Places to stay in Hamilton
Designed with relaxation in mind, our studio guest suite is set on 3 acres in the countryside of Hamilton. The space has a full kitchen, bathroom, living room with TV and a queen size bed with a premium memory foam topper. An outdoor gazebo by our private pond is perfect for morning coffee or watching a beautiful sunset. You can even try to catch some fish :) Holland, Saugatuck, Fennville & Allegan are all under 15 miles away with wineries, arts, dining, shopping, antiques, and Tulip Time.
With a private keyed entry, our walk out basement studio has a comfy queen bed, kitchen with the necessities for cooking, a bathroom with a shower, dinette set for an optional work space, and a living room with a 32" TV and DVD player (no internet here). Guests are free to access the large yard, fire pit, gazebo, grill and paddle boat. (Because of the pond, we ask that you sign a short waver upon arrival) Access is through a garage door and down 12 steps to a keyed slider door.
Hamilton is a small farming community that has restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store and we have a fantastic thrift shop that we recommend. Our home sits at the top of a hill and is truly a park like setting with lots of perennial flower landscaping. Watch for birds, squirrels, deer, and fox.
  • Faye was thoughtful about every detail and we instantly felt at home in the basement apartment. It was such an enjoyable stay!

  • At dusk, we clearly saw the upside-down reflection of a deer walking along the backyard pond. In the morning, snow blanketed the harvested fields. Inside, we were cozy by the fireplace and enjoyed our comfortable surroundings complete with fresh flowers just for us. The great breakfast fixings were more than adequate. And the special anniversary treats from Faye were very thoughtful! 100% excellent place to stay!

    Don2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Faye & Les are amazing hosts. We enjoyed the peaceful, quiet setting, the extra touches including snacks and fresh flowers. The pond on their property is beautiful and we enjoyed going out on the paddle boat for a ride. The bed was comfy, and the breakfast food left for us was perfect. Its a great location close to Holland and Saugatuck. Thanks so much Faye & Les, we would definitely enjoy staying again sometime.

  • Faye place is a rare fine. Very private and super clean. There were so many thoughtful touchs. Fresh flowers, games, movies plenty of towels boxes of Kleenex. The bed was super comfortable with plenty of pillows. She had plenty of snacks and breakfast foods. I would highly recommend a stay. Close to saugatuck and Holland

  • Beautiful home. Great hard. Firepit, the pond , the outdoor swing. Everything of the property was peaceful. There were added home touches to the house that made it more beautiful.

    Virginia2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing, much better than a hotel! Beautiful view overlooking the pond, and very spacious for it being a studio. Faye is an amazing host. We’d leave 6 stars if we could.

  • This visit was a gift for my in-laws. They had a wonderful time and really enjoyed their stay.

    Bob2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was outstanding for so many reasons! There was quick communication before the trip began and we were greeted by Faye and Les when we arrived. The space was a private unit on the bottom floor of the house complete with a private entrance, kitchen, bathroom and a patio. The property was gorgeous, too bad the weather didn't cooperate for us to take advantage of it! You could tell that Faye and Les put a lot of care into this Airbnb. There were homey decorations, fresh breakfast items, and an in-case you forgot kit in the bathroom. We would love to come back when the weather is warmer! Overall an A+ Airbnb for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat or looking to stay close to Holland.

Cedar walls, vaulted ceilings and an entire east wall of glass blend the house with its surrounding 2 acres of woods and river front. Extensive remodeling added rain shower and double vanity bath, cherry floors, granite counters and induction range to the kitchen. Snuggle in front of the fire, share wine on the screened deck, fish from the seawall, spot bald eagles circling the marsh, and listen to the ancient cries of the sand hill cranes without leaving the property.
Nestled in 2 acres of woods, with sweeping views of the Kalamazoo River and Pottawatomie marsh, Indian Point offers everything you need for a blissful get-away while being close to all Saugatuck has to offer.
  • This lovely cottage in the woods on the Kalamazoo River has absolutely amazing views and is just absolutely perfect for a relaxing getaway. If you are looking for a place to unwind, sit in a hot tub while looking out at the water, listening to the birds but also be close enough to the charming little town of Saugatuck which is full of unique little shops, yummy places to eat and friendly people, then Indian Pointe is the place for you. Also this place allows your furry family member to join you on your getaway which won it for us. Our dog, Bueller, is a part of our family and we loved being able to include him. This place has everything you could possibly need. Lynda has made it perfect with all of the amenities and the charming, welcoming decor. Being here for a winter getaway, we absolutely loved the hot tub and then sitting by the cozy warm fire. It was so relaxing. I also loved that their is a local bus that will pick you up and bring you into town for just a $1, if you don't want to drive. Saugatuck and the surrounding area offers so much to see and do and Lynda's place puts you in a perfect location to enjoy it all and allows for much relaxation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We hope to come back again someday, perhaps in the summer, to enjoy what else this place has to offer. However, for us it was a perfect little winter getaway. I didn't want to leave! Thank you again Lynda.

Although we used it just as a place to sleep, we took note of the convenient touches including coffee & tea, snacks, microwave and small fridge. Marie-Claude was very responsive and our stay went smoothly.

Nervous about traveling this season? Stay safely secluded away from other people here on Redbud Farm. The Granary, a beautiful, original building from the early 1900's refinished into a cozy guest cottage. Enjoy the gardens, and lounge around on the lovely 2 acre property. Hike down the 2-track and visit Miller Creek. A 25 minute drive takes you to Saugatuck, Fennville or Holland to enjoy all the tourism West MI has to offer. There's lots to see do without worry of over crowded areas! :-)
Looking forward to welcoming guests old and new in 2020. The Tulips and daffodils will be blooming soon! Don't let the fear of flu keep you down all summer. I'll be taking extra steps in fully sanitizing the space between each guest and plenty of soap, sanitizer, and lysol wipes will be provided. The Granary is your cozy and relaxing home away from home. You won't need to worry about crowds. Enjoy relaxing in a chair while smelling the flowers, stroll through the gardens, lounge in the hammock, swim in the pool, or even feed the chickens. If you're looking for more nature, you may walk the 2-track through the fields to find Miller Creek and the Rabbit River to the North of the Farm. Please respect the farmer's crops as well as the forest and leave no trace :-) If you like to golf, Diamond Springs golf course is just 2 miles away. I hear it is a great course with 18 holes. There are excellent restaurants and breweries within a 25 minute scenic drive. We're centrally located between scenic Saugatuck and Grand Rapids- Beer City USA. You'll find a list of restaurants and breweries in The Granary and I'm happy to answer any questions and give tips on local tourism. Staying away from restaurants? Pack a picnic or grab some take away and enjoy in privacy back on the farm.
There is nothing like life in the country. It is peaceful and beautiful. I love the green, the flowers, and that a traffic jam is a few cars stuck behind a tractor! The locals keep to themselves, although I have great relationships with my 2 closest neighbors. They would be happy to help in case of emergency. The neighborhood is very safe, I've never had or heard of a home or car break in during the 10 years I've lived in Diamond Springs. Burnips (north east ) or Hamilton(west) are the closest towns for a bite to eat, about an 8 minute drive. Both offer good diners for breakfast. If you don't mind sort of greasy all American menus they are fine for lunch or dinner as well, Burnips offers a restaurant/bar. There are two golf courses, Diamond Springs golf course is 2 miles and Lake Monterey golf course is 4 miles. There's the most AMAZING ice cream shop- Fantasy Twirl, just 5 minutes north- huge portions, low prices, and excellent ice cream quality! Horseback riding and wagon/buggy rides 5 minutes south at Wild West Ranch. Fawn Meadow Vineyards just a couple miles down my street (this is seasonal and they are not yet making wine). ..you pick grapes, and grape juice...a fun family stop. That's pretty much it for my neighborhood. Keep in mind that out in the country we measure our blocks in miles, so this is all within a two to eight mile radius from the farm. :-)
  • Emily's property is amazing. She has a TON of space to have a wedding, party, or otherwise have a great time. We stayed in the small granary room which had a bed, water, tea/coffee, and the compost toilet. Emily is an awesome host. She was extremely friendly when we got to spend some time with her. She has 3 or 4 "barn cats" who roam the property and they were precious. They welcomed us into the property and showed us to our room :P The house is a bit removed from the cities nearby but honestly it wasn't too bad. Holland is 25 minutes away (fantastic recommendations from Emily) and Grand rapids is 30-40 minutes. Either way, you'll enjoy the stay if you like staying in a quiet, beautiful location. If and when we make the 12 hour drive out to Michigan again, we'll be thinking of Emily's place first and foremost.

    Kyle2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s place was purrfect for unplugging and taking in the farm. The resident barn cats were super friendly and always around to greet us. We will be staying again fur sure.

    Sean2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wanna Get Away? Skip Southwest and head to The Granary at Redbud Farm. Emily is your Superhost with the super most. And she is assisted by a team of the friendliest felines you will ever find. The grounds are gorgeous, the sleeping arrangements quaint, the location ideal for those day-trips to Douglas / Saugatuck / Fennville. Do yourself a favor and look no further. You’ve found the one. Book it.

  • If you're looking for the most unique Airbnb around, you've come to the right place! What an awesome little place to stay! Great value, too! The bed was very comfortable! Coffee in the morning was a perfect way to finish our stay. Emily was friendly and informative. Highly recommended!

Great location less than a mile from downtown Holland, this is split level home and the entire upstairs is yours to enjoy! There are two spacious bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, and full bathroom exclusively for your private use. Great access to the restaurants, bars, and shops on 8th St in downtown Holland as well as Hope College, the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan, and everything else the area has to offer.
Eclectic, clean, cozy, and neat with mid-century modern accents. For the summer months, there are two A/C units (one in the living area and one in a bedroom). The kitchen is small but sufficient to prepare meals if that is your desire. The space, like the hosts, are welcoming and down to earth.
Friendly, working class, safe, close to downtown
  • An amazing deal for the great location and cute space! Super clean and well decorated!

    Charley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great space-comfortable beds, kitchen stocked with yummy tea and coffee. We did not cook but the kitchen appeared to be ready for cooking some simple meals. Bathroom and shower were very handy and the living room was a beautiful sunny -comfortable spot for relaxation. It was a quiet neighborhood. Overall a great stay!

  • Came to Holland for one night to see a concert. Walking distance to downtown was what we were looking for. This place was perfect, 12 minute walk to Park Theater. The apt was bigger than I expected and great that it has a little kitchen too. Easy to check in and great host communication.

    Samantha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Though we only got to stay for one day, the accommodations were perfect. Beds were comfortable, tea in the kitchen was so welcomed, everything was clean, and the check in process was made so easy by the pictures provided. Really nothing bad at all to say about this! We loved it!

We offer a basement suite, located in a quiet neighborhood. Our goal is to provide a comfortable,“Dutch clean”, friendly accommodation, at a very reasonable price. This is a great place to stay while visiting family or friends, exploring the wonders of West Michigan, or while on a business trip. We are conveniently located about 2 miles from Hope College and historic downtown Holland which offers a great assortment of shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries, and a farmers market to experience.
Our basement suite consists of a BR with a queen bed, a private bath, and a LR that has a kitchenette at one end. The LR has a sofa and 2 chairs plus a small table and chairs for eating. We can accommodate 2 extra persons by setting up a Frontgate inflatable queen size air bed in the basement LR. An additional person is welcome to make a bed on the couch. We are licensed in the city of Holland as a short term public lodging facility, certificate #CSTR18104.
This is a classic all-American neighborhood in a heavily wooded section of town. We live on a cul-de-sac with lots of kids playing on the streets in nice weather. If you're here more than a day you'll likely meet some of our good neighbors.
  • Exactly as advertised -- Kathy and Jim love hosting people and are welcoming, friendly, and interested in getting to know their guests. The place was clean and tidy. The breakfast snacks were an added bonus. We appreciated the use of their iron and ironing board. Coming and going was easy, even when we were out late in the evening. Because it is a basement suite, there are definitely noises audible from upstairs. It didn't bother us, but if you are a visitor hoping to sleep in, it will help to be a sound sleeper! Very thoughtful hosts, would recommend.

    Hanna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

    Bridget2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed an impromptu trip and thoroughly enjoyed the ice flows in the channel and the sunset!

    Kimberly2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • There place is immaculately clean. It is close and convenient to downtown Holland and only 15 minutes away from West Olive or Saugatuck. Kathy and her family are very friendly and welcoming. They invite you into their lovely house and you stay in their Lower level/finished basement. Doesn’t feel like a basement, it has a private bedroom, bathroom/shower, couch, mini fridge, table, and tv. She generously leaves light breakfast stuff, bottled water, and cookies for her guests. Her family do stay there while you are there so it’s not a 100% private place, but it didn’t bother us because we mainly were there just to sleep. They keep to themselves, but if you want to talk and share stories, they will invite you upstairs to get to know each other. We will definitely be back for our next visit! Lovely awesome place!

    Marzena2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Maureen’s and Ed’s house. I can highly recommend it. Maureen and Ed are very friendly, down to earth, and helpful, but you can have all the privacy that you want or need. There are two beds in two different bedrooms and Maureen tells me that she only rents out one at a time. I only mention this because one bed has a very soft memory foam mattress and the other is a bit more firm, so if you decide to stay here maybe you should check out the two beds by sitting on them and then decide which room you would like. I found the memory foam mattress much too soft when I sat on the bed, and my hosts had already gone upstairs to bed, so I made the decision to switch bedrooms. Fortunately, this did not seem to bother Maureen when I told her the next morning. They made me coffee and Maureen fixed me some eggs and gave me a really great, homemade muffin to eat for breakfast.

The perfect winter getaway. Unplug and unwind in one of our cozy waterfront cottages. Built in 2017 these cottages have the charm of a tiny house and quiet setting of the perfect retreat. Situated on 90 acres of deciduous forests, grassy sites and hiking trails, TriPonds Resort has multiple cottages that are available for use through the winter months. We live on site and love to share the beauty of the outdoors with our guests. (Remember to stay off frozen ponds as ice may be thin).
  • Great spot. Will come back.

  • The cabin was just as described on the listing. It was clean and comfortable. Check-in was simple. We had everything we needed and were pleasantly surprised at the quality. Fresh towels and bedding, clean dishes, even a shovel for snow/ice out front. Perfect weekend getaway for our family. Will stay again.

  • Enjoyed our experience so much we extended it through the season... thanks again for everything

    Savannah2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very nice, the firepit was a great option, quiet, peaceful, with very nice views, everything was as advertised and expected. Our 2yr old loved the Halloween candy, a very thoughtful addition. We would and probably will stay here again.

  • The stay was absolutely lovely. We had to extend the stay, coz it wasn’t enough for just two nights. That says a lot. The location is stunning and the hospitality is commendable. One of the best weekends.....

  • We spent a fantastic time at cottage #8. The kids enjoyed the heated pool, the lake, the kayaks, the yard games and sleeping in the bunk beds. As adults we loved being in a quiet spot but just minutes away from downtown. There was everything we needed in the cottage. We loved spending time in the sun room and outside on the lawn chairs near the barbecue.

  • This is the second time I've stayed at John's place - so that should give you an idea of what I think about it. He's a great host and the property is gorgeous. I could not recommend this experience more strongly.

    David2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • John was a wonderful host who made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The house and grounds were lovely and we were unexpectedly treated to home-made scones, coffee and engaging conversation. very good value for our money and we'd go back in a heartbeat!

  • My partner and I had a wonderful weekend getaway at John's gorgeous cabin. John welcomed us on Friday evening with a glass of wine and provided great suggestions for exploring the area. It was perfect for out weekend retreat into the Michigan woods. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Kristin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautiful, clean and in a peaceful setting. John was always accessible and prompt in communicating. My favorite part of the day was good coffee, great scones that were made from scratch and fresh baked, and the time spent visiting with John and Marvin. The location offers quiet in a country setting, but it's not far from Saugatuck. On my drives to town I spotted turkey and a pheasant. I hope to stay with John again in the future and would highly recommend his home to others.

    Diana2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • John's home is so beautiful, the space is very nice and modern set right in the woods, I loved it here and didn't want to leave. I would reccomend staying here a millions times.

The Birds Nest is an above-the-garage studio apartment with a view of the valley and our working farm. Located at the end of a quiet dirt road, our 36 acres provide a respite for the body and soul with trails and vistas, and engage the mind in sustainable agriculture with a tour and tasting of our farm-crafted cordials ($25 value, incl. w/stays of 2+ nights). Easy access to both Grand Rapids and the lakeshore's farm-to-table restaurants, many of which we supply with fresh greens all year.
A working farm that has been in our family for 114 years located on the southern half of Mud Lake. Please be aware that this is a farm, and we do have a well for our drinking water. It will not smell like chlorine (like municipal water), but is tested regularly and is completely safe. We have a whole-house water softener, a filter on the shower, and reverse osmosis water in the kitchen. The Bird's Nest has 1 queen-sized bed and 1 full-sized futon. It can acommodate up to 4 guests. We've listed as not suitable for children under 12 (Airbnb's age window for this option) due to an open staircase in the listing (see photos for reference). Please let us know if you plan to bring younger children, and take whatever precautions you feel are necessary.
Hudsonville is located half-way between Holland and Grand Rapids.
  • Perfect place to relax and unwind. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The tour of the farm is informative and fun. Kris & Steve are perfect hosts. The house is in the country but close to everything too. Highly recommend to stay at this Cozy Nest.

    Julee2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect New Year's getaway for two. Kris and Steve were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond, and the cordial tasting and tour of their greenhouses was a real treat. The Bird's Nest itself was comfortable, pleasant, well-equipped, and spotlessly clean, and the surrounding countryside was beautiful in winter. All in all, a great experience.

    Stephen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Bird’s Nest was the perfect stay, and Kris & Steve we’re extremely friendly and accommodating. Not to mention, the amazing work they do on their farm is impressive. Their sodas, cordials, and green leaf lettuce were delicious! I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and inspiring getaway.

  • Perfect fit for us. Great games, movies, hot tub and easy check-in. Lisa was kind and helpful. She even let us check out late because she didn’t have another guest coming.

    Natalie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great host! She gave us a tour of the place and showed us how to use everything. Everything was clean and comfortable.

    Ashley2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s space is amazing. We stayed there because my son had a wrestling tournament at West Ottawa and we didn’t want to leave the dog home alone. When we first got there, she had a note on the door welcoming me, my sons and my dog. Not only did she allow pets, she offered to let him out for us while we were gone. There was a huge choice of board games as well as a stack of DVD movies for when you’re stuck inside. She gave me a garage door opener and told me that I was welcome to park in her garage. I wasn’t here to sight see as I only live about 45 min north but had I, she would have had it covered. She had all kinds of brochures and information on what’s going on around town. On the table she had a map of Holland so you know where to go. She also drives for Uber so if you need a DD she’s there for you. Oh, and did I mention she had home made cookies on the counter for us? A+

    Samantha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This home is exceptional. Beautiful home! Very very clean! Lisa is a gracious, very friendly wonderful host that goes out of her way to make sure your stay is comfortable! Pet friendly which is super. I highly recommend staying at this lovely home!

  • Lisa is an outstanding Host. Communication is super efficient. She's super thoughtful and it is reflected all around her place. We loved the jacuzzi and the Grill. Lisa made sure we had everything to enjoy those 2 amenities. Her place is spotless and she honestly provides anything that you might need to have a great stay, from towels, board games and coffee to an electric/gas grill. Also, she has a beautiful garden. Lisa gave us a couple of her fresh vegetables that we used in our BBQ. Overall we're fully pleased. There's nothing I can think of that I didn't like about Lisa's place.

Welcome to our wonderful family home. It is a classic 3 bed/2 bath on a tree-lined street in downtown Holland, next to Kollen Park and Lake Macatawa. The home gets excellent natural light and offers gorgeous lake + park views from multiple rooms in the house & outside deck. It has just been beautifully renovated on both levels including kitchen, living room, floors, furniture, and appliances. We are easy walking distance to all of downtown + the fantastic 8th St. Farmers Market on Saturdays.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, as well as a full large bathroom and ample space for bags and personal items. Downstairs there is a library/sitting room, a dining room, a bedroom, a full bathroom, a living room/tv room, a kitchen, and a small pantry. There is also an outside patio deck off of the living room/tv room, with outdoor chairs and a table, plus an enclosed sun porch as well.
You can walk anywhere in/around town from the house. Kollen Park is across the street. The lakefront is 200 yards from the house. Within 8 blocks is all of the downtown area.
  • Beautiful old nostalgic home in Holland, about 5 block walk to downtown. Very clean and kept up, we stayed in February and the house was warm and cozy all over. Beds were super comfortable, we actually slept in! Bathrooms were updated and exceptionally clean. Would definitely recommend!

  • We stayed here for our 4th anniversary. It was such a sweet and cozy place to stay with a great view. We would totally stay here again!

    Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything here was as depicted. Nice and clean. There is road noise, but it is tolerable. Check in and out is seemless and in the summer being so close to the water would be wonderful.

    Matt2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house in a prime location! Easy to check-in and park. Spacious and clean. Short walk to the park or to grab a drink/food at the Boatwerks, and a short drive to Downtown Holland. Keep in mind it is an older house, so you can hear a bit of the street noise and also occasionally some movements within the house. (This wasn't a problem for us as we were all getting up early at the same time.) Upstairs bedrooms are best for those who don't have any trouble with stairs, as the staircase is a bit narrow. First floor bedroom is easily accessible. There's also a great office space if you need to do some work. Lots of extra blankets and such if you get a bit chilly in the Michigan winters. We would love to come back during the summer to really enjoy the proximity to the lake!

  • My husband and I were looking for something a bit more relaxing than a hotel when visiting our daughter at Hope this time. This cute house was perfect! It’s VERY clean, and tastefully decorated just like the pictures in the listing. Lynelle was a warm and welcoming host and was happy to answer all of our questions. We will definitely be back!

    Brenda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lynelle’s home was exactly what we needed! It was clean, cozy, and close to downtown Holland. She was quick to communicate, and even made sure the snow was cleared before we got up in the morning. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we loved the decor. I highly recommend staying here for your Holland stay!

While we are committed to providing you with great accommodations, we think you'll find everyone in Saugatuck/Douglas is hoping you'll make this a getaway you, your friends and your family will return for year after year.
  • The defining variable why I booked this air bnb was to try the shower and it was so worth it! Really upped my shower game. The room itself is also very nice, with touches of luxury- and there’s a great pizza shop across the street! The hosts were very communicative, which ease any confusion there is to be had at a new air bnb. They were awesome!

    Raedene2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! Eric was a great host! It’s in a neat spot in Douglas just across the bridge from Saugatuck. We were a block away from some great places and the nearby pizza place was perfect for a late night snack! They also had great recommendations on things to do in the area as well. The space was small and stylish and much better than any hotel you could book. We definitely will stay again next time we are in town!

    Mandi2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This space was perfect for what we needed. The design of the room was absolutely stunning. It was also a quick drive over the bridge to Saugatuck and not too far from Holland. Also, the complimentary robes were a nice comfy touch. If you’re doing a short trip with one or two people, this is a perfect size and location. One recommendation I would have would be a microwave to accommodate for the lack of kitchen, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again.

    Lauren2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cute, and totally affordable! The shower is an extra bonus too!

    Gabrielle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed several times at Eric’s place and will continue to do so in the future 👍

    Ron2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little suite. So stylish and comfortable. Location is fantastic - right in downtown Douglas but close enough to walk to downtown Saugatuck (0.8 miles). This place was just as described. We truly enjoyed our short stay and hope to return!

100 steps to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts/Theater. You're 'in town' without the traffic and congestion. Located in a quiet, tree lined neighborhood, you'll enjoy the peaceful setting and the opportunity to let your feet take you to all of Saugatuck's attractions including downtown shops, restaurants, the riverfront boardwalk, parks, marinas and art galleries. Two bedrooms/two baths is perfect for a family or couples. Fenced-in backyard is wonderful for relaxing, dining and pet time!
The living room has a wonderful picture window that affords a full view of the front yard. The adjacent dining room has seating for six. A 40" LED TV is viewable from both the living and dining rooms. The master bedroom features a private bathroom along with an Olympic Queen Sleep Number bed and a 28" LED TV. The second bedroom is equipped with a 28" LED TV and two twin beds. A queen sofa sleeper is available in the living room for an additional guest. The full featured kitchen is equipped with a gas range/oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator along with ample counter space. For your convenience, a stacked washer and dryer is available. Convenient off street parking with room for an RV or your boat and trailer.
"Upper Mason Street" as we like to call it is "on the hill" in the City of Saugatuck. This area of Mason Street is a quiet, residential area with a nice mix of year round and seasonal residents. We tend to not see the constant flow of traffic that other streets experience as upper Mason and lower Mason streets are connected with a stairway. This stairway is very close to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts/Mason Street Warehouse Theater.
  • A great find in a great area! Terry has really gone above and beyond in regard to the amenities and little touches he's provided in the house. Stylish and clean, the house has a comfortable feel and has everything you could want. The location allows great access to the shops in the area, and the local tips and suggestions that Terry provides are wonderfully thoughtful.

    Jessica2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, 2 blocks is not a lie you can walk to so may shops and restaurants in under 15 minutes. The yard is a great size, the house is very clean, the water pressure in the shower is fantastic! If Terry’s place isn’t booked and your looking at it, jump on it.

    Christina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best airbnb's that we have stayed at. The host Terry was helpful and always available when we needed something. Very clean and awesome house to stay in!

    Matthew2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnB stay and was fantastic! We couldn't have asked for anything better. We really appreciated Terry welcoming our pup, too. Highly recommend!!!

  • This place is not huge but we are a family of four and felt fine. It is very, very well kept with everything you could possibly hope for in a place like Saugatuck. Location relative to downtown top, clean, very well equipped, great communication. It was our second stay here and we would book it again in a heartbeat.

    Karl2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's place is awesome! It was spotless and equipped with everything we needed for a nice vacation. We enjoyed the electric fireplace and cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend!!

    Heather2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is an immaculately kept home in a quiet neighborhood with wonderful amenities. Downtown is just a short walk away to restaurants, shops and the like. Terry was an excellent host, very helpful and friendly. Our dogs loved the back yard! We hope to visit again soon!

    Robert2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • In my personal opinion, this is as good as it gets. Very clean space and you can feel that a lot of thought has gone into how to make the stay for the guests as comfortable and smooth as possible. We throughly enjoyed our visit and would choose this place and location again any time.

Beautiful, fresh, open studio on the Hutchins Lake Channel. Private dock and boat launch available. Keypad entrance through garage with private, keyed entrance to guest suite above the garage. Parking onsite for up to 2 cars. Accommodations for up to 3 adults. Local attractions include: SAUGATUCK 10 mi Crane's U Pick Orchard , Winery, & Restaurant 2.5 mi Lake Michigan (West Side County Park) 7 mi Holland & South Haven 17 mi in either direction
Our 800 sq ft guest suite overlooks the channel on Hutchins Lake and just got a fresh coat of paint with new wood-look vinyl flooring. Guests will park in the grass on the side of the house (maximum of 2 cars) and walk approximately 40 steps to the garage entrance. There is a full flight of 15 stairs up to the guest suite, where you will have your own keyed, private entrance. Living area includes a love seat, 40 in flat screen TV with a Smart BlueRay player. Dine at the high-top table with two stools overlooking the channel. Private bathroom with 2 sinks, bathtub, toilet, and linen storage. You can use the breakfast bar and stools or high top table for your laptop (there is not a desk in the studio currently - will add one eventually). Full kitchen includes standard refrigerator, electric stove/oven, microwave, sink, and breakfast bar (no dishwasher). We provide a Keurig coffee machine, k-cups, tea, sugar, and non-dairy creamer. WiFi access is also available. There is a queen size air mattress with linens available. Please just ask us and we'll have it ready for you! Guests can walk around to the back of the house and enjoy the shared deck, grill, back yard, and dock (see rules if traveling with children or bringing lake toys or watercraft). Access to laundry is negotiable- let's discuss if you need it!
We live on a channel on an inland lake called Hutchins Lake. The channel is ideal for fishing (including ice fishing in the winter) and use of most types of watercraft, though please note, it is a no wake channel. The lake is a full recreational lake where people are often found doing anything from boating in pontoon boats, deck boats, bass boats, jet skis, or even kayaking or stand up paddle boarding. We have our own private dock. The private boat launch for those who live in our area is next door. If you are bringing a boat, you must sign a waiver, and also must follow all Hutchins Lake rules. Our home is on a private dirt road (at the bottom of a hill). During winter/colder weather, the road may become icy or snow packed. AWD, 4WD, or good snow tires will typically get you in and out (but without one or all of those, it may be tricky if not impossible to traverse the hill - up or down). We love children (we have grandchildren!), but living on the water can be dangerous with children, especially if they are young or cannot swim. If you are traveling with children, you must agree to supervise your children at ALL TIMES when in the back yard especially, sign a waiver for each child, and all children must wear a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) at all times when in our back yard (except on the deck), especially when on the dock, or near the waterfront.
  • Stephanie and Jerry are wonderful hosts, there are so many thoughtful touches, it is clear they put a lot of effort into making this space wonderful. And, as a bonus we had a lovely lake view and the ice fishers were out in force when we stayed! Thank you!!

    Chelsea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place to spend the night of our wedding!!! Highly recommend this to any couples that are looking for a sweet little oasis! It was so clean and cute!!

    Missy2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie & Jerry were very helpful and informative. The little touches from leaving us a note on their dry erase board to the snacks/beverages avaliable in our room were so sweet. We appreciated the kind gesture. The studio is very spacious and beautiful. My husband was in awe and inspired by the layout, decor, etc. If they worked in the garage, we couldn't tell since we couldn't really hear them or the train. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency and they were very kind to check on us. Their neighborhood is nice and quiet. We got to meet a neighbor when we saw the neighbors dog off the leash. Nice people! We will definitely book again.

    Alexis2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • One of the cleanest spaces I’ve ever stayed at. Very quite neighborhood and amazing hosts.

    Kayla2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Jerry's place was fantastic. It was clean and cozy, with all the amenities you might ever need! The view over the lake was amazing, especially with the fall colors. Great place to stay while doing all the fun activities in the area -- visiting wineries, breweries, u-pick apple farm, corn maze, etc. We loved it!

    Jessica2019-10-27T00:00:00Z

The Dining Room table comfortably seats six and is adjacent to the Living Room and Kitchen.
We are located on beautiful South Shore Drive. You must treat yourself to a drive or a stroll down this beautiful street winding along Lake Macatawa to see the lovely homes and views of the lake. Follow it to the end and see "Big Red", Michigan's most photographed lighthouse. There is a coffee shop, restaurants, bakery, Convenience store and video rental all within a few blocks. Just a few minutes by car and you are in Downtown Holland, which boasts many boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops, a fantastic farmer's market, Central Park, and Hope College. • This is the perfect place to get away! The house is beautiful, comfortable, spotless, and so inviting. You won’t find nicer hosts anywhere!

    Carolyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Deb and Gary were such gracious hosts. Their guest suite, guest bath and sitting room that is offered to guests, is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. Very comfortable. And if you’re lucky enough to be around the home for conversation, the rest of their home is just as charming. Access to the kitchen for morning coffee and tasty continental breakfast offerings, was a wonderful start to our morning. Deb offered recommendations on local restaurants and a cross country ski area, which both turned out to be excellent choices for us. We were so happy we chose their home for our get away. We 100% recommend to other quests.

    Angela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Superb. Spotless, easy check-in, beautiful, comfortable home. Deb was a wonderful hostess. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our conversations with Deb and her sister. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • This is an ideal place to stay when visiting Saugatuck. Very close to downtown but quiet and peaceful. The space is cozy and beautifully decorated with original art. The hosts are generous, thoughtful, and very responsive to questions. Very highly recommended!

  • Ed and his wife, Linda are so friendly! From start to finish helpful and had advice. Menus in the room of some of their favorite places to get ideas where to visit and multiple maps in the house of the town, state and layout of the house to help you get acclimated.

    Ashley2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Linda are very accommodating and generous hosts. It was a pleasure speaking to them in the common areas, I was also welcome to watch tv on big screen with surround sound in the living room. They had suggestions on places to go adventure and local eateries. Overall a nice comfortable experience. Thanks

    Allison2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Edward's place was impeccably neat and clean so you could really relax and feel at home. Everything was exactly as described in the listing, and it worked out perfectly for our trip, with a super convenient location for exploring Saugatuck (the rain kept us from taking the bikes out, but it would have been a very easy ride that way). And even though Edward was out of town at the time, he was very communicative, welcoming, and helpful, so there was never any worry about check-in, or questions about the house, etc.

It was wonderful that coffee and a delicious bfast was minutes away. I bought things to cook, but the meals in town were so yummy we ended up bringing most of our groceries home Lol! Great spot and great value. 5 stars all around.

Welcome to Pure Michigan! Enjoy your cottage oasis and escape from it all. Nestled among a group of 4 cottages, you will fall in love with this inviting and luxurious Michigan experience. Come see why Saugatuck has been named one of Americas best small towns year over year and home to some of the finest beaches in the great lakes.
If you’ve stayed with Rob and Eric before, you know we only offer amazing well cared-for properties, in the best locations, extremely well appointed, and with great communication from your hosts. We love our properties, we love our guests, and we want you to have an amazing stay with us. We are very excited to add to our portfolio this awesome group of cottages, in the perfect location if you’re visiting Saugatuck/Douglas. This property has it all - plenty of space per guest, tons of space to enjoy outdoors, relax under the stars in your own private hot tub, shared grills/firepit and you're just minutes from downtown shopping/eating, and beaches. This cottage has a great open floor plan – the kitchen/dining area, and living room all flow from one to the next with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the rear private patio/hot tub. The cottage also features a natural gas fireplace that sits at the head of the living room, and offers a 49" Smart TV above the mantle. If the location and amenities aren't enough, you’ll enjoy a blissful night’s sleep and wake up refreshed on our top of the line beds – all of the beds offer premium sateen sheets, feather pillows and feather down duvets. You won’t find any scratchy over bleached linens here! Here is an overview of the sleeping spaces and bathrooms: - Bedroom 1 - Queen - Bedroom 2 - Queen - Living Room – Queen Sleeper Sofa - Bathroom – Tub/Shower Combo, Toilet & Sink In the bathrooms, you will find plenty of amenities including hand soap pumps, shower pumps dispensing shampoo, conditioner & body wash, and a full amenity tray. We stock plenty of plush bath towels, and you’ll even find bathrobes in closets for use during your stay. We cook… a lot! So we couldn’t imagine offering you a poorly stocked kitchen…. This kitchen has tons of cabinets and ample counter space… and lucky for you, we’ve already got the cabinets stocked with all the utensils, serving dishes and small appliances you’ll need to make and serve a full meal. Our most common questions regarding the kitchen are about coffee makers and toasters. The toaster is a 4-slice, and the coffee maker uses coffee grounds and has a wire mesh reusable filter. If you’re hoping to have everyone sit down at a table for a meal, the dining room table is an adorable booth and bench which can accommodate up to 6, while still leaving plenty of room for serving space. As for appliances- everything is stainless steel and includes a double basin sink, dishwasher, electric range, over the range built-in microwave, and of course a refrigerator with an automatic ice maker. Worried about having enough hot water? We have you covered there as well by utilizing a tankless hot water heater! This home also offers both a private front deck, and private rear deck. Both are great, but we think of the front as one to keep an eye on the action (or the kids), and the back more private for relaxing in or out of your private hot tub. On the common grounds you'll see plenty of grass to set up your own yard games, and you'll also find a shared fire pit (fire wood not included), and shared propane grills (propane provided). Now that we know this is an amazing property, let’s talk about the location... Our most common question is about the home’s proximity to the beach and downtown. Douglas Beach is along Lakeshore Drive, and while it has limited parking, this free cliff-style beach accessible by stairs is only 3.2 miles from the home. Once there, on the upper level you can also enjoy a nice walk along the coastline of beautiful Lakeshore Drive – amazing views of Lake Michigan and its beautiful sunsets will be on one side, and some really amazing homes on the other. But if you’re coming here for the beach, you probably want to check out award winning Oval Beach. If Oval is your destination, it really doesn’t matter where you stay in town, as long as you pick a property between the two main exits for Saugatuck/Douglas (exits 36 & 41). With the town being so small, the driving time to Oval Beach will be roughly the same for every vacation rental in town, give or take a few minutes. I say this because there is a long stretch of winding/wooded country drive approaching Oval Beach that is really not designed for pedestrians, and with this area being so small, no property really has a big “Oval Beach” advantage since you really need to arrive there on some wheels. It’s a gorgeous beach, but plan to drive or take the “Interurban Oval Beach Shuttle” from town if you are going. As for exact distances… - Douglas Beach is 3.2 miles from this home - Oval Beach is 4.2 miles from this home - Oval Beach is 3.2 miles from downtown Saugatuck - Downtown Saugatuck is 1.0 miles from this home - Exit 36 off of Highway 196 is 2.9 miles from this home - Exit 41 off of Highway 196 is 1.8 miles from this home We do not discriminate based on age, race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, disability, national origin or any other reason people have found to discriminate. All are welcome in our home!! We believe in equality for everyone. Our home is a place where all should feel safe and be able to enjoy the beauty of Michigan.
Maple Street runs along the east side of downtown, parallel to Blue Star Highway, and is a great location to make home base for your stay! In the warmer months you might choose to walk into downtown- it maps at exactly a mile to the Saugatuck Center For The Arts, but in inclement or extreme hot/cold weather, it might be better to stick to the car (or make dad drop you off so you don’t have to fight for parking)! Unsure if you’re looking at the right properties for your visit to Saugatuck/Douglas? Let us help…. so, if you’re looking to visit Saugatuck/Douglas, zoom in near Saugatuck using the map program of your choice, and you'll see highway 196, exit 36 (Douglas exit just south of Saugatuck Brewing Company). Near exit 36, if you look along the Michigan coastline, you’ll see a street called Lakeshore Drive. Notice as you follow it south, it dead ends… cuts off… for us, that’s the “end of the world”. Ideally you want to be north of this cutoff when you make your vacation rental selection if you’re visiting Saugatuck/Douglas. No matter what city your map program thinks you’re in, if you’re north of this break in Lakeshore Drive, you’re in Saugatuck or Douglas. This is right near the border of Fennville, and with many of these being private drives, the map programs don’t have all of these addresses correct. On the North side, you can follow 196 on the map up to the next exit (exit 41 – Saugatuck exit near Burger King and the new Guardian Brewery), and feel comfortable selecting properties anywhere along the way between exits 36 & 41. On the east side, I’d probably try to stay West of 63rd St, and definitely west of 58th St. This is a really small area, so one good thing about staying closer to far edges of this area I described is that you likely will get a more secluded and relaxing experience in your vacation rental, while still being super-close to downtown/restaurants/beaches/etc.. of course staying near town has its perks too- you can ditch the car and walk to food/bars/shopping/etc. This particular property is just east of downtown Saugatuck, right in the center of everything, so you'll enjoy easy access to both downtown Saugatuck and Douglas, Douglas & Oval Beaches, Dunes State Park, and everything else you would want to explore and enjoy in town..... but..... you're far enough outside of downtown, that heavy pedestrian and car traffic, and parking won't be a problem!

  • We had a great stay at your charming little cottage is Saugatuck. It was comfortable and spacious at the same time. The hot tub was a great way to spend some time outside despite the rainy weather and I imagine it would be an amazing spot for stargazing on a clear night. Check-in and check-our were simple and very well detailed. We would love to come back for a relaxing weekend away again soon!

We will work with you to customize your stay to your individual needs. We invite you to join our family of delighted Cobblestone Cottage guests! About the owners: Lifelong Holland residents and high school sweethearts have owned this home together since their marriage in 2002. The home was lovingly (well, mostly lovingly) renovated by this engineer and artist, and welcomed each of their six children in the years to follow! So full of memories and craftsmanship, the home was deemed too precious to sell. When the family moved nearby for the necessary extra bedrooms (and bathroom) (ok, and Lake Michigan views), the Cobblestone Cottage vacation rental was born! The home is surrounded by neighbors known and loved by the family, and your rental allows the family to still roam the streets of their nostalgic first home. Thank you!
Historic homes, kind neighbors, walking proximity to waterfront, boardwalk, local restaurants, and downtown.
  • I was lucky to stay in a place as beautiful as this cottage! It was very clean, spacious, and in a great location to be able to walk to multiple parks and walk to the Mainstreet in downtown Holland. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom warm with all amenities I would need, and the kitchen well stocked with utensils if I wanted to prepare any food. If I ever come back to Holland, I would definitely stay at the cottage!

  • Super clean and tidy! Everything was so clean and tidy, and when we walked into the bedroom you could smell how fresh and clean the bedding and room was. Just the kind of thing you want when on vacation. The house was on a quiet street, very centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Kelli was also super helpful in providing ideas for places to eat and for recreation with our five year old, and quick to respond to messages. Everything was so easy, and made our trip so effortless.

  • Kelli’s place was perfect for our anniversary getaway! Cozy cottage. It was just enough for the two of us and was very clean! Very close to downtown Holland and short drive to Saugatuck. We were able to walk to best breakfast in town at The Biscuit! Can’t wait to come back and explore in the summer!

  • John’s place is the pinnacle AirBnB experience - incredible house, beautiful scenery and surrounding area, and a wonderful host more than willing to offer recommendations in the local area and even bake delicious goodies for breakfast. You can’t go wrong with this lovely, secluded modern cabin. It was a fall weekend we won’t soon forget. Thanks, John! We’ll be back!

    Sam2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • John's house is just magnificent and John himself is wonderful. We were looking to get out of the city for a bit, and this was the perfect stay. Not only is the house in a beautiful location (tons of trees with fall colors!), but it is incredibly designed, with small touches that make it really feel contemporary yet still warm and homey. Scones, apple cake, and cookies were SO delicious and much appreciated. We really loved our time staying with John and couldn't have asked for anything more.

    Rita2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • John’s beautiful modern home is in a gorgeous rural location with an easy drive into Saugatuck and Douglas. I looked forward to breakfast with Marvin each morning, he’s a great conversationalist, the coffee was delicious and the scones were the best I’ve ever eaten. John and Marvin were such attentive hosts and we appreciated their restaurant, winery, and trail recommendations immensely. It was nice meeting the other couple that was staying there as well. I would highly recommend this stay to everyone.

    Chelsea2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • One can expect a peaceful & wonderful getaway in a serene setting.

    Sandra2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great experience staying here. These hosts go over and above to make you feel welcome and comfortable. John and Marvin make this experience so enjoyable by taking time to chat, making homemade scones and coffee in the morning and even making home homemade cookies and having a fire made for us to enjoy after returning from our dinner out! I cannot say enough good about these hosts! We cant wait to return!

    Debra2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at John's place! The house was beautiful, very clean, and well-located. Marvin was around most of the time we were there. He was super friendly and sweet and made us coffee every morning. The bedrooms are just off the main living space, situated right next to the kitchen. I would warn any light sleepers to bring some good quality ear plugs as the noise really carries and we were woken up early in the mornings. Because of the proximity of the bedroom to the main living space and the noise levels, the space did not feel very private. But it was still a lovely space and I would recommend it to anyone, as long as they are not expecting a very private, quiet space.

    Melissa2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best Airbnb stay I've ever had. John's home is not only unique and beautiful, but extremely well designed too. Every space was absolutely spotless and thoughtful touches that make guests feel welcomed abound. John and Marvin are warm and generous. They live truly interesting lives and their baking skills are at a professional level. I'll definitely be back!

    Lap-Yin2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Airbnb has recently found it’s hands in large companies who buy out buildings to create as much income as possible. John has made sure that the true spirit of an “Airbnb” stays alive in his modern masterpiece among the beautiful trees and wildflowers of Michigan. He insures your entire stay is the most personal, intimate, and relaxing stay as humanly possible. My husband and I thought we would be going out for breakfast each morning, yet we found ourselves spending 2 hours each morning over French pressed coffee, homemade scones, and the most amazing frittata. My heart hurts to leave John, his dear friend Marvin, and his sweetest pup Buck.

Holland is a Pure Michigan delight... Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, you will love the activities, the community, and the lifestyle that makes Holland a favorite Michigan destination. From the award-winning downtown to the white sandy beaches, you'll fall in love with Holland's small-town charm and big-city amenities. Dine along the waterfront or at a local café. Hike to the top of a sand dune or climb to the top of a windmill! Shop for a paddleboard, or a pair of wooden shoes. Visit neighborhood art fairs, enjoy a theatre performance, stroll the downtown sidewalks, or tour a modern college campus. Sail the waters of Lake Michigan or hike the trails in one of our wooded parks. Watch a brilliant sunset over Lake Michigan. And last but not least, Holland is also home to the world-famous Tulip Time Festival in May each year. No matter what your interests, you won't be disappointed!
  • We had a great overnight stay during Holland's Tulip Time Festival. The house is beautiful - it is historic with beautiful wood carving touches, yet it is also very updated and spacious. We were a group of 5 people (we asked ahead of time if 5 would be permitted) and the home definitely was spacious enough for all of us with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, large kitchen, living room and dining room. It was a perfect location for the Tulip Time Run (one block away). It was also very close to downtown, however we did choose to drive down there (not sure how long a walk it would be). We really enjoyed our stay. One thing to note to the owner - please get a hairdryer for guests. It is such a simple and inexpensive item that would help guests a lot.

  • Really amazing place to stay at. The renovations are amazing and the place is much larger than expected. Huge fully stocked kitchen, large dining area, and stylish living room. Washer and dryer is the icing on the cake!!

  • This home is well appointed and cozy. Everything we needed for our stay was there for us. We cooked several family meals and enjoyed ourselves at AC’s home. Plenty of towels and extra linens, smart tv w Netflix. Great place to stay in Holland.

  • AC's place was adorable! I loved staying there.

  • Everything was great. Wonderful house in a great area. Felt like you where at home. Easy deadbolt combo lock to enter and exit. Close to downtown and the water. WiFi was great through out the house. We had 3 people streaming at once with no problem. The only bad thing I can’t pick out of all the wonderful one would have to be the plumbing. Had to flush a few times on both toilets. It was giving us trouble all week. I would definitely come again. Thank you! Great house

  • This place is really charming, located near downtown Holland and an easy walk to Lake Macatawa and Boatwerks Restaurant. The home has many of the original 1901 woodworking touches, but with a brand new kitchen and 2 bathrooms with beautiful details. The beds were very comfortable and had plenty of linens. Due to the chilly weather, we weren't able to enjoy the cute patio and nice backyard. Super-clean, you will enjoy your stay at Ac's place!

  • Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and a great location.

We believe in equality for everyone. Our home is a place where all should feel safe and be able to enjoy the beauty of Michigan.
This home is located in Douglas' Historic District and is located one block South of downtown Douglas' main intersection (Center Street & Main Street), one block West of the waterfront, and diagonal one block Northwest from Wade's Bayou and kayak launch. You can see the water at the end of the next block from the front yard! Of course downtown Saugatuck is just a short bike ride or nice walk away. In this historic downtown district you'll see some of Douglas' oldest homes (many of which have been beautifully restored), newest and most modern, as well as its diverse waterfront properties. Even most of the new structures in town have been built to fit in with this charming and quaint historic town. Here you'll find many things stuck back in time - education is highly rated, crime is very low, most of our businesses are sole propreitors, restaurants serve fresh clean food uniquely prepared, and both residents and visitors are extremely friendly and welcoming. While you might say this little town of around 1000 permanent residents is "stuck back in time" in many good ways, it is comprised of some of the most progressive residents in the state, who understand the importance of the arts, the earth, and organic/farm-to-table foods, to mention a few you'll likely visibly notice. While we are committed to providing you with great accommodations, we think you'll find everyone in Saugatuck/Douglas is hoping you'll make this a getaway you, your friends and your family will return for year after year.
  • A great location for weekend get away. Minutes from downtown and you can walk to the lake.

  • Great cozy room right in the next to the main strip of downtown Douglas or a quick 20 min walk to downtown saugutuck. The house itself was small but exactly what we needed for a quick stay. Comfortable and cute and a great deal.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful overnight stay at Eric's place. Perfect for exploring Douglas and Saugatuck.

  • Great place

    Barbara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Eric, we so enjoyed your place. I think your "makeup" towels are especially brilliant! Lots of other thoughtful touches throughout, like wall hooks. ( I'm amazed that most hosts forego convenient little wall hooks.) The neighborhood is quiet and a quick drive to Saugatuck. Eric is organized, professional and personable. He made it easy to book, easy to check in and was readily available for communication. And like others have said, there are not a bunch of rules to follow at his place...just some common courtesy requested. Overall, a great stay!

    Shelley2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay for a quiet getaway - super clean / spacious, huge comfy bed - couldn't have asked for anything more!

A 3rd floor apartment at the top of a Victorian home just off the corner of Centennial Park. A short walk to everything downtown. From our guests: "The location couldn't have been better, and the apartment was SO spacious, with everything we needed. " "This place is great - the attic is much larger than expected from the pictures, and comfortably fit 4 of us for a weekend. I loved the cute vintage artifacts throughout the attic" "Awesome place! Awesome location! Very roomie and quaint!"
WHAT OUR GUESTS LOVE: We have a great location next to Centennial Park, a short walk (330 yards) to shopping and eating downtown, and just off of the Hope College. The space is larger than people expect. The apartment is clean. We do a full wipe down, vacuum, and wet mop between each guest. OUR VIBE A former attic turned apartment, the place is on the third floor of a Victorian house. We are hoping to cultivate a place that is restful that inspires people to think, read, write, create, draw, and engage. We are slowly adding to the spaces collection of art, books, and objects to stimulate thoughtfulness and engagement. The place is called the Artists Attic because we are planning to offer a small artist residency through the space. Your stay helps support the dream (coming 2020), thank you! OUR HISTORY A Victorian house built in 1892 for the first president of Hope College (Gerrit Kollen) and his wife Mary Van Raalte. Mary's father Albertus Van Raalte is said to be the "founder" of Holland and is represented by a large statue in Centennial Park. Our house was soon after split into multiple apartments and has been kept as multiple apartments since that time. TRAVELING WITH KIDS We have a 4 and 1 year old ourselves and know it can be harder to travel with kids in tow. We keep a baby gate in the apartment for the top of the stairs if you have a toddler or crawler. We do not keep toys in the space but please message us in advance if you need toys (we have a humble collection), a pack and play, a changing table, stroller, or any other items you may have forgotten or didn’t want to pack along. It is worth a mention that running, jumping, and stomping (even for toddlers) reverberates throughout the house. You can be kind to the neighbors below you by limiting running, jumping, and stomping. Don’t worry about a little bit of running or jumping, it is only the nonstopped variety that can test the neighbors patience. If your children have unlimited and uncontainable energy that expresses itself as thunderous stomping for extended periods of time you might find our apartment frustrating. THE LAYOUT The main bedroom has an olympic queen bed and the second bedroom is a smaller room with a queen bed. There is an additional room for sitting in addition to a main open room, a galley kitchen, and a bathroom. FAIR WARNINGS (We don’t like surprises either!): The stairs getting to the 3rd floor are steep. Not a problem if you are healthy, but possibly frustrating if you are carrying heavy loads or have health issues. In the summer the air conditioners are installed in the windows of the bedroom. No TV (We have Roku on a 24” monitor that can be brought up by request)
We are on the outside edge of the Hope College neighborhood. It is quiet, like a normal neighborhood but still a short walk to any place on Hopes campus. We are also 3-4 blocks from downtown. The beach is 10-15 minutes by car.
  • Really cool place within walking distance to downtown. Very clean. Highly recommend!!

    Courtney2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • As a lot of other reviews said, the space is bigger than you might think from the listing. Rob was fantastic, and I loved that I never moved my car between check-in and check-out - there were plenty of places to eat and drink in easy walking distance. Place was quiet as well, great for a calm "recharge".

    Connor2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing service and location!

    Gabrielle2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Rob is an excellent host whose communication is clear and complete. His place is unique and interesting, a fun change from hotel stays.

    Joan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rob was amazing. The hospitality was great and you can't beat the location. Will be back here in the future!

  • If you are visiting Holland for any reason, and you want somewhere unique to stay. This is perfect! Three of us stayed there and we could have still been comfortable with even more people. Check in was super easy, and the host was very communicative. It was also nice to have a place to park. The place itself is very well decorated and has a wonderful historic charm. Really nothing bad to say!

    Maxwell2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space that's close to downtown! Literally walking distance to the best breweries! Super clean space, easy check-in, host is super responsive and the space is really cool with tons of entertainment!
