really nice and clean house with stunning surroundings. We used it as a base for ski touring and it was nice for that.

Gudrun's place is as spectacular as the pictures lead you to believe - even when covered in snow! We knew it would be a bit of a risk being the end of February, but made the most of being snowed in to this mountainside retreat. The heated floors and hot tub are all you need to stay cozy, and when the clouds clear, the view simply can't be beat. The home has everything you need for home-cooked meals and a great night's sleep. Not to mention, the wonderful neighbor who plowed us out each day, saving the second half of the vacation!! Would love to return when we can see the grass ;)

The house is even better then expected. The hottop, fireplace and huge glass facade is perfect to watch the beautiful nature and northern lights. There is really nothing missing or if so they will organize it. For us it was the best place to go horse riding, snow mobile raceing and visit godafoss and all the places arround. It is a beautiful place! If we ever come back to iceland we will definitly stay in this house again.

Gudrun’s place was beautiful! Amazing and breathtaking views. She has a caretaker, which his help was honestly was one of the best parts of our stay. He made sure we had everything, took care of the snow for us every single day, made sure we were safe and his humility was like none ever seen before. The house has every amenity you’ll need to stay in and enjoy the views and quiet. It has been one of our best stays so far. Will definitely love to visit again.

This cabin is every bit as stunning as the pictures and more. We stayed during early January. The cabin was warm and cozy while offering an amazing view of the mountains and Northern Lights. The heated floors were wonderful. I stayed with my family of four, there was plenty of room for us to enjoy each other’s company while still having private space during our extended holiday. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. The hot tub was a welcomed retreat after a long day of snowmobiling. There was plenty of closet/storage room to help us keep organized during our stay.

Absolutely amazing! We stayed for ten days over Christmas and wish we could have stayed longer. The house was sparkling clean with all the amenities we could have wanted and beautiful views which stretched across the valley. The underfloor heating was an especially nice touch. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub after days of playing in the snow. Northern lights were visible on a few of the nights which was an added bonus. Gudrun is amazing and provided a lot of detailed communication with caring touches. The house’s caretaker, Sigurdur, was wonderful as well and even in the midst of his wife expecting a child he found time to help us with the few odd questions we had. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay in Skriða. The house is situated just next to the mountains. It was a real pleasure to wake up with such a view and spend our evenings in the hot tube. Everything was very clean and Gudrun always answered our questions and sent us a lot of information about places to visit, about the weather. Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience!

A beautiful home with amazing views. We got hit with a blizzard while we were there and didn't mind being stuck inside a little bit more than usual when we could sit back and enjoy the views and the hot tub. I recommend you drive up past dalvik through the first long one lane tunnel - the views when you come out of the tunnel of mountain touching water is beautiful! Especially in the snow.

The cabin is very cute, very well maintained and with Rachel's directions impossible to miss! We stayed here for one night over two weeks of road trip and it was over the top!

The Rachel’s cabin is a perfect tiny house in the wood with all accommodation is very quiet and cosy. It was very clean and comfortable. Rachel and her husband are very welcoming.

This is a beautiful little lodge in a wonderfully peaceful area,close enough to Akureyri to be able to get in and out easily. Really enjoyed staying here.

An intimate hut, inside there is everything you need, clean and welcoming, no noise, just silence and nature. Me and my partner fell in love with that place, and then it's where we saw our first aurora borealis, among those mountain huts in the middle of a snowy forest. Extremely recommended

Exceptional accommodation in an exceptional setting! The host is very friendly and responsive! Everything was impeccable, cleanliness, information, equipment ... etc Do not hesitate to book this accommodation out of the ordinary, you will not be disappointed! Only negative, we might have had to take two nights instead of one ... next time!

The igloo is just adorable and my stay here was very memorable! The inside of the igloo is very cozy decorated and has a homely atmosphere. Just pack a pair of warm socks because it’s not that warm in the night.

Definitely worth a trip to the north! Very well thought out, with all sorts of useful things for your stay. Going to the toilet is a bit adventurous (especially when it is snowing and in the dark), but a headlamp was also used in the accommodation. Recommended!

Igloo was amazing. Great place to stay and good location. I highly recommended this place to everyone who want try sleep under the stars but in warm bed.

Even though it was raining/sleeting during our 1-night stay in the igluhus it was a fantastic experience. However, don’t go out of your way to stay here if your only motive is to see the northern lights— which is what we did— you never know if the weather will treat you kindly— which it didn’t. :( Overall, it was a cozy glamping experience and the bed was super comfortable. Lola even has slippers next to the bed! Such a nice touch. (Note! For those who don’t like camping/glamping keep in mind the toilet is not attached to the igloo. It’s a small hut just outside the igloo’s door— no electricity or running water. That aspect made our stay just a touch unpleasant since it was raining/sleeting during our 1-night stay, but we’re big campers so it didn’t bother us too much.) :)

Lorenzo is an awesome host! And the little cottage is awesome as well! We spend three nights there and were sad that we had to leave due to a snowstorm. But even under this circumstances Lorenzo did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. We got very good recommendations and enjoyed our private sauna! Definitely worth a stay! If we come back to northern Iceland we'll come back to Lorenzo!

The Litli cabin was small and cute. We stayed here for its easy access to the Beer Spa, which is less than a ten minute drive. Lorenzo was there to welcome us. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this cute little cabin!

It is a little house with beautiful views, everything was very clean and the owner very friendly. The shower was not inside the house but it was right next door, next to a sauna that could also be used.

Can’t say enough good things about this cottage! Whether you’re traveling with just one other person or a small group, this place is amazing! The sauna and hot tub are very accessible and easy to work, and the view from the front is amazing. Lorenzo is a great host who replies quickly, so if you have questions, he’ll help you out quickly!

Cosy Cottage with breathtaking fews. We really enjoyed our stay in Dalvik. We really felt at home in the cottage and loved everything, especially the sauna and hot tub. The communication with Lorenzo was easy and he even went out of his way to send me my kindle, which I had forgotten in the cottage. Thanks so much for that.! We definetly recommend a stay in the cottage!

It was good to be able to use jacuzzi. The radiator was so full that I could stay the warmest in Iceland and the kitchen utensils were clean and versatile. The bathroom is a bit old but tidy. The scenery is good and you can relax right away, just 10 minutes after the Dalvik Whale Tour. Host Lorenzo was friendly and gave a quick message.

We stayed here in Dalvik for one night as our family was driving the Ring Road around Iceland. We were going Whale Watching with Arctic Sea Tours and this house was close to our departure destination. It was a cute home with a beautiful large window and incredible view. It was a bit tight for our family of 7 adults, but we managed. There was a microwave but no oven, which was fine for us since we weren’t planning to do major cooking. We used both the sauna and the hot tub. Overall, very cute place! Great communication from Lorenzo. Would definitely recommend.

The house was what we expected and what we wanted for a quiet month. The village is friendly: market, restaurant, and swimming pool staff was always welcoming. The daily "backyard" walks into nature among the nesting birds, shoreline cliffs, and meadows was always a treat.

Amazing island of Hrisey is truly a gem in Iceland. Awesome views and a rich bird life. The cottage had everything you could wish for and Valdimar has been quick to respond and been friendly and helpful all the time. We are incredibly pleased and completely in love with this place. Will return as soon as we get an opportunity.

What a great place to stay! Very spacious, comfortable house. The kitchen is fully equipped (oven did not get as hot as it should have though) and easy to use. Very close to the ferry, trails, store, and amazing geothermal pool. There are puzzles and games, too! Thanks!

What a wonderful and spacious house! So comfortable (great beds and bedding!)and very well appointed! The kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom is the biggest one I have seen in Iceland and has a tub- which is rare! Valdimar is a great host with lots of good suggestions of what to do in the area and he clearly has taken great care in the furnishing and upkeep of this house on this charming island! The view out the back of the house is great and you are also very close to the sea. My kids loved the playground with a zip line and bouncy air pillow- we let them walk down there by themselves since there are so few cars on the island! We enjoyed whale watching out of Hauganes, (very close by) and even brought back some fresh caught cod that I was able to cook up for dinner that night, after a visit to the island pool, which was delightful and very modern! Valdimar’s place is ideal for a family or good sized group and would also be great for a longer stay. If you are looking to stay somewhere very special take the ferry to Hrísey and stay at Valdimar’s for a few days! It is a great break!

Valdimar's house is perfect for a group of 5. He has a nice house on an adorable island. You can always take ferry rides back to mainland, but our group found that two of our best days came from sleeping in and exploring the island. It has some beautiful (and challenging) hikes on the far side that you can tell not many people have been on before. The house has comfortable beds and a welcoming atmosphere. The record player is a great touch

A real gem! Welcoming and cosy place right next to the sea, about five minutes walking distance to the village Hauganes. Petur and Swany are great hosts and they will help you in any way they can. Watching the beautiful aurora from the outdoor hot pool tops is off perfectly.

This is by far the most beautiful accommodation we stayed in here in Iceland. You have to come here if you are in the area. The hosts are so nice and the place is just awesome and peaceful. It is perfect to relax your mind and soul.

This is a forest lodge by the lake. The environment is elegant and quiet. You can experience the Nordic groves along the path along the house, stepping on the soft grass, facing the innocent lake and the rolling hills. That washes the peace of mind. The landlord’s family is warm and welcoming, giving people the feeling of going home.

The best airbnb I stayed ever. Full equipment kitchen, super clean, wonderful view, we saw the whale(even just far away), aurora...Will definetely go back next time to Iceland for a couple weeks! (if there is wine opener and wine glasses would be perfect)

Very nice house with wonderful view around 20 minutes drive from Akureyri. Calm, clean and well equipped with a nice kitchen. Everything you need is there and the house is quite spacious (at least for a couple). You can see whales from the living room and we had the chance to see Northern Lights from the terrace. Perfect place to stay.

We had an amazing time staying here in September 2019. The place was sparkling clean and the views from the home our absolutely stunning! Valgerdur was very quick to respond to any questions that we had and was a perfect host. We only have positive things to say about staying here - it definitely exceeded our expectations!

Of I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Great location, just a 10 minute drive into town. Wonderful views of the snow capped mountains and whales. The hot pot was just icing on the cake. Highly recommend!!!

We had a very nice stay in the beautiful cottage, very well equipped making everything much easier. The location was perfect for us, with amazing views and near Akureyri and Dalvík and some other locations we expected to visit. We had a really good time, and saw northern lights almost every night. We had a very good communication with the host.

We have spent 4 lovely days in this wonderful and beatiful house with big windows and all comfort available. We did not use the hot tub because of the strong and cold wind. The bedrooms had enough space and the beds were top. A huge bathroom with a warm (rain) shower could be used. A cosy livingroom and open kitchen gave it a modern touch. We enjoyed the amazing view at the Fjord and could spot some whales. And top of the bill, we saw one time the Northernlights for 2 hours at night, just above the house in front of us. It made it all a lifetime experience for the kids and ourselves. Our host Valgerdur was anytime available via Messenger AirBnb.

This is a lovely house in a rustic and charming hamlet. It's great for relaxing and wandering. We loved it!

Very personalized welcome. Lola and Laurent take the time to see you welcome and to speak to you. They recommended a natural hot spring and a waterfall that were not indicated on our guide and we enjoyed discovering them. They helped us get our car out of the ditch we were in due to a snowstorm. Very helpful, accommodating and pleasant. We enjoyed our overnight stay with them and will return if the opportunity arises!

Lola and Laurent are lovely couple. They made a cozy space and tidy kitchen and shared space. We stayed at the bear room. The place is in the quiet area and we really enjoyed walking at all area in the town. There was an interesting beer Bath spa. We loved to watch the northern lights on the dark street away from the home area.

The cottage is cute and offers a place of solitude for a couple or a family. It offers a kitchenette and refrigerator for a couple days worth of food so you can cook and eat their. The location has beautiful vistas of the mountains and even a view of a glacier. If it is a clear night you may be able to see the northern lights in a spectacular fashion!

This is the most beautiful place we stayed in Iceland! The pictures are 100% accurate but you have to see it to believe it. The host Jan was super communicative and gave us great tips for the area. The inside of the cottage was just as pretty as the outside and the outdoor shower was incredible. A hot shower standing in the mountains! Nothing better! Absolutely recommend this place!!!

This location is off the beaten path and a little harder to get to, but we had no trouble. It is secluded and offers and excellent view. Well stocked amenities. It is a cute little cabin with plenty of room and good wifi. Outdoor shower seemed questionable but we ended up loving it! One of our favorite stays in Iceland.

Loved this cabin outside of Dalvik! The outdoor shower was a fun experience, and we enjoyed grilling and cooking dinner after our long days of driving around, whale watching and other sightseeing, and museums. The views were incredible! Our only wish is if the bed was a bit longer as my husband is 6’3” (190 cm) - was too short for him.

It was our second stay in the house and it was outstanding again. Our last visit was almost one and a half year ago and we expected everything to look more used and the like but everything was in absolut top condition. Even all the things in the kitchen. The house is a true beauty and it's so comfortable. We would book again anytime!

It is really modern and very clean apartment up to 8 people! Very central located - in front of harbor, between spirits store, if you'd choose to have some glass, and grocery store to fill up the fridge and make a meal on your own. It is cozy, comfortable and has lots of necessary amenities. Would honestly suggest to everyone who is about to visit Dalvik and Iceland North regions! Worth yo stay!

This was my first time using an airbnb out of the country and it has been my favorite experience thus far. It is very clean and perfect! There are two rooms and a loft that can be used to sleep in as well as a living room with a very comfortable couch. It was about a 5 hour drive from KEF airport and has many things close to it on the north side to see and do. Would recommend 100%

The house is really welcoming, clean and tastefully decorated. The environment is very calm and the view magnificent. The house remains accessible in the middle of winter, but suitable vehicles are required. We had a great stay! However for the next visitors be aware that the stairs are very narrow and the shower is about 1m75 high so you have to be less than 1m60 to be able to shower standing! It is an original experience!

Amazing place. Very relaxing enviroment, amazing views on mountains and the ocean. The house is fantastic, very cozy. You will feel home in a matter of minutes. Great kitchen with everything you need. Washer and dryer came in handy too. Great location and unforgettable scenery. Would pick it again with out hesitation.

Our 4 nights at Vellir were very enjoyable. House was clean & well supplied. Stairs are unique & fun for a change. Hint: Go down basement stairs backwards. Easy as pie. Shower is huge. A little shy in headroom, but not a problem. Town is small & friendly. Pleasure to enjoy quiet locale. Beautiful location. Local store in town serves most needs. Nice owners. Good hike up smaller mountain to south beside town. Try horseback riding down the road. Very close & well worth it. Gisli went out of his way to get forgotten medication to us after we left. Great guy & great place to stay. Definite recommendation if you’re in the north.

Inspite of difficult times and difficult weather conditions (a lot of snow) we had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed the hot tub. Linda was very caring and had great tips.

Exactly as expected! If you like adventure and don’t mind a little snow up to your knees, this is place in the winter time! Spectacular view (when it’s not snowing lol) Linda was excellent and messaging each day, so the road could be plowed for our safe departure into the city.

Linda's place was amazing! The cabin is small but perfect for two. We were snowed in one night with a big storm. We spent the day in the hot tub enjoying the views. I would certainly be back, it was a really magical experience. Beds were very comfortable, very clean, nice smart tv and wifi, perfect hot tub.. great ammenities.  Here are a couple of recomendations: 1. If you need food, the closest stores are in Akuyeri and Dalvik. Cheaper in Akuyeri netto. 2. Its a little tricky to find. If you are coming from Akuyeri, it will be on your left. If you pass the beer spa you have gone too far.. about 3km. Turn around, drive back about 2-3 kms.. look for a arrow sign post on the right side that says Gaita. Turn there.. That's about it. Most awesome airbnb I've stayed at in a while!! Linda also gave us some coffee and fresh rolls when we could not get out. Really great!

We really enjoyed our stay at Linda’s cosy, secluded little cabin. It was conveniently located and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and we really enjoyed the mountain view and the snow whilst in it.

We have stayed all over the world in many different types of accommodation and we have to say this is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Great communication with the directions to get there. The cottage itself is heaven! Best location, cleanliness throughout, mod cons (oven, hob, apple TV), the hot tub was amazing too! The most comfortable bed and nicest bedding I've slept in! Loved the offer of local handmade woolen gloves and hats to purchase from the local farm. I just cannot recommend staying here enough. We were stranded in this part of Iceland for a day due to the weather and Linda came to our rescue and set our minds at rest by allowing us to stay for longer, such great hospitality was very much appreciated in what could have been a very stressful situation. I cannot think of a place I'd rather be snowed in!!! Beautiful views during the day from all angles and fantastic light show 2 out of 3 nights! I cannot recommend staying here enough! Wish we could have stayed longer and I'm hopeful we will be back one day.

Great landscape (whales can be seen in the fjord on land, do not forget binoculars) and quiet (in the lap of the mountains). Lovely decorated. Shower unfortunately not really available (open bathtub).

Everything was perfect in this beautiful, clean airbnb. We had a great time.

From one window you can see white sheep giving birth to lambs, from the other window you see snowy mountains (May) looking like pyramids, so you can feel as if you were in the Valley of the Kings. There is even a poster of Käthe Kollwitz, despite only in the bathroom, one can also enjoy thousands of Icelandic books. Picturesque and remarkable place to stay we can only recommend.

This is quite possibly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The design of the house is amazing. The attention to detail is very pleasing. The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. Be mindful there is not standing shower which can be a little tough for fairly tall people like me and my friends. Öps was very lovely and helpful. The communication was excellent. I really loved the place. Recommend it 100%. P.S. take a look at the backyard when you are there.

Only good things to to say about Bjarni and his red cabins! He greeted us as soon as we pulled into the driveway... he spent a nice amount of time making us feel welcome and showing us around his property. The hot tub and sauna were ready to go for us as well which was a lovely addition. We also really appreciated the tips he gave us for Dalvik -- the swimming pool! The entire space was also very clean and homey. It was such a great night... we only wish we could have stayed a few more nights. HIGHLY recommend staying here if you can.

Great place to stay in Dalvik. Close to everything you need and to See. The cabins are great, clean, super comfortable, supplied with everything you need. I loved staying there. Besides you can also use the Hot tub (Just great) and the sauna (greater in combination). The shower i did Not miss at All. Bjarni and Heida are warm and very welcoming people. If you have the Chance go to Heida' s Cafe and eat the fishsoup or a piece of cake there, it is great food. If i come again to iceland and to the north i will rent a cottage again :-).

Very warm and nice host. Would go back to him anytime. Everything was very clean and tidy, also that you do not have your own shower does not do anything, you can take a shower in the nearby pool but has a hot tub and a small sauna.

Sadly we only stayed for one night but the cottage was really clean plus had a 10/10 hot tube outside, perfect for watching the northern lights. We absolutely loved the cabin. It was easy to find and check in was simple. Had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Quiet and peaceful. We couldn’t be happier.

We reached Dalvik around 9:30 pm after a beautiful 5-hour drive from Reykjavik and went straight to the Gisli, Eirikur, Helgi cafe which also Bjarni owns. Their fish soup is the best but our tiredness from the long drive and misty weather outside made it a heavenly experience. Bjarni met us there a few minutes later and took us to the cottage after we finished our dinner. He has a geothermal hot tub right behind the cottage and we soaked in it for an hour at midnight under the moonlight. Next morning we woke up to the beautiful mountains around Dalvik. We walked to the football field right across from the cottage and watched some school kids practice soccer under the Icelandic mid-day sun. The entire stay was a magical experience and one of the highlights of our entire Iceland trip. I would love to visit Dalvik again and stay in Bjarni's cabin for a couple more days next time and definitely have some more of that fish soup the next time.

My husband and two other couples had an amazing and comfortable stay at Dora's place. The shower was the best we've ever been in! It was like standing under a waterfall. The location was great for horseback riding, whale watching and walking to the local cafe and stores. We all highly recommend this place if you're staying in Dalvik!

I would highly recommend this home to ANYONE. It was very charming, clean, cozy and we loved the location. If you’re looking for a true small town Iceland experience, book this place. The soup restaurant a couple doors down was amazing.

Amazing three-level house on the quiet outskirts of Dalvik. Very well-appointed kitchen, so we could do plenty of cooking for ourselves. We heartily enjoyed our stay! (Also some board games and things for children, so a great place for groups with children.)

Our visit was fantastic! This cute and surprisingly roomy house is located just 25 minutes from Akureyri, which was perfect for us. The house was warm, spotless and welcoming upon arrival. The host left notes and welcome chocolates (yum). The bathroom is AMAZING (talk about an enjoyable shower experience & tub soak). The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. We were within walking distance to the gas station, coffee/cafe shop, whale watching tour & pub. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

It's a very beautiful place with a stunnig view. The check in by ourself was very easy, very good comunication with the host, very easy to spot the place on google map and a very cosy livingroom. We had nothing to complain about because everything was as we expected to be.

Spent two nights at this cottage and loved the views, the cosy comforts and location as we did a great whale watching tour just minutes away in Dalvik. Place is older than other cottages we have stayed during our stay in Iceland and slower wi-fi at times but overall a nice stay in a beautiful setting!

Quite a beatiful place

Bjani is an amazing host. Very friendly. We enjoyed staying in the old farmhouse which was wonderfully quirky. We enjoyed hearing the history behind it. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. Also had good coffee, hot chocolate and cake at the coffee shop and a good meal at Gregor’s restaurant. We went all the way to Akeyuri for Whale watching which was unnecessary as Dalvík also does this. Highly recommended.

This is my second stay at Bjarni’s cottages. It’s a great hopping off point for North Iceland adventures. Cozy and clean with or without kids. Bjarni always has the hot tub and sauna ready. The cottages are walking distance to trails, the local playground, restaurants, coffee shop and grocery. Also walking distance to his great cafe and the whale watching meeting point. On top of that Bjarni is always very helpful and responsive. I will stay here again.

The Bjarni accommodation is simply unique. An old house with all its charm but also with all the facilities (besides jacuzzi). In the center of Dalvík, very quiet, with gas station just in front and 5 minutes from the trips to Grímsey and whale sightings. Just perfect!

This is one of the cutest little cabins we stayed in, with much love to detail and full of history! Cozy at its best! Will definitely recommend it to my friends! The cafe down the road owned by the hosts is also incredibly cute and quirky and has the most delicious fish soup! Highly recommended!

Cutest cottage ever. Our family of 4 found it cozy...my teen boys enjoyed the loft. You must stop in to Bjarni's cafe...fish soup is to die for along with bread and salad, it warmed the soul after a long day of travel. Bjarni's old farmhouse is a lovely little place with a lot of charm. It was clean, the bed very comfortable and the hot tub was ready for us. Bjarni and Heida are very sympathic, kind and helpful. Bjarni was always friendly and supportive, even when he was stressed by taking care of many other guests. We also enjoyed our time in their cafe "Gisli, Erikur, Helgi". It is a unique place and you won't see many places like this. Also the staff is very friendly. I can recommend this place to anyone, who wants to leave the path of a hotel standard room and enjoys different perspectives of creative people.

Would recommend this place anytime. The cottage was very cozy and clean, perfect to stay a couple of days to recharge your batteries. Bjarni and Heiða were so kind and helpful. And we absolutely loved dinner at their kaffihús. We would love to come back!

We had a great time at Holmfridur. The apartment is conformtable and warm and the whole area is beautiful. Great apartment for 2-3 people in the heart of Dalvík. Holmfridur is a great host and was very responsive.

We enjoyed for one night this Beautiful and large studio located a very short walking distance from the fiord and ferry station . We met the host and her husband and they were such wonderful hosts and despite the fact that we arrived around midnight they welcomed us warmly and even invited us in for a drink. This stay was my favorite in Iceland! It was really new and clean with a lovely view of the sunrise. The kitchen was fully stocked and even had a dishwasher! I would highly recommend this stay for travelers.

Excellent place, the room is very comfortable, we were able to wash and dry our dirty clothes right there. At night we went out and we could see the auroras !!! Do not think about it and stay here.

The farm is close from the city, perfect place to see the northern lights, the room is small but you can make your dinner, you have all what you need!

It's a cozy room in the middle of nowhere. If you don't mind a little farmy feeling and want to see the Aurora then this here is your spot.

Place is really nice. Beautiful view on the horses from the room. We were 3 days in the farm and we found all facilities not too far in Akureyri. The room is well equipped. Good Price quality ratio. And Auðbjörn is just next door if you need something.

Good place. The kitchen was different from what I thought, but it's great for a day. Especially a lot of aurora was seen here, and it was a great place to see aurora!

This place is amazing. We booked last minute Bute erupting was ready when we arrived. The room was clean and cozy, and the common area is fantastic. It’s got everything you could need, tea, coffee, etc. and there’s a kitchen next door, and a thermal pool. The ride out is on a nice road for the most part. The owner is a painter and her artwork is very striking. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Cute little bed and breakfast. I really love the view of the place and its seclusion was beautiful. Everyone was very kind and generous. There's also beautiful art in random spots of the house. Only complaint was that the hot tub was closed during my stay but that was due to cold weather and high winds. Which is very understandable. They also offer drinks, beer and wine too but it was room temperature. I would highly recommend this place for sure as those two issues were extremely minor.

Unique experience of sleeping in a van with views of the mountains and the water !! Eygló, as a guest worthy of the name, offered us a real room in the building because we could be cold! It was very nice of him, but we still appreciated the van (extra heating and big duvet present, there were only our pajamas)! Breakfast very good too!

We stayed in the closest van to the B&B and it was amazing! Right outside your side door is a wonderful view and hot tub! Inside was cozy and warm with plenty of space for 2 people. The gift shop in the B&B is stocked with wonderful handmade goods from local artists at much better prices then you will find in shops. We didn't get to go on the elf tour, but wish we had more time to check it out.

Booked last minute due to bad weather reports. Very happy with everything! Had a great view and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Would love to come again.

This is a lovely home with everything you need to launch an authentic Icelandic experience from. Beautiful ocean views with dolphins, and when strong storms come, it is quite impressive! Ólafur was very helpful everytime we needed assistance.

It was our second stay in Ólafurs beautiful and cozy house. In June 2013 was our first visit and this time we came back to enjoy the colder season. The view out of the window is really stunning and to our delight we had the pleasure to observe the northern lights three evenings of this week right in front of the house. The house itself is clean and wonderful. We appreciate its spot at the northern coast and the tasteful and authentic interior. We felt very comfortable and made some nice trips in the north. It’s really a highlight to spend time in this part of the world and in Ólafurs house. Thanks again!

Very nice house, directly by the sea. The decor has been lovingly decorated with many details from the area. Pretty pieces of furniture were made from old parts: vanity in the bathroom, saloon table, storage in laundry room, ... Unfortunately, we locked ourselves out on arrival! Key and cell phone were inside, we went outside and nothing more. Luckily, 7ns has been able to help the neighbor with spare keys! Thank you so much!

Ólafur’s place was amazing! The space was great and the location was unbeatable. We’ve been on a couple trips to Iceland now and this place was our favorite by far! It was clean and felt very authentic. And being in the small village of Hauganes made it feel all the more “local”. I canny recommend Ólafur’s place enough!

You will love this cute place right on the water with spectacular views. We loved the heated bathroom floor and the big shower head. We could not stop exclaiming about the views. The kitchen is stocked with every tool you need including some condiments. There were plenty of towels also. The big double bed is very comfortable and all was very clean.

We stayed in several Air Bnb’s during our 10 day trip around the ring road and this was our absolute favorite! Perfect spot to see the Northern Lights and beautiful mountain scenery as well. We walked the stables and petted the beautiful horses. They have a few dogs and they just loved on us then were gone lol it was great! And they gave us eggs from their chickens for breakfast. They were so good! Such a great experience. If my husband and I ever go to Iceland again this will be a stop for sure. Wish we could of stayed a day longer. Loved this place, the people, and the town.

We spent an amazing time on Ólafía's farm. We got fresh eggs from her for breakfast and had much fun playing with her dogs. The cabin is cozy, very well equipped and very clean.

Such gracious hosts- Ólafía and Andrea helped guide us to her beautiful farm at the base of the mountains just outside of Akureyri when our gps failed. Our room was situated at the base of the mountain with spectacular views in all directions. The room was cozy and well done with a small kitchen to suit our needs. Interacting with the sweet animals on the farm topped off our wonderful stay. Ólafía challenged us to climb the mountain to sign her guest book, but alas, we ran out of time. Next time we will make it to the top!

Great house located in a beautiful area, hoping to come back!

It's been my third time staying at Ingolfur place and from here you can see how amazing the place is. The house is located infront of the Atlantic ocean and you will get amazing Seaview from the dining table. The house has all the amazing amenities to make the stay more comfortable and the hot tub is definitely not to be missed after a long day exploring around the northern Iceland.

The apartment is great & very clean. Every room came with bathroom, so we do not have to queue for our turns. The whole apartment was warm & cozy. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood with great views of ocean. We had a little problem finding the exact location, as our google map always showed that we had reached the house, but in fact, it was further down the road. But then, it was night & raining, so we did not have a clear view of the house. Anyway, we had a great stay!

Super nice accommodation near Akureyri, by the sea! The accommodation is super clean and well equipped. We were greeted by the host very nice and have got tips for excursions. Absolute highlight was the jacuzzi! Each room has its own small bathroom, which is very convenient. We'll be back!

Amazing place. Been traveling thru Iceland and this was my 4th place to stay and by far the best. Stayed for 5 nights, saw the wales, wrote some poetry, enjoyed the hottub, had great hikes, sleeped very good and went several times to the swimming pool (37 degrees). Sela is really a place full of character. Great hosts!

I came across this place by chance – and had a hard time moving out again. If you're looking for peace and calmness of mind, for early morning swims in the ocean, just down the field, for a cosy bed in a converted horse stable, with a lullaby of the sea – check in with Petúr and Swany, who will welcome you warmheartedly and make you feel at home. I wish to be back one day!

Amazing place! We strongly recommend staying here. Petur and Swany are amazing hosts, and made us feel very welcomed. The place is built and designed by them, everything is hand made and gives you a special and warm atmosphere that just makes you want to stay there longer. The views of the fjord and the small village nearby are amazing, sometimes we could also see whales from a distance. It's about 30 min drive from Akureyri, and 10 min drive from Dalvik (a small town with a nice cafe and also a supermarket if you need to buy something). We are very happy that we got the chance to meet Petur and Swany, and we would love to come back again!

Swany is a kind lady, very positive. She smiles always!!! I felt so comfortable in her house, I really recommend not only for the amazing view but for the experience. The hot pot outside is one of the best things .

A gorgeous (incredibly decorated by Swany) property in an amazing location; we were looked after very well by Swany and Petur, and the kids loved Blacke the dog. Highly recommended for a very comfortable base to explore the north and Lake Myvatn. We wIll be back!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Swany and Peter both greeted me at the door. They are both so friendly. My room was cozy. Everything was super clean. They had an entire kitchenat my disposal. Its located right by the ocean. I woke up to ducks and birds by my window. They even have whale watching within walking distance and you get a discount for staying at Selá. If you're looking for a hot spring they have their own geothermal hot tub that you can use at any time. They even have an adorable black labrador that is so friendly. He accompanieddown by the ocean a number of times. I wish I could've spent my whole trip there. I highly recommend if you're going to be in Nothern Iceland!

Accomodation was brilliant: everything worked and was clean with good facilities including excellent wifi, good value, host helpful and informative but also left me alone to enjoy my holiday (which was what I was looking for). All in all a very pleasant experience.

Petur & Swany's SELA Guesthouse was incredibly more than we expected. We booked quickly as it was in the region we wanted to explore and didn't think much more about it until we arrived. The amenities of their place - including large kitchen, comfortable rooms, stylish furnishings, and their over-the-top hospitality made this a very special place. Also, the views from the front door are overwhelming, the little town in walking distance is quaint, and the geothermal hot pots cannot be beat! It seems that most other guests we met here had stayed before and were coming back. Some of them said it was their favorite place to stay in Iceland, and I have to agree! We look forward to hopefully returning again in the future and bringing friends and family with us! Thanks for a wonderful stay at SELA!

This is really a very special place. I loved just watching the fjord view each day. Be aware you are pretty isolated and though a bus runs once a day better to have a car.
