This private two-bedroom, fully-furnished loft apartment will provide you with all the amenities of home while offering you a rustic, country-side retreat. This north shore oasis is within walking distance of the Pictou Lodge Resort and 1km from Caribou Provincial park beach. "The Roost" offers a rustic, cottage-like setting with plenty of storage space, a full kitchen, separate living room and a private entrance. The apartment is located on the upper level of our garage. The apartment is accessed via a flight of external stairs. Please book at your own discretion and awareness of any physical limitations you may have. "The Roost" also features a lower-level home to our free range hens (no roosters).
Welcome to beautiful Braeshore. 1) Nearby you’ll find Pictou Lodge; just a 1km stroll down a quiet country road. From there you can also access Caribou beach on the Northumberland Strait. 2) Caribou-Munroes Island Provincial Park main entrance and camp ground is also 1km away. 3) The Town of Pictou is only 10k away. 4) We’re also only 6k away from the PEI ferry. 5) Guided Fly Fishing tours with Matt Dort: Matt Dort is a registered Sport Fishing Guide and has 30 years of fly fishing experience for Atlantic Salmon and Trout. • Karen & John were kind enough to host a partner and his work colleagues last minute. Friendly, kind, helpful and clean.

  • This is a really nice spot and very good value. John and Karen are friendly and helpful. The views are lovely, the chickens are fun, and the unit is welcoming and well designed. Bery comfy bed. Will definitely go back and would highly recommend it to anyone. Easy drive to Stellarton, New Glasgow, Tatamagouche, Wallace, Pugwash. Even extended my stay by a day while I was there. • Great place, cool space would recommend

    Elicia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Roost is incredible - both the space and view were a delight, and provided a well-needed break while working long days in the area. I don't think John & Karen coordinated the deer greeting us every morning, but I'm not sure I'd put it past them either! John popping up with fresh eggs was truly another lovely surprise. I would absolutely stay again, and look forward to my next work event in the area.

Liane and her staff don't miss a thing when it comes to cleanliness, detail, their amazing hospitality, and anything and everything to make your stay perfect! The cottages are equipped with everything you'll need and more, and are breathtakingly beautiful!

  • We had a great time at Lianes place, the cabin was beautiful and very clean. Liane was easy to communicate with and very accommodating to us. We would love to come back again some time!

  • If your looking for a peaceful & quiet place to get away and disconnect, this is your place. I've never been so relaxed and tranquil. You have so much privacy. Hosts were great, they were there if you needed them, but gave you your space. I loved the privacy of the hottub and how you got it all to yourself and no worries of anyone around. We loved our stay, we will be back. I didn't want to leave❤

    Amanda2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful and very clean. Liane was great to communicate with and was quick to respond to any questions I had. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

  • I had mentioned to Liane during my booking that the trip was for my girlfriend's birthday. When we arrived at the Cottage Loon, my girlfriend was surprised and extremely happy to see that Liane had provided us with a bottle of wine and a very nice birthday card. Needless to say, this was a wonderful touch and way beyond and above expectations! The Cottage Loon itself was very clean and cozy and had a fantastic view, but the real treat was the outdoor hot tub. Both nights we were there we were enjoying a cider in the hot tub under the stars, it was magical. We even did a hike, the entrance of which was just across the road. All in all, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend staying here!

    Devin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • We loved our private get away which is not too far from home! Can’t wait to come back in the summer.

    Natasha2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a private, secluded stay then this place is for you. The serenity of the cottage exceeded all our expectations. We went to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary & were greeted with a beautiful bottle of wine, which was so appreciated. There is no cellphone service in the area but the wifi worked for us while we were in our cottage as well as out on the grounds (in the hot tub for example) Such a relaxing atmosphere, we will definitely be back.

    Kimberly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Liane’s place is amazing . Liane is also an amazing host . Private areas, beyond clean, lots of amazing amenities, so helpful and easy to contact. It was just the weekend away that was needed to reset . We would definitely love to be back again soon .

  • I simply cannot day enough great things about Liane and Cottage Bear. It’s a fantastic location. A great getaway from life’s daily routine. No better place to relax and unwind. The best getaway on all of Cape Breton Island.

    Devan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this spot!

    Christopher2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a romantic get away in the middle of the wilderness. Stayed here for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was magical. From the beautiful scenery, peace and quiet, to our view of the frozen lake it doesn’t get much better. Liane and staff are amazing hosts, they even left a bottle of wine and matching robes for the hot tub. We made a furry friend (the friendliest cat). He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He hung out around our cabin for a while and even followed us to the hot tub. If you are staying here show him some love! Overall a 10/10 accommodation, easy to locate, spotlessly clean, and cozy. Would highly recommend it to anyone seeking some adventure and relaxation in Cape Breton!

A peace and stillness exists in St. Esprit that everyone who visits can recognize and embrace. A once sacred Native American gathering place, St. Esprit was deserted after French/British tensions. This turned what was once a bustling country village into a rare isolated backcountry of Canada. Our retreat was created to help people return to their sacred roots within nature, to enjoy the crisp & fresh air of canada‘s outback and to help one‘s eyes enjoy the soothing qualities of being able to look as far as the horizon can take your gaze. Located on the southern- most shore of Cape Breton on the northeast tip of Nova Scotia, there is significant gulfstream influence in comparison to other areas of Nova Scotia due to its easterly location. This results in a oceanic-maritime climate which features significant seasonal lag just like San Fransisco with September almost coming in as the warmest month of the year. Our neighbor, Sable Island, is 187 km south of St. Esprit Island and it acts as one of the closest landmasses to sable island. In terms of privacy, you will find the peace and quiet in the midst of nature that few places can offer. Most of the time there will be no one else around for kilometres on end, allowing you to relax by the lake and the adjacent oceanside beach, hike along trails, or boat to the Atlantic Ocean via kayak/canoe without anyone else disturbing your vacation experience. No restaurants are in the area (nearest is 30 min away which includes fine dining), however, upon request, homemade gourmet pizza can be made and delivered as room service (30 dollars - 12 inch pizza)
  • Amazing spot! Cabin has everything you need and super clean. Hot tub was great! And the privacy was awesome. Will be back for sure in the summer/fall! Liane is a great host.

    Stephen2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Falcon Cottage was very memorable and equally enjoyable. Being surrounded by nature with extreme privacy was on our wish list, and we found that embodied in this spot. The place was very clean, cozy and had all the amenities needed for a joyous stay. The hosts were very kind, punctual and fast with responses to any questions, and went above and beyond to ensure that our comfort and satisfaction was met. The private jacuzzi experience in the middle of wilderness was amazing, so was the hot sauna, I highly recommend trying both! We look forward to visiting again in the summer/fall and enjoy the lovely lake view from the cottage!

    Hassan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • WOW!! This is the best place either of us has ever stayed!!! If you're wondering wether its worth the money the answer is YES, 1000%. The falcon cottage is beautiful and romantic! It's filled with impressive handmade log furniture, the bed was more comfortable than most hotels, and everything was super clean and modern. Amazing star gazing, the hot tub was so relaxing, next time we're definitely booking more than one hour in it! Liane was great, we only booked one night but the weather had turned bad the day of checkout so she offered us a second night free of charge so that our car didn't get stuck trying to get up a hilly driveway covered in wet slushy snow. We were so impressed we definitely want to go back in the summer and use the kayaks and explore the wilderness more. Save up & book several nights because once you get there you won't want to leave!

    Nina2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience, cottage falcon was absolutely beautiful, so so clean and the bed was like a cloud. Hot tub was super great as well, everything was so private too, couldn’t see or hear anyone! Lianne was so sweet also, left us a few snacks and drinks :) Wifi was great too!

    Amy2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, off-the-grid gem! Private and beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

    Shaena2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin with an awesome view. We loved everything about this place. Cute little touches made our stay even better. The private hot tub was so relaxing with the pathway of lights and the cabin was so comfortable. Had everything you needed for a little getaway. We will be coming back for sure! Liane was an awesome hostess and responded quickly to any messages we sent.

Two story, loft-style cabin in the woods. Relax, have a campfire, dip your feet in the nearby brook and enjoy nature in this cozy and comfortable space. Available all year round, with a wood stove and equipped with a generator if you choose. Near the town of Antigonish, along the Sunrise Trail, next to the Fairmont Ridge Hiking trail, and minutes from some of the best beaches around.
This cabin was built by a group of friends who wanted a place to get away and enjoy time in nature. The owner of the property is currently starting to curate the land into a small wilderness retreat and camping area and this cabin is the first space available for rent! Please be aware that the cabin is located approximately 1 mile from the parking area. There is a rough road, however access requires that guests be able to walk this distance, over sometimes steep/rough terrain. It is recommended that guests bring footwear appropriate for hiking. The cabin has a downstairs living area with a futon couch, table and chairs, wood stove, and small kitchenette insert. The loft is accessed by ladder and has a double futon couch/bed, as well as twin bunk beds. Please let us know in your booking if you would prefer to have the futon bed made up, the twin bunks, or both, and we will prepare accordingly for you! There is a large sunny deck accessed from upstairs where you can enjoy the breezes and the view. A propane barbecue is also provided for easy year round cooking. There will be fresh drinking water available on site (12L). There is a large campfire pit with firewood provided, and a refreshing stream runs along the edge of the cabin site. There is a dartboard, cards, and several board games available for your use, and even a TV and movies to watch if you find yourself natured out. You can access the Fairmont Ridge hiking trail less than 100 meters away from the cabin, or explore the nearby gypsum cliffs, woods, and ponds on your own. The entrance to the property is located only 2.5km from the nearest beach, 9km from Cribbons Point fishing wharf, and on the way to the Cape George lighthouse and Ballentyne's Cove and Tuna Interpretive Centre. Please note that there are no shower/bathing facilities, there is no running water, and that the toilet is of the outhouse variety (but brand new and extremely clean!). You will likely not have cell reception once at the cabin.
  • We had a great trip eveything we needed was provided in the cabin, such a peaceful getaway

    Dakota2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rowan was a very accommodating host, and provided us with all of the information we would need before heading out to the cabin. We loved getting out on the trails with our dog, and getting warm by the wood stove come the evenings. We hoped that our time there would help us re-charge, and both left feeling so rested.

    Allysha2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Rowan's place is a magical experience and we can't wait for a chance to go back! The walk through the woods to the cabin is peaceful , the location of the cabin is perfect, and the creek that runs by it is great for getting water to do dishes with, etc. The cabin itself is cozy and a very fun space to spend time in. We enjoyed many sweaty games of darts (the wood fire really heats the place up), and lots of time relaxing and cooking on the woodstove. I highly highly recommend staying here, at any time of year!

    Eryn2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • such a wonderful space in a beautiful forest! we thoroughly enjoyed! very warm!

    Amelia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rowan’s place was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. A beautiful walk to and from the cabin, spacious for a tiny house. We loved how peaceful and remote it was. Rowan has quick responses! Surprisingly very warm in the cabin as well. Thank you Rowan!

    Catharine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rowans place in the woods was a dream. We went after a big snowstorm and had a great time snowshoeing and sledding. Rowan was very accommodating and cleared some of the path on the walk in, which was very much appreciated. He also left us additional water and supplies as we needed them. Would definitely stay again.

    Justin2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Very private, beautiful setting in the woods nestled by the creek. Lots of trails a short walk from cabin. Great place for dogs to run around and to be in nature. Me and my dog stayed here for three snowy nights and it was a perfect getaway from the city. The wood fireplace kept us toasty all night. If you need a getaway from the city, this is a great option.

    Joel2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible cabin, thank you Rowan for being such a great host. I stayed here the first week of January 2020. Being the winter, once getting a fire started I found the cabin to be very well insulated. Great spot if you appreciate privacy and being isolated with nature, tucked about a 20min hike into the woods from the host’s home and parking area. Looking forward to coming back and staying on the property again. Thanks!!

  • We came back to this place. Awesome wilderness experience. Get a chance to pluck and eat fresh blueberries straight from the bush 😀

  • The Place is very nice and also so are the hosts. Highly recommend for anybody who likes to stay out in a natural environement

  • This place is truly one of a kind - the most beautiful setting - tucked away & remote, yet easy to get to. This is exactly what we were looking for (and hoping for!) and so this ticked every box. We love being outdoors and camping but I don't love being in a tent - so this place is just perfect for a rustic getaway that won't cost you an arm and a leg, but is still super comfortable and cosy. Having the campfire pit, and the indoor wood stove was perfect for our chilly October evenings and sitting out in the hammock looking out at the view really felt special. We can't recommend this place enough! Thank you Carin & Scott for sharing your magical place!

    Sara2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoying camping , then this is highly recommended. It's a lovely off the grid experience. Carin is a great host.

  • This cabin was the perfect winter getaway! We had a great stay. The cabin has everything we could need and has really nice touches. Karen and Jerry are truly kind people. Excellent hosts. Couldn't recommend higher. We would certainly love to come back in the summer.

    Stephen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Shore to Sea cottage on Christmas Eve in a snowstorm, and had a wonderful stay! Nova Scotia is not an obvious winter destination, but we appreciated the amazing quiet and the harsh beauty of nature. The cottage was very cozy for reading, and we loved learning more about the life of the lady who had lived there - it made us feel like we were visiting a relative. Karen and Jerry were very welcoming hosts, and so was their gorgeous dog Sampson! In spite of the weather, we were able to spend a significant amount of time outdoors, trail running. The whole area has fantastic trails everywhere, and we saw lots of birds (eagles mostly) and animal tracks in the snow. Highly recommended, we will be back!

  • Our stay at this cottage in lovely Phillips Harbour will always stand out as one of our favorite trips. Karen, Jerry & Kevin went above & beyond to make us feel welcomed, helping us find our way around the beautiful Lost Shores and sharing the fascinating history of the Harbour (Jerry is quite the storyteller, & has a wealth of knowledge about the water & the area he loves so much!). Their cottage was perfect for us: clean, well equipped, perfect deck to relax on while overlooking the Harbour. Peaceful & quiet! Coming back in the summer to do even more outside/water activities. Although just walking the shoreline was enough! Off-season was a great time for us to unwind and recharge, could not have picked a better place or people to do that with. Thanks again for the exceptional stay & the wonderful memories, and particularly your kindness. See you in the summer!

  • Karen and Jerry are very friendly, informative and helpful hosts. Their cottage was perfectly located for our interest in exploring the surrounding areas including Antigonish and Cape Breton. We also enjoyed the fact that it was a bit off the beaten path and offered us some quiet space to relax every evening after our daily explorations and beach walks.

    Karen2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a cozy get away. It was exceptionally clean and decorated warmly. It was so wonderful to wake up in the morning, sit out on the porch and look out on the ocean. Karen and Jerry were perfect examples of what we were told Nova Scotians were warm, caring and so very friendly. We are looking forward to returning next year.

    Patricia2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Jerry’s place is a hidden gem. They have renovated an historic house to make a warm, welcoming space. Quiet, beautiful view, gracious host and hostess. Hope to return for a longer stay some day.

Private cabin surrounded by trees, and only 5 km to town, 20 km to Melmerby Beach. Small kitchen, sitting area and 3 piece bath. Outdoor firepit, private parking. Pond in yard - great for winter skating.
We are close to New Glasgow and Stellarton, each have all the necessities including great takeout and eat-in restaurants. We are in the heart of Pictou County home of many great parks and beaches, the ferry to PEI is only a twenty minute drive from the cabin. Many of Nova Scotias attractions are an easy day trip from here. We love it here and hope you do to.
  • This was my fifth stay at Don and Karen's and it was just as great as all the other times. The cabin is always sooo nice and clean and cozy, tucked away in a little quiet and private corner of the property. All to myself. No one in sight. The bed was very comfortable and the little living room and well equipped kitchen has everything you’d need to stay there almost forever! Can’t wait for my next trip back to New Glasgow and will make it my 6th stay! Than after that it’ll be my 7th. And on and on.

    Daniel2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Don's cabin is a spot I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice spot to spend the night. The cabin is well located, close to town, clean as can be, comfy and warm, and Don is an amazing host and easy to communicate.

  • Don's cabin was as advertised - cozy and warm. It was clean and well stocked with kitchen and bath supplies and the host was available to assist with check in and answer questions. The dogs had a lovely time getting some exercise and enjoying the big yard. I would stay again.

    Marilyn2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Don’s cabin. It was once again very clean and since it was a cooler day, they had the cabin heat on before my arrival. Nice touch! I’m hoping the cabin is available the next time I’m back in New Glasgow!

    Todd2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy small cabin on the edge of the woods, perfect for 1-2 person (s) traveling. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed to cook small meals, with a bar fridge to store food/drinks. Close to other people using the property, but it was very quiet and private. Just outside of town, so it has more of a rural feel to it, but close enough to town to run and grab anything.

At the Prospector's, you are about 1/2 way between Halifax & Cape Breton Island in the Eastern Shore Wild Islands area. We only host one booking per night, so if you book for one or two, you have the whole downstairs all to yourselves! Surrounded by nature, wildlife, peace & quiet- a country retreat but not remote! Store within walking distance! We live close by & have a canoe to rent, islands to visit & woodland trails to hike. Wild camping spots by the ocean or forest can be arranged!
The property is secluded and private - a 4 bedroom, two bath century cottage that we have been renovating bit by bit. So far, there are two double bedrooms available, one downstairs with a full bath and one upstairs with a 1.5 bath. One single room upstairs could be readied if needed (children, etc.) The other large bedroom upstairs is not quite ready - still being painted, etc. but we do have other accommodation close by if needed. Loads of wild camping space too! Well, not too wild I hope ;-) Please note that the Prospector's is a housekeeping cottage - all the basics are there, including coffee, tea and fresh fruit but you need to bring the rest if you plan to cook. Be sure to make a stop in Sherbrooke (heading west) or Sheet Harbour (heading east) and stock up on groceries. There is a convenience store within walking distance with LCB etc. WiFi is sketchy between Sheet Harbour and Sherbrooke but a weak signal can be picked up at the cottage. We aren't always here to respond quickly and with no cell service, 24 hrs is just a bit too tight, AirBnB! We'll get back to you as fast as we can.
You are just a short drive from Sherbrooke Village and one of the most beautiful drives in the province along the St. Mary's River, on your way to Cape Breton - esp. in autumn! Also not far from the trails at Liscombe Mills (to the east) and Taylor's Head Hiking Trails to the west. The people of Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore are an amiable bunch of folks, always willing to lend a helping hand - and doing it with a smile. The village has a store (yep, liquor too) and a post office, a seaside playground, beach and park -- and some secret places we'll share with you, if you're here long enough.
  • A very charming place to stay on the way to Cape Breton. Very cozy with communicative and hospitable hosts. And the folks at the convenience store are the nicest!

We had a very comfortable evening in a lovely place Thanks again for all your care, Gail!

    Erin2019-10-07T00:00:00Z

  • If you want to get out of the city for some rest and relaxation I definitely recommend Gail, Jurgen & Chris's place! Their cottage is absolutely adorable with everything you could possibly need. We were there during a hurricane so they came to check on us and brought us some water. So thoughtful! I would recommend bringing some wood to enjoy the fireplace, some wine to enjoy while playing a game (lots there) and just enjoy being disconnected (no cell reception).

    Whitney2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very special historic farm house. Overflowing character and special touches that made us feel so at home. Gail and her son Chris were wonderful hosts, full of heart and down to earth generosity. The farm is delightful, peaceful, gazillion stars on clear nights, ravens, black and blue berries galore, wind in the trees, a perfect retreat.

Private, (2) bedroom cottage on Liscombe Harbour, only four (4) km from Liscombe Lodge Resort. The master bedroom has a queen size bed while the second bedroom has a futon which pulls out to a double bed. The Living room has a love seat/daybed, sleeps one. The cottage is fully equipped (linens, towels, etc., microwave and BBQ) and boasts its own private dock directly off the cottage decks. High speed internet is available. Perfectly located for day trips to Cape Breton Island and Halifax.
Our guests can pick fresh mussels at low tide just in front of the cottage; fish mackerel from the private dock; launch their boat at a boat launch just 100 meters from the cottage driveway or pick wild raspberries or blackberries in West Liscomb on the opposite shore. One of the most unique beauties of this property I'd have to say is "while you are relaxing on the deck you may see kayaks go by, an aluminum boat with a person fishing OR you may see a pleasure yacht or a sailing vessel from anywhere on the Canadian coast, from USA or many places in Europe" you never know simply because this harbour is a very popular stay for many people internationally. Our rates are $800.00 for one week (7 nights) or a minimum of three nights for $375.00.
Privacy and tranquility are the order of the day on the beautiful Eastern shore's rugged coast line upon which our cottage is located. Only 15 minutes from historic Sherbrooke village and a 2 hour drive on a breathtaking coast if you feel the call to either Halifax for a day or to Cape Breton Island. An ideal location for many day trips!
  • Definitely worth the visit. Cozy and beautiful - we didn’t worry about the weather (which was mixed)

  • Amazing spot for a get away. Booking and check-in was easy and convenient. The location was perfect for our little family. Tucked away yet easy to find. The deck connecting right to the dock was a huge plus. We spent most of our time out there taking in the amazing views. The cottage itself is very clean and tidy with lots of amenities. We felt right at home here. Owners are wonderful to deal with and were readily available if needed. We highly recommend this location to anyone looking to relax and get away from it all! :)

    Rose2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy peaceful retreat for couples. Beautiful views, relaxing exterior with patio chairs and great deck and dock, a cozy interior. For the chefs out there, the kitchen was moderate to well stocked and clean. Love the open concept design. Being able to bring our puppies was a must, and they had plenty of space to roam while being far enough away from the road to be safe. Beautiful grounds with green spot for field games or playing fetch! Town was only 15 minutes away where you can purchase anything you’ve forgotten, or great for a day trip. Would be excellent for fall, spring or summer! It was hot while we were there, but delightful breezes kept the cottage cool and comfortable. The indoor wood stove would make it very pleasant in the spring or fall as well. A great outdoor fire pit regardless of the season!

Enjoy the history of our beautiful home that dates back to the late 1820's. Kayak in front of the house along the Guysborough Harbour and then visit one of our many gorgeous beaches or book a boat tour at the local marina. Come back for a rest in the hammock on the covered deck until it's time to bbq or enjoy an evening fire. Or you could walk the lane into the village and treat yourself to a delicious meal. This is your perfect restful destination.
Almost 200 years old, our home was one of the earliest built in the village of Guysborough. It is spacious enough that an entire family or two couples can be comfortable and lots of room inside and out to enjoy.
There is a wonderful grocery store at the nearby shopping plaza if you want to cook at the house or Days Gone By Bakery has excellent food all day long! Don't leave Guysborough without having a meal at Big G's! Easily walk to nearby Pub and marina or the Chedabucto Performance Center and new Lifestyle Complex with fully equipped gym. Outdoor pool is also open seasonally.
  • Beautiful old home with modern touches, open concept, so many spots to hang out! Will definitely come back again!

  • Giselle's spot is nestled in a unique and beautiful hidden part of Nova Scotia, within a stones throw to anything you need. Tons of room with a killer view with a quintessential small town right next door and great craft beer in town! A spot not to be missed. Giselle was super accommodating and very quick to respond with open and clear communication. I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

  • Giselle was a great host. The place was exactly as described, clean, spacious and very well equipped. It made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The house was spotless and the scenery beautiful!

    Sue2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • It's a very old house so it isn't perfect but it's very roomy. The bedrooms are quite comfortable, the kitchen is giant and had everything we needed and more. The living/dining room was better than we expected with morning light pouring into the windows. We used that room daily. The TV room is huge but we didn't bother with that much as the front porch was perfect for relaxing, reading or just hanging out. The town is cute and has a seasonal Saturday morning market at the harbor. The path to town is mostly along the shore and is a nice walk. The place is a bit out of the way but that's part of it's charm. All in all, we were very happy that we'd rented it.

  • Dustin was available and quick to reply for anything that came up throughout the entire process - booking, last minute confirmations and the little things throughout the stay. Dustin mentioned it would be his first time hosting, but if I hadn’t known that I wouldn’t have been able to tell. He’s truly an attentive, but not intrusive, natural host. When we arrived, there was a gift basket with local baked goods and homemade butter and jelly. He went out of his way to assure me my dogs were welcome as well and free to roam the property. There is a homemade guide book to the area available, including information on nearby points of interest, local restaurants and amenities (including distance, addresses, hours, and numbers) The house is as described - a gorgeous character home with modern touches. Far enough off the beaten trail that you can enjoy a quiet retreat with stunning views and the sound of the ocean in the distance, but close enough to still do the touristy bits (like the Bras d’or scenic drive or even the Cabot Trail) without much disruption.

    Jenna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little spot just outside of Antigonish! We stayed here for a weekend “staycation” and it was lovely. The apartment is a on-suite to Chrissy’s house, perfect for two. Not entirely soundproof, we could hear the family early in the morning and their cat meowed at the connecting door all Saturday evening - still nothing that would deter us from staying here again. Separate entrance and plenty of parking space. The heated floors were lovely and the accent wall/chalkboard were a fun surprise! A NSLC and convenience store are just minutes down the road and we enjoyed a dinner at Mother Webb’s. Highly recommend this place. We’ll be back!

Our modern private apartment-style room features a beautiful wooden interior, wifi, Bell TV, it’s own private entrance & gratis a la carte breakfast. You'll find the peace, quiet & privacy in the midst of nature that few places can offer. Most of the time there will be no one else around for kilometres on end, allowing you to relax by the lake or the adjacent oceanside beach, hike along trails, or boat to the Atlantic Ocean via kayak/canoe without anyone else disturbing your vacation.
This private room features a separate entrance so guests can move about freely by themselves without sharing any living space with the host. Just outside of the entrance is a garden area (that is not used by the host) and is virtually exclusively used by the guests staying in this one apartment since other guests have their own area around each cottage that they use. The garden area features a beautiful view of the lake amidst the lush green surrounding plant life and scenery complete with garden furniture & a charcoal BBQ. The room itself features a Queen sized bed, Bell Satellite TV with flat screen, wi-Fi, mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, outside BBQ, lakeside fire pit and free parking. Full 24/7 access to snack/drink bar attached to the office, as well as free complimentary hot beverages from our Keurig machine. The room has clean well water and that has been tested for heavy metals and contaminants.
For tips on enjoying the warmest atlantic ocean waters at the St. Esprit Reef, ask us in the office or message us on Airbnb. No restaurants are in the area (nearest is 30 min away which includes fine dining), however, upon request, homemade gourmet pizza can be made and delivered as room service.

  • Perfect place to unplug from reality! 180 acres of property with lots of amenities and hiking trails nearby. Liane and her family were outstanding hosts! Came here for a getaway for my birthday and Liane had upgraded us for free to a bigger suite since it wasn’t in use. Also had a gift waiting for me! Highly recommend, 5 stars!

    Caitlin2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Liane was a lovely host. Very accommodating and hospitable! She is very thoughtful with the little things that made the stay even better. Our one night stay was amazing and we took advantage of everything. The charcoal bbq, bonfire pit, hot tub, walking trail, DVD selection, and canoeing. It is the perfect weekend getaway with privacy, and freedom to explore. We woke up to a lovely breakfast in which you have options to choose, and grabbed some complimentary coffee for the road. We will definitely be returning to this amazing place!

    Morgan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Liane's place is definitely top tier; everything is sparkling clean, there are thoughtful touches throughout the unit and the she goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. We will definitely be coming back sooner than later, and highly recommend anyone to try out this lovely family run retreat.

  • A great place for a weekend away! Beautiful property and hospitality, breakfast was delicious!

    Elizabeth2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lianes place is quiet an experience with a hottub and a view at the stars and a lake to discovery by kayak. We would very much recommend the place! We only stayed one night which was retrospectively too short!

The snow on the ground allowed us to see animal tracks around the house, and we even saw a deer in the driveway! The house is clean, comfortable, and has all you need for a pleasant stay. We enjoyed playing cribbage while watching the sunset. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

TransCanada trail is close by for hiking and biking. The cottage has a large deck for yoga etc. A wonderful getaway place. WiFi was also good.

  • This was our first stay at an Airbnb and we picked a fantastic location and would recommend it to everyone. It was very clean, spacious, and in a nutshell had everything available that one could wish for, or need, to enjoy their stay. The serenity and peace of mind of this experience was invaluable. We are already planning for our next stay in the forthcoming year which will be for at least 1 week after this recent 2 day experience. Many thanks to our hosts Beatrice and Peter. George and Sandra Harris. Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.

  • Damian's place was everything we wanted - cozy, clean and comfy. The shower and tub are great. The bed and couch were super comfortable. We were there for a volleyball tournament and the location was perfect. Damian was kind enough to deliver a new can opener when the ither broke, which was very thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this place!
