  • For a late thought and last minute idea for a few days away during half term for my daughter, Patrick's place exceeded all expectations,we even got a bigger cabin than we'd booked, The setting was a lovely and quiet getaway from it all type of place, the cabin was fantastic, clean and well equipped and to sit in a lovely hot tub on a very cold but clear February night and be able to stare at the stars was a memory for ever. Patrick is a fantastic host, cheerful and helpful with great comunication including suggesting places to visit during our stay. The park itself even has a bar/restaurant on site if you don't want to venture out. Shopping is a drive away so bear that in mind but we will definitely be making a return visit

  • Patrick is very helpful and responsive. The place itself is fantastic, enjoyed it immensely. It's very cosy and the hot tub is wonderful with views over the lake. Will definitely be back.

  • Me and 3 friends went and we all loved it cozy comfortable clean quiet the views from cabin so beautiful, would recommend this to anyone, we were goin to go site seeing nearby but we ended up just relaxing in the hot tub and around the cabin feeling content and peaceful, will definitely go back sometime, and the host Patrick was very nice and helpful man, money well spent 👍

  • Great log cabin by the lake. Location is ideal next to the A1 (quite literally!). Lovely touches inside including fresh baked bread and small hamper of goodies. Christmas decorations were a nice touch (we stayed mid-December) and the hot tub was lovely and relaxing. Cabin was a good size for a couple or small family. Alnwick only 10 minutes away too.

  • Lovely resort, nice view. Wonderful place to relax.

  • Very pleased with our weekend at the lodge - great place to stay, very clean and homely. We especially loved the hot tub! Patrick was particularly helpful - would definitely recommend a stay here! 😊

    Emma2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Located just off the A1, Fontburn is far enough removed that you don't feel like you're near a busy main road, but accessing it is no problem. Thanks to previous guests checking out on time and a quick turn around by the cleaning crew our group of 5 was able to settle into our cabin a little earlier than stated. Fontburn was clean, cosy and gave off an incredibly warm feeling, with a lovely view of the lake to match. Patrick was a great, gracious host and always stopped by in the morning to clean the hot tub and offer suggestions of what we could do that day. The few issues we had was resolved by Patrick quickly and with a happy manner. The beds were comfy and clean, and we slept solidly during our time there. We loved our time at the cabin whether we were using the hot tub or settling down for a night of games and we hope to return soon to experience the calm!

This Amble cottage is perfect for exploring Northumberland and the surrounding area.
I moved to Amble by the Sea five years ago and I just love it! Here are just a few things; 1. A proper working harbour with sea going boats..when they land the fish, gulls whirl about to see what they can steal and there’s a beach to meander on. There are boats for hire to see Coquet Island..a bird sanctuary about a mile off the coast ...or for fishing trips, at the Harbour too. 2. A lovely, picturesque Marina to have a walk around with a nice bar, with views going up to Warkworth one way and down to the pier the other. Great place to take sunset photos. 3. Last year, Amble won the best coastal High Street. We have a great selection of shops and , at a time when some High Streets are declining, we’re expanding. 4. The Pods..these are upended boats made into little, cute craft and artisan shops. Located at the Harbour, round the corner from the cottage. 5. Great restaurants on the doorstep! No taxi required. The Boatyard has won awards for the last 2 years as the best fish restaurant in the U.K. 6. A good selection of pubs and coffee shops. A new cafe bar has just opened at the Harbour serving terrific food. 7. Lovely walks..by the sea or in the country..Amble is also very cycle friendly..hire bikes are available locally. Kayaks and surf/paddle boards are also available for hire. 8. Golden beaches that stretch for miles...even in the Summer you can find stretches of beach with no one else there! 9. Lots of local picturesque villages..castles..secluded bays..nice pubs..great restaurants..all within a few miles of Amble by the Sea. 10. And ..the greatest Northumberland foible...you can’t go anywhere without people saying ‘hello’ to you. Amble by the Sea isn’t called ‘the friendliest port’ for nothing!
  • Di's cottage is really lovely. Warm and cosy, spotlessly clean and in a brilliant location for making the most of Amble and the Northumberland coast. Communication with Di was great, and she provided lots of ideas and tips for places to visit. We went to some great seafood restaurants just round the corner, had icecream at Spurreli's, local beer at the Cock and Bull micro pub, saw red squirrels and a vast range of birds at the Hauxley nature reserve, and a lovely walk up the coast to Alnwick via Warkworth castle. Couldn't ask for any more!

  • Our second time staying at Dovecote Corner and it did not disappoint! The cottage has everything you’ll need and its so cosy. Such a lovely place to stay after a long walk along the beach, the log burner is perfect!! Thanks so much to Diane for another great stay, we hope to be back in the near future and hopefully for longer next time :)

    Karen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great quirky base to explore Amble and the surrounding areas. Di was very helpful in giving tips for dog friendly places to eat. There are nice little welcome touches like fresh milk biccies and logs for the cosy fire which you can chill in front of after a busy day walking eating and drinking. Literally a few minutes walk to the centre and harbour and lots of little gems a short walk or drive away. We have completely fallen in love with Amble and even looked on Rightmove haha. Highly recommend - thanks for a fab stay Jo Nick & Freddie the poo xx

The area is quiet and peaceful, and the cottage is a lovely base to explore the surrounding area. The photos and description are entirely accurate, and I was pleasantly surprised with all the items provided to use. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again myself! Thank you!!

This large, comfortable room has stunning views over rolling fields. Close to the coast and a 5 minute drive to Alnwick, a 5 minute walk from Alnmouth train station, it's ideal for exploring Northumberland. Ideal for couples or families, the room has a king size bed, sofa bed & if required, a cot. A continental breakfast is also provided in the room. The en-suite bathroom has a luxurious roll-top bath & large shower. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
You will have use of a large bedroom at the top of our detached family home. The room has a dining table, kettle, and fridge, with tea, filter coffee, sugar, milk, continental breakfast and fruit supplied. The house makes a great base for exploring the stunning coastline, castles and countryside of the local area, and the large comfortable room with a HD TV and Chromecast will give you space to relax during your stay. Well behaved dogs are welcome. The local area has stunning wide open beaches, and is often referred to as 'Doggie Heaven'. We have a large entrance hallway, you are welcome to leave any luggage here if you need to check in early, or if you need later. We often have this arrangements with visitors who take the train.
Bilton is a picturesque village approximately 1.5 miles from Alnmouth. The area has a range of great walks both inland and to the coast. Nearby Alnmouth is a beautiful village with a range of independently owned cafes, pubs and restaurants. The large, quiet beaches are ideal for families and are very dog friendly.
  • Have had a lovely 2 nights in Damian and Steph's "suite" of rooms - it is so much more than a place to spend the night! I greatly appreciated the very thoughtful touches provided in the rooms (wonderful complimentary breakfast and lots of useful toiletries!) and plenty of room to stretch out. Although in the same house, total privacy and peace is ensured, but Steph and Damian are on hand should you need anything. A very peaceful location with great access to the Northumberland coast and beautiful Alnwick. I would highly recommend this accommodation! PS...thank you for letting my dog, Roscoe, come with me!

  • It was so pleasant to stay at this lovely house. The location is great and very easy to find! The room is very clean and spacious, it’s exactly the same as the picture! The heating system was very powerful, the room was definitely warm enough for a particularly cold and windy night. Damian and his wife are very friendly!! Thanks to their recommendation for the restaurant, we had a great dinner as well!! Thanks for a great stay!

My home is a characterful and spacious 100 year old stone cottage in a tiny quiet street. There's 3 comfy bedrooms, new kitchen and lounge with dining table and Netflix. It is a peaceful west facing street nestled in Amble. I now have a luxury 6 person Hot Tub Spa too! Amble, known as "The Friendliest Port", has made the Sunday Times Top 10 Seaside Places to Live List. Northumberland also won Gold in the British Travel Awards 2018, so come and see what all the fuss is about!
Big lounge-dining room with modern reclining sofas and footstools for seating 6 comfortably. Smart TV with DVD player and a range of dvds for guests to use. A wide range of books and some games for all ages are provided too. There is a brand new kitchen in a country cottage style with modern touches. The house provides all the equipment I have in my own home, plus a full sized dishwasher to save you the hassle of washing up. There is a small private yard to the front which can get a lot of sunshine and is ideal for lazy mornings and summer BBQs. The rear of the property has been completely renovated with a luxurious 6 person Hot Tub Spa fitted at the end of February 2019. This is a high quality hard shell Hot Tub, not an inflatable! The Spa has a solid thermal lid which can be locked in place when not in use, making it child and pet safe as well as keeping it warm and ready for you to use day or night, 365 days a year! There are 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom upstairs. The bathroom has a thermostatic shower in addition to a traditional bathtub depending on your needs. The 3 bedrooms all contain double beds. The largest room has an additional single bed, meaning it can be used for small children, treating the room as a Twin room, or (as it is a quality memory foam mattress) has been praised by guests with bad backs. Utility room washing facilities are provided in the garage for wet and sandy pets who need some extra attention. The street has no passing traffic so is a very safe area for children and pets. Amble has a wide range of shops for you, from unique gift shops and boutiques providing local goods, to brand named convenience stores if you have forgotten anything for your trip. The high street is an easy walk away, but parking is free for 1 hour outside the shops if you would prefer. The take aways and restaurants provide an enormous range of options too, from quick and tasty to award winning dining.
Hope Terrace is a tiny cul-de-sac of just 4 houses. It is situated in a quiet and private location near the top of the high street, a short walk from the river to Warkworth or Amble Marina in one direction, Amble shops, quayside and the beaches in the other.
  • Lovely cottage. Well maintained and really clean. The beds were super comfy. Great communication from the host and they've thought of everything. Lovely touches, like books and games, and clear instruction and information provided. Excellently equipped kitchen and the hot tub is great. Really quiet little street but very close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Great value. Highly recommended.

Beautifully renovated Victorian coach house with dual aspect views on to Northumberland Street from the front and stunning tidal riverside views from the rear. The Coach House sits alongside a prominent Georgian house, which it shares the name - Seafield. The property is located in the very heart of Alnmouth, with the beach, the pubs, the restaurants and the ambience all within touching distance. Access to the Coach House is entirely separate from the main house, via an inviting staircase.
The Coach House has its own private access and is very much a self-contained apartment. This holiday apartment has been completely refurbished this year, to a very high standard. The Coach House was originally built in the mid 1800's when the entire property was a famous Coaching Inn called The Northumberland Arms. Seafield is a very special property and offers unique views of the tidal riverside.
If you have ever visited Alnmouth, then I need not say anything. If you have never visited Alnmouth, then you really have been missing something special. With the mainline East Coast railway serving Alnmouth, London Kings Cross is little more than 3 hours away and the same train that leaves Kings Cross is the same train that arrives in Alnmouth.
  • Neil's place is cosy, warm, sparkling clean and perfectly located. Just a few minutes walk to the beautiful beach with wonderful walks along the Northumberland coast. The Red Lion pub next door has phenomenal food, and scotts coffee shop has excellent coffee and cake (the Bakewell tart in particular!) Easy (if infrequent!) buses take you to beautiful Alnwick and the surrounding villages. Would highly recommend! Neil was super friendly and helpful, and responded very quickly to any messages.

    Rose2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Spotlessly clean, snug and in a fantastic location. Everything you could ask for in the house. Immaculately decorated throughout. We didn’t meet Neil but all communication was quick and efficient.

  • Newly converted coach house, very well done, warm, comfortable and only sorry we didn't have more time to expore Alnmouth as it looked really nice. Check in was very easy and good communication. Many thanks.

  • We spent 3 fantastic nights at Seafield Coach House over New Year. The accommodation was immaculately clean and was really well thought out in making use of all available space. The Coach House is smartly designed with a good mixture of modern appliances and original structure features. The view onto the estuary was stunning as is the night sky throught the velux in the snug. Location wise, it is absolutely central in Alnmouth with plenty of amenities on your doorstep. Communication with Neil was excellent and speedy. On Neil's advice, we booked dinner at Beaches on NYE and had a fantastic meal and were made to feel especially welcome by Donald and Sue, a must try in Alnmouth. We can't wait to go back!

    Andrew2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Neil’s place was fab, such a great location on the high street and dreamy flat. Would definitely recommend!

  • We booked Seafield Coach House for a last minute Christmas break. It was ideal for two. The accommodation was well presented and spotlessly clean. Everything required for the stay was provided. The host Neil answered queries quickly and helpfully. The view from the kitchen/dining area is fabulous - one can sit at the small table and observe the changing tides and skies over the Aln estuary for hours...

  • Betty’s Lodge is as lovely as the photos show. It is super clean, well equipped & very homely with lots of lovely thoughtful touches. The bottle of wine was much appreciated. The site was very quiet on our 3 day visit so we didn’t use it but explored Alnwick Castle, Druridge Bay & Amble- all fantastic for fun & enjoying the gorgeous Northumberland coast.

Built by the Duke of Northumberland around 1895, it is set in the attractive Village of West Thirston in the heart of rural Northumberland. Sleeping up to four people in comfort and style, Riverside Cottage is the perfect location in the centre of Northumberland for your holiday.
This lovely period Cottage is situated in an idyllic rural village and offers views over the River Coquet, perfect for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Just yards from the front door is the riverbank, with miles of beautiful riverside walks leading into the stunning countryside. The Cottage is accessed through a state of the art keyless entry system leading into the Entrance Hall. This simple system means you have the freedom to not worry about carrying keys with you during your stay. In the entrance hall you will find a corner storage unit and towels provided for you to dry down your pet, should you wish to bring one with you. The Cottage has full gas central heating and is fully equipped and includes high speed fibre broadband (Wi-Fi). The Entrance Hall leads into the comfortable and stylish Lounge. It has a beautiful traditional cast iron open fireplace with slate hearth with an original oil painting above it. A lovely three piece suite, oak flooring and traditional window shutters. There is a 40" LCD television with built in DVD player and Sky Freeview HD, BluRay Player and a collection of books, games and DVD's. The Dining Room has an original open grate fireplace with bread oven, wood surround and marble hearth. It comfortably seats four people and is complete with a drinks cabinet full of cut crystal glasses and a wine rack. The room benefits from a beamed ceiling and oak flooring, which adds to the character feeling. The Dining Room also has access to the outdoor seating area with BBQ facilities. The attractive modern Kitchen is fitted with a range of white wall and base units with wooden work surfaces. It has integrated appliances including an electric oven with gas hob and extractor hood, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing machine and family sized dishwasher. The kitchen leads to the downstairs cloakroom/WC. Upstairs the Master Bedroom has a lovely wooden double bed with matching bed side tables, a built in storage cupboard with hanging space and chandelier lighting. The room has two windows with traditional panelled shutters and window seats offering beautiful views over the River Coquet and the attractive bridges in West Thirston and Felton. There is also a chest of drawers/dressing table and wall mounted 19" LCD TV with freeview. The Second Bedroom has twin beds and a cast iron open grate fireplace and surround, a built in cupboard offering hanging space and a chest of drawers. Our bed linen is exceptional - the finest 100% Egyptian Cotton, all from the White Company. The modern Bathroom has a panelled bath with hand held mixer shower head plus electric shower over, shower screen, wash hand basin, low level WC, tiled walls and flooring, vanity mirror and heated towel radiator. There is on street parking available at the Cottage for the duration of your stay. There are no parking restrictions on any road or the bridge surrounding the property. There is also an off street parking area opposite the Cottage. Please note that one well behaved dog is welcome to stay at the Cottage.
Riverside Cottage was built around 1895 by the Duke of Northumberland. The area surrounding West Thirston and indeed the whole of Northumberland is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Village of West Thirston is separated from the village of Felton by the River Coquet that runs in front of the Cottage. Spanning the River Coquet are two bridges: Felton old bridge (pictured right) and Felton new bridge. The old bridge has now been pedestrianised and is scheduled as an ancient monument and as a building of architectural and historic interest. There is no definite date for this old bridge, but it or an even older bridge may have existed here since the 13th century. Whatever the date, it is a fine old bridge of three arches, Grade 2 listed, and widened at some time on the upstream side, probably in the 1800s. The new replacement bridge was built in 1926 and although not considered to be as attractive as the old bridge, it is itself a grade II listed construction. Even the telephone box next to the old bridge is grade II listed! Just over the bridge from Riverside Cottage is The Running Fox, a small, chic establishment nestled by the River Coquet. As well as offering it's own uniquely crafted cafe menu there is a new bakery on-site which serves a wide range of artisan breads, signature pies, traditional cakes and scones. The Running Fox is licensed to sell newspapers and also stock a small range of locally sourced produce and gifts from the surrounding Villages. Also within short walking distance of the Cottage are The Northumberland Arms which has undergone a stunning renovation and is already one of the top places to eat in Northumberland!

  • Lovely, tastefully decorated, immaculately clean cottage, cosy even in the depths of winter. Easy to find, convenient for a great gastro pub and fantastic cafe ( both a matter of steps away!) Lovely welcoming touches from host Andrew and we enjoyed watching the little birds out the back! Really lovely facilities, all to a very high standard. Everything you could expect at home and better!

  • We loved the cottage. Well furnished, good quality linen and the pocket sprung bed was as comfortable as our bed at home which we’ve never has before at any cottage we’ve stayed in. The welcome hamper was excellent. Kitchen was well equipped and everywhere was very clean. The nearby Running Fox cafe and bakery, the Foxes Den and The Northumberland Arms are all worth a visit.

We love holidays here with our family, and we know you will. You are Only minutes’ walk from the town centre in the friendly seaside town of Amble , nationally known as “The friendliest port” Our recently refurbished home is perfect for a relaxing break in Northumberland. The working harbour has a popular sunday market with fish and chip shops and a superb ice cream shop spurreli.com a ‘must do’ stop off whilst heading to the harbour. The boathouse seafood restaurant should not be missed!
A very clean and airy house with a lovely hand made kitchen table with quality friends and family time at the heart of its design. Recently refurbished from top to bottom, this perfectly located house is minutes walk to the pub (wellwood arms is our favourite), and all the amenities on Amble Main Street , from Tesco to local butchers , bakers , fresh seafood selling the best Northumbeland has to offer. Great kids park and skate park with football courts a 2 min walk will keep kids of all ages young and old .
Very peaceful location only a short walk from all of the action. free on street parking.
  • We had a great stay, spot on location for a short walk to the harbour with plenty of shops and great places to eat and drink. Parking was easy and the local Bus services easy to use too. It was very cold out during our stay but the house kept very cosy and there was plenty of hot water for baths and showers. Rik was very helpful, friendly and quick with communication. Great part of the country and a great base to explore from.

    Ellen2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at the property. Great location, close to amenities. House had everything you would need for a week away. Would definitely recommend!

  • Ideally located to the town - very clean , spacious living room and kitchen/ dinning area. Street parking without any problems. Rik responded very quickly to our queries. Would have no problems recommending for a break in Amble

  • Nice property in an idea setting

    Gordon2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great experience from start to finish, quick communication from Rik and easy check in instructions. The property is spacious and clean, ideally located 10 minutes walk onto Amble High Street (probably quicker without a giddy 3 year old on his bike) and then a stroll to the harbour. We know the area quite well anyway as we have family in Warkworth, but this gem of a place was perfect for what we needed. Kitchen looked new and the lounge was big enough to entertain a baby and toddler when the rain scuppered our plans. They even had an under stairs cupboard full of toys and books! Had to move a couple of candles out of kid’s reach for the stay, but would expect that anywhere we stay. So much to see in the area, we took in Preston Tower, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Barter Books in Alnwick and a lovely hot chocolate stop in Alnmouth. Would definitely recommend Rik’s place and book again!

    Helen2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice and clean house with all modern facilities. Location is in a quiet street within walking distance of shops; there is parking outside the house. Amble is nicely situated for visiting the Northumberland coast and inland areas. Folder left by Rik has lots of information.

    David2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rik was so helpful with suggestions and tips on where to eat and where to go. The house itself was beautiful, immaculate and it might sound odd to say but the sheets smelled really, really good. 😁 Great value for money and a lovely weekend away. Thank you!

  • What a fabulous vacation we had at this lovely house. The house had everything you needed and was very clean and comfortable, we quickly felt at home. It is a great base to explore the area and Amble itself is a quaint fishing village. The owner was lovely and gave us recommendations for things to do. Five stars to Rik the owner *****

  • A real little gem -beautifully decorated spotlessly clean and extremely welcoming. There were some thoughtful little touches - chocolate cake, fresh scones & treats for the dog! A great location with beautiful walks down into Warkworth. Jen is a wonderful host - very welcoming and helpful with advice & recommendations in respect of the local area. We felt very at home and definitely will be back.

  • Jennifer's Cottage is a well-thought out property, which is ideal for a couple. It is really well-equipped, immaculately clean and, even though we stayed during the February storms, warm & cosy. Also Jen is a perfect Airbnb host, being helpful without being intrusive. Hopefully it won't be too long until we're back for another long weekend in beautiful Northumberland and staying at the cottage.

    Jackie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this apartment for a very - last minute - 3 day trip, in January, with our dog & were delighted with it. It’s a 20min stroll along the riverside into the village, which has a few good pubs, cafes & shops to browse - as well as the castle. Jen provided all you could need for both humans & dogs; scones & cake for the humans, gravy bones & a ball for our 4 legged friend. The apartment was gorgeous, warm, cosy & comfortable. There’s a parking space right by the door & great walks from the doorstep (if you’re feeling energetic then walk along the coast/cycle path to super cute Alnmouth). Barter Books in Alnwick is a must both for the books & their great value food & is dog friendly. We ate in the Red Lion in Alnmouth (also dog friendly)as it was the only place open on a Monday in Jan, but both food & beer were superb. The Masons Arms in Warkworth looks like a place to avoid from the outside but is actually very nice inside plus they also serve a good pint & although we didn’t eat there the food looked tasty & again it’s dog friendly.

    Sheena2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cant fault this lovely little apartment. Spotlessly clean, quiet and a lovely walk into the village. Small but had everything you needed for a short visit. Home baking on arrival and biscuits for the dog.

  • Had a wonderful stay over Christmas with my partner and parents. The property is even more lovely and comfortable than the pictures, everything is spotlessly clean and the wet room (not in the photos) was perfect. The kitchen was the best appointed out of any AirBnB we’ve stayed in and the log burner gave the main living area a fantastic festive feel. Can’t recommend the place highly enough and we would come back in an instant. We were all sad to leave at end of the week, a memorable Christmas.

The accommodation is a basic cabin set in our private back garden, three minutes walk from Alnmouth railway station on the East coast mainline. It's a twenty minute walk or 5 minute drive to our beautiful local beach. You would sleep in the cabin and use the main house for bathroom/toilet and the kitchen for making drinks and snacks. The house is occupied by three of us- we have a lot of knowledge of the local area and we are active in the outdoors and indoors! (Running and circus mainly).
  • What an incredibly lovely, warm snd welcoming couple Andy and Lynn are! Highly recommended, especially if you're a runner and want to have a good running chat :). Couldn't have wished for a better place to stay overnight. Cabin is super cosy, house is lovely and the shower is possibly the best I've had in my life - but that may be trail legs talking ;). Just amazing!

    Manouk2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andy and Lynn’s family are just adorable, inspiring and full of positive energy! The shed itself is really clean, cosy and cute. It is actually bigger than I thought it’d be and I love every second spent in there. The location is great, only 5 mins walk from Alnmouth & 20 mins walk to the beach! Northumberland coast is just absolutely wonderful, the view from the cost is heavenly and really inspired me in loads of ways. I’m definitely coming back soon xxx

    Tiffany2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the house was very convenient to connect with buses and trains. The cabin was small but warm and confortable. The decortion inside made me a feeling of being in cozy holidays. Andy and Lynn were also very friendly and kind. I very enjoyed our inspiring conversations. Hope to revisit in the future.

  • Amble is a lovely little town which we are very glad to have discovered. Jen's house is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is perfect for visiting the beaches and castles as well as the many excellent cafes and restaurants. We were very happy to be able to park right outside the house and to be able to stroll out to eat in the evening. We were delighted with the scones and cakes that Jen left to welcome us to the house - very delicious and much appreciated after a long drive. We will definitely come back. Thanks again Jen.

    Celia2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week in Jen’s house on the harbour. Amble is an ideal base for the fantastic Northumbrian coast and it was great to come back to such a cosy house. The home-baked scones with jam and cream were a nice surprise and a welcoming treat. We thoroughly recommend Jen’s special place on the harbour and hope to be back soon.

    Steve2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. The extra touches were lovely

    Andrea2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely house right on the harbour, just moments walk from the local shops and restaurants - as well as the beach. Visiting an English beach town you do worry about the weather so it's great to have somewhere like this to retreat to. The personal touches were very thoughtful and I think this was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area, and advise them to order fish and chips from the cafe at the top of the street.

  • Just returned from a wonderful stay. As soon as we walked in (to a very warm, cosy setting with the fire already on!) everything exceeded our expectations. So many thoughtful touches and we couldn’t want for anything. Clean towels, shower gel, loo roll, washing up liquid - the works. Lovely breakfast basket that we really enjoyed - tiger bread, croissants, muffins, eggs, orange juice, jam, butter and milk. Probably more in there but that’s what we remember eating! You can tell this place is very loved. It felt like a home rather than somewhere you stay. Will definitely return. Thanks for a fab trip Julie and Jamie!

    Lorna2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

  • Many thanks for a enjoyable long weekend. Great location, close to amenities but also ideal for some great walks. The lodge was very clean and comfortable.

    Brian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights in The Secret Garden. The lodge was immaculately clean with lovely soft fluffy towels and robes. ( I’m very fussy). Alan and Olga’s communication before and during our stay was very impressive. We were welcomed with biscuits and a bottle of wine. It was great to have the American fridge freezer with an ice maker. The site itself is very calm and quiet. There is an on-site bar/pub/saloon but we didn’t try it. The hot tub area is very quiet and secluded. It was lovely and restful. They do have a sofa bed in the lounge, it’s not super comfortable but okay for a couple of nights if sharing the double bed isn’t practical. You may have to request extra bedding, we did and Olga delivered it within half an hour. Thank you Olga, much appreciated. Couldn’t fault anything about this place. Very impressed with the forceful shower in the en suite. Thanks again and for the extended check out time. Fab place and super hosts. .

She provided lots of personal touches that made a difference for us. she provided a mini hamper of things that would be needed as well as thoughtful things like sweeteners, (my partner is diabetic) as well as sweet treats (mini chocolates) to boost his blood sugar after walks. It was spotlessly clean and the living room view is divine. The picture does not do it justice. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. This is a must for anyone who appreciates a scenic view. Would definitely recommend to others and will also be going back .

The Cottage can be found in the charming village of Warkworth, a pretty village by the coast. The cottage is situated very close to Warkworth Castle and village; the location of the cottage is private with lots of space with easy dedicated parking.
The Cottage sleeps 2 and is perfect for couples without children although room enough for a baby. You would need to bring own baby equipment. One dog is welcome and lovers of wildlife will enjoy glorious walks around the river and castle surroundings.

Linden Lodge is an ideal base for exploring the breathtaking Northumberland countryside and coast. The lodge is 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of the pretty village of Longframlington with its two pubs (both serving food), the famous Running Fox teashop, a village store and butcher’s shop.
  • Lovely few days staying at Fram Park. Gerry’s lodge was even more spacious than expected and had everything you could need. The park is in a great location, both peaceful and picturesque, with easy access to roads heading both north and south for exploring the area. We’d happily stay here again if/when back in the area.

  • Linden lodge is an extremely well presented and comfortable lodge. It is ideally placed in the Northumberland countryside for exploring the counties national park, stunning coastline and incredible history. Gerry's communication was quick and helpful and we had no problem at all finding the accomodation getting in and settling down. I would recommend this accommodation to anybody who wants to see the best Northumberland has to offer.

    Martin2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

  • Excellent accommodation, in a good location. The lodge was spotlessly clean.. Very good value. The L9dge doesn't have any Wiifi in may ways 8t was nice to get away from this. Phone signal was good and a good selection of DVDs available.

A beautiful 19th century cottage, finished to a high standard with a contemporary twist. Situated in a quiet northumbrian village, yards away from the best pub in Northumberland. Overlooking rolling hills that can be enjoyed from the revolving summer house and decking. This cottage offers spacious rooms, two king size beds, separate dining, fully equipped kitchen, curved smart tv, and of course a cosy log burner. Excellent base for exploring Northumberland’s treasures.
Ethel's cottage is a quaint, spacious and charismatic cottage in the heart of northumberland. It has a homely with the cosy interior and the stunning garden views.
We are situated 5 miles from Alnwick, where you will find local amenities, there's lots to see including the famous castle and gardens. The beach at Alnmouth is only 8 miles away which also has an easy access to the mainline if you fancy a trip to Edinburgh. You have a wide range of coffee shops just a short car journey away, also award winning golf courses.
  • We would just like to say a big thankyou. Your cottage was perfect in everyway. And the prosceco and biscuits were a lovely idea. The view from the bedrooms were amazing. the cottage was very clean and was beautifully decorated. Amazing!! The location was spot on, a pub and restaurant down the road (2 mins) way, which we used a couple of times. The food was really good. Also the location of the cottage was perfect, close to the beach and other villages. We will definately be returning. Thank you Nigel and Debbie

  • What a fantastic cottage, hotel quality presentation, in a really beautiful location, spotless and well presented. We will miss waking up to that amazing view. Great for getting to all the local sights, its a dog walkers paradise. Plenty of space, cosy yet practical.

  • Lovely cottage, cosy, well appointed and fab location

    Rachael2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cosy cottage with stunning views. Great location for local beaches and towns. Brilliant pub at the end of the road with a great menu. We would highly recommend this cottage.

    Rebecca2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is simply stunning inside - the photos here don't do it justice. Gorgeous bedding/towels and lovely little touches, such as Christmas cushions and a bottle of prosecco left for us. Bedrooms are great with views over the countryside. The location is great for exploring all of Northumberland - we visited both country and coast. The pub in the village serves great food and is ideally only 1 minute down the road!

    Rebecca2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great property, with wonderful views.

    Lee2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ethels cottage is absolutely beautiful. It’s cosy yet deceptively spacious with a fabulous garden and views. The views from the bedrooms are stunning and a fantastic way to wake up. Being close to the A1 means there is so much to see and visit close by including beaches, woods, local walks and of course lovely Alnwick. I highly recommend and already look forward to returning.

    Ruan2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great, the perfect mix of modern, with beautiful bifold windows bringing the views inside upstairs and a lovely cosy cottage feel downstairs. Huge bath, plenty of kitchen utensils and a smart TV to keep us entertained suring those times we wanted to warm up by the log fire after long walks. Really close to a number of coastal towns, Beadnell and Alnmouth were personal favourites. Garden was great, easy parking, to the rear of the house and finally a couple of lovely touches with Christmas decorations and a welcome gift. Hope to be back again sometime!

The apartment is a converted Victorian Granary and is situated at the rear of Seafield House which is a prominent Georgian house on Northumberland Street. The Granary was added to the original house in the 1800's. Although The Granary is attached to Seafield House, it is completely self contained and has its own separate entrance. The views, from The Granary, across the estuary and beach are a constant source of attraction.
The Granary is ideal for couples.
You cannot fail to love Alnmouth. The Granary is located in the very heart of the village. The cafes, restaurants and pubs are all on the doorstep. However, The Granary is tucked away off the high street despite its close proximity. The beach is a stone’s throw away.
  • Lovely cosy flat in great location.

    Marguerite2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time in Alnmouth staying in the Seafield Granary. Lovely little flat which had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the WIFI worked well for streaming Netflix etc. The huge bed was very comfortable and the whole place was spotlessly clean! Lovely view of the estuary from the window. The flat is really in the centre of Alnmouth, and we didn't have any issues parking! Had a nice piece of cake and a cup of tea at the tea rooms opposite the flat. Also had a lovely meal at the Sun Inn. We always pay a visit to Barter Books when we holiday in this area, well worth a visit, only a short drive into Alnwick. This is a great base to explore the beautiful coast and surrounding area.

    Sarah2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Neil’s place was perfect for our romantic weekend away. And Alnmouth is delightful. I agree with other reviewers: the space is larger than the photographs suggest, the bed is extremely comfortable, and the location is fantastic.

    Alex2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great apartment, really clean, huge bed, kitchen had all the essential equipment for cooking. Perfect location to get to all the pubs in Alnmouth, and explore further afield. Neil was quick to respond to messages & flexible with arrival time to get keys etc. The photos online don’t do it justice, as it’s actually a lot bigger than we’d expected. 5 stars all round. Definitely recommend.

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay in a beautiful location, we spent each day exploring new places and then back to The Red Lion for drinks before heading home to Seafield Granary, a beautiful cosy place! Thank you

Self catering ground floor, studio apartment located centrally in the town of Amble. Close to all local amenities and excellently placed for those wishing to explore Northumberland. Newly refurbished Harbour Studio offers the option to stay in a King Size or twin beds. A third person can also be accommodated where required. There is kitchen space including fridge and microwave, a seating area, dining area and large en suite shower room.
Please note: whilst self catering the studio does not have an oven or hob. We offer a small kitchen area with sink, microwave, kettle, fridge and a George Foreman grill. The studio sleeps up to 3 people. The standard bed is super king. We are able to unzip this to make two single beds and a third person can be accommodated on a camp style bed should this be required. Secure, dry cycle storage available upon request.
Fondly named the 'friendliest port' Amble is an exciting little town to explore. The Marina and Harbour Village are close by and you are also only a short walk away from numerous pubs, eateries and coffee shops. Excellent as a stop over point for cyclists travelling the Coast and Castles route and keen bird watchers also enjoy a boat trip to Coquet Island.
  • This is the second or third time we have stayed here. Lovely bolt hole. Comfortable and so convenient for the harbour

    Shelagh2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Harbour Studio is a quirky and comfortable home from home accommodation in the beautiful town of Amble by the Sea. The studio is perfectly located for beach walks and exploring the harbour area. Lots of dog friendly places to eat and drink nearby too. The studio is perfect for a few nights rest and relaxation and we'll definitely be back gain soon.

    Russell2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay. The studio is more spacious than portrayed in the photos and is beautifully decorated. Lots of personal touches like the cereals, jams etc for breakfast along with some toiletries in the big bathroom. It is situated slightly out from the main shopping area which is good and although there is a pub across the road, it is a quiet area. You can hear the bed and breakfast comings and goings next door but it did not affect our stay. We would definitely recommend this place and would come back again.

    Ann2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A relaxing night spent and very accommodating host. Thank you.

    George2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the space, nice little bolthole for those travelling across Northumbrian Coast!

    Oliver2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great dog friendly studio. Much bigger than what it looks like on the pictures. Check in super easy and we found parking right outside the front door. It is a Main Street facing studio, so there was noise throughout the night, but for us it was manageable. Attached is a Bed and Breakfast and you can definitely hear movement from next door throughout the evening and morning as people come and go. This didn’t bother us, but if you want peace and absolute quiet this may not be for you. The location is great in the very cute village of Amble and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from literally 1-5 min walk away. If you’re bringing dogs, the space is great especially with wooden floors. And there’s plenty of floor space for the dogs to lounge after a long day of adventure. There is no garden/grass on the property, however across the street is a huge neighbourhood area that has lots of grassy area where we took them for a few walks during our stay here. You’re also literally 3 min from beach access as well. Would definitely recommend.

  • Harbour Guest House is ideally situated for a trip to Amble and the stunning Northumberland coast. Laura was very understanding when I arrived late due to a puncture! Clean, basic room. Paid extra for breakfast which was reasonably priced.

    Ruth2019-12-09T00:00:00Z

  • Laura's place was perfect for my short stay near Northumberland's fantastic birdwatching spots. The room was clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast very good. There were several good seafood eateries very close to her place on the pier. Laura's team were very welcoming - thanks!

    Alan2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse was very clean and breakfast worth the additional price. Staff made sure I was well attended and happy. Would recommend!

  • Laura and her mum will take good care of you. They are friendly and committed to providing a first-class B&B experience. The breakfasts are cooked to order and delicious. The location, right next to the Amble pier, is unbeatable. Don’t expect luxury at this price but, believe me, the hospitality, clean rooms, and location are all you will need to enjoy your stay in this lovely little town.
