You can cycle to town from your location and also cycle right around Strangford lough if feeling adventurous ! • Amazing little place on a stunning location. Spotlessly clean, could not fault one bit!

  • Had a lovely night staying here with my girlfriend. Gorgeous little studio house, with stunning sea views, perfect for a couple's getaway. The house was very on-trend with its furnishing; light and airy, lots of plants, and nice finishing touches like books and coffee! Marty and Chris have put together a great guest book with tips for the house and ideas for places to visit nearby, which was really helpful. Overall, a fantastic stay here as we started our drive up the Coastal Causeway in Northern Ireland. We wished we could have stayed longer!!

  • Beautiful tiny home right on the lough shore. The place was spotless and loved the decor. Plenty of books and little games to play - perfect to relax and wind down. Would definitely come back again :)

  • Stylish, fun stay to be had at Brent Cove. Well placed for the Ards Peninsula and surrounding area! Hosts were super accommodating with replies to queries and offering extra suggestions for our stay.

    Monique2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully situated little place, with all the amenities we needed for our one night stay. My wife and I were celebrating our second anniversary, and my wife loved the location, the views were beautiful. Marty & Chris were great hosts and provided instant responses and were super helpful. One thing, if you’re a very light sleeper be conscious that you may hear the passing traffic.

  • This little slice of heaven is immaculate! Marty and Chris are exceptional hosts and would highly recommend this spot.

  • If you're lucky enough to find Janet's place available to book, snap it up quick! The home is adorable, comfortable and a perfectly situated base point for your plans. Janet is a well experienced and lovely host - if she could own a home in every future destination I plan to visit that would be great. ;) I read many reviews before booking, and all the glowing ones are totally accurate. Check in was super flexible and Janet answered all questions I had before arriving almost immediately, and checked in via email while we were there just to ensure we were ok and had all we needed. We brought our family dog too who is always part of our holidays, and it was easy to take her outside especially with the gorgeous views of the abbey and church right across the street. Some reviews mentioned road noise and I suppose you'd notice it during the day, but we brought a table fan of our own (and of course Janet supplied one too!) we usually use at home for white noise and it wasn't an issue at all. I'm a fairly light sleeper so that's saying something. The only improvement imaginable is to come back during the summer when the flowers will be in total bloom and the patio furniture would get some use in the sun. :) If we find ourselves back in that area in the future, I'd definitely book this place again!

  • Great spot! We spent the two nights after our wedding and Janet was very thoughtful. Right in the heart of Greyabbey and a really stylish space. The only one downside is the road is quite noisy at times. But it didn't bother us too much.

  • Thanks so much Janet. We loved our wee stay in lilac Tree. Everything was as we needed and the cottage is very funky. You’ve done a lovely job. Your touches of wine, crisps and chocolate were so thoughtful. More than we ever got when just married and on honeymoon in the nicest of hotels. Janet couldn’t have done more to be a great host and we appreciated being able to work away and enjoy the break just ourselves. A great wee getaway and so close to beautiful areas. Mount Stewart is an excellent place to visit and only 5minutes away :)

  • We had a really lovely family stay at all the cottages. Perfect place for a quiet get away.

    Ruth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning property and the large, enclosed garden is great for kids. It really has the wow factor when you walk through the door. Janet was a super host. Faultless.

  • A chance to get away with family including our (almost) two year old. It's such a beautiful space to relax and just enjoy each other's company. A fantastic garden for our daughter to run around and enjoy the slide and the swing. And there are such beautiful places around on the Ards peninsula you don't need to go far to enjoy a walk on the beach. And the little touches from Janet like a little teddy in our duaghter's cot immediately made you feel at home.

    Andrew2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage with a spectacular view and garden.

    Matthew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I booked these cottages for the bridal party as I was getting married at Orangetree house. They looked beautiful in the pictures but were somehow even better in real life. The living room of the annex was so spacious with lovely light coming in and a great view of the garden. Everyone has commented on how gorgeous the cottages look in our photos. Janet herself was amazing. She happily let us check in early which saved a lot of stress and even left us a welcome gift. These must be the best accommodation in Greyabbey. I will be recommending them to everyone!

    Ruth2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everyone loved their stay, the cottage lived up to all expectations. Would definitely recommend.

    Ben2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We'd wholeheartedly recommend Janet's cottage. It is stylish, spacious and very comfortable. It was a great place to relax in the evenings when we were at home with our baby. The garden is glorious, a really big space that we enjoyed exploring. We really appreciate the thought that Janet and Ken out into making us feel welcome at the cottage. They were very helpful, friendly and responsive both before and during our stay. We know the area well, and found the cottage an excellent base. It is right by the abbey, and there are good cafes and take-away in the village a very short walk away. The property had everything we needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We hope to return.

Evelyn communication everything about checking in, with someone to greet us and show us about. We got tips on local restaurants that night and ate like kings there at the Ardmore in the morning... everyone was so kind and helpful. Thank you Evelyn for making it a lovely start to our holiday! ❤️

  • We came to this Airb&b to attend a wedding at Grey Abbey, it was so convenient and only about 3/5 minutes drive away. The apartment was a good size for 4 adults. It was clean and comfortable although freezing when we arrived, although a fire had been lit. Soon turned up the heating and was toasty within a short time. Lovely location so quiet and beautiful views. Would recommend it especially as Pamela got us some shopping in as we were arriving so late, so had breakfast sorted!!

  • An amazing place to stay. We have 2 grandchildren age 2 and 5 years old and our 7 year old daughter who has a form of cerebral palsy, which finding a place to stay can be challenging for us because of her complex needs. The cottage had everything you could ask for, very clean and homely, with a secluded garden where the children can go and play. Naomi is such a lovely hostess and we felt very welcomed , the children were allowed to help feed the calves which our grandson absolutely enjoyed! The children were sad to leave and our daughter who finds it hard to stay in a strange place wants to go back, she calls it her 'holiday home'. Would fully recommend staying at the cottage as it is an ideal location for some amazing site seeing.

  • We are a family of five that travel full-time. We had the opportunity to spend a month at Ash Cottage and feel within a month you really have the opportunity to really see the pros and cons of a place. Naomi and her family are so kind. We absolutely loved getting to know them during our stay. The cottage was amazing. We had everything we needed to cook and live as if we would be in our own home. We felt like it was so cozy and the back yard was one of my kids favorite. They have plants of different sorts which brings birds and butterflies. She has a table set outside so it's relaxing for a cup of tea. We had the opportunity to see how life was on the farm and that to was just a great experience. The area has so many things to offer for all ages. Naomi has many brochures available but also was joyful to share other options for things in the area. Within a 15 min drive in the town of Ards you have a selection of stores for anything you may need. We were sad to leave and hope to come back again sometime. Overall during our stay we never had one complaint we loved everything and highly recommend Ash Cottage.

  • Perfect retreat for a family with a dog. The floors in the main living rooms are wood/tiles so no worries regarding muddy paws/kids shoes. There is also a corridor at the entrance for boots and coats. A lovely garden for the dog and kids to run around in. Great bathroom and bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen, managed to cook for 4 most meals without too much stress. :)

  • A stunning building in the middle of a stunning location, Shoreline is genuinely one of the most homely places I have ever had the fortune of staying in. Irene was also the most welcoming and accommodating host, and really went the extra mile to make sure myself and my friends had the best possible stay. The view is breathtaking, the area beautiful, but I would go all the way back again for her breakfasts alone.

  • Irene and John run shoreline as a private home with you as their guest.! You were given excellent information on how to find them, what to expect when you arrive, gracious reception and they can answer any questions they put to them about the community. For instance, we went to the little village down the street and had a marvelous meal…The next morning we buzzed over to Mount Stewart for at least five hours of incredible experiences… ❤️❤️ Not only is shoreline in an excellent location but the hosts add so much to your experience. I can’t wait to book my next trip!!!

  • Irene and John were wonderful hosts. They have a stunning home with great views across the Lough. Prior to our arrival we were given detailed directions and on on arrival, they were very welcoming. A highlight had to be the excellent breakfast. We only wish we had booked for a second night!

  • We have just returned from a wonderful overnight at Shoreline. We stayed here as we were attending a wedding just down the road. The owners John and Irene are just brilliant. They cannot do enough for you. Nothing is a chore. They make your feel so welcome. The accommodation is 5 star. Beautiful views and pristine clean. We had such a comfortable stay here and will definitely be back hopefully for a longer visit. Special mention to the breakfast - out of the world. We didn't eat for the rest of the day! One last special mention goes to Benji the dog. What a cutie!

There’s something very relaxing about looking out over the beautiful view of Strangford Lough from both the living room and the bedroom. We had a fabulous stay here.

  • Fi and her family are very welcoming people and ready to help you at any time. The house and the room are very spacious and a short walk outside of Kircubbin. The family has a very friendly dog and a cat, people with allergies should keep that in mind though. For visitors travelling by public transport be aware that the bus only comes a couple times a day. So check online for timetables and then you shouldn’t have any problem. The landscape and surroundings are absolutely stunning and great for long walks. We definitely recommend a visit.

    Roman2018-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, very spacious! We especially loved the cat and dog, who were the sweetest pets ever. We genuinely would have adopted either or both of them! Lovely views from a nice warm house with a nice soft bed, what more can you ask for? Fi, Jean and Gary made us feel like family, literally. Overall a wonderful place to stay. Oh yes one more thing, when the cat is confident enough to approach you, he will meow and pretend like he's being starved. It's all an act, look at that belly! He is a lovely wee thing, probably the nicest cat I've ever met. The dog is the same, absolutely amazing with people and so adorable. We missed the animals when we left and still do. Highly recommend this place!

They were quick to get in contact with any questions we had and they have a beautiful place in a gorgeous location. We were staying for a wedding initially we would come again just to enjoy staying there.

  • The accommodation is fantastic, compared to the best hotels. The comfortable room is equipped with all the comforts (from slippers to tv 50 ''). Perhaps one of the most beautiful B & Bs visited in Ireland. Irene and her husband managed to create an unforgettable atmosphere. Recommended, indeed, an indispensable step.

Double bedroom with private tiled ensuite bathroom. Use of kitchen and appliances. Use of living room. Laundry services. The house is a 2 minute walk to the beach, public transport, shops and the bar. The house is pet friendly and has a lockable sheltered kennel attached to house for security overnight. It is compulsory that pets are kept off furnishings including sofa and bedding. Pets can be kept in hallway, kitchen or kennel overnight only. I am a live-in host and upstairs is my space.
♡ Country decor ♡ Clean and tidy ♡ Close to the beach ♡ Use of house appliances ♡ Keypad access ♡ Easy-going ♡ Instant hot water ♡ Pet friendly ♡ Cute porch ♡ Outside seating ♡ Walking distance to shops, pub, restaurants, bus stop and beach.
This is usually a fairly quiet area however there is plenty going on in local restaurants and bars, with live music. There is alot of local places who have a pet-friendly policy including cafes, restaurants, bars and some national trust venues. Good food take aways for night spent by the fire watching a movie. The beach is an absolute must, there is a playground and park with activities for children and local shops selling beach toys. It's a great place to stay if you want to explore the ards peninsula. I would suggest the newly renovated Aquarium in Portaferry (20 mins away) and Movilla Trout Fishery (10 mins away) as must-do activities during your stay.
