. We loved the shower room and the breakfast room, which we also spent time in before and after we went out to eat. Please carry on doing just what you do, as it's fab ! We will definitely come back when we're in the area and will tell others to come too.

    Sarah2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit was just a weekend but the location is great whether you want to visit Skipton, the attractions of this part of Yorkshire or for local walking. We parked outside but even if you drive a van there is a free car park very close by. We stayed in the White room which was fine for a couple and with a very good modern shower room just for our use next door while the other room is en-suite. It was very comfortable, very tastefully decorated by the host, Carol and sparklingly clean. Downstairs there is a tiny corner room with a mini fridge for guests to use if you want to keep something chilled or want to make a hot drink and for breakfast there is a separate dining room. There was juice and cereals available for self service and Carol makes a really good full English breakfast adapted for vegetarians if you ask. It turns out that two of Carol’s children are vegetarian and one is vegan so rest assured you won’t have any problem and I commented on the extra effort she had put into making mine with a really thoughtful touch to make it more enjoyable. Those thoughtful touches sum things up, any Air BnB can be clean, modern and have good amenities but it’s the host that makes it super and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here - Carol is a super host.

Our spacious and characterful Victorian end terrace sites in an enviable position in the heart of the pretty village of Airton, just 2.5 miles from Malham. There is a farm shop and tea rooms just a short walk from the front door, which featured in the BBC 2 "Top of the shops" series with Tom Kerridge, which offers a range of good quality produce and wonderful meals. There are great walks from the front door in every direction (the Pennine Way is 100 yards from the house).
The rooms are very light and spacious due to the high ceiling and large windows. Every window has a great view.
It's a lovely peaceful place to live especially in the early morning and evening. The views constantly remind you of the Dales natural beauty

We were there for a wedding and it was perfectly located for the venue and also in absolutely stunning surroundings so very lovely to wake up to in the morning. Sleeps 6 adults comfortably as long as 2 don’t mind squeezing into a smaller room which we didn’t! Would highly recommend!

She showed me to my cosy single room and talked me through the house. The whole how was so warm and bright. The place was spotless! I was also made to feel very comfortable by Gill. She had brilliant tips on nightlife as I was only there for the evening. Not only that but she had a small selection of treats for breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend staying with Gill. 10/10 host, 10/10 service, 10/10 location. Thank you and hopefully I’ll be back again!

Situated within the Weaving Shed of an attractive former textile mill, on the Pennine Way in North Yorkshire. The small village of Lothersdale is in a rural valley; five miles from Skipton and on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We can offer bike use, trout fishing in the local stream (in season) and there are numerous country walks. The nearby towns of Skipton and Haworth are popular tourist destinations.
Shed End is an attractive private space on the edge of this compact village. Guests can use adjacent an adjacent meadow and attached yard. The property features period details and underfloor heating. Shed End is part of a wider scheme to convert this 18th century textile mill to residential and commercial use. The Great Wheel is reputedly the largest indoor water wheel in the world.
Lothersdale is a small rural village, typical of the traditional Yorkshire Pennines. There has been very little modern development. We are right on the Pennine Way, along-distance hiking route. We provide info about things to do, including walks, visits and local activities. The nearest small towns are Crosshills and Earby, Skipton (with a castle and other tourist attractions) and Colne are about 5 miles away. The tourist towns of Haworth, Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough are about 45-minutes' drive away.

Lawrence welcomed us upon our arrival, and gave a quick guided tour of the accommodation, which is absolutely brilliant for the money. Lovely touches with the welcome pack, containing snacks, milk, breakfast cereals, and prosecco. The cafe, which Lawrence and his lovely wife, Gill, run below, serves great breakfasts, and their carrot cake was devine! It's everything you need for a nice break in god's own county. We were a small family, 2 adults, 1 teenager, and a dog, and we had enough room to spread about. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The buck Inn, is literally steps away, and the Lister arms and beck hall ( secret garden), not much further. We weren't blessed with great weather, but still managed a few short walks. Malham cove is stunning, and only a mile away. Thank you Lawrence and Gill!

  • A fantastic place in the perfect location for Malham adventures. Would recommend to anyone!

    Karl2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we could give 10 stars for location! Stayed at Lawrence's place while we did the 'Julia Bradbury' walk. The Old Barn apartment was perfectly situated for the start and end of the circular walk and is right in the centre of Malham, close to the two pubs and smithy. The accommodation is clean and cosy and was definitely a home from home, with milk and biscuits left for us so we could have a welcome cuppa. We will definitely return in the summer and would recommend the Old Barn without reservation.

  • Perfect, exactly what we were looking for and lovely welcoming touches by Lawrence. We were 4 adults, an 8 month old baby and dog and we had all the space we needed. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

We have our own croft , which is accessible from the accommodation , and is perfect for allowing your dog to have a bit of freedom , or if you want to make use of it to sunbathe , relax , play or just paddle in the stream. There are many lovely walks straight from the door step, which can incorporate some of the local pubs from nearby villages. Carleton itself has a lovely modern country pub The Swan Inn , which is dog friendly , is approx 3 min walk and serves some really excellent food . It serves food every day 12-9pm.
  • Beautiful, contemporary place with lots of lovely extra touches making guests feel very welcome. Mel and Jason are wonderful hosts. The apartment was sparkling clean and the amenities second to none. Our dog had a wonderful time, lots of space and playing with Mel and Jason’s dogs. Great location within a short stroll to a lovely pub (Swan Inn) where we were made very welcome. The welcome groceries were a real treat.

  • Lovely home in a scenic setting! Only a 5 minute drive to skipton town and a cosy and warm home with heated flooring which was lush. Me and my partner were so content we ended up staying in and watching Netflix on the wide screen TV snuggled up in the livingroom with the dog! No regrets! Just what we needed! Great base if visiting skipton town!

  • What a stunning home! So cosy and welcoming. I stayed with my dogs for one night and found it to be absolute bliss! So quiet at night too! Loved the gated area, very secure for my pups, so I felt quite happy letting them out. Some wonderful little touches - the flowers were stunning, thank you! So much more than I expected, would stay again!

Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales right on the Pennine way. The ground floor apartment overlooks the River Aire and has amazing views across the river and beyond. There are excellent walk/cycle routes right on the door step. Malham is a 2.5 mile walk along the river. Both guest bedrooms are clean and comfortable. 1 has an ensuite shower room and there is a family bathroom with shower. Both the kitchen and bathrooms are new (June 2017).
Welcome to our comfortable, ground floor apartment in the Grade II listed former Airton mill. Airton is a small village in the Yorkshire Dales 9 miles NW of Skipton (The Gateway to the Dales). The apartment has just finished a major conversion (June 2017) which includes a new kitchen, ensuite shower room and family bathroom and new heating throughout. The mill has communal gardens, a BBQ area and access to 'Frank's Land' which is a pretty wildflower meadow alongside the river. The location is gorgeous and is definitely the best place to be on a sunny day. In summer the river is ideal for young children to play in (supervised of course) and it even has its own 'beach' on the other side of it. It's also ideal for the less energetic to relax and watch all the wildlife on the river and in the field opposite. For the more energetic there are numerous breathtaking walks and bike rides right from the door step. The Pennine Way actually crosses along the other side of the river. Some of the Dales most popular sites like Malham Cove, Malham Tarn, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar are all within walking distance (3 miles). The nearest shop is the excellent farm shop and tea room which is a 5/10 minute walk. There is a good pub 2 miles away in Kirby Malham.
  • What a lovely place to stay. The river running by the front door was crystal clear and babbling. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped for our stay. A lovely surprise to find a Christmas bottle of Prosecco and biscuit box to greet us. We'll definitely try and book again when we next come to visit our Yorkshire based relatives.

  • A spacious, sparkling clean apartment in a great location! Sarah is a great host and she had thought of lots of extras to leave that are really handy! There was also a really good collection of games and toys for rainy days. The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and in good working order and there was plenty of space throughout the apartment. Thank you for a lovely holiday! 😊

  • Sarah's appartment is a great place to stay. It has everything you need for a stay in the Yorkshire Sales. The location itself is beautiful and there are many great hikes within close proximity. Sarah responds quickly and provides accurate information.

  • Beautiful location, so many great walks and sights within a reasonable distance. Sarah is a great host too.

  • Fantastic place, with very thoughtful touches. A lot of toys for children (though that was reducing space for own clothes in the one bedroom). However the flat it spacious and offers a great base for exploring parts of the Yorkshire Dales. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I can highly recommend it. Sarah was very helpful when we realised that we’ve left something behind and acted as communicator between us and the new guests. Thank you so much.

A unique and eclectic loft conversion in the heart of the quiet village of Carleton, 1.5 miles outside the popular market town of Skipton, 'Gateway to the Dales'. Offering seclusion, privacy and comfort, this is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Carleton has a pub, a social club, a village store, a Post Office, a pharmacy, and direct bus links to Skipton during the week. The Pennine Way crosses the top of Carleton Moor and sections of 2014 Tour de France are on the doorstep.
The Loft is a third floor apartment, comprising a spacious living room with a smart TV including its own Netflix log in and DVD player, a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, secondary WC, bedroom, and private outdoor terrace. The apartment is very light and airy during the day; extremely cosy on a night, and at its best on a summer day when the terrace comes into its own, which is accessed directly from both the living room and bedroom.
A beautiful village in the Yorkshire Dales with a great sense of community.
  • Brilliant stay, the flat is as described - very modern and a lovely space. The communication throughout was great. Lovely area to explore.

    Emma2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie was a wonderful host, providing us with instant responses and helping greatly with info about the weather and flooding round the village. The place is lovely, very clean and modern. Even has it's own Netflix login! And the location is fantastic for popping into the dales for walks. The village pub is across the street. We would definitely stay there again. It has all the kitchen and utility facilities needed (oven, hob, toaster etc and dishwasher, washing machine etc.). All in all, a fantastic place to stay.

    Alex2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

The flat overlooks the Leeds/Liverpool canal. A relaxing place to sit and watch the boats and wildlife on the water with easy access to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Only a 15 minute walk on the towpath takes you to Skipton with its abundance of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars as well as the famous market which is held 4 days a week. An early check-in and/or a late check-out can be arranged subject to availability. Netflix is accessible with my log-in details - no need for our own.
There is a drop leaf table and 4 dining chairs for a better dining experience. For maximum comfort the sofa bed is only really suitable for one adult or two children - although some guests choose to use it for 2 adults.
There are plenty of walks directly from the flat - 20/30 minutes walk along the canal towpath to Skipton Castle Woods. The Boathouse Bar in the canal basin is our favourite watering hole and the Sound Bar is brilliant for music and a vibrant atmosphere. Lots of choice for good restaurants and take-aways. Tesco, Morrisons, M&S food hall and Aldi are all nearby as well as a plethora of independent bakeries and butchers shops. Lots more information in the flat.
  • Maureen’s place is located close to the train station and is great value for money. Excellent facilities which are very clean. The sitting room has a lovely view of the canal and had adequate seating for the family. Despite the miserable weather we had a great walk to Skipton town centre, the Castle and woods. Altogether a great place for a little getaway!

  • This apartment is fabulous with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and much more besides. The place is ideally located in a quiet cul de sac - just a short, level walk into town (in daylight you can take the canal towpath all the way). It is beautifully furnished, modern, cosy and spotlessly clean. The lounge has a picture window looking out onto the canal with beautiful views across open countryside. It has private off-road parking which is a bonus. We were truly impressed by this lovely apartment and the warm welcome extended by Maureen. We hope to be back soon.

  • Cold outside when we stayed at the lodge but nice and cosy in the lodge. Philip showed us around the lodge on arrival. Nice welcome pack, milk in fridge, tea and coffee. Comfy sofa and bed. Shower is fab. Everywhere very clean. Good location between Skipton and Grassington. We enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Thanks

  • Phillips spacious and incredibly comfortable home is just outside of Skipton giving you quick access to the gorgeous town as well as a leaping off point for the Dales and beyond! Phillip gave me some superb tips on where to walk, and his place has everything you need to unwind and relax after a days walking. Would absolutely stay again!

    Hannah2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with access to the great walks in the area. Fully functional kitchen and all mod cons. Great shower and a wonderfully comfy bed. Phil was very welcoming and gave us a full tour of the cottage and answered any questions we had.

    Daniel2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little gem just outside of Skipton. Phil and Vicki were great hosts and were very accommodating with any requests we had, mostly saving our morning bacon butties when we forgot to pick up some ketchup.

    Stuart2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The welcome was great and the property was clean and comfortable, great for a weekend break.

The 1855 Wash House is a studio cottage, located within a minutes walk from Skipton High Street. It is on one level apart from one step down into the kitchen. The studio is situated at the rear of a Victorian terrace within the owners garden. There is an outdoor flagged area for guests with sheltered seating for 2. There is a permit parking space at the front of the cottage. Several early morning opening cafes are close by and Marks and Spencers Simply food is just around the corner.
The studio is in a fantastic location right in the heart of Skipton with easy access to all fascilities, yet is safe and quiet at night. It is warm and comfortable with a small but stylish kitchen and bathroom.
There is a great mix of residential properties, shops cafes and bars within the neighbourhood. The medieval castle, church, canal and woods are only a few minutes walk away.
  • The Wash House is a wonderful, relaxing space in the centre of Skipton yet very quiet. A beautifully furnished studio with lots of nice touches that makes it feel a real home from home.

    Charlotte2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage, and a fantastic host!

    Joe2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy and quirky place to stay, as well as being absolutely spotless; the location could not be more convenient. It is located right in the town centre yet not noisy and not lots of people waking past. This makes it a convenient space with allocated parking very useful. We were therefore able to go out to eat at night without having to drive or take a taxi, everything was less than 5 minutes walk away. I would recommend this place to my friends, not only The Wash House ,but Skipton is a great place and a great base for trips further afield.

    Katie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at The Wash House was perfect- we will return again! It is so comfortable and well equipped and we love being in the centre of Skipton and yet close to beautiful Wharfedale.

    Mark2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an intimate, cosy and tasteful getaway in the heart of a wonderful town then The Wash House is for you. The host has a wonderful eye for detail.

Bamboo is a light and airy 4 berth, 44 foot narrowboat moored in a tranquil setting on the Leeds/Liverpool canal - ideal for visits to the nearby Yorkshire Dales or Forest of Bowland. Modern yet cosy, Bamboo is a home from home that offers the perfect getaway for romantics, those seeking something a little different and small families who like trees, ducks and water!
Come on board and let's take a look round. Our tour starts with Bamboo's lovely stern deck with bistro chairs and table - just right for a relaxing meal on a summer's evening. Step through the hatch/doorway, down three steps and you're into the double bedroom with storage drawers below and clothes hanging space and cupboards above. Going forward, past the bathroom with shower, flush toilet, washbasin and cupboard space, we come to the well-equipped galley (kitchen) with gas cooker and fridge (with small freezer compartment). Beyond lies the open plan dining area and lounge with wood burning stove, LCD TV/DVD player, Huawei 4G mobile router, mobile Bluetooth speaker and portable FM radio. The cosy L-shaped sofa converts into a comfortable double bed. Finally, french doors lead out onto the bow deck seating area - perfect for a leisurely cup of coffee or glass of wine. Bamboo has hot/cold running water and, should it get a little chilly, the central heating system will keep you warm. Bamboo benefits from a 240 volt hook up so you can use laptops or charge your tablet. There is a designated parking space approximately 5 minutes walk from Bamboo along an unmetalled road. Guests are welcome to bring their cars alongside Bamboo to load or unload but are politely asked to return them to the parking area as soon as possible.
Bamboo is moored on the Leeds/Liverpool canal in a quiet, relaxed marina on the outskirts of the friendly market town of Barnoldswick. The boat looks out on rolling hills and woodland. Ducks and swans are regular visitors and deer can often be seen in the fields opposite. Bird watchers will find a variety of songbirds to interest them and the canal boasts plenty of bream and perch for those keen on fishing. The nearest pub, the Anchor Inn, is a 15 minute walk down the towpath. Barnoldswick itself is situated in the Pennine hills on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border and is perfectly placed for visits to the nearby Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It also has wonderful walking county of its own - the view from the heather moorland of Weets Hill is one of the best in the country. The Pennine cycle way passes through the town and the Pennine bridleway is a five minute walk down the towpath. Skipton, with its famous castle, bars and bustling street market is less than ten miles away and, for those who appreciate good food, Lancashire's top gastropubs are nearby.
  • The discription of this place is as it reads . peaceful spotless and to a high standard . We will definitely return.

  • Had a fantastic few days in Bamboo! Certainly a novel experience. Would recommend if you're after something a little bit different. You can tell Nick and Catherine take pride in making your stay a pleasant one and even left fresh scones for our arrival. If you are looking for a walk it's not to far to drive to Malham for a walk around Goredale Scar and Malham Cove.

    Daniel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay in Bamboo, they left us some home made Scones which were amazing! Very cosy little Narrowboat with everything you need, comfortable bed and an amazing touch of a wood burner which made it that bit better! Would recommend to anyone for a cosy weekend away!

    Rachel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little boat. Very cosy! Stunning setting with swans and ducks visiting. There are lovely walks you can do down the tow path. We woke up one morning to frost and the canal was frozen over! It was really very beautiful.

    Sophie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A great getaway for a couple of nights. We were greeted by a bottle of Prosecco which was very welcome. Despite staying in the last days of December we were warm and very comfortable aboard. There are lots of local shops which we used to self cater and the kitchen and utensils were more than up to the job. I will hopefully revisit in the summer. Ideal for cycling around the hills of Lancashire

    Luke2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a one of a kind holiday.. I have never stayed in a boat house before and it was perfect.. it had all the comforts of a normal house yet had the slight up and down movement of the water.. the swans and ducks came every morning to say good morning.. the town Barnoldswick is close by for anything you want to buy.. Catherine was a perfect host always ready to answer any query we had.. They had also left plenty of suggestions for nearby sight seeing.. All in all it was one perfect holiday! I would definitely recommend it for a romantic stay out of the usual!

    Jeana2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • It poured rain for the whole time we were there but it was not an issue as Bamboo is really comfortable and cosy. Everything was explained really clearly which made our stay easier since we hadn't stayed on a narrowboat before. Catherine and Nicholas even left mince pies for us :)

    Sofia2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much to Nick & Catherine for a delightful stay on Bamboo. We have never stayed on a houseboat before, but really enjoyed the experience. Communication and check-in was perfect, Bamboo was spotlessly clean and there were few thoughtful touches that really made the difference. We went to the local anchor inn just up the canal for food and it was delicious. Cheers!

King sized bed with beautiful new en-suite. Charming and stylish converted barn in a beautiful location. Set on the Pennine Way, yards away from the picturesque Leeds Liverpool canal, ideal for peace and quiet, visiting the Dales, cyclists and walkers.
Peaceful location, ideal for walkers and cyclists. There is a second room available at the property (see White room in Yorkshire Barn), so great if you are travelling with friends or family. Secure garage to keep bikes safe overnight. Great for a stopover on the way to the Lakes or the Yorkshire dales.
The barn is so close to the canal, you can walk or sit and watch the pretty barges quietly going along. There are lots of walks in the area, including the Pennine Way, which is only seconds away. The river Aire is only a few minutes walk and you can stroll beside it, some people have picnics there and children paddle along the edge. The village has an excellent fish and chip shop, a couple of pubs that serve food, a co op, two tea rooms, a church and a station that can take you either towards Leeds or Carlisle.
  • Fantastic host with a gorgeous house in an even nicer quiet village

    Gracie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is a wonderful host and very helpful. The place is spotless and a perfect base to explore the area.

    Ramon2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol has been very good host, and our morning very good with a nice chat about coffee and trips and brought us in her kitchen eager to learn and sharing knowledge about her food passion. Room and home was spotless and breakfasts good! If ever back in the area we know that we can trust her. :)

  • Five stars. Would stay again.

    Kieran2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Carols place is lovely, in a great location...handy for local amenities. Great hospitality, delicious breakfast, and lovely touch with scones, jam and cream...and perfect having the Dales on your doorstop.

    Tony2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is fantastic. I stayed at Carole’s place for a bit of relaxation before a work day. Carol not only has the most beautiful house with an exceptional bed (seriously- I didn’t want to get up), and a fantastic style throughout the king size room- but she is a fantastic host who takes care of every little detail. I cannot praise Carol enough for our wonderful stay.

    Alexandria2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Carol offers great hospitality, with clean quiet rooms, a great breakfast in a very nice location with handy shops & pubs walking distance away.

    Thelma2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is an excellent and accommodating host. Check in was greeted with a warm welcome and the king sized room was better than we expected, with a recently refurbished en-suite bathroom. The bed was really comfy, and the area is quiet for a good nights sleep, set within a lovely countryside village. The breakfast provided was the same excellent standard. Our only regret is that we spent just the one night there, but hopefully we can visit again for future breakaways in the Dales. Highly recommended.

The Granary is set in the quiet village of Carleton just 2 miles from Skipton and was built in 2012 from Yorkshire stone to create an annexe to the original farmhouse, Ivy Cottage Farm. Sadly no longer a working farm, Ivy Cottage Farm is an original 17th Century Dales longhouse with open countryside to the rear and views of the hills. There are some lovely local walks from your doorstep and the village itself has a local pub serving; village shop/off license, and regular bus service into town.
The Granary is a stylish, one bedroomed apartment/annexe, newly refurbished with underfloor heating. It is all on one level with just 3 steps from the communal entrance hall to its internal front door and has a very stylish and contemporary interior. The open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area has wonderful high ceilings with exposed wooden trusses and bi-folding doors look out and lead to the south facing, private decked patio where you have views of the garden, hills and countryside. In the one bedroom, the beds can be arranged either as twin beds or together to form a comfortable superking bed. This cosy little pad is ideal for couples and provides a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town. Skipton is very accessible from Carleton and is just a 5-minute drive away or easy level walk across open fields or by following the pavemented route along the road. Carleton itself has a few amenities; with the village pub, local store/off-licence, serving groceries, newspapers etc and is open 7 days a week; a phamacy and a Post Office. The village also has a regular bus service, Monday to Friday, for those who want to leave the car behind.
Carleton is a lovely rural village with stunning views across the valley into Skipton known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. It is very typically Yorkshire and the fields surrounding the village are often full with sheep and cattle. The hills and moors which surround the village make a very colourful and scenic backdrop.
  • This is my favourite Air BnB that I’ve stayed in. Everything is brilliant from start to finish. Sally thinks of everything. The information she sends a week in advance is so helpful. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and amazingly stylish with every modern convenience you could imagine. Great location too and great tips for local eateries etc. We have already booked our return visit.

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Granary was absolutely perfect. The space is ideal for a weekend (or an even longer) trip, and the location is perfect to explore both Skipton and further up the Dales. It was very easy to move around (walk, car, taxi - and even Uber!) and at the same time you get the peace and quiet one would expect from a small Yorkshire town. The cottage had everything we needed - it was stylish, modern, fully equipped, and very cosy. We loved it so much that we are already planning on our next visit!

    Pili2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at The Granary, the accommodation is lovely and is spotlessly clean. It was well equipped with everything we needed and Sally was a really welcoming and helpful host. Would definitely recommend.

  • Everything that has been said about this holiday let is absolutely right spotlessly clean, stylish beautifully situated, and run by people who go the extra mile to make you feel at home,we will be back.

  • A great stay, your place is lovely and the pictures definitely don’t do it justice. Very well designed space with lots of personal touches. The vaulted ceilings make the place spacious, fresh and airy. I really liked the quality of the bed, bedding, towels, sofa, recliner sofas, electric fire, TV functionally (air drop to phone). Very approachable hosts and accommodating for our situation with a Young infant. Would definitely recommend!

A 'magical' little place that hugs you as soon as you walk through the door. Traffic-free location with parking for 2/3 cars, priceless! Great base for walking, cycling & perfect jumping-off spot for Yorkshire Dales, Pendle Hill, Ribble Valley & Bowland and Bronte Country. Earby is right on Yorks/Lancs border (disputed!) the Pennine Way is 1 mile, Pendle Way 200 metres. 2015 TOB 'King of The Mountain' stage is 2 mins ride. Co-op, village shops, cafes, chippy, takeaways, pubs & curry house.
Spoiler - it's not a cottage! It may be cute, "cottagey" even ... but it's still just a terrace. Just so you know. And it's not a show-house, I've gone for more of a 'lived-in' look, one which has taken 12 years of minimal effort since I gutted the place. As for it's curious name there's a clue in the pictures and a few more in my profile...
All the shops are within 5 mins walk. The Co-op is open til 10pm and there are proper village shops like butchers, greengrocers, bakery, couple of caffs, a launderette, pensions adviser and an emporium of bridal apparel (bit expensive but, you know, each to her own). 4 pubs, of which the Red Lion's deffo your best bet for real ale.
  • Such a special place. Warm, cosy, so creatively decorated, welcoming, sparkling clean. Log burner laid ready to light. Candles, lamps, and even fresh coffee and plunger. Beautiful view from bedroom window. Would recommend 100%!

    Harry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ian's is a really cosy, tidy house. He is friendly, generous and hospitable. Highly recommended.

    Nathan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A very cute and cosy stay. We didn’t experience any factory noise as mentioned in the description. It had everything we needed. Both of us and our two children enjoyed it very much.

    Dean2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. Ian is an excellent host and his home is lovely. The place was super clean and tidy, but also had a really cosy, warm, homely feel to it. The area is lovely and we went on a lovely walk to find a "Roman Fort". We would definitely stay in Ian's place again.

    Carly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem, as is its host, Ian. Cosy, stylish, comfortable, a bit quirky; and literally everything thought of.. the stove was lit and on a wintry night it was a sanctuary.. Ian’s got a great sense of humour and comms were great.. Highly recommended

    Ralph2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect from the minute you walk through the door - special little touches throughout the house were delightful - impeccably clean, Ian even had the fire ready just to put a match to for us - my family loved our stay here - we felt welcome and cosy on a blustery winters day the minute we walked in. Host Ian was great - helped with all local area info required and kept in touch at all times - we didn’t want to leave and will be back to stay again as soon as we can - massive thank you Ian x
