  • Everything was very good, very friendly and warm welcome. Lots of space and very clean. Any time......

    Klaus2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We wish we could give our stay at the Gowanbridge B&B more than 5 stars, because it was such an amazing experience for us, and Sandra and Peter truly went above and beyond as the perfect hosts. We're so glad they allowed us to stay on the farm with our 4-year old son, because he will be talking about his wonderful adventures with the horses, donkeys and tractors for years to come! The setting is unbelievably gorgeous and peaceful, the hosts are absolute gems, the apartment is spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean, and the breakfast is delicious. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

    Denis2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Peter are such a lovely warm welcoming couple and you will not find a space bigger than this. There are lots of little additional touches which make you feel at home. Everything is spotlessly clean and well provisioned including a nice selection for breakfast. Don’t look further if you need accommodation in this area.

    Carl2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous!!!! The space is very big with plenty of beds for everyone. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could need. The hosts provided a huge, delicious breakfast complete with apples from their garden. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We both really enjoyed getting to chat with the hosts and we would highly highly recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area.

My cottage is close to Nelson Lakes National Park and Rainbow Ski field. You’ll love my place because it's set amongst farmland and has a wonderful view over the river. The bed is a European King size bed with 2 single mattresses and is very comfy. Your room has it's own TV and is next to the bathroom. If you are looking for an experience, then a bath under our beautiful starry sky will be one you won't forget.
My home is a modest New Zealand style cottage furnished with European furniture and decors. It is located in a valley away from traffic noise and has a million dollar view! On site is an outdoor bath ( surcharge for use) and plenty of space to chill out in. This is a place people come to to enjoy nature, tranquility and the sound of birds to wake to. Nearby is the Nelson Lakes National Park. Fishing, hiking, walks, 4WD, mountain biking, hang gliding and skiing in winter are a few of the activities on my doorstep. Within 1.5hrs drive are Nelson, Blenheim, Westport, Abel Tasman National Park, Wineries and Arts and Craft galleries. I love to be outside, read, paint, work in the garden and cook using home grown products. I am a Kiwi but have lived in Europe for over 20 years. I speak Dutch, German, Italian, French. I have come back to NZ to enjoy the outdoors and bring with me a touch of the European flair in hospitalilty and food.
There are no neighbours to be seen, just cows, sheep and nature. Down the road is a waterhole in the river. There is plenty of parking on site and the area is very safe.
  • Jennifer is a warm host. The house is very nice and quiet. The dinner tasted excellent. The room is cozy. Nelson Lakes is a nice area for hiking. I really enjoyed the days.

    Barbara2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely everything about my stay with Jennifer was lovely. A comfy bed, a welcoming home, a delicious dinner, great conversations, beautiful patio views - I could go on and on. Take up the offer to take a bath outside, it was a highlight of my stay.

  • Quite and peaceful location. Jennifer had some great advice on trips and a friendly host. Food was great. Definitely recommend if you are visiting Nelson Lakes.

    Justin2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's place offers the opportunity to lay back and refuel the batteries, having walks in the Howard Valley and interesting exchanges with Jennifer and her neighbors bringing NZ close to you. We enjoyed our three days at her place very much.

    Wolfram2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jennifer's was wonderful. Spoilt by homemade breakfast breads and jams. Jennifer is a breeze to chat to and provides a wealth of local and regional knowledge. The bed comfortable, the cats not too perturbed plus a beautiful stroll behind the property to take in the surrounds from a lofty hill-top. Highly recommend!

    Campbell2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's place is immaculately clean and very well presented. Her cats were a special delight. This was my first experience sharing a living space with a host and I loved it. Jennifer's well travelled, very knowledgeable about the area and is a great cook. Highly recommended for travellers who's after peace and quiet, and genuine hospitality.

Our log cabin is located on a 50acre lifestyle farm in a hidden valley an hour south of Nelson and 40 minutes north of Murchison. It is peaceful and private with stunning mountain views and space to relax. With no traffic noise, the only sounds you will hear are the native birdsong and the Little Hope River running gently beside the property.
We are fully off the grid and operate our own hydro-electricity unit and solar water heating. There are no power lines, no internet reception and no cellphone coverage. Come to us for a break from technology, reconnect with the natural surroundings and recharge your soul. Past guests often tell us it is so relaxing here they wish they’d stayed longer, so if you have the time consider staying an extra night or two. The river running through the property offers many scenic river walks to swimming holes, picnic spots and even an old railway bridge. We run a lifestyle farm on our side of the property, and you are most welcome to come and meet the animals and learn a little of what we do. Triple Tui is located in one of New Zealand’s best trout fishing areas. Your host Steve is an experienced fly-fishing and hunting guide, and would be more than happy to arrange a fly-fishing or hunting expedition for your stay. Our log cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway where you can simply relax and unwind.
We are up a quiet rural valley, so you will mostly hear birds and the river. Not many cars venture passed us in a day. You will have total peace and tranquility.
  • Their place was amazing! We absolutely loved the nature - the views from the cabin, the sound of the river, our hike up the river to the old train bridge, the animals, and our nice indoor fire. It was so peaceful being off the grid and we wished we could have stayed longer. It was very private. Tracey was very friendly and kind and we enjoyed our chats with her. We loved the adventurous car trek through the paddocks to the cabin as well :) This was a very memorable experience and we would definitely return.

    Rebekah2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and quiet place near river scenery, kind and helpful host.

    Klara2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing stay here, very cozy with beautiful surroundings.

    Joanna2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Tracey's place! Gorgeous cabin that is very cozy and relaxing. Off the grid with full privacy. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and have time away from Wifi and phone reception. We enjoyed wandering the property and sitting on the porch in the sun. Thanks again for an awesome stay!

    Sarah2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place! Being cut-off from WiFi and mobile network, we enjoyed our time a lot. The lodge is completely built of wood. A beautiful place with a warm atmosphere in the forest. River close by and lots of nature will recharge your soul.

  • Great spot, very handy to the event we attended, and Donna was super welcoming, sharing fruit from her trees and making us feel very welcome

    Judi2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay (metres from the TA route, for those interested), a hose and brush to wash the bike, very clean accommodation in a perfectly sized, separate building with all that you need. Donna was really considerate and accommodating with checking in as I arrived quite late and very tired. I had a great stay and can thoroughly recommend the Studio.

  • Authentic pleasure to have stayed at Donna’s place. She was so nice to us and gave us good information about the surroundings ! Great location to avoid 5h drive between Abel Tasman and Westport. We really appreciated the fruits from the garden and fresh milk ! We felt like home and watched local tv shows like true kiwis ^^ Totally recommended !

  • I had an excellent stay at Donna's studio. The studio is super clean, comfortable and comes equiped with everything you need for a short stay. Fresh fruit was also provided which is a nice touch. There is a parking lot right next to the studio which made loading and unloading bags easier. Although there is no wifi, I can confirm that there is good 3G reception in the studio. Donna is a very friendly and attentive host. Communication was easy and prompt. Would have loved to stay longer, will definitely try to book Donna's studio if I am back in the area again!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying here - probably the best stay of our NZ trip so far.

    Martin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pip's apartment is the self contained lower level of the family home. It is extremely spacious, modern, sparkling clean, and set in attractively landscaped grounds. We appreciated the photos and art works on the walls. For us it was a perfect place to spend our last night in the South Island before driving to Picton the next morning and heading back to the North Island.

We have a sculpture garden and gallery on site showcasing the work of David Carson. We are a great central location for Nelson, Motueka, Kaiteriteri and Nelson lakes. We are conveniently located just 2.5km from the Great Taste cycle trail with work starting on the link up with Tapawera this year. Fully self contained cottage. Ideal for a couple or up to a family of 4.
Sculpture garden and gallery on site. Free entry for airbnb guests during opening hours. Fish or swim in the Motueka river.
  • Rachel’s cottage was a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing place to stay. It has a large number of amenities so that we were able to make ourselves dinner and stay in rather than have to drive into town. The cottage is cozy and hidden in the trees so that there’s plenty of privacy. If we come to the area again, we’ll definitely return!

    Casey2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute gem along the Motueka River. The cabin is so beautiful - you could stay forever. Rachel and her husband were great, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Rachel's place. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Kennen2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful and lovely location nestled in the trees. Not completely quiet, with the buzz of cicadas though (and a hint of sound from the occasional passing car on the road above), but very restful and relaxing. And yet, within easy reach of a lot of wonderful places. Fully featured cooking equipment, great SMEG oven, large fridge, and a table for four indoors. Comfortable beds, lots of seating indoors and out. You won't be disappointed by the space, even if an occasional rainy day means spending it indoors. Rachel was really nice, keen to help out and get us settled in. She knew a lot about the area too. Mobile phone reception is quite limited, but we managed to connect eventually (even if it mean putting the mobile phone right by the window). No WiFi in the property (a plus for us), but you can get connected during 'office hours' nearby. As far as we could see there was no TV reception either but there were a few books and a DVD player (which we didn't use). This was everything it was advertised to be, and we had a really great stay there.

    Kwai Yoke2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Not enough stars available for Rachael. The place is amazing with character and the sculpture garden they have created well worth a visit.

    Mark2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and relaxing private hidden gem. Cottage is cosy and has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful getaway from busy life. Kitchen is great, when a full sized fridge, gas stove and full size oven. Baby bunnies playing outside the bedroom window made mornings and evenings a delight. Love the private deck with bbq and table and space in the back yard with fruit trees and bird life. Petanque (boules) game on the lawn was fun 🙂 Rachel is friendly and helpful and fast to reply to all communications. Highly recommend the Hidden Cottage.
